You are very welcome and so are all who viewed this thread and appreciate wrestling history and the memorabilia it has produced through the decades.

Rewatched the Rogers/O'Connor Comiskey Park rematch, this morning. Great to see the flyer for it, and in such good condition. Super!

In general the large format cardboard posters are probably the rarest form of wrestling memorabilia. All posters were meant to be discarded after the show, but the smaller format 14"x22" cardboard posters were easy to store and some were just gathered up, put in boxes and packed away to be found by collectors 30 or 40 years later.

14"x22" CARDBOARD POSTER - WILD RED BERRY - 1956
[IMG][/IMG]

14"x22" CARDBOARD POSTER - DANGEROUS DANNY MCSHANE - 1956
14"x22" CARDBOARD POSTER - WEST COAST WORLD CHAMPION BARON LEONE - 1951 (A FEW MONTHS BEFORE THE MATCH WITH LOU THESZ THAT UNITED THE WEST COAST & NWA CHAMPIONSHIPS)

The rarest posters that I have are the four large format 28" x 22" sized cardboard posters. For the most part these were thrown away after the show. They were just too big and awkward to store. The few that were saved and stored away got banged around and most showed a good deal of "storage" wear.

This one is my favorite, because it advertises the first wrestling show that I ever attended as an 11 year old kid. The Madison Square Garden cardboard posters are the most coveted by collectors. I have only seen two of these advertising this particular match - and I HAD BOTH OF THEM! I sold one that had about a 3 or 4 inch right bottom corner piece torn off on eBay for $1,000 a few months ago. I kept the one below that was in better condition.
[IMG][/IMG]

Rogers and Ellis had three matches at MSG during their 1962 feud. The one below is advertises their first MSG match. This one is NOT mine, but belonged to a fellow collector who sold it for $1,200 this year.
[IMG][/IMG]

This 1962 DETROIT OLYMPIA cardboard poster is very rare, also. I've never seen another one like this. The Olympia arena was torn down a few decades ago and doesn't even exist anymore. The 1960 ISLAND GARDEN cardboard poster below it is a real beauty.
[IMG][/IMG]

Large format paper posters survived a bit better, because they could be folded and stored very easily. Below is a 22" x 28" ASBURY PARK paper poster from 1959. Notice that it was printed by the same company that printed the 1960 ISLAND GARDEN cardboard poster in the previous photo - "POSTERS INC,. 835 CHERRY STREET, PHILADEPHIA, PA."
[IMG][/IMG]

This is a really old 28" x 22" cardboard poster featuring Killer Kowalski and "Wild Bill" Longson in a Sam Muchnick promotion at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, 1950
[IMG][/IMG]

Chicago's Comiskey Park and International Amphitheater printed and gave out some really gorgeous flyers/programs for their shows in 1960, 1961, and 1962. They are very rare in general, and the Comiskey Park copies advertising the PAT O'CONNOR vs. NATURE BOY BUDDY ROGERS RECORD BREAKING NWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH ON JUNE 30, 1961 is extremely rare, especially in good condition. I had a double of the one below and sold it to a friend of mine for only $200, because he is a really good guy who has done me favors in the past and is a fellow Buddy Rogers fan. I believe it is easily worth triple that without batting an eye.
[IMG][/IMG]

Here are the flyers/programs from the Rogers/O'Connor rematch and Rogers' first title defense in Comiskey Park against Art "Sailor" Thomas.
[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Getting away from posters and flyers/programs for a minute, I really love my collection of cardboard boomerangs that The Fabulous Kangaroos used to throw out to the fans prior to a match. These are very rare.

1959 CARDBOARD BOOMERANG PICTURING THE ORIGINAL 'ROOS - ROY HEFFERNAN/AL COSTELLO
SIGNED BY THEIR FIRST MANAGER - WILD RED BERRY!

[IMG][/IMG]

TOP: 1965 CARDBOARD BOOMERANG PICTURING THE ORIGINAL 'ROOS - ROY HEFFERNAN/AL COSTELLO. SIGNED BY AL COSTELLO
BOTTOM: 1970 CARDBOARD BOOMERANG PICTURING THIRD INCARNATION OF 'ROOS - DON KENT/AL COSTELLO. SIGNED BY AL COSTELLO
.
[IMG][/IMG]

1973 CARDBOARD BOOMERANG THAT ADDED MANAGER CRYBABY CANON'S PICTURE IN THE MIDDLE WITH KENT AND COSTELLO ON EITHER SIDE. THIS ONE WAS ALSO USED BY THE 'ROOS AS A CHRISTMAS CARD AND MAILED FROM CANADA TO ROY SHIRE IN CALIFORNIA.
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

Finally, here is my most treasured piece of wrestling memorabilia. It was given to me by the late Georgianne Makropoulos (Mastis) who was the President of the Buddy Rogers Fan Club and a wrestling correspondent for decades. She had a permanent reserved seat at MSG! When she gave me this she said, in substance, "I'm giving you this because I know you will treasure it and keep it forever." There is NO price on this.

You should open your home as a museum. I'm really considering cancelling my family vacation, leaving the wife and kid at home to run to the store for some milk(Be right back honey), then flying out to Minnesota for the week.
