Re: WWE: 2014 - Rise & Fall

May 16th 2014

Illinois; Rosemount – Allstate Arena

Quote:
Tonight on SmackDown: How will Ziggler react to his loss at WWE Extreme Rules and will the fire between Bryan and Ziggler continue to burn? Plus, after being upset by Emma on RAW this past Monday how will Paige react? Also, how much more will things heat up between former team mates Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow? All that and more on SmackDown
Damien Sandow's music hits and he makes his way to the ring to boos.

DAMIEN SANDOW: Thank you for your irrelevant opinion. Now, all of you ignoramuses saw what I did to Cody on RAW. That's what he deserved, disrespect your partner and that's what you get. He's no longer associated with me and I'm ashamed at the fact I once considered Cody 'a friend'. We now have a match soon at WWE Payback and mark my words, I will no---

Before Sandow can continue speaking. Rhodes' makes his entrance to the ring to cheers.

CODY RHODES: Sandow, you can come out here and blabber on and try to justify your actions but there is just no way of justifying them. I was simply asking for a reason from you and why you didn't help me and your response was to attack me? Well that tells me that you clearly stopped being my 'friend' and tag team partner a long time ago. I'm going to make this short and sweet, you will lose at WWE Payback and you know you will. I've always been the strongest in the team and you have constantly held me down from day one. But, I brushed all that aside and stayed a team with you because we were friends. I won't lie I wanted to move up the ladder and I wanted to compete for the Singles Titles but I was happy being in a team with you and I thought we would get the job done at Extreme Rules, but we didn't and the next night you betrayed me, after all this time. Well not anymore you won't because from this point on you're no longer my friend and you know what I say, how's about we don't wait until Payback? How's about we DO THIS RIGHT NOW.

Before Rhodes and Sandow can fight Booker T makes his presence felt.

BOOKER T: Hold on a minute dawgs, there will be no fighting tonight. You're both in a match tonight and I need you both to be ready. Rhodes you will be facing Seth Rollins tonight of The Shield and Sandow, here's your opponent..

Christian makes his entrance. Sandow is not happy. Rhodes makes his way out the arena and briefly has a stare down with Sandow.

Match #1 - Christian vs Damien Sandow - Singles Match

Christian pushes Sandow in to the ropes and kicks him in the gut. Sandow is momentarily stunned but is able to push Chrstian away, Sandow tries to use momentum from the ropes to knock Christian down but Christian is able to dodge the punch. Sandow goes in to the ropes and on return is greeted by a dropkick from Christian, Sandow falls to the ring hard. Christian quickly scoots to Sandow and tries to get the three count:

1..
2..
SANDOW KICKS OUT!

Christian shakes his head and brings Sandow up thrusting him in to the turnbuckle. Christian begins to punch and kick away at Sandow as Sandow tries to fight his way out. Christian continues to isolate Sandow and wears him out at the turnbuckle. Christian goes to the other side of the ring and charges to Sandow with a dropkick but Sandow is able to quickly get ouf the way. Sandow begins to turn the tables in his favour and beings to stomp away at Christian at the turnbuckle. Sandow then gets Christian in to the Full Nelson at the turnbuckle and begins to slam Christian's face in to the turnbuckle. Sandow then brings Christian out of the corner and hits a corkscrew neckbreaker. Sandow then goes for the three count:

1...
2..
CHRISTIAN KICKS OUT!

Sandow groans in rage and begins to talk trash to Chrstian and continues to stomp away at Christian not letting him get to his feet. Sandow brings Christian up and attempts to hit the Terminus but Christian is able to fight his way out and shoves Sandow in to the ropes. Christian tries to catch Sandow out form the ropes but Sandow kicks Christian in the face before sending him out of the ring. Sandow clearly has hs eyes set on the announce table and he grabs Christian's head before slamming it on to the announce table. Sandow then brings Christian up and attempts to throw him in to the turnbuckle but Christian still has fight left and is able to counter this sending Sandow in to the steel steps. Christian holds his arm up the crowd as they cheer before bringing Sandow back in to the ring. Christian tries to get the three count once again:

1..
2..
SANDOW KICKS OUT.

Christian is becoming concerned and is wondering what the can do to put Sandow away. Christian makes his way to the top of the turnbuckle and gets ready to hit the Frogsplash on Sandow. Christian goes for it but Sandow sticks his foot up stopping Christian in his tracks. Christian is in complete agony from this and it enables Sandow to catch his breath. Sandow makes it back to his feet and he begins to smile to the crowd. Christian is laid on his back and Sandow turns him over. Sandow begins to set up for the Elbow of Disdain and hits it several times to Christian's chest. Sandow then goes for the three count:

1..
2..
2.5...
CHRISTIAN KICKS OUT!

Sandow shouts "COME ON!" in rage and begins to wonder what he can do to put Christian away. Sandow brings Christian up and tries to hit the Terminus once again but Christian skilfully is able to avoid the move and hits a spinebuster on Sandow. Sandow crashes to the ground. Christian goes to the other side of the ring and positions himself for the spear. The crowd are going crazy for Christian, Christian RUSHES to Sandow and HITS A MASSIVE SPEAR! Sandow goes down with a crash. Christian quickly goes to Sandow and goes for the three count:

1..
2..
3..
CHRISTIAN WINS!

Christian celebrates to the crowd. As Christian is leaving the arena. Rhodes steps out to the stage smiling at the fact Sandow lost his match. Sandow can be seen looking at Rhodes as he sits in pain in the middle of the ring.

~Commercial Break~

As we come back from Commercial Break, Cody Rhodes is stood with Josh Matthews in a backstage segment.

JOSH MATTHEWS: Please welcome my guest at this time, Cody Rhodes.

*Cheers*

CODY RHODES: Thank you, Josh. As you know, I have a match with Seth Rollins tonight and that's the only thing on my mind tonight. As you've just seen Sandow lose, that's not happening to me. I have been preparing for this match and I WILL WIN tonight. Sandow did the wrong think betraying me, I'm not going to forgive and forget and at Payback I'll show him who truly is the weak-link.

We cut back to the ring and Daniel Bryan makes his entrance to the ring holding the World Heavyweight Championship high and obviously delighted by his win at Extreme Rules. Bryan gets in to the ring and holds the title up to the crowd as they cheer. Bryan grabs a Microphone and begins to speak.

DANIEL BRYAN: I can see we have a raucous crowd in Chicago tonight! Anyway, to the point and the reason I came out here, firstly obviously I'm out here to celebrate my extraordinary win at WWE Extreme Rules. Credit where credit is due, Ziggler gave me one of the toughest matches I've ever had in my entire career and he took me to the absolute limit but I still came out on top and that shows what kind of guy I am. You won't keep me down and you won't take this from me. This title is mine and it always will be, I'm going to become a legend in this business and I'm going to become known as the longest reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion in history and that's a promise. Before I came to WWE, nobody expected me to be in the position I am in today. I've proved them all wrong and I've proved that I can win 'THE BIG ONE' and hold on to it successfully.

Before Bryan can continue speaking, Ziggler interrupts him as he walks down to the ring with a Microphone in hand.

DOLPH ZIGGLER: No no no, you've got it all wrong Bryan. Everyone knows the Show-Off last night had that match in the bag. Like you said, I took you to the absolute limit last night and gave you all that you could handle. You're feeling pretty confident tonight so why don't we have a match TONIGHT? Just a warning though, tonight, I'm not playing around. You think I'm happy I lost at Extreme Rules, do I you think I respect you? No, of course I don't. I'll never respect you and the reason for that is because you shouldn't be holding on to that title. Just you standing with it now is completely devaluing it, we all know who should really be holding it and your just too scared to admit it, aren't you?

Ziggler and Bryan have a stare-down and Ziggler begins to step away and leaves with a huge smile on his face. Bryan has a look of determination in his eyes and he wants to beat Ziggler again tonight.

JERRY LAWLER: Wow! What a match for SmackDown tonight, bet you're looking forward to that one John?

JBL: You've got that right, we fight on Friday nights!

Rhodes makes his entrance to the ring and gets pumped up for his match against Seth Rollins. The Shield's music hits and all three members make their way to the ring. Seth Rollins gets in the ring with Rhodes and both men pace around the ring looking at each other.

Match #2 - Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins - Singles Match

Rollins starts out strong against Rhodes. Rollins is able to quickly wear Rhodes down and then puts him in to the turnbuckle. He then sets up for a Turnbuckle Powerbomb and hits it. Rollins tries to go for an early pin:

1..
2..
RHODES KICKS OUT.

Rollins isn't wasting any time and quickly makes it back up and continues to work on Rhodes. After beating away on Rhodes for a while, Rollins picks Rhodes up and throws him out of the ring. He then makes his way to the top of the turnbuckle and waits for Rhodes to make his way back up. Rollins goes flying in to the air and attempts to hit a MASSIVE Suicide Dive on Rhodes but Rhodes is able to quickly shimmy out of the way. Rhodes has a slight smile on his face as he grabs Rollins by the hair and throws him in to the barricade with a huge thud. Rhodes is beginning to feel it as he cheers to the crowd. Rhodes brings Rollins back up and gets ready to throw him in to the steel steps. Rhodes tries to throw Rollins in to the steel steps but Rollins is able to counter and sends Rhodes crashing in to the steel steps, shoulder first. Rhodes can be seen holding on to his shoulder in agony as Rollins makes his way to Rhodes. Ambrose and Reigns can be seen watching on and clapping for Rollins.

Rollins continues to target the shoulder of Rhodes and brings him back in to the ring. Rollins smiles at the crowd with a sinister look on his face as he paces around Rhodes toying with him. Rhodes begins to try and make it to his feet and manages to land a few blows on Rollins. Rhodes and Rollins begin to exchange blows in the center of the ring with the crowd reacting to every punch. Rhodes is eventually able to build momentum and Irish Whips Rollins in to the ropes but on return Rollins hits a clothesline on Rhodes who can't react quickly enough which sends him to the ground. Rollins doesn't stop there and hits a running shooting star press on Rhodes. Rollins then follows that by going for the three count:

1..
2..
2.5
RHODES KICKS OUT!

Rollins bashes the ring in frustration and shouts "COME ON!" to the referee. Rollins brings Rhodes up and Irish Whips him in to the turnbuckle. Rollins attempts to hit a Corner Forearm Smash on Rhodes but Rhodes kicks Rollins in to the gut and pushes him away and he then hits a dropkick on Rollins which sends him to the ground. Rhodes stays on top of Rollins and picks him back up. Rhodes begins to set up for the Cross Rhodes on Rollins but Rollins is able to worm his way out of it and then hits a back heel kick followed by a leg sweep which sends Rhodes to the ground. Rollins goes to the top rope and waits for Rhodes to make it to his feet he then tries to copy what he did at Extreme Rules and tries to catch Rhodes off guard but Rhodes sees it coming this time and is able to quickly dodge out of the way.

Rhodes quickly gets Rollins in to the hammerlock and shouts at him "TAP!" but Rollins is able to fight his way out it. Both men begin to brawl back and fourth in the middle of the ring and neither man wants to lose this match. Ambrose and Reigns are shouting "GIVE IT UP" to Rhodes. Rhodes is able to momentarily daze Rollins and this gives him the chance to hit the Disaster Kick on Rollins. Rhodes quickly goes for the three count:

1..
2..
2.5..
ROLLINS KICKS OUT.

Rhodes sighs and makes his way back up and before he can do anything else, Sandow begins to walk out on to the stage. Rhodes can be seen watching him but tries to focus on Rollins. Rhodes sets up for the Cross Rhodes on Rollins but Sandow begins to walk down the ramp, this further distracts Rhodes and allows Rollins to push Rhodes away, Rollins then hits a surprise superkick out of no where which sends Rhodes crashing to the ground. Rollins quickly goes for the three count:

1..
2..
3..
ROLLINS WINS.

Rollins makes his way out of the ring and celebrates with Ambrose and Reigns as all men make it out of the arena in to the crowd. Sandow makes his way in to the ring and begins to pace around Rhodes. The crowd is booing Sandow heavily. Sandow notices how Rhodes is positioned in the ring and begins to set up for Elbow of Disdain mocking the crowd and hits it on Rhodes which puts Rhodes in to further agony. Sandow then makes his way out of the arena laughing and mocking the crowd booing him.

~Commercial Break~

Paige's music hits and she makes her way to the ring. Paige is in a raged state after her loss to Emma on RAW. Natalya's music hits and she makes her way to the ring. This will be a match but Paige looks like she isn't playing games tonight.

Match #3 - Paige vs Natalya - Singles Match

As soon as the bell rings, Paige rushes over to Natalya not waiting for anybody. She begins to violently beat away on Natalya before grabbing her by her hair and throwing her to the ground with a thud. Paige continues to stomp on every area of Natalya's body and gets down and begins to bash her head to ring mat. Paige gets up and she's not done yet, she goes under the ring and grabs a Kendo Stick. The entire crowd is in shock. The referee is telling Paige to stop but Paige beats away on Natalya with a Kendo Stick. Paige is eventually pulled off by officials and Natalya wins the match by DQ.

Paige tells the officials to get off her and walks out of the arena in a completely manic state.

JBL: Paige is not in a good mood tonight.

JERRY LAWLER: You're telling me John, I thought AJ was a crazy chick but Paige is on a completely other level. Wow.

We cut to a backstage segment, Ryback is stood with Josh Matthews.

JOSH MATTHEWS: So, Ryback, this past Monday on RAW you lost to Christian in a Singles Match, has this hurt your confidence at all heading forwards?

RYBACK: Of course it hasn't, you see, Christian just caught me off guard. I wasn't on my full game at RAW and I had a few other things on my mind. Christian just got lucky and I promise you, IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. Ever since Christian has come back he's been a complete nuisance trying to take *this* from me. Well, you know what I say, let's settle this at Payback, Me vs Christian one-on-one, no stipulations, no nothing. Just a good wrestling fight and I'll show him why he should never try to challenge for this title EVER AGAIN.

JOSH MATTHEWS: Thanks for your time.

We cut to the commentary table.

JERRY LAWLER: What do you think to that, John?

JBL: I've got faith in Christian, Ryback is a strong guy, but Christian has looked great recently and he pinned Ryback on RAW. I think Christian can do it but he needs to be on the top of his game come Payback. After this, there will be no more chances and Christian will have lost the shot at a title he wants so much.

~Commercial Break~

CM Punk makes his entrance to the ring to a huge ovation from the Chicago Crowd. Punk strangely doesn't make his entrance with Heyman. Punk steps in to the ring and poses to the crowd before grabbing a Microphone from ring side.

CROWD: *CM PUNK, CM PUNK, CM PUNK, CM PUNK!*

CM Punk: It feels good to still be in Chicago tonight. I always love when I get the chance to spend a week in my hometown doing the job I love. Only, the problem is, there is always someone there to ruin it and that man is Randy Orton. You may have noticed tonight, that Paul Heyman isn't here with me and there's only one reason for that, I told him not to come tonight. I'm ashamed of my loss on Monday and I don't want to see that he's disappointed with me. I'm embarrassed to have lost to someone like Randy Orton, he's a spineless coward and I could beat him any day of the week. He caught me off guard and I should have been at the top of my game on Monday night but I wasn't and that was my downfall. This isn't just me making up an excuse either like half of the Wrestler's do, namely John Cena who promised to the world that he would win the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules and what happened? He lost. I told him not to make promises you can't keep but of course, people don't listen to me. They think my opinion is irrelevant when in reality, I'm smarter than most of the people out in the back. Randy Orton can continue to think he's the best in this business, when in reality, he isn't even close to it. I hate when people use that word 'Best' there's only one person that can use that word and that's me and me only. SO DON'T THINK for one second that you can come out here and claim you're the best because you're not, I'm the best, I'M THE BEST IN THE WORLD.

There's one reason I came out here tonight and that's to challenge Randy Orton. Not tonight, so don't get excited, sorry Chicago. But, I'm issuing a challenge to Randy Orton at WWE Payback. He wants to try and take this title from me? Then try, tough guy. I'll be waiting for your response.

Punk drops the Microphone and walks out of the arena with his WWE Championship Belt.

Daniel Bryan makes his entrance and makes his way to the ring chanting 'Yes!" whilst holding on to the World Heavyweight Championship. Ziggler also makes his entrance and has a stare-down with Bryan as he makes his way to the ring.

MAIN EVENT - Daniel Bryan vs Dolph Ziggler - Singles Match

Ziggler starts off strong and pushes Bryan in to the ropes but Bryan bounces back and kicks Ziggler in the gut. Ziggler grabs his gut and is momentarily stunned, this allows Bryan to take Ziggler down, Bryan tries to go for the Yes! Lock but Ziggler is able to quickly worm his way out of it. Both men stand back up in the ring and smile at each other as they both pace around the ring. They lock up again and Ziggler manages to gain the upper hand. Ziggler aggressively pushes Bryan in to the corner and but Bryan is able to use his quickness and quickly does a backflip over Ziggler followed by a clothesline which takes Ziggler down. Bryan isn't finished there and goes to the top of the turnbuckle and attempts to hit the Diving Headbutt on Ziggler but Ziggler quickly scoots out of the way and tries to take advantage by going for the three count on Bryan:

1..
2..
BRYAN KICKS OUT!

Ziggler begins to deliver several repeated Elbow Drops to Bryan's chest and doesn't allow Bryan to make it to his feet. He continues to methodically stomp away on Bryan before showing off and evoking a negative reaction from the crowd. Ziggler brings Bryan up and begins to toy with him and think he has Bryan weak but Bryan begins to fight back and build momentum, he manages to get Ziggler on his knees and begins to kick Ziggler repeatedly whilst chanting Yes! Ziggler seems dazed and Bryan tries to finish with a kick but Ziggler is able to see it coming and quickly dodges the kick to the head, Ziggler then quickly rolls Bryan up for the three count:

1..
2..
BRYAN KICKS OUT!

These men know each other so well and begin to wonder what they can do to put eachother away. Bryan and Ziggler begin to trade blows in the center of the ring going back and forth. Ziggler pushes Bryan in to the corner but Bryan gets out of the way and Ziggler goes rushing in to the corner. Bryan continues on from earlier and begins to kick away at Ziggler. Bryan then gets Ziggler ready on the top of the turnbuckle and hits a suplex on Ziggler to the ring mat. Ziggler goes with a huge blow and suffers the worst of the move. Bryan is partly affected by the move but is able to make it to Ziggler and try to get the three count:

1..
2..
ZIGGLER KICKS OUT.

Bryan can't believe it. He brings Ziggler out of the ring and tries to throw him in to the steel steps but Ziggler is able to stop him in his tracks and throws Bryan crashing in to the steel steps. Ziggler has a smile on his face as he picks Bryan up by the head and shoves him in to the barricade head first. Ziggler then brings Bryan back in to the ring but he's not done yet, he goes to the top of the turnbuckle and waits for Bryan to make it back to his feet. Ziggler goes for the dropkick on Bryan from the top of the turnbuckle but Bryan dodges out of the way and quickly gets down and gets Ziggler in to the Yes! Lock. Ziggler is trapped in the center of the ring and his face is screaming agony. He looks around his surroundings and tries to work out he's going to get out of this predicament. Bryan is yelling "TAP!" to Ziggler and Ziggler is scratching and clawing and trying to make it to the ropes. Ziggler is so close to tapping but just makes it to the ropes, this forces the break. Bryan begins to shake his head and brings Ziggler up to his feet. Ziggler can barely stand, Bryan throws Ziggler in the ropes and tries to catch Ziggler on return but Ziggler is able to kcik Bryan in the face. This causes Bryan to be dazed and he turns his back to Ziggler. Ziggler sees the opportunity and goes for the the Zig Zag and hits it and then goes for the three count:

1..
2..
2.5..
BRYAN KICKS OUT.

Ziggler bashes the ring in anger and yells "COME ON!" to the referee. Ziggler quickly gets Bryan in the headlock and begins to show off by doing a headstand whilst doing it. Ziggler eventually lets go and brings Bryan back up but Bryan begins to fight back and gets Ziggler down to his knees once again. Bryan repeatedly kicks Ziggler in the chest and finishes it off by this time successfully kicking Ziggler in the head. This sends Ziggler to the ground. Bryan makes his way to the top of the turnbuckle and at this point he's pretty worn out. He goes for the Diving Headbutt from the top of the turnbuckle once again but Ziggler JUST makes it out of the way. Ziggler makes it back to his feet and Bryan is trying to make it to his feet as well. Ziggler waits patiently and manages to nail the Zig Zag on Bryan. Ziggler goes for the three count on Bryan once again:

1..
2..
3..
ZIGGLER WINS.

The crowd is in shock at the fact Ziggler has won. Ziggler begins to celebrate passionately. He holds up the World Heavyweight Championship screaming "THIS WILL BE MINE!" as it cuts to black.

Re: WWE: 2014 - Rise & Fall

Hey! I figured I'd chime in with a review:

Opening Sandow/Rhodes promo: Good basic stuff here, continues the feud nicely and definitely built up my interest to see the match.

Christian vs Sandow: Good back and forth match. I like your match writing style as it is very easy to read with the short paragraphs and putting the pinfalls in their own little section. Do not agree with the winner, I would have put over Sandow to make him look strong in his feud with Cody

Ziggler/Bryan angle: Nice build up for Ziggler/Bryan, but the writing here was a little iffy. Watch your word repitition, you used "tonight" quite a few times in a few sentences.

Rollins vs Rhodes: Another good match, I really like how you write your matches. I guess I see why you had Sandow lose earlier, so he can come out after Rhodes' match like Cody did to him. Good post match angle to put heat on Sandow.

Paige vs Natalya: WOW! Paige is one crazy chick! I really liked this, you made Paige look like a legit threat here.

Ryback promo: This was fine. But nobody says "wrestling fight".

CM Punk promo: Some grammar errors and awkward sentences, but overall not bad. Punk was in character and saying the things I would expect him to say. Punk/Orton has my interest.

Daniel Bryan vs Dolph Ziggler: Not a fan of Bryan losing, setting up Ziggler as a contender could have been done with him beating someone else BUT i see why you did it. Fantastic match. Again, to me your big strength is the match writing, I love it. Very interested in seeing where you go with Ziggler/Bryan.

Overall: Good show! It felt like a by the numbers Smackdown! show, but you moved storylines along decently and I thought it was entertaining, especially the matches. I'd work on the promos a little bit as your grammar can be off at times, and that is a bit of a problem with dialogue. Match writing is great though. The presentation of the show was good, it was easy to read without too many colors confusing me along the way. I like this BTB and will be keeping up with it from here on out, the feuds you have set up are intriguing and the way the shows are written is nicely organized. Keep it up

Re: WWE: 2014 - Rise & Fall

Thanks @chessarmy. Glad you enjoyed the show and it's nice to hear that someone enjoys my match writing. That's really an encouraging thing to hear as I worry about that most but to hear someone say that Match Writing is my 'strong point' is really helpful, thanks.

Really happy to see that you are interested in the feuds I am setting up and will be reading on. It's really appreciated and I will try to improve any grammatical errors in future shows.

Re: WWE: 2014 - Rise & Fall

RAW PREVIEW:

May 19th, 2014

Things continue to heat up as we head to WWE Payback! After getting a huge win over Daniel Bryan on last week's Friday Night SmackDown, how will Bryan react? Also, will Ziggler continue to build momentum and further threat Daniel Bryan and his current reign of the World Heavyweight Championship. Plus, after losing to Randy Orton on last week's RAW, CM Punk delivered a heartfelt promo and showed his disappointment at losing to 'The Viper'. But, only for a short period of time as he delivered a huge challenge to Randy Orton at WWE Payback for the WWE Championship. Will 'The Viper' Randy Orton accept the challenge on this week's RAW?

Plus, Paige continues to breakdown after her loss to a debuting Emma on this past week's RAW. She brutally attacked Natalya with a Kendo Stick as officials had to stop Paige from seriously harming Natalya, the condition of Natalya is currently unknown but she is expected to be out of action for a couple of weeks. Will there be any repercussions for Paige's actions? Also, things will continue to build between Christian and Ryback, as Christian is determined to win the Intercontinental Championship from the monster Ryback.

How will things continue to heat-up between Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow, former friends and former tag-team partners of the team 'Team Rhodes Scholars'? After turning on Cody Rhodes on last week's RAW, Rhodes has been determined to prove who is the strongest of the two and a match was set for WWE Payback. Things continued to build between the two men when Cody Rhodes suffered a devastating loss to The Shield's Seth Rollins. Post-Match Cody Rhodes was brutally attacked by Sandow who put him in to further agony with the Elbow of Disdain. Will Rhodes begin to regain his momentum on this week's RAW?

Confirmed for Raw:
- Randy Orton gives his answer to the challenge from CM Punk.
