THE ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA - FINAL STOPS

RECAPPING THE FINAL HOURS

-WrestleMania XXIX was the culmination of a year-long journey. The brightest lights, the grandest stage, it's what every single Superstar and Diva dreamed of; performing at WrestleMania. Week by week the pay per view drew closer, WWE Champion The Rock and Brock Lesnar having a contract signing, which ended with Lesnar F-5'ing the Brahma Bull through a table, forcing the hands of Stone Cold Steve Austin & Vickie Guerrero to bring in a 'No Contact' Rule. Neither man would be allowed to lay a finger on the other, otherwise they were stripped, either of their Number One Contendership or the WWE Championship. While the tensions escalated, it was The Rock who got the last laugh as he planted Paul Heyman with a Rock Bottom on the final Raw before WrestleMania, causing The Beast to come to the ring enraged at what had happened. However, now would not be the time Brock Lesnar got his hands on The Rock, the WWE Champion quickly left the ringside area to the delight of the crowd, Lesnar in all-out rage as Heyman lie motionless on the canvas.-

-The World Heavyweight Champion continued to prove himself throughout the weeks leading up to WrestleMania, managing to beat anyone that Interim GM Teddy Long put in front of him, even if it sometimes was aided by Big E Langston. His challengers, Alberto Del Rio and Ryback also looked impressive, but whenever the three men came in contact with one another, they could never get their hands on Ziggler long enough to exact any sort of revenge on the Champion. With WrestleMania drawing near, Teddy Long gave Del Rio and Ryback different chances to relieve some frustration, booking them in One on One contests with Big E Langston, which saw them both do exactly that, ending up defeating the bodyguard of Ziggler.-

-Kane continued his dominent tear throughout the WWE, which saw him gain the seventh spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, a spot originally given to the returning Evan Bourne. But, when Kane faced Bourne in a singles contest and beat the high flyer, Vickie Guerrero opted to give the spot to the Big Red Monster. The final two weeks saw the other six known superstars keep their distance from Kane as best they could, except for Randy Orton, who showed he wasn't afraid to take on anyone. It was that mindset that saw him beat Kane in a singles match, only to be blindsided by Ted DiBiase on the final SmackDown before the pay per view. If that wasn't enough, the seven superstars all got involved in a chaotic brawl, which ended with every single superstar landing their respective finishing move on someone else, the final one being Kane Chokeslamming Randy Orton, after he had delivered an RKO to DiBiase.-

-With The Deadman knowing his next WrestleMania obstacle to try and keep his streak alive, he focused in on the would-be Lumberjacks for his contest, as well as playing mind games with Dean Ambrose like only The Undertaker knew how. Week by week the lights would dim on The Shield and each time they blasted by on, Rollins and Reigns would be laid out, leaving Ambrose the only one left standing. In the past, The Undertaker's tactics and games would send his opponents into a frenzy of anger and intimidation, but not Ambrose. Instead, Dean simply and evilly grinned each time his teammates were attacked before going into long rants about how they were all aware of what would go down and ultimately, they would get the last laugh. Sure enough, on the final SmackDown this time it was The Undertaker who was inside the squared circle, involved in a tag team contest with Sheamus when the lights went out. When they came back on The Undertaker was the only one left standing, The Shield standing on their little perch in the crowd laughing and smirking as Taker just glared.-

-Stone Cold Steve Austin and CM Punk were always on a collision course, but with all the verbal and physical attacks by the Straight Edge Superstar on the Co-General Manager of Raw, Austin had finally had enough. After continually rejecting Punk's challenges to a match at WrestleMania, Austin finally got to a point where he felt CM Punk had gone too far. When Punk went for yet another attack on Austin, he was countered and nailed with a Stone Cold Stunner, Austin then getting a microphone and telling Punk that unfortunately, Punk was going to get exactly what he wanted, a date at WrestleMania XXIX with the Texas Rattlesnake. You'd think that CM Punk would be happy there and just wait for his chance at the Granddaddy of Them All, but instead, Punk got the final strike in before the big pay per view, laying Stone Cold out with the GTS to end the final episode of Monday Night Raw before 'Mania.-

-The match between John Cena and Kurt Angle looked like it was in jeopardy when Kurt Angle viciously assaulted Cena three weeks before WrestleMania. He pummeled Cena with stiff right hands, before driving a steel chair into his ankle repeatedly. Angle's viciousness didn't end there as he quickly locked in the Angle Lock, twisting and torquing Cena's ankle violently. When it was all said and done, John Cena was placed into a protective boot by medical personel and stretched to an awaiting ambulance. The weeks that followed saw Kurt Angle parade around with a huge smile on his face, telling everyone who would listen that John Cena wouldn't be able to make it to WrestleMania. However, to the crowds enjoyment, that was not the case as John Cena appeared several weeks later, still with a slight limp, favoring his ankle, but still taking the fight to Angle in the center of the ring. The Olympic Gold Medalist wanted nothing to do with John Cena on that night, deciding to steer clear of him until their encounter at WrestleMania.-

-While many of the feuds heading into WrestleMania involved physical confrontations, that seemed to be the complete opposite for Chris Jericho and the Intercontinental Champion, Wade Barrett. The two men traded fantastic promos with one another throughout the weeks leading up to WrestleMania, not bothering to get into any physical exchanges with the other. Instead, they talked themselves up, each other down and let their in-ring work speak for itself, seemingly trying to out perform each other, every single week. It was a refreshing change, but Teddy Long then decided to give everyone a preview of what was to come, placing them in a Non-Title Singles Match. The contest lasted for well over fifteen minutes, each man trading offenses, but it was Chris Jericho who defeated the Champion just Forty-Eight Hours before their Intercontinental Championship match.-

-Ever since Shad Gaspard returned to the WWE and rejoined JTG to reform Cryme Tyme, they had been a thorn in the newest Tag Team Champions sides. Neither team could gain a ton of momentum as anytime one team would defeat the other, the very next week the losing team would bounce back. It certainly would make for an interesting concept for their Tag Team Title match at 'Mania, both teams so similar and evenly matched. The final SmackDown saw both Cryme Tyme and the PrimeTime Players pick up tag team victories over different opponents, while the others watched on at ringside. No physical contact was made between the two teams, instead just a lot of jawing back and forth heading into the pay per view.-

-The return of Mickie James shook up the Diva's Division, but also meant that the new Diva's Champion, AJ Lee, had yet another big threat to her title reign. AJ would've had her work cut out for her just dealing with Kaitlyn, who seemed to find an extra-edge to reclaim her title once she lost it, but throw in the returning James, who was looking to become Diva's Champion and you had yourself a very serious threat to AJ Lee. She seemed to understand the challenge that stood before her, but while she did everything she could to protect herself and prove she deserved to carry the Diva's Championship, her two challengers also weren't backing down. All three women had a showdown on the final episode of Raw, AJ Lee managing to slither away from any potential harm as Mickie and Kaitlyn looked on with an intent stare, before turning their attention toward one another, none of them trusting the others as they headed into WrestleMania.-

Default Re: WWE 2013 - A New Path

Match Order

1) World Heavyweight Championship (Triple-Threat Match)- Dolph Ziggler (c) w/Big E. Langston vs Ryback (2013 Royal Rumble Match winner) vs Alberto Del Rio

Winner: New World Heavyweight Champion Ryback

Why I think Ryback will win because he has come up short so many times in his quest to become WWE Champion because of CM Punk and The Shield and Ryback went through hell outlasting 29 other men to win the 2013 Royal Rumble but also because he has all the momentum in the world right now and frankly Ziggler's reign I don't see it lasting at this point. But also I can't see Del Rio winning either because at this point I see him going out of the WHC title picture soon enough

2) Money in the Bank Ladder Match- Antonio Cesaro vs Kane vs Randy Orton vs Shelton Benjamin vs Ted DiBiase vs John Morrison vs Carlito vs ????

Winner: Mr. Money in the Bank Ted DiBiase

Why I see Ted DiBiase winning the Money in the Bank Ladder Match? Simple because of the fact that he has been impressive ever since making his return, he has just been on a roll since and not to mention he has his WWE Hall of Fame father The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, Sr. in his corner so you know Ted Sr. is going to play a role in his son winning and if he does, then everyone everyone will have a price for the DiBiase family and Ted's rise to the top where he should be can be begin but the question is if Ted Jr. wins, then on which champion will he cash in on?

3) WWE Tag Team Championship- The Prime Time Players (c) vs Cryme Tyme

Winners: Still WWE Tag Team Champions The Prime Time Players

Why I see The PTP retaining their titles against Cryme Tyme because PTP haven't been champions long but also because I feel like they have more going for them at this point than Cryme Tyme do but that is not to say that Cryme Tyme haven't been great ever since getting back together as a time but simply put PTP is simply put, just better than Cryme Tyme and with PTP it just equals millions of dollars

4) WWE Intercontinental Championship- Wade Barrett (c) vs Chris Jericho

Winner: New WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho

Why I see Jericho winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship? Because one more makes it 10 for Chris Jericho and at this point Jericho he deserves another title run especially with the WWE Intercontinental Championship and no one has won the IC Title as many times as Jericho has and I just see the momentum being on Jericho's side ever since returning but I see this match being a brutal contest but at the same time being a damn good wrestling match

5) WWE Divas Championship (Triple-Threat Match)- AJ Lee (c) vs Kaitlyn vs Mickie James

Winner: Still WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee

Why I see AJ winning this match? For one thing it is in AJ's backyard seeing as how she is from New Jersey/NY area but also because AJ I somehow see her pulling out all the stops here to win this match and I think she will just when Mickie has the match won, AJ will somehow throw her out of the ring pinning Kaitlyn cheaply to retain her title, because AJ is a cowardly diva and I see her winning that way but also because she is clearly outmatched as the champion so that is why for that reason I somehow see her winning all be it by cheap circumstances

6) 21-0 or 20-1 Streak Match- The Undertaker vs Dean Ambrose w/The Shield as Lumberjacks

Winner: Undertaker (21-0)

The streak is going to 21-0, I see Undertaker somehow winning this match overcoming all 3 members of The Shield all be it with a little bit of help from someone but just who will help Taker? Either way I see The Shield coming as closer as any man has come to ending the streak and they almost have it beat until Taker finally pulls it out to go 21-0 and when he does, the lights go out, gong is heard once, gong goes off twice lights come back on Taker is gone

7) Grudge Match- John Cena vs Kurt Angle

Winner: Kurt Angle

I see Kurt Angle winning and why? This is Kurt Angle's first WrestleMania back, his first WrestleMania in over 7 years, the last time he was ever at a WrestleMania competing was at WrestleMania 22 when he was the World Heavyweight Champion at the time defending his title against Mysterio and Orton in a Triple Threat and he lost on that night, and Angle he has been having momentum as of late but Cena he has had the momentum or the majority of it this whole feud, so that is why I see Angle winning

8) WWE Championship- The Rock (c) vs Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman

Winner: Still WWE Champion The Rock

I see Rock retaining his title against Brock especially because the last time these 2 ever were in the same together facing one another at a big pay per view was SummerSlam 2002 when Rock was WWE Undisputed Champion at the time and Brock was a rookie at that time, Brock won that match to become the youngest WWE Champion in history at the age of 25 ending Rock's run at the top but fast forward 11 years later and both these men are mega stars in their own right Rock being a A-list Hollywood actor plus being WWE Champion and Brock being a former UFC fighter, these men know success but something has to give and that is why I see Rock beating Brock this time around

9) Main Event- Once in a Lifetime- CM Punk w/Paul Heyman vs Stone Cold Steve Austin

Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin

I see this match being the match that closes out the show with this being the main event because it truly is once in a lifetime, and I see this match overshadowing Rock/Cena especially because of the build-up all be it it was a shorter build-up but at the same time their paths have crossed even before in the past but also because these 2 men deserve to have the main event spotlight on them but also because both these men are icons of their eras but also this is Austin's first match in over 10 years so that is why I see Austin winning, send the fans home happy

Match order and winners are done

As for the opening contest I predicted it already, in that it will be the World Heavyweight Championship Triple-Threat Match

As for the longest contest I see it being Once in a Lifetime Punk vs Austin

As for title changes I already predicted that there will be 2 titles that change hands, that being the World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Intercontinental Championship

As for returns for WrestleMania 29, I predict whoever the eighth man is for Money in the Bank will make his return at the big show, at WrestleMania 29 during the Money in the Bank Ladder Match when the 7 are announced, then the mystery eighth participant is announced that way

I think Barrett needs the win more than y2j maybe a Jericho heel turn? But IMO I think it's important that Barrett retains maybe losing the title at Extreme Rules to Cody or even Mcyintyre? be interesting to see how that pans out.

I respectfully out of respect happen to disagree with you because I feel Y2J he does deserve a 10th WWE Intercontinental Championship reign further cementing himself as being the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time because then he would be a 10-time WWE Intercontinental Champion whilst Barrett he is a 2-time WWE Intercontinental Champion and Wade Barrett I feel that he shouldn't even be in the upper midcard anymore but rather Barrett should be in the main event battling for the World Heavyweight Championship being in the World Title picture because at this point the IC Title is beneath Barrett and he should set his sights on finally becoming the first ever English-born World Heavyweight Champion in WWE history

While for Jericho at this point in his career if he were to go heel I honestly think he would be cheered more than he is booed

I agree in some aspects, but wouldn't you think that beating Jericho for a prestigious title at the grandest stage of them all help his world title credentials even more? Jericho would still be classed as a legend with 9 titles! But if Jericho does win I could live with it.

Other note - why not have Barrett hold double titles like Y2J with the IC and WHC, and go on to feud with Jericho therefore having Barrett the first English born world champ, and perhaps Jericho winning his 10th IC title a double title hold could boost both men.

I guess I could see your point with Barrett going over even though I think Jericho will win but that is beside the point, but who do you have winning the World Heavyweight Championship in the Triple-Threat Match with Ziggler defending the title against the 2013 Royal Rumble Match winner Ryback and the former champion Del Rio?
