Seriously though, there's nothing wrong with defending yourself regardless if it's male or female provided you didn't start the fight. I highly doubt authorities will come into it as it's nothing more than a school yard brawl. You did the right thing by walking away to start off with. There's not much you can do about the suspention other than just grit your teeth and bear with it.

^That is one of the greatest posts ever. I always say the same thing. I don't understand it, whenever a girl hits a guy, it's alright. But whenever a guy hits a girl, everyone is like "OH MY GOD". Don't get me wrong, if a guy just kicks the shit out of a girl, or anyone for that matter, he's a piece of shit. Dude, any male with any sort of muscle mass would be able to defend himself against a girl without having to get violent with the girl.....it she is punching you, move or block the punches....grab her two arms to the side of her body and hold her there until she calms down....intimidate her a little, but don't act as though you are goign to be violent with her.....wait until she agrees to calm down and then walk the fuck away....no need to ever hit a girl....just no need really, because you should be able to handle it before it even escalates to such a situation...
Well all you can do now is have a good defense if she decides to press charges. Tell the truth.
As for me, I used to have an old fashioned opinion on this, it's how I was raised. But lately i've changed. After seeing numerous girls challenge boys at my school, hit them, verbally attack them, the works ; and the minute the boy raises a hand, all of the surrounding boys get in his face. I will not strike a girl like I would a boy, but if she hits me, pushes a sensitive button (family, something like that) or maybe if i'm just pissed off enough, I will give her a little love tap or slap, etc.
