1/21/03 WWE Monday Night RAW
RAW starts off with a package of what happened in the Triple H-Shawn Michaels World Championship main event. It culminates with McMahon kicking Michaels below the belt and Triple H retaining his championship. We go ringside and Vince McMahon’s music hits. Vince makes his way to the ring with a loud boo. Vince walks around observing the crowd and says last night was just one big misunderstanding. He says he had to deal with people accusing him of being a part of Evolution’s rebellion. He says people are saying Vince knows he is going to lose and he joined Evolution to ensure a spot with the winners because the McMahon family does not lose. The crowd chants ‘sellout’ and Vince tells everybody to shut the hell up and listen to the real story. He says that nobody ever disrespects the chairman of the board and over the last few weeks there has been one man who has shown as much disrespect as Stone Cold Steve Austin once did. He says if you disrespect the boss, you won’t be successful and he says he ensured that Shawn Michaels won’t be successful last night, even if that means keeping Triple H’s takeover plot moving.
The crowd chants bullshit and Vince takes his jacket off and throws it to the mat. He asks the crowd if it was actually bullshit, why would he have counted the pin when the main referee was out. Vince deliriously laughs and says that it really doesn’t matter what the crowd thinks because they will still come and buy tickets to watch him run the best wrestling business in the world. Vince says he is an unstoppable machine and nobody’s opinion will affect how he runs this place. He says if he didn’t hit the finisher on Shawn Michaels, Shawn would have ended up winning the World Title. Vince says that is a huge if and everyone needs to realize every action has a consequence. The crowd continues to nag Vince and he tells them to shut the hell up again. Shawn Michaels music hits and the crowd goes wild for the Heartbreak Kid. Shawn doesn’t pose for the crowd and comes right into the ring.
The crowd chants ‘HBK’ and Shawn thanks everybody for all the support. Shawn starts off by thanking Vince for admitting that he was one Sweet Chin Music away from being the new World Heavyweight Champion and ending Triple H’s plan for a takeover. Shawn says that is all he will ever be thankful for with Vince again because a year from now, Evolution could be running the place and we will all look back at the 2003 Royal Rumble as the moment where Vince McMahon put the dagger in the heart of his own company when he had the chance to not stab it at all. Shawn says he thinks he said it before, but he is going to say it again. He says Vince McMahon is a conceded, has a huge ego, and is a huge piece of [BEEP]shit[/BEEP]. Vince interrupts, but Shawn shuts him up and says he isn’t done. Shawn says that Vince puts on a show out here in the ring, but he is insecure deep inside and knows he is in serious trouble with Evolution. Shawn says that the whole disrespect thing is a cover up and Shawn accuses Vince of being tied in with Evolution.
Vince’s eyes open up and tells Shawn how dare make these accusations. Shawn says the evidence is truly adding up and that if it is a war Vince wants, it is a war Vince will get. Shawn promises to get another shot at Triple H and he promises to fight for the WWE. He says he hopes to get his ex-best friend back when the WWE beats Evolution. Vince tells Shawn to relax and stop this war stuff because there isn’t any kind of war starting. Shawn begs to differ and says there are a lot of people in the back thinking differently. Vince promises nothing is going on and thinks Shawn is just trying to cause panic in the WWE. Shawn says the only panic in the back is caused by the idiotic chairman of the board the WWE has. Vince tells Shawn that he will regret saying that. Shawn doesn’t think so and tells Vince that he should just Sweet Chin Music Vince to the mat. He asks the crowd if they agree and he gets an overwhelming yes.
Shawn backs up and begins to pound the mat with his boot. The crowd wants him to pound Vince. Vince tells Shawn he better reconsider because if Shawn touches him tonight or any other night for that matter, he will be fired on the spot. Shawn smirks and says that he likes taking chances once in a while. Vince asks Shawn if being arrested would be a better option. Shawn continues to pound his boot against the mat. Vince gets out of the ring and Shawn laughs at Vince. Vince says that Shawn’s laughing will come to an end because he’s had enough of seeing Shawn’s face in the WWE. He says that tonight, he will face Kane and if he loses, he will come down to the ring and tell him right in Shawn’s face and tell him ‘you’re fiiired!’ Vince’s music hits and Vince walks out, as we go to commercial.
