So, for the next three weeks, we're going to be doing a series of podcasts debating the rankings for all 30 WrestleManias in order, from worst to first in blocks of ten, and would like to get some feedback to read on the shows.
I've written an article on what I feel are the bottom 10 (if you're interested you can read it here: http://steelchair.co.uk/ranking-the-wrestlemanias-the-bottom-10), and want to hear what agreements or disagreements people have with it, what they would rank higher or lower, and why.
For those who don't want to read the whole article, the bottom 10 are:
I'm going to comment on the two that stick out most in my childhood memories.
Judging from a purely nostalgic standpoint, WM9 was ok. The colliseum atmosphere was fun. I loved heel Doink, and Taker with the vulture was awesome. Unfortunately Hulkamania had to run wild for all of 10 seconds and walk away with the belt, which annoyed me since I really didn't like Hogan. I'm guessing my younger self accepted it as being better than Yoko having it.
My vote for worst goes to WM 11, for the simple fact that the Bigelow LT match main evented. That alone puts it at the top, or bottom in this case.
I'm glad they learned their lesson and saved the main events for real wrestlers. If not we probably would've had Show / Akebono headline WM 21, the 10 year anniversary of that fiasco
Wrestlemania IV is underrated. It didn't have alot of great matches, but there was some cool stuff. Macho Man winning the tournament, The Demolition Match, Bobby Heenan's outfit and The 6 Man with the Islanders was good.
Also Bret Hart getting double crossed in the Battle Royal. Listen as Monsoon says Don't ever double cross the Hitman. Talk about foreshadowing.
Plus any Wrestlemania with Monsoon and Jesse is worth the money, they kill today's announcers.

Personally I think 5 should be a higher...maybe put WM7 in the bottom 10 because besides Savage & Warrior WM7 was pretty forgetful but WM5 had The Mega Powers exploding plus one of Warrior & Rude's better matches, a pretty good Tag Title match, under handicap rules of The Powers of Pain & Fuji against Demolition, one of the better turns in WM with Rick Martel walking out on Tito Santana and the WM debuts of Shawn Michaels & Owen Hart (as Blue Blazer)
It was also my first WM so it's always going to be a little special to me but I think 5 was very underrated, I'd even rate it higher than 8 because that just felt weird to me. It had a good Hart/Piper match but the World Title Savage/Flair match was in the middle sandwiched between a meaningless 8-man & Tatanka/Martel fighting over feathers or some s*it like an episode of Superstars before Hulk beats Sid by DQ in the main event after Papa Shango was late on his run in.....A freaking Papa Shango run in for a WM main event.
How is Wrestlemania 6 even close to the bottom 10? The Main Event alone is one of the most memorable matches ever. Wrestlemania 2 has to be the worst though. Just too all over the place. Wrestlemania 9 wasn't that bad, just weak finishes. Wrestlemania 5 is also severely underrated here.
You probably should have a list of bottom 9 because WM 31 will easily take a spot.
I haven't seen all WMs but if there are shows that compete with the extreme awfulness of WM29 then wow there have been too many WM duds. At least to some WM29 has Punk/Taker but I don't even like that match.
Love the responses here, and am happy to say I was able to read the vast majority of them on the show, which is now up to listen to at the following link:
This ended up being a really fun podcast, breaking down the different elements of all the shows in the Bottom 10 and debating the order of the list itself. Check it out and let me know what you think!
Wrestlemania 2000? That one wasn't very good at all. Too many multi-man matches, not a single one on one in the whole damn event.
