Kip James' last appearance was last Saturday on iMPACT! after just over a year with the company, while BG, who had been a part of TNA since 2002, finished up last Sunday at Lockdown against Konnan and Ron Killings. With the releases of The James Gang, Sean Waltman is not expected to appear for TNA again, having been a part of Destination X and the two following iMPACT! tapings last month. Shannon Moore has also been released.

Rhino has not been seen since the 3/25 edition of iMPACT!, when he was on the receiving end of a con-chair-to from Abyss. He was pretty banged up after his Falls Count Anywhere match with Abyss at Destination X, and thus was written off television for a while to give him time to rest. Rhino is expected to continue his rivalry with Abyss upon his return, so he'll be brought back at a time that is suitable for their storyline to resume.

The rivalry between Larry Zbyszko and Raven is also set to continue, although it is extremely unlikely that Raven and Zbyszko will face each other in a match again after Raven's victory last Sunday at Lockdown.

After his team was victorious in Lethal Lockdown last Sunday, Sting is expected to stick around until Slammiversary. The current plan is for Sting to finish his current run in June, before returning for the run-up to Bound For Glory in October.

Speaking of Bound For Glory, TNA are dead set on holding the event outside the iMPACT! Zone, and are targeting an announcement of the event's location in June. It will be the first time that a monthly pay-per-view has been held outside the iMPACT! Zone.

The 4/22 primetime edition of iMPACT! scored a 1.0 rating, which both TNA and Spike TV are pleased with. More primetime specials can be expected in the future, and with iMPACT! moving to Thursday nights as of this week, there is potential for higher ratings, both in its regular timeslot of 11/10 CT and in primetime.

4/27 iMPACT! Preview

This week, iMPACT! arrives on Thursday nights!

We will hear from the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage, who retained his title against Abyss this past Sunday at Lockdown after falling through the cage door! What will 'The Instant Classic' have to say?

We will discover who will challenge Generation Next's Austin Aries and Roderick Strong for the NWA World Tag Team Championships on May 14th at Sacrifice, as a 'dream team' of AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels face America's Most Wanted, The Latin American Exchange and Team 3D in a four-way elimination match!

Also, the 2006 World X Cup gets underway, as Team Mexico's Incognito and Magno face Team USA's Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt in first-round action, with one point up for grabs! Which team will get off the mark?

Plus, arguably the hottest name in professional wrestling today, 'The Samoan Submission Machine' Samoa Joe, is in action, four days after securing victory for Sting's Warriors against Planet Jarrett in Lethal Lockdown!

Tune in THIS THURSDAY at 11/10c on SPIKE TV!

As a massive New Age Outlaws mark, I can't help but be a little sad to see the Outlaws (fuck James gang) being released. As for Shannon Moore, nothing but a jobber anyway. Not much really to say about the news and notes, as everything said in there is pretty much expected. Bound for Glory taking place outside the impact zone is a terrific idea, will just make things seem more important.

Show looks like it should be pretty good to. I'm most interested to see just where you go with Samoa Joe from here. Four way tag match should be epic, and I completely expect James Mitchell to interrupt a Christian promo tonight. I'll be reading.

TNA iMPACT! - April 27th, 2006; Orlando, Florida

“Now that I’ve refreshed your memory, I’ll ask you again… is… that… ENOUGH?!”

THIS IS TNA, THE NEW FACE OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING…

The show begins with a recap video of Lockdown last Sunday, accompanied by “Shameful” by Atreyu. We see highlights of all of the matches on the card, including Scott D’Amore costing Eric Young his spot in Team Canada against Bobby Roode after giving Roode some brass knuckles, Christian Cage retaining the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Abyss after being knocked through the cage door, and Sting’s Warriors defeating Planet Jarrett in the Lethal Lockdown match after Samoa Joe made James Storm submit to the Coquina Clutch.

The opening video plays, and the camera cuts into the iMPACT! Zone, as the pyro goes off and the camera pans the crowd who are holding up their signs and chanting "TNA!".

Mike Tenay: Tonight, on iMPACT’s debut on Thursday nights, we’ll hear from the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage!! Plus, the 2006 World X Cup begins as Team Mexico and Team USA go head-to-head, and we’ll find out who will challenge Generation Next’s Austin Aries and Roderick Strong for the NWA World Tag Team Championships in just over two weeks at Sacrifice, as America’s Most Wanted, The Latin American Exchange, Team 3D and a dream team of ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles and ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels square off in a four-way elimination match!! iMPACT! on Spike TV starts NOW!!

***CRUSH U UP***

The crowd erupts with cheers, as Samoa Joe walks out. With a white towel over his shoulders, Joe walks down the ramp and enters the ring, posing for the crowd. Tyler Black (who obviously won't get very far in this business ) is already in the ring.

1 - Samoa Joe vs. Tyler Black

The bell rings, and Black and Joe lock up. Joe breaks the lock-up and goes for a clothesline, but Black ducks it and when Joe turns to face him, Black hits Joe with a knife-edge chop to the chest. Joe responds with a chop of his own, delivered so ferociously that it sends Black backpedaling into the corner of the ring. Joe walks towards the corner, but Black rolls out of it, ending up in the middle of the ring. Joe turns around and walks towards Black, who hits him with a kick to the thigh, before Joe responds with a STIFF kick to the thigh of his own!!

Joe hits Black with another kick to the same leg, which knocks the youngster down to the mat. Joe gets Black straight back up to his feet and wrenches his arm around. Joe then Irish whips Black into the ropes. Black comes back and ducks a clothesline attempt by Joe before running off the ropes again and hitting a shoulder block when he comes back. It does absolutely no damage to Joe, who doesn’t move a muscle and lets out a hearty roar. Black runs off the ropes again, but when he comes back Joe hits him with an inverted atomic drop, before running off the ropes and hitting Black with a RUNNING SINGLE-LEG DROPKICK!!

Joe springs back to his feet, runs off the ropes, and hits Black with a RUNNING SENTON!! Joe gets Black to his feet and takes him to the corner, where he hits him with a STIFF knife-edge chop to the chest that echoes throughout the iMPACT! Zone and brings a grimace to the face of Black. Joe then embarks on a rapid flurry of chops to the chest and slaps to the face, getting the crowd excited, until Black sinks down to a seated position. Joe FACEWASHES Black, driving his boot into his face repeatedly, until walking away into the middle of the ring, where he is greeted by huge cheers from the crowd.

“The Samoan Submission Machine” turns back towards Black, sizing him up before running towards the corner and going for a boot to the face, but Black manages to just barely roll out of the way. Black gets back to his feet and hits Joe, stood in the corner, with a couple of forearms to the face, before taking a few steps back. Black then runs forward… INTO A STJOE!! Joe plants Black on the back of his head on the canvas, and gets him straight back up, setting him up against the turnbuckles. Joe hits Black with a handful of big forearms, FOLLOWED BY A CCS ENZUIGIRI!!

Joe then lifts Black to the top rope, folds him up, lifts him onto his shoulder, walks into the middle of the ring, AND NAILS BLACK WITH THE MUSCLE BUSTER!! Joe isn’t done though, sitting Black up, AND LOCKING HIM IN THE COQUINA CLUTCH!! Black lasts about three seconds in the devastating hold, BEFORE TAPPING OUT!!

Winner - Samoa Joe @ 2:47.

Joe releases the hold, gets to his feet and has his hand raised by the referee to cheers from the crowd.

Mike Tenay: Samoa Joe had a big night this past Sunday at Lockdown, securing the victory for Sting’s Warriors in Lethal Lockdown against Planet Jarrett, and he picks up another convincing victory tonight on iMPACT!’s debut on Thursday nights!!

Don West: Joe’s the hottest star in professional wrestling today, Mike, and for anybody who’s never seen him before, that was just a little TASTE of what “The Samoan Submission Machine” is capable of!!

Joe breaks away from the referee, and is about to leave the ring…

***MY WORLD***

… WHEN JEFF JARRETT AND MONTY BROWN WALK OUT!!

Mike Tenay: And speaking of Planet Jarrett, here comes ‘The King of the Mountain’ himself, Jeff Jarrett, along with ‘The Alpha Male’ Monty Brown!! We’ll see what they have on their minds, when we return to iMPACT!!

Brown and Jarrett stand on the stage, both with their hands on their hips, glaring at Joe before making their way down the ramp as we go to a commercial break.

{Commercials}

Back on iMPACT!, Jarrett and Brown step into the ring, taking microphones and standing across the ring from Joe.

Jeff Jarrett: Joe, Joe, Joe… you’ve got a lot of nerve, showin’ your face in… (glances at Brown) OUR ring after last Sunday night.

~ The crowd cheer after Jarrett references the victory for Sting’s Warriors in Lethal Lockdown.

Jeff Jarrett: Last Sunday at Lockdown… was supposed to be Sting’s goin’ away party. It was supposed to be the night… where Planet Jarrett put Sting out of business for good. And that woulda' happened… if it wasn’t for you, Joe.

~ Cheers from the crowd.

Jeff Jarrett: ‘Cause of you… Sting thinks he won last Sunday.

~ Jarrett and Brown both shake their heads, disagreeing with that statement.

Monty Brown: But y’see, Joe… Sting didn’t win last Sunday. He didn’t beat me, he didn’t beat Jeff and he didn’t beat America’s Most Wanted. Hell, the last time Sting tried to face me and Jeff like a man… he felt the POUUUUUUNCEEE!!

~ Heat from the crowd.

Monty Brown: Sting told everybody who would listen that Lockdown was gonna be the night where he got his revenge on Planet Jarrett, but yet it was you, Joe, not Sting, who choked out James Storm from behind!!

~ A smirk appears on Joe’s face.

Monty Brown: Yeah, yeah, you like that, don’t ya', Joe? Brings a SMILE to your face, doesn’t it?

~ Joe, enjoying this, continues to smile.

Monty Brown: WELL DON’T GET USED TO IT!! You didn’t prove ANYTHING to ANYBODY in Lethal Lockdown, ‘cause take away the steel chairs, the kendo sticks, the trashcans, and you’re STILL not in the same league as ‘The Alpha Male’ or ‘The King of the Mountain’!!

~ Boos from the crowd.

Monty Brown: And you’re gonna be sorry that you ever SET FOOT inside that six sides of steel, ‘cause the fact of the matter is, if you’re with Sting… you’re AGAINST Planet Jarrett!!

~ Boos from the crowd, as Jarrett nods in agreement. Joe takes a microphone.

Samoa Joe: You done?

~ Brown, off the microphone, says "Not even close".

Samoa Joe: Y'know what? I don't care, 'cause I've got somethin' to say, and if you don't keep your mouths shut… I'll choke both of you out just like I did to James Storm at Lockdown.

~ Huge pop from the crowd, as Brown and Jarrett laugh.

Jeff Jarrett: Is that a threat, big guy?

Samoa Joe: You're damn right it is, slapnuts.

~ More cheers from the crowd.

Samoa Joe: Lemme' make two things clear to you. Last Sunday… I beat all four of your asses with my own bare hands.

~ Cheers from the crowd.

Samoa Joe: The steel chairs… the kendo sticks… the trashcans… I didn’t need any of ‘em. ‘Cause last Sunday… the most dangerous weapon inside that steel cage was me.

~ Big pop from the crowd.

Samoa Joe: And number two… I’m not “with” Sting.

~ Mixed reaction from the crowd.

Samoa Joe: I was on Sting’s side in Lethal Lockdown for one reason and one reason only… so I could destroy Planet Jarrett.

~ Cheers from the crowd.

Samoa Joe: And the fact that the two of you are stood in this ring right now… tells me I've still got work to do.

~ Big pop from the crowd.

Jeff Jarrett: Look at it whatever way you want, Joe… but ya' might have to take a rain check with your lil' crusade, 'cause right now… you’re outnumbered.

Jarrett and Brown look at each other, before dropping their microphones…

… AND ATTACKING JOE!!

Mike Tenay: IT’S A TWO-ON-ONE ASSAULT ON SAMOA JOE!!

Jarrett and Brown ambush Joe, looking to make him pay for last Sunday at Lockdown, BUT JOE FIGHTS BACK, HITTING JARRETT AND BROWN WITH RIGHT HANDS!!

Don West: YOU CAN’T KEEP ‘THE SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE’ DOWN, MIKE!!

Brown and Jarrett are sent backpedalling by Joe’s rights, and Brown comes right back, charging towards Joe, but Joe throws Brown into the corner. Joe unloads on Brown with rights in the corner, but his assault is quickly brought to an end by Jarrett, who hits Joe with a clubbing blow to the back. Brown moves out of the corner and now it’s Joe trapped in the corner by Brown and Jarrett, who beat him down with right hands and stomps…

… WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT IN THE iMPACT! ZONE!!!!

Don West: COULD IT BE??!!

Mike Tenay: I THINK SO!!

The crowd roar with cheers as the iMPACT! Zone is shrouded in darkness. Moments later, they come back on…

… AND STING IS STOOD IN THE RING!!!!

Mike Tenay: IT IS!! IT'S STING!!!!

Sting, wearing his trenchcoat over his ring attire with his signature black baseball bat in hand, stands behind Brown and Jarrett, who stop attacking Joe and slowly turn around to face Sting, almost jumping out of their skin when they see him. They have an extended staredown with Sting…

… UNTIL STING POINTS THE BAT AT JARRETT AND BROWN!!

Don West: JARRETT AND BROWN ARE IN TROUBLE NOW, MIKE!!

As soon as he does so, Jarrett flees, rolling out of the ring and retreating up the ramp to boos from the crowd. Brown looks at Jarrett in confusion, asking him where he’s going, while Joe walks up to behind Brown, turns him around…

… AND HITS BROWN WITH A CCS ENZUIGIRI!!

Don West: OH AND JOE JUST NAILS MONTY BROWN WITH THE ENZUIGIRI!!

Joe gets straight back up, grabbing Brown and throwing him into the corner of the ring. Joe then lifts Brown to the top rope, lifts him onto his shoulder, walks into the middle of the ring…

… AND NAILS BROWN WITH THE MUSCLE BUSTER!!!!

Mike Tenay: MUSCLE BUSTER TO MONTY BROWN!!!!

The crowd goes wild and Jarrett, outside the ring, places his hands on his head in despair as Joe gets back to his feet, looking down at Brown, before directing his gaze at Jarrett. Jarrett violently shakes his head, holding his hands up as he backs further up the ramp until he is out of sight. Joe then slowly turns around, coming face-to-face with Sting.

Mike Tenay: Not the first time we’ve seen Samoa Joe and Sting face-to-face!!

They stare each other down for a few moments, until Joe turns around and leaves the ring as his music hits, whilst a contemplative Sting stands in the ring over the motionless Brown.

*Backstage - Interview Area*

Shane Douglas
is with AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels.

Shane Douglas: I’m here with ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles and ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels, and fellas, I never thought I’d see the day where the two of you were on the same side, but we saw it last week against America’s Most Wanted, we saw it this past Sunday in Lethal Lockdown against Planet Jarrett, and tonight we see you join forces again… this time, with a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Championships on the line.

Christopher Daniels: You can thank Jim Cornette for that, Shane, because it wasn’t my idea, and I’m sure it wasn’t AJ’s either, but it looks like our Director of Authority wants to see AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels team up again tonight, and maybe even at Sacrifice too against Generation Next for those NWA World Tag Team Championships. Why? I don’t know. Maybe he wants to know who’s better, me or AJ… although I think we all know the answer to that question.

~ Styles scoffs in response to Daniels' statement.

AJ Styles: That so?

~ Daniels turns to face Styles, and they have a staredown, with Douglas holding the microphone in between them.

Christopher Daniels: Yeah, that’s right.

~ Daniels breaks the staredown, stepping backwards.

Christopher Daniels: But y’know what, Shane, let’s put that aside, because I don’t know about you, AJ… but I’m not exactly Generation Next’s biggest fan. Alex Shelley is carrying around that X Division Championship, that if it wasn’t for his buddies Austin Aries and Roderick Strong, would still be around MY waist!! And Austin and Roderick… just so happen to be the NWA World Tag Team Champions. They cost me my championship, so after we win tonight and go on to Sacrifice on May 14th… me and AJ… are gonna take theirs.

Shane Douglas: Your thoughts on that, AJ?

AJ Styles: Well, Shane… that’s the gospel… accordin’ to The Phenomenal Angels.

Styles and Daniels both smirk, having given themselves a team name, before walking out of the picture.

*Back to Ringside*

***TEAM MEXICO*** Incognito
and Magno, representing Team Mexico, walk out. Incognito, holding the Mexican flag, and Magno make their way down the ramp and into the ring, both posing, Incognito waving the Mexican flag in the air for the camera to see.

***HAIL SABIN*** Team USA’s Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt walk out, getting cheers from the crowd. Sabin, carrying the USA flag, and Dutt walk down the ramp, high-fiving some fans before sliding into the ring and posing on the second rope in opposite corners of the ring, Sabin waving the flag.

2 - World X Cup; Round One
Team Mexico (Incognito & Magno)
vs. Team USA (Chris Sabin & Sonjay Dutt)

Dutt and Incognito get us started, locking up. Incognito applies a standing headlock. After a few moments in the hold, Dutt drives Incognito backwards into the ropes before pushing him across the ring into the opposite ropes. Incognito comes back off the ropes and Dutt comes into the middle of the ring, going for a hip toss, but Incognito floats over onto his other side and hits Dutt with a hip toss of his own. Incognito grabs hold of Dutt’s legs, but Sonjay kicks him backwards into the ropes. Incognito comes back and gets taken down to the mat with a drop toe hold from Dutt. Dutt applies a headlock on the floor, and brings Incognito up to his feet, with the headlock still locked in.

Incognito slips out of it and applies a hammerlock to Dutt. Dutt slips out of it, puts himself in a wheelbarrow position in front of Incognito and elevates himself up, before twisting himself around and hitting Incognito with a WHEELBARROW ARM DRAG!! Both men get back to their feet and Incognito runs at Dutt, who takes his legs out from underneath him before executing a jack-knife pin, the first cover attempt of the match:

1…

2…

Incognito kicks out. Both men get back to their feet and Dutt rolls underneath a clothesline attempt from Incognito, before running off the ropes. Dutt comes back and Incognito scoops him up, but Dutt reverses it into a TILT-A-WHIRL HEADSCISSORS TAKEDOWN!! Dutt gets up and gets Incognito up, taking him to the corner where Chris Sabin is stood. Dutt tags Sabin into the match and Sabin enters the ring, immediately flooring Incognito with a snapmare, followed by a STIFF kick to the back!! Sabin gets Incognito to his feet and hits him with a few chops to the chest, before Irish whipping him forward into the corner.

Sabin runs towards the corner, but Incognito lifts himself up into the air with the ropes and pushes himself backwards, landing on his feet behind Sabin. Sabin turns around and Incognito kicks him in the mid-section, places his head in between his legs, hooks his arms, lifts him up and hits Sabin with a DOUBLE-UNDERHOOK SUPLEX!! Incognito gets Sabin up and takes him to the corner where Magno is stood. Incognito lifts Sabin up and plants him on the mat, before Magno hits him with a SLINGSHOT ROLLING SENTON!! Magno makes the cover:

1…

2…

Sabin kicks out. Magno gets Sabin to his feet and wrenches his arm around, applying a wrist lock. A few moments later, Sabin rolls forward and kips back up, hitting Magno with a kick to the back of the legs that takes the Mexican down to the mat. Sabin goes for an elbow drop, but Magno rolls out of the way. Both men get back to their feet and Sabin grabs Magno, twisting him around in position for a neckbreaker, but Magno slips out of it, turns around, grabs Sabin and goes for a back suplex. However, Sabin flips backwards and lands on his feet behind Magno, and as soon as Magno turns around Sabin jumps up, wraps his legs around his head and hits him with a HURRICANRANA, sending Magno through the ropes and out of the ring!!

As Magno slowly begins to get back to his feet on the outside, Sabin runs off the ropes and charges across the ring, looking to go high-risk. Sabin encounters a roadblock in the form of Incognito, who makes his way across the ring apron to stand in Sabin’s way, but Sabin knocks Incognito off the apron with a RUNNING FOREARM SMASH, sending Incognito into Magno as both men fall down to the floor!! Dutt enters the ring, joining Sabin. The duo wait for Incognito and Magno to get back to their feet on the outside before running off the ropes, charging across the ring, AND FLYING THROUGH THE ROPES, TAKING OUT INCOGNITO AND MAGNO WITH STEREO SUICIDE DIVES!! The crowd go wild, chanting “TNA!”, as we go to a commercial break.

{Commercials}

Back from the break, Dutt and Incognito are in the corner of the ring. Dutt hits Incognito with a handful of knife-edge chops to the chest, each drawing a “woooo” from the crowd. Dutt then takes a couple of steps back before charging towards the corner, but Incognito lifts him up and over the top rope. Dutt manages to land on his feet on the ring apron, and when Incognito turns to face him, Dutt hits him with a forearm to the face, sending him backpedaling into the middle of the ring. Dutt then jumps onto the ropes and springboards off them, flying in the direction of Incognito, but Incognito catches him as he comes down with an inverted atomic drop, bringing Dutt down to one knee, before clocking him with an ENZUIGIRI!! Incognito makes the cover:

1…

2…

NO!! Sabin enters the ring and breaks up the pin!! Sabin is sent back to his corner by the referee, as Incognito gets Dutt to his feet and Irish whips him into the corner where Magno is stood. Incognito runs at Dutt, but Dutt lifts himself up into the air with the ropes and boots Incognito in the face with both feet, sending him staggering backwards. Magno, on the apron, tries to throw a right hand, but Dutt ducks it and hits Magno with a dropkick, knocking him off the apron and down to the floor!! Dutt runs at Incognito, rolling underneath a clothesline attempt. Incognito turns around to face Dutt, who hits him with a FACEBREAKER KNEE SMASH, followed by a JUMPING NECKBREAKER!!

Dutt heads to the corner where Sabin is stood and tags in Sabin, before climbing to the top rope, AND HITTING INCOGNITO WITH A MOONSAULT DOUBLE-FOOT STOMP!! Dutt gets back up and runs to the corner where Magno is now back on the apron, knocking him off as Sabin enters the ring. Sabin gets Incognito up, lifts him onto his shoulders, AND NAILS INCOGNITO WITH THE CRADLE SHOCK!! Sabin makes the cover:

1…

2…

3!!

Winners - Team USA @ 7:18.

Sabin gets to his feet, and he and Dutt have their hands raised by the referee to cheers from the crowd, having picked up a point for Team USA.

Mike Tenay: Team USA off to a great start in the 2006 World X Cup, Chris Sabin and Sonjay Dutt picking up one point with that first-round victory over Team Mexico’s Incognito and Magno!!

Don West: It’s good to have it back, isn’t it, Mike?

Mike Tenay: You got that right, DW!! We've got just over two more weeks until the World X Cup comes to a head on May 14th at Sacrifice, live on pay-per-view, where we’ll see TWO huge third-round matches, with Team Canada Captain, Petey Williams, facing Team Mexico captain, Shocker, and our Team USA captain, the TNA X Division Champion Alex Shelley, squaring off against the Team Japan captain, the legendary Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger!!

Don West: Two awesome matches, Mike!! Three points will go to the winners of those matches, and then later on in the night, in the fourth and final round, we’ll have ourselves a GAUNTLET match, featuring all four members of all four teams!! Whoever is the last man in the ring, their team gets five points, and may well win the World X Cup!!

*Backstage - Planet Jarrett’s Locker Room*

Jeff Jarrett, America’s Most Wanted and Gail Kim are in the Planet Jarrett locker room, sat down and conversing.

Jeff Jarrett: You just gotta forget about what happened last Sunday, alright? Sting and Joe ain’t your problem, me and Monty will handle that. You just gotta focus on bringin’ them NWA World Tag Team titles back where they belong.

James Storm: You got it.

Jeff Jarrett: Alright-

Suddenly, MONTY BROWN storms in, breathing heavily and holding the back of his neck.

Jeff Jarrett: There he is!! Where ya'-

Monty Brown: SHUT UP!! What the hell was that out there, huh?! Leavin’ me on my own with Sting and Joe?!

Jeff Jarrett: Monty, I’m sorry, I thought you-

Monty Brown: I mean, hell, I shouldn’t even be SURPRISED!! This is Planet JARRETT after all!! This is YOUR world, we’re all just livin’ in it, right?!

Jeff Jarrett: Monty, I-

Monty Brown: Save it, man. I’m done.

~ Brown turns around and leaves the room, as Jarrett shakes his head.

Chris Harris: You could give him another watch?

Jarrett sighs, burying his head in his hands.

{Commercials}

*Cut to Video*

The video begins with the GENERATION NEXT logo flashing across the screen, behind text which reads "THE NEXT FILES" and accompanied by music that sounds a lot like The X-Files theme. We see shots of ALEX SHELLEY, AUSTIN ARIES, RODERICK STRONG and "special guest star" KEVIN NASH, all accompanied by their names appearing on the screen. The intro concludes with the message "THE FUTURE IS NOW", before cutting to a table in an apartment, which all three members of Generation Next, along with Nash, are sat around, the NWA World Tag Team Championships resting on the table in front of Aries and Strong, as the title of this instalment, "MEN OF STEEL", appears on the screen.

Alex Shelley: Thursday Night Football. Thanksgiving. The Office.

Roderick Strong: I love The Office.

Kevin Nash: Not as much as me.

Alex Shelley: We all do. The point is, all of these things happen on Thursdays. And now… you can add TNA iMPACT! to that list, every Thursday night at 11/10 CT on Spike TV.

Shelley turns to the camera, putting his thumb up with a forced grin on his face.

Alex Shelley: Alright, cheap plug aside, which don't worry, we WILL get paid for… y'know what, that's a great idea, we should get sponsors on this show! I mean, we make enough money as it is, but y'know, we-

Kevin Nash: The Next Files, brought to you by George Foreman Grills. I've got sixteen of 'em. I don't use the one I burned my foot on, though.

Aries, Shelley and Strong cringe after that statement.

Austin Aries: Brought to you by Electrolux. Nothing sucks like Electrolux!

Roderick Strong: Brought to you by Victoria's Secret.

Everyone smiles, liking that suggestion.

Alex Shelley: You wouldn't believe how many female fans we have. I was getting coffee with George Clooney the other day, no idea how he got my number but I let it slide… but anyway, four smokin' hot girls come over, I mean, the worst of them was a nine… and they all wanna talk to me. They wanna know what sports I played in high school, Roddy had for breakfast this morning, if Austin has any allergies, if Kev is into younger women…

Kevin Nash: I am.

Nash winks at the camera.

Alex Shelley: Pretty awkward for George, but worth it… what was I talking about before?

Austin Aries: Thursdays.

Alex Shelley: Right, thanks, A-Double. As great as it is that we’re changing nights, let’s just take a moment to think about the things that have stayed the same, such as… I don’t know… the fact that we’re still the greatest group in all of professional wrestling, and we’ve still got the championships to prove it.

Austin Aries: But wait, I thought we were all supposed to lose at Lockdown, since we were in steel cage matches, and we can’t beat anybody by ourselves?

After a few moments of silence, everyone starts laughing.

Austin Aries: But seriously, guys… people are idiots.

Everyone nods in agreement.

Kevin Nash: Y’know what… forget Superman. You guys are the REAL men of steel. The SIX sides of steel!! GIVE YOURSELVES A ROUND OF APPLAUSE!!

Everyone at the table applauds for a few moments.

Alex Shelley: Oh, uh, sorry to end things on a sour note, Kev, but I couldn’t get you on the World X Cup team. I told Cornette how much you wanted to be on the team, I showed him your 720 splash on the tape, but he was being a real wet sandwich.

Kevin Nash: Pfft. No limits my ass.

Nash shakes his head in disgust, before the camera cuts to a black screen, with Shelley, Aries, Strong and Nash listed as executive producers in that order in white writing. That is followed by a picture of the four of them sat at the table together smiling, with the text "N.A.S.S. PRODUCTIONS" in front of it in white writing.

Tenay and West are at the announce table, and have been joined by the NWA World Tag Team Champions, Austin Aries and Roderick Strong of Generation Next.

Mike Tenay: We’re getting set for our main event on our first edition of TNA iMPACT! on Thursday nights, a Four-Way Elimination Tag Team match, with the winners challenging the gentlemen joining us at this time, Generation Next’s Austin Aries and Roderick Strong, for the NWA World Tag Team Championships on May 14th at Sacrifice.

Austin Aries: We’re doing great, thanks for asking.

Don West: First off, guys, congratulations on successfully retaining your titles against Team 3D last Sunday at Lockdown, a lot of people talked about what role Kevin Nash might play in the outcome of the match, but he didn’t really factor at all!!

Austin Aries: Why would he be a factor, Don? Can’t a couple of guys just be friends with a legend of the business anymore? Jeez.

3 - Main Event; #1 Contenders’ Four-Way Elimination Tag Team Match
America’s Most Wanted w/Gail Kim vs. The Latin American Exchange w/Konnan vs. The Phenomenal Angels vs. Team 3D

The Latin American Exchange and Team 3D get us started, and it’s Brother Devon and Homicide in the ring. Devon and Homicide lock up, and Devon shows his strength, outmuscling Homicide and driving him backwards, so Homicide breaks out of the lock-up and hits Devon with a kick to the mid-section. Homicide applies a standing headlock. A few moments later, Devon pushes Homicide away into the ropes. Homicide comes back and hits Devon with a shoulder block, but Devon stays on his feet!! Homicide is set off by this, as he slaps his chest and shouts at Devon in Spanish before throwing a right hand, but Devon blocks it and hits back with one of his own, followed by a few more.

Devon goes for an Irish whip into the ropes, but Homicide reverses it into one of his own. Devon comes back and knocks Homicide down with a shoulder block of his own. Devon then runs off the ropes, jumping over Homicide who flips over onto his chest, before running off the ropes again. Devon comes back and Homicide goes for a back elbow, but Devon ducks it, kicks Homicide in the mid-section, grabs him by the waist, and hits Homicide with a GUTWRENCH SUPLEX!! Devon gets up, moves across the ring to where Homicide landed and gets him to his feet.

Devon Irish whips Homicide into the corner of the ring before running at him, but “The Notorious 187” greets him with a boot to the face, sending Devon staggering away. Homicide quickly comes up behind Devon, grabs him by the neck, and hits him with a JUMPING NECKBREAKER!! Homicide gets to his feet and talks some trash to Devon in Spanish as he hits him with some stomps to the mid-section. Homicide gets Devon to his feet and takes him to the corner where Hernandez is stood. Homicide tags Hernandez into the match and Hernandez enters the ring, immediately delivering a knee to the mid-section of Devon.

Hernandez follows up with a clubbing blow to the back, knocking Devon down to the mat. Hernandez gets Devon back to his feet and hits him with a STIFF chop to the chest, sending the veteran staggering away. Hernandez sets Devon up against the turnbuckles and wears him down with some shoulder thrusts to the mid-section. Hernandez brings Devon into the middle of the ring and puts him in a gutwrench position before lifting him up onto his shoulder, but Devon is able to slip off and land on his feet behind him. Hernandez turns around and Devon wraps his arms around him, BEFORE THROWING THE BIG MAN OVER HIS HEAD WITH A BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX!!

Devon gets back to his feet moments later and gets Hernandez up, taking him to the corner where Ray is stood. Ray enters the ring, and he and Devon both Irish whip Hernandez into the ropes, and when he comes back they hit him with a DOUBLE HIP TOSS!! Devon climbs out onto the ring apron, as Ray takes over. Hernandez gets back to his feet moments later, and Ray grabs him by the head with his left hand, before hitting him with a right bionic elbow. Ray follows up with two more, before performing some theatrics and then knocking Hernandez down with a FOURTH BIONIC ELBOW!! Ray makes the cover:

Hernandez kicks out. Ray gets Hernandez back up and goes for an Irish whip, but Hernandez reverses it into one of his own, sending Ray into the ropes. Ray comes back and Hernandez goes for a clothesline, but Ray ducks it, moves behind Hernandez and applies a full-nelson, looking for the Bubba Bomb. Before he can hit it though, Hernandez slips out of it, moves behind Ray and lifts him up, hitting him with an atomic drop, before running off the ropes in front of him, and hitting Ray with a FLYING SHOULDER BLOCK!!

Hernandez gets Ray back up and puts him in the gutwrench position before lifting him up and getting him in position for the Border Toss. However, Ray slips out of his grasps, and when Hernandez turns around to face him, Ray rocks him with some right hands. Ray then runs off the ropes… WHEN HIS FOOT IS GRABBED BY KONNAN!! Ray’s progress is stopped by the LAX leader at ringside, and Ray turns around, berating Konnan who shouts back at him in Spanish. While the referee is busy reprimanding Konnan… HERNANDEZ LOW-BLOWS RAY!!

Hernandez then brings Ray into the middle of the ring and lifts him back up like he did before, holding onto his arms behind his back, BEFORE HITTING RAY WITH THE BORDER TOSS!! Meanwhile, Devon tries to enter the ring and protest to the referee about LAX’s dirty tactics, prompting Homicide to enter the ring, run towards Devon, and knock him off the ring apron!! Hernandez makes the cover:

3!!

ELIMINATED - TEAM 3D @ 5:20.

Team 3D are the first to go, thanks to the underhanded tactics of LAX, and Devon is furious, eventually being joined by an equally-livid Ray as they reluctantly depart. Christopher Daniels enters the ring and starts off strong, immediately targeting Hernandez with a flurry of forearms to the face. Daniels then runs off the ropes, but when he comes back Hernandez lifts him in the air in a military press position, before unceremoniously dropping Daniels to the ground, sending him crashing into the canvas!! Hernandez hits Daniels with a couple of stomps, before getting him up and taking him to the corner where Homicide is stood.

Hernandez tags Homicide in and Homicide enters the ring, Hernandez holding Daniels in place for Homicide to deliver a kick to the mid-section. Homicide hits Daniels with some knife-edge chops to the chest before Irish whipping him into the ropes. Daniels comes back and Homicide bends over, looking to go for a back body drop. “The Fallen Angel” anticipates it though, and hits Homicide with a kick to the face, returning him to an upright position, before hitting Homicide with a STO!! Daniels gets Homicide back up and hits him with some forearms to the face, before Irish whipping him into the corner. Daniels follows Homicide into the corner, and hits him with a RUNNING HIGH KNEE to the face!! Homicide staggers out of the corner and Daniels lifts him up from behind, hitting Homicide with a SPIN-OUT POWERBOMB!! Daniels makes the cover:

1…

2…

No!! Homicide kicks out!! Daniels gets Homicide to his feet and lifts him up for a scoop slam, but Homicide slips off his shoulder. Daniels turns around and Homicide goes for a kick to the mid-section, but Daniels catches his leg. Daniels spins Homicide around three-hundred-and-sixty degrees before kicking him in the mid-section and hooking his arms, getting him in position for the Angel’s Wings. However, Homicide slips out of it, grabs Daniels, AND THROWS HIM OVER HIS HEAD WITH AN EXPLODER SUPLEX!!

Homicide gets back to his feet and walks over to Daniels, hitting him with a leg drop. Homicide sits Daniels up and hits him with a handful of chops to the back, before capping it off with a kick to the back!! Homicide gets Daniels to his feet and applies a front facelock. Homicide lifts Daniels up into the air for a suplex, but Daniels manages to slip out of it and land on his feet behind Homicide. “The Notorious 187” turns around and Daniels hits him with two forearms to the face, followed by a standing side slam. Daniels then points to the top rope and he heads to the corner, jumping to the second rope and then to the top rope before going for the BEST MOONSAULT EVER… but Homicide rolls out of the way!!

Fortunately for Daniels, he manages to land on his feet. Homicide gets up and runs at him with a clothesline, but Daniels rolls underneath it and ends up in the corner where AJ Styles is stood, tagging Styles in. AJ heads across the apron and jumps onto the ropes, before springboarding off them and flying through the air, HITTING HOMICIDE WITH A SPRINGBOARD FLYING FOREARM SMASH!! Styles gets back to his feet and slaps his chest, getting himself fired up as the crowd react with loud cheers. Meanwhile, Homicide gets back to his feet and runs at AJ, who steps aside and throws Homicide into Hernandez on the apron, knocking Hernandez off the apron and down to the floor!!

Homicide looks over the ropes and down at Hernandez in shock, when Styles rolls him up with a schoolboy!! Instead of pinning him though, AJ grabs hold of both of Homicide’s legs, stands up, hooks his arms with his legs, AND NAILS HOMICIDE WITH THE STYLES CLASH!! Styles rolls Homicide over and makes the cover:

1…

2…

3!!

ELIMINATED - THE LATIN AMERICAN EXCHANGE @ 8:36.

LAX are eliminated!! Homicide slowly rolls out of the ring and we’re now down to two: America’s Most Wanted and The Phenomenal Angels. AMW quickly make their presence felt as James Storm enters the ring, attacking Styles just as he is getting back to his feet and knocking him back down to the mat in the process. Storm unloads on AJ with several stomps before dropping to his knees and pummeling Styles with right hands to the face. Storm gets Styles back to his feet and Irish whips him into the corner of the ring. “The Cowboy” runs at AJ, but gets an elbow to the face, sending him backpedaling.

Styles then climbs to the top rope, but is soon joined by Storm, who climbs to the second rope. Storm hits AJ with some right hands, and Styles retaliates with some of his own. They continue to exchange on the top rope until AJ delivers an elbow to the mid-section of Storm, BEFORE SUNSET FLIPPING OVER HIM, AND DRIVING STORM INTO THE CANVAS WITH A POWERBOMB!! Styles makes the cover:

1…

2…

Harris enters the ring and breaks up the pin!! Harris beats down AJ with some stomps until he is forced back to his corner by the referee. Styles is the first back to his feet, and he gets Storm up. AJ hits Storm with some chops to the chest before running off the ropes, but when he comes back Storm lifts him up, AND NAILS STYLES WITH A TILT-A-WHIRL BACKBREAKER!! Storm makes the cover:

1…

2…

This time it’s Daniels who breaks up the pin!! Storm makes some threatening remarks to Daniels as he is sent back to his corner by the referee, before turning his attention back to Styles. Storm gets AJ back to his feet and holds him in a headlock with his left arm, as he uses his right hand to hit Styles with repeated blows to the face. Storm then runs off the ropes, and AJ lies on his front on the mat as Storm jumps over him and runs off the ropes again. Storm comes back off the ropes and Styles springs back to his feet, HITTING STORM WITH A MOONSAULT DROPKICK!!

AJ gets back up and pumps his fists to cheers from the crowd. Meanwhile, Storm crawls towards his corner and tags Harris into the match, and when Styles turns around, Harris enters the ring, charges forward, AND ALMOST TAKES AJ’S HEAD OFF WITH A CLOTHESLINE!! The cheers in the crowd are silenced as Styles is folded inside out by Harris’ clothesline, and Harris gets back to his feet, slapping his chest and mocking AJ by striking his signature pose, which draws heat from the crowd. Harris grabs Styles’ legs, puts his right foot in between them, crosses his legs, turns him over, AND LOCKS AJ IN THE SHARPSHOOTER!!

Styles is in a lot of pain in the hold, evident by the look on his face, as Harris shouts at him to tap out. The crowd are firmly behind “The Phenomenal One”, chanting his name, and eventually, after several moments, AJ manages to edge his way across the ring, AND MAKE IT TO THE ROPES!! The crowd rejoice, but Harris is furious, only letting go on the referee’s count of four and then pummeling Styles with stomps to the back. Harris grabs AJ by the legs again and tries to drag him back into the middle of the ring, but Styles kicks him in the face, sending “Wildcat” backpedaling.

AJ rolls underneath the ropes and out onto the ring apron. As Harris turns around, Styles jumps onto the ropes and springboards off them, flying through the air and going for a crossbody… BUT HARRIS CATCHES AJ!! Harris grins when he realizes the position he is in, and swings Styles around, going for the CATATONIC, but AJ manages to slip away and land on his feet behind Harris. Harris turns to Styles and goes for a clothesline, but AJ ducks it, AND NAILS HARRIS WITH THE PEL… KICK!! Harris stays up, but is visibly groggy, as Styles gets back to his feet, jumps onto the middle rope, and moonsaults onto Harris, applying an inverted front facelock before his feet touch the mat, BEFORE HITTING HARRIS WITH THE STYLIN’ DDT!!

The crowd go wild, chanting “TNA!”, as Styles crawls towards the ropes and uses them to pull himself up. AJ gets Harris to his feet and places his head in between his legs, striking his signature pose as he motions for the Styles Clash. However, Storm enters the ring, looking to stop him, but Styles sees him coming, pushing Harris away and ducking a clothesline attempt from Storm. Storm runs into Daniels, who enters the ring, kicks Storm in the mid-section, hooks his arms, lifts him up, AND NAILS STORM WITH THE ANGEL’S WINGS!! Storm rolls out of the ring and out of sight, as Daniels makes his way back to the ring apron.

AJ turns his attention back to Harris, who greets him with a knee to the mid-section. Harris Irish whips Styles into the ropes, as Daniels slaps him on the back, tagging himself in. AJ comes back and slides through Harris’ legs before getting back up. Harris turns around and Styles kicks him in the mid-section, lifts him up by the legs, AND NAILS HARRIS WITH THE STYLES CLASH!! AJ turns him over onto his back for Daniels, who enters the ring, jumps to the second rope and then to the top rope, AND HITS HARRIS WITH THE BEST MOONSAULT EVER!! Daniels hooks the leg:

Winners - The Phenomenal Angels @ 14:22.

Daniels gets to his feet and he and Styles have their hands raised by the referee to cheers from the crowd, The Phenomenal Angels now the number-one contenders to the NWA World Tag Team Championships!

Mike Tenay: How about THAT, Generation Next? You’ll put your NWA World Tag Team Championships on the line in just over two weeks at Sacrifice against The Phenomenal Angels, ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles and ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels!!

Roderick Strong: Should be a good match.

Austin Aries: Should be a great match. I guess you could call it a dream match for ‘em, since y’know, I’m sure AJ and Chris have wanted to face us for a long time.

Don West: You could call them a dream team!! Two of the greatest professional wrestlers we've ever seen in TNA joining forces!!

Austin Aries: Yeah, well, when it comes to these NWA World Tag Team Championships it’s all about chemistry, Don West. That’s something Roderick and I have in abundance, and something that AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels sorely lack, despite their victory tonight.

Daniels and Styles come face-to-face, nodding at each other before turning their attention to Aries and Strong, who leave the announce table and walk onto the ramp, holding their titles in the air and exchanging trash talk with Daniels and Styles, their next challengers…

*Backstage - Interview Area*

Jeremy Borash
is with Team Canada.

Jeremy Borash: I’m here with Team Canada, now without Eric Young, who as we saw last Sunday at Lockdown was forced to leave the group after losing to Bobby Roode in a match that you, Scott D’Amore, played a big part in the outcome of, by giving Bobby a pair of brass knuckles. The question on everybody’s mind is… why?

Scott D’Amore: Let me make one thing perfectly clear, JB… I didn’t want to hurt Eric Young. When I say that Team Canada are like sons to me, I mean it!! But what happened last Sunday… was necessary. Bobby Roode is a future NWA World Heavyweight Champion, and last Sunday, I was faced with LOSING him!! Eric was a valued asset of Team Canada, no question about it, but he just doesn't have the same ceiling as Bobby!! You have to understand, when I gave Bobby that pair of brass knuckles last Sunday, I was acting in the best interests of Team Canada. All I hope is that Eric understands… and we can remain friends.

~ Borash’s facial expression suggests that he believes that is highly unlikely.

Jeremy Borash: Quick question for you, Petey Williams, you’re on the same team as Eric Young for the World X Cup, will you be able to co-exist?

Petey Williams: Sure we will, JB. After all, if it was up to me… Eric Young would still be a part of Team Canada. But of course, it’s not up to me, it’s up to the almighty Scott D’Amore. What Scott says goes, and I'm sure A-1 and Bobby are just fine, they're gonna keep their mouths shut, but me? I'm starting to get a little sick of it.

~ D’Amore removes his glasses, getting in Petey’s face, but A-1 and Roode separate them. A-1 backs D’Amore up, whilst Roode directs his attention to Petey.

Bobby Roode: HEY!! What the hell are you doing?

~ Williams doesn’t say a word, simply scowling.

Bobby Roode: As your friend, here’s some advice… keep… your mouth… SHUT. Got it?

Williams scoffs, shaking his head before turning around and walking away, much to the chagrin of Roode. whilst D’Amore looks flabbergasted.

***TAKE OVER***

The NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage, walks out, getting a big pop from the crowd. Wearing a black collared shirt with rolled-up sleeves and denim jeans, and carrying his title over his shoulder, Cage looks into the crowd, pointing to them and then slapping his chest before walking down the ramp.

Mike Tenay: Well, Christian Cage didn’t have it easy against ‘The Monster’ Abyss this past Sunday at Lockdown inside the six sides of steel. But here he is, four days later, still the NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

Cage enters the ring, taking a microphone.

Christian Cage: Is it just me or is something… different?

~ Cheers from the crowd.

Christian Cage: I can’t put my finger on it. I mean, this ring still has six sides… everybody at home is still watching on Spike TV… I’m still in the iMPACT! Zone in front of all of my peeps…

~ Cheap pop from the crowd.

Christian Cage: … and even after being put through hell last Sunday at Lockdown, even with three cracked ribs after being thrown off the stage… I am still YOUR NWA World Heavyweight Champion!!

~ More cheers from the crowd.

Christian Cage: And whether we’re on Thursday nights, Saturday nights, or… Monday nights…

~ Boos from the crowd when WWE is alluded to, bringing a smile to Cage’s face.

Christian Cage: … this championship stays over my shoulder. I knew going into Lockdown that Abyss was going to be the toughest challenge of my career, and that’s exactly what he was. I feel a hell of a lot worse right now than I did before I set foot inside that steel cage, but the fact of the matter is, after all of the beatdowns, after everything that James Mitchell said, Abyss couldn’t take this NWA World Heavyweight Championship away from me!!

~ Cheers from the crowd.

Christian Cage: So-

***DOWN IN THE CATACOMBS***

Cage is interrupted as, speak of the devil, ABYSS walks out with JAMES MITCHELL, who has a scowl on his face, getting heat from the crowd.

Mike Tenay: And there’s the man in question, the man who failed to defeat Christian Cage at Lockdown for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, ‘The Monster’ Abyss, along with James Mitchell!!

Mitchell leads Abyss down the ramp and into the ring, joining a wary Cage who is visibly angered by their presence. Mitchell takes a microphone.

James Mitchell: Christian Cage… y’know, I would congratulate you on your victory… but I had the best seat in the house for your match with Abyss at Lockdown… so I of all people should know last Sunday… you didn’t win.

~ Boos from the crowd, as Cage looks confused.

James Mitchell: You’re confused, Christian, and I understand why. I mean, you are officially still the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, and you did have your hand raised last Sunday… but you didn’t defeat ‘The Monster’ Abyss… you escaped from ‘The Monster’ Abyss.

~ More boos from the crowd.

James Mitchell: You didn’t pin him, you didn’t make him submit… you walked out of Lockdown with that NWA World Heavyweight Championship, although "walked" probably isn't the best word to use… because of the feeble excuse for a cage door that couldn’t withstand the FORCE of this six-foot-eight, three-hundred-and-fifty pound WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION, CRASHING INTO IT!! All you had to do was fall through that door, and here you are!! Still the champ!! Still the esteemed leader of these mindless people you call "PEEPS"!!

~ Cheers when Mitchell mentions the 'peeps'.

James Mitchell: So let me ask you this, Christian… did you accomplish what you set out to do last Sunday?

~ Cage glances at his title over his shoulder.

Christian Cage: Well I’m still the champ, aren’t I?

~ Cheers from the crowd, as Mitchell laughs.

James Mitchell: Indeed you are… but is that enough? That’s the million-dollar question!! After all, Christian, (points at Abyss) THIS is the man… that gave your dear old friend Rhino a CONCUSSION, BY SMASHING HIS SKULL IN BETWEEN TWO STEEL CHAIRS!! And have we seen Rhino since? NO!!

~ Boos from the crowd, as Cage’s expression turns sour.

James Mitchell: THIS is the man… that DECIMATED you inside that steel cage last Sunday, that THREW you off of that very stage (points to the stage) down to the concrete floor, and exposed you as the PATHETIC excuse for a champion that you are, Christian!! So now that I’ve refreshed your memory, I’ll ask you again… is… that… ENOUGH?!

~ Cage doesn’t say a word, maintaining a stern expression on his face.

James Mitchell: Your silence is worth a thousand words!! I can see it in your eyes, you’re picturing the destruction that ‘The Monster’ Abyss has caused… and you’re picturing what you want to do to Abyss. Isn’t that right, Mr. ‘Instant Classic’?

~ Cage remains silent, but is visibly angry.

James Mitchell: Your (air quotes) ‘victory’ at Lockdown seems a little hollow all of a sudden now, DOESN'T IT?! You’re not satisfied with just adding one more notch to the win column!! You want to make Abyss SUFFER, you want to make him PAY for what he did not just to your friend Rhino, but to YOU, Christian!! And above all, you want to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt, to me, to Abyss, to your adoring fans, and to YOURSELF, that you are a worthy champion!!

~ Mitchell takes a breather, glancing at Abyss.

James Storm: If that’s what you want, Christian… then how about you defend your NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Abyss in seventeen days at Sacrifice… not in a steel cage… but in an environment where you can truly exact revenge upon Abyss… where you can truly defend your friend’s, and your own, honor…

… and what better way to do it than to slay the monster, once and for all, in his own personal playground… THE MONSTER’S BALL MATCH!!!!

~ Cheers from the crowd, who want to see that match take place.

James Mitchell: What do you say, Christian? Prove that you’re the champion you say you are, AND FACE ABYSS AT SACRIFICE!!

~ The crowd chant Cage’s name, as he thinks about what to say.

Christian Cage: Me and Abyss… in a Monster’s Ball match at Sacrifice… for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship…

~ Mitchell nods his head with a grin on his face.

Christian Cage: … is that what you want?

~ Mitchell nods again.

Christian Cage: Well believe me… you don't want it as much as I do.

~ Cheers from the crowd, as Mitchell smiles deviously.

Christian Cage: You want a Monster's Ball match at Sacrifice, Abyss? YOU'VE GOT IT!!

~ Big pop from the crowd.

Christian Cage: At Sacrifice, Abyss, only one of us is gonna leave that ring on their own two feet… and it’s gonna be me. BECAUSE THAT’S…

The crowd shout “HOW I ROLL!”. Cage’s music hits, and he holds the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in the air, angering Abyss who lets out a loud roar, before leaving the ring.

Mike Tenay: Christian Cage defied the odds and walked out of Lockdown with the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, but at Sacrifice he’ll have to defend the gold against ‘The Monster’ Abyss once again in Abyss’ specialty match, the Monster’s Ball Match!!

Don West: Christian said only one man will walk out of Sacrifice on their own two feet, and I think he’s exactly right!! It’s going to be BRUTAL!!

Mike Tenay: We’ll see you next Thursday night, right here at 11/10 CT on Spike TV!!

Cage walks up the ramp and reaches the stage, looking back at the ring with a look of defiance on his face and having a staredown with Abyss, who is being held back by Mitchell, to close the show…

Default Re: 1WhoKnocks Presents Total Nonstop Action Wrestling

I think I read somebody mentioned it in this thread about a month ago, but I just wanted to reiterate how instead of just doing your own thing, youíve managed to create your own angles, whilst still keeping with the TNA style booking. For example, every other week opening up with a match with somebody from the X Division. It makes this actually feel like a TNA thread, rather than a watered down WWE thread with different wrestlers. I marked a little for the appearance from Tyler Black by the way. He was never winning this one though, not much else to say about the match. Just a nice squash to keep Joe looking strong, which I have no issue with considering how much momentum he has after the PPV. Youíre building him perfectly at this point in time.

I expected Joe to be involved with Planet Jarrett a lot more after his dominating performance at Lockdown, so Iím glad to see thatís going ahead. Jarrett and Brownís bit on the mic was pretty solid, without being outstanding. I LOVED the attitude of Joe, calling Jarrett slap nuts. It was good that you kept Joe short and sweet as well, just an intense beast. Exactly the way he should be portrayed. The attack, followed by Sting was all done pretty well, for what made for a solid segment. Iím really intrigued to see just how all this works in regards to Joe. Whether heíll continue to be a lone ranger, or heíll be forced to team with Sting again? Either way, fun segment to continue the feud between Planet Jarrett and these guys.

Smart to have this interview Styles and Daniels just to show that they are on the same page. I think this Ďdream teamí that you keep referring to them as are going to be going to face Generation Next. Danielsí reasoning in regards to being costed the X Division title, already adds heat between the teams. I dig The Phenomenal Angels name as well, good stuff.

I think youíve had Stylesí Fosbury Flop be on almost EVERY video package youíve written to hype a PPV so far. Anyway, Iím interested to see what the card for Sacrifice will look like. Hopefully a few shock matches or new feuds that get set up, just to freshen things up a little.

A solid enough match to kick off the World X Cup. If Iím honest, we all already know that these guys can put on terrific matches, and this competition will be an exhibition of great wrestling. With that being said, the X division will always be Ďreadableí because of this, but now your challenge is to make me care. At the moment I just think itís a match to read, but I have no emotional investment into the characters at all, because you havenít put any time into them. Iím interested to see if you will change things up to make me care about these talented guys as a reader. A good win for Team USA though, who I completely expect to win. A few other random thoughts: I find it rather ironic that a guy named Sonjay Dutt is in team USA . Also, my mouth is already watering at the idea of Shelley/Liger that should be AMAZING.

LOVED this segment with Brown losing his shit at Jarrett. Not so much because the segment was epic in itself, but because Jarrett/Brown has been building for so long slowly. They have argued and then made up numerous times already though, so Iíll wait and see where you go from here. Still, this angle, even when just being an underlay to other angles, has been brilliant since the start of this thread. You deserve credit for it. Oh, and at the you could get him another watch line, gold.

Another one of my favourite parts of this thread since theyíve came into play has been these NEXT FILE videos with Gen Next and Nash absolutely epic. The way you write these arrogant pricks is hilarious. Nash being into younger women and his apparent 720 splash was hilarious, whilst you still managed to get the point across of the team gloating because they all succeeded at Lockdown. Great segment, man.

Main event time, and Iím really looking forward to this one. It has great match written all over it. The elimination of Team 3D was orchestrated really well by LAX, probably setting up a feud between the two teams later on. I definitely feel like you made the correct decision getting rid of the old guys first, as realistically, they are stale as fuck. Youíre probably going to have to change something up with them to continue to have them readable. Even now that they just arenít champions, your tag division looks so much more appealing. Jesus Christ. Styles and Daniels ABSOLUTELY dominated LAX, Iím not too sure I liked the easiness in which they got through LAX, which sometimes happens when youíve got two big names singles stars as a team. The final two teams had a solid run as well, but it felt like Styles and Daniels were ALWAYS getting the win. If I wanted to be really critical, I could even say that having them have an interview earlier in the show, but no other teams getting one, had all the focus on them already. So I Knew they were going to win. Maybe just something to keep in mind for future preference.

Dissension continues to build with Team Canada. That was all written pretty well here, and it looks like it wonít be long at all before Petey Williams joins Eric Young. The one thing about this interview, it was just strangely positioned on the show. Considering the faction donít have any sort of match tonight, itís weird that they would just have a scheduled interview after the main event.

Christians start on the microphone was okay, recapping what went down at the PPV, and also selling the injury from the fall off the stage. Solid stuff, although it did feel a little glossed over. I felt as if maybe you could have gone into a little more detail in regards to how brutal Abyssí offense was. Once James Mitchell and Abyss made their presence felt, something seemed a little off about Christian. I couldnít imagine him being the type of guy who just wanted to keep the title, especially after everything thatís gone down so the whole ďIím the champion arenít IĒ line felt really off for me. Besides that, Mitchell, as usual, was brilliant, really selling the match and now itís set up. MONSTER BALL match should be BRUTAL. Nice segment to end the show.

One thing I just wanted to mention that Iíve noticed throughout the thread, but I felt the PPV wasnít the right time to bring it up. You seem to fall into the trap of having wrestlers book their own matches, this is where Jim Cornette should confirm the match, or the commentators confirm theyíve got word from the back that the match is official. Or maybe even an announcement on the website after the show, either way, I think thatís something that you need to get out of the habit of doing. Sometimes itís the little things that count.

Overall, a solid enough show coming off of the PPV. Iím still really interested to see just where you go with the whole Joe and Sting potential alliance, and Generation Next continue to be a massive highlight for me. Youíve definitely got some work to do, but youíre well and truly on the right track, keep it up. Iím enjoying the thread.

TNA iMPACT! - May 4th, 2006; Orlando, Florida

“Since YOU ain’t got MY back… I ain’t got YOURS.”

THIS IS TNA, THE NEW FACE OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING…

The opening video plays, and the camera cuts into the iMPACT! Zone, as the pyro goes off and the camera pans the crowd who are holding up their signs and chanting "TNA!".

Mike Tenay: Tonight on iMPACT!, the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage, faces Team Canada’s Bobby Roode!! Plus, we’ll hear from Jeff Jarrett, the World X Cup continues and The Phenomenal Angels, 'The Phenomenal' AJ Styles and 'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels, are in action!! iMPACT! on Spike TV starts NOW!!

***SIMON SAYS*** The Diamonds In The Rough walk out, getting heat from the crowd. Simon Diamond, David Young and Elix Skipper all pose individually on the stage before making their way down the ramp and into the ring, all posing again.

***I AM/MANSON***

The Phenomenal Angels
emerge from pyro rain on the stage to a big pop from the crowd. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels lift their hoods back from their sleeveless jackets and pose before making their way down the ramp, high-fiving some fans, and entering the ring, where they pose again.

1 - The Diamonds In The Rough w/Simon Diamond vs. The Phenomenal Angels

AJ Styles and Elix Skipper get us started in this opening match. Skipper and Styles circle each other around the ring for a few moments before locking up. After a few seconds, Skipper grabs AJ’s left arm and wrenches it around before applying a wrist lock. Styles rolls forward along the mat and kips back up to his feet, moving behind Skipper, slipping out of the wrist lock, and grabbing him by the waist before lifting him up, rotating around and slamming Elix down to the mat on his front. AJ then applies a headlock. Skipper makes it back to his feet a few moments later and pushes Styles away into the ropes.

AJ comes back and runs underneath Skipper who leapfrogs over him before running off the ropes again. Styles comes back and jumps over Elix who lies on his front on the mat before running off the ropes once again. Skipper, thinking that AJ will come back again, leaps into the air and goes for a dropkick, but Styles anticipates it and holds onto the ropes, resulting in Elix crashing back down to the mat. Skipper sits up and looks angry with Styles for embarrassing him, before swiftly getting back to his feet. Elix runs at AJ, who spins his left leg around one-hundred-and-eighty degrees and sweeps Skipper’s legs from behind, flooring him.

Styles goes for a knee drop, but Skipper rolls out of the way, so AJ rolls forward as soon as he hits the mat. Both men quickly get back to their feet and Skipper runs off the ropes, but when he comes back Styles hits him with a MOONSAULT DROPKICK!! The crowd explodes with cheers and AJ gets to his feet, pumping his fists. Styles gets Skipper back to his feet and hits him with a handful of knife-edge chops to the chest, drawing “woooo”s from the crowd. AJ Irish whips Elix into the corner of the ring. Styles runs at Skipper, but gets a mule kick to the mid-section. Skipper quickly climbs out onto the ring apron, SLINGSHOTS HIMSELF OVER THE ROPES, and hits Styles with a LEG DROP to the back of the head!! Skipper rolls Styles over onto his back and makes the cover:

1…

2…

Styles kicks out. Skipper gets AJ to his feet and takes him to the corner where David Young is stood. Skipper tags Young into the match and Young takes over, delivering a knee to the mid-section of Styles. Young applies a headlock to AJ with his left arm and uses his right hand to deliver some blows to the head of “The Phenomenal One”. Young Irish whips Styles into the ropes before bending over, looking to go for a back body drop. However, AJ anticipates it and BACKFLIPS OVER YOUNG, sliding across his back. Young turns around and Styles rocks him with a forearm to the face before running off the ropes again, but when he comes back Young grabs him, AND THROWS HIM OVER HIS HEAD WITH A BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX!! Young jumps onto AJ and makes the cover:

1…

2…

Styles kicks out again. Young sits AJ up and places his knee against Styles’ back before grabbing his arms and pulling them backwards, applying immense pressure to AJ’s arms. Styles is in visible pain, but eventually manages to stand up, at which point Young lets go of AJ’s arms, wraps his hands around Styles’ waist, AND THROWS HIM OVER HIS HEAD WITH A RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX… BUT AJ FLIPS BACKWARDS AND LANDS ON HIS FEET!! The crowd applaud the athleticism of Styles, and Young turns around, running at AJ, who leaps into the air, wraps his legs around Young’s head, and sends Young through the ropes and out of the ring with a HURRICANRANA!!

Skipper then enters the ring, but so does Christopher Daniels, and the two former Triple X partners come face-to-face in the middle of the ring, both men freezing. The staredown doesn’t last for long though, as Skipper goes for a clothesline, but Daniels ducks it and hits Elix with some forearms to the face before throwing him over the top rope and out of the ring!! Skipper joins Young on the outside and Daniels then climbs out onto the ring apron. As soon as Skipper and Young get back up, Daniels jumps onto the ropes and springboards off them, TAKING OUT SKIPPER AND YOUNG WITH A SPRINGBOARD SPLIT-LEGGED MOONSAULT!!

The crowd explodes with cheers, and Daniels gets to his feet, posing as Styles stands in the ring nodding his head. Daniels re-enters the ring and says to AJ “Let’s see what you’ve got!”, before returning to his corner. Styles waits for Skipper and Young to get back to their feet, and when they do, AJ runs off the ropes, charges across the ring, AND FLIES OVER THE ROPES, TAKING OUT SKIPPER AND YOUNG WITH THE FOSBURY FLOP!!!!

The crowd goes WILD, chanting “TNA!” after that incredible display. AJ slaps his chest, shouting “THAT’S HOW WE DO IT!” as Daniels watches on with a smirk on his face and we go to our first commercial break of the night.

{Commercials}

Back on iMPACT!, Daniels and Young are in the ring. Young runs off the ropes and comes back into Daniels, who lifts him up, and hits Young with a BACKBREAKER!! Daniels gets to his feet and looks at the hard camera, pointing at it and shouting “that’s a REAL backbreaker, Roderick Strong!”, whilst Young crawls towards his corner and tags Skipper into the match. Elix jumps over the ropes and into the ring and runs at Daniels, who goes for a kick to the mid-section, but Skipper catches his boot. Elix spins Daniels around three-hundred-and-sixty degrees before scooping him up, but Daniels slips off his shoulder.

Daniels turns Skipper around and lifts him onto his shoulders, but Elix fights out of it and lands on his feet behind Daniels. “The Fallen Angel” turns around and throws a right hand, but Skipper dodges it with a matrix evasion, before grabbing Daniels from behind, driving him forwards into the ropes and then rolling him up backwards, making the cover:

1…

2…

Daniels kicks out. Both men get back to their feet and Skipper throws a crescent kick, but Daniels ducks it, lifts Skipper up and goes for a SPIN-OUT POWERBOMB… BUT SKIPPER COUNTERS IT INTO A HURRICANRANA!! Daniels gets back to his feet, only to be rocked by a SPIN KICK from Skipper, who then moves behind Daniels, hooks his arms, AND CONNECTS WITH A BRIDGING DRAGON SUPLEX!! The cover is made:

1…

2…

NO!! Styles enters the ring and breaks up the count!! AJ is sent back to his corner, as Skipper gets Daniels to his feet. Skipper takes Daniels to the corner where Young is stood and tags Young in. Young enters the ring and wrenches Daniels’ arm around, before pulling him in for a headlock. A few moments later, Daniels pushes Young away into the ropes, and when he comes back, Daniels lifts him onto his shoulders, AND HITS YOUNG WITH A DEATH VALLEY DRIVER!! Daniels then makes his way across the mat towards his corner, where Styles is eager to get into the match… AND DANIELS MAKES THE TAG TO STYLES!!

AJ quickly enters the ring, and as soon as Young gets to his feet he is bombarded by forearms to the face from Styles. AJ goes for an Irish whip, but Young reverses it into one of his own, sending Styles into the ropes. AJ comes back and slides through Young’s legs before getting back up, and when Young turns around, STYLES NAILS HIM WITH THE PEL… KICK!! Young is rocked, and AJ then places his head in between his legs before striking his signature pose, signalling for the Styles Clash. Skipper senses this and steps into the ring, but Daniels does as well, and he runs across the ring, CLOTHESLINING SKIPPER OVER THE TOP ROPE AND OUT OF THE RING!! Meanwhile, Styles lifts Young up by his legs, AND NAILS YOUNG WITH THE STYLES CLASH!! AJ turns Young over onto his back and makes the cover:

1…

2…

3!!

Winners - The Phenomenal Angels @ 10:12.

Styles gets to his feet, and he and Daniels have their hands raised by the referee to a great reaction from the crowd.

Mike Tenay: The Phenomenal Angels get the victory, and boy do ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles and ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels look ready for Sacrifice!!

Don West: It’s still surreal to see these guys teaming together, Mike, with all the great matches they’ve had AGAINST each other, but in ten days’ time they could become our new NWA World Tag Team Champions!!

Daniels and Styles play to the crowd a little more, before leaving the ring. Once they have departed, Diamond, holding a microphone, steps into the ring with Skipper, Skipper helping Young to his feet.

Simon Diamond: David… Simon’s got some good news… and some bad news.

~ Diamond places his hand on the shoulder of the confused Young.

Simon Diamond: The good news is… you’re no longer on probation in The Diamonds in the Rough.

~ Young smiles, liking that news.

Simon Diamond: The bad news is…

~ Diamond pauses, as a slight smirk appears on his face…

… BEFORE LOW BLOWING YOUNG WITH A KICK TO THE GROIN!!!!

Don West: WHAAAAAT??!!

Mike Tenay: SIMON DIAMOND JUST LOW BLOWED DAVID YOUNG!!!!

~ Young sinks to his knees as the crowd boo, before a scowling Diamond shoves him face-first into the ground as Skipper watches on with his hands on his hips.

Simon Diamond: … you’re OUT of The Diamonds in the Rough!!!!

Diamond laughs, before dropping the microphone and leaving the ring with a stoic-faced Skipper as their music hits, whilst Young lies in the ring.

Mike Tenay: David Young had been on “probation” in The Diamonds in the Rough since Destination X… but Simon Diamond has decided that Young is now OUT of the group!!

Don West: Well, Simon put David on probation back at Destination X to try to change the fortunes of the group, and that didn’t happen, so now he’s GONE, period!!

Diamond and Skipper make their way up the ramp, Diamond looking relieved that he has finally rid himself of the group's 'dead weight' in Young.

*Backstage - Jim Cornette’s Office*

Jim Cornette is in his office, when America’s Most Wanted walk in with Gail Kim.

Chris Harris: Hey, Cornette!! What the hell’s goin' on?!

Jim Cornette: Sorry, Chris, but you’re gonna have to be a little more clear than that.

Chris Harris: You know EXACTLY what I’m talkin' about!! Puttin' AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels in that number-one contenders’ match last week?! So NOW, you’ve got two guys that aren’t even tag team wrestlers facin’ Generation Next at Sacrifice for those NWA World Tag Team Championships!!

Jim Cornette: Ya’ make a good point, Chris, but… there were three other teams in that match, including you two, and they beat you guys to win that damn match!! So if ya’ don’t like it, YA’ SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHIN’ ABOUT IT LAST WEEK!!

~ Harris almost loses his cool, but is held back by Storm.

Jim Cornette: But I’ll tell ya’ what. In ten days at Sacrifice, we’re gonna have ourselves another number-one contenders’ match, with the winners challengin’ for the NWA World Tag Team Championships at our celebration of four years of Total Nonstop Action Wrestlin', Slammiversary!!

It’ll be The Naturals… versus The Latin American Exchange… versus Team 3D… versus America’s Most Wanted!!

~ Harris, Storm and Kim all look content with that decision.

Jim Cornette: Is that enough for ya’?

Chris Harris: Thank you.

The trio leave the room, and Cornette exhales, shaking his head.

{Commercials}

***OH CANADA*** Johnny Devine and Tyson Dux of Team Canada make their way out to heat from the crowd, simply because they’re using Team Canada’s theme. Devine and Dux, both waving Canadian flags, walk down the ramp and enter the ring, entering the ring and climbing to the second rope in opposite corners to wave their flags.

***TEAM JAPAN*** Hirooki Goto and Minoru Tanaka, representing Team Japan, walk out, not getting much of a reaction. Goto and Tanaka, both waving Japanese flags, make their way down the ramp and into the ring, displaying their flags on the second rope in opposite corners.

2 - World X Cup; Round One
Team Canada (Johnny Devine & Tyson Dux)
vs. Team Japan (Hirooki Goto & Minoru Tanaka)

Devine and Tanaka get us started, locking up. After a few moments, Devine applies a standing headlock. Tanaka drops to one knee, as does Devine who keeps the headlock intact, and Tanaka slips out of it before lifting Devine onto his shoulders and planting him on the mat with a fireman’s carry slam. Tanaka jumps onto Devine to make the cover, but before the referee can begin the count Devine throws him over his head. Both men get back to their feet, and Devine runs at Tanaka, but gets taken down with an arm drag.

Both get back up, and Tanaka hits Devine with another arm drag. Devine gets back up again and Tanaka grabs his arm, wrenching it around before pulling him in for a back kick to the mid-section. Tanaka then runs off the ropes, but when he comes back Devine lifts him onto his shoulders, runs forward and hits Tanaka with a ROLLING FIREMAN’S CARRY SLAM!! Devine ends up near the corner where Tyson Dux is stood, and Devine tags Dux in. Dux jumps over the ropes and enters the ring, running over to Tanaka and hitting him with a snap elbow drop.

Dux gets Tanaka back to his feet, only to take him back down to the mat with a snapmare. Dux runs off the ropes, and when he comes back he goes for a boot to the face, but Tanaka lies flat on the mat, avoiding it. Tanaka then reaches his legs back over his head and wraps them around Dux’s waist, before elevating his upper body up, AND HITTING DUX WITH A LEG-TRAP POWERBOMB!! The crowd applaud that incredible maneuver, as Tanaka makes the cover:

1…

2…

Devine enters the ring and breaks up the pin!! Devine is sent back to his corner by the referee. Tanaka gets Dux to his feet and takes him to the corner where Hirooki Goto is stood. Tanaka sets Dux up against the turnbuckles before tagging Goto in. Goto enters the ring, and LASHES OUT at Dux with a VICIOUS open-handed chop to the chest!! Dux is in visible discomfort after that one, and Goto follows up with a SPINNING HEEL KICK!! Goto brings Dux into the middle of the ring and moves behind him, applying a waist lock and looking for a German Suplex. Dux keeps himself grounded though, and slips out of the waist lock, moving behind Goto and applying one of his own.

Dux drives Goto into the corner of the ring before rolling backwards, looking to roll Goto up, but Goto holds onto the ropes. Dux gets back up and charges at Goto, who grabs him by the head and slams him face-first into the top turnbuckle!! Goto then lifts Dux to the top rope, facing away from the ring, before grabbing him by the neck, AND HITTING DUX WITH A ROPE-HUNG NECKBREAKER!! Goto pulls Dux further into the middle of the ring before making the cover:

1…

2…

Devine breaks up the pin AGAIN!! Goto is not happy, as he gets to his feet, AND GRABS DEVINE BY THE HAIR, stopping him from leaving the ring!! Devine pleads with Goto to let him go, and the referee gets between them, breaking them up. Goto turns his attention back to Dux and gets him to his feet, but with the extra time to recover thanks to Devine, Dux kicks Goto in the mid-section, places his head between his legs, hooks his arms, and hits Goto with a DOUBLE-UNDERHOOK SUPLEX!! Dux gets to his feet and heads to the corner, tagging in Devine.

Devine enters the ring with a smirk on his face and talks trash to Goto while he is down, as he hits him with stomps to the mid-section. Devine sits Goto up and applies a reverse chinlock. The crowd, who have decided to support Team Japan, get behind Goto, clapping their hands together. Goto makes it back to his feet several moments later and hits Devine with some elbows to the mid-section, but Devine holds on, so Goto lifts him up, and hits him with a BACK SUPLEX!! Goto gets Devine back up and Irish whips him into the corner where Tanaka is stood, before charging forward and flattening Devine with a CLOTHESLINE!!

Goto then makes the tag to Tanaka, who enters the ring and takes a few steps back before charging towards Devine in the corner, and hitting him with a FLYING BACK ELBOW!! Tanaka brings Devine into the middle of the ring and gets him in position, before hitting him with a NORTHERN LIGHTS SUPLEX… BEFORE FLOATING OVER INTO A MOUNT… AND TRANSITIONING INTO A CROSS ARMBREAKER!! Dux enters the ring, but before he can break the hold up, DEVINE TAPS OUT!!

Winners - Team Japan @ 4:57.

Tanaka gets to his feet, and he and Goto have their hands raised by the referee to a decent reaction from the crowd.

Mike Tenay: Team Japan get the victory over Team Canada, and that gives them one point to put them joint-top of the standings with Team USA!!

Dux checks on Devine, as Goto and Tanaka leave the ring, collecting their Japanese flags and waving them in the air on their way up the ramp.

*Backstage - Interview Area*

Shane Douglas
is with Generation Next and Kevin Nash.

Shane Douglas: I’m here with Generation Next and Kevin Nash, and Alex Shelley-

~ Shelley stops Douglas, whispering something in his ear.

Shane Douglas: Right, ‘Total Nonstop’ Alex Shelley, TNA X Division Champion and esteemed leader of Team Shelley…

~ Shelley nods his head approvingly.

Shane Douglas: We just saw Team Japan get the victory over Team Canada in the World X Cup, which puts them at the top of the standings along with your team.

Alex Shelley: They did? I must have missed that, I was too busy admiring this little bundle of joy over my shoulder.

~ Shelley gazes at his title over his shoulder lovingly.

Alex Shelley: Oh, right, World X Cup. Yeah, Team Japan won, that’s great, but we all know who’s gonna win this tournament, and that’s Team Shelley, or as TNA management insists on calling it, Team USA. Believe me, I’ve asked. You all know Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt as a bunch of bums, but with my leadership… well, they’ll do a good enough job not to screw the pooch.

Shane Douglas: As for you, Austin Aries and Roderick Strong, you’ll defend your NWA World Tag Team Championships in ten days at Sacrifice against The Phenomenal Angels, the dream team of ‘The Phenomenal’ AJ Styles and ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels.

Austin Aries: (Chuckles) ‘The dream team’... do you know what dreams are, Shane? They’re the things that women all over the world have about Generation Next every night, especially Roderick.

~ The rest of the group nod with smirks on their faces.

Austin Aries: But more importantly… they’re fantasies. They’re not real. And ‘The Phenomenal Angels’ as you like to call them… they’re not a real tag team. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels, two of, if not THE two greatest X Division wrestlers we’ve ever seen in TNA, no question about it. But tag team wrestling is a whole different ball game, and when it comes to tag team wrestling… nobody does it better than Generation Next. And that’s exactly what everybody’s flavor of the month, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels, are gonna find out in ten days at Sacrifice.

~ Nash pats Aries on the shoulders with both hands.

Austin Aries: Y’know what, if you think about it, ‘the dream team’ is actually a pretty good name for ‘em. Because dreaming… is the closest AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels will ever come to taking these NWA World Tag Team Championships from us.

Everyone in the group grins, before walking away. Moments later, LARRY ZBYSZKO and MATT MORGAN enter the shot, Zbyszko walking rather gingerly.

Shane Douglas: Uh, Larry Zbyszko, Matt Morgan!! Good to see ya’!!

Larry Zbyszko: Good to see you too, Shane, but I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news to report.

~ Douglas is intrigued by Zbyszko’s statement.

Larry Zbyszko: As you know, eleven nights ago at Lockdown, I was in a gruelling steel cage match with Raven, and as you can tell… my body paid the price. So-

Shane Douglas: Was it really that bad?

Larry Zbyszko: YES, SHANE!! IT WAS!! That match took a considerable physical toll on me, which is why… I am officially retiring from in-ring competition. You hear that, Cornette?! RETIRED!! DONE!! No more using loopholes to book me in matches, you son-of-a-BITCH!!

~ Morgan nods in agreement.

Larry Zbyszko: As far as Raven goes… he’s not gonna get away with this. But since I’m now retired from in-ring competition… it’s up to Matt here… to make Raven pay.

Morgan nods again with a smirk on his face, before following the hobbling Zbyszko out of the picture.

***MY WORLD***

Jeff Jarrett
walks out, looking to be in a sour mood tonight, getting a lot of heat from the crowd as per usual.

Mike Tenay: Last week, we saw Jeff Jarrett and 'The Alpha Male' Monty Brown launch an attack on 'The Samoan Submission Machine' Samoa Joe, but when 'The Icon' Sting showed up, Jarrett got well out of dodge, leaving Brown in the ring to receive a Muscle Buster from Joe.

Don West: We saw Monty confront Jeff in the locker room last week, and he was NOT happy about it at all, Mike!

Wearing a pale blue collared shirt and white pants, Jarrett walks down the ramp, no pyro for a change, and enters the ring, taking a microphone.

Jeff Jarrett:

~ Jarrett raises the microphone to his mouth to talk, but the boos of the crowd are too loud.

Jeff Jarrett: I’ve got somethin’ to say…

~ The crowd continue to boo.

Jeff Jarrett: … and it’s about your lil’ golden boy, Samoa Joe, so ya’ might wanna listen up!!

~ Loud cheers when Joe are mentioned, as the crowd begin to chant his name, Jarrett reacting by shaking his head in disgust.

Jeff Jarrett: I don’t think I need to tell ya’ this, Joe… but son… you ain’t in my good books right now.

~ “Ohhhh”s from the crowd, mocking Jarrett.

Jeff Jarrett: ‘Cause last week… you put your hands on a very, very good friend of mine… Monty Brown.

~ Cheers from the crowd.

Jeff Jarrett: So Joe… lemme’ make somethin’ clear to you. Monty is like a brother to me…

~ The shameless pandering to Brown by Jarrett continues, and the crowd know it, booing him.

Jeff Jarrett: … and I can’t help but think that you attacked Monty last week… to send a message to 'The King of the Mountain'. If you’ve got a problem with me, Joe… then leave Monty out of it… and try puttin’ your hands on me instead.

~ Deep down, Jarrett most likely hopes that WON’T be the case. The crowd cheer though, wanting to see it happen.

Jeff Jarrett: So Joe, I-

***POUNCE***

Jarrett is cut off as MONTY BROWN walks out, getting a VERY mixed reaction from the crowd.

Mike Tenay: Well speak of the devil, here comes ‘The Alpha Male’ Monty Brown!!

Brown makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring, taking a microphone. Jarrett opens his arms for a hug, but is shot down by Brown.

Monty Brown: Jeff… stop. Just STOP.

~ Jarrett looks at Brown in confusion.

Monty Brown: I know you, Jeff. I know what goes in that head of yours. And I know… that you don’t give a damn about me, and you don't give a damn about America's Most Wanted. This little group of yours is called Planet Jarrett for a reason, and that’s because there’s only one guy in this world that you care about, Jeff… and that’s you.

~ Jarrett shakes his head, protesting Brown’s accusation.

Monty Brown: And it took me until you came out here a couple of weeks ago in front everybody and gave me that big, shiny watch to realize… that you’re afraid.

~ Big pop from the crowd, as Jarrett shakes his head.

Monty Brown: You’re AFRAID of ‘The Alpha Male’!! You shake just a little bit in your BOOTS whenever anybody says my NAME, Jeff!! And then you come out here, you say I’m your best friend, you say I’m like a brother to you… and all because you don’t want me to WHOOP YOUR ASS!!

~ Cheers from the crowd, as Jarrett visibly gulps.

Monty Brown: But Jeff, you can relax… ‘cause that’s not gonna happen.

~ Boos from the crowd.

Monty Brown: Smashin’ a guitar over my head? Lookin’ back now, I know that was a mistake… ‘cause there’s no chance in HELL that you’d smash that thing over my head on purpose, ‘cause it would be the biggest mistake of your life.

~ Cheers from the crowd.

Monty Brown: Costin’ me the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at Destination X? Hey, you were in that match too, I don’t blame you. I stopped you from winnin’ that match too.

~ Jarrett nods in agreement.

Monty Brown: So as far as I’m concerned, right now… you ain’t done anythin’ to make me wanna hurt you, Jeff.

~ Boos from the crowd, as Jarrett breathes a visible sigh of relief.

Monty Brown: After all, what I'm about to say… is gonna hurt you enough.

~ Cheers from the crowd.

Monty Brown: Y'see, Jeff, you made it pretty damn clear last week… that you’re only in this for yourself.

~ Jarrett shakes his head in protest.

Monty Brown: Now don’t get it twisted, ‘The Alpha Male’ can fight his own battles… but the fact of the matter is, you made the decision, A CONSCIOUS DECISION… to leave me in the ring with Samoa Joe and Sting last week. Now for the past seven days, I’ve been askin’ myself the same question over and over again; why the hell should I be a part of your group, why the hell should I have your back… if you ain’t got mine? And I-

Jeff Jarrett: I DO!! I DO have your back, Monty, alwa-

Monty Brown: You cut me off again, and I’ll have myself a reason to hurt you.

~ Big pop from the crowd, as Jarrett holds his hands up in innocence.

Monty Brown: I’ve been askin’ myself that same question over and over again… and I just can’t find a good reason. So Jeff… since YOU ain’t got MY back… I ain’t got YOURS.

~ Big cheers from the crowd.

Monty Brown: So as far as Planet Jarrett goes…

~ Jarrett’s expression suggest that he’s fearing the worst here…

Monty Brown: … I’m done.

~ HUGE pop from the crowd!! Jarrett is shocked, as he places his hands on his head.

Don West: WOW!!!!

Mike Tenay: CAN YOU BELIEVE IT, DON??!! MONTY BROWN HAS LEFT PLANET JARRETT!!!!

~ Brown drops his microphone and leaves the ring, ignoring Jarrett who is shaking his head violently.

Jeff Jarrett: NO!! NO!! Monty, ya’ don’t understand!! I- I- I’ll give ya’ ANYTHIN’!! I’ll buy ya’ a new CAR, a HOUSE, SOMETHIN’!!

Brown pays no attention to Jarrett’s pleas, and gets half-way up the ramp…

???: HOLD IT!! JUST A SECOND!!

… WHEN JIM CORNETTE WALKS OUT!!

Mike Tenay: It’s the Director of Authority, Jim Cornette!!

The crowd cheer for the Director of Authority, but Brown looks perplexed as to why Cornette has decided to appear, whilst Jarrett stands with his hands on the ropes, looking down at the floor, shaken by Brown’s revelation.

Jim Cornette: Monty… kudos to you for leavin’ Planet Jarrett, and quite frankly, I don’t blame ya’. But with that in mind… I’ve got a feelin’ ya’ might not like what I’m about to say!!

~ Brown rubs his jaw, waiting to hear what Cornette has to say.

Jim Cornette: And the reason I say that is ‘cause before ya’ decided to drop this lil’ bombshell on us…

I booked a TAG TEAM MATCH for Sacrifice!! And Monty… Jeff… YOU’RE GONNA BE TEAMIN’ UP!!

~ Huge cheers from the crowd, and Brown places his hands on his hips, shaking his head, as Jarrett’s head slowly rises in the ring.

Jim Cornette: So on May 14th at Sacrifice, it’s gonna be Jeff Jarrett and Monty Brown…

… VERSUS ‘THE ICON’ STING…

~ Big pop for Sting, but Brown and Jarrett are FAR from pleased.

Jim Cornette: … AND ‘THE SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE’ SAMOA JOE!!!!

HUGE POP FROM THE CROWD!! Cornette grins before leaving as his music hits, as Brown looks furious, and Jarrett, under a lot of stress right now, places his hands on the back of his head.

Don West: I think that’s the LAST thing Jeff Jarrett and Monty Brown wanted to hear, Mike!!

Mike Tenay: YOU’VE GOT THAT RIGHT, DON!! JEFF JARRETT AND ‘THE ALPHA MALE’ MONTY BROWN, NO LONGER ALLIES, TEAMING UP AGAINST ‘THE ICON’ STING AND ‘THE SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE’ SAMOA JOE AT SACRIFICE!!!!

Brown turns around and locks eyes with Jarrett for a few moments, both speechless, before Brown swiftly turns back around and storms up the ramp.

*Backstage - Samoa Joe’s Locker Room*

Jeremy Borash
is stood outside the locker room of Samoa Joe.

Jeremy Borash: We just heard from Jim Cornette that in eleven days, Sacrifice on May 14th, live on pay-per-view, that Jeff Jarrett will team with his now-FORMER ally, ‘The Alpha Male’ Monty Brown, who we saw LEAVE Planet Jarrett moments ago, to face ‘The Icon’ Sting and ‘The Samoan Submission Machine’ Samoa Joe!!

~ Borash knocks on Joe’s locker room door. Moments later, Joe walks out, wearing a brown T-shirt over his ring gear, and folds his arms, not looking in the best of spirits.

Jeremy Borash: Samoa Joe, teaming with Sting at Sacrifice against Jeff Jarrett and Monty Brown, Monty leaving Planet Jarrett… what are your thoughts?

Samoa Joe: If you want somebody’s thoughts on Monty and Jeff’s problems… you’ve come to the wrong man, JB, ‘cause I don’t give a damn… and the same goes for teaming with Sting at Sacrifice. Hell, I’d rather face ‘em by myself. All I care about… is finishing what I started at Lockdown.

Joe stares sternly at the camera for a brief moment before walking back into his locker room, emphatically slamming the door shut behind him and startling Borash in the process.

***OH CANADA***

Bobby Roode
walks out with Scott D’Amore, getting heat from the crowd. D’Amore waves the Canadian flag as Roode raises his hands in the air, shouting “WHO’S THE GREATEST?!” whilst his pyro goes off. Roode walks down the ramp with D’Amore in tow, entering the ring and posing again whilst D’Amore shouts at the camera on the outside.

***TAKE OVER***

The NWA World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage walks out to a big pop from the crowd. Wearing a red and black jumpsuit with the hood over his head, Cage points to the crowd and slaps his chest as he walks down the ramp. Cage enters the ring and climbs to the second rope in the corner, lifting his hood back and pointing to the crowd before unzipping his jumpsuit to reveal his title around his waist, his ribs taped after being thrown off the stage by Abyss at Lockdown.

3 - Main Event;
Bobby Roode w/Scott D’Amore
vs. NWA World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage

The bell rings, and Cage and Roode lock eyes as they circle each other around the ring for a few moments before locking up. Cage drives Roode backwards into the turnbuckles in the corner, but cannot go any further, as the referee gets in between them to enforce the rope break. Cage takes a few steps back, and Roode comes out of the corner before they lock up again. Cage moves behind Roode and applies a waist lock. Roode tries to break out of it, but to no avail, and moments later Christian lifts Roode off the ground, rotates around and plants him on his front on the mat.

Cage applies a reverse chinlock on the ground. Roode gets back to his feet moments later and pushes Christian away into the ropes. Cage comes back and floors Roode with a shoulder block, before Roode rolls out of the ring, not looking happy at all with how he has started this match, as the crowd jeer him. Scott D’Amore offers Roode some words of encouragement as Cage stands in the ring with his hands on his hips, looking a little cheesed off. Roode climbs onto the ring apron before stepping into the ring, and he and Cage circle each other around the ring for a few moments before approaching each other to lock up, but Roode instead catches Christian off guard with a kick to the mid-section, Cage wincing after a shot to his injured ribs.

Roode applies a standing headlock, keeping it locked in until Cage pushes him forwards into the corner. Christian runs at Roode, but receives a back elbow to the face. Roode throws Cage into the corner and hits him with a couple of right hands, before taking a few steps back. Roode charges towards Cage, but Christian steps out of the way and Roode crashes into the turnbuckles!! Cage turns Roode around and hits him with a handful of knife-edge chops to the chest, each receiving “woooo”s from the crowd. Christian brings Roode into the middle of the ring and hits him with a couple of forearms to the face, before running off the ropes.

Cage comes back and Roode bends over, looking to go for a back body drop. Christian sees it coming, and stops in his tracks right in front of Roode, electing to wait for his opponent to stand upright again as he looks around the iMPACT! Zone with his hands on his hips, the crowd laughing and applauding. As soon as Roode returns to an upright position, Cage rocks him with an uppercut, sending the Team Canada member staggering away into the ropes. Christian then charges forward, AND CLOTHESLINES ROODE OVER THE TOP ROPE AND OUT OF THE RING!!

Roode crashes down to the floor, as a concerned D’Amore looks on. Meanwhile, Cage eagerly waits for Roode to get back up, bouncing up and down on his toes. When Roode gets back to his feet, Christian runs off the ropes, charges across the ring, AND HITS ROODE WITH A BASEBALL SLIDE!! Roode is sent flying backwards into the steel guardrail, and Cage leaves the ring, continuing on the front foot. Christian hits Roode, up against the guardrail, with some right hands, but stops when D’Amore approaches them. Cage leaves Roode and turns his attention to D’Amore, who holds his hands up in innocence and backs away as soon as Christian takes a step towards him.

Meanwhile, Roode regroups, and when Cage turns to face him, ROODE CHARGES FORWARD AND SENDS HIM CRASHING DOWN TO THE CONCRETE FLOOR WITH A CLOTHESLINE!! Christian’s head bounces off the floor with a sickening thud, as a smirk emerges on the face of D’Amore. Roode raises his hands in the air, shouting “WHO’S THE GREATEST?!” as a means of attracting heat from the crowd, before hitting Cage with a couple of stomps to the mid-section, targeting the ribs. Roode rolls back into the ring, with the referee’s count at six. Christian slowly begins to get back to his feet, and on the count of nine, CAGE GETS BACK IN THE RING!!

Roode is not happy at all, and as soon as Cage is back in the ring he is bombarded with stomps to the back by Roode. We go to our final commercial break of the night.

{Commercials}

Back from the break, Roode is still in control against Cage, with the NWA World Heavyweight Champion down on the mat. Roode runs off the ropes, before coming down on “The Instant Classic” with a knee drop!! Roode gets Cage back to his feet and Irish whips him forwards into the corner. Roode runs towards him, but is met with a back kick to the mid-section. Christian then jumps to the middle rope, before SUNSET FLIPPING over Roode and pulling him down for the cover, but Roode rolls out of it, before hitting the seated Cage with a dropkick to the sternum!!

Roode gets Cage to his feet and takes him to the corner, lifting him to the top rope. Roode climbs up there and applies a front facelock, looking for a superplex. However, Christian fights back with some blows to the mid-section, before lifting Roode up in a vertical suplex position, AND DROPPING ROODE ON THE MAT!! The crowd explodes with cheers as Roode crashes into the canvas chest-first, before rolling over onto his back. Cage regains his bearings on the top rope, BEFORE HITTING ROODE WITH THE FROG SPLASH!! “Captain Charisma” clutches his injured ribs, evidently in pain, before he hooks the leg:

1…

2…

NO!! Roode kicks out!! A near fall there for Cage, who is now well and truly back in the match. Christian gets to his feet and gets Roode up, hitting him with some right hands. Cage runs off the ropes, and when he comes back he sees Roode ready to strike, so he slides through his legs. Christian gets back up behind Roode, applies an inverted facelock, AND HITS ROODE WITH A FALLING INVERTED DDT!! Cage makes the cover once again:

1…

2…

NO!! Roode kicks out again!! Cage gets back to his feet and begins to clap his hands together, as the crowd join in. As soon as Roode gets back to his feet, Cage grabs his arms from behind and twists him around, in position for the Unprettier, but Roode pushes Christian away. Cage comes back at Roode, going for a clothesline, but Roode ducks it, grabs him by the neck, AND HITS CHRISTIAN WITH THE ROODE AWAKENING NECKBREAKER!! This time it’s Roode who makes the cover:

1…

2…

NO!! Cage gets a shoulder up!! Yet another near fall in this match. D’Amore slams his hands against the mat, encouraging Roode, who slowly gets to his feet. Roode waits for Cage to get up, shouting “C’MON!! GET UP, YOU SON OF A BITCH!!”. Before Christian can get back to his feet though…

… ERIC YOUNG WALKS OUT ONTO THE STAGE!!

The crowd comes alive with cheers for Young, the former member of Team Canada who Roode and D’Amore together stabbed in the back at Lockdown. EY, boiling with rage, stares down Roode, who comes up to the ropes and shouts at him to stay out of his business, whilst D’Amore looks on anxiously. Roode turns his attention back to Cage… WHO SURPRISES ROODE WITH A SMALL PACKAGE!!

1…

2…

NO!! Roode kicks out!! Almost a victory out of no where for the NWA World Heavyweight Champion!! Both men get back to their feet, and Roode delivers a kick to the mid-section of Cage before running off the ropes, charging towards Cage from behind and going for the NORTHERN LARIAT, but Christian anticipates it and steps out of the way, before grabbing Roode’s arms from behind, twisting him around, AND NAILING ROODE WITH THE UNPRETTIER!! The crowd EXPLODES with cheers, and a smirk appears on the face of Young as Cage rolls Roode over onto his back, making the cover:

1…

2…

3!!

Winner - Christian Cage @ 10:17.

An exhausted Cage gets to his feet and has his hand raised by the referee to loud cheers from the crowd, as D’Amore places his hands on his head at ringside. Young nods his head contentedly, having foiled his nemesis Roode’s efforts to win the match, before making his departure.

Mike Tenay: Bobby Roode taking Christian Cage to the limit, but in the end ‘The Instant Classic’ proved why he’s the NWA World Heavyweight Champion!!

Don West: He sure did, Mike, injured ribs and all!! I think Bobby Roode was a little thrown off by the appearance of Eric Young, but- WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, LOOK OUT!!

All of a sudden, as Cage is given his NWA World Heavyweight Championship belt, which he slings over his shoulder… BAM!!

ABYSS ENTERS THE RING, AND ATTACKS CAGE FROM BEHIND!!!!

Mike Tenay: CHRISTIAN’S OPPONENT IN TEN DAYS AT SACRIFICE IN THE MONSTER’S BALL MATCH, ‘THE MONSTER’ ABYSS!!!!

The cheers in the crowd turn to boos as Abyss knocks Cage down to the mat, bombarding him with stomps as Roode quietly rolls out of the ring and departs with D’Amore. JAMES MITCHELL, the man who controls ‘The Monster’’s every move, steps into the ring with a devious grin on his face, enjoying what he is seeing. Abyss gets an already-fatigued Cage back to his feet and Irish whips him into the ropes. Cage comes back, and Abyss lifts him up…

… AND NAILS CAGE WITH THE BLACK HOLE SLAM!!!!

Don West: OHHHH BLACK HOLE SLAM TO THE CHAMP!!!!

The boos continue as Abyss picks up Christian’s title belt, standing over Cage with the title held high above his head. Mitchell walks forward, applauding his monster’s work, before reaching into his pocket…

… and revealing a single THUMBTACK, which he places face-up on Christian’s chest.

Mike Tenay: And look at that, James Mitchell placing a thumbtack, a signature of ‘The Monster’ Abyss, on the chest of Christian Cage!!

Don West: That’s just sinister from James Mitchell right there, Mike.

Abyss’ music hits, and the broadcast ends with the image of ‘The Monster’ holding the title in the air, towering over Cage, who is laid out with a single thumbtack resting on his chest, perhaps foreshadowing the punishment awaiting our NWA World Heavyweight Champion at Sacrifice…

Mike Tenay: We’ll see you next week, for the final stop before Sacrifice!!

END OF SHOW

Default Re: 1WhoKnocks Presents Total Nonstop Action Wrestling

A pretty good contest to open the show If Iím being completely honest. Itís just smart booking to have The Phenomenal Angels get as much exposure as a tag team as possible in the lead up to Sacrifice, considering they arenít a full time tag team. The match was written pretty well and was a fun read. I was glad to see you gave these guys a decent amount of time to strut their stuff. A ten minute match on a TNA show is LONG. I LOVED the spot with Daniels performing a high risk move and then telling Styles to beat that to, keeps their rivalry at the top of our heads. And Young cops the pinfall again, continuing his falling out of favour with Simon Diamond as well. No issues with the match, and from a booking standpoint it was superb. Great start to the show man.

And finally the attack on Young happens. It was all done pretty well with the low blow, and I really do think the way youíve been teasing this since Young was placed on probation has been terrific. Obviously Young will be gunning for them now, but Iím intrigued just to see where Elix Skipper goes from here, as you didnít really give much either way. For now, just a very well executed angle, good stuff.

I quite liked the segment on first read here, with AMW being frustrated because they wonít get another shot at the titles. Cornetteís argument was standard to, and even though short, the segment flowed well. A fun read. Yet, from a booking standpoint, Iím not a huge fan of the match announced for Sacrifice. A four way should be fun to read, but realistically Team 3D and AMW have done NOTHING BUT LOSE recently, and Cornette is just gifting them another shot. I donít like that at all, it devalues the division. I feel youíve got some work to do to make these two teams credible again, especially when they are going to be in the ring with LAX, who are firing on all cylinders. Work to do from a booking standpoint here, but as I said, segment itself was still a fun read.

A decent match here, and a nice win for Team Japan for the first point of the tournament. I still think youíre going the wrong way about it in terms of emotional investment into characters involved in the World Cup, because at the moment, I could care less. Itís just coming across as a match I have to read before I get onto the good stuff.

Decent enough promo from Generation Next here. I think youíve spoilt us with the Next Files as nothing comes near those, but this was still a solid enough interview. All the guys just bragging really, typical stuff. That last line from Aries about Styles and Daniels dreaming was pretty sweet though.

at Larry retiring. Such a pussy move, suits him perfectly. This whole Raven storyline has been hugely fun so far, but I thought maybe Raven finally getting his hands on Larry would be the end of it. Obviously not. Itíll be interesting to see whether you can keep this angle to the level it was previously. A fun little segment here though.

Sacrifice is building up to be pretty sweet.

Iíve got one huge issue with this whole thread at the moment, and this whole segment here highlights that. I want to just this segment solely on its own though, so Iíll mention the issue at the end of this bit of feedback. Anyway, Jarrettís bit on the mic here was all solid enough, sucking up to Brown as he has been for the past few months. Brownís bit on the mic was AWESOME though. Youíve built the potential separation of Brown and Planet Jarrett SUPERBLY, and you did it justice with this segment here. Youíve already created the rift, now we just wait for that one last huge event which will force the two to collide. Booking 101. In the mean time though, theyíll team together at Sacrifice, nice announcement by Cornette.

INTENSE by Joe, exactly as he should be. Heís beastly in this thread, and FAST becoming the guy I want to see more than anybody else. Great stuff.

Big time main event here, and a HUGE rub for Bobby Roode allowing him to go toe to toe with the champion and push him to the limits. I thought you didnít play on Christianís injured ribs enough throughout the contest If Iím honest though. Still though, Roode looks like he would have won if it wasnít for Young, and Christian wins, but still has an excuse because of his ribs. Perfect booking, much like the opening match of the night, and youíve reminded us that Young will be after Team Canada as well.

The attack from Abyss was done well, although I must be honest, the fact they happen almost weekly means they are losing effect a little. Youíre going to have to find a new way to further Abyss feuds I think. The thumbtack being left on Christianís chest was a nice touch.

Honestly, a pretty good show, bookmarked with two REALLY STRONG matches, and a great promo between Jarrett/Brown. One issue I have with the thread as a whole though is that things are starting to feel a little stale. The tag division is a little worrying, Sting just shows up for a tag match with a different face teammate every PPV, and Christian just plays the face in peril week after week. Iím even a little worried about how you will continue Raven/Larry now as well, as thatís been going for months. It really just feels like the thread needs a shake up, needs something to freshen it up a little. The writing is fine... but some of the angles really feel like theyíre dragging. I donít mean to sound like a douche so hopefully you knock shit out of the park with Sacrifice. Iíll be reading.

Thanks, Stoj. I'll return the favour if your next show ever sees the light of day. Totally see where you're coming from as far as the 'staleness' goes. All I'll say is just wait until after Sacrifice.

5/11 iMPACT! Preview

It's the last stop before Sacrifice THIS WEEK on iMPACT!

We will hear from the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage, three days before he defends his title against 'The Monster' Abyss in Abyss' specialty match, the Monster's Ball match, at Sacrifice!

In a HUGE eight-man tag team main event, 'The Icon' Sting competes on national television for the first time in FIVE years, reuniting his team from Lethal Lockdown as he teams with The Phenomenal Angels and his partner this Sunday at Sacrifice, 'The Samoan Submission Machine' Samoa Joe, to face the NWA World Tag Team Champions, Generation Next's Austin Aries and Roderick Strong, Jeff Jarrett and 'The Alpha Male' Monty Brown, the two men who will face Joe and Sting in three days, despite Brown leaving Planet Jarrett last week!

Also, the World X Cup continues with TWO second-round matches, as Team Canada's Eric Young faces Team USA's Jay Lethal, and Team Japan's Black Tiger IV squares off against Team Mexico's Puma! As it stands, Team Japan and Team USA both have one point, whilst Team Canada and Team Mexico have none, but this week, two points up are up for grabs in both matches. Which teams will receive a boost before the conclusion of the tournament this Sunday at Sacrifice?

Tune in THIS THURSDAY at 11/10c on SPIKE TV!

I'm old, and slow. Deal with it

Christian/Abyss promo should be fine, and that eight man tag team match should be HUGE. Epic to see Generation Next getting a rub, getting to go at it with such big names as well. World X Cup matches, if anything, will be a solid read, and I'm hoping for some sort of appearance from RAVEN~!

Show should be fun, I'll be reading, as per usual.
