WWE Proudly Presents The Royal Rumble
1/20/03 From Boston, Massachusetts

30 Man Royal Rumble Match
Winner Earns A Title Shot of Their Choice at Wrestlemania

Every year, 30 men enter the ring and 29 fall to the outside and watch one man earn the prize of a lifetime. This year is no different, as 30 men will again enter in the main event and earn a shot to headline Wrestlemania. For the past month, superstars have been talking about winning this match, but they know only one will win. The Rock, Undertaker, Randy Orton, Kurt Angle, and countless others will attempt to cement their spot as a legend and be the lone survivor. Will Evolution's attempt to team up in the Rumble and win it prevail? Will the winner move onto Wrestlemania and win the title they have longed to hold? The most anticipated match of the year holds all these answers and will provide many, many more.

Triple H (C) vs Shawn Michaels
World Heavyweight Championship Match

Triple H and Evolution have vowed to take over the WWE from the top down. They claim nobody will get in their way and stop their plan. The Chairman of the WWE, Vince McMahon, does not seem to be worried about Evolution's threats. Triple H's long time best friend and partner in crime, Shawn Michaels, does have a problem with this. The Heartbreak Kid confronted Triple H and just wants his best friend to stop what he is doing because it just isn't going to work. Triple H offered his friend a spot to join them in the takeover, but Shawn denied and paid the price. Shawn earned himself a match against Triple H with a win in a tag team match. Shawn has overcome a stubborn Chairman and an ex-best friend. He hopes to overcome the odds and become the World Heavyweight Champion. Triple H sees Shawn as a little dot on a bigger map, but, if Shawn pulls off a win here, Michaels could turn out to be much bigger than a little dot.

Brock Lesnar (c) vs Hardcore Holly
WWE Championship Hardcore Match

If you look up domination in the dictionary, you will find Brock Lesnar's WWE Championship reign. Lesnar has gone through everybody in his path, including the best Smackdown! has to offer. His manager, Paul Heyman, thought it would be appropriate to throw him a celebration party and Hardcore Holly crashed it. Holly said that Lesnar didn't go through everybody, but Lesnar made quick work of Holly. Smackdown! General Manager, Stephanie McMahon, made a four man tournament to determine who will face Lesnar at the Rumble. It came down to Undertaker and Kurt Angle, but Stephanie added Hardcore Holly into the match because of his nonstop willingness to face Lesnar at the Rumble. Lesnar interfered in the triple threat match and took everybody out. He dragged Holly onto his opponent and Holly earns the chance to face Lesnar. Will Lesnar regret helping Hardcore Holly on Smackdown! or will his path of destruction continue through The Royal Rumble?

Chavo Guerrero vs Eddie Guerrero
Singles Match

Things seemed so easy when Chavo and Eddie Guerrero won the WWE Tag Team Championship on Smackdown! against the Basham Brothers. However, Eddie was just coming off a feud with Brock Lesnar which left him in a bad place. Eddie was embarrassed by Lesnar and that left Eddie in a bad state of mind. Chavo was always there for Eddie and this time was no different. Chavo thought going after the Tag Titles was the best way to cure Eddie, who seemed unmotivated. Once winning the titles, nothing changed and Eddie was just a man who was ready to snap at a blink of the eye. The eye blinked during a tag title defense against the World's Greatest Tag Team and Eddie took out his frustration on Chavo. The two square up at the Royal Rumble with a lot to prove to one another.

Basham Brothers (Doug & Danny Basham) vs F.B.I. (Chuck Palumbo & Johnny Stamboli)
#1 Contenders Tag Team Match

The Basham Brothers lost their WWE Tag Team Titles to Los Guerreros (Chavo & Eddie Guerrero) on Smackdown! and since Los Guerreros have lost their titles and split up. The WWE Tag Team Title hunt on Smackdown! is wide open. The Basham's were not able to attend their rematch clause and Stephanie McMahon punished them by having to win a number one contenders match against a hungry team in Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Stamboli. The winner will face the World's Greatest Tag Team on the next Smackdown!

Molly Holly (c) vs Victoria
Women's Championship Match

Molly Holly has been a dominant Women's Champion and she looks to continue her run at the Rumble, as she takes on a formidable opponent in Victoria. Both of these divas are not fond of each other and expect the bad blood to pour over into their match at the Royal Rumble.

The former WWE Tag Team Champions, the Basham Brothers, are in the ring with part of the F.B.I., Johnny Stamboli and Chuck Palumbo. Both teams square off and the Basham’s are looking for revenge after their rematch clause has been taken away by the competition committee. Stamboli and Palumbo have a firm hold on the match, but the Basham’s use a cheap low blow when the referee isn’t looking and some dirty tactics to turn the momentum in the match. Palumbo and Doug Basham are in the ring, when Doug gets Palumbo in a rollup and pulls the tights for a three count before Stamboli could save his partner.

Winner: And NEW #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship; Basham Brothers (Doug & Danny Basham)

We go backstage, where Hardcore Holly is warming up for his match. King says his match is next and welcomes in Tazz from Smackdown! Tazz joins the announcing team and says that Hardcore Holly has always and still is one tough dude, but he doesn’t know if that is going to work against Brock Lesnar. JR says that the match has become one of Hardcore Holly’s favorites, a hardcore match. Tazz brings up if that is even an advantage because Lesnar is even more dangerous with anything he wants from under the ring.

A foot race ensues and Holly ends up catching the slow Heyman. Holly toys with Heyman, until Lesnar comes running from behind and knocks down Holly.

Lesnar throws Holly into the steel ring post and Lesnar picks him up and keeps throwing him around. They end up back at the announcers table, where Lesnar cleans it off. They end up on top of the announcers table. Holly is hurting and Lesnar looks to powerbomb him through it. Lesnar lifts him Holly, but Holly counters and lands on his feet. Holly counters with a DDT and the table collapses. Both men are out and the crowd is on their feet cheering. Holly eventually gets up and tries his best to drag Lesnar into the ring. He eventually somehow gets him up into the ring. Holly gets in and goes for the cover, but gets a two count.

Lesnar is still out cold in the middle of the ring. Holly looks at Lesnar and gets an idea. He puts a chair on Lesnar’s body and goes up to the top rope. Holly stands up on the top rope with two feet and looks around to the crowd, as if this is his defining moment in his career. Holly looks up and puts his arms over his head, looking like he is going for a splash onto the body of Lesnar. Heyman comes onto the apron and takes the leg out from under Holly and Holly crashes groin first into the turnbuckle. Holly is in pain and screaming, stuck sitting on the top turnbuckle. Lesnar begins to get up slowly and sees the chair on him. He picks it up and looks at the helpless Holly. Lesnar takes the chair and hits Holly square in the head with it. Holly falls back, but Lesnar drops the chair and picks him up into the F5 position, which he connects in the middle of the ring. Lesnar goes for the pin and gets a three.

Winner: And STILL WWE Champion; Brock Lesnar
Lesnar gets up and is hurting from the match, but still the champion. He is handed his title, which he hands off to Heyman. Lesnar grabs a steel chair and drops it on the body of the unconscious Holly. Holly is bleeding from his forehead and the referee calls for medics to come down and check on him. Lesnar and Holly go through a battle, but, as expected, Lesnar comes out on top. Lesnar and Heyman leave, as a promo for the road to Wrestlemania shows and the next pay per view, No Way Out.

He is with Evolution. He goes up to them and tells them not to come down to the ring if they think he needs some assistance. Flair asks him if that is the smart thing to do and Triple H promises him and says there is absolutely nothing to worry about tonight. Triple H leaves toward the ring, as the match is about to get going.

That was an awesome Royal Rumble match. I can't write a review now, because I just woke up. I might write one later though.

1/21/03 WWE Monday Night RAW

RAW starts off with a package of what happened in the Triple H-Shawn Michaels World Championship main event. It culminates with McMahon kicking Michaels below the belt and Triple H retaining his championship. We go ringside and Vince McMahon’s music hits. Vince makes his way to the ring with a loud boo. Vince walks around observing the crowd and says last night was just one big misunderstanding. He says he had to deal with people accusing him of being a part of Evolution’s rebellion. He says people are saying Vince knows he is going to lose and he joined Evolution to ensure a spot with the winners because the McMahon family does not lose. The crowd chants ‘sellout’ and Vince tells everybody to shut the hell up and listen to the real story. He says that nobody ever disrespects the chairman of the board and over the last few weeks there has been one man who has shown as much disrespect as Stone Cold Steve Austin once did. He says if you disrespect the boss, you won’t be successful and he says he ensured that Shawn Michaels won’t be successful last night, even if that means keeping Triple H’s takeover plot moving.

The crowd chants bullshit and Vince takes his jacket off and throws it to the mat. He asks the crowd if it was actually bullshit, why would he have counted the pin when the main referee was out. Vince deliriously laughs and says that it really doesn’t matter what the crowd thinks because they will still come and buy tickets to watch him run the best wrestling business in the world. Vince says he is an unstoppable machine and nobody’s opinion will affect how he runs this place. He says if he didn’t hit the finisher on Shawn Michaels, Shawn would have ended up winning the World Title. Vince says that is a huge if and everyone needs to realize every action has a consequence. The crowd continues to nag Vince and he tells them to shut the hell up again. Shawn Michaels music hits and the crowd goes wild for the Heartbreak Kid. Shawn doesn’t pose for the crowd and comes right into the ring.

The crowd chants ‘HBK’ and Shawn thanks everybody for all the support. Shawn starts off by thanking Vince for admitting that he was one Sweet Chin Music away from being the new World Heavyweight Champion and ending Triple H’s plan for a takeover. Shawn says that is all he will ever be thankful for with Vince again because a year from now, Evolution could be running the place and we will all look back at the 2003 Royal Rumble as the moment where Vince McMahon put the dagger in the heart of his own company when he had the chance to not stab it at all. Shawn says he thinks he said it before, but he is going to say it again. He says Vince McMahon is a conceded, has a huge ego, and is a huge piece of [BEEP]shit[/BEEP]. Vince interrupts, but Shawn shuts him up and says he isn’t done. Shawn says that Vince puts on a show out here in the ring, but he is insecure deep inside and knows he is in serious trouble with Evolution. Shawn says that the whole disrespect thing is a cover up and Shawn accuses Vince of being tied in with Evolution.

Vince’s eyes open up and tells Shawn how dare make these accusations. Shawn says the evidence is truly adding up and that if it is a war Vince wants, it is a war Vince will get. Shawn promises to get another shot at Triple H and he promises to fight for the WWE. He says he hopes to get his ex-best friend back when the WWE beats Evolution. Vince tells Shawn to relax and stop this war stuff because there isn’t any kind of war starting. Shawn begs to differ and says there are a lot of people in the back thinking differently. Vince promises nothing is going on and thinks Shawn is just trying to cause panic in the WWE. Shawn says the only panic in the back is caused by the idiotic chairman of the board the WWE has. Vince tells Shawn that he will regret saying that. Shawn doesn’t think so and tells Vince that he should just Sweet Chin Music Vince to the mat. He asks the crowd if they agree and he gets an overwhelming yes.

Shawn backs up and begins to pound the mat with his boot. The crowd wants him to pound Vince. Vince tells Shawn he better reconsider because if Shawn touches him tonight or any other night for that matter, he will be fired on the spot. Shawn smirks and says that he likes taking chances once in a while. Vince asks Shawn if being arrested would be a better option. Shawn continues to pound his boot against the mat. Vince gets out of the ring and Shawn laughs at Vince. Vince says that Shawn’s laughing will come to an end because he’s had enough of seeing Shawn’s face in the WWE. He says that tonight, he will face Kane and if he loses, he will come down to the ring and tell him right in Shawn’s face and tell him ‘you’re fiiired!’ Vince’s music hits and Vince walks out, as we go to commercial.

Triple H says he has already beaten the Rock before and he is coming off a tough title match last night at the Rumble, which he needs time to recover from. Bischoff tells Triple H to be a man and do his job. He says he is going to come out again later tonight and turn his boot sideways and stick it up Triple H’s candy ass. He says that whatever happened last night at the Rumble is now irrelevant. However, Rock asks the question of what could have happened if things went according to the rules. Rock says that Eddie Guerrero would not have won the Rumble if he got in the ring when his name was called. He says Shawn Michaels would have won the World Heavyweight Championship if there wasn’t an unfortunate turn of events by our chairman. He says Hardcore Holly was never going to beat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. And finally, Rock says if it wasn’t for the sneaky tactics of Evolution, he would have won the Royal Rumble and tonight’s match would be a Wrestlemania preview.

Rock says he is sick of Evolution, just like everybody else in this arena. He says everybody is worrying about something in this place now-a-days. He says HBK is going after our crippled chairman, Lesnar is trying to schedule a match with God to prove he is best, and, over on Smackdown!, Stephanie is looking for ways to get the people’s strudel. Rock laughs and he says that he needs to go after something and as the crowd would guess, he is going to go after the four headed monster in Evolution. Ric Flair’s music hits and the crowd boos, as the Nature Boy makes his way out onto the stage.

The crowd boos Flair and he tells the crowd to shut the hell up because the Nature Boy has something special to say, like always. Rock tells Flair that he would tell him to come to the ring and say it to his face, but Rock says Flair will blow out a hip before that would happen. Flair smiles and tells Rock to watch his mouth because the more he runs the ‘people’s mouth,’ the more of an ass kicking he is going to get tonight by Evolution. Rock says he is confused because he is going to walk out of RAW tonight as the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. Flair says he might walk out as the number one contender for disability.

Rock asks Flair if he is old enough for disability benefits yet and Flair continues to just smile on the stage. Flair says he came out here to ask the Rock politely to back out of tonight’s main event. Flair says that Triple H needs a night off after last night’s title match. Rock asks if this is a joke. Rock and Flair go face to face and Rock hits Flair with a big right hand, sending him to the ground. Orton and Batista run to Flair’s aid, but Rock rolls back in the ring. Rock is greeted with a running neckbreaker from Triple H. Triple H hits a knee to the Rock’s face and picks him up. Flair gets up on the outside and runs up on the apron in anger of the Rock’s actions. The referee pleads with Flair to get down, but he won’t. Triple H puts Rock into a Pedigree and connects! Flair continues to complain, while Rock is getting pinned. Flair realizes he needs to get off the apron and gets off. Referee goes for the pin, One…Two…KICK OUT! Triple H cannot believe it and gets up and yells at Flair. Flair grabs a chair and throws it into the ring.

1/24/03 WWE Thursday Night Smackdown!

Smackdown! opens up with a video package of Eddie Guerrero winning the Royal Rumble last Sunday. We go ringside with Michael Cole and Tazz introducing the show and saying that Eddie Guerrero is the Royal Rumble winner and he will get a shot at the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania. Eddie Guerrero’s music hits and the Rumble winner makes his way down the ramp into the ring. The crowd boos, as Eddie absorbs the boos. Eddie smiles and says that he is going to Wrestlemania. He says last night was the best night of his life. He got rid of Chavo and proved to everybody that the real Eddie Guerrero is back. Eddie starts to celebrate and pictures of him winning on Sunday come up on the titantron. Eddie says he beat everybody’s favorite people, such as Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and Chris Benoit. He says last night proved that he is better than all them and nobody is more deserving of a title match. Eddie says he has some people to thank. He pulls out a list and begins by thanking himself. He says he has finally put all the dead weight behind him and a new era has started. He says no one else is on his list, but would like to mention some people that he will gloat at when he becomes champion at Wrestlemania.

He mentions Chavo Guerrero. He says Chavo has no direction now that we aren’t together. He says that Chavo is nothing but a follower and now that he put him in his place, Chavo’s spot in this company is expendable. Eddie says that if Chavo hits the unemployment line, he isn’t planning to help out the familia because Chavo wouldn’t have done it for him. Eddie says that the next person is the WWE universe. Eddie says he used to suck up to the crowd because it was awesome hearing crowds explode when your music hit, but a loud pop doesn’t turn into titles. Eddie keeps going in on the crowd and they excessively boo him. Eddie yells at the crowd in Spanish and the boos get louder. Chris Benoit’s music hits and the crowd pops for Benoit. Guerrero yells at Benoit in the ring, as Benoit comes out to the ring. Cole mentions that Benoit was the person who dragged Guerrero out of the locker room, as Guerrero didn’t actually get in the ring when he was called in during the Rumble.

Benoit goes face to face with Guerrero. Benoit says that Guerrero needs to shut his mouth and realize that he is a crap Rumble winner. Guerrero says that if he’s crap, what is Benoit? Benoit tells him to shut the hell up and he asks Guerrero if he thinks he is clever. He says that it is stupid that Guerrero tries to hide in the locker room and not get in the match when he is supposed to. He tells Guerrero that he isn’t as good as he thinks and if he came in the Rumble when he was supposed to, he would have lost and that is a fact. Guerrero laughs and asks Benoit if he is done. Benoit says he will close on the fact that Guerrero is a disgrace of a Rumble winner. Guerrero puts his head down and puts on a smirk, then asks Benoit what he is going to be doing Wrestlemania Sunday. Benoit says nothing and Guerrero tells him that while he is going for the WWE Champion on the grandest stage of them all, Benoit will be going for the United States Championship, if he is lucky.

Guerrero continues to say that if Benoit stopped trying to be the superstar that wins matches because he works the hardest, he would have maybe won the Rumble. He continues by saying that he realizes a few weeks ago that you don’t win by giving it your all, you win when you do absolutely anything to achieve your goal. Guerrero says that if Benoit would learn that, success will follow. Benoit says he will never go as low as Guerrero has and that the philosophy of the hardest worker being the best still applies because there is no other person who works harder and is as successful here then Kurt Angle. Guerrero asks why Angle didn’t win the Rumble then. Benoit says he should have won. Guerrero says that Benoit has been throwing out a lot of maybe’s and should have’s tonight and Guerrero is going to throw out one more and says that maybe Benoit should get the hell out of the ring. Benoit drops the microphone and turns around. He stops at the ropes and turns around and charges at Guerrero. Guerrero avoids the tackle and slides out of the ring. Guerrero starts going to the back and they two stare each other down, with Benoit giving Guerrero the throat slashing taunt and Smackdown! goes to commercial.

Tajiri gets tagged in a few times with Mysterio in the ring. Tajiri would step in and tag back in Ultimo Dragon. Chavo and Ultimo get knocked down and go to simultaneously tag in their partner. He says he still can, but he has to keep climbing up the steep hill. Josh asks Angle what is next on the horizon. Angle mentions that Stephanie has given him the night off, but the next thing on the agenda is to go after the coward that is Eddie Guerrero. Angle says it made him sick that Eddie hides out in the back for the Rumble, while Angle is in the ring fighting his ass off. Angle promises that Eddie Guerrero’s time will come, and it will be very soon. Angle walks off and we go ringside.

Lesnar is sitting down on a chair, breathing heavily and looking angry. A man comes up to Lesnar and asks who he is going to beat down next. Lesnar slowly looks up to the man. The man is frightened when making eye contact. Lesnar gives an evil smile and says it doesn’t matter. Heyman comes up to the man and tells him to stay away from the champion. The party is to appreciate the accomplishments of Brock, not to have a tea party to discuss things with him. The man walks off and Heyman asks Lesnar if he thinks it is time to move the party elsewhere. Lesnar gets up and walks away without saying anything and we go ringside.

Cole and Tazz recap how tonight’s main event was created.

Quote:
Chris Benoit vs Eddie Guerrero; Singles Match

Chris Benoit makes his way out, followed by Eddie Guerrero. Guerrero is booed coming out to the ring. The bell rings and Guerrero sneaks out of the ring. Benoit immediately comes out and follows him. Guerrero tricks Benoit that he is going into the ring and clotheslines Benoit on the outside. The crowd boos Guerrero, who drags Benoit into the ring. Guerrero gets the best of Benoit in the beginning, but Benoit begins to counter with the crowd slowly getting behind him. Benoit dodges a clothesline and hits three belly to back suplex’s and gets a close pin. He puts Guerrero in the Crossface, but Guerrero counters and rolls out the ring. Guerrero chills on the outside and Benoit leaps through the ropes and knocks down Guerrero on the outside.

The men get back into the ring at an eight count. They go back and forth and Guerrero gets Benoit down. Guerrero goes onto the top rope and taunts the crowd. He goes for the Frog Splash, but Benoit moves away. Benoit counters quickly into the Crossface. The crowd is going nuts and Guerrero is looking quickly for the ropes. Guerrero claws for the ropes and gets them. Benoit does not break the hold and gives the referee a little shove. The referee backs away and turns his back. Benoit breaks the hold, but immediately gets a poke to the eyes. Guerrero sneaks up and goes for the roll up. Guerrero grabs the tights and gets the three count!

Winner: Eddie Guerrero
Guerrero rolls out of the ring, while Benoit gets up and complains to the referee. Guerrero celebrates on the outside and suddenly Kurt Angle comes running down the ramp. Guerrero gets worried and jumps over the barricade. He runs away from Angle through the crowd. Angle stares down Guerrero, as we see Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman headed to the ring.

__________________________________________

Smackdown! comes back on air with Tazz and Cole explaining that Heyman is throwing a party for Lesnar’s win at the Royal Rumble. They talk about how they feel the party needed to move into what looks like the ring. The ring has a red carpet, balloons, etc. Lesnar’s music hits and he makes his way out with Heyman. Lesnar holds the WWE Championship over his shoulder. Heyman grabs a microphone and says that tonight is a night to celebrate the greatness you people get to see every night. He says Brock Lesnar has beaten every candidate for the WWE Championship. He says he understands Eddie Guerrero is going to face Lesnar at Wrestlemania, but frankly he feels sorry for Eddie because Lesnar has already beaten him into a sad, sad man before. He asks the crowd if they truly understand and appreciate the greatness of Lesnar. They boo and Heyman tells them that Lesnar is better than Stone Cold, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Bruno Sammartino, etc. He says the list would take all night to read, but the most important part is Brock is on top. Suddenly, Undertaker’s music hits and he comes out to a huge pop.

Undertaker stands on the stage and slowly walks down as he speaks. He says he has heard enough. He says he loves his company, but he cannot sit back anymore and hear Heyman speak out of his ass anymore. He cannot sit back and watch Vince McMahon begin to tear apart the company on RAW. He says it is time for him to come out here and create change. Heyman tries to speak, but he tells Paul to shut his mouth because he is talking to Lesnar. Undertaker tells Lesnar that he might have broken Eddie Guerrero once before and might have beaten a man that was a little to in over his head, Hardcore Holly, but none of those men are the Undertaker. Lesnar grabs the microphone from Heyman and says that he already beat Taker once. Undertaker admits that is true, but yet he still stands in front of this crowd and the WWE Champion waiting to show that Lesnar is not ‘the man.’ Heyman grabs another microphone and says that Taker has no right to face Lesnar because he is not the number one contender. Undertaker grabs Heyman’s microphone and throws it outside the ring. Taker tells Heyman that if he speaks one more time he will ruin the party and embarrass you and WWE Champion right now.

Heyman quiets down and Undertaker looks at Lesnar. He says he is not here to ruin the Wrestlemania main event, but he wants one more shot at Lesnar. Taker says he is going to change things here and it starts with you. Heyman pleads with Lesnar, but Lesnar says he is listening. Taker says that if Lesnar beats him, he will never show up on Smackdown! again and therefore Lesnar can add it on to his resume that he kicked the Undertaker off Smackdown! forever. However, if Taker wins, he will be the new WWE Champion and Brock will not be given a rematch. Heyman continues to plead with Lesnar not to do this. Lesnar smiles and says he agrees. Taker goes for the handshake. Lesnar shakes the Undertaker’s hand. Lesnar sneaks in a left hand and Taker stumbles. Lesnar goes for a clothesline, but Taker ducks and kicks Lesnar in the gut. Taker sets up the Last Ride and connects to Lesnar! The crowd goes wild, as Undertaker poses over Lesnar in the ring and Smackdown! fades to black.

1/28/03 WWE Monday Night RAW

RAW opens up with no pyro and Vince McMahon in the ring. The crowd immediately starts booing Vince. Vince tells everybody to please be quiet and let RAW start. The crowd continues to boo and Vince tells the crowd to shut the hell up. He says he has important business on hand. He says he has heard rumors all week about him being a part of Evolution and wanting to dispose to Shawn Michaels, who apparently knows all about what is going on. The crowd chants ‘HBK’ and Vince pauses. He continues by asking Evolution to come out and clear this up once and for all. Evolution comes out and Triple H, Batista, Ric Flair, and Randy Orton come out to the ring. Triple H immediately gets in Vince’s face and Vince tells him to be careful right now. Triple H says he makes the rules in this ring and wants to know why he has to be out here right now.

Vince tells Triple H to calm down. He says he only wants one member of Evolution here. Triple H says it is all or nothing. Vince asks Triple H if he enjoys the World Title because if people don’t start leaving the ring, the title won’t be on his waist much longer. Triple H is getting angry and turns around to tell the rest of Evolution to leave. They leave the ring and walk up to the stage. Vince says that now they can have a beneficial conversation. Triple H interrupts and asks Vince if he is scared of Evolution. Vince laughs and says that Evolution is not a threat, nor will they ever be. Triple H smirks and Vince says he wants to take care of business now. He asks Triple H if Vincent Kennedy McMahon, the chairman of the WWE, is a conspiring with Evolution in any sense to take over the WWE. Triple H says that wouldn’t make much sense if Vince was. Vince blurts in saying that Triple H has answered everybody’s question and now since that is cleared up, business is done here. Vince goes through the ropes and starts walking toward the ramp. Triple H looks at him and mentions that it actually might make some sense when thinking about it.

Vince turns around and looks eye-to-eye with Triple H. Triple H brings up that Vince never likes to lose. He says Vince knows that Evolution is a growing, serious threat and if he conspires with the unbeatable enemy, he is guaranteed not to lose. He says Vince likes to make deals with the devil and history can confirm that. Triple H says you could consider Evolution to be the devil. The crowd boos and Triple H tells them to shut their mouths while he is talking. He says Vince will do anything keep his blood flowin’. He will do anything to make money, sell tickets, and keep everybody on the edge of their seats. Even if it is somebody taking over what his family built. Triple H looks down and says that it really might all pan out that Vince McMahon is working with Evolution. Vince begins walking toward the ring and tells Triple H to shut the hell up. Vince says he will never disgrace what his father built. Triple H says that he is just looking for the company to get put in better hands, to improve the foundations.

Vince says nothing is wrong with the foundations and tells Triple H to get the hell out of his ring. Triple H stands tall with the World Title over his shoulder. The crowd is chanting ‘sellout’ again and Vince asks the crowd what the hell he has to do to prove he isn’t apart of Evolution. The crowd continues to boo and Triple H continues to stay mute. Vince says all he has been getting is disrespect and if he isn’t going to be respected, then nobody is. Vince takes his jacket off and throws it down onto the mat. He says that runt Shawn Michaels is going to go up against Chris Jericho tonight in another match Michaels needs to win to keep his job. The crowd chants ‘Bullshit’, but Vince looks up at Triple H and tells him that he isn’t over. The crowd cheers and Vince says tonight all the disrespect Triple H dishes out will be served right back at him. He says tonight Triple H will go one-on-one with The Rock. Vince smirks and says that it will be for the World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H instantly gets furious and grabs Vince by the collar and asks him what the hell is he doing. Vince gives Triple H three seconds to take his dirty hands off him. Triple H holds Vince past the three count and Vince breaks Triple H’s grip. He tells Triple H he has no other choice. He says that regardless of the result of the match later on tonight, Shawn Michaels will be special guest referee of tonight’s main event. The crowd pops and Vince leaves the ring. Triple H is furious and yells at Vince. Mr. McMahon’s music goes off and RAW goes to commercial.

The crowd cheers, as Stacy makes her way into the ring. He says he is a lucky man to be the referee.

RAW comes back on air with the World Heavyweight Champion walking backstage. He walks into Eric Bischoff’s office, where Bischoff is on the phone. Bischoff instantly hangs up and asks Triple H if this office visit deal is going to be a weekly thing. Triple H says it might be if he keeps getting put in these ridiculous matches like the one tonight. Bischoff says he thinks the match is great and regardless, that was Mr. McMahon’s call, not his. Triple H says this whole situation is crap and if he loses the title tonight, it will mean hell for the rest of the roster. Bischoff tells Triple H to claim down and stop making empty threats and to leave his office. Triple H promises that Bischoff will be his first victim and walks away, as we go to ringside.

Flair is trying to put in the hold, but D’Von fights out of it. Flair stumbles and knocks down the referee. Rene Dupree comes running down from the back with a steel chair. He runs in the ring and waits until D’Von gets up. D’Von gets nailed with the chair and Dupree leaves. Flair looks around with shock and then a big smile. JR and King discuss the tension between Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels since the beginning of the year. JR says Vince would love to come out here and tell Michaels that he is fired. He says that tonight will definitely be Shawn’s biggest challenge, as Chris Jericho could be a future Hall of Famer.

Quote:
Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels; If Shawn Michaels loses, he is fired.

The two match up with a fast pace. Jericho is thrown to the outside and Michaels hits a suicide dive onto the outside. Jericho moves out the way and Jericho leaves the helpless Michaels on the outside. Michaels gets back in the ring at the referee’s nine count. Michaels goes up to the top rope and hits an elbow to the chest of Jericho. Michaels goes for the cover and gets a two count. Michaels begins to load up for the Sweet Chin. Jericho rolls out the ring and goes to grab a steel chair. He brings the chair into the ring and the referee gets in his face. The referee tries to take the chair, but Jericho doesn’t let him. 1/31/03 WWE Thursday Night Smackdown!

The pyros blast and Smackdown! is underway. The camera pans around the crowd and suddenly Brock Lesnar’s music hits. The crowd boos the WWE Champion, as he and Paul Heyman make their way out. They get in the ring and Heyman grabs a microphone. The crowd boos and Heyman says he isn’t going to start until the crowd shows a little more respect. The crowd keeps booing and Heyman calls the disrespect the crowd is giving to Lesnar equivalent to the disrespect the Undertaker gave Lesnar last Thursday. The crowd cheers for Undertaker as Heyman rants about how Undertaker is displeased about things in this company and decides to take them out on the most intimidating man in the WWE. Heyman laughs and says that Taker is an idiot. He says that at No Way Out, Undertaker will be put out of his misery and then he won’t have to worry about anything except repairing his torn apart body. Brock Lesnar whispers in Heyman’s ear and Heyman begins to smile. Heyman says that Lesnar wants Undertaker to come out now so he can end Taker here, not No Way Out.

They wait for the Undertaker, but Eddie Guerreros music hits. The crowd boos and Eddie makes his way down the ramp. He tells Lesnar that he isn’t afraid of him. Heyman laughs and tells him not to lie on national television because we all know he is scared after what Lesnar did to him last year. Eddie say to stop living in the past and start living in the future. He wonders if he is even going to face Lesnar at Wrestlemania because he thinks Undertaker is going to win at No Way Out. Eddie steps into the ring and gets face to face with Lesnar. Eddie says he is going to kick Lesnar’s ass like Undertaker did last week. Lesnar pushes Eddie and Eddie flails into the corner. Eddie laughs and asks if he is getting under his skin. Eddie says he is has a story about how hard it was for him, as a Mexican wrestler, to get to where he is in the WWE. Suddenly, the Undertaker’s music hits and the crowd goes nuts.

Undertaker comes out and rushes to the ring. He gets in the ring and Eddie tries to say that he was about to tell a story. Undertaker immediately tells him to shut his mouth and looks Lesnar right in the eye. He tells Lesnar that he made a big risk last Thursday making a do or die type match. Taker says he knows he is going to beat Lesnar and go to Wrestlemania to defend the WWE Championship. He is going to clean up the WWE starting with the scum in front of him. The two square up face to face, but Eddie Guerrero attacks Undertaker from behind. Lesnar and Heyman leave the ring, as Eddie attacks the Undertaker from behind. Angle comes running out from the back to a pop from the crowd. Eddie sees Angle and leaves the ring. Eddie scurries up the stage, as Angle helps out Undertaker and we go to commercial.
