Yeah some things in this thread is scratching my head and some of it is revisionist history. As you said Sid quit and it had nothing to do with Hogan.
The WWF was in serious bad PR
at the time and weren't taking any chances thus Sid's suspension.
Look how small both Hogan and Warrior looked and to some seeing The Road Warriors return at Mania 8 too was surprising.
Sports Illustrated around the time did an article about muscle guys who were huge getting pushed over more talented guys like Flair. There was many reasons why the title scene went the way it did in early '92 as well as the rise of guys like Bret Hart.
The same with all the "creative control" stuff being thrown at Hogan in the 80's when business wise it's obvious why certain things went the way it did.
