WWF took control in late 1998, but did WCW win any weeks in 1999?
I do think the ratings had way too much impact on the strategy of WCW, they were way too concerned with the ratings, and not enough on the long term focus of WCW.
I remember reading it was when ric flair finally returned and they reformed the horsemen for the last time. I believe it may be the October date stated a few posts above.
They almost won again on the January 4 1999 show but then they said on air that Mick Foley had won the WWF title basically shooting themselves in the foot, lol ,talk about massive fail .
Uhh,i'm pretty sure they started beating them months before Rock became champion, maybe not regularly but still . Austin vs Mcmahon is the reason they started beating them and that's a fact .
Ah good times. I love that I was able to live through the Monday Night Wars. I definitely got bored of WCW's product by '99. I was initially excited to see Hall & Nash together again, but that whole Wolfpac and NWO b-team idea tanked, and from there I slowly began tuning out more and more. I had already been more invested in WWF since mid to late 1998 anyway, and I was constantly renting their PPVs from the 80s and 90s at the movie store. I watched WCW out of habit, or if I was switching over during commercials on USA. Ole Mark Madden and Schiavone ran me off. Is Tony not the most annoying guy ever? sorry, my post is a rambling tangent.
EDIT: As much as I love hatin' on Tony Schiavone, I listened to an interview of his awhile back, and actually found it pretty interesting. Go figure.
