OFFICIAL DISCUSSION THREAD

With the start of our tournament on the horizon, we will have a main thread for the proceedings of the tournament (much like last year) and the user/participant discussion of the tournament should only take place in this thread. We appreciate your cooperation.

I am honored to be the primary spokesperson/host of the tournament, and am very excited to see what wonderful pieces our competitors will put out. In saying this, I can tell you now that this year's tournament will be fun, challenging, and much different from the previous tournaments held... but you will find out more about that as the time comes.

Like I said before, the primary thread for the tournament should be up within the next two days or so... but for now, all OOC discussion of the tournament should go here. DISCUSS!

Although I was so close in getting through to the next round, I'm very proud of the effort and work I put in. Every entrance was really good, I really liked Melvis' of course and Coolquip's. The judging must have been hard, what with all these great entrances. I'll definitely keep and eye out for the continuation of this here tourney. Good luck to all who made it through!

Just a quick note to the judges -

For a lot of the higher scoring entries, you didn't really critique them whatsoever. Yes they may have been good and yes it may be hard, but unless they're 80/80 then there has to be something wrong with them or something missing. Unless you're simply chucking random numbers at the scoreboard, there's a reason why you award entries a certain score, so unless they're perfect there has to be something wrong with them, right? So if possible, maybe try and critique the entries and say what they could improve on rather than just saying what you liked. If there was nothing you disliked and you liked every part of it, then surely a perfect score would be given?

I'm not trying to slag you off or criticize your judging by any means, all I'm saying is that some people may want some critique and constructive criticism and feedback rather than just being told what was good. It might just be me, though.

First and foremost these are just the qualifying rounds. Second of all, I made everyone wait long enough for the results by doing it the way we did... if we did it any more intricately, we probably STILL would have been waiting. On the same token, it's always implied that something can be done better. That's why the specific sections of judging have their own numbers.

The problem wasn't that we didn't know if we could do better, the problem is, we didn't know what we could do better. Numbers really don't say much when it comes to what needs to be improved. I know it took you guys some time and adding detail might've made you take even more time but I still do agree with the statement that, it's best if we know what's missing, why we didn't get that ten and such.

On a side note, back when I was here I think all the judging was split between the judges so if there were say 16 things to judge, each would judge 8 which saves the load you guys had. I believe judging 8 in more detail is easier than 16 broadly.

Of course, the post was still very much appreciated and I understand you guys are putting a whole lot of effort into this.

Yeah I understand completely, KingRo, and I'm not bitching or moaning whatsoever, it's just a suggestion. Whether you take it on board or not is completely up to you because at the end of the day, the aim of the tournament is to showcase the very best this section has to offer, not as a means to help improve said bookers.

Honestly, I think you're doing a great job and I really do appreciate the time and effort you're putting in and I'll be more than happy for tournament to continue as it is, it's just a suggestion.

All of that shit was epic. I agree with what some were saying though in that the judges some kind of advice for improvement. I think there was on some but I think it would help the person out a lot.

Looking forward to future rounds and in the future, I will proudly serve as an ass-kisser to whoever becomes king.

Everyone did an amazing job. I would not want to be in the judge's shoes judging these entrances. Good luck to everyone moving on, and I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with!

Tell me to stay out of it if you so wish but this thing is dragging on and is dangerously close, if not already there, to becoming stale, too long and a disaster.

It's now been nearly a week since the first round was completed and even that was a preliminary. It's been three weeks since the details for qualification were posted.

I'd suggest everyone involved start to group together and get this thing rolling, and fast. I'm saying this for the benefit of everybody involved.

No worries, lads. There were so many suggestions/complaints/concerns I had to take some time to actually consider them all moving into the first round of the H2H's. I've already got the post ready to go, just gonna add in the names of who's facing who and I'll have it posted up.

Could I just ask to be withdrawn from the competition please? The slowness of this has really forced me to pull out. I have no time tomorrow or Sunday to participate and for the rest of next week I'm moving house and will probably be without internet for a week or so from when we have moved in. Be no point in even attempting to participate anymore. Good luck to all those still involved, though. :)

I would imagine either you post your entry and the person who was just eliminated can get back into the tournament or, the tournament will carry on as if I'm still in it and they will just wait for me not to submit an entry, thus you get automatic qualification. Either way, I'd still send in an entry if I were you.

Just a few questions.

What is considered a cruiserweight?
What is considered a heavyweight/superheavyweight?
Do they have to be WWE wrestlers?
Do they have to be male wrestlers?

#222 ·
If I'm not mistaken, the official classification is any wrestler under 215 pounds. Heavyweights are anyone over.
No, they don't have to be WWE.
No, They don't HAVE to be male wrestlers.

As for Coolquip, you'll be facing the booker that was next in line for qualification, LegendOfBaseball. I will contact him and notify him of the change.

I shan't let myself be taken out by a mere peasant of this court. If cruel randomness is what has stalled my showdown with the King, then cruel randomness I shall bestow...

HeelKirby aside, I'm looking forward to it, dark horse ;) Also, kind of looking forward to what everyone's interpretation of an 'upset' is, seeing as how this is a very open-ended challenge. The only thing about that is I hope there isn't scoring discrepancies because of that.

Good luck to all :)
