Randy Savage's increasingly ridiculous outfits
I have always been a big Randy Savage fan. Even as a kid I mostly rooted for the bad guys and I loved the arrogant ones like Perfect, Flair and Savage. Savage in the mid to late 80s was unimpeachable. His wardrobe was flashy but not completely over the top. He wore the sequined capes, but his ring attire was relatively simple.
The Macho King period (which I also enjoyed--MAJOR Sherri fan!) saw him switch to the long tights with all the crazy neon late 80s prints sometime with the crazy Hawaiian flowers and what not. Still, it wasn't too bad. But when he started wearing the cowboy hats with the fringe everywhere and even the sunglasses were decorated I felt he started to lose some of his edge. It seemed to be solidified with the Slim Jim commercials and he became almost a clown. Before the 92 Royal Rumble he even had giant purple feathers coming out of his cowboy hat, and the print on one of his outfits looked like abstract fried eggs!
Also it bothered me that he wore that gold shirt in the Wrestlemania match against Flair. I know it shouldn't really matter, but only big fat beast wrestlers are supposed to wear shirts.
