I will be reviewing your SmackDown 12-28-2012 and from the looks of it, many more down the road.

I really liked how everything is put together, short results for the matches and all. Really like that.

The intro with CM Punk and Heyman was a great way to start any show. It will be interesting to see how you book Punk & Rock at the Royal Rumble.

The night's matchups were good SD! caliber matchups. You were probably missing a tag team match in there, for my liking, but, other than that really, everything was good. What made things that just better was the Tables Match with Sheamus & Barrett. I thaught it was going to go on in last but, since you had some of your emphasis on Randy Orton, I could understand the show ending with that and with three-way altercation.

Other than that, I think that for the SD show, you've got your team of Matthews/JBL/Striker down to a tee, and, your show fell through nicely from beginning to end.

Bravo!

MATCH OF THE NIGHT = Daniel Bryan Vs Christian
SEGMENT OF THE NIGHT = Punk/Heyman Intro
WORST OF THE NIGHT = Zack Ryder Vs Drew McIntyre (It's only in there because I felt it took the place of a tag team bout, especially with McIntyre involved with 3MB)

OVERALL = A little mispelled words and missing letters was not a big issue but it could be better. Your storylines are still pretty true to reality, so everything is comprehensible enough to appreciate and follow without having started from the very beginning. (9/10)
Thanks for the review and constructive feedback, I hope you stick around!

Monday Night Raw - 31st December 2012

Raw opens with a video package emphasising that tonight's episode is the Slammy Awards. The video package highlights the three main awards of the night:
  • Superstar Of The Year
  • Match Of The Year
  • Comeback Of The Year

Live in the arena, a pyro display fires and the crowd cheer as JR and Michael Cole welcome viewers to the show.

Cole: "We are live on New Year's Eve, Monday Night Raw presents the 2012 Slammy Awards! Michael Cole and Jim Ross here in front of a sold out crowd, Jim we've got an action-packed show tonight."

JR: "That's right Michael, welcome ladies and gentlemen. Not only do we have 6 Slammy Awards to present, four huge matches announced for tonight. We have the finals of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament, Daniel Bryan going one-on-one with Randy Orton with the winner advancing to the Royal Rumble to face Big Show. There's a Champion vs Champion match, US Champ Zack Ryder challenges WWE Champion CM Punk..."

Cole: "... We've also got a rematch from TLC; after Sheamus defeated Wade Barrett in a Tables match on SmackDown, Barrett has challenged Sheamus to a Chairs match tonight. And after a heated episode of MizTV, Intercontinental Champion The Miz has offered The Honky Tonk Man a shot at his title."

JR: "We'll also But we're going to kick things off with our first award of the night..."

SmackDown General Manager Booker T's music hits to big cheers from the crowd and he makes his way to the presentation area at the top of the stage.

Booker: "I'm here tonight to present an award inspired by one of my own catchphrases... The 'Tell Me I Did Not Just See That' award for the most shocking moment of the year. There's been a lot of crazy things going down in 2012, here are the nominees."

A video package shows the nominations for the award:
  • Kofi Kingston performs a handstand to avoid Elimination from the 2012 Royal Rumble match
  • Sheamus defeats Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds to win the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 28
  • Daniel Bryan impersonates Charlie Sheen on Raw 1000
  • John Laurinitis defeats John Cena at Over The Limit.

Booker: "And the winner... Sheamus defeats Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds!"

Sheamus's music hits and he walks out on stage to accept the award, but before he gets to the podium Wade Barrett runs out from behind the curtain and smashes Sheamus across the back with a chair. Barrett delivers 2 or 3 shots to a grounded Sheamus before Booker pulls Barrett away.

Cole: "Disgraceful attack by Barrett, he's clearly upset at two straight losses to Sheamus but this just isn't right!"

JR: "Well we know these two will meet in a Chairs match later in the night, Barrett using any means neccessary to get the upper-hand."

Booker and security take Barrett back through the curtain while Sheamus is checked on by the doctor.

Backstage, Josh Matthews is standing by for an interview.

Matthews: "Please welcome my guest at this time, former United States Champion Antonio Cesaro."

Cesaro steps into the shot, holding the European Championship over his shoulder.

Cesaro: "You will address me correctly. I am Antonio Cesaro, I am the WWE European Champion."

Matthews: "With respect Mr Cesaro, the European Championship has been defunct for a number of years. The title isn't recognised anymore."

Cesaro: "What did you say to me? My championship is not recognised? Well perhaps I should make people recognise me?"

The interview is interrupted by a cobra sock puppet appearing over the shoulder of Cesaro. The camera pans back to reveal Santino, accompanied by his new ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez.

Cesaro: "Can I help you?"

Santino: "I like your toy belt, where can I get one?"

Cesaro: "It's not a toy you idiot, it is the European Championship."

Santino: "I'm from Europe. Can I play with it?"

Cesaro is clearly frustrated, he smashes Santino with the belt and walks away. Raw goes to commercials.

Raw returns with Epico and Primo in the ring for the first match of the night. Rey Mysterio's music then hits to bring out Mysterio and Sin Cara holding their Tag Team Champion belts. The announcers stress that a win for Epico & Primo would put them in the Tag Title picture.

In a short match, Mysterio and Sin Cara dominate before Rey finishes off Primo with the 619.

Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara def. Epico & Primo

JR: "A convincing win for Mysterio and Sin Cara. With Rhodes Scholars disbanding, the tag title picture is wide open for any team who can get some momentum going. Doesn't look like it'll be Epico and Primo though."

Backstage, Josh Matthews is standing by for an interview with the World Heavyweight Champion the Big Show.

Matthews: "Big Show, tonight Randy Orton faces Daniel Bryan and the winner of that match will challenge you at the Royal Rumble for your World Heavyweight Championship. Your thoughts?"

Show: "Your friend Matt Striker asked me the exact same question not long ago. When Booker T announced an 8-man tournament to determine who will face me at the Rumble, I told Matt they were simply competing for the right to get knocked out. That hasn't changed. I have proven on multiple occasions that I am better than both Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan."

Matthews: "Last Friday on SmackDown Orton and Bryan teamed up to deliver a suplex to yourself. Does that make this match more personal for you?"

Show: "I'm a giant, it's always going to take several men to get the better of me. They caught me off guard on Friday night, if they want to play best friends and come at me again then I'll knock them both out. Nobody is taking this championship from me, nobody has what it takes to pin me or make me submit. I've shown it every night I've held this title, and I'll show it again at the Royal Rumble."

Back live, Justin Roberts introduces Diamond Dallas Page to a big cheer from the crowd. Page appears wearing a DDP Yoga t-shirt and walks over to the presentation area.

DDP: "Thanks everybody, it's great to be back. I'm here tonight to present the award for LOL Moment Of The Year, and award given to the superstar who has had the funniest moment of 2012. Some may see that as a negative, but let me promise you... it's not a bad thing, it's a good thing! The nominees are..."

A video package highlights the candidates:
  • Vickie Guerrero & Brodus Clay have a dance-off
  • Kane & Daniel Bryan are sent to anger management
  • John Laurinitis stumbles over his lines
  • The Rock insults John Cena in Boston

DDP: "And the winner... Daniel Bryan and Kane go to anger management!"

Kane's pyro shoots, drawing boos from the crowd. Kane and AJ appear, AJ skips toward Page and takes the Slammy award.

AJ: "My monster does not take kindly to this award. The is nothing funny about my monster, he is a man to be feared. Do you understand?"

Page laughs at AJ before Kane steps forward. He stares down Page before grabbing the Slammy Award and throwing it to the ground. AJ and Kane leave to more boos and Raw goes to commercials.

Raw returns with a video package urging fans to vote for their superstar of the year. The 5 nominees are:
  • The Rock
  • John Cena
  • CM Punk
  • Ryback
  • Sheamus

Back live, Justin Roberts declares that the following contest is the finals of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament. Daniel Bryan is out first to the usual mix of cheers and YES chants. The announcers speak as Bryan makes his way to the ring.

JR: "Daniel Bryan has a second chance here. He came so close to defeating Big Show at TLC and has proven on several occasions he has the submission skills to make the Giant tap, but as many have found out all it takes is one WMD from Show."

Cole: "That's right Jim, and if Bryan can knock off Randy Orton here tonight he will get that second chance at Show at the Royal Rumble."

Randy Orton's music then hits to the biggest cheer of the night so far. The Viper has a serious look on his face and the announcers discuss Orton as he makes his entrance.

JR: "Orton has been on the losing end of matches to Bryan in the past Michael, but what we have here is a rejuvenated and dangerous Viper."

Cole: "Orton coming off the back of a heated rivalry with Alberto Del Rio, a rivalry that left Del Rio out of action for a number of months. Orton is back to his best and is looking to earn a shot at becoming a ten-time World champion."

JR: "And you've gotta give credit to SmackDown GM Booker T for putting this brilliant tournament together."

As the bell rings to begin the match, Big Show's music then hits to boos from the crowd. Show slowly makes his way to the ring.

JR: "And after Friday night's events, the World Champion is angry with both of these men. You gotta wonder if he's out here to scout his opposition, or to extract some form of revenge."

Show stands ringside to watch the match. At the 9 minute mark, Orton is bumped to the outside of the ring. Bryan attempts a suicide dive, but Orton avoids contact and Bryan collides with Show. This infuriates Show, who clotheslines both Orton and Bryan to cause a double-DQ.

Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan ends in a double-disqualification

JR: "You've got to be kidding me, Show has ruined a brilliant match and a brilliant tournament."

Cole: "Show would argue he was provoked, but what on earth happens now?"

Show tears apart the announce table and Orton and Bryan remain grounded outside the ring. Show then grabs Orton and Bryan by the throat and delivers a double-Chokeslam, sending both men through the table. The crowd boo, Show angrily makes his way back up the ramp and Raw goes to commercials.

Raw returns with an advert for the return of The Rock. Back live, JBL is at the presentation area.

JBL: "It is my honor to be back here in WWE, getting the best seat in the house for some amazing matches. I'm here now to present the award for Match Of The Year. So, let's take a look at the candidates."

Highlights from the following matches are shown as the nominees:
  • Hell In A Cell Match: Triple H vs Undertaker @ WrestleMania 28
  • Extreme Rules Match: John Cena vs Brock Lesnar @ Extreme Rules
  • No Disqualifications Match: CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan @ Money In The Bank
  • Chris Jericho vs Dolph Ziggler @ SummerSlam
  • TLC Match: CM Punk vs John Cena @ TLC

JBL: "And the winner... Undertaker vs Triple H!"

Triple H's music hits to a massive cheer from the crowd. The Game appears with a buzz-cut haircut and dressed in a suit. He soaks up the applause before making a speech.

HHH: "When we step out there at WrestleMania, we are at our very best. We pull out every trick in the book, we dig deep to the bottom of our hearts to give our all on the grandest stage of them all. I have massive respect for the Undertaker, he took everything I could throw at him at WrestleMania 27 and 28, yet both times he came out with his undefeated streak in tact. Many people have speculated that Undertaker is done, that this award is been presented for Undertaker's last match. 20-0 is a nice round number, but I don't know... I don't think you've seen the last of the Undertaker."

Hunter's music plays again and the crowd cheer as the camera returns to the announcers, who are sat by a broken announce table.

JR: "Chief Operating Officer of the WWE Triple H makes his return here at the Slammy Awards with a bold prediction, Michael have we seen the last of the Undertaker?"

Cole: "Only time will tell. It's been an exciting night so far but we still have some great action to come here on Monday Night Raw, don't forget the Champion vs Champion match of CM Punk vs Zack Ryder and The Miz defending his Intercontinental Championship against the Honky Tonk Man."

JR: "We've still to present the award for Superstar Of The Year, Team Of The Year and Comeback Of The Year. Plus we will hear from the man himself John Cena as he rehabs the injuries he sustained at the hands of Brock Lesnar and CM Punk."

Cole: "But right now ladies and gentlemen we have a rematch from TLC, you can see the ringside area now strewn with steel chairs, Wade Barrett faces Sheamus in a Chairs match."

Barrett's music then plays to boos. A split-screen replays Barrett attacking Sheamus with a chair earlier in the night as Barrett makes his way to the ring.

JR: "You can't deny that Wade Barrett has a great career ahead of him here in WWE, but if this is how he's going to react to every loss he's going to be in trouble."

Cole: "You're of course referring to Barrett losing the original Chairs match at TLC and a Tables match against Sheamus last Friday on SmackDown."

Sheamus's music then hits, the Celtic Warrior appears with bandaged ribs to sell the attack earlier in the night.

JR: "Sheamus looks angry, will he makes it 3-0 against Wade Barrett?"

Sheamus storms the ring and the match is underway. Sheamus dominates the early going before Barrett delivers a series of viscous chair shots to the injured ribs of Sheamus. Barrett delivers Wasteland onto an unfolded chair for the clean win in 11 minutes.

Wade Barrett def. Sheamus

The win isn't enough for Barrett, who rolls out of the ring and slides a table from under the ring. He sets the table up and delivers a second Wasteland to Sheamus, sending him through the table.

JR: "Barrett sending a message, these two have used chairs and tables to beat each other, Barrett is not going to let this go until he is seen as the better man."

Barrett's music plays to boos as Raw goes to commercials.

Raw returns with a vignette. In a darkened gym, we see the back of a muscular black man as he easily performs pull-ups. He continues as the words COMING SOON fade onto the screen.

Back live, the New Age Outlaws music hits to cheers and they make their way to the presentation area.

Road Dogg: "That's right it's me, it's me, that D O double-G. So... ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, D-generation X proudly brings to you, it's five-time tag team Champions of the World! The Road Doog Jesse James, the Bad Ass Billy Gun..."

The crowd complete the phrase, chanting "The New Ages Outlaws".

Gunn: "We were asked here to present the award for team of the year, but God-damn it we haven't been nominated, I'm not impressed! So, here are the nominees..."

Graphics on the screen show the nominated teams:
  • Team Rhodes Scholars
  • Kofi Kingston & R-Truth
  • The Prime Time Players
  • Team Hell No
  • Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara

Road Dogg: "And the team of the year, ourselves excluded... are your WWE Tag Team Champions Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara."

Mysterio's music hits for the second time in the night as Rey and Cara make their way out. Cara accepts the award as Mysterio speaks.

Mysterio: "It's been one of the greatest honours of my career to take this man under my wing and show him the way here in WWE. We are your current Tag Team Champions, but I have no doubt that this man will win numerous singles titles. Now, he doesn't speak a whole lot of English, but I know that in New Age Outlaws style he does have two words for you..."

Cara: "Thank you."

The crowd cheer as Mysterio's music plays again. The action transitions to the announcers, who feed to a replay from SmackDown's episode of MizTV. Miz interviewed Honky Tonk Man but didn't let him speak, which resulted in Honky smashing his guitar over the head of the Intercontinental Champion.

JR: "The Miz is on a mission to beat Honky Tonk's record as the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time, if he wants to achieve that he's going to have to defend that title against the current record holder."

Miz's music then hits to boos, he confidently makes his way to the ring with the Intercontinental Championship over his shoulder. Honky Tonk's music hits to a positive reaction and he enters the ring for his first WWE match in several years.

Miz makes quick work of Honky, finishing him off with a Skull Crushing Finale in under 4 minutes.

The Miz def. Honky Tonk Man to retain the Intercontinental Championship

As Miz celebrates, the announcers tell fans that voting for Superstar Of The Year has ended and the result will be announced shortly. They then feed backstage where Josh Matthews is standing by with SmackDown GM Booker T.

Matthews: "Booker, you have been given a lot of credit for devising the World Heavyweight Championship tournament. You must be upset at how the final ended?"

Booker: "You damn right I'm upset, in fact I'm furious. But if Big Show thinks that getting both men disqualified is going to get him out of defending his title he's got another thing coming. This Friday on SmackDown we will have a rematch between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton, and to make sure nobody gets involved that match will take place inside a steel cage."

Back in the arena, Mr McMahon's music hits to a big reaction from the crowd. Vince appears for the first time since losing a TLC match to CM Punk prior to the TLC pay-per-view and makes his way to the presentation area.

Vince: "It's been quite a night hasn't it? I'm still in quite a bad way after that TLC match a few weeks ago, but I felt like I had to present this award in person. Ladies and gentlemen you will have noticed that you were unable to vote on the Comeback Of The Year Award, and that is because for me there is only one winner. Sure, 2012 was the year we saw the likes of Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho return to WWE, but in my eyes one comeback eclipses them all..."

A video package on Jerry Lawler's heart attack airs. It emphasises how close he came to death before he made his return as the GM of Monday Night Raw. Back live, Vince introduces Jerry Lawler to cheers from the crowd. Jerry shakes the hand of Vince and accepts the award, soaking in the applause of the crowd.

Lawler: "Wow. I really am speechless. It's been quite the ride for me these last few months, and I thank God for giving me a second chance at life..."

Before he can continue, Cult Of Personality hits to massive heat from the crowd. WWE Champion CM Punk appears wearing his title around his waist and dressed to wrestle. He is accompanied by Paul Heyman. Punk has a mic and walks up to Vince and Jerry.

Punk: "This is cute. Two old guys I almost killed sharing an emotional moment. Jerry, you stepped into the ring with me and it was nearly the death of you. Then Vince, you did the same and I gave you the beating of a lifetime. And then there was John Cena, a man who hasn't been able to show up here since I almost broke his neck with a Piledriver. I'm here to make a point, I did those things to you to make a point. A point to The Rock. To Dwayne. Rocky, if you have the balls to show up next week on Raw you have only yourself to blame. You will step into the ring with the best in the world and you will challenge me for my WWE Championship... But you will lose. You won't just lose the match, you will lose your dignity as I beat you within an inch of your life. Hell, by the time I'm done with you Mr Tooth Fairy, you'll have lost your precious movie career too because I am going to do to you what I did to John Cena... I am going to end you!"

Cult Of Personality hits again and Punk makes his way to the ring. Justin Roberts announces the following as a Champion vs Champion match.

JR: "Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from our WWE Champion, Jerry Lawler almost died after a match with Punk and he has no remorse at all. For a guy who talks so much about respect, he certainly has none for anyone else."

Zack Ryder's music plays to bring out the United States Champion as Punk's opponent.

Punk dominates the first 5 minutes of the match, mocking Ryder's Woo Woo Woo taunt. Ryder makes a comeback at the 7 minute back, landing a Broski Boot and following up with Rough Ryder. The crowd is hot and thinks Ryder has the match won, but Punk kicks out at 2! A frustrated Ryder waits for Punk to get back to his feel before attempting a second Rough Ryder, but Punk hangs Ryder up on the ropes. He follows with a GTS for the win in 9 minutes.

CM Punk def. Zack Ryder

Cole: "Love him or hate him, our WWE Champion is proving himself to be one of the greatest of all time. A convincing win over our United States Champion, Punk has only one week to wait before coming face to face with The Rock."

JR: "Before that Punk has another Champion vs Champion match to prepare for – this Wednesday on Main Event to celebrate the first show of 2012 we will have two triple threat matches. Punk will face Tag Champion Rey Mysterio and Intercontinental Champion The Miz, while World Champion Big Show faces Tag Champion Sin Cara and US Champion Zack Ryder."

Cole: "Up next on Monday Night Raw, we will reveal the winner of Superstar Of The Year and we will have an exclusive interview with John Cena, don't go anywhere folks!"

Raw goes to it's final commercial break. Raw returns with the ring decorated in red carpet as Justin Roberts stands mid-ring.

Roberts: "Ladies and gentlemen, to present the award for 2012 Superstar Of The Year, please welcome back to WWE... two-time Hall Of Famer, Nature Boy, Ric Flair!"

The crowd erupts with cheers as Ric Flair returns to WWE for the first time since leaving TNA. Flair is dressed in a suit and struts his way to the ring as the crowd WOO! Flair enters the ring and takes the mic from Roberts.

Flair: "My goodness it is good to be back home! You know, I really missed this place, I really missed you guys!"

The crowd cheer Flair as he accepts an envelope from ringside.

Flair: "Now I'm not here to get all sentimental on you, I'm here to present the award for superstar of the year! So let's take a look..."

Flair opens the envelope then smiles to himself.

Flair: "This aint gonna please everybody, but my lord this man is my friend and I'm excited to reveal that the 2012 Superstar Of The Year is... John Cena!"

Cena's music plays and the crowd cheers. Cena appears on the titantron live via satellite, sporting a neck brace to sell the effects of his neck injury. Cena has a serious look on his face.

Flair: "John, my friend, congratulations!"

Cena: "Thanks Ric, but I can't accept that award. It's great that my fans have voted for me, but I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart that 2012 has been the worst year of my life. I lost the biggest match of my life at WrestleMania, I was beaten and bloodied by Brock Lesnar, I failed to win the WWE Championship... and then there's this..."

Cena points to his neck brace before continuing.

Cena: "I saw the interview that JR conducted with my physician on Friday Night. He said he remains hopeful that I'll be good to go before WrestleMania. Well, my doctor aint gonna like what I have to say. I can't sit here for another three months doing nothing. I'm wearing this neck brace because of two people: Brock Lesnar and CM Punk. Now I don't blame Punk for what he did – he used a lethal move to win a match to retain the WWE Championship. But Brock... he threw me through tables and damn-near ended my career for no reason other than jealousy. Brock is jealous that despite the beating he gave me back at Extreme Rules, I was the man who won that match. Look, I haven't lost sight of my goal. I need another shot at The Rock, and one day I know I will get there. But right now I've got more important things on my mind. Brock Lesnar, I'm calling you out. Next week on Monday Night Raw I will return, medically cleared or otherwise, and I want to fight you."

The crowd cheer and Flair woos. Cena's music plays again as Flair struts around the ring with Cena's award.

Cole: "Massive announcement from John Cena, he makes his return next week on Raw and he's calling out Brock Lesnar!"

Suddenly, Lesnar's music hits. Flair stops in his tracks and sells concern as Lesnar appears on the stage, flanked by Heyman. Lesnar smiles before heading to the ring. Flair bravely tries to fight off Brock, but he's no match for Lesnar who over-powers Flair and leaves him lying in the middle of the ring following an F5.

The crowd boo as Heyman enters the ring with a mic. Heyman and Lesnar stare into the camera as Heyman yells the words: "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!"

Raw goes off the air with Lesnar standing tall over a prone Flair.

Wow loved the Slammy Awards edition of RAW and I think Cena is just crazy for even wanting to call Lesnar out especially after what Lesnar did to him breaking his neck and Cena is just causing further risk for injury by stepping into the ring with Lesnar because if Lesnar gets his hands on Cena again, Cena could be on the shelf for a really long time even missing WrestleMania 29 and perhaps even missing SummerSlam 2013, hell if Cena is on the shelf for a really long time he might be back by Survivor Series 2013 in November

Triple H returning with his new buzz cut haircut I loved it, he and Taker deserved to win Match of the Year, and Triple H now I hope that now that he is back, he goes after Brock Lesnar for breaking his arm not once but twice, reigniting the rivalry between Triple H and Brock Lesnar

If anything CM Punk he should have won Superstar of the Year in my opinion, longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era, turning away all comers and not Cena who had the worst year of his life in WWE

I wonder what happens now for Royal Rumble, if Show will defend his title against both Orton and Bryan in a Triple Threat because if that happens then Show's title reign could very well be over

Cena winning Superstar Of The Year is part of the story I'm telling. Punk knows he should have won, so does Cena. It will play out on SmackDown.

The World Championship match will be set following the cage match between Orton and Bryan.

But at the same time Show he could get involved in the Steel Cage Match taking it upon himself to come inside the Steel Cage Match ripping the door off of its hinges and then once he is in there, he could knock both Orton and Bryan out and then leave the cage but if that were to happen, Smackdown GM Booker T could then decide to make a Triple-Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble pay per view with Show defending his title against both Orton and Bryan and Show doesn't even have to be pinned or even be made to submit to lose his title because Orton could pin Bryan or make him submit and Bryan could do the same vice versa and Show could lose his title that way

But then let's not forget Ziggler he still has his Money in the Bank briefcase and he could cash it in on Big Show or whoever the champion is, when the champion is at his most vulnerable, Ziggler could come in and cash in

Friday Night SmackDown - 4th January 2013

SmackDown begins with a new intro video package as there is no brand split all of the big names are featured in the video. Live in the arena, a pyro display fires and crowd cheer as Josh Matthews and JBL welcome fans to the show.

Matthews: "It's the first SmackDown of the new year, welcome ladies and gentlemen to a massive episode of Friday Night SmackDown! Myself Josh Matthews alongside JBL, John we're in for some amazing action tonight."

JBL: "That's right Josh, welcome everybody! Not only do we have the steel cage match between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan to determine who will face Big Show for the World Title, our General Manager has booked a 2 Out Of Three Falls match between Sheamus and Wade Barrett."

Matthews: "The stipulations of that match will be revealed later on in the show. We also have reaction from John Cena's personal physician after Cena revealed on Monday that he will make his return this Monday on Raw."

JBL: "I don't think it's a coincidence that Cena has elected to make his return the same night as The Rock Josh, but you know the only thing on Cena's mind right now is Brock Lesnar."

Cult Of Personality hits to boos from the crowd.

Matthews: "Well it looks like we're going to kick things off with our WWE Champion."

CM Punk appears dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. He is wearing the WWE Championship belt around his waist, in one hand he is carrying a trash can and in the other a black briefcase. Punk makes his way to the ring.

JBL: "What on earth is Punk doing here, the guy looks like he's headed to a yard sale!"

Matthews: "It's quite rare these days we see Punk with Paul Heyman."

Punk enters the ring and takes a mic from ringside.

Punk: "As your WWE Champion for over one year, I am afforded a few liberties that I have rightfully earned. One of these liberties is being able to open up the show and make a few bold statements. You see, I've got quite a reputation for dropping pipe bombs and getting people talking. But right now people aren't talking about the greatest WWE Champion of all time. They aren't talking about me, my record breaking title reign, my countless successful championship defenses against everyone thrown in front of me, no. People are talking about everyone except me, they're talking about Brock Lesnar, they're talking about John Cena... they're talking about The Rock."

The crowd cheer at the mention of Rock's name.

Punk: "Oh yeah that's right, everybody get excited, The Tooth Fairy himself makes his return this Monday! Yeah, The Rock, returning AGAIN. This is the same guy that returned at WrestleMania 27 and said he was never going away again. Then he went away, then he came back, went away, came back, went away, and is somehow afforded a shot at my WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble! Mr. Part-Time vs Mr. Every Night, I hate to disappoint you people but there's only going to be one winner. So you can all roll out another red carpet for the movie star, we can chant Rocky and sing along with Dwayne, but when it comes down to action, when he steps in the ring with me, he is just another man. And he is a man like every other man, a man below me, because I am the best wrestler in the world!"

The crowd boo Punk. He then places the trash can in the middle of the ring, before unhooking his WWE Championship belt and holding it in his hand.

Punk: "But tonight I'm not here to talk about The Rock, because as usual The Rock isn't here. No, tonight I'm here to address my WWE Championship. This title. This spinning golden toy belt introduced by John Cena. Now I know that I am better than John Cena, I've proven it every time we've been in the ring together. So I woke up one morning and questioned why I am still carrying around the John Cena WWE Championship belt. No longer..."

Punk throws the spinner belt into the trash can before picking up the briefcase.

Punk: "As the longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era, I told our board of directors it was time for a new belt. A belt that will go down in history as the belt introduced by CM Punk at the start of 2013. A belt that I will continue to successfully defend, a belt that will never be held by The Rock, by John Cena, by the Undertaker or by Stone Cold Steve Austin..."

Punk opens the briefcase and pulls out the new-style WWE Championship belt, before placing it over his shoulder.

Punk: "It's time for change people, and I don't just mean the belt. It's time you people moved on from people like The Rock and looked to the future. And the future, is me, the best in the world, CM Punk!"

The crowd boo, but the boos explode into cheers as John Cena's music hits. The crowd goes wild at the thought of an unadvertised Cena appearance, but they are left disappointed when Paul Heyman walks through the curtain dressed as John Cena. Heyman mocks Cena's signature entrance before entering the ring and taking a mic.

Heyman: "You can't see me, you can't see me!"

He performs Cena's trademark hand gesture as the crowd boo and Punk laughs.

Punk: "You're right John, we can't see you. That's because CM Punk decided to drop you with a piledriver and leave you unable to compete. And at the Royal Rumble, if The Rock is foolish enough to put his health and movie career at risk by stepping into the ring with me, I'm going to do the same to him."

Cult Of Personality plays, the crowd boo and Punk exits the ring with Heyman.

Matthews: "We kick off the new year with a new championship belt! John what do you think?"

JBL: "The belt is very nice Josh but Punk's attitude is not. He talks so carelessly about endangering the careers of fellow professionals, I think he's under-estimating just how good The Rock is."

Matthews: "Well we'll find out this Monday as The Rock returns to the WWE on Raw. Still to come tonight, our main event sees Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan step inside a steel cage, the winner of that match goes on to face Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble. There's also a 2 Out Of 3 falls match between fierce rivals Sheamus and Wade Barrett. We can now join Matt Striker backstage..."

Backstage, Matt Striker is standing by for an interview.

Striker: "Ladies and gentlemen please welcome my guest at this time, the General Manager of Friday Night SmackDown, Booker T."

Booker walks into shot dressed in a suit.

Striker: "Booker not only have you scheduled a steel cage match tonight, but you've sanctioned a 2 out of 3 falls match between Sheamus and Wade Barrett. We've seen these two go at it in numerous stipulation matches, what was your thinking behind booking the 2 out of 3 falls match?"

Booker: "It's real simple Matt, I can't allow Wade and Sheamus to continue to run around here attacking each other from behind. They've traded wins these last few weeks, so tonight they will settle their differences once and for all. So not only will it be a 2 out of 3 falls match, there's going to be some stipulations added. The first fall will be a Tables match, the second fall a No Disqualification match, and if a third fall is needed it's going to be an I Quit match."

Striker: "And of course our main event tonight is a rematch you ordered Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton stepping inside a steel cage."

Booker: "Yeah. I'm feel the tournament I put together to determine a new number one contender to Show's title was a credit to SmackDown, Bryan and Orton have earned their spots in the finals. Now I aint letting Big Show ruin all that work, so the cage is designed to keep him from interfering again."

Stiker: "Finally Booker, 2013 kicks off with a bang with CM Punk introducing a new WWE Championship belt. He defends that against The Rock at the Royal Rumble, are you excited for Rock's return?"

Booker: "Of course, I'm looking forward to welcoming Rock back to SmackDown next week."

Striker thanks Booker for his time. Back live in the arena, Cody Rhodes' music is playing as Rhodes is mid entrance. Ryback is out as his opponent to loud cheers from the crowd, and the announcers note both men are looking to build momentum ahead of entering the Royal Rumble match.

Cody gets in a brief moment of offense early on, but Ryback's power is too much for Rhodes. Ryback toys with Rhodes, throwing him around the ring before finishing him off with a Meathook/ShellShock combo.

Ryback def. Cody Rhodes

A graphic on the screen shows a still on Brock Lesnar standing over a fallen Ric Flair from Monday Night Raw. The announcers plug the Raw Rebound after the break.

SmackDown returns with the camera on the announcers.

Matthews: "Ladies and gentlemen our final show of 2012 was the Slammy Awards this past Monday on Raw, but a surprise return of a hall of famer soon turned into tragedy as Brock Lesnar once again made his presense felt. Let's take you back to this past Monday Night."

A replay from Raw airs Ric Flair returns to WWE and presents John Cena with the Superstar Of The Year award. Flair is in the ring along as Cena appears via satellite, when Brock Lesnar hit the ring and delivered an F5 to Flair. The video then transitions to a post-Raw backstage interview with Lesnar. Lesnar is asked why he came back and why he attacked Flair Lesnar coldly replies "I like to hurt people."

Back live, Big Show's music hits to boos. Show is dressed to wrestle and makes his entrance while holding the World Title over his shoulder.

Matthews: "Well it's going to be an interesting night for this man, he's just an hour or so away from learning who he will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against at the Royal Rumble."

As Show completes his entrance, Brodus Clay's music then hits. He makes his usual entrance.

JBL: "Now here is a man with a score to settle."

Matthews: "That's right John, before Show can thing of defending his title he has to overcome Brodus Clay. It was 2 weeks ago on Christmas Eve when Big Show knocked out Brodus backstage, Clay looking for some revenge here tonight."

Brodus hits the ring but is immediately speared by Show. Show stands dominantly in the corner as the ref checks on Clay. The referee asks Clay if he wants to continue, he slowly gets back to his feet and nods his head. The crowd cheer Clay as he once again charges at Show, but Show delivers a WMD. The crowd boo as Show places on foot on Clay for the pin.

Big Show def. Brodus Clay

Show demands a mic from ringside as the crowd continue to boo.

Show: "Oh you can boo me, that's fine. I knock our your heroes for a living, and thats exactly what I'm going to do at the Royal Rumble. So whether it be Randy Orton or Daniel Bryan, the result will be the same. One WMD, one two three, Big Show retains. So yeah you keep booing, you boo because you know deep down that there is nothing you can do about it."

Show throws the mic at a fallen Clay, his music hits and Show exits up the ramp with his title belt.

JBL: "An amazingly dominant display by our World Champion Josh, it's hard to disagree with anything this guy says right now. Brodus Clay is no small guy, and Show finished him off with two moves."

Matthews: "Show once again displaying his dominance, but will Randy Orton or Daniel Bryan be able to stop him?"

JBL: "We'll find out at the Rumble!"

Matthews: "And of course at the 2013 Royal Rumble, 30 men will enter the ring in a bid to earn a championship match at WrestleMania..."

The traditional Rumble By Numbers video airs.

Back live in the arena, the Prime Time Players are making their way to the ring. Titus has a mic, he blows on his whistle and speaks on behalf of the team.

Titus: "Now I know ya'll are trippin', last Monday Night on Raw ya'll voted for Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara to win team of the year at the Slammy's? What about your boys Titus O'Neil and Darren Young? I aint happy about this, so what's gon' happen is I'm gon' step in that ring and destroy Sin Cara. Then you'll have no choice but to admit you were wrong. Maybe then the Prime Time Players will take the Tag Team titles too? And you know what titles mean..?"

Titus and Young do their Millions Of Dollars dance before been interupted by Sin Cara's music. Cara makes his entrance, accompanied by Mysterio for singles action. SmackDown goes to commercials a few minutes into the match.

After 8 minutes of even action, Sin Cara lands a moonsaults and goes for the pin but Young hops the apron to attempt to distract the referee. Mysterio pulls Young from the apron and the pair trade blows. This distracts Cara, who walks into a Sky High from O'Neil. It's good for the win.

Titus O'Neil def. Sin Cara

Titus and Young retreat up the ramp and once again perform their Millions Of Dollars dance while Rey checks on a fallen Cara in the ring.

JBL: "Massive win for Titus O'Neil tonight, that's going to give Booker T something to think about."

Matthews: "Titus O'Neil possibly putting the Prime Time Players in the mix for a Tag Team Championship match..."

The camera focuses on the announcers.

Matthews: "... Now ladies and gentlemen, last week WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross conducted an interview with John Cena's personal physician. The doctor told Ross that Cena would require months to recover from his neck injury. Since then Cena has declared he will make an early return this Monday on Raw, so JR caught up with Doctor Smith via video-call for his reaction."

A split screen shows JR on the left and the doctor on the right as the call is aired.

JR: "Doctor Smith thank you for once again taking some time out to speak with me. Last week you told me that if John Cena were to return too early and further injure his neck, that his career may be over. Of course you will have heard that Cena intends to return this coming Monday to confront Brock Lesnar, can I have your thoughts on this?"

Smith: "I'll tell you the same thing I told John earlier today. I cannot stress enough how dangerous it is for John to return on Monday. The injury he sustained at the hands of Brock Lesnar caused severe damage to a perfectly healthy and strong neck. If the same injury were to occur upon an early return, we wouldn't just be talking about the end of John Cena's wrestling career. We'd be talking about the very real possibility that John Cena may not walk again."

JR: "That's going to concern John Cena's fans doctor."

Smith: "It concerns me too, frankly. We can only do so much, we've done everything we can to ensure Cena will wrestle again but he needs to allow his body enough time to recover. But that's the reality of it, John can make his own decisions and if it's a risk he is willing to take then we will end his treatment and have to just hope for the best."

The calls ends on that note, and SmackDown returns with Damien Sandow making his way to the ring for a match. He is dressed in his usual robe and carries a mic to the ring as he makes his entrance.

Sandow: "Allow me to beg your indulgence for one moment... SILENCE! My quest to win the World Heavyweight Championship tournament was unsuccessful on this occasion, but my endeavors were not entirely wasted. Allow me to refresh your memories..."

A replay is shown of Sandow defeating United States Champion Zack Ryder in the first round of the tournament.

Sandow: "... When myself and my best friend Cody Rhodes brought Team Rhodes Scholars to an amicable end, I vowed to justify that decision by winning singles gold. I hold a pinfall victory over the United States Champion, and as such feel it right and proper that I be rewarded with an opportunity to repeat that feat and become the champion of this nation."

R-Truth's music then hits to bring out Sandow's opponent for the night, but Sandow remains unimpressed.

Sandow: "Yet instead of a championship match I am forced into singles action against this fool a man who speaks to an invisible child and feels it appropriate to gyrate and thrust during a match. I am above such tomfoolery."

Sandow attempts to walk away from the match, but Truth cuts him off and throws him back into the ring. The ref orders the match to start and Truth goes straight to work, not even letting Sandow take off his robe.

Sandow regains the momentum at the 4 minute mark with a thumb to the eye. He removes his gown before mounting his own offense. Sandow gets a clean win at 6 minutes with his Neckbreaker finisher.

Damien Sandow def. R-Truth

Sandow yells You're Welcome in the face of Truth before SmackDown goes to commercials.

SmackDown returns with an advert for The Rock's return. It focuses on CM Punk hitting Rock with a GTS at Raw 1000 and asks if Rock can once again become WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble.

Back live, Lillian Garcia is in the ring.

Garcia: "The following is a two out of three falls match! The first fall is a No Disqualification match, with the only way to win either pinfall or submission. The second fall will be a Tables match, the only way to win to drive your opponent through a table. And if required, the third fall will be an I Quit match; the winner the man who can force his opponent to say the words I Quit."

The crowd cheers the stipulations as the camera pans ringside, which is littered with tables and chairs. Sheamus is first out to a pop from the crowd, and he makes his way to the ring as the announcers discuss the recent history between Sheamus and Barrett.

Matthews: "This rivalry will come to an end tonight in conclusive fashion. We've seen Barrett and Sheamus trade wins in Tables and Chairs matches, John what do you make of the stipulations named by our General Manager Booker T tonight?"

JBL: "I think it's very smart! If one man wins two straight falls there is no arguing who the better man is, and if that third fall is required then what way to prove your dominance than by literally forcing your opponent to quit?"

Sheamus stands at the front of the ring staring down the ramp waiting for Barrett. Barrett's music plays, but rather than entering via the ramp he enters through the crowd. Sheamus is unaware, and falls victim to a series of chair shots from Barrett.

The bell rings to begin the match as Barrett continues to beat down Sheamus with the chair, the crowd booing loudly. Barrett attempts a cover but Sheamus kicks out at 2! This angers Barrett, who continues to smash Sheamus with a series of chair shots. Another cover is made and this time Barrett gets the 3 at the 4 minute mark.

Matthews: "Wade Barrett gets the first fall early and has done significant damage to his opponent..."

JBL: "Yeah but I think Sheamus may be playing possum a little here, he knew if he kicked out there he was just going to get more shots with the chair. You take the loss and now Sheamus has to try and find a way to force Barrett through a table."

Sheamus starts to pull himself up in the corner as Barrett sets up a table outside the ring. Barrett climbs onto the apron after setting up the table, but is hit with a surprise Brogue Kick. The crowd pops as Barrett goes crashing through the tables, leveling the scores at the 6 minute mark.

The third fall goes a further 12 minutes, with both men using weapons and submissions moves to try and force the other to quit. At the 19 minute mark, Sheamus applies a Cloverleaf at the top of the ramp. Barrett has no choice but to yell I Quit into the mic that the ref holds in place, and the crowd cheers as Sheamus is declared the winner.

Sheamus def. Wade Barrett

Sheamus sells his injuries as the ref raises his hand on the stage.

Matthews: "Sheamus overcomes that attack at the beginning of the match and comes from behind to win!"

JBL: "What a brutal match between these two, a match that has to go down in SmackDown history. What a fight!"

Replays of the highlights of the match air as the announcers continue to put over both men. SmackDown fades to commercials as the camera gets a close up of Barrett in pain on the floor.

SmackDown returns with a vignette; in a darkened gym, a muscular black man is adding more weights to bench-press apparatus. He then lays in position and easily lifts the weights. The screen goes black and the words COMING SOON appear on the screen.

Back live, Ricardo Rodriguez is stood in the ring with a mic as Lillian Garcia introduces him. Ricardo then performs his traditional announcement for Santino, and the crowd cheer as Santino's music plays. Marella makes his way to the ring with a power-walk.

JBL: "I still cannot believe this clown is paying Ricardo to introduce him, he is no Alberto Del Rio!"

Matthews: "Santino set for singles action with Antonio Cesaro here tonight, and guys this all came about a few nights ago when Santino mocked Cesaro for caryying the European Championship belt."

JBL: "Well I can understand that, I mean the European Championship hasn't been sanctioned here for years."

Matthews: "Cesaro would go on to hit Santino around the head with the belt, and SmackDown GM ordered the pair in a match right here tonight."

Cesaro's music then hits to boos and he makes his way to the ring with the European Championship belt around his waist. Santino attempts an early Cobra, but Cesaro avoids the contact and smashes Santino with an uppercut. He follows up with a Neutraliser for the easy win.

Antonio Cesaro def. Santino

The announcers put over a dominant display from Cesaro before feeding to Matt Striker backstage.

Striker: "Please welcome my guest at this time, the Celtic Warrior Sheamus..."

Sheamus steps into shot.

Striker: "Sheamus you've finally put your rivalry with Wade Barrett to bed after forcing him to say the words I Quit, how does that feel?"

Sheamus: "Feels great Matt, it really does. These battles with Wade have made me tougher and even more determined than ever. Now he has had to say those famous words, I can turn my attention to other things. Things like the 2013 Royal Rumble. See, I won the Royal Rumble match last year and I went on to WrestleMania to become the World Heavyweight Champion. So this year, I will once again be entering the Royal Rumble match... and maybe this year WrestleMania will be headlined by Sheamus vs The Rock or CM Punk for the WWE Championship?"

Sheamus smile as the camera fades back to the arena. Lights are flashing as the steel cage is being lowered.

Matthews: "Guys it's time for our main event, Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton stepping inside a steel cage for the right to face Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble."

JBL: "Orton and Bryan are two of the most popular and talented superstars on the roster today, their original match was set to be a 5 star classic before Big Show got involved. I can't wait to see these two tear it up inside the steel cage, whoever wins this match really will have earned their title shot."

Matthews:
"Just to remind viewers, this match is the culmination of an 8-man tournament set up by our General Manager Booker T. Big Show faces the winner at the Rumble with his World Heavyweight Championship on the line."

The cage is lowered into position and Lillian Garcia handles introductions from ringside.

Garcia: "The following is a steel cage match to determine the number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship. The only way to win is by pinfall, submission, or by escaping the cage."

Daniel Bryan is first out to a strong reaction, with the usual YES chants as he makes his way inside the cage with a serious look on his face. Orton gets an even louder reaction from the crowd, and he enters the cage and slams the door behind him.

JBL: "These two have gone on record in the past stating their mutual respect for one-an-other, but you can see they both mean business here tonight."

SmackDown goes to it's final commercial break two minutes into the match.

SmackDown returns with Orton in control. At the 7 minute mark, Orton connects with his trademark DDT from the ropes but can only secure a 2-count. Orton signals for an RKO, but Bryan counters into the Yes Lock. Orton manages to reverse the pressure and attempt another pin, but Bryan gets out just before the 3.

After 10 minutes, Bryan has the upper-hand. He connects with a series of stiff kicks, but Orton ducks the attempt at a kick to the head and drops Bryan with an RKO! The crowd pops and they think it's all over, but Bryan kicks out! Orton can't believe it, and neither can the announcers.

Bryan is groggy, and Orton is clearly hearing voices. He takes three steps back and the crowd cheer as he attempts a Punt Kick, but Bryan avoids the contact. Orton's foot crashes against the turnbuckle, and as he turns around he is met with an RKO from Bryan! Both men are down at the 13 minute mark with a red hot crowd.

Both men slowly get back to their feet and attempt the climb the cage, trading blows with each other as they make it to the top of the cage. The pair trade right-hands before Orton crashes Bryan's head into the top of the cage. Bryan looks knocked out, but Orton loses his balance and takes a tremendous fall from the cage to the middle of the ring! Bryan and Orton come round at the same time: Orton slowly crawls to the cage door as Bryan begins to climb down the side of the cage. Both men make it to the floor at the same time, and the ringside refs argue amongst themselves.

Matthews: "Oh my God! John that really was too close to call, Orton and Bryan literally touching the ground at the same time."

One ref raises Orton's hand as another raises Bryan's, and the announcers wonder what the official decision is. Finally, Mike Chioda informs Lillian Garcia of the match result.

Garcia: "Ladies and gentlemen, the decision of Senior referee Mike Chioda is that both men escaped the cage simultaniously therefore this match is a tie."

Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan ends in a tie

The crowd boo the decision.

JBL: "Well that's all well and good Chioda but what happens at the Rumble now?"

Suddenly, Booker T's music hits to cheers from the crowd and SmackDown's GM walks out onto the stage.

Booker: "Cut the music. Look, guys, that really was an amazing cage match, neither of you deserved to be on the losing end of that result. And as both of you escaped the cage at the same time, I hereby declare that Big Show will defend his World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble... against Randy Orton... AND Daniel Bryan!"

Booker's music plays again as the crowd cheer. The announcers sell excitement at the announcement. They give a quick plug to Rock and Cena returning on Raw before SmackDown goes off the air.

Yes Big Show now is at a disadvantage because now he has to defend his World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat Match against Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton, so that means Show doesn't even have to be pinned or even be made to submit to lose his title because Orton could pin Bryan or make him submit and or Bryan could do the same in vice versa and either scenario Show would then lose his title, and that's what I love

And I loved CM Punk throwing the old WWE Championship into the garbage and introducing the new belt, it is finally about time something was done about it

Now Sheamus and Barrett's rivalry is over, now Sheamus can focus on the Royal Rumble Match but other 29 men are in the way

Default Re: WWE: Road To WM30

Monday Night Raw - 7th January 2013

Raw opens with a black-and-white replay of the end of Raw 1000: The Rock is about to perform a People's Elbow on Big Show when he is attacked by CM Punk. A voice-over then says: "After turning his back on the people, CM Punk must now prepare to defend his covetted WWE Championship against the People's Champion." There are then quick-fire replays of all of CM Punk's successful Championship defences, before Punk yells "I have no reason to fear The Rock or any other man because I am the best in the world!"

The video then shifts to the recent injury to John Cena. We first see Brock Lesnar throw Cena through a table, and then deliver a massive powerbomb to the neck of Cena. We see images of Cena in the hospital over Christmas as his doctor's words are replayed; "If John takes another landing like that we could be talking not only about the end of his wrestling career, we could be talking about John Cena been confined to a wheel-chair." Images of Cena and Lesnar's match back at Extreme Rules then flash as Cena's voice says; "Come hell or high water, I will be back this Monday to call out Brock Lesnar."

Live in the arena, a huge pyro display kicks off the first Raw of 2013. Michael Cole and Jim Ross are on commentary.

JR: "Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Monday Night Raw! Jim Ross and Michael Cole here to bring you an action-packed edition of Raw..."

Cole: "That's right Jim, hi everybody. All I guess I can say is FINALLY The Rock has come back to the WWE! The great one is back and has his sites set on CM Punk."

John Cena's music then hits to a thunderous reaction from the crowd mostly cheers mixed with a few boos from the adult males. Cena steps through the curtain dressed in his usual attire but sporting a neckbrace.

JR: "We're not going to waste any time, John Cena returns for the first time in weeks and opens up the show."

Cole: "You see there Cena still requiring the neck brace after he was savagely attacked by a returning Brock Lesnar, and Jim you yourself spoke with Cena's physician who told you that this early return is a big mistake."

JR: "That's right, Cena still needs weeks of recovery before he should be stepping back in the ring."

Cole: "Cena has said he's here to call out Brock Lesnar, Jim even if Cena were 100% that's not really a smart move."

Cena walks his way to the ring with a serious look in his face, he takes a mic from ringside before saluting the fans. Cena's music fades out and he waits out a Cena chant before speaking.

Cena: "It feels great to be back. It's been a while since I was forced away from you guys. Did you all have a good Christmas? Let me tell you about mine. See, while most people were drinking egg nog, opening presents and eating turkey, I was sat in a hospital bed nursing my neck. My injured neck, an injury that the doctors said could have ended my career. An injury sustained by Brock Lesnar..."

The crowd boo the mention of Lesnar's name before Cena continues.

Cena: "... See I had it all planned out. 2012 was the worst year of my professional career. I lost the biggest match of my life against The Rock at WrestleMania, I had my ass kicked all over Extreme Rules by Brock Lesnar, I was pinned by Mr Excitement and I failed every time I challenged for the WWE Championship. But 2013... 2013 was going to be different. You see, at TLC I was granted another shot at CM Punk and his WWE Championship. And I figured if I won that match, then we already know that The Rock has a title shot at the Royal Rumble. So by becoming champion at TLC, I'd get my second shot at The Rock and my shot at redemption. But instead I was brutally attacked by Brock Lesnar, and now Rock will be facing CM Punk at the Rumble."

Duelling Punk/Rock chants break out from the crowd.

Cena: "But that wasn't my only route to The Rock. I need another shot at Rock, I need it more than anything in the whole world and I won't rest until I get it. So here's my theory if Rock captures the WWE Championship from Punk at the Rumble then he's there to be shot at by whoever wins the Royal Rumble match. I think I've spoken long enough so let me get to the point I am not going to let this injury or Brock Lesnar stop me getting to The Rock, so whatever the doctors say I am officially entering the 2013 Royal Rumble!"

The crowd cheer.

Cena: "And when I win, I am calling out the WWE Champion... wether it be CM Punk, or The Rock."

Suddenly, Brock Lesnar's music hits and the crowd errupts. Cena has a concerned look on his face as he looks up the ramp. Lesnar appears on the stage with an angry look on his face, before Paul Heyman follows Lesnar with a twisted smile.

JR: "John you've gotta get out of there for God's sake, you're in no shape to stand up to this monster!"

Cena stands his ground as Lesnar charges the ring. Lesnar immediatley tackles Cena with a massive spear that pops the crowd. Heyman is heard shouting instructions to Lesnar as he smashes Cena with a series of elbows to the head. Lesnar rips the neck brace from Cena before hoisting him up into the air for an F5. Cena manages to escape and connects with a shoulder charge to Lesnar. He follows up with a second charge and the crowd rally behind Cena. Cena gets Brock in position for an Attitude Adjustment but Lesnar delivers a series of elbows to Cena's injured neck. Cena collapses in pain before Brock once again lifts him for an F5. This time Lesnar connects. Heyman stands over a prone Cena as the doctor attempts to enter the ring, but Brock bench presses him out of the ring.

As the Cena fans boo, Heyman slowly enters the ring with a mic.

Heyman: "I'd like to pick on something you said in that little monologue John. You said WHEN you win the Royal Rumble match. John Cena, you aren't going to win the Royal Rumble match, and let me tell you why. See you may well be able to eliminate 28 superstars, but the 29th opponent... will be Brock Lesnar!"

The male fans cheer the announcement that Lesnar will be in the Royal Rumble match.

Heyman: "My client is not entering the Royal Rumble match because he is desperate for a Championship match at WrestleMania John. Brock Lesnar is entering the Royal Rumble match because he likes to hurt people, and the Rumble presents him with a unique opportunity to destroy 29 other humans. But the one he will hurt that little but more than the others, well that's going to be you John. Brock Lesnar is entering the Royal Rumble to hurt people, but more than anything else he is entering the Royal Rumble to make sure that you do not win."

Lesnar laughs to himself as his music once again plays and he exits the ring with Heyman, both men smiling. Cena remains laid out in the ring as the announcers talk in hushed tones.

Cole: "Look we knew that Cena was taking a massive risk turning up here tonight while still recovering from injury but Jim John Cena hasn't moved."

JR: "Brock Lesnar can end careers in the blink of an eye, Michael you've got to wonder if Cena will even be able to make it to the Royal Rumble."

Further medical staff enter the ring and carefully lift Cena onto a stretcher as Raw goes to commercials.

Raw returns with the camera on the announcers. They narrate over replays of Lesnar attacking Cena and a RawActive video of medics carrying Cena to the back while Raw was off the air.

JR: "There are a lot of people who love John Cena, and a lot of people will have been very happy that he decided to come back. But Michael, after another beating at the hands of Lesnar, what next for John Cena?"

Cole: "Well ladies and gentlemen as you can see with these exclusive images Cena was helped to the back by our medical staff during the commercial break, I can reveal that Cena is currently receiving treatment from the doctors backstage. We will of course keep you updated on the condition of Cena as Raw rolls on."

The bell then rings and Justin Roberts announces a tag team match. Rey Mysterio's music hits to cheers from the crowd and the Mysterio makes his entrance with Sin Cara.

Roberts: "The following non-title match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, the WWE Tag Team Champions, the team of Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio!"

Cole: "Mysterio and Sin Cara set for a non-title match against the Prime Time Players momentarily, let's take you back to Friday Night SmackDown..."

A replay of Titus O'Neil picking up a singles victory over Cara is shown as Cole continues.

Cole: "...O'Neil and Darren Young took exception to Rey and Sin Cara winning the Slammy Award for Team Of The Year, and after Titus managed to knock off Sin Cara they are now setting their sights on the Tag Titles."

JR: "That's right Michael and you can't blame them the tag division is wide open right now. We've recently seen great teams like Team Hell No and Rhodes Scholars part ways, the door is open for the likes of the Prime Time Players to earn a title shot. A victory here would certainly put them in contention."

Prime Time Players' music then hits to boos and O'Neil and Young make their way to the ring in usual fashion; Titus blowing his whistle and Young combing his hair. They enter the ring and the bell rings to start the match.

O'Neil dominates Sin Cara for the first three minutes of the match with a series of power moves. Young enters the action but is met with a hurricanrana by Cara. Cara makes the hot tag to Mysterio, who gets big cheers from the crowd as he unleashes an array of high-flying moves on Young. O'Neil attempts to make the save, but Rey lowers the top rope and sends Titus to the outside. Rey then connects with a 619 to Young, and climbs to the top rope to drop the dime. Cara however blind tags himself back into the match Rey looks confused as Cara himself climbs to the top rope. He attempts a Frog Splash on Young, but Young gets the knees up. Young then connects with his finisher and pins Sin Cara, O'Neil holds onto the leg of Mysterio to prevent him making the save and Prime Time Players pick up the win in 6 minutes.

Prime Time Players def. Sin Cara & Rey Mysterio

The Players retreat up the ramp as Rey helps Sin Cara to his feet. The announcers talk over a replay of the finish.

JR: "Big upset right there! Mysterio looks to have the match won for his team, but Cara tags himself in and goes on to lose the match."

Cole: "You've got to wonder why Cara tagged himself in instead of letting his partner finish things off."

Cara seemingly appologises to Mysterio in the ring and the pair shake hands.

JR: "Miscommunication happens between team mates sometimes, what matters now is Rey and Cara learning from this mistake and becoming better from it."

Cole: "Well they best learn fast because you know O'Neil and Young are going to be demanding a shot at those Tag Titles after defeating the Champions here tonight."

A graphic on screen shows the 20 men set for the battle royal main event.

Cole: "Still to come tonight, a huge 20 men battle royale with the winner allowed to select their Royal Rumble entry number."

JR: "Mix of youth and experience in that match, the likes of Kane, Regal and Christian coming up against the Dolph Zigglers and Ryback's of the roster. It's going to be a great preview of what's to come at the Rumble."

Cole: "Speaking of mixing youth with experience next week on Raw we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Monday Night Raw. The starts of the past will be on the show interacting with the current WWE roster; and on that night we will be holding a vote to crown your favourite superstar of the last 20 years..."

Backstage, a limo pulls into car park. Out of the limo steps The Rock and the crowd are heard cheering as he makes his way to the locker room.

Cole: "... Of course The Rock will be a popular choice among voters, The Brahma Bulls returns later on tonight!"

Raw goes to commercials, and returns with the Rumble By Numbers advert.

Live in the arena, Big Show's music hits to loud boos. Show appears dressed to wrestle and carries his World Title over his shoulder as he heads to the ring. He snatches a mic from Justin Roberts before climbing into the ring.

Show: "It doesn't take a genius to know that it isn't smart to make a giant angry. For months I have defeated all comers, everyone that has challenged me for my World Heavyweight Championship has been knocked out. Simply put, I can't be beat. So what does Booker T do? He puts me in a triple threat match at the Royal Rumble, knowing full well that I do not have to be beat to lose my title. And that makes me VERY angry. So Booker T better come right out here and correct his decision, or somebody's going to get hurt."

Show is interupted by Jerry Lawler's music, and the Raw GM appears on the stage to cheers and "Jerry" chants from the crowd.

Lawler: "Listen Show, I understand why you're angry. But you can't show up here and Monday Night Raw and start demanding that the GM of SmackDown make decisions for you. There might not be a brand split anymore, but Mr McMahon made it crystal clear that on Monday Nights I call the shots. So here's what's going to happen Big Show. Tonight you will get the chance to take your anger out on your Royal Rumble opponents. All you need to do is get backstage and find yourself a tag team partner, because tonight Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan will be in tag action against you."

The crowd cheer and Jerry's music plays again. Show looks less than impressed as the camera transitions backstage. Daniel Bryan is watching the events on a monitor when Randy Orton walks past.

Bryan: "Hey Randy, have you seen this?"

Orton: "Seen what?"

Bryan: "Jerry Lawler just booked us as tag team partners against Big Show tonight."

Orton: "So?"

Bryan: "Urm, so it gives us both a chance to weaken Big Show ahead of our Royal Rumble match."

Orton then gets in Bryan's face.

Orton: "I don't have to weaken Big Show ahead of the triple threat match. Daniel, I don't play well with others, tonight I might just drop you with an RKO and weaken you instead. We both know Show doesn't have to be pinned at the Rumble."

Bryan smiles at Orton, pats him on the shoulder and says "see you out there" before walking away.

Back live in the arena, the announcers talk while Brodus Clay completes his ring entrance with the Funkadactyls.

JR: "It's going to be one hell of a match later on, set aside Big Show's anger for a minute, I'd be surprised if Bryan and Orton can co-excist for that match."

Cole: "They might have to, Show has been unstoppable of late and it could well take two men to even attempt to stop him. That's still to come, but right now we've got Brodus Clay looking to pick up a big win..."

The Miz's music then hits to loud boos and the Intercontinental Champion makes his usual ring entrance.

Cole: "...The Miz has been telling everyone that will listen that he will break Honky Tonk Man's record as the longest regning Intercontinental Champion of all time, and at the Slammy's he even went as far as defending his title against Honky..."

JR: "Yeah but Michael Brodus Clay is a very different animal. This will be no walk in the park for Miz, and as we saw earlier in the night the challenger going into a non-title match has an extra incentive to beat the champion."

Cole: "That's right, a win for Clay tonight would likely put him in the picture for Miz's Intercontinental Championship."

In a short match, Clay gets in some early offense before Miz targets the knees of Clay. Miz eventually gets a convincing win with the Skull Crushing Finale in 4 minutes.

The Miz def. Brodus Clay

Miz poses with his title belt as the announcers praise the display of the champion.

JR: "Plenty of people have had a lot to say about Miz's background as a reality star, but I think he's just gone a long way to showing people he is not to be taken lightly."

Cole: "I'm not sure anyone should take any Intercontinental Champion lightly Jim."

The announcers once again talk over a replay of John Cena been attacked by Brock Lesnar before advertising that JBL will conduct a sit-down interview with Heyman's manager Paul Heyman after the break.

Raw returns with a vignette. In a dark gym, a musclar black man is easily bench pressing heavy weights. He stands up and reveals the name LANGSTON on the back of his singlette. The screen then goes black before the words "coming soon" appear on the screen.

Back live, the camera is on the announcers who transition to JBL. JBL is sitting across from Paul Heyman.

JBL: "Thanks gentlemen. I am joined here by the manager of Brock Lesnar and the WWE Champion CM Punk, Paul Heyman. Paul, thank you for joining me. I'll get straight to the point; it's a big night for CM Punk."

Heyman: "Let me stop you right there Mr Layfield. Tonight is like every night for CM Punk, he is preparing to defend his championship against an inferior opponent. The Rock may be the People's Champion, a big time movie star and future Hall Of Famer. CM Punk knows what The Rock is, he's not disputing any of that. But that fact remains that CM Punk is the best wrestler in the world, and as such he knows that there is nobody he has to fear. So Rocky will return tonight and promise the millions that he will end the reign of CM Punk, but deep down he knows what everyone else knows. The Rock is no match for CM Punk, and at the Royal Rumble he will lose."

JBL: "Okay, well I respect your opinion. What I cannot respect though is the vicious attack of John Cena by your client Brock Lesnar. Mr Heyman, could you please explain the motivation behind Brock's actions?"

Heyman: "Yes, quite easily. Here's the thing; I only have two clients on my books but they are the two best in this industry. Yet on the front of the program tonight, on the avdertising boards outside the arena, who do you see? Do you see a record breaking WWE Champion? Do you see the most destructive man in wrestling and MMA history? No you do not, you see a movie-star and a fan favourite who's been getting booed out of thr building for years. Brock Lesnar and CM Punk are very different men but they are united by a single goal, and that is to usher in a new era. An era of fighters. People are bored of Cena, they're bored of his stupid jokes and rainbow shirts. They're bored of The Rock coming back and talking about putting things up the rectum of his opponents. People don't want talk, they want action. They want the best action. And the best is Brock Lesnar, the best is CM Punk. And let me promise you that neither of my clients will be satisfied until they have rid WWE of Rock and Cena forever. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go speak with my clients."

Heyman walks out of the interview and JBL feeds back to the announcers.

Cole: "Very strong words by Paul Heyman."

JR: "Very strong, but the worrying part of what he is saying is that it's all true. Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, frankly it doesn't get any better. So if they've set their sights on ending Rock and Cena, you better believe they're capable of it."

Cole: "We saw earlier they're capable of it, and we're still to receive an update on the condition of John Cena after Brock showed his dominance at the top of the show."

The bell rings and Justin Roberts announces that the following is a tag team match. Randy Orton's music hits to a very strong reaction from the crowd and the Viper makes his usual entrance.

Cole: "These last few weeks we've seen Randy Orton go back to listening to the voices in his head. We've still not seen Alberto Del Rio since Orton tried to end his career in that Tables match back at TLC, and you saw earlier tonight that he doesn't care who he has to go through to regain the World Heavyweight Championship."

Daniel Bryan's music then hits to bring out Orton's partner for the match. Bryan enters the ring and engages in a stare-down with Orton. Big Show's music hits to boos and the World Champion appears on stage with a mic in his hand.

Roberts: "And his partner..."

Show: "No Justin, there will be no partner. If Booker T wants to throw these two men in my way, then I say we don't wait for the Royal Rumble. I will give you all a preview of what to expect in three weeks by taking on both of them right now in a handicap match."

Show slams the mic down and marches to the ring with an angry look on his face. Bryan and Orton argue about who will start the match before Bryan backs down from Orton.

Show dominates Orton in the early going before Orton hits an RKO at the 5 minute mark. Orton is two weak to immediatley capitalise however. Show is in one corner on his knees trying to recover, and the crowd cheer as Orton starts to hear voices and back in to the opposite corner as if to perform a Punt Kick. Bryan however tags himself into the match, drawing angry looks from Orton. Bryan charges at Show and performs his trademark dropkick in the corner. Show falls to the floor and Bryan connects with a top-rope headbutt, but Show shocks the crowd when he powers out at 1! Show goes on to take the upper-hand on Bryan.

At the 9 minute mark, Bryan manages to escape a Chokeslam attempt and tags in Orton. Orton hits his trademark moves on Show: a series of clotheslines before an impressive snap-powerslam. The crowd pops at Orton's feat of strength and Orton signals for an RKO. However instead of targetting Show, Orton pulls Bryan into the ring and drops him with an RKO. The crowd cheer as Orton stares down a fallen Bryan, but the cheers turn to boos as Orton turns around and receives a WMD from Show. Show places one hand on Bryan, one hand on Orton, and pins both men for the win.

Big Show def. Daniel Bryan & Randy Orton

Show holds his title belt aloft as the announcers feed to replays of the match.

JR: "An amazing display from Big Show, but Michael if is wasn't for Orton and Bryan trying to one-up each other things could have been very different."

Cole: "It's every man for himself in that triple threat, but Orton and Bryan need to realise the only way to stop this giant might be to work together."

JR: "Even then it might not be enough, Big Show just defeated two of the best in the business in a handicap match!"

Cole: "Ladies and gentlemen still to come, The Rock returns to WWE for the first time since he was attacked by CM Punk back at Raw 1000. Plus, we have that 20-man battle royale. But up next, Josh Matthews is standing by outside the medical room with an update on the condition of John Cena."

Raw returns with an advert for the 20th anniversary Raw special next week, before feeding to Josh Matthews backstage.

Matthews: "Welcome back to Monday Night Raw, where moments ago John Cena walked out of this medical room on his own two feet but once again supporting a neck brace. Cena himself did not give a comment on his attacking by Brock Lesnar, but I have just received a written diagnosis from our doctor. It reads:

John has luckily not received any new injuries, but has set his return back after aggrivating his current neck injury taking an F5 from Brock Lesnar. We will continue to endevour to get John Cena back in time to compete in the Royal Rumble match, but it is my recommendation that Cena does not put himself in a position to cause further damage to his neck. One more attack of this nature could lead to serious injury, possibly career-threatening.

So there you have it folks, Cena has aggrivated his neck injury and our medical team have once again warned him against getting in the ring prior to the Royal Rumble match."

We transition to the GM office, where Jerry Lawler and Booker T are in conversation. Prime Time Players walk into the office. O'Neil blows his whistle to get the attention of Booker and King.

O'Neil: "Now I know y'all saw what me and my boy Darren Young did tonight. We pinned the Tag Team Champions!"

Young: "Yeah! We want a shot at those titles Jerry."

Booker: "Listen, if I grant you a title match this Friday on SmackDown will you stop blowing that damn whistle?"

O'Neil: "Sure."

Booker: "Then you got it, now get the hell out of here man, we're having a meeting."

Back live, several superstars are already in the ring as Justin Roberts declares that the next contest is a 20-man battle royale. In the ring are William Regal, Epico, Primo, Justin Gabriel, Tyson Kidd, Santino, Antonio Cesaro, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, Joe Hennig, Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, Zack Ryder, Wade Barrett, Christian and Dolph Ziggler.

Cole: "JR we'll discuss the news on Cena momentarily, but a big announcement by Booker T moments ago, a Tag Team Championship match this Friday on SmackDown."

JR: "The momentum is certainly with the players, the Champions have a point to prove, it should be great. But right now, we've got the battle royale. In the ring there's already some amazing talent."

Cole: "That's right, you've got the current United States Champion and Mr Money In The Bank in there, as well as a host of former champions."

Kane's pyro shoots to boos as the Big Red Machine is next to enter with AJ skipping along behind him.

Cole: "Here's a man with huge Royal Rumble experience, he is just a couple of eliminations away from breaking the all-time record of eliminations held by Shawn Michaels."

JR: "And you've got to believe he's one of the favourites, the big question is what number the winner will select."

Cole: "You'd assume 30, give yourself the best chance of victory."

Ryback is next out, he gets a big face reaction as he enters the match. The final man to enter is Sheamus, who's music is met by loud cheers from the crowd.

Cole: "And here we have the winner of the 2012 rumble, Sheamus has said of numerous occasions he intends to make it back-to-back wins. Jim this is going to be good."

The bell rings and the match begins. Santino gets a pop from the crowd when he immediatley attempts to perform a Cobra on Kane, but Kane grabs Santino by the hand and throws him from the ring to draw the first elimination. With numerous tag teams in the match, they work together to try and take advantage. Kidd & Gabriel and Epico & Primo trade moves before Kidd & Gabriel eliminate Epico & Primo simultaniously.

Kane continues to dominate the battle royale, eliminating R-Truth via Chokeslam. Meanwhile, Ryback is also displaying many power moves and performs a gorilla press to eliminate Antonio Cesaro.

Rhodes Scholars had disbandded several weeks ago, but found themselves working together to eliminate Christian, which draws boos from the crowd. The reunion doesn't last long however, with Sandow eliminating his unsuspecting former-partner.

Justin Gabriel notices Wade Barrett knocked down in the corner and foolishly climbs the top rope to attempt a 450 splash. Dolph Ziggler capitalises on Gabriel exiting the ring and dropkicks him off the turnbuckle to draw the elimination. Tyson Kidd then attempts to eliminate Ziggler in retaliation, but Dolph superkicks Kidd over the top rope.

In a repeat of the 2010 Royal Rumble, William Regal knocks Kofi Kingston to the outside but he clings on to the barrier. However, when Kofi leaps back to the apron he is met by a Bullhammer elbow from Wade Barrett and is eliminated.

Joe Hennig and Ted DiBiase have been double-teaming Ryback for a number of minutes, but Ryback over-powers the pair and picks up a dual elimination when he clotheslines both men over the top rope and out of the ring. The announcers put over Ryback and Kane looking strong so far.

Damien Sandow and Zack Ryder renew their recent rivalry as they trade blows. Ryder attempts a Rough Ryder, but Sandow ducks the attempt and uses the momentum to throw Ryder over the rope. The announcers note that Sandow has another reason to expect a US title shot after eliminating the current champion.

Whenwhile on the other side of the ring, a valiant effort from William Regal comes to an end when he meets a big boot from Kane and is sent crashing out of the ring, drawing boos from the hardcore fans. The final six stand still and stare eachother down as the annoucners feed to commercials with Ryback, Kane, Dolph Ziggler, Sheamus, Damien Sandow and Wade Barrett still in the battle royale.

Raw returns with the heels beating down the faces. Barrett attempts to perform Wasteland on Ryback, but he slips out behind Barrett and charges him over the top rope. Moments later, Sandow is eliminated after a Brogue Kick from Sheamus. Sheamus celebrates, but turns round to meet a superkick from Ziggler that eliminates the Irishman.

Cole: "Big upset, big upset here, Dolph Ziggler has eliminated the 2012 Royal Rumble winner!"

Ziggler and Kane then double-team Ryback to heat from the crowd. Kane drops Ryback with a massive Tombstone, before picking Ryback up. Ziggler is screaming instructions at Kane, but the Big Red Monster doesn't take kindly to this and instead grabs Ziggler by the throat and eliminates him via Chokeslam.

By this time, Ryback has got back to his feet and lands a Meathook Clothesline on Kane. Ryback yells "finish it" and picks Kane up over his shoulder. He charges toward the ropes, but Kane counters. Both men crash over the top rope and apparently hit the floor at the same time, drawing confusion from the announcers.

JR: "Ryback looked to have it won here, but Kane shifts his momentum and both men go over the top rope together. What happens now?"

A replay of the finish runs.

Cole: "Let's take a look at the replay, you see here both men hit the floor at the same time, I guess we have a tie!"

Ryback & Kane win the battle royale.

Ryback and Kane continue to trade blows on the outside before AJ jumps on Ryback's back. The distraction allows Kane to Chokeslam Ryback on the floor. Kane shoots his pyro to boos and he exits up the ramp with AJ.

The Rock is shown walking down the hall, he returns after the final commercial of the night.

Raw returns with a graphic for SmackDown while Michael Cole narrates over it.

Cole: "Welcome back to Monday Night Raw ladies and gentlemen where we have some breaking news. After Kane and Ryback simultaniously were the last ones eliminated from our battle royale, SmackDown General Manager Booker T has announced the pair will go one-on-one this Friday with the winner selecting his entry number for the 2013 Royal Rumble match."

Live in the arena, the camera pans the arena as The Rock's music hits to a monster reaction. The cheers continue as Rock's music plays before he appears on the stage wearing a Just Bring It t-shirt and jeans. Rock poses for fans at both sides of the stage before making his way to the ring.

JR: "You can feel the electricity in the air here! The Rock has returned!"

Cole: "Have you ever heard a reaction like this? Wow!"

Rock performs his trademark pose on the turnbuckle before taking a mic from ringside. Rock's music stops and he waits out a "Rocky" chant.

Rock: "Finally! Finally! Finally, The Rock has come BACK to Monday Night Raw!"

The crowd cheer as Rock continues.

Rock: "But why? Everywhere The Rock goes, every interview The Rock has, people are asking The Rock why he is returning to WWE. They're asking why he has turned down big movie roles to return not just for a few dates, but to be here electrifying the millions every single night. Why? Well The Rock says this, The Rock has three reasons for coming back. Reason number one, The Rock came back to whoop that tattooed jabroni CM Punk's candy ass!"

The crowd cheer Rock's use of his trademark lines.

Rock: "Reason number two, The Rock promised the night after he beat John Cena that he would once again become WWE Champion, and The Rock WILL come good on that promise at the Royal Rumble. And reason number three, perhaps the most important reason, what inspires The Rock... WrestleMania. See, let The Rock explain to you why WrestleMania 29 will be so special. The Rock has twice walked into WrestleMania as WWE Champion, and both times The Rock has ended the night looking up at the stars while Stone Cold Steve Austin walked out with his championship. The Rock has unfinished business, The Rock has one glaring omission on his CV, The Rock has never successfully defended the WWE Championship at WrestleMania..."

Rock waits out "Rocky" and "Autsin" chants before continuing.

Rock: "... The Rock went part-way to righting the wrongs of WrestleMania 15 and 17 when he beat Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 19, but there was no championship on the line that night. No, no, no, but there will be a Championship on the line in New York. So here's what's going to happen. The Rock is going to march right into the Royal Rumble, he's going slap the ugly tattoos off of CM Punk's body and once again become WWE Champion. And then, The Rock is going to defend that title on the grandest stage of them all. And no matter who he faces, The Rock is going to walk into WrestleMania 29 as WWE Champion, and at the end of the night he will hold that belt in the air STILL the WWE Champion..."

Cult Of Personality interupts Rock and draws boos from the crowd as CM Punk confidently makes his way to the stage. Punk is wearing a hooded jacket and jeans and slowly walks to the ring while carrying a mic.

Punk: "Hi Dwayne! Remember me? My name..."

Rock: "It doesn't matter what your name is!"

The crowd cheers Rock, but Punk laughs off the comment.

Punk: "No, no, it does matter Rocky. It really does. You know why? Because I am the WWE Champion, I am the best in the world, and I'm the man who left you ling flat on your back on the biggest episode of Monday Night Raw in history. You know, ever since I hit you with that GTS at Raw 1000, people have been asking me why I did it. The reason I did it is the very same reason that you coming back was a massive mistake Rock, it's the same reason you should have stayed in Hollywood and left these people with the memories of the old Rock. It's because I am better than you. It's not your time anymore Rocky, it's not the Attitude Era anymore, WWE has moved on. They've moved on to people like CM Punk and Brock Lesnar. They've moved from entertainers and their little catchphrases, these people don't tune in to sing along with Rocky, they tune in to watch CM Punk hurt people..."

Punk enters the ring and continues to address Rock.

Punk: "... You talk to these idiots about your plan, about how you're going to take my WWE Championship from me. You can try Rock, but you'll come to the same realisation that John Cena, Big Show, Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio, Daniel Bryan, Kane and Ryback came to. You will realise that CM Punk is the best in the world, and that he can't be beat. So make no mistake, a candy ass is going to get whooped at the Royal Rumble, but it won't be mine Rocky. I'm going to whoop the Tooth Fairy's candy ass all over the Royal Rumble..."

Rock retaliates to the joke with a right hand and the crowd explodes as Rock and Punk trade right hands. Punk knees Rock in the stomach and attemts a GTS, but Rock slides out the back and pushed Punk into the ropes, connecting with a spinebuster on the rebound. The crowd goes wild as Rock takes off his shirt, throws it into the crowd and performs a People's Elbow on Punk.

Rock takes the WWE Championship belt and performs his trademark tunbuckle pose with the belt as his music hits to wild cheers from the crowd.

JR: "Is this what we're going to see at the Royal Rumble?"

Cole: "One thing is for sure, The Rock has come back and he means business!"

Rock drops the title belt on a fallen Punk and Raw goes off the air with Rock standing tall.

It seems Cena is going to be out indefinitely because there's no way Cena heals up in time for the 2013 Royal Rumble Match and after what Lesnar did to Cena savagely attacking him the way he did yet again, Cena will even be lucky if he comes back at all because Lesnar is a beast, Lesnar is a former Royal Rumble Match winner since Lesnar won the 2003 Royal Rumble Match so Lesnar has got to be the favorite heading into the 2013 Royal Rumble Match and for good reason too but imagine if Lesnar did win the Royal Rumble, then the WWE Champion or the World Heavyweight Champion's title reign would be in serious jeopardy because if Lesnar sets his sights on either title, then he is a shoe-in to win it

PTP beating Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio, I wonder if you are building up to a Sin Cara heel turn because of this and if you are, then I wouldn't be opposed to it either but Sin Cara to me he just screams face, and Rey is too much of a face that I couldn't even see him as a heel, but I think I see what you're doing, setting the seeds in motion for a Rey Mysterio vs Sin Cara match for WrestleMania 29 and if you are, then I say great

RAW's 20th anniversary I can't wait to see who comes back for that show, legends from Bret Hart to Shawn Michaels to The Undertaker maybe or even Stone Cold Steve Austin to Triple H to Kevin Nash, anyone who is anyone could be there at RAW's 20th anniversary and I for one can't wait to see how you write that up, I wonder if Lesnar will be at RAW 20 and if he is, then that's even better but knowing Cena, I can't see him showing up especially after this brutal attack, but I can't wait to see who is crowned RAW's all-time superstar of the past 20 years, whoever it is, I am sure will be a deserving candidate that's for sure

Miz beats Brodus Clay in what I thought was a great match for Miz, it builds up his credibility even more for when he eventually breaks The Honky Tonk Man's record of being the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion of all time but at the same time though Miz is starting to grow stale as a heel, as in the fact that Miz has been heel for so long that at this point in Miz's career it would be better for him to turn face

Loved Paul Heyman's interview about Brock Lesnar being in the Royal Rumble Match but also that Lesnar is in the Rumble Match simply to hurt people because that's what Lesnar does, he's an ass kicker, a war machine, a beast if you will and I wouldn't want to be any of the 29 other men in that Rumble Match especially if Lesnar is in there but then at the same time Punk, Heyman's other client has to defend his WWE Championship against The Rock at the 2013 Royal Rumble pay per view but as for Punk's title reign I don't see it lasting too much longer

Some tension between Orton and Bryan heading into the Triple-Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble when Big Show has to face both Orton and Bryan to defend his title, but Show he has nearly been unstoppable pretty much been unbeatable since becoming champion, that I don't know if Orton or Bryan can beat Show but at the same time Show he doesn't even have to be pinned to lose his title, that either Bryan could pin or make Orton submit or Orton could pin Bryan or make him submit and Show could lose his title that way, so Show is at a disadvantage really in the Triple-Threat Match because he has like a 33% chance of retaining his title

But Show beats Orton and Bryan in a Handicap Match to pretty much gain momentum heading into the Rumble pay per view

Ryback and Kane both simultaneously win the 20 man Battle Royal by eliminating each other at exactly the same time with both of their feet touching the floor at the exact same and the replays couldn't even tell just who won, similar to Bret Hart/Lex Luger in 1994 similar to Cena/Batista in 2005, but if this was the case, they could have had a sudden death overtime to determine just who won this Battle Royal but I wonder what happens now that both men won this Battle Royal?

Now Kane and Ryback have to face each other on Smackdown with the winner getting the chance to pick what number they will enter in at, at the Royal Rumble, but honestly I feel Ryback and Kane's feud has gone on too long and it just needs to end as far as I am concerned because it is losing its steam honestly

And I see Rock winning the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble pay per view, because I see that Punk is headed for greater things and that Punk needs to face The Undertaker by challenging The Streak because by Punk challenging The Streak, he could cement himself in his legacy even more and he doesn't need to be WWE Champion anymore anyway because his reign honestly has gone on too long in my opinion, it's time for a change

And for Rock the last time he was ever WWE Champion was 2002 when he was the WWE Undisputed Champion and that was when he lost his title to Lesnar, that is why I think Rock should have another title reign but honestly because the last time Rock ever main evented WrestleMania especially as the champion going in was WrestleMania 17 when he was champion defending it against Austin

But I loved the way you ended RAW with Rock laying out Punk with a spinebuster and then hitting the People's Elbow

But as for who should face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29 here, it has to be CM Punk mainly due to the Paul Bearer factor but other worthy opponents for Taker at WrestleMania 29 would be: Sheamus, Randy Orton, Big Show, Kane, Brock Lesnar, Rock, Cena, etc. but Punk is the only one out of those who needs to face Taker to gain ultimate respect

I'm glad you're enjoying my BTB, thank you for following it for as long as you have.

I have different plans for Rock vs Punk than how WWE did it and I hope it makes for an interesting story on the road to WrestleMania. Punk and Rock are set for massive matches at Mania, and my plans for Elimination Chamber are certainly special.

Cena is injured but the doctor has said he hasn't done any further damage, so he will be returning to Raw on the 20th anniversary after this coming SmackDown. As for returning stars, I'm sure you'll be happy with the legends that are involved.

I don't like Miz as a face, I don't think it works. His lengthy heel run as champion is part of the big story I'm telling for Mania, so at least for now he won't be turning. Things do start getting very interesting for him post-Rumble though.

As for Kana and Ryback, this isn't a continuation of their recent feud. I wanted to keep Kane strong as he has such a good Rumble match record and Ryback is been pushed as one of the favourites for the match so it made sense to have them as the last two. Their upcoming match on SmackDown is a one-off match that is about picking their rumble entry number rather than a personal grudge,

The PTPs picking up the win over Rey and Cara is the start of The Luchadors road to WrestleMania, you'll have to wait and see if that's as a team or opponents!

The triple threat for the World Title is designed to put Shows reign in jeopardy - he has shown he is very difficult to beat so will Orton and Bryan look to defeat him or take the easier way out by taking the title without pinning the champion?
