Default WWE: The Takeover

It is January 1st, 2003. The WWE is booming with its loaded roster and experienced staff. The McMahon Family heads the throne of the WWE. World Domination Wrestling, led by "The Brain", is competing with the WWE. WDW has signed top notch talent, such as AJ Styles, Sabu, and Ken Shamrock. However, the WWE is not worried about WDW. WWE continues to grow in terms of talent in the ring, people in the seats, and money in the bank. The WWE is one wealthy pot of gold, which would be a dream to take hold of. Evolution is a group in the company which is dominating every aspect of RAW. Triple H holds the World Title, Randy Orton holds the Intercontinental Title, and Batista & Ric Flair hold the World Tag Team Titles. Evolution dominates RAW, but they would like more. They have vowed to take over the WWE. Many laugh at their attempts, but some have taken it personally. The McMahon's don't seem to be too worried about this threat, but if one thing is true about Evolution, they live up to their word and they will sell out at all costs to overtake the WWE and officially takeover.

Well, I'm using the game as something to play with, but I am adding a lot more stuff then just the stuff the game limits you too. There isn't going to be any resemblance to the game, trust me. My other BTB, WWE 2003, had little to no resemblance. But yes, haha, the Brain is from EWR!

WWE News and Notes

  • WWE is currently happy with the direction the company is headed down. They feel RAW and Smackdown! are in great hands with their respective general managers. Vince McMahon has given his public vote of confidence to both Eric Bischoff and his daughter Stephanie McMahon.
  • Also, Vince McMahon has praised the current WWE and World Heavyweight Champion. Despite Triple H, the World Heavyweight Champion, and Evolution's recent claims of "takeover", McMahon says it is not possible for RAW to have a better champion representing it.
  • The World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H, is coming off his latest feud with The Rock. Triple H came out of the feud still the WWE Champion. Triple H has stated he wants to headline Wrestlemania this year and retain his title on the biggest stage of them all. However, he has to get through the Royal Rumble first.
  • Brock Lesnar, the WWE Champion, has seemingly gone through everyone on the Smackdown! roster. His manager, Paul Heyman, has told the media that his client has nothing left to do on Smackdown! after annihilating everybody. His last rival, Eddie Guerrero, is still dealing with the beating Lesnar put on him at the end of their rivalry. Lesnar is looking for a real challenge and rumor has it nobody wants to go after the "Next Big Thing."
  • World Domination Wrestling, led by "The Brain," is a company that is still trying to build their foundation. WWE has said to be in bidding wars with WDW to attain talent that is waiting to be signed. However, WDW is said to be winning these bidding wars. Vince McMahon is rumored to be okay with not signing these talents because the talent on the WWE's roster is far more superior than WDW's roster. WDW's first live event is WDW Red Alert, January 27th on Pay Per View.

1/3/03 WWE Thursday Night Smackdown!

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring to start Smackdown! Lesnar holds the title around his shoulder, smirking to the crowd, as Heyman uses his mouth piece. Heyman says that his client, ďthe Next Big Thing,Ē has proved to be unstoppable and he is feels he might have to leave Smackdown! and join the superior brand, RAW. He says that Kurt Angle, the Undertaker, John Cena, and Big Show have no chance against Lesnar. He says his client has done it all. Heyman says he will offer the locker room one more chance to challenge the monster before he formally announces his departure from Smackdown! Heyman mentions that Lesnar beat Eddie Guerrero to a bloody pulp and the only lying that Eddie does now is lie that his spirit is not broken. Heyman says no one wants to come out and he begins to leave the ring with Lesnar until Hardcore Hollyís music hits.

Holly makes his way out to a cheer from the crowd. Holly slides in the ring and goes face to face with Lesnar. Lesnar continues to smirk and Holly tells Lesnar that people in the back might be scared of him, but Holly says that people have enough to worry about and fear should not be one of them. Hardcore Holly says he never gets a chance because people say heís not ready for the primetime. He says that he is going to change that when he beats Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. Lesnar smirks and looks at Heyman. Both men laugh and Hardcore Holly punches Lesnar in the face. Lesnar turns his head in what seems like shock. He looks back Holly and Holly punches him again. Lesnar gets angry and grabs Holly, slamming knee after knee into the gut of Holly. Lesnar throws him into the turnbuckle, but Holly comes running into Lesnar. Lesnar clotheslines Holly down on the mat. Lesnar looks at Holly and kicks his body out of the ring. Lesnar leaves the ring with Heyman smirking at the attempts of Hardcore Holly.

She asks Eddie if he is okay after the Brock Lesnar match he had a few weeks ago with him. Eddie mumbles that he is fine and quickly changes the subject. Eddie says he doesnít want to face Nunzio and Stamboli tonight in a tag team match. He tells Stephanie he deserves better after just being a contender for the WWE Title. She says that she is just holding Eddie back a little and giving him a break from the main event stage. She says that once Eddie is one hundred percent he could go back after Lesnar. Eddie thinks the idea is stupid and Stephanie says that if he is lucky and wins tonight, he could become the Tag Team Champion in the near future. She tells Eddie to leave because she is busy, so Eddie rolls his eyes and leaves.

Quote:
Los Guerreros (Eddie Guerrero & Chavo Guerrero) vs F.B.I. (Johnny Stamboli & Nunzio); Tag Team Match

Eddie and Chavo Guerrero look to have the advantage, but Eddie Guerrero looks mentally out of the match. F.B.I. takes advantage of Eddieís mental lapse. Eddie doesnít seem to into the match, as Chavo tries for a tag and Eddie doesnít extend his arm out helping his partner. The crowd chants for Eddie, but it doesnít do much for him. Stamboli brings down Chavo and goes up to Guerrero and tells him he is nothing but a coward anymore. Stamboli says he will hurt Chavo and Eddie tries to politely tell him not to. Nunzio distracts the referee and Chavo gets up behind Stamboli. Stamboli hits a kick straight to the grapefruits on Chavo. Eddie gets pissed and nails Stamboli with a kick to the head. Both men reach for the tag and Nunzio gets tagged in with Eddie. Eddie dominates Nunzio and knocks Stamboli off the apron. Eddie hits the Frogsplash for the win.

Quote:
Big Show vs Worldís Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin); Handicap Match

The Worldís Greatest Tag Team is good at Tag Team matches and you would assume them as a team in a handicap match would be ideal. However, they are facing the United States Champion, Big Show. Haas and Benjamin focus on the Big Showís legs early in the match and finally get him to his knees and down on the mat. The quickness of Haas and Benjamin infuriate Show, but Show finally gets the upperhand on the team. Show wares both of them down. He grabs Haas around the neck and throws him over the top rope to the floor. He pushes Benjamin off the apron and goes after him. Show throws Benjamin against the barrier and steel steps, before rolling Haas back into the ring and chokeslamming him for the win.

Winner: Big Show

1/7/03 WWE Monday Night RAW

Monday Night RAW begins with all of Evolution standing in the squared circle. Triple H introduces Evolution in case anyone has forgotten. He introduces Batista, the Animal, muscle of the group, and the next future beast in the company. Triple H offers Brock Lesnar to come to RAW like he proposed because before he gets to the World Champion, he would be taken out by Batista. Next, Triple H talks about Randy Orton. He says that Orton is the best Intercontinental Champion someone could ask for and he says that Randy is going to keep the legend tradition of the Orton family going. Triple H calls out Ric Flair and Flair begins strutting around. Triple H says that Flair not only has the best moves in the WWE, but he also is the brains of this operation. Finally, Triple H introduces himself as the leader of Evolution. He calls Evolution not only a group, but he calls it the wrestling industry today. He says Evolution is wrestling. He says that people come to sold out arenas and turn on their TVís to watch what Evolution is going to do next. Triple H says he is stronger than Vince McMahon. He says he has the WWE in the palm of his hand and the WWE will bow down to Evolution sooner than later. He asks if anyone wants to hop on the bandwagon and avoid the humiliation Evolution will surely bring them.

Triple H waits, when suddenly Shawn Michaels music hits. The Heartbreak Kid makes his way down the ramp to the crowd's cheer. He makes his way into the ring and then gets very serious. He gets a microphone and looks around to the crowd chanting his name. Shawn thinks it is right to introduce himself like Triple H did and he introduces himself as the Heartbreak Kid, HBK, Sexy Boy, and also Triple Hís best friend. He says he is embarrassed to call himself that, but he cannot deny the truth. He asks Triple H what happened to the Hunter who always wanted to have a good time. Shawn says he is sick of the takeover crap. He says he would have never thought heíd see this out of his best friend. Triple Hís reply is simple; people grow up and dreams become bigger. He continues by saying when dreams become a reality, it would be stupid to leave them. Shawn says it is stupid to think Evolution is bigger than the McMahon family. All Triple H does is smile and Shawn says he doesnít want to be a part of all this when it goes down. Triple H interrupts him and tells Shawn that everyone is involved and nobody could hide. Triple H tells HBK that he is still his best friend and deep down, he doesnít want to see his best friend get hurt. Triple H says that is why he is offering Shawn Michaels a spot with the winning team.

Michaels looks shocked and asks Triple H if that means an invitation to join Evolution. Triple H tells him yes and he would never want to see his brother get hurt, so he wants to offer him a spot where nobody is going to suffer. Triple H extends his hand and Michaels has second thoughts. Triple H tells Shawn to think of it as a grown up DX. The crowd boos and Triple H offers the handshake again. Shawn looks around to the crowd and looks back at Triple H, saying he cannot do it. Triple H gets angry and says if he isnít with the cause, their friendship will not get in the way of what they are going to do. Shawn tells Triple H not to get himself caught up with this takeover because it simply isnít possible. Triple H tells Shawn to never tell him what isnít possible. He gives Shawn one more chance and Shawn shakes his head. Shawn says he is only shaking his hand because it is the last time he is ever going do it until he cuts this crap out. Triple H drops the microphone and Evolution surrounds HBK in the ring. All four men go after HBK and they beat him down to the mat. Triple H says he hopes Shawn learned something from all of this because tonight, he is going to face Ric Flair and promises hell from now on out until Shawn changes his mind. They walk off, as RAW goes to commercial.

RAW comes back on air with Booker T backstage walking around. Booker keeps talking to himself, telling himself how big the Royal Rumble is and how he needs to win it and get back the World Championship. He talks about some Ďfoosí he needs to beat before becoming the next champion and he walks by Goldbergís locker room. He tries to listen inside the locker room and goes to open it, but it is locked. He listens again and hears someone, presumably Goldberg, breathing hard inside. Booker looks spooked and walks away.

Quote:
Molly Holly vs Ivory; Singles Match

The Womanís Champion, Molly Holly, is in action against Ivory in a non-title match. Molly is looking to stay hot and a win for Ivory could put her in the driverís seat for a title shot. Molly Holly and Ivory go even for the first minute or two of the match. However, Molly proves to be too much for Ivory and beats Molly with a Molly-Go-Round and a three count.

Winner: Molly Holly

RAW comes back on air and La Resistance makes their way into General Manager Eric Bischoffís office. Rene Dupree tries to sway Bischoff to give them a Tag Team Title shot against Batista and Ric Flair, but Bischoff says that just cannot happen right now. Dupree says they want their shot and Bischoff says theyíll get it, but they need to get their asses to the ring because their match is now.

Quote:
La Resistance (Rene Dupree & Sylvan Grenier) vs Lance Storm & Hurricane; Tag Team Match

La Resistance hurries to get to the ring for the match. La Resistance is the more experienced team then Storm and Hurricane. However, Storm and Hurricane show some chemistry as a team before the experience factor takes over and La Resistance gains momentum. Dupree knocks Lance Storm off the ropes and pulls a rollup on Hurricane for the three count.

Winner: La Resistance (Rene Dupree & Sylvan Grenier)

The Rock makes his way out and the crowd is obviously behind the Great One. The Rock seems laid back and jokes around about the Evolution Ďtakeoverí and other none sense. The Rock says he loves to joke around with the WWE Universe, but he really came out here for one important reason. He says that watching Smackdown! last week and tonightís opening with Evolution made him real hungry. He says the motivation is everywhere to get a shot at either Brock Lesnar or Triple H and take them off their high horse. He says that will all start at the Royal Rumble. Rock says he is going to win the Royal Rumble and go onto Wrestlemania to become a champion. Suddenly, Chris Jerichoís music hits.

Chris Jericho makes his way out and begins talking as he walks to the ring. He says he really does have a habit of interrupting the Rock and he says he enjoys it. He gets in the ring and says the best two men in the WWE who donít have titles are in the ring and both of them have a lot riding on the Royal Rumble. Jericho laughs and says that it wonít matter what the Rock does because at the Royal Rumble, it will come down to the Rock and Chris Jericho at the end. He says it is meant to be. Movie star and a rock star for a shot at glory at Wrestlemania. Jericho says it will end with Rock going over the top rope and Jericho going on for gold. Suddenly, interrupting Jericho, Randy Ortonís music hits.

Randy Orton makes his way onto the stage and Jericho asks him what kind of assclown interrupts him and the Second Greatest One. Orton smiles on the stage, while clapping for the men in the ring. Orton says it was funny watching this backstage because they both think they are going to win the Royal Rumble. Orton tells his story of what really is going to happen. He says that Flair is going to pull some strings and Randy Orton will get the 30th entry into the Rumble and eliminate Chris Jericho and The Rock simultaneously. He will then proceed to beat Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania and the takeover will continue. Rock and Jericho look at each other and laugh. Rock asks Orton what he thinks about Rock and Jericho both turning their shoe sideways and sticking it up Ortonís ass. Orton doesnít reply and Rock says that him and Jericho arenít going to let some punk who thinks Daddy and Triple H are going to get him through the WWE. He says tonight him and Jericho are going to teach him a valuable lesson. Jericho backs up behind Rock and hits the Rock in the back of the head with the microphone. Rock goes down and Jericho tells Orton that they are going to teach Orton a lesson tonight, but Rock also deserved a lesson of his own. The crowd boos Jericho and Orton, as RAW goes to commercial.

Quote:
Kane vs Bubba Ray Dudley; Singles Match

Kane seems like the favorite in this match, but Bubba Ray Dudley wonít make it that easy. Bubba doesnít get intimidated by Kane and attempts to put up a fight. However, the Big Red Monster turns out to be way too much for the single Dudley and Kane wins by a chokeslam.

Winner: Kane
The camera goes backstage to Josh Mathews and Rob Van Dam. Mathews asks Rob Van Dam how everything is going. RVD says all is great and is preparing for the Royal Rumble. However, he says he got another offer on the counter. He says the Royal Rumble is coming up and he is going to shock the world by winning it. He says that he may not be as big as Kane, or as popular as the Rock, or as strong as Lesnar, but he feels he can win this thing. He says anything can happen when your as extreme as he is. RVD walks away and we go to commercial.

Quote:
The Rock vs Chris Jericho vs Randy Orton; Triple Threat Match

Rock, Jericho, and Orton all surround each other in the ring. All three men are looking to make a statement and a win here would do it. Rock and Jericho go after Orton to start the match, but Jericho turns on the Rock again and a brawl breaks out. Orton keeps trying to go for the RKO throughout the match, but someone would break it up. Rock and Jericho go to team up on Orton again toward the end and Jericho goes to turn on the Rock again. However, this time the Rock is ready. Rock hits Jericho with the spinebuster and is going for the Peopleís Elbow. Orton gets up and goes to interrupt the Peopleís Elbow. Rock counters and hits the Rock Bottom on Orton for the three count.

Winner: The Rock
Rock celebrates in the ring, as Chris Jericho rolls out of the ring and stares at Rock from the outside. Rock looks down at Jericho and they exchange stares. RAW comes back on air and JR advertises that on Smackdown!, the confused and unmotivated Eddie Guerrero will be in action with Chavo Guerrero to face the Basham Brothers in a tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. King and JR recap what happened to start the show tonight and how that set up tonightís main event.

Quote:
Ric Flair vs Shawn Michaels; Singles Match

Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels are in the ring and stare each other down. Michaels is still hurting from the beat down earlier. Batista stands at ringside in Flairís corner. Michaels and Flair have a very strategic battle, but Flair continues to have the upperhand. Whenever Michaels gets on a roll, Batista gets on the apron and ruins Michaels momentum. Batista gets on the apron during one of Michaels runs and Michaels ruins one of Flairís cheap shots by giving a low blow of his own. Michaels hits a Sweet Chin Music on an unsuspecting Batista and goes to load up against Flair. Flair is trying to get up, but Triple Hís music hits and the World Champion makes his way down the ramp. Michaels loses his attention and goes against the ropes to yell at Triple H. Flair comes crawling from behind and low blowís Shawn Michaels. The referee calls for the bell.

Winner: By DQ, Shawn Michaels
Michaels goes down again and Flair goes and puts him in the Figure Four Lock to hold him down. Triple H circles the ring and pulls out a sledgehammer from under the ring. He slides in the ring and tells Flair to let go of the painful submission. Flair holds up Shawn and Triple H looks to use the sledgehammer in the most painful way ever. Triple H giddies up to hit Shawn in the head with the sledgehammer, but stops before contact. Triple H drops the sledgehammer and Flair drops Shawn. Shawn drops onto the mat in pain. Triple H yells at Shawn, telling him he had his chance. They leave and Shawn is left down in pain, as RAW ends.

They hype up the Undertaker vs Chris Benoit match tonight, the WWE Tag Team Title match, and tell us that Paul Heyman will have a celebration for Brock Lesnarís title reign. Undertakerís music hits and the American Badass rides around the ring in his motorcycle and makes his way into the ring. Undertaker talks about his match tonight and the match will be important to decide who will face Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. Undertaker says he is ready for Lesnar and has no reason to be worried. Also, he says there is no reason to be scared of a punk like Chris Benoit. He says Benoit looks all tough on the outside, but on the inside he is weak and vulnerable. He is hiding it by attempting to be tough. Taker says that everyone falls for it, but not him. He says tonight he will bury Benoitís act once and for all. Suddenly, Benoitís music hits and he makes his way down to the ring.

Benoit comes to the ring and he talks about how tensions are rising throughout the locker room. He understands there are the pressures of this, personal issues, and the Royal Rumble. However, Benoit says that true champions come out of times like these and those who come out of times like these are those who show no mercy and never take somebody lightly. Benoit says he isnít going to let his guard down, while he thinks Undertaker has already let his guard down. Undertaker says his guard is never down and turns around. Benoit goes for the cheap shot, but Taker turns around and counters the punch. Taker lets go of Benoit and tells him never to do that again. He tells Benoit he needs to sit down and realize if he never took the foot off the pedal, then he would have won the WWE Championship by now. He says Benoit has never won it and tonight his dreams will be put to rest one more time with just one simple three count. Undertaker drops the microphone and leaves, as Smackdown! goes to commercial.

Bashamís start the match early and use a lot of tag inís and tag outís. However, Eddie catches Doug Basham not being able to tag in and they work him good. Eddie goes for a Frog Splash, but Danny trips up Eddie and Eddie crashes onto the mat for a two count by Doug. They both get a tag into Danny and Chavo. The ring has a red carpet covering it and they make their way into the ring by an escort, who lowers the rope for both of them. Heyman says that finally him and his client, Brock Lesnar, are being treated like the kings they are. He says without him, Smackdown! would be in the dumps. He says that Smackdown! would turn into a place where tumbleweed rolling across the ring would be more interesting than Hardcore Holly wrestling John Cena. He says the WWE would have to cancel the show and move all the wrestlers exclusive to Smackdown! onto RAW. That would cause a cluster-you-know-what on RAW and causing a lot of superstars to complain because they donít get enough spotlight on a little two hour show. A lot of stars leave and before you know it nobody is left on the roster except for Funaki and Rodney Mack. Heyman says that bottom line, Brock Lesnar is the backbone of the WWE and he needs to be treated like it.

He continues saying that the WWE Championship has never been in such prestigious and safe hands before. He doesnít understand why Hall of Famers donít come up to Brock, shake his hand, and thank Brock for what he does for the WWE. Heyman says Hulk Hogan should come out of retirement and come to this ring and kiss Brock Lesnarís feet. He says Brock is that good and any other company would welcome Brock with open arms, champagne, and anything the Next Big Thing desires. Heyman says this celebration of Brockís accomplishments should not be just tonight, but every night. Michael Cole and Tazz should have a segment each Thursday on how Brock Lesnar is doing. Heyman continues to ramble and concludes by saying that Stephanie McMahonís competitive spirit in choosing the best competitor for Brock at the Royal Rumble isnít going to work. He says Brock is going to annihilate somebody yet again and put them in a sad, sad state of mind.

Suddenly, Hardcore Holly comes running down the ramp with a steel chair and slides into the ring. Lesnar gets the hell out of the ring, but Heyman is backed into a corner. Holly corners Heyman and Heyman tries to negotiate. He asks Holly what he wants. Holly says he wants a chance at Brock Lesnar. Heyman goes over a list of cons of why not to face Lesnar. Lesnar, meanwhile, is sneaking up behind Holly. He reaches and grabs Hollyís chair and snatches it away. Holly turns around and Lesnar hits Holly with the steel chair across the head. Holly goes down and Lesnar stares at his unconscious body, as Smackdown! goes to commercial.

Big Show vs Edge; Singles Match

Big Show faces Edge, after Big Show beat Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas last week in a handicap match. Edge tries to use the tactic of speed against Show, but, like last week, Show figures it out and ends up chokeslamming Edge for the three count and the victory.

Winner: Big Show
Chris Benoit is seen getting ready for his match, which is next, as Smackdown! goes to commercial!

Quote:
Undertaker vs Chris Benoit; Singles Match

The Undertaker and Chris Benoit get in the ring and stand next to each other. Undertakerís height difference is overwhelming for many, but not Benoit. Benoit starts the brawl and Undertaker responds right back. These two go back and forth, with Benoit attempting to get the Crossface locked in with no success. Undertaker, though, gets the upperhand and lifts up Benoit for a chokeslam. Benoit counters and finally locks in the Crossface. Undertaker is in the hold for a long time, but somehow reaches the ropes. Benoit uses the momentum to get the Undertaker down in the ring. Benoit goes for the flying headbutt, but goes for it and Undertaker moves. Undertaker waits for Benoit to get up and Taker hits the Last Ride for the three count and the victory.

Winner: Undertaker
Undertaker celebrates in the ring and looks down at the downed, exhausted Benoit and gives him the look of respect. Undertaker walks out the victor, as Smackdown! ends.

1/14/03 WWE Monday Night RAW

RAW comes on air with Shawn Michaels music hitting. The crowd goes wild for the Heartbreak Kid, who makes his way into the ring. Shawn thanks the crowd for all the support and says it has been a tough week for him. He says he had a chance to join the enemy and sell his soul permanently, but he likes to take on the enemy rather than be the enemy. He says he wants justice on Evolution and tonight is the beginning. He briefly gets into special times between him and Triple H and he says he will snap Hunter out of his funk and get him back to the man that everybody once loved, not a lunatic who thinks he is going to own the place one day. However, Shawn says there is a bigger problem and that is the actual chairman of the WWE. Shawn wants to know why when a legitimate threat talks about taking over the WWE, the chairman does nothing. Almost instantly, Mr. McMahonís music hits.

Mr. McMahon makes his way down to the ring with a walk of urgency, but a look of confidence. Vince makes his way into the ring and Shawn looks at him with a lost look. Vince says it is okay what Evolution is doing because there is no way that a group of four superstars can logically take over the WWE. Vince says people have been there and done that. He says the result is always the same. He thanks Shawn for trying to stop them and he encourages Shawn to continue, but the threat is nonexistent. Shawn says he knows Triple H very personally and he knows that if Hunter wants to do something, he is going to do it. Vince says he knows him very well too and that absolutely nothing is going to happen. Shawn tells Vince that if something does happen, do not come to him asking for help. However, Shawn says he has one request. He asks Vince for a shot at Triple H at the Royal Rumble for the World Heavyweight Championship.

The crowd cheers, but as they cheer, Evolutionís music hits and all of Evolution make their way onto the stage. Vince smiles as they come out and tells them it is nice to see them. Triple H tells Vince to cut the introductions and get right to business. Vince starts to talk, but Triple H interrupts and says that last week Evolution made a statement against Shawn and how dare Shawn come out here and think he can actually beat him in a match this Sunday. Shawn says he is confident he can do it and Triple H just simply laughs. The crowd boos Triple H and Vince says he has a lot to think about and might mull over this for the night. Vince begins to leave and Shawn stops him and asks him how can he be proud of a company that has its World Champion as a traitor who wants to take over the company that Vinceís dad built. He says that the Vince McMahon from five years ago would tell Evolution to be with the program or theyíll hear the famous words: ďYouíre Fired.Ē Shawn tells Vince that he isnít going to do that and that is because our chairman is now soft.

Vince gets furious and comes back in the ring. He gets into Shawnís face and tells Shawn to shut the hell up. Vince says his balls are still here and he isnít afraid to shake things up. He says he likes that Evolution is trying to shake things up, but obviously they arenít going to. He says he likes a little competition, but what he doesnít like is some punk who wears a cowboy hat telling him he doesnít have it anymore. He says that he was going to give Shawn his title shot, but now he has to earn it. He says that tonight there will be a tag team match between Triple H and Ric Flair facing Shawn Michaels and Booker T. He says if Shawn wins, he will get his title shot. However, if he loses, he promises Shawn will never get a title shot again. Vince walks off, as RAW goes to commercial.

RAW comes back on air with Josh Mathews backstage with the Rock. Mathews asks the Rock about his match with Chris Jericho tonight. Rock says that nobody messes with the Great One and Jericho pushed the limits last week. Rock says that Orton was the only thing between him and Jericho last week and finally there will be nothing between the two. Rock says he is going to teach Jericho a lesson and after that he is going to head into the Royal Rumble this Sunday and send every man in front of him over the top rope and head to Wrestlemania because that IS what The Rock is cookiní.

Quote:
Rodney Mack vs Batista; Singles Match

Batista comes into action looking to take down the equal sized opponent of Rodney Mack. Theodore Long is in Mackís corner. Mack uses his size against Batista early, but Batistaís pure strength overtakes Mack and Batista brings down Mack. Batista goes for the Batista Bomb and uses his strength to get Mack up, hitting Mack hard against the mat for the three count.

Winner: Batista

RAW comes back on air with Rene Dupree looking at himself in the mirror and talking to himself in his native French. DíVon Dudley walks behind Dupree and looks at him with a perplexed look on his face. DíVon simply says what the hell and Dupree turns around with a smile on his face telling DíVon that he is jealous. DíVon asks what the hell he was doing and Dupree tells DíVon that he was practicing his poses for when he wins the Royal Rumble this Sunday and goes onto Wrestlemania to become the European World Champion everyone wants. DíVon shakes his head and tells Dupree that he is nuts and asks how can he win the Royal Rumble when he canít even beat the Dudley Boyz? DíVon laughs and walks away, as Dupree is left angry.

Quote:
Kane vs Christian vs Rob Van Dam; Triple Threat Match

Kane, Christian, and Rob Van Dam all are in the ring and all are looking for momentum going into the Royal Rumble this Sunday. Christian and RVD keep the match moving fast with the speed, something that Kane cannot seem to keep up with. Kane tries to use his strength, but the other two keep double teaming him when something gets going. They get Kane to the outside, when RVD gets Christian down and RVD hits a rolling thunder and hits the Frog Splash. RVD goes for the pin, but Kane breaks it up. RVD eventually keeps the momentum going and gets Christian and Kane down for the Frog Splash. He goes for it, but Kane moves and RVD only strikes Christian. Kane gets up and throws RVD out of the ring and Kane pins Christian for the win.

Winner: Kane

RAW comes back on air with Vince McMahon heading back to his limo. Vince is about to go into his limo when he hears somebody calling him to stop. Vince steps out and is met by Eric Bischoff. Bischoff says he isnít happy about Shawn Michaels getting this title opportunity tonight and that it is his show. Vince asks Bischoff if he is questioning the bossesí decision. Bischoff laughs that off and says no, but he had other plans for the show and that is why he is here; to run a grade A show. Vince tells him to relax and deal with other business like Evolution trying to take over RAW. Bischoff seems confused and tells Vince that he thought Evolution was trying to take over the WWE, not just RAW. Vince laughs and begins to walk into his limo and tells Bischoff that they canít take over the WWE unless they take over RAW. Vince leaves and we go ringside.

Quote:
The Rock vs Chris Jericho; Singles Match

These two rivals make their way into the ring and are focused to beat one another. Rock and Jericho stay with their respective game plans. Jericho works the Rockís lower back and Rock works Jerichoís right arm. Jericho tries to get the Walls of Jericho, but is countered and thrown outside the ring. Rock comes out to the outside, but Jericho sets him up and throws Rock back-first into the steel steps. Rock is hurting and is put in the Walls of Jericho later. Rock is put in it for a long time, but gets to the ropes. Jericho is frustrated and gets sloppy, allowing Rock to almost win on a rollup. Rock gets momentum with Jericho missing the Lionsault and Rock hits the spinebuster to set up the Peopleís Elbow. Rock hits it and goes for the Rock Bottom when Jericho gets up, which connects. Rock goes for the pin and gets the three count.

Winner: The Rock
Rock celebrates while Jericho gets up. Rock bumps into Jericho and both men stare each other down. They stare down each other for a long time. Rock goes for a handshake, but Jericho gives Rock and disgusted look and turns around and leaves the ring, as RAW goes to commercial.

__________________________________________

RAW comes back on air with Jericho backstage walking back from the match in pure disappointment. He walks past Bubba Ray and DíVon Dudley. Both men talk about how they are going to win the Rumble. They end up getting to the point of that only one of them can win the Rumble and what if it gets down to those two at the end. Bubba and DíVon look a little upset, but says they would fight it out and the best man would win. Bubba jokes around and says that if DíVon wins, he would probably have to put him through a table after the match. They laugh, but Rene Dupree comes running behind Bubba and knocks him down with a headshot. DíVon and Rene share right hands until Rene hits a DDT to DíVon onto the walkway and Rene walks away satisfied, as we go ringside.

Quote:
Randy Orton vs Goldberg; Singles Match

Randy Orton is out in the ring and has to endure the intimidating Goldberg entrance. Goldberg comes out pumped and is obviously a favorite to win the Royal Rumble. At the crack of the bell, Orton goes to the outside of the ring. However, Goldberg follows him and ends up chasing Orton back into the ring. Goldberg dominates the match, but Orton undoes the turnbuckle pad and tries to get Goldberg to run into the exposed turnbuckle. Orton tries to Irish Whip Goldberg from one corner to the exposed corner, but Goldberg counters the whip and whips Orton into the exposed corner. Orton hits it hard and turns around into a Goldberg spear for the three count.

Winner: Goldberg
Batista comes from the back and runs into the ring. He goes one on one with Goldberg, sharing right hands. Goldberg gets the upperhand on Batista and goes for the spear, but Orton sneaks up behind Goldberg and hits him with a low blow. Goldberg goes down and Batista hits the Batista Bomb on Goldberg to send RAW to commercial.

RAW comes back on air and JR and King announce the Smackdown! main event, which is a Triple Threat Match between Hardcore Holly, Undertaker, and Kurt Angle. JR says the winner of the match will receive a title shot against the champion Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. JR reminds us of the implications of tonightís RAW main event and it begins now!

Quote:
Triple H & Ric Flair vs Shawn Michaels & Booker T; Tag Team Match; If Michaels & Booker T win, Michaels gets a World Heavyweight Title match at the Royal Rumble

All four men make their way into the ring. All men look at each other with some sort of intensity except for Booker T, who isnít a part of this rival, but is looking for momentum going into the Royal Rumble. Booker T and Triple H start off the match. Triple H works Booker and tags in Flair to stay fresh. They continue to work Booker using cheap tactics, but they work. Booker ends up countering a Flair knee to the gut with a spinebuster and both men go for the tag. Triple H and Shawn Michaels go at each other and the crowd is on their feet. Shawn works Triple H into the corner, but Flair tags himself in. Shawn and Flair go at it for a good amount of time. Shawn will not let Flair tag into Triple H. Shawn sets up Flair for a Sweet Chin Music. Triple H goes to interfere, but Booker comes out of nowhere and clotheslines himself and Triple H over the top rope. Shawn hits the Sweet Chin Music on Flair and goes for the three count, which he gets.

Winner: Shawn Michaels & Booker T
Shawn Michaels celebrates in the ring and gets his arm raised high. Ric Flair is knocked out and meanwhile on the outside, Triple H brawls with Booker T. Triple H throws Booker into the announcers table and comes back into the ring. Triple H gets up and goes face to face with Shawn Michaels. The two stare each other down and talk trash, but this allows Batista and Randy Orton to come running down from the back. Shawn realizes this and gets right in on Triple H before tossing Batista over the top rope to the outside and going one on one with Orton. The two share right hands until Triple H hits Michaels from the back. On the outside, Booker and Batista go at it and Booker throws Batista into the steel steps. Booker slides in the ring in an attempt to help Michaels.

Michaels is getting double teamed by Orton and Triple H. Booker turns around Orton and they battle before Booker hits him in the gut and hits the Scissors Kick on Orton. Orton rolls out of the ring with Flair and Booker goes after Triple H. Booker holds his own against the World Heavyweight Champion and that allows Michaels to gain his surroundings in the corner. Triple H gets the upperhand and hits the Pedigree to Booker and turns around to see Michaels going for the Sweet Chin Music. Triple H gets down immediately and gets out of the ring. Michaels stares down Triple H, as Michaels music hits and RAW goes off air with the stare down.

1/17/03 WWE Thursday Night Smackdown!

Smackdown! opens up with the Undertakerís music hitting and the Undertaker comes out. Undertaker gets in the ring and talks about tonightís main event. Undertaker says he doesnít forget when somebody tries to teach the Undertaker a lesson. He says that Brock Lesnar may have gotten him once, but he promises he wonít get him again. He says that he doesnít need the Royal Rumble because once he wins tonight, he is going to drive down to the Rumble this Sunday and beat the living hell out of Brock Lesnar. He says that Kurt Angle and Hardcore Holly have no chance tonight, but is then interrupted by Kurt Angle.

Kurt Angleís music hits and Angle makes his way out to a big cheer. Angle looks over at the Undertaker and laughs. He says that him and Taker both have taken on Lesnar and the result has been the same. However, Angle agrees that it isnít going to happen again. Angle says that he is going to beat Lesnar this Sunday, though, and not Undertaker. Undertaker says that is only wishful thinking by Angle and he is just showering himself with belief before Taker thunders down a cloud of defeat later on tonight. Angle disagrees and says that tonight is going to be a battle worthy of Wrestlemania between a Hall of Famer and an Olympic Gold Medalist.

Out of nowhere, Hardcore Hollyís music hits and Holly makes his way into the ring. Holly gets a microphone and is furious. He says it is great hearing about all of Angle and Takerís accomplishments, but wants to know why both of these guys think that only one of them can win this match tonight. Holly says that tonight he is walking out of here victorious and he promises to beat Lesnar and win his first WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. Taker laughs and tells Hardcore to try his best tonight, but this match is going to be decided by one of the Ďmore experiencedí guys in the match. Taker says that him and Angle earned their way into tonightís match and wants to know what Holly did to get in the match besides getting his ass kicked by Brock Lesnar. Holly smirks and looks up at the Undertaker, not intimidated.

Holly says he earned his way into this match because he actually had the guts to stand up to Brock Lesnar and tell him he isnít unstoppable. He said he didnít see Angle or Taker come out there when he called out the locker room. Holly says that was his opportunity and Stephanie McMahon liked that. She told me that I earned my shot then and that is why I am in the match and that is why I am going to win tonight. Undertaker says that this story is nice and all, but it ends tonight. He tells Holly to get back to the locker room and maybe go play find a match more in his area, like a hardcore match. Holly laughs and says that another thing Stephanie told him was that tonightís triple threat match is actually going to be a hardcore match. Holly says everything is fair game tonight and drops the microphone and leaves, sending Smackdown! to commercial.

Smackdown! comes back on air with the new WWE Tag Team Champions backstage, Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero. Chavo is still ecstatic about his win, yet Eddie seems very upset again. Chavo asks Eddie what is bothering him and Eddie says heís fine. Chavo stops walking and holds Eddie up. He tells Eddie to talk to him because he knows something is wrong. Eddie gets irritated and goes off on Chavo, telling him that he doesnít care about these titles because the WWE Tag Team Titles are worthless and if Chavo doesnít shut the hell up, one of these titles might end up across Chavoís face. Eddie begins to walk away, as Chavo looks confused and we go ringside.

Michael Cole and Tazz are at ringside and mention the obvious tension between Chavo and Eddie Guerrero. Tazz says that they can be great Tag Team Champions, but Eddie just needs to get over it and get his head straight. Cole agrees and they run down the current card for the Royal Rumble, just 72 hours away. There is the 30 man Royal Rumble match, which has the winner eligible for a title shot of his choosing at Wrestlemania. The World Title will be defended, as Triple H will defend against the challenger Shawn Michaels. Finally, the winner of tonightís triple threat match will face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship just three short nights from now. Michael Cole hypes an interview with the WWE Champion coming up after the break.

Smackdown! comes back on air with Josh Mathews backstage. He knocks on Brock Lesnarís door, which turns out to just squeak open. Mathews walks in and sees Brock Lesnar sitting at his locker looking extremely focused. Mathews asks if he can sit down and he gets no response. Mathews takes initiative and goes to sit down next to Lesnar. He asks Brock what is on his mind and gets no response. He asks about his title defense this Sunday and gets no response. Mathews asks which guy would he like to face the most this Sunday. Brock lifts his head up and looks to Mathews with a huge smirk on his face. Brock begins a monster-like laugh and Mathews gets freaked out and leaves, as we go back to ringside.

10 Man Battle Royal (A-Train, Edge, Farooq, Jamie Noble, John Cena, Johnny Stamboli, Rey Mysterio, Rhyno, Rikishi, Ultimo Dragon)

In a little tune up for the Royal Rumble, all ten men stand in the ring for a 10 man over the top rope Battle Royal. All men square up each other until they all finally attack. They go after the big man Rikishi first, eliminating him. Alliances form with A-Train and Stamboli taking out the competition. They eliminate Jamie Noble and Farooq rather quickly. They turn on one another, with Stamboli eliminating A-Train. Mysterio and Ultimo Dragon go cruiserweight on everybody and move around the ring quickly. Ultimo Dragon goes to jump on Stamboli, but Stamboli catches him and throws Ultimo out of the ring.

Edge, Cena, Stamboli, Mysterio, and Rhyno are left. Stamboli turns around after eliminating Ultimo and spears the living hell out of him. Rhyno picks up Stamboli and goes to eliminate him. Edge comes out from behind and tries to eliminate both. Cena looks to help and they flip both men over. Stamboli lands on the apron, but Rhyno falls to his downfall. Rhyno is eliminated. Edge and Cena go after one another and Cena goes for the FU. Rhyno is frustrated on the outside and comes back in the ring after breaking free from the referees. Edge gets out of the FU and lands on his feet, but lands into a spear from Rhyno. Edge is knocked out and Rhyno leaves the ring satisfied. Cena picks up Edge and goes to get him out of the ring, but Mysterio hits a dropkick and goes for the 619 to both Cena and Edge, who are on their knees on the ropes. Mysterio goes for it and hits Edge, but Cena catches Mysterioís feet. Cena picks up Mysterio, but Stamboli hits Cena from behind. Cena falls forward and throws Mysterio out of the ring for the eliminated.

Cena, Edge, and Stamboli are left. Stamboli goes to eliminate Cena, but Cena is holding his own. Cena is trying to prevent the strong Stamboli to flip him over the ropes. Cena is about to flip, when Edge comes running and hits Stamboli from behind. Cena bends down and uses his strength to get Stamboli over the top rope and to the floor for elimination. Cena is up against the ropes and Edge is in front of him. Edge goes for the clothesline, but Cena ducks under it and Cena clotheslines Edge next and over to the top rope Edge goes. Cena is the last man standing.

Winner: John Cena

Michael Cole and Tazz prepare us for the Tag Team Championship match coming up. They say the Bashamís were not able to make the trip to the arena tonight due to the weather and their title shot will come next Thursday on Smackdown! However, Stephanie felt a title match must go on, so that is why the Bashamís have a replacement.

Quote:
Los Guerreros (Chavo & Eddie Guerrero) © vs Worldís Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin); WWE Tag Team Championship Match

Both teams make their way into the rings and Eddie Guerrero still looks unmotivated. The match begins with Haas and Chavo. Chavo gets the upperhand on Haas, but Eddie doesnít want any part of the match. Chavo is getting worn down, but finds another burst in the middle of the match. He gets a few near falls against Shelton and both men crawl to the corner to make a tag. The crowd chants for Eddie and Eddie gets motivated to do it. Eddie sticks his arm out and Chavo goes for the tag, but Eddie pulls his arm out at the last second and shrugs his shoulders. The crowd boos and Eddie walks off the apron and to the outside. Chavo is looking shocked and lost, as the new legal man Haas drags Chavo back to the middle of the ring and works him.

Eddie looks from the outside, as Chavo is being worked in the ring. Haas puts the helpless Chavo into the Haas of Pain and Chavo desperately tries to not tap. Eddie looks around and acts like he should help Chavo. Eddie slides in the ring and the crowd goes wild, but Eddie stands up and the referee stops him from moving. Eddie accepts what the referee says and leaves the ring again. Eddie goes over and grabs the WWE Tag Team Championship belt, while Chavo taps in the ring.

Winner: And NEW WWE Tag Team Champions; Worldís Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin)
Eddie slides in the ring with the title and threatens Haas with the belt. Haas wants nothing to do with Eddie and he leaves the ring. Eddie yells at Chavo to get up. Chavo slowly gets up and Eddie keeps yelling at him. Eddie tells Chavo that he has had enough of Chavo saying how great the Tag Titles are. Eddie says these things suck and they arenít what he wants. He yells that he knows what he wants and that doesnít mean some idiot who thinks some tag title is what I want. Chavo gets all the way up and Eddie nails him in the head with the title belt. Chavo goes down and Eddie throws the title to the outside in the direction of Haas and Benjamin. Eddie stands over Chavoís body, as Smackdown! goes to commercial with all the crowd booing.

Smackdown! comes back on air and Cole and Tazz are shocked over what just happened. Cole cannot believe that Eddie turned on the man that cared so much about him. Tazz says he never has seen Eddie act this way and it really is bothering him. He says it really shows you how much that loss to Brock Lesnar last month took out of him. Cole says that they need to change gears for the big hardcore main event coming up now!

Quote:
Hardcore Holly vs Kurt Angle vs Undertaker; Hardcore Triple Threat Match; Winner becomes Number One Contender for the WWE Championship

Undertaker and Kurt Angle stand in the ring waiting for Hardcore Holly to enter, but Holly immediately gets under the ring and throws in chairs, garbage cans, etc. Holly slides in the ring and the double team of Holly begins. Taker and Angle make Holly a no factor in the beginning of the match. Angle and Taker wrestle in the ring, but Holly recovers and comes in the ring with a kendo stick from under the ring and hits Taker in the back of the leg, sending him down. Holly goes after Angle with the kendo stick too and now Holly gets in control of the match.

Undertaker and Angle soon adjust to the style of the match. Angle and Taker have their own weapons. Taker goes for Holly with a chair, but Holly uses the kendo stick on the leg of Taker again. Taker goes down and Holly looks for the kill shot, but Angle hits Holly in the back with a chair. Angle goes to apply the ankle lock and he does. Taker gets up and Holly lasts in the hold and Taker clears the hold. The match continues going back and forth with Angle getting chokeslammed through a garbage can, absolutely destroying the garbage can. Taker goes for a pin, but Holly breaks it up. Taker chokeslams Hardcore Holly with Angle through the garbage can and Holly kicks out at two, much to the disbelief of Taker and the crowd.

Undertaker gets angry tries to put some offense on the Holly. Holly fights back, but Taker hits some massive punches to the gut of Holly. Taker goes for the Last Ride to end it, but Holly fights out and runs away for a second. Holly grabs a steel chair and clobbers Undertaker across the head with it. Undertaker falls to the mat unconscious and rolls out of the ring. Holly loses his chance to pin Taker and both men are down. Angle and Holly get up around the same time and start going at it slow, but start picking up the pace as they catch their breath. Holly gets some momentum and goes for the Alabama Slam, but cannot set it up and Angle reverses with an Angle Slam. Angle is pumped up and sees Taker trying to climb up on the apron. Angle knocks him down and goes for the Ankle Lock on Hardcore.

Angle goes for the Ankle Lock, but it is reverses and both men get up. Angle grabs a garbage can lid and Holly grabs the kendo stick. Holly swings a weak stick at Angle and Angle blocks it with the lid. Angle counters with punching the lid toward Holly and it hits Holly. Angle drops the lid and goes for the Ankle Lock again. Angle applies it and Holly is in pain and is going to tap. The crowd boos, as Brock Lesnar comes running down from the back and slides in the ring. Angle breaks the hold just as Holly is about to tap. Angle misses a clothesline on Lesnar and Lesnar hits an F5 onto Angle. Angle is out cold and Lesnar drags Hollyís body onto Angle. The referee counts and Holly gets the three count.

Winner: Hardcore Holly
Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and Hardcore Holly are all out, but the winner is Hardcore Holly. Lesnar leaves the ring and walks back and stops on the stage. Lesnar looks back at the ring with the same smile from earlier tonight. Holly regains his focus and looks up at Lesnar on the stage.
