Black people of that era were hard working, far more family oriented, and thought a family member going to jail or having multiple children while not married was something shameful. My aunt and uncle's grew up in that era. MLK fought against Jim Crow, not the internal problems of the black community. Hell the gangs were even different back then, The Black panthers helped strengthen the community not destroy it like the Crips and Bloods

You took what I said all wrong, I'm saying that the majority of black people want to reject the violent sterotypes, but the movement is not organized, people like Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton are fine, but the community is not as organized
Maybe I'm wrong, after all I don't live through it, that's just my opinion, I want equality and a colorblind society one day, and I think a strong leader would do that, that's what I'm saying

You do realize you put over Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and stated you want to have a colorblind society in the same post, right?

I don't think I took it wrong. I think I understood every single word of your post. Honestly I doubt you know enough about black culture to post some off the wall shit like that. The problems affecting the black community all begin at home. A destructive family environment breeds those people we see on the 5 o'clock news. Saying these people need a savoir is really fucked up, I expect that type of shit from Rush Limbaugh or Bill Oreilly
Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are just as divisive as far right republicans. Both are just as racist as the head Klans wizard and have done more harm to the black community than good

Your right I don't understand the struggles in the black community, and it's something I'll probably never face, but I never said they needed a savior, I said they needed a strong leader, and I do beilive some of what Sharpton and Jackson have done are good things, what I'm saying is they need someone with good family convictions to be used a role model, thats what I'm saying
and Holt, I know and like you man, your a good guy from everything I've seen, and I honestly hope you don't beilive me to be racist, becuase all I'm trying to do is help, and provide a solution, for a huge social issue

If you don't know about the black community than how on earth can you begin to offer solutions to its problems. That's like me going up to the president and telling him how to fix the national trillion dollar debt or going up to a drug addiction and trying to get them clean. I don't know shit about either situation and haven't experienced it enough to offer up ways to fix it.
Jesse Jackson and Sharpton have not done any substantial good within the black community. All they do is play the race card so much that it has lost all meaning. Sharpton got Imus fired for saying Nappy headed ho but does shit when black rappers rap about raping women in their songs. And what about the Duke rape case, he damn near had a nation wanting to stone the boys who eventually turned out to be innocent. Then this joke has the balls to say Barack Obama isn't black enough. I mean the fuck does he want to him to come out to some 50 cents music with his baby mama trailing behind
