Re: Official DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread!

Well this day just started off weird as fuck.

Hopefully he was just fucked over on smack or something. Surely he'll be sober in 20 hours and re-think this.

If indeed he was serious.

Re: Official DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread!

Well I wake up to read this. Pretty sad that someone should feel that down, but knowing from experience what it's like for someone actually killing themselves (my aunty drank herself to death) this is going to affect a whole lot more people than you think. My nan was crying for a good 2 weeks, saying that it should of been her to die before anyone else in the family and she still blames herself.

I don't think too kindly on people that opt for the easy way out, but I do pity them that they feel that down that they see that as the only solution. There are much better ways to deal with things than killing yourself.

I respect you as a reviewer here, but as a person I don't, if you go through with this. Just because I know what they fall out is like when someone kills themselves, it ain't pretty.

Sorry for being harsh, but I just speak from experience when it comes to things like this.

RIP Randy Savage & The Ultimate Warrior.

Thanks for the memories.

Re: Official DVD/Match/Show Discussion Thread!

This wasn't a very fun thing to come home to in the evening. I was like, semi-excited to see there were 7 new pages of stuff, thinking there'd be lots of reviews and stuff, but it was all really disturbing instead.

Austin 101: I hope you post forty-seven 30,000+ word reviews in the next week. And I'm being completely sincere about that.

WRESTLING THOUGHTS:

Um. Fuck. I'm totally drawing a blank. There should be a match or something that's fresh in my mind that's worth talking about... Ah. Not a particular match, but some thoughts on the Rock:

How do folks feel about Rocky as a babyface worker? Not sure exactly what I want to say, but... I don't know. I guess I think he's a really great heel, but I've never really bought into him as a babyface in a big way. Like, if he's being a prick and whomping on Mick Foley's leg with a chair, then I think he's pretty great. And I guess as sort of an in-your-face-type arrogant babyface, he was really good. But in stuff like his Triple H series from 2000, where Vince & co. totally stacked the odds against him, I could never really buy into him. Not sure what it was; I just never really felt that sympathy, and I've been wondering if anyone else has that same problem. I probably need to re-watch a couple matches to try to get a better grasp on what I'm trying to say.

Anybody got a great Rocky babyface performance (and, you know, can explain WHY it's a great babyface performance)? Like, at the X-Seven match, I totally wasn't buying into Rocky at the end, even though Austin's heel turn performance was top-notch. Granted, they decided to turn Austin in Texas, which was doomed to fail. But still, I didn't have that home-state bias, but I still wasn't into The Rock at the end of the match. It might've been his offense, the way he'd kinda blow everything off to hit some strikes. It didn't really seem like it was hard for him to get his offense in after taking a crazy beatdown.

I'd just been thinking about that, especially because I was remembering some Cena/Rock comparison discussion. Rock might be the better heel worker & the better character, but I'd be interested to see a quality defense for Rocky as the better babyface worker.

Did you see his power, Jim Ross? He threw him down like a rag doll!
