OFFICIAL DISCUSSION THREAD

With the start of our tournament on the horizon, we will have a main thread for the proceedings of the tournament (much like last year) and the user/participant discussion of the tournament should only take place in this thread. We appreciate your cooperation.

I am honored to be the primary spokesperson/host of the tournament, and am very excited to see what wonderful pieces our competitors will put out. In saying this, I can tell you now that this year's tournament will be fun, challenging, and much different from the previous tournaments held... but you will find out more about that as the time comes.

Like I said before, the primary thread for the tournament should be up within the next two days or so... but for now, all OOC discussion of the tournament should go here. DISCUSS!

Wasn't expecting a WrestleMania entrance to be the first challenge, but I've got a couple of ideas running through my head.

I'd actually prefer it if we were able to post our entrances in the Tourney thread ourselves. The Tourney I was in, a couple of years ago, it was done that way and I believe that had a knock on effect when one person posted their match, it motivated others to get their's done.

Anyway, good luck to everyone.

Got an idea, wrote a draft and going to try to spruce it up tonight or tomorrow. Entrances aren't really my thing but, I can't imagine many are that into entrances. :p Think mine is a neat idea, just the way it comes across may or may not be lacking, we'll see once I've spruced it up.

Definitely harder than I thought it would be. I saw the challenge and thought "Pfft, an entrance? Is that it?" But when I got down to brainstorming some ideas, it became really difficult to flesh out and materialise certain ideas to become something fun, interesting and creative.

There are only a few certain wrestlers that their entrances are unique to everyone else's, that they have an auora to them and aren't just bland and sprinting to the ring, playing to the crowd and standing on the turnbuckles like everyone elses. I hope we dont get 20 Hogan's or Triple H's or Rey's tbh.

I'm doing Taker :lmao

But to be fiar the reason why I didn't mention him is because each Wrestlemania was different for him and unique, so even if we do get 10 bookers writting a Taker entrance it will each be different in their own right, you could have one do the classic Undertaker early career persona entrance with the crow and suit / tie, you could do a hybrid 2004 Undertaker with the druids coming out and Bearer, a more recent Deadman Undertaker or even the American Badass.

So you wouldn't be getting everyone doing the same thing with Taker.

I guess that's true. Undertaker is an easy one to write for because there are so many creative things you can do with that character. Would be epic to read an American Badass one, mind. I'm trying to go outside the box and just do a normal superstar but give their entrance something a bit unique and with a bit of luck, I've managed to do that. :p We'll see when I get to finish it off properly.

Best of luck to all who submit entries. Don't let writing an entrance put you off either, it's (I suppose 8*D) a nice challenge to be doing something different.

Also to Brye/KingRo/whoever is in charge, could we change it so we post it in the thread and not pm it to you guys? personally, I liked how a previous tournament was held where everyone saw what their competition was doing and what they were up against. Was fun to also see and judge your peers.

On topic, I'd like for someone to do Kurt Angle and do a ten page emphasis on his You Suck chants.

:lmao - I'd give someone the crown if they did just that.

Also, posting in a thread might be a good idea, who knows. It may, as someone else said, encourage others to get motivated or whatever.

I'm adding some just to be sure I dont miss anything but I think it's totally up to us, if you can capture the feeling of it without the ring announcer takling or anything like that, than all the credit to you.

And come to think of it I am not sure I will do Taker now, so many great choices. Hogan in his hayday' waving the flag, Shawn 1996 coming down on the zipline, Triple H on the throne at Wrestlemania 22 (i think it was that event), Macho Man, Andre, classic Kane, etc.

This seems like an interesting qualification challenge...I was thinking of using someone cause I have a pretty fun entrance idea for them, but if I end up having to write a WWE match, I'm probably going to use him in it so I'm not sure if I want to over use the character. My consider someone else if I can come up with something just as interesting for them.

Does anyone hate me for my last minute entry yet? 8*D

I'm not a fan of the 'posting it in the thread' idea. I like the way it was done last Tourney when every entry and score was posted in unison using the spoiler tags. That way, if there's a particular match/promo/entrance/whathaveyou that one wanted to see/read again, no one has to go scrolling through several pages of stuff to find it and of course, with the spoiler tags, you only read what you want and don't have to go all the way down a post to find what you're looking for.

Plus, I feel posting all the entries in their entirety gives more of a competitive feel than actually posting them individually. In a legitimate competition, you can prepare for the opponent all you want - watch tape, scout players, read analysis, etc. But when rivaling forces meet on that one particular game day, anything can happen. I kind of feel like if people post it would spoil that. And for me personally, I feel more motivated writing something that I feel has to compete with everybody rather than just who has already posted.

Oh, and since the deadline is Sept. 11, you may as well disqualify Melvis. He probably won't post until, like, Thanksgiving. #CheapHeat

No not at all.

If my opinion counts for anything - Leave it until every entry has been sent in and judged and post them all at once with spoiler tags and whatever. Adds a lot more suspense and saves a lot of shifting through entries if you want to go back later on and read a certain one or two entries. But do as you please, KingRo/Brye. (Y)

I really hope people haven't entered this for the sake of a bloody coloured username. I don't need that, as a matter of fact if I were to win, I'd reject it. I only entered this for a bit of fun and because I enjoy writing.

That and to put the so-called "King" in his place. #BiggerJobberThanStoj

Just finished my entry. :p Hope it is good enough to scrape by into the next round. :D

Also, lol Kingpin. I didn't even know about the user title reward when I entered, my reason for entering was so that if I won I'd feel I've actually accomplished something here after a bunch of decent attempts and failed attempts. :D But I love colors so that user title color change sounds nice to me. (Unless it ends up being pink...xD)

Yeah, I'll try to get a bulletpoint from each of the judges to help everyone out. That's what its all about in the end. As for the method of entry... I'm keeping it as PM entries only. It's the most fair and unpredictable way.
