Default NWA:TNA - Welcome to the Revolution

National Wrestling Alliance: Total Non-Stop Action

The Fishing Trip that Changed the Industry
In March of 2001 three men took a fishing trip that would change professional wrestling as we knew it. It was a time of unrest in the wrestling world with both ECW and WCW going out of business with in the first few months of the year. WCW itself was sold to its competitor Vince McMahon and the World Wrestling Federation, there by giving the WWF a monopoly on the industry. The long fought "Monday Night War" was over. The three men who took the trip were Bob Ryder, Jerry Jarrett and his son Jeff Jarrett. Jeff was in a particular bind with out an option of where to work because he burnt his bridges in the WWF.

Naturally the trip's discussion turned to the state of wrestling. They discussed how there was no longer any competition or alternative to the WWF. How many talent wrestlers would no have no where to be exposed or get work. Bob Ryder said Television networks would be nervous about green lighting a wrestling program due to ECW/WCW going under, but if a new promotion did it right they could bypass TV all together and go straight to PPV. Little did Bob and Jerry know that this conversation that was just them talking shop would plant a seed in Jarrett's mind. He immediately began working on the concept of a PPV only Wrestling Promotion.

Within weeks, Jarrett had convinced his father and Ryder that the idea was more than just talk, that it could revolutionize the wrestling industry itself. Jarrett said they could create a product that was both something unique and new with eyes on fresh talent that could be molded into stars and something that was rooted in the tradition of the past appealing to the fans of NWA/WCW that didn't jump over and start watching WWF TV. Somehow they could combine the audiences of the fallen ECW and WCW and create a new product. Become a true alternative to what the WWF was producing and become the #2 promotion in the world.

Once a business plan was in place a meeting was set up with In Demand PPV services. Jarrett knew he needed a star and some name power going into this meeting to secure a spot so he reached out to two men who had dominated the wrestling industry for decades that weren't with the WWF at that point. The American Dream Dusty Rhodes was offered an on air role as well as becoming the head of creative and that helped lock in the one man who was unblimished by the horrid WCW booking of the dying days...a man that still had respect among wrestling fans...Sting. Sting agreed after some persuasion by Rhodes and the Jarrett's to appear on a part time basis for the new promotion.

Over the course of the year from March of 2001 to March 2002, Jarrett began to build a team and collect money from sponsors and investors in the new product. To get instant credibility and exposure across the wrestling world, Jerry Jarrett and Bob Ryder set up a deal to make the new product the face of the National Wrestling Alliance, much like JCP was in the 1980s. A deal was struck that would give the new promotion exclusive rights to both the NWA World Championship and the NWA World Tag Team Championship for the next 5 years.

Dusty Rhodes and Jeff Jarrett began assembling a creative team which included Jeremy Borash (who had been an announcer in WCW, and had been booking for the recent flop World Wrestling All-Stars that Jeff Jarrett worked for), long time wrestler/agent Terry Taylor, Ed Ferrera the former WWF/WCW writer that helped start the Attitude era and both Ryder and young writer Bill Banks rounded out the team.

Jeff Jarrett then made a choice many considered controversial as his long time friend and polarizing figure in the company Vince Russo was brought on board as a lead creative consultant. While this struck many as a worrisome news, both Jarrett and Rhodes assured them that Russo wouldn't have 100% control but would be filtered by Rhodes himself. It was Russo who helped give the PPV series its name...Total Non-Stop Action. Which would be a call sign for the unpredictability and wild ride of Live PPV as well as push the edginess of the product...because well TNA also stands for other more risqué things...get it. TNA.

The team met with In Demand PPV services to secure a PPV schedule for NWA-TNA. The meeting went successfully as In Demand was looking to expand its market and start new products. The meeting lead to a PPV deal that would last one year starting June 19th 2002 to the end of June 2003. They came up with a cheap Weekly fee of $9.95 for the product. Here is the official press release announcing the launch of the company on PPV

Quote:
Press Release | New Wrestling Promotion to debut on In Demand PPV

In Demand is proud to announce that in conjunction with DoubleJ Entertainment and the National Wrestling Alliance, a new PPV exclusive Wrestling series will launch this summer! NWA's Total Non-Stop Action will be a weekly 2 hour thrill ride that showcases the top stars of professional wrestling battling it out in the ring for the most coveted prize in the world...the NWA World Championship!

Legendary names like The American Dream Dusty Rhodes, the Icon Sting, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, Scott Hall and Jeff Jarrett will lead this new promotion to the top of the wrestling world and In Demand is proud to be able to present it to the fans for the low price of $9.95 a week. For that price you will be front row in your home to the top stars from around the world in this exciting new show!

June 19th, mark you calendars as the day NWA's Total Non-Stop Action takes to the airwaves where they'll crown a new NWA World Champion in the first ever NWA Gauntlet for the Gold match!

The first show will broadcast live from the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. And many legends of NWA's past will be on hand for this historic event. Tickets can be bought through ticket-master for this amazing event or at www.nwa-tna.com
Leading into the June 19th premiere of NWA's Total Non-Stop Action on PPV; Jeff Jarrett, Dusty Rhodes and Terry Taylor headed out all over the world scouting talent. From gyms in the mid-west to Japanese super shows to south of the boarder. The idea of the new product would be to build a core roster of reliable stars as well as have an open door policy for international stars as well as names from wrestlings past. The idea was to produce a product that featured the past, present and future of pro-wrestling!

So the question remains...can NWA-TNA make a meaningful impact on the wrestling world and become the #2 promotion in the world? Can it be an alternative to the WWF?

About this BTB

I will begin posting news updates leading into the June 19th show. This BTB is about the NWA-TNA that could have existed. I am using EWR to play this. EWR is a popular simulator that I'll use to manage my talent and inject a bit of chaos into what I'm doing. It can produce injuries that will cause me to alter my plans and may help new stars emerge than what I had planned on using. I won't be super relying on the game to write matches and stuff like that however.

I plan on doing the TNA Weekly PPV for one year and trying to get a TV deal. I plan on not just using actual TNA talent, but expanding to really make the promotion a viable contender to the void left by ECW/WCW. Former WWF/WCW/ECW talent will be present as well as top indy stars. This being EWR i'll pick up stars of the WWF that wouldn't have actually be available (but were released in game) that could really make a key difference.

I'll also not be following TNA story lines that much but will borrow some ideas. Like James Mitchell's New Church will have a role in my NWA-TNA but will have a different cast of characters than the Wall and Slash. This could be a fun experiment and I hope you enjoy it.

Default Re: NWA:TNA - Welcome to the Revolution

I always felt the NWA made a huge mistake by allowing TNA to strip the titles. Instead they should have jobbed the titles before TNA started to established stars.

Severn could have lost the belt to Scott Hall and the Shane Twins could have dropped the belts to the RoadWarriors.

I have plans stored away on my computer for this very time period with a backstory pretty much mirroring this. First show wrote, second show half wrote. Hell of a lot of fun to write this, I'll be a reader, good luck.

MORE NWA-TNA Signings News and Notes

-NWA-TNA.com reports that the promotion has reached deals with the following stars: Curt Hennig, Buff Bagwell, Psicosis, Joel Gertner, the Sinister Minister, David Young, Monty Brown and Ricky Steamboat.

-Steamboat is expected to become the NWA-TNA commissioner and act as the figure head of the company. He is not expected to wrestle.

-Controversial pick ups have included Scott Hall and Lex Luger. Luger is reported to be very out of shape and may require different ring gear than his long time trunks. However Sting pushed hard for Luger to be signed and played a huge factor in the Total Package's return to a big company. Hall was recently seen on WWF TV but was fired for bad behavior. Many question NWA-TNA's signing of Hall, however both Rhodes and Jarrett went to bat for him. Many feel this is Hall's last shot at a big time gig in wrestling.

-The X Division is being molded to act much like WCW's Cruiserweight Championship. The new division is based around that style of wrestling. Strong Style High Flying. Expect Jerry Lynn, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Rey Mysterio Jr. Psicosis, Low Ki and Super Crazy to all play parts in this division.

-The Main event for the June 19th PPV debut has been schedule to crown the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Dan Severn vacated the title after not signing a contract to appear. The main event on June 19th will see a 30 Man over the top rope Rumble that will come down to two men. Those two men will then wrestle one on one for the vacant title.

-Rumors of Bret Hart and/or Randy Savage appearing at the debut PPV are swirling. Both men are retired but it is said they may be brought into help push the new promotion.

WWF News: Releases

-In what is being called "Bloody Friday" June 7, 2002 featured a huge list of firing from the WWF. Those names included most of the developmental talent and a portion of the main roster. Included were: Randy Orton, Mark Henry, The Prototype, Doug Basham, Kenny Bolin, Chad Collyer, The Damaja, Leviathan, Payne, Justin Credible, Mike Awesome, Ivory, Big Bossman, Bull Buchanan, Shelton Benjamin, Nick Dinsmore, Rob Conway, Adam Flash, Mark Jindrak, Tommy Dreamer, Sean O'Haire, David Flair, Queen Victoria, Kimo, OG Ekmo, Matt Morgan, Jackie Gayda and Linda MIles

-NWA-TNA has not reached a deal with any of these released talent but is expected to take advantage of the releases by signing some of the young talent.

NWA-TNA News & Notes | More Roster Additions

- NWA-TNA added even more members to its growing roster just a week before its launch on In Demand PPV. They include: The Prototype, Leviathan, Sonny Siaki, Crowbar, Jorge Estrada, Jimmy Yang, Nick Dinsmore, Dawn Marie, Tylene Buck, Jasmine St. Claire, Daffney, Randy Orton, Rob Conway, Sean O'Haire and Joel Gertner.

-Stables are expected to play a part in the new NWA-TNA. James Mitchell is expected to debut his Disciples of the New Church at the first PPV. Member known thus far include former WCW star Crowbar(Devon Storm) under the new name Tempest and former WWF developmental star Leviathan(David Batista) under the name Kraken. More should be added soon.

-Other stables include the trio of the first openly gay characters Lenny, Lodi and Bruce led by mouth piece Joel Gertner known as The Rainbow Express. The trio will factor heavily into the tag team division. Many are cautious about the gimmick but with the company wanting to push the envelop, it will get air time. Another trio of talent wrestlers given interested gimmicks is the debuting Flying Elvises featuring [b]Sonny Siaki, Jorge Estrada & Jimmy Yang.

-Country star Toby Keith will be on hand at the June 19th show to preform on of his hit songs. Other celebrities may appear on the PPV as TNA is trying to appeal to mainstream media as well as wrestling fans.

-Bob Orton has joined the TNA backstage Agents, the signing coincides with his son Randy Orton signing a one year contract. Expect Orton to feature into the weekly PPV as the bright young star has tons of potential.

- The Title situation is being cleared up as we can announce that on 06/19 PPV the World Title will be crowned. The X Division Championship will be crowned the following week on 06/26 and the NWA World Tag Team Titles will be crowned on 07/10 edition of TNA.

-The X Division has many excited backstage and many names are being considered to join the division in NWA-TNA's open door policy. However it has come down to Low Ki, Jerry Lynn or AJ Styles to win the title first.

Fancy you to try and build up some younger talent in O'Haire, Orton and Cena, but have Shamrock to win the title early on to bring some prestige. Wouldn't be surprised if we say Rey Mysterio on the show, and a 'mentor/student' angle between AJ and Lynn.

We all know what happened with Cena in the WWE, he went on to become the face and shit but, I hope that isn't the reason why you have him as well as Randy Orton & Batista on the roster. It would be nice to see different faces being built up through the ranks as the weekly PPV's go on. Card thus far is solid stuff, I could see you maybe giving Curt Hennig a run with the NWA Championship. The likes of O'Haire, I feel should be built up before getting the gold, O'Haire has a lot of promise so here's hoping you utilize it.

Cena, Orton and Batista weren't the same guys in 2002. Also they wouldn't go the same gimmick route as they did under WWE. Hence the Kraken role for Batista. I was a big fan of OVW at the time also so will bring some of that to the game I'm playing. Again hence my BIG plans for O'Haire

NWA's Total Non-Stop Action #1
Live on PPV Wednesday June 19th, 2002
from the Von Braun Center in Huntsville Alabama
Commentary Team: Mike Tenay, Don West and Ed Ferrera

The very first edition of Total Non-Stop Action opens with a montage of the history of the NWA. Audio Clips, still photographs and the very little footage not owned by Vince McMahon of the NWA heyday showcase former stars and champions such as Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, the Funks, Harley Race, Sting, Lex Luger, the Four Horsemen, Magnum TA. Quickly they pass by our TV screens as the announcer talks about tradition and legacy...the screen explodes in a firey explosion as the Total Non-Stop Action logo bounces around on the screen. Tonight Tradition gets taken to the extreme as a new crop of stars plan to revolutionize the NWA to a new level of action! Tonight its Total Non-Stop Action!

We are live to the arena next as our commentary team welcomes us to the very first NWA Total Non-Stop Action broadcast ever! Mike Tenay promises to combine the past, present and future into one promotion honoring the rich tradition of the National Wrestling Alliance as well as presenting something new and fresh. Don West says it is a real alternative to other wrestling shows because "this promotion is all about action in that ring!" And Ed Ferrera chims in and says it doesn't hurt to be on PPV and have no standards and practices either. Yeah Ed, cause that was what killed WCW.

Match #1|X Division Showcase
The Flying Elvises (Sonny Siaki & Jimmy Yang w/Jorge Estrada) vs. Psicosis & Super Crazy
vs. Jerry Lynn & AJ Styles vs. Low-Ki & "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels

The very first match of the TNA era of the NWA kicks off with a X Division showcase. Out first are the trio of Jimmy Yang, Jorge Estrada and Sonny Siaki...the Flying Elvises. The announcers talk about while they may appear goofy on the outside, these three Elvis admirers are three of the top high flying talent in the world. Ed Ferrera explains that everyone needs a gimmick. Out next is the team of Low-Ki and Christopher Daniels, it is noted that they have been long time advesaries and are teaming up for the first time in the NWA! Super Crazy and Psicosis come out next to a great pop, they are being dubbed Lucha Revolucion! And the final team is that of Jerry Lynn and the young rising star AJ Styles. Lynn is giving Styles advice as they make it to the ring, looks like Lynn has taken Styles under his wings in NWA-TNA!

The match itself really does hit all the marks and sets the pace for the Division. It is essentially, like WCW's Cruiserweight Division, a human car wreck! Quick tags all around as everyone gets a chance to shine. The main storyline being told here is Low-Ki and Daniels having a hard time co-existing in a tag team, as well as Styles not listening to Lynn's direction. However even though it would appear that Psicosis/Crazy and the Flying Elvises have it more together the finish really comes down to the other teams as the finish sees Styles pick up the pin on Low-Ki after Daniels refused to make the tag, leading to a Styles Clash!

Winners: Jerry Lynn & AJ Styles via pinfall when Styles pinned Low-Ki

After the match, Low-Ki and Christopher Daniels exchange words on the outside about loosing their match. They begin shoving on another. Clearly these two aren't getting along. However on the inside of the ring Lynn and Styles celebrate a victory. Their arguments during the match gone, bad blood over thanks to picking up the W.

Backstage, interviewer Jeremy Borash is standing with Curt Hennig. Hennig talks about growing up in the business. Hearing war stories about the National Wrestling Alliance. How he always wanted that 15 pounds of gold around his perfect waste and tonight he'll win the Gauntlet for the Gold, then lay claim to the prize that was made for a wrestler like him.

Dusty Rhodes hits the ring, NWA World Title in hand. He is flanked by a whole list of NWA Legends including the Fantastic Jackie Fargo, Bobby Fulton, Harley Race, Bob Orton (yeah I know he was known mainly for WWF work but oh well), Dory Funk Jr, Bullet Bob Armstrong and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat hit the ring. Dusty talks about the tradition of the NWA and how the previous match set the tone for what will become the most exciting wrestling promotion on the planet, baby. He talks about the great men who have held this title before explaining the rules of the Gauntlet. 30 men will compete in a Rumble style battle royal, with two men starting it off and a new man joining them every 60 seconds. The last two remaining men will then face off in a one on one match to crown a new NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

Ch-Ch-Chosen One hits as Jeff Jarrett makes his way out guitar in hand. He proclaims himself the king of the NWA! The King of the Mountain! Jarrett says everyone knows he's the chosen one and he has the most stroke around here, so they should just award the title to him right here and now. Dusty objects to this and the two have words, with Jarrett promising to kick his fat ass (we are on PPV after all, language is ok). Dusty welcomes it and lets the legends exit the ring as he says he won't be a push over suit in the office and if he has to he'll whip some since into the boys in the back, physically if need be. The cowd is on its feet as Jarrett enters the ring to face off with Dusty Rhodes. The annoucners are worried Dusty can't handle himself due to his age. Those fears are put to rest as Dusty delivers a few hard rights and a HUGE Elbow sending Jarrett to powder to the outside. The crowd is going nuts as Dusty plays to the crowd. Mike Tenay wonders if Dusty could be the next NWA Champion

Jarrett returns to the ring and nails Dusty across the back with a steel chair to a chorus of boos. As Jarrett continues the assault, security rushes to the ring but Jarrett nails them with a chair as well. Suddenly the lights go out and our screen and the arena is filled with darkness. The crowd is buzzing. When the lights come back on, STING is standing in the ring pointing a baseball bat at Jarrett and the crowd go completely bat shit crazy. Even though Sting was advertised for the event, they haven't seen him in a while and his appearence gets the crowd into it. Jarrett immediatly exits the ring wide eyed with fear backing up the ramp. Sting just watches him go before checking on Rhodes.

Backstage, Goldylocks stands by with "Grandmaster Sexy" Brian Christopher. Christopher is in full gimmick dropping hot and fresh smack talk will mackin on the fly Goldylocks. He predicts a very sexy winner of the Gauntlet for the Gold tonight but is cut off by Disco Inferno who talks smack. It eventually descents into a dance off before we thankfully cut away.

Match #2 | Singles Match
David Young (w/Bobcat) vs. Randy Orton

David Young makes his way out first with his girlfriend Bobcat around his arm. The angle here with Young, is like Orton he is a rising star. The announcers put over Young winning titles all over North America on the Indies. However they talk about how Bobcat seems to be a distraction to the normally focused Young. Orton is out next to a small pop, most in the crowd do not know these two men. Hoever the match gets them into it. The two talented young men have a very competitive back and forth match with each showcasing their abilities.

Young looks to win the match but on the outside and through out the match Bobcat has been trying to get the camera men's attention. Eventually this distracts Young long enough for Orton to nail a missle drop kick for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Randy Orton

Orton celebrates his win as the announcers hype the young talent in the NWA today, where the future of the business wrestle! On the outside Young argues with Bobcat.

Speaking of new talent, backstage Goldylocks is standing with the Shane Twins, who introduce their new valet the former Major Gunns, miss Tylene Buck. The Twins talk about being stripped of the NWA World Tag Team Titles leading into the relaunch. They said it won't matter because when things are settled in a few weeks and new NWA World Tag Team Champions are crowned it'll be on their shoulders once more.

Back in the arena, a young entergetic wrestler is in the ring awaiting his first singles match in the NWA pumping up the crowd. He is billed as "the Prototype" John Cena, and the announcer hype his "it" factor. Suddenly out of the crowd comes the former WCW star Crowbar, being called Tempest, who slides in the ring nailing Cena from behind. Cena fights back but is cut off by a second attacker the monsterously jacked Kraken (the young bald former WWE developmental talent Dave Batista) and a third man the 6 foot 8 beast known as the Malice, who is a much thinner and evil looking Wall from WCW. The three men proceed to destroy Cena in the ring before Malice choke slams him through a table ringside. The Announcer call for order as the three stand dominate in the ring and a wicked "CHURCH MUSIC" hits and Minister James Mitchell enters the ring. He talks about a new age, how everyone is claiming ressurection and revelations in the NWA...but he holds the truth word. The word of the New Church. He says he has taken three men who were held down and given names by men in suits and awoken their inner demons. Together they will unleash hell itself on the NWA until everyone in the back has been converted. He says it is a new age in the NWA and the New Church will usher in a new reign of violence and destruction in the NWA. He lets out an evil laugh as his monsters look vicious inside the ring.

Backstage, Goldylocks checks in on Dusty Rhodes who is holding a bag of ice on his ribs as friends check in on him. He promises next week Jarrett will get his as he has signed a main event for the show, pitting Jeff Jarrett one on one against Sting! The annoucers go crazy over this announcement.

Match #3 | Tag Team Match
The Rainbow Express (Lenny & Lodi w/Bruce & Joel Gertner)
vs. The Shane Twins (Todd & Mike w/Tylene Buck)

Joel Gertner in a cheesy hawaiian shirt leads out the trio of Bruce, Lenny and Lodi...the Rainbow Express. On the microphone Gertner talks about while he loves pie, his team are more braut men. He says that even though these three men live alternative life styles they will be the most dominate team in all of the NWA. The Shane Twins head to the ring with the very boxom Tylene Buck. The match itself is a solid tag team encounter. For all the controversary and hooplaa, the Rainbow Express prove themselves to be contenders for the upcoming Tag Team Tournament.

However the strength of the Shane Twins are too much as they are all but asured a victory which causes Bruce to hit the ring and clip the leg of Todd Shane while Gertner slides a chair in the ring. The Rainbow Express have been DQ'd but continue to assault the Shane Twins as Tylene jumps up and down screaming at ringside. Out of the back come NWA Tag Team Legends The Rock-N-Roll Express who clear the ring with chairs in hand.

Winners via DQ: The Shane Twins

The Rock-N-Roll Express stand tall with the Shane Twins as the Rainbow Express retreat up the ramp. Morton grabs a microphone and says next week the pair of fruits (how very PC of him) will get a little Rock and Roll as they lock up with the Rock-N-Roll Express. The Rainbow Express act disgusted by the thought of it.

We cut backstage where former WCW World Tag Team Champions Sean O'Haire and Mark Jindrak are standing by with Goldylocks. Mark explains that he wants to enter the tag team tournament while O'Haire is focused on a singles career. They share a laugh saying why not conquor both.

In the ring Jeremy Borash stands introducing the women of NWA-TNA and they make their way out one by one including Dawn Marie, Elektra, Alexis Laree, Daffney, Jasmine St. Claire, Taylor Vaughn, Joni, Lizzy Borden and Veronica Caine! Out last is the Queen of Extreme Francine who enters the ring last. Borash proclaims that these women will participate in a Bikini Contest next week right here on NWA-Total Non-Stop Action! The crowd seems to enjoy this however Dawn Marie grabs the microphone and lays into Francine being hired. She says she watch Francine sleep her way around a locker room before and she isn't needed in this new promotion. This leads to a CATFIGHT! CATFIGHT! CATFIGHT! That sees Francine strip Dawn Marie topless. Nothing is seen however as Simon Diamond hits the ring wrapping his girlfriend in a towel and they exit. The segment ends with Francine giving a little dance for the crowd and Ed Ferrera having a heart attack.

Randy Orton is putting on his street clothing in the locker room. He is talking to Chris Harris and Cowboy James Storm as he is approached by his father Bob Orton and NWA legends Dory Funk Jr. and Harley Race. They all give him a pat on the back for his match earlier, Randy says he still has a lot to learn but think the NWA is the right place for him. King of the Old School Steve Corino enters flanked by CW Anderson. Corino laughs and says that its sad when a puppy so wet behind the ears like Orton gets a featured match, yet a former NWA World Champion like himself is bumped from the card and stuck in a battle royal. He looks at Bob but says it makes sense because his daddy isn't on the booking commitee. Orton gets upset by this and gets in Corino's face. Says he'll prove his worth anywhere, anytime. Corino laughs, saying how about next week. Corino says he has a couple guys who would love to tango with Orton and his BFFs, the old men. Dory likes the idea but Harley says this isn't about them, let the young guys handle it. Thats when Harris and Storm stand up and say they'll have Randy's back next week. Corino smirks before exiting.

Back ringside, the announcers go over the insane night we have been witnessing while hyping next week's broadcast which will feature Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett. They quickly get cut off by the music of Rey Mysterio Jr. who comes to the ring! The crowd pops huge at the fact that he is once again wearing his trademark mask. The announcers put over the rich history of Lucha Libre and how the NWA will be reaching out to promotions south of the boarder to exchange talent bringing the very best state side. Mysterio hits the ring but is cut off by the voice of Lex Luger over the PA.

Lex Luger emerges from the back, and to call the man standing on the stage The Total Package would be a travesty. Long gone is the ripped lean body of Luger replaced with a flabby gut. The rumors are true as he has changed his ring gear from trunks to long pants that say Luger on the sides and a singlet underneath. Luger holds microphone in hand and is joined by a sickly looking Miss Elizabeth. The announcers ignore the site as the fans begin booing and openly mocking Luger. Luger reminds Mysterio that he lost the mask he is wearing in the ring to Luger many years ago in WCW and demands he remove it now! When Mysterio refuses Luger smirks saying Rey must feel like a big man, well he's such a big man Luger has recruited back up in WCW...which brings out his Totally Buff partner Buff Bagwell. The two begin heading down to the ring to attack Mysterio until from out of the back Scott Hall emerges and cuts them off. Hall grabs the microphone and to a chorus of cheers from the crowd invites Totally Buff to face them right now in a tag team match!

Match #4 | Tag Team Match
Totally Buff (Buff Bagwell & Lex Luger w/Miss Elizabeth) vs. Scott Hall & Rey Mysterio Jr.

The match is on, and lets face it. This isn't a very good match. Luger is blown up after only a few minutes working with Hall so Buff does most of the work. Logic tells you that Mysterio (the smaller of the two on his team) would take the heat here but Hall does as Bagwell and Luger cut him off exchanging tags and working over Hall in their corner. However something bad happens half way through the match as Bagwell goes for a hard whip on Hall and falls to the matt holding his knee. It appears as though he has pulled something. He is clearly in pain as he holds his knee and the referee checks on Bagwell. This give Hall a chance to get the hot tag, but he milks it as to give Bagwell enough time to do the shame. Mysterio comes in on fire as Bagwell tags Luger before rolling to the apron where a trainer rushes to his side.

Luger no sells most of Mysterio's offense but once Halls back in he eats a huge clothesline from Hall, and a splash from Mysterio from the top. Mysterio makes the cover for the 3 count.

Winners: Scott Hall & Rey Mysterio Jr. when Mysterio pinned Luger

Bagwell continues to hold his knee ringside as Luger exits the ring completely out of breath. That match was horrible and they know it. On the inside Mysterio and Hall muster up some enthusiasm celebrating their "Victory" as trainers and EMTs check on a visably shaken Bagwell ringside. The announcers hope Bagwell is okay as we cut backstage to...

Backstage, Jeff Jarrett is lacing up his boots when Ricky Steamboat enters to him. Steamboat wants Jarrett clear of one thing, this isn't the wild west and rules will be enforced. What happened earlier tonight won't happen again. Jarrett tells Steamboat to go tell Fat Dusty that, because while Jarrett is a main eventer he's over the hill. Steamboat said he'll worry about Rhodes and that Jarrett should worry about the 29 other men in the rumble tonight before walking off.

Standing by with Goldylocks is The World's Most Dangerous Man Ken Shamrock who talks about winning titles everywhere he has ever gone be it MMA or the WWF. He says tonight he'll add the NWA World Title to his collection.

Back on the stage, Road Dogg makes his debut introducing Country Music star Toby Keith performs his hit " Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue" for the crowd. Halfway through the song out of no where K-Krush enters the arena brushing past Keith causing the song to end. He turns trash talking Keith. The announcers aren't clear on whats going on here, repeatidly saying this isn't scheduled. K-Krush grabs the microphone off the stand. He says that he is sick and tired of country music, rednecks and RASSLIN' fans holding him back! He points to Road Dogg who is standing in the ring with Jeremy Borash having introduced the music. This is when Toby Keith shoves K-Krush from behind and the two start a shoving match but Security and Keith's people get in between them, dragging Keith backstage.

K-Krush says he was stuck with that cracker's ass (refrencing his tag team with Road Dogg in WWF) for years and now that he's finally gotten a chance to break out on his own and prove he is the star he knows he is, the white management in the NWA want him to tap his shoes and play second fiddle to Road Dogg again. K-Krush gets in the ring and gets in Road Dogg's face. Krush explains that people like him aren't given a fair shake in this company cause a bunch of old white dudes like Brian's (using his shoot name) daddy hold them down. Road Dogg takes offense to this and explains that in the WWF, he went to bat for K-Krush even when the rest of the locker room wanted him fired. Krush smirks and tells Road Dogg he won't be his slave anymore and if anyone in the back have a problem they can fuck off. He turns to the camera and says "Fuck you Jerry! Fuck you Dusty! Fuck you Bob!" However when he turns back he gets a solid right from Road Dogg and the two begin to brawl around ringside.
Eventually they brawl up to the stage where The Keith Band's equipment still sits. K-Krush gets the upper hand and whips Road Dogg hard into the drum set before security finally comes out and breaks the two up. The announcers say this is personal between these two men. The announcers appologize for the language of K-Krush. They acknowledge that Total Non-Stop Action may push the envelope but that kind of language was never meant to be broadcasted.

Backstage, Toby Keith is being told he can't get involved in the wrestling matches by Jackie Fargo and Ricky Steamboat. However Dusty who seems to have recovered comes up and invites Keith to come to the show next week when it will be Road Dogg and K-Krush one on one, with Keith as the special outside enforcer! Steamboat seems irritated by this.

Match #5 | The Gauntlet for the Gold
30 Man Rumble, Last Two Men face off for NWA World Title

A shot of the NWA World Title is seen ringside as the main event starts. Out first is ENTRANT #1 - Jeff Jarrett who seems not thrilled at all about drawing the first place pick. His opponent to start things off is Entrant #2 -"GrandMasta Sexy" Brian Christopher. The two go at it fast and furious as the crowd gets into it. After all it was Christopher's performance against Jarrett at WWA's Revolution PPV back in February that got him the job with this company. ENTRANT #3 - Disco Inferno is out next and he joins Jarrett to double team Christopher in the ring, quickly they are joined by ENTRANT #4 - Wildcat Chris Harris, ENTRANT #5 - Mark Jindrak and ENTRANT #6 - Gran Apollo. The ring is filling up as ENTRANT #7 - The New Church's Malice hits the ring and eliminates Harris and Christopher. Apollo scores an elimination too when he dumps Disco Inferno over the top rope. ENTRANT #8 - Sean O'Haire joins the match next, followed by ENTRANT #9 - Konnan, who gets a huge pop. Malice and Apollo have a face off after they both eliminate ENTRANT #10 - Kaos almost imediately. The two come to blows but is cut off when ENTRANT #11 - turns out to be Kraken of the new Church and they eliminate Apollo tegether. ENTRANT #12 - Vampire Warrior and Entrant #13 - CW Anderson fill out the rest of the ring. ENTRANT #13 - K-Krush, ENTRANT #14 - Scott Hall and ENTRANCE #15 - Justin Credible all get good responses. However the Eliminations start to come quicker now, with Anderson being eliminated by Hall, Vampire Warrior and Konnan being eliminated by the New Church and Kraken going out himself by the duo of Sean O'Haire and Mark Jindrak.

However Sean O'Haire also goes over the top rope when they eliminate Kraken. This leads to O'Haire snapping and re-entering the ring attacking Jindrak before he is pulled out by security. ENTRANT #16 - Tempest Tosses out the hurt Jindrak where O'Haire continues his assault before being pulled to the back. O'Haire has snapped. ENTRANT #17 - Rick Steiner comes out to a huge pop and goes after Jarrett in the corner. ENTRANT #18 - Dangerous Danny Doring and ENTRANT #19 - Simon Diamond brawl over the top rope eleminating each other. ENTRANT #20 - Road Dogg goes straight for K-Krush in the ring. A few seconds later they're both over the top rope and into the crowd fighting out of the match. Tempest is thrown out by ENTRANT #21 - FORMER NWA Champion Barry Windham who gets a solid response. The Announcer state he is replacing John Cena after what the New Church did to him on this show. ENTRANT #22 - Elix Skipper is out next. The Eliminations of Rick Steiner, Justin Credible and Elix Skipper all come at the hands of the monster Malice, who himself is eliminated by ENTRANT #23 - Ken Shamrock. Entrant #24 - Roadkill is out next, followed by ENTRANT #25 - Kid Kash. The ring is rocking with stars as ENTRANT #26 - Cowboy James Storm, ENTRANT #27 - Steve Corino and ENTRANT #28 - Curt Hennig all enter the ring. ENTRANT #29 - Bruce comes in and finally ENTRANT #30 - Dusty Rhodes himself comes out to a huge pop. Rhodes helps Hall eliminate Jeff Jarrett before Ricky Steamboat comes down and makes Rhodes exit the match eliminating from the match. Steamboat explains to Rhodes he isn't a wrestler anymore. The rest of the match continues as Roadkill is eliminated by Shamrock. Storm, Bruce, Skipper and Kid Kash all are eliminated through this period. The final four come down to Hennig, Shamrock, Windham and Corino. Two former NWA World Champions go at it, when they are both taken out of the match by Hennig as they brawl near the ropes.

Winners: Ken Shamrock and Curt Hennig

The very sloppy yet exciting Rumble is now over and referee Mickey Jay enters the ring with the NWA World Title. Jeremy Borash makes the official introductions that feel rushed because the broadcast is running out of time. Its getting close to the 10:00pm hour.

Match #6 | For Vacant NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Ken Shamrock vs. Curt Hennig

Again time contrants keep this match from being able to explore the story telling you think it would. The two brawl around the ring for a few minutes before going inside and exchanging hold, putting on a techinical wrestling showcase with Hennig being the one with the upper hand. The Announcer verbally hope they don't run out of time in the broadcast. With that the match is cut short with a BELLY To BELLY from Shamrock out of nowhere out of the corner on Hennig for the pin fall.

Winner and NEW NWA World Heavyweight Champion: Ken Shamrock

Pyro goes off as Steamboat hands Shamrock the title in the ring. Shamrock holds up the belt as the fans cheer for him. With time quickly running out on the broadcast Tenay once again hypes next week's show including Jarrett vs. Sting, Update on Bagwell's condition, Rock-n-Roll Express vs. Rainbow Express, the X Division crowns a champion and new NWA World Champion Ken Shamrock will appear!

We fade to black on Shamrock on the turnbuckles holding his title high above his head.
