Default What was the deal with South Park and WWF in the Attitude Era?

in 97-98 The Outlaws were wearing South Park merch and the Oddities had Cartman doll..I know both were really popular...but what was the deal with that? I also heard a rumor where Stone Cold was supposed to be Cartman's father in the season 2 premeir of South Park in the episode "Cartman's mom is still a adirty slut"

I really liked the South Park shirt Road Dogg had on...It had the kids all red-eyed with the "South Park 420" on it...in the back it said "Look mom no cursing"

Did they ever sell South Park/WWF stuff?and how come it didnt last longer?

Vince Russo was big on pop culture so it was just something for fans to get into. It was also free advertising for the show.

During the late 90s, South Park and the WWF were the two top selling advertisers in the country.

In other words, they were both doing damn business.

Everyone at school was all about WWF, South Park, or both.

The WWF always tries to hip and cool nothing new.

Look at all those factoids we get on RAW and twitter trends lol

Now they're doing it with Twitter and whatnot. It was a different trend in late 1990's.

Those were definitely fun discussions in school. I remember one of the first times I saw South Park was their original Halloween episode.

South Park was hugely popular with the demographics the WWF were after at the time. Plus the whole rude, crude toilet humour nature of South Park. particularly in its earlier days, fit in with the kind of product the WWf were trying to promote. It made sense for guys like the Outlaws to have South Park shirts.

It's was just the 90's culture. South Park came out in late 1997 and was a huge hit. Back before everything became so PC in the last 5-10 years
