WWE seemed to have given up on Maryse after her second Divas championship. Which I always thought was weird considering how hard they were pushing her for the longest time it seemed like. She went from being champ to being Ted DiBiase's valet to hosting a show hardly anyone watches in a very short time. She wasn't the best but neither is Kelly.

I suppose you could chalk up her release as another example of WWE not caring about women's wrestling. Her along with Mickie and Melina were the last of the divas that were able to show some personality and charisma + could actually do something. The ones they have left either can wrestle but have no personality (Beth & Natalya) or don't have anything but their looks (most of the remaining divas).
