A marathon sums up a 26.2 mile distance going all the way back to the Greeks - calling something a 15 mile marathon doesn't make any sense to me. If it's 15 miles then it's got nothing to do with a marathon. It's a 15 mile race.

News to me. I've heard of a marathon and a half marathon. I have never ever heard of something called a 15 mile marathon. The whole point of it being 26.2 miles is because of the historical significance of the distance. It's like saying I've done a ten mile half marathon. Very bizarre.
