Heenen-

Your winner and new WCW Champion Ric Flair!

Schiavoni-

Randy Savage has been screwed out of the title by Flair and the horseman.
Savage has been robbed of his title. I dont envy Flair and the Horseman right now, Savage will have revenge on his mind.

Heenen-

Tune into Nitro tomarrow to see our new world champion Ric Flair

Fans boo as Starrcade 1995 goes of the air...

WCW was starting to get hot in late 1995 and heading into 1996 it looked like Nitro was going to carry WCW to the top of the Wrestling food chain if you will. This is my attempt at booking one of the most important years in WCW history. Above i gave you a glimpse into what the world title picture. I will dive into more detail on the first edition of Nitro ie; rosters, athority figures, champions etc. I plan on booking Nitro`s and PPV`s but there will be no WCW Saturday Night. Any superstars that would be wrestling Saturday Night matches such as Road Block or The Renegade wont be used heavily on my Nitros. This is my first attempt at Be The Booker so feedback would be appreciated, positive or negative it doesnt matter to me.

Default Re: WCW- 1996, Winds of Change

1/1/96 WCW Monday Nitro

Bischoff

Live from Atlanta Georgia, one hour of the hottest show on television WCW NITRO! Unless you have been living under a rock and havent heard, Ric Flair is the new WCW Champion.

Mongo

Ya baby Flair is back at the top of his game baby but dont get me wrong Flair had a little help along the way

Heenen
Flair had a little help from the Horseman but it was Flair that spilled the blood sweat and tears to pick up the victory.

Bischoff

What ever you say Brain. We have got a huge show for you tonight. Hulk Hogan was granted the next title shot and tonight will face Ric Flair for the title. The Armstrongs dead set on moving up the tag team ladder have demanded a match agianst Sting and Lex Lugar. Lord Steven Regal one of the premier grapplers in WCW will battle Chris Beniot, but in our first match former WCW Champion Randy Savage battles Arn Anderson of the Four Horseman.

David Penzer introduces the wrestlers that will be competing in the first match of the evening. Savage comes out to a massive pop. Anderson enters to a mixed reaction. Anderson starts the match off bullying Savage into the far corner, typical AA shoulders and punches force his man into the corner. Savage blocks a punch and comes back with a heavy right sending Anderson reeling. Savage stays on the attack working Anderson over with punches. Irish whip by Savage, clothesline attempt ducked by Anderson, Savage turns around and is met by a huge left hand followed by a european uppercut. Anderson locks in a hammerlock which is withstood by Savage untill he reverses it into a armbar of his own. Savage locks the armbar in and kicks Anderson in the solarplexes with his left foot. Another crank on the arm send AA to his kness. Savage works Anderson to the mat and goes for the pin. 1.5 count Crowd applauds Savages efforts. Anderson rolls out and finds safety out side the ring. Savage allows Anderson to enter the ring agian. Savage irish whips Anderson into the corner. Choke hold by Savage, Anderson hits Savage with a rake to the eyes. Anderson on the offensive works Savage over and hits a DDT. 2 count. Anderson pulls Macho up by the hair and locks in a hammerlock. Hammerlock scoopslam by Anderson. Pin 2 count. Savage gets up and works over Arn with his patented jabs to the head and chest. Arn fights back and shoves Savage into the referee. Out come the brass knucks. Savage reverses the attempt into a scoop slam. Fans go nuts as the Macho Man scales to the top rope. Elbow drop.
1.....
2.....
3.....

Winner Macho Man Randy Savage

Bischoff

Up next, Lord Steven Regal battles Chris Beniot

David Penzer

The following contest is a single falls match with a ten minute time limit. Entering the ring at this time representing the Blue Bloods Lord Steven Regal.

Regal enters to a shower of boos, just the way Regal likes it. Video package plays showing a Regal promo. He runs down Benoit and calls out TV Champ Johnny B Badd. Its obvious what his intentions are. Benoit enters and the battle is on. Fast pace favours the quicker Benoit in the early goings. Benoit takes advantage and nails Regal with a snap suplex and rolls for the pin.

1....
2....
Kickout

Back to there feet Regal nails Benoit with many calculated strikes and hits a german suplex. Regal locks in a single legged boston crab. Reversed by Benoit. Benoit pulls Regal up and irish whips him into the ropes, as Regal comes back Benoit hits him with a running clothesline. Johnny B Badd makes his presence felt on the isle. Benoit attempts a pin

1...
2...
kickout

Regal spots Badd and immediatly picks up the pace. Regal works over Benoit and hits the Regal Cutter!

1...
2...

Count is broken up by Badds distraction of the Ref. Regal charges at Badd who is on the ring apron and hits him to the floor, but Badd drops his TV Title into the ring. Benoit takes addvantage and cracks Regal in the skull with the title. Ref never saw it and it academic now.

1...
2...
3...

Benoit wins as Badd walks away with a smile on his face.

Heenan

Hot headed Lord Steven Regal cant be happy with the way that one turned out.

Mongo

Johnny B Badd done stepped over the fence and knowing Regal he wont get away with that one.

Bischoff

Beniot walks away with a win, tainted by a win none the less. Comin up after break Mean Gene interviews the Four Horseman

Mean Gene

Welcome back to Nitro. I am here with the Four Horseman but you seem to be down a man.

Brian Pillman

Gene, Flair's got a big match tonight and cant be bothered by an interview with scum like yourself. Now on to important matters. Arn Anderson, The Enforcer yet out of the two horseman that have wrestled so far you are the one without a win..

Benoit

Ya Arn what do you have to say about that.

Anderson

Chris, Brian I enjoy the enthusiasm but you got to focus on the task at hand. Individual success while important is not what the Horseman are all about. Ric Flair is the WCW World Champion and it is our responsiblity to make sure it stays that way. By the way Chris where were you last wednesday night at Starrcade?

Mean Gene

It seems to me that any problems that were in the horseman have been resolved by the Enforcer. Eric back to you.

Bischoff

Thanks Gene. It has come to my attention that the Smoking Gunns have won the Raw Bowl. Ohh Boy! Coming up next Steve and Scott the Armstrongs take on Sting and Lex Luger in tag team action!

Lex Luger and Sting enter seperatly. Warm reception for both of them. The Armstrong's enter next to a quiet but positive reaction from the Georgia faithful. Match gets underway with Luger starting agianst Scott Armstrong. Luger muscles Scott around the ring. Consecutive flying axe handles send Scott reeling into a nuetral corner. Luger charges in, Armstrong ducks out of the way and tags in Steve. Steve is met immediatly with a clotheslines. Pin attempt by Luger. 2 count. Luger tags in Sting. Sting irish whips Steve into the corner. Fans cheer knowing what comes next. Stinger splash, Steve stumples out right into a snap suplex. Sting tags in Luger. Luger signals for the racks and locks Steve Armstrong into the hold. Steve has no choice but to tap out.

Your winners, Sting and Lex Luger.

Mongo

Absolute domination by Sting and Lex Luger baby.

Bischoff

Right you are Mongo, The Armstrong brothers had no chance in that match. Brian take us threw the finish.

Heenen

Sting whips Steve into the corner, stinger splash followed by a suplex. Tags in Luger he applies the racks and Steve taps out. Win for Sting and Lex Luger.

Bischoff

Quite a dominating performance from Sting and Lu...... Wait what is that?

Mongo

Its the Dungeon of Doom's music!

Bischoff

Its the Giant and Jimmy Hart and they have a mic.

Giant

Hogan.. The day will come when we meet agian, whether or not you win tonight I want you in the ring 1 on 1.

Jimmy Hart

Hogan you have been down this road before and you recieved the beating of your career. The Giant is switching gears he is getting stronger, faster and he wants to use this to finally rid WCW of Hulkamania FOREVER! HAHAHAHAHA!

Bischoff

Sounds like the Dungeon still has an agenda to rid WCW of Hulk Hogan once and for all. Hogan cant let that get in the way of his focus becuase coming up after the break he faces off agianst "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair for the WCW World Title!

Hogan enters to a mix reaction from the crowd. It seems the fans have grown tired of his good guy approach. Flair enter to a warmer reaction. Match begins when Hogan shoves Flair down and connects with a shoulder block. Hogan with another shoulder block. Hogan with the test of strength and gains the advantage. Flair reverses with chops in the corner. Flair with right hands and then he drops Hogan down. Flair with more chops. Hogan now begins to no-sell those.
Hogan with several right hands, and Flair comes back with a back elbow. Flair sweeps Hogan to the mat and goes for the pin. 1 count. Flair goes up top but Hogan catches him and slams him off. Running clothesline by Hogan and he clotheslines Flair over the top to the floor. Hogan no-sells a whip into the railing, and he clotheslines Flair down. Hogan picks Flair up and throws him into the ring. Hogan enters the ring and works over Flair with stomps. Pin attempt by Hogan.

1...
2...
Kickout

Hogan irish whips Flair in the corner he slips up and over on to the apron, and Hogan clotheslines Flair on the apron. Flair gathers himself and hits Hogan with a chop block onto the knee of Hogan. Flair with a knee drop onto the knee. Boots to the knee of Hogan. Flair begins to leap onto the knee of Hogan repeated times. Flair places Hogan into the Figure Four right in the middle of the ring. Hogan manages to roll over and Jimmy Hart comes running down. Hogan notices this and begins to yell at Hart. Flair comes back with a boot to the knee. Flair with a delayed vertical suplex. Hogan kicks out at 2 and begins to Hulk Up. Flair attempts to work over Hogan with punches and chops but to no avial. Hogan with rights to the skull of Flair knocking him on the mat. Hogan hits the leg drop!

1...
2...

Arn Anderson broke up the count knocking the referee to the floor and causing a disqulification. The Giant charged to the ring and suckered Hogan from behind.

Nitro goes off the air as a beaten Hogan lies motionless in the ring with the Giant standing over him.

Hope you enjoyed my first show. Please let me know what you thought of the show and any suggestions or question's you may have.

WCW Saturday Night 1/6/96

Results..

"Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright defeats VK. Wallstreet

Hard fought match, Wallstreet was on the offensive untill a knee injury allowed Wright to nail Wallstreet with the bridging german suplex and get the 1.2.3. Who knows how long Wallstreet will be out.

Nasty Boys defeat Men at Work

Nasty Boys dominate the opening half untill Kanyon nails Knobbs with a super kick. Men at Work comeback was short lived as Sags hits his patented powerbomb on Starr to pick up the victory.

Stagger Lee Marshall Interviews Dean Malenko

Marshall and Malenko discuss the influx of new cruiserweight talent joining WCW in recent months, and the need for a Championship to crown the best cruiserweight in WCW. The Iceman says that they should just award him the Championship because he is, uncrowned or not the best cruiserweight in WCW, and that he will prove that tonight agianst David Taylor.

Dean Malenko defeats Squire David Taylor

Malenko dominated the entire match working Taylor over with his relentless mat wrestling, and finishing Taylor off with his Texas Cloverleaf submission hold.

Scott Norton defeats Kevin Sullivan by DQ

Nortan and Sullivan wrestle a hard fought physical contest. Norton starts to gain the advantage over Sullivan untill Meng and The Barbarian interfere and beat down Norton.

Lariatoh! Reviews The Winds of Change!

Hi Taker, just want to say I love WCW so it great to see another thread up and running. Nitro was an hour show and it's good to see how you would fill it with the top stars ... after all it's where the big boys play. Savage after losing the belt defeats Anderson in retaliation for his interference.. wish we got a bit of Macho Man post win promo..

Just a sugggestion, maybe break up the show with a backstage interview or a commercial break. Going from a Savage win to a Regal entrance kind of makes the reader feel, Regal walks out while Randy is still celebrating in the ring...

I now as a Horsemen, Beniot and Malenko were real badasses, but I'm not sure if he ever used a foreign object. I could be wrong, but I think Beniot always was more of a wrestling machine and would hurt people without using weapons. I used to love when Arn was their manager and would come in and hit his Spine buster and run out of the ring. They would interfere, but more with a wrestling move.. any way I'll stop whinging now you get the idea, it was still great and a Regal/Beniot match would have kicked ass. Like I said, my memory of that time is not the best so it's probably what he did.

Sting and Luger squash, love it! And on your first show we get a Hogan vs. Flair title match main event! AA gets involved and then the Giant takes out Hogan to end the show.

Maybe a little more description in the end. How deos Flair react to this? Are they in cahoots or ar the DoD maybe going to fight with teh 4H as well? In any case this is predating the nWo, and I'll be curious to see if you create the nWo or if you will move on without WCW venturing there in your world.

Fun show, please keep ti going, you've got a reader in me.

The feeling that Savage's match ended just as Regals started is just a product of poor storytelling, it is something that will improve. Thanks for the review though, I hope i can continue writing shows that keep readers like yourself interested.

1/8/96 WCW Monday Nitro

Bischoff

Welcome to Monday Nitro live from Charelston, South Carolina. You are with us for 1 hour of the hottest show on television, and like always it is live. We have got a great show planned for you tonight with a huge main event! Ric Flair the WCW heavyweight Champion teams up with Arn Anderson to take on Macho Man Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan.

Heenen

Wow! That is huge.

Bischoff

But thats not all Brain, Sting is in action tonight agianst DDP, Eddie Guerrero takes on Lord Steven Regal and in our opening match Brian Pillman battles "Das Wonderkind" Alex Wright.

Brian Pillman vs Alex Wright

David Penzer introduces the competitors. Brian Pillman enters the ring accompanied by Chris Benoit. Pillman is all buisness tonight. Alex Wright is next to enter. Referre Peewee Anderson signals for the bell and the match is on. Wright and Pillman lock up, Wright turn it into a hammerlock but it is quickly reversed. Both men reset and lock up agian, Pillman this time with the advantage irish whips Wright into the corner, running back elbow knocks Wright woozy. Wright stumbles out and is hit with a Pillman scoop slam. pin attempt

1...
2...
kickout

Pillman staying on the offensive administers a chin lock. Wright fights out and creates space. Pillman charges at Wright and is hit with a drop toe hold. Catapulte by Wright send The Walking Time Bomb crashing to the floor. Baseball slide by Wright knocks Pillman backwards into the guard rail. Wright climbs the top rope and leaps down hitting Pillman with a flying double axe handle. The crowd is getting into it. Benoit approaches Wright and Wright retreats into the ring. Benoit attempts to help Pillman up but Pillman pushes him away. Back in the ring now Pillman works over Wright with Ric Flair like chops redning the chest of Wright. Pillman climbs the top rope and attempts to hit Wright with a flying clothesline. Wright ducks out of the way and locks Pillman in a Half Boston Crap. Pillman is close to tapping but breaks out of the hold. Wright gets a head of steam and attemps to bounce of the ropes but is tripped up by Benoit. Wright turns his attention to Benoit. Wright is initially distracted but quickly turns his attention back to Pillman. Just as he does he is hit with a flying cross body by Pillman and pinned for the 1,2,3.

Winner Brian Pillman

Bischoff

Well that was a great effort by Alex Wright, but in the end Brian Pillman shows his vetern savvy and picks up the victory. Brain walk us through the finish

Heenen

Wright hit the ropes, gets distracted his distraction is cructial and it allows Pillman to hit him with the flying crossbody and pick up the win.

Mongo

There seems to be a little bit of tension between the Horseman baby. It looks to me like those boys are playing a little one ups manship

Bischoff

We have to go to commercial but coming up after the break Mean Gene interviews the Four Horseman

Commercial Break

Mean Gene

Please welcome my guest's at this time reinging WCW Champion Ric Flair and the Four Horseman.

Ric Flair last week on Nitro, Hulk Hogan had you pinned but thanks to your friend Arn Anderson you are still the WCW Champion. What do you have to say about that?

Ric Flair

Mean Gene, this was another priiimme example that Hulk Hogan simply cannot beat Ric Flair, WOOOO. Hulk Hogan is out of my league.

Mean Gene

But Arn Anderson broke up the count, you never beat Hogan.

Ric Flair

My friend Arn was just doing what was right.

Arn Anderson

It doesnt matter what I did, Ric Flair is still WCW Champion and thats whats important. 4 men thinking singularly acting collectivly thats what the Horseman are all about.

Mean Gene

Ric what is your reaction to Jimmy Hart's presence and the ensuing Giant attack on Hulk Hogan?

Ric Flair

Jimmy Hart and The Giant are running on there own agenda, all the matters is that the Horseman are riding high WOOOO. Tonight, The Nature Boy is gonna prove once agian that Hulk Hogan is inferior to me. To be the man, WOOO you gotta beat the man and Hulk Hogan is not the man.

Mean Gene

Thanks for your time, Ladies and Gentleman The Four Horseman, back to you Eric.

Bischoff

The Horseman seem to be full of confindence, there is no doubt about that. Lets see if it helps them tonight agianst that lunitic Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan. But for now its time to get back to the action, Eddie Guerrero is entering the ring for his match agianst Lord Steven Regal.

Guerrero enters first followed by Regal. Nice little mat exchange to start the match as Regal keeps Eddie grounded with a wristlock. Guerrero gets to his feet and uses the ropes to flip over Regal, but then he runs right into a knee. Regal attempts a irish whip but it is blocked and Guerrero turns it into a whip of his own. Regal bounces back and Guerrero hits Regal with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Pin Attempt

1...
2...
Kickout

Eddie pulls Regal up but Regal reverses it into a small package

1...
2...
Kickout.

Eddie escapes a butterfly suplex with a lucha armdrag. He follows up with a headscissors and a couple rollups, but Regal puts him back with a European uppercut. Reverse suplex by Regal gets two. Eddie keeps on fighting, but Regal keeps shutting him down. Regal's got Eddie's legs it looks like he has got the Regal Stretch! Regal wreches on the hold. Guerrero has no choice but to tap out.

Winner Lord Steven Regal

Bischoff

Big win for Regal certaintly moves him up the T.V title ranking.

Mongo

I think Regal was sending a message to Johnny B Badd baby. Johnny better be on his toes because Regals hot on his trail.

Bischoff

Coming up after the break The Franchise Sting takes on DDP

Commercial Break

Mongo tells us that DDP is losing this match before the bell evens rings. Page rubs his cigar in Sting’s face to kick us off. Sting comes back and dropkicks DDP through the ropes to the floor. Back in, Sting leapfrogs and gets his crotch destroyed by Page’s giant head. DDP takes advantage and gives Sting a back suplex. Swinging neckbreaker by Sting, he attempts the pin.

1....
2....
Kickout

DDP works the chinlock for a while with his feet on the ropes to show he’s a big jerk. Sting fights out and before you know it, he has Page in the Scorpian Deathlock for the win.

Winner - Sting

[i]Bischoff/I]

Commanding victory by Sting. Brain take us throw the finish of that one.

Heenan

DDP works the Chin Lock Sting fights out, Sting locks in the Scorpian Deathlock, nothing DDP can do but tap.

Bischoff

We gotta take a break, but dont you touch that dial becuase coming up after the break Macho Man Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan battle Ric Flair and Arn Anderson.

Commercial Break

Lee Marshall

Randy, Randy can I have a word with you for a second?

Macho Man

What is it?! I have a match to get to.

Lee Marshall

Randy, what are your thoughts on the way your match with Ric Flair ended at Starrcade?

Macho Man

What are my thoughts? What are my thoughts?! I was robbed of my title. Ric Flair, you better have eyess in the back of your head, yeahh. No body is gettin in the way of the Machoo Man, Yeah! Not you Ric Flair not Hulk Hogan not Arn Anderson, nobody! Macho Man will once agian be WCW World Champion and that is really bad news for you Ric Flair. I am the cream of the WCW, the cream of the crop, and the cream always rises to the top yeahh!

Flair and Anderson enter together to a mixed reaction, Hogan enters next followed by Savage who gets a massive ovation. Nick Patrick rings the bell to start the match and we are off. Flair doesn’t want Savage, he wants Hogan and that is exactly what he gets. Hogan NO-SELLS the chops and puts Flair down on his stomach with a hammerlock. Flair breaks the hold and tags in Arn. Arn charges across and Hogan sends the Horsemen running after they each take a slam. Back inside, Arn tries to suplex Hogan to the floor from the apron. Hogan blocks and sends Anderson into a Savage right hand. Hogan tags in Savage. Savage flies down on Arn with a double ax handle, in the centre on the ring. Pin Attempt

1...
2...
Kickout by Arn

Arn tags in Flair, but gets slammed off the top and put in the figure-four from Savage. Arn runs in and takes the same from Hogan. While the ref gets Hogan out of the ring, Arn walks over and DDTs Savage. Flair tags in Arn and the Horsemen continue to work over Savage as Nitro goes to commercial break.

Commercial

We come back to see more of the same. Arn clamps on the ab stretch and is getting some leverage help from Flair. Savage grabs a desperate sleeper on Arn, but gets backed into the Horsemen corner and sent to the floor to take a ride into the guardrail from Flair. Back in, Arn calls for another DDT. Savage hooks the ropes to block it and makes the HOT TAG TO HOGAN! He fights off a double-team and clotheslines both Arn and Flair over the top rope to the floor. Savage tosses Arn back in for Hulk to finish him off, but Arn reverses a whip and hits the Spinebuster! Hogan NO-SELLS and puts Arn away with the Big Boot and the LEGDROP.

Savage and Hogan win!

Savage isnt at all worried about the win and goes after Flair, Flair retreats but runs right into The Giant on the entrance ramp. The Giant pushes Flair off to the side and catches Savage in a chokeslam. Hogan runs to help Savage but before he can he is taken out from behind by "The Zodiac" Brutus Beefcake. The Giant then enter the ring and Beefcake and The Giant stage an all out assult on the Hulk. Nitro goes off the air as Arn and Flair, holding the WCW Title high above his head exit to the backstage area, with Savage staring them down.
