Re: C3K Presents: WWE 2009 - The Fear That's In Your Eyes

The Bash
Preview

July 12, 09 - ARCO Arena; Sacramento California

World Heavyweight Championship
Steel Cage Match
Matt Hardy © vs. John Cena

~ Matt Hardy completed his dream of becoming the World Heavyweight Championship at Judgment Day, winning a Fatal-4-Way, contested between himself, his brother, Chris Jericho and the champion at the time, John Cena. It took him more than a decade, it took turning his back on all his fans, on his entire family but now Matt Hardy can say he is the top dog on SmackDown. He has one title defence under his belt, defeating John Cena, albeit under shady circumstances, as he attacked Cena before the match, beating him up enough so he could simply roll him into the ring, hit the Twist of Fate and win the match. But, that only served to enrage Cena, who defeated Kane in a number one contenders match, getting his true rematch. In the weeks leading up to The Bash, Matt would get the better of Cena multiple times, and every time Cena seemed to get one up on Hardy, the World Champion would somehow make an escape. However, this match will be contested inside a Steel Cage, which means Hardy can’t do a runner. He’s locked in with a very angry John Cena, and there is no way out.

Singles Bout
Edge vs. Kane

Ever since WrestleMania, The Big Red Monster, Kane has been on a violent rampage. CM Punk and Christian have felt the full brunt of the rampage. Kane shaved Punk’s head, but he then upped himself by setting Captain Charisma, on fire. With Christian on the shelf through injuries, his best friend, Edge, has took up the challenge of getting revenge. The Rated R Superstar, now loved by the fans, has a tough task ahead of him, as he takes on Kane tonight.

#1 Contenders Bout
~ World Heavyweight Championship ~
Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy

Chris Jericho and Jeff Hardy competed in the Fatal-4-Way at Judgment Day for the World Heavyweight Championship, and The self proclaimed Best in the World has decided it was Jeff who cost him his chance at winning the gold. Jericho attacked Jeff after Judgment Day, and in the following weeks began to trash him in interviews and in-ring segments, even at one point calling him a cancer to the WWE. Jeff, obviously, didn’t enjoy what Jericho was saying so he thought fire with fire, attacking Jericho at every opportunity and matching him on the microphone. Not only is this personal, it will also determine who will face either Matt Hardy or John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship. Jericho wants revenge against Cena for him ending his World Title reign in 2008, while Jeff wants his brother in a match because he still hasn’t gotten over Matt’s backstabbing that cost him the WWE Championship. One thing’s for sure, when these two collide, fireworks will fly.

United States Championship
Kofi Kingston © vs. R-Truth

At Judgment Day, Kofi Kingston won the U.S Title in a very controversial match, winning it in a huge gauntlet contest. R-Truth, a man who has done no wrong to Teddy Long or the fans (at the time), was put in the gauntlet, with little to no chance of retaining, and that’s just what happened, he was eliminated and Kingston took full advantage. Truth took exception to losing the title, telling Teddy Long he believes that he is the victim of a conspiracy. In the weeks leading up to The Bash, Truth was stripped of his rematch clause, which only fuelled those conspiracy thoughts, but in the end managed to get a match after defeating Vladimir Kozlov, and now he will face Kingston in a personal match for the United States Championship.

Cruiserweight Championship
Dolph Ziggler vs. John Morrison

At one time, the Cruiserweight Championship was a staple of SmackDown, providing some of the most exciting moments in the show. Now, the Cruiserweight Title is making a return, and it will be contested between two men who have battled their way to the final of the Cruiserweight Tournament. Morrison defeated two formidable opponents in Jesse and Kaval, while Ziggler defeated Gregory Helms and Chavo Guerrero. Now, these two skilled combatants will take the ring in an effort to become the first Cruiserweight Champion in a very long time.

WWE Tag Team Championships
The Hart Dynasty © vs. The Brian Kendrick & Ezekiel Jackson

The Brian Kendrick and Ezekiel Jackson defeated The Colons to become WWE Tag Team Champions at Backlash. They would then go on to defend the titles against The Lifeblood of Extreme, Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards. But then they faced the debuting Hart Dynasty, who saved Bret Hart from an assault at the hands of Jackson and Kendrick. In the main event of SmackDown, The Hart Dynasty won the WWE Tag Team Championships, on their debut, in Canada, with Bret Hart beside them. Now, Kendrick and Jackson have activated their rematch clause, and it will happen tonight.

Grudge Match
Evan Bourne w/Kelly Kelly vs. Mike Knox

Kelly Kelly and Mike Knox used to date, everyone knows that, and everyone knows how that ended. But fast forward to two thousand and nine, and it seems Mike Knox is the only person who hasn’t gotten over it. When he was drafted to SmackDown, we found him stalking Kelly backstage, who took protection from Evan Bourne. At Judgment Day, these two would compete in the U.S Title gauntlet, with Knox not only eliminating Bourne, but injuring him. Without her protection, Kelly was bullied and harassed by Knox for weeks, that was until Bourne made his much needed return, saving Kelly and the rest of the Divas from the monster. And now, these two will face off tonight, Bourne looking to defend the honour of Kelly, and Knox simply looking to injure the smaller man.

Grudge Tag Team Match
The Warriors w/AJ Lee vs. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder

The Warriors made their debut on WWE Superstars, showing off their talents before going on to compete on SmackDown. But, one team didn’t enjoy seeing a new team tear up SmackDown and Superstars, that team was former WWE Tag Team Champions, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. At first, the rivalry between the two teams was solely about competition, about proving who is the better team,. But now, it’s very personal, as Zack Ryder knocked things up a notch by attacking Daniel Bryan and Kaval’s friend, AJ Lee. The small Diva was the victim of a sit-down spinebuster at the hands of Ryder, putting her out of action for a few weeks, but she made her return on the previous episode of SmackDown, when Bryan and Kaval got some measure of revenge, but they are gunning for even more retribution tonight.

***

I know I said I'd be posting vignettes, but I decided to leave them to the actual show as hype videos. Anyway, expect the show up in the next couple of days. If anyone else wants to predict then the template is on the previous page.

Re: C3K Presents: WWE 2009 - The Fear That's In Your Eyes

Can't wait until The Bash because who knows maybe we might just have CM Punk make an appearance and CM Punk unexpectedly shows up to cash in his MITB briefcase that he won at WrestleMania 25 cashing in on either Cena or Matt Hardy to become the new World Heavyweight Champion because Punk's briefcase is inter-promotional which means he could cash in on either the WWE Champion or on the World Heavyweight Champion which means neither champion is safe from Punk

But as for The Bash pay per view itself, I cannot wait for it because it begins the road to SummerSlam

Re: C3K Presents: WWE 2009 - The Fear That's In Your Eyes

I'd like to say that this PPV was really difficult to write. Especially with my laptop playing up, as I lost a good chunk of the show. I managed to re-write the Hardy/Jericho match, but couldn't bring myself to write the ones after that which were lost, for that reason they are in recap. Anyway, I hope people can enjoy this, I for one aren't best pleased with it but I just want to move on if I'm honest.

On the bright side, I'll be getting new laptop in a couple of days so no more screw ups hopefully. Monday Night Raw is done, been done for a while, and luckily wasn't one of the files that was corrupted so that'll be up in a couple of days, as I want to move on from this PPV pretty swiftly.

I might not bother with a preview, so I'll post the prediction results at the top of Raw when it's up. Enjoy!

Friday Night SmackDown presents...
The Bash!
ARCO Arena - Sacramento, California
12th July 09

As expected, we head into the ARCO Arena where the Californian crowd are going insane, before long fireworks explode into the air from the stage, highlighting the amazing titan tron we have tonight. The camera takes a lap around the arena, the crowd trying desperately to get themselves on TV, and we see some of the unique posters that the fans have brought with them. After we take in some of the signs, we take a view of the Steel Cage that is suspended from the ceiling. We now quickly head over to the announce table where Jim Ross, in a nice suit is sat next to John Bradshaw Layfield, who is looking just as dapper.

Jim Ross:
Fifteen thousand people have packed into the ARCO Arena in anticipation of one of the biggest nights of the wrestling calendar. Good evening ladies and gentleman, I’m good ol’ J.R, Jim Ross, and I’m here beside a former WWE Champion, John Bradshaw Layfield. And this is SmackDown’s first single branded pay-per-view of the year, and it’s a big one folks.

JBL:
That it is, folks. Tonight, the World Heavyweight Championship, the richest prize in our industry will be contested inside that Steel Cage as John Cena will try his best to take the title away from Matt Hardy.

Jim Ross:
That is solid steel folks, a structure which means no one can interfere, and Matt Hardy cannot run away from John Cena. And also tonight folks, the World Heavyweight Title isn’t the only championship on the line, we will crown a new Cruiserweight Champion as Dolph Ziggler will take on John Morrison to decide who wins the vacant belt.

JBL:
Both of these competitors have fought tooth and nail to get here tonight, both are riding in on a wave of momentum after both winning their Pick Your Poison matches. I can’t call a winner in that one.

Jim Ross:
Also, the WWE Tag Team Championships, and the United States Championship will be on the line, as well as some very personal matches in the form of Evan Bourne versus Mike Knox, and The Warriors versus Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder.

JBL:
Well what are we waiting for, let’s get this party started.

Jim Ross:
Before we can do that, let’s hand it over to our Spanish Announce Team, Hugo Savinovich and Carlos Cabrera.

The cameras take a quick jaunt over to the other announce table where Hugo and Carlos welcome us to the show.

*Bell Rings*

Justin Roberts:
Your opening contest is scheduled for one fall... and is for the Cruiserweight Championship!

***HERE TO SHOW THE WORLD***

Being the first Superstar to make an appearance this evening, the crowd reaction is magnified as they begin booing very loudly as DOLPH ZIGGLER steps out from behind the curtain and onto the stage, wearing silver trunks, white boots and a pink vest, he runs his hands through his bleached blonde hair and then flicks the water away before heading down the ramp.

Justin Roberts:
Introducing first, from Hollywood, Florida... weighing two hundred and thirteen pounds... The Show Off... DOLPH – ZIGGLER!

Jim Ross:
Dolph Ziggler is a very talented WWE Superstar, he had to defeat other very talented Superstars to reach this tournament final, but has he the power and heart to go all the way and become the owner of the prestigious Cruiserweight Championship?

JBL:
He’s up against the man who gives Shelton Benjamin a run for his money in the best athlete in WWE argument so Dolph will have to be on his game tonight if he wants to best John Morrison.

Jim Ross:
Some huge names have held the Crusierweight Championship, names like Rey Mysterio, who went on to become the World Heavyweight Champion, if Ziggler can win this match, then he can’t ask for a better start to his career.

JBL:
Before Dolph Ziggler came to SmackDown in the draft, he was an afterthought on Raw, he was treated like he wasn’t a part of the roster, but he’s found a home here on SmackDown, a home where he can show off as much as he wants.

Ziggler reaches the ring, makes his way around it to the apron on the hard side, he leaps up, and begins to climb into the ring, but instead leans out, sitting on the ropes and says “Time to show off” as he grins at the crowd. Dolph finally enters the ring and climbs up the light blue ropes, tearing his pink vest off, “Cruiserweight Champion baby!”

***AIN’T NO MAKE BELIEVE***

California delivers a very solid pop, they are very hot tonight as another man who has fought tooth and nail to get to the final, JOHN MORRISON, walks onto the stage and stands in the centre, posing in slow motion as his hair is propelled backwards, apparently by magic as we can’t see the fan. He begins to walk down the ramp, wearing white, silver and gold long tights and his usual jacket.

Justin Roberts:
And introducing his opponent... from Los Angeles, California... weighing two hundred and nine pounds... The Prince of Parkour... JOHN – MORRISON!

Jim Ross:
Just like Dolph Ziggler, John Morrison came to SmackDown in the draft, after being mentored by The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. He and Shawn competed at Backlash but lost in the end due to a Shawn Michaels injury, and now he is on SmackDown, where he has the chance to be the Cruiserweight Champion.

JBL:
John Morrison is no stranger to championships. He’s a former Intercontinental Champion, a former WWE Tag Team Champion and a former World Tag Team Champion, that’s an impressive list but I think he’ll want to add Cruiserweight Champion to that.

Morrison quickly jogs up the silver steel steps, and enters the ring, before walking over to the turnbuckles and climbing up to the top. He poses again which draws a good pop from the females as he shows off his abs. Morrison then takes off his jacket and hands it carefully to a stage hand before dropping down and standing in his corner.

Cruiserweight Championship Match; Tournament Finals:
Dolph Ziggler vs. John Morrison

Charles Robinson calls for the bell and the timekeeper duly obliges, and the two combatants begin circling the ring. Each man continues to circle, the two gladiators waiting for the right moment to lock up, the crowd urges them on with cheers as they continue to circle, and eventually they run at each other like caged bulls, locking up, but Ziggler darts down, grabbing Morrison’s leg before coming out behind him, and PUSHING Morrison in the back to some “OOH’S” with Jim Ross saying “That’s some clear disrespect right there” as Ziggler runs his hands through his hair and flicks moisture at Morrison’s face.

“Okay” says Morrison as he careens forward, kicking his rival in the stomach, who keels over, the air being blown out of his stomach. He’s then the recipient of a club to the back, dropping him down to his knees, but he gets up rather quickly only to be pushed into the ropes and whipped to the other side. But Ziggler is one step ahead, sliding between the legs of Morrison, he stands up swiftly and sprints at Morrison who swings wildly, allowing Ziggler to duck and hit the ropes at the other side, but Morrison connects, square in the jaw with a standing DROP KICK! The crowd pop at the move as John looks for the early win, ONE... ZIGGLER KICKS OUT!

That was never going to get it done, Morrison knows that as he climbs to his feet, pushes Ziggler into the corner and whips him into the opposite one. The Shaman of Sexy sprints at Ziggler, who gets two feet up, right in the face off Morrison! John stumbles back a little, allowing Ziggler to explode out the corner with a couple of kicks to the stomach, and with Morrison keeled over, he runs the ropes and jumps, hitting a spinning NECK BREAKER! He doesn’t go for the cover though as the crowd boo him, he stands up, and exits onto the apron before heading to the top rope. Morrison pulls himself to his feet, and looks up, to see Ziggler soaring through the air, looking for a cross body... but Morrison ducks, and Ziggler lands right on his chest. The Show-Off looks in trouble as his face turns sour, getting to his feet, but manages to duck an attempted clothesline from Morrison, who continues running and hits the ropes, but rebounds right into a deep arm drag.

Ziggler keeps a hold of the arm, wrenching the arm, but Morrison is almost immediately back on his feet, backing Ziggler into the ropes and launching him over to the other side. The Shaman of Sexy hangs onto the ropes though when he hits them, he looks at Ziggler who decides to haphazardly sprint at Morrison, but he bends down and FLIPS ZIGGLER OVER THE ROPES... BUT HE LANDS ON THE APRON! Morrison turns around, right into a forearm from The Show-Off, he staggers away from the ropes, allowing Ziggler time, and he makes good use of that time by hitting Morrison with a SPRINGBOARD FLYING CLOTHESLINE! The crowd with disapproval but Ziggler ignores them and scrambles to hook the leg... ONE... TWO... MORRISON KICKS OUT!

A loud cheer erupts from the crowd as Morrison sits up, but Ziggler bounces off the ropes, and attempts to SMASH MORRISON’S FACE WITH A RUNNING KNEE... but he ducks, avoiding the hit. Quick enough, John rises to his feet, grabs Ziggler between the legs and rolls him up in a school boy pin... ONE... TWO... ZIGGLER ROLLS AWAY!
Both Superstars get to a standing base, and The Prince of Parkour attempts to kick his opponent in the stomach, but Ziggler catches his foot, before launching it downwards... only for Morrison to connect with a HAND STAND KICK TO THE TOP OF ZIGGLER’S SKULL! Ziggler goes down like a ton of bricks to a lot of cheers and Morrison attempts to take advantage by hooking the leg... ONE... TWO... NO!

Again, Ziggler kicks out, saving his chance at the Cruiserweight Championship. Morrison stands up, and begs Ziggler to get up, who obliges, getting to a vertical base but he manages to duck an oncoming clothesline. Morrison stops in his tracks, turns around right into a boot to the stomach from Ziggler! The Show-Off pushes Morrison back into the ropes, Irish-whips him only for Morrison to reverse, sending Ziggler sprinting over to the opposite side. He manages to hold onto the ropes though, but Morrison saw that coming, and he doesn’t give any time for Ziggler to think, instead he sprints at him and CLOTHESLINES HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE! Ziggler sells like a champ’ when he hits the mat, flopping like a fish in front of some fans who jeer him, meanwhile Morrison stands in the ring, grinning and then poses, getting a solid cheer from the crowd.

Ziggler begins to get to his feet, slowly, using the barricade as help as some fans get a pat him on the shoulders. He wildly pushes away from the barricade, turning around but sees Morrison LAUNCHING HIMSELF OVER THE TOP ROPE... CORKSCREW PLANCHA! The Prince of Parkour lands right on top of Ziggler, both men hitting the mat, Dolph taking the brunt of fall! Ross sells the action on commentary as Morrison stands up, smiling at the crowd beside him, before turning his attention back to Ziggler, pulling him to his feet and slowly sliding him back into the ring. Morrison climbs in after him and sinks down into the cover... ONE... TWO... T- NO! ZIGGLER KICKS OUT! Morrison glances at Charles who assures him it was a two count, before climbing to his feet and looking at the top turnbuckle. The Prince of Parkour exits the ring, stands on the apron and raises his hand in the air, getting a solid pop from the crowd and proceeds to climb the turnbuckles. He reaches the top and measures Ziggler who gets to his feet, turns around, and Morrison goes for a FLYING CLOTHESLINE... but Ziggler ducks, Morrison lands on his feet however... but HE SEEMS TO HAVE TWEAKED HIS KNEE!

He feels it gingerly but Ziggler senses an opportunity, he suddenly hits Morrison with a chop block to the back of the knee, taking Morrison’s leg out from under him. Dolph, like an animal, begins pounding on the leg with forearms and punches, the crowd boo him as Robinson counts to four, before Ziggler stands up and takes a breather. Charles checks on Morrison but Ziggler comes back for more, stomping on the knee no less than five times before being pulled away by the referee. Ziggler goes right back on the offensive though, pulling Morrison to his feet by his hair, and whipping him into the corner, then follows that up with A STINGER SPLASH! Morrison falls to the ground, allowing Ziggler to go for the cover, and Charles dives to the mat, beginning the count... ONE... TWO... T- MORRISON GETS HIS SHOULDER OFF THE MAT!

The crowd respond with a pop as Ziggler glares at the referee, before turning his attention back to Morrison, pulling him by his hair into a standing base. But Morrison manages to break away the arms of Ziggler, and battling back with a couple of punches, but Ziggler manages to KICK THE KNEE OF MORRISON! He falls to the mat, clutching said knee, writhing in pain as Ziggler rests on the ropes. The Show-Off grabs Morrison and pulls him into the corner, and wraps his leg around the second rope, pulling it into the ring, wrenching the knee around the rope! Morrison begins to scream out in pain, and the referee quickly counts to four, to which Ziggler stops pulling the leg.

He’s pulled away by Robinson, who shouts at him but Ziggler ignores him and walks towards Morrison, he knees him in the stomach, before hoisting him onto the top rope! Dolph takes a second, before climbing up to the second rope, grabbing Morrison by the head, he stands up on the top rope, bringing John up as well...
...
HE PLANTS MORRISON WITH A SITOUT FACEBUSTER!!

FROM THE TOP ROPE!!

Ziggler rolls away from Morrison and quickly crawls to the cover, the crowd showing their displeasure.

MORRISON KICKS OUT AT THE VERY LAST MOMENT!!

A THUNDEROUS reaction comes from the crowd as Ziggler is irate, screaming at the referee from a kneeling position. Morrison slowly moves, pushing his chest off the mat, and getting to his feet, he feels his knee but Ziggler is right on him, sprinting and kneeing him in the stomach, pushing him into the ropes and lashing his back with repeated forearm smashes. He stops and breathes for a second, regaining his composure before grabbing Morrison by the hand and Irish-whipping him only for Morrison reverse and send Ziggler on his way. The Show-Off rebounds, goes for a clothesline only to miss, and Morrison connects with a PELE KICK TO THE TOP OF THE HEAD! Ziggler falls to the mat, clutching his head as Morrison drops down into a cover... ONE... TWO... TH- NO! ZIGGLER KICKS OUT!

This match continues as Morrison crawls over to the ropes, he gets to his feet, and slowly walks over to Ziggler, kicking him in the stomach and flipping him over with a Snap mare. The Show-Off sits up, shakes off the cobwebs but Morrison SMASHES INTO HIS FACE WITH A RUNNING KNEE! The crowd GASP as Ziggler’s head falls back into the mat and he looks out of it, as Morrison quickly sinks into the cover, feeling his knee as he hooks the leg.

ZIGGLER KICKS OUT!

A GROAN OF EPIC PROPORTIONS COMES FROM THE CROWD AS MORRISON LOOKS ASTONISHED THAT ZIGGLER KICKED OUT!!

Morrison pulls himself up to his feet, using the ropes for support before grabbing Ziggler as he gets up, and whipping him into the corner, but Dolph explodes back out, swings wildly, only for Morrison to duck and plant him with A RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP WHICH ZIGGLER SELLS LIKE A PRO! He flips onto his stomach with the force of the move, and Morrison gets to his feet, he stands just in front of Ziggler before connecting with his BREAKDANCE LEG DROP! MASSIVE POP FROM THE CROWD AS HE HOOKS THE LEG!!

.........

THIS MATCH CONTINUES AS ZIGGLER SAVES HIS HOPE OF BECOMING A CHAMPION!!

Morrison looks up at the referee with hope that he got the count wrong, but Charles sticks two fingers in his face, confirming the count. He slowly crawls over to the ropes, and uses them to get to his feet, he runs his hands through his sweat laden hair, before walking over to Ziggler with a limp. Dolph is on his knees so Morrison yanks him to his feet, pushes him back into the ropes and Irish-whips him over to the other side... he rebounds and careens into Morrison with a LOW DROP KICK TO THE KNEE! Morrison face plants on the mat, and begins clutching his knee with his right hand as he pushes off the mat with his left. Ziggler measures his opponent, backing away, running his hands through his hair, waiting for the right moment... and eventually it comes as Morrison gets up, but he is keeled over which gives Ziggler a window of opportunity... to RUSH FORWARD... MASSIVE POP FROM THE CROWD AS MORRISON SHOOTS HIS ARM UP INTO THE AIR!

Ziggler goes insane at the referee, backing him into the corner and screaming at him to “DO YOUR JOB” while Robinson continues to point at his referee’s badge on his shoulder. Ziggler is done arguing though, he turns around, and sees Morrison using the ropes to bring himself up, Ziggler rushes forward and...
GOES FOR THE ZIG ZAG...
BUT MORRISON HOLDS ONTO THE ROPES!!
Ziggler’s back hits the canvas as Morrison manages to stay standing which is met with a very loud pop from the crowd. He still has his hands on the top rope, bending over and taking in us much air as he can. The Show-Off is back on his feet, holding the back off his head, and Morrison sees his chance, he jumps up, and SPRINGBOARDS OFF THE SECOND ROPE... CONNECTING WITH A FLYING CHUCK KICK TO THE JAW OF ZIGGLER! Extremely loud pop from the crowd as Ziggler hits the mat, and Morrison crawls to the cover, screwing his face up in pain of his leg, and reaches over, draping an arm over the chest of Ziggler!!

OH MY GOD! ZIGGLER KICKS OUT!

The crowd respond with a massive reaction as Morrison rolls away from Ziggler, the two athletes lying on the mat, both dazed and both exhausted. First, Morrison is the one to move, turning on to his stomach, and crawling to the ropes. He uses them to get to a standing base, and by the time he does that, Ziggler is back up. They meet in the centre of the ring and begin trading punches! ZIGGLER... BOO... MORRISON... YAY... ZIGGLER... BOO... MORRISON... YAY... ZIGGLER... BOO... MORRISON... YAY... MORRISON... YAY... MORRISON... YAY... BUT THEN ZIGGLER IN DESPERATION KICKS THE KNEE OF MORRISON ONCE AGAIN!!
The crowd shit on Ziggler for that, he was losing the punch off but used his smarts to bring the match right back in his favour.
Morrison in his own form of desperation, launches a wild punch at Ziggler to which he ducks, and then grabs his opponent from behind and plants him with an INVERTED SCOOP SLAM!! The referee checks on Morrison as Ziggler stands up, looking exhausted, J.R makes note of the fact that Ziggler hasn’t gone for the cover, saying that could be a mistake. Ziggler walks toward Morrison, which prompts the referee to back away, he has the Cruiserweight Title in his eye as he begins dropping some elbows! He connects with one, and then a second, a third, and then a fourth! The Californian crowd continue to boo this act as Morrison can’t defend himself from these sick elbow drops!
But then Ziggler stops, and screams out “SHOW OFF!” and JUMPS UP... JUMPING ELBOW DROP... NO... MORRISON ROLLS OUT THE WAY!!

The Prince of Parkour gets to his feet, just the same as Ziggler does, and kicks his opponent in the stomach and grabs him by the neck... before CONNECTING WITH MOONLIGHT DRIVE!! IT’S OVER SHOUTS J.R AS MORRISON DIVES INTO THE COVER!

!!NEW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION!!

Winner – AND NEW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION – DOLPH ZIGGLER @ 14.06

The crowd erupt as Ziggler rolls off Morrison, the referee kneels down beside him and waits for the right moment to raise his hand. While this is happening, we see SmackDown General Manager, Theodore Long, walking down the ramp with a briefcase in his right hand. He walks up the steps and enters the ring, just as Ziggler is helped to his feet, Long opens the case up and pulls out the Cruiserweight Championship, and holds it out, and Ziggler pulls it away from Long and raises it high in the air to a lot of boos.

Jim Ross:
WHAT A MATCH! These two Superstars put everything on the line tonight, for the right to be called Cruiserweight Champion, and the man that came out on top, is none other than The Show-Off, Dolph Ziggler. This young man has put everyone on notice tonight, and showed just how talented he is.

JBL:
I already knew Dolph Ziggler was talented, but to see him pull off this victory against a very experienced and skilled John Morrison is quite something. Dolph will cherish this moment for the rest of his career. Dolph Ziggler, new Cruiserweight Champion, enjoy it Dolph!

Jim Ross:
But we can’t forget about the other man in this match. John Morrison came within an inch of becoming Cruiserweight Champion, but in the end came up short.

JBL:
No one wants to be in second place, and that’s just where John Morrison is tonight, he was beat by the better man tonight.

Morrison rolls out of the ring, being helped up the ramp by Robinson, with Theodore Long following them, leaving the ring to the NEW Cruiserweight Champion, who climbs up the turnbuckle to the second rope, and raises the coveted title above his head, and shouting “MY TIME BABY! CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION”

***

Backstage, Matt Striker is stood by with the challenger to the United States Championship, R-Truth, dressed in what appears to be a white bulletproof vest and his usual black custom made jeans. The crowd respond with a barrage of heat as Striker turns to Truth.

Matt Striker:
R-Truth, tonight you have the chance to win back the United States Championship from Kofi Kingston and-

R-Truth:
Lemme’ stop you right there, Striker. T’night, I’m in a match to win back MY United States Championship belt – a championship I should never have lost. Matt, lemme’ tell you a story. It begins like this, there once was a General Manager... who went CRAZY... with power. ‘Dat GM decided to stick it to one of his most talented Superstars. ‘Dat being me, by the way.

Heat from the crowd as Striker nods along at story time.

R-Truth:
‘Dat General Manager put the United States Champion in a freakin’ Gauntlet Match... I had to take on six... SIX PEOPLE MATT!

Truth screams in the face of Striker, forcing him to take a step back.

R-Truth:
Now lemme’ jump to the end of the story... the end of the story is a very happy ending, Matt... at least... for R-Truth. The end is when I... I win back my U.S Title from Kofi Kingston.

Heat for that statement.

R-Truth:
These people Matt, they boo me... but they cheer Kofi Kingston, isn’t that crazy? If only they knew what I knew... Kingston and Theodore are in cahoots against me. I know it because I saw them... I saw them talkin’... talkin’ about me. But their friendship won’t matter t’night when I win back my U.S belt... because when I get in ‘dat ring... the eggs gonna’ meet the whisk.

With that, a wide eyed R-Truth slowly backs away from Striker, before pointing at his eyes, and then back at the interviewers.

Again, we are backstage, in a different area as it appears that Dolph Ziggler, the NEW Cruiserweight Champion is walking back from the gorilla position. He has the title slung over his shoulder, sweat dripping from his forehead but he looks very pleased with himself. He gets a lot of heat from the crowd but continues to walk, before stopping and the camera revealing the object of his view, the SmackDown Assistant General Manager, Layla. The beautiful Assistant walks up to Dolph with a smile on his face.

Layla:
Well, well. I guess congratulations are in order, Dolph.

Dolph Ziggler:
You better believe it, babe.

Surprisingly, Ziggler leans down and kisses the Assistant General Manager, Layla kisses him back and the two embrace as random people start to notice them. The two then walk away, Ziggler’s arm wrapped around the shoulder of Layla, who takes the Cruiserweight Title off Ziggler’s shoulder and holds it on her own as they leave the scene.

***

We cut back to the main arena, where J.R and JBL are sat, looking at each other.

JBL:
(grinning) Well... it’s been a good night for Dolph so far, judging by what we just saw – it might get a whole lot better.

Jim Ross:
Layla’s the Assistant General Manager, she can’t be fraternizing with Superstars, can she?

JBL:
Like you said, she’s the Assistant GM, she can do what she want. And if Theodore Long didn’t know about this little relationship... well... he does now.

Jim Ross:
Well, anyway folks, coming next is a very personal rivalry, between two teams which started out as purely about the competition, but it has descended into an all out war, with AJ Lee at the centre – have a look.

The video package begins to play, beginning with the debut of The Warriors, Daniel Bryan, Kaval and AJ Lee on WWE Superstars. After that, we skip to another episode of Superstars where Daniel Bryan takes on Finlay in a winning effort, but he is attacked after the match by Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, and Ryder “accidently” hits AJ Lee in the face. Then, we see The Warriors defeating Hawkins and Ryder on an edition of SmackDown, but they cost Kaval his place in the Cruiserweight Tournament and then proceed to threaten and then attack AJ. Finally, we see the two Superstars confronted by AJ Lee, and then chased through the arena by Kaval and Daniel Bryan.

***IN THE MIDDLE OF IT NOW***

The actions of these two over the past couple of weeks only serve to increase the amount of heat they get, but they seem to be enjoying it as CURT HAWKINS and ZACK RYDER appear on the stage, walking out from behind the curtain; wearing matching yellow trunks and matching boots to go with them. The long hair that they each had is now gone, met with a more neat spiky style. The twosome walk down the ramp, Hawkins making sure to look over his shoulder a couple of times to check they aren’t going to be blindsided.

Justin Roberts:
The following tag team contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, at a combined weight of four hundred and fifty pounds... CURT – HAWKINS AND ZACK – RYDER!

Jim Ross:
In quick order, these two men have became two of the most hated Superstars on the SmackDown roster and it all stems from what they did to Daniel Bryan and Kaval’s friend, AJ Lee. They knew they could get under Daniel and Kaval’s skin if they targeted her, and that’s just what they did, they were close to getting their just desserts on Friday, but managed to escape... there is no escaping here.

JBL:
I don’t condone violence against women, but what Hawkins and Ryder have done is pretty smart. They’ve not been able to defeat The Warriors in a straight up tag team match, nor have they in singles competition, by making AJ a prominent fixture in this match, they just might have Bryan and Kaval blinded by anger, which will only serve to help them if they can use that to their advantage.

Jim Ross:
They are former WWE Tag Team Champions, two men who were at one point under the tutelage of The Rated R Superstar, Edge. Some may say the only reason they became the champions was because of their alliance with Edge and Vickie Guerrero, but they are two talented Superstars who can go far in this business, but I do not like the way they are going about it.

The two climb into the ring and ascend the turnbuckles, they both stand on the second rope and grin at the crowd who boo them extremely loudly. They drop down, still with smile on their faces, but then...

***STRICKEN***

The smiles that were once on Ryder and Hawkins faces are now all gone as DANIEL BRYAN, KAVAL and AJ LEE walk onto the stage, the crowd reacting with a very LOUD pop as the three stop on the stage and stare at their opponents. With AJ standing in between her boys, the three scowl down at the ring, Daniel wearing his usual maroon jacket and Kaval in his own version of a jacket/outfit thing.

Justin Roberts:
And their opponents, at a combined weight of three hundred and eighty pounds, accompanied by AJ LEE... DANIEL BRYAN... KAVAL... THE – WARRIORS!

Jim Ross:
Bryan, Kaval and AJ Lee travelled all over the world together, getting to know each other, becoming good friends and in the end they made their way to the WWE.

JBL:
They’ve competed in Japan and all across Europe, honing their craft before coming here, and it shows in what they do in that ring.

Jim Ross:
They’ve impressed a lot of people with their... OH... WAIT!

Suddenly, Bryan and Kaval (having made their way half way down the ramp) sprint down to the ring, sliding into a MASSIVE pop, making a beeline for Hawkins and Ryder who do the smart thing and get the hell out of there. AJ joins her boys in the ring, as Chad Patton attempts to regain control. Eventually, it all calms down and the two teams get into their corners.

*Bell Rings*

Grudge Match:
The Warriors; Daniel Bryan & Kaval w/AJ Lee vs. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder

Right away, Daniel Bryan explodes forward, looking to get his hands on Zack Ryder, but he takes a turn and exits the ring. The crowd boo him immensely but the boos turn to cheers as Bryan slides out of the ring, and chases Ryder around the ring, and eventually Zack slides back in, as does Bryan, who ducks the clothesline attempt from Ryder, bounces off the top rope and ABSOLUTELY TAKES ZACK OUT WITH A RUNNING FRONT DROP KICK!

MASSIVE pop for that, while Ryder clutches his chest, backing away into a corner, away from Daniel, but he’s not going to let him back away for long. He tries to grab him but Ryder kicks up with his right leg, hitting Bryan in the face, he stumbles back and Ryder rushes out of the corner, but runs straight into a side kick from The American Dragon! Ryder keels over, holding his stomach, pain evident along his face as AJ smiles from ear to ear, Curt Hawkins on the other hand is shouting at his partner to do something. But Bryan doesn’t give him a chance, he pulls him into his corner, allowing Kaval to get the tag!

Kaval comes in with a waft of cheers behind him, he and Bryan look at each other for a second before Kaval whips Ryder, who rebounds right INTO A RUNNING KNEE FROM BRYAN! The momentum causes Ryder to end in a seated position, and the two warriors LASH THE CHEST AND BACK OF RYDER WITH A COUPLE OF KICKS! Ryder doesn’t know which way to fall until Patton forces Bryan out of the ring. Kaval meanwhile, pulls Ryder to his feet, and rips a couple of knife edge chops into his chest, leaving red marks where his skin used to me. Ryder backs himself into the corner because of the pain, but Kaval isn’t done with him, he Irish-whips him into the opposite corner, and then follows that up by sprinting at his opponent... only for Ryder to bend his legs, and push his arms against the underside of Kaval’s legs... PUSHING HIM OFF THE GROUND AND OVER HIS HEAD... BUT KAVAL LANDS ON THE TOP TURNBUCKLE AND MAINTAINS HIS BALANCE! The crowd POP at the sight of that while Ryder is none the wiser, Hawkins tries to tell him but it’s too late, he turns around and Kaval DIVES OFF THE TOP... CONNECTING WITH A JUMPING ROUNDHOUSE KICK FROM THE TOP ROPE! Ryder hits the mat as the crowd cheer, Hawkins putting his head in his hands as Kaval hooks the leg...

HAWKINS INTERUPTS THE COUNT!

Heat comes from the crowd as Hawkins exits back onto the apron. Patton shouts at him to stay on the apron and don’t get involved unless he’s tagged, while Daniel Bryan shouts for a tag of his own. Kaval obliges, pulling Ryder into their corner and allowing Bryan to tag his back, he takes the legs out from underneath Ryder as Daniel takes to the top rope. Bryan dives off the top... HITTING AN ELBOW DROP TO THE HEART OF RYDER... while Kaval bounces off the ropes and CONNECTS WITH A RUNNING ELBOW DROP OF HIS OWN, AGAIN TO THE HEART OF RYDER!

You couldn’t remove the grin from AJ’s face if you tried, she loves this as Ryder is being put through as much pain as possible, and so do the crowd, as they cheer Bryan on. He picks Ryder up, and plants him with a scoop slam, before bouncing off the ropes, and connecting with a running knee drop, before rolling through.

Bryan reaches down and pulls Ryder to his feet, but he POKES Daniel in the eye, removing his sight for a moment, allowing Ryder to get the tag to his partner. For the first time in the match, Hawkins is the legal man, and he makes a big impact, as he sprints at Bryan and takes him down with a THUNDEROUS clothesline! Patton dives down as Hawkins hooks the leg.

BRYAN KICKS OUT!

That was never going to get it done, but Hawkins knew that, he doesn’t complain, instead he gets up, and pulls Bryan up to his feet, he knees him in the stomach and then clubs him in the back, forcing him down to the mat, with AJ wincing at ringside. Kaval screams at his partner to get up, tapping his fingers on the turnbuckle anxiously. Hawkins stomps a couple of times on Bryan’s back, before kneeling down, putting his knee on the small of his back, reaching out and grabbing the bottom of his chin and pulling back. Bryan screams out in pain, while Ryder licks his lips on the apron, shouting “YOU IN PAIN, DANIEL?!”

Hawkins let’s go off Daniel, gets to his feet and then allows his opponent to get up. He grabs him by the arm and Irish-whips him into the corner, and follows him in but Daniel RUNS UP THE BUCKLES... AND BACK FLIPS OVER THE ONCOMING CURT HAWKINS! Gigantic pop from the crowd as Bryan hits the ropes, rebounds and smashes into Hawkins with a flying double forearm smash! Hawkins falls to the mat, clutching his face as Daniel gets up, he pulls Hawkins up and into his corner before tagging Kaval in.

Daniel keeps hold of Hawkins though and flips him over with a snap mare, then Kaval rushes forward, and flips over Hawkins, grabbing his head and connecting with a neck snap. But we aren’t done, as Hawkins begins to fall backwards from the seated position, BRYAN RIFLES A KICK OFF THE BACK... AND THEN KAVAL DOES THE SAME TO THE FACE!! Good pop from the crowd, Patton makes sure Bryan gets out of the ring as before he counts Kaval’s cover... ONE... TWO... KICK OUT FROM HAWKINS!

Groan from the crowd at the kick out there. Meanwhile, Ryder rubs his head in relief that his partner kicked out, whilst this was happening Kaval picked Hawkins up, and he pushes him into the ropes, kicking him in the stomach with a side kick. He keels over, holding his gut, and Kaval moves his arms as a karate expert would and JUMPS UP, BRINGING BOTH HIS FEET DOWN ON THE BACK OF HAWKINS!! Hawkins brings Kaval up to his feet, and whips him into the corner, he rushes in, connecting with a running clothesline, but he keeps Kaval held in place and screams “DID IT HURT?! HUH?!”, obviously the referee doesn’t know what Hawkins is talking about but rage fills Kaval as he pushes the bigger man away... and RIFLES A SLAP RIGHT IN THE FACE!!

OOH’S FROM THE CROWD AS HAWKINS FEELS HIS LIP! Kaval shouts out from the corner “DID THAT HURT, BITCH?!”, before having to defend himself against an on rushing opponent. He quickly skirts out of the ring onto the apron, allowing Hawkins to run right into the corner, he falls back a little, giving Kaval enough time to climb up the turnbuckles. Kaval steadies himself... BUT... RYDER RUNS ALONG THE APRON... AND PUSHES KAVAL OFF... AND HE CRASHES AND BURNS ON THE CANVAS! Bryan had his leg in the ring, getting ready to dive at the pin but it wasn’t needed! Hawkins spots that and shouts “DON’T GET INVOLVED, BRYAN!”, he then gets to his feet, pulling Kaval up with him, and locking in a side head lock. Kaval quickly has to find a way out, so backs Hawkins into the ropes, before attempting to force him to the other side of the ring, but Hawkins drops down to one knee, pulling Kaval down lower to the ground with him. The World Warrior has his neck pulled in all different directions, just adding to the pain, and when he tries one more time to escape, Hawkins simply flips him over, applying it on the ground now! On the apron, Ryder screams at Hawkins, saying “TAG ME IN, BRO!” and Hawkins obliges, he lets go of Kaval, and drags him into their corner, and allowing Zack to tag himself in.

Boos greet his arrival and a look of disdain comes from AJ at ring side. Ryder continues where his partner left off, pulling Kaval up to his feet and kneeing him in the stomach! Kaval bends over, feeling his stomach but Ryder bounces off the ropes, jumps over the body of Kaval and brings both his legs down on top of Kaval’s neck! Backing him all the way to the ropes, where Kaval attempts to whip him, only to be reversed... he hits the ropes... but HAWKINS KICKS HIM IN THE BACK! More dirty tactics from Hawkins, to which the crowd begin to boo heavily, while AJ looks extremely pissed at ring side.

Bryan attempts to tell Patton what just happened but it’s no use, the referee isn’t going to listen to him. Ryder takes advantage of the situation, forcing Kaval into the corner and kicking him in the stomach a couple of times, which causes him to fall into a seated position in the corner. Zack backs away, turns to Hawkins and says “Check it, bro.” Before sprinting forward, and SMASHING HIS FOOT THROUGH THE SIDE OF KAVALS FACE!! Bryan breathes a sigh of relief on the apron while Hawkins punches the turnbuckle he was leaning on. Ryder looks up at Patton, demanding to know why that wasn’t a three count, he informs him that it was simply a two, and too show him some respect. The World Warrior rolls onto his stomach, and begins to get to his feet but Ryder knees him in the stomach and grabs him by the neck, and shouts “TIME TO FINISH THIS!” and then BLOWS A KISS AT AJ! This riles the fans up with a frenzy of boos before Ryder runs forward, towards the corner, but Kaval PUSHES HIM OFF AND INTO THE CORNER! The World Warrior jogs at Ryder, looking for a corner clothesline but Ryder side steps him... only for Kaval to hop onto the second turnbuckle... and then onto the top one...

BEFORE JUMPING BACKWARDS, TWISTING IN MID-AIR AND KICKING RYDER’S HEAD OFF!

The World Warrior and Ryder lie in a heap on the floor as the fans begin clapping very loudly. Bryan hops over and over on the apron, pounding the top turnbuckle while AJ slaps the side of the ring, the fans getting louder as Kaval begins to move. But Ryder is starting to move as well, Hawkins holds his hand out, as does Bryan, with both men shouting at their partners to tag them. *CLAP CLAP CLAP* Ryder crawls a little faster than Kaval and GETS THE TAG TO HAWKINS... Winners – THE WARRIORS; Daniel Bryan & Kaval w/AJ Lee @ 12.01

Daniel keeps the hold in for a few extra seconds, before finally letting go and rising to his feet. The fans greet the end of the match with a roar of approval, on the outside Ryder is still feeling the pain of the barricade, looking on as Kaval slides into the ring. He looks over at AJ who BLOWS HIM A KISS and then joins her boys in the ring. The two Superstars, and the Diva have their hands raised by Patton, which is greeted by another pop, they leave the ring, smiles on their faces, although Kaval is still selling the beating he took in the middle of the bout.

Jim Ross:
A rivalry which began on WWE’s third show, Superstars, which ended being built into one of the most personal rivalries on SmackDown has just ended in a brutal, stiff match. Daniel Bryan and Kaval in the end, have won retribution for what Zack Ryder, and by association, Curt Hawkins did to their friend, AJ Lee.

JBL:
What a match. During the bout you could tell just how personal it was between these two, and it seemed Ryder had this match locked up, only to blow it by blowing a kiss at AJ Lee.

Jim Ross:
But in the end it was The Warriors which came out victorious, and AJ Lee got her revenge, in the end blowing a kiss of her own at the man who attacked with a spine buster.

JBL:
It all came around to bite the two of them on the ass.

The three of them walk up the ramp, Kaval and Bryan slapping a few of the fans hands before turning to face the ring where Hawkins and Ryder are licking their wounds. AJ and her boys arrive at the stage, they turn around and raise their arms in the air one last time as Zack and Curt look on, dejected.

We head backstage now, where Evan Bourne is surrounded by three beautiful Divas in the form of Kelly Kelly, Brie Bella and Maria.

Kelly Kelly:
Are you sure? You don’t have to do this. After what happened last Friday, I dunno’ what I’d do if anythin’ worse happened t’night.

Bourne hops off the production box he was sitting on and puts his hands on the shoulders of Kelly.

Evan Bourne:
Look, I’m fine. What Knox did to me last Friday was nothin’. An’ you’re wrong... I do need to do this.

Maria:
Evan’s right, Kelly, I was there, I saw what he was about to do you on SmackDown.

Evan Bourne:
Once I deal with him t’night, you won’t have to worry about him anymore. Isn’t that what you wanted?

Kelly stutters a little.

Kelly Kelly:
W-w-well... yeah but not if you end up being the one that gets hurt.

Bourne smiles at the concern being shown by KK.

Evan Bourne:
Believe me... it won’t be me that’s hurtin’ after the match. But listen... I don’t want you out there. It’s safer if you’re back here with Maria and Brie.

Brie Bella:
He’s right, Kelly.

Kelly Kelly:

Kelly gives Evan a hug before allowing him to go past and leave the area.

Maria:
Don’t worry, he’ll be fine.

Kelly seems oblivious to the words her friends are giving her.

Maria:
(turning to Brie)
Hey, where’s Nikki?

Brie Bella:
Oh, I don’t know. She text me and told me she was out with some guy.

Kelly is facing off camera where Bourne left the scene, with a look of anguish while the two other Divas continue to talk.

Maria:
Ohhhhh, any idea who?

Brie Bella:
Uh, not really, only that he’s on the SmackDown roster.

Maria:
Ahh.

Maria and Brie share a smile, telepathically saying something before Brie nods at Kelly’s back, telling Maria to do something.

Maria:
Seriously, Kelly... he’ll be alright.

Kelly finally snaps out of looking that way and turns to face Brie and Kelly.

Kelly Kelly:
Yeah... sorry. So, uh, what were you guys sayin’?

Before we can listen to the gossip that is about go on about Nikki and her “SmackDown boyfriend”, we cut away.

***

Elsewhere, we arrive in the locker room of one of the most popular Superstars in the whole of the WWE, JEFF HARDY, who’s looking into a mirror, similar to what Kane was doing on SmackDown, but this time it’s not as creepy. Instead, he’s beginning to put purple and pink face pain on. He has to smile at the MASSIVE pop he gets though, but after a couple of seconds we cut from this scene.

***

Sweeping view the Aloha Stadium, basking in sunlight.

We now cut to a beach setting where JTG and Shad are walking down the beach, both dressed in brightly coloured shorts.

Shad: Yo J’ – check out the honey’s around here.

JTG: Man I love Hawaii – j’yeah!

Shad stops in his tracks.

Shad: Hold up, man. Weren’t we supposed to be somewhere?

J’ puts his fingers to his chin, thinking it over, before SmackDown Divas Tiffany and Kelly Kelly walk by in bikinis. Cryme Tyme’s mouth actually drop at the sight.

JTG: Uh, I... I... don’t think so man.

Shad: Nah man, I definitely think we forgot somethin’.

JTG: Oh man, check this guy out.

Shad: Hold up – isn’t that? Aw man. That’s what we forgot.

The camera turns around to see none other than Vince McMahon, strutting up the beach towards the duo. He looks extremely angry, which clashes with the comical element of Vince wearing a full suit on a hot beach.

Vince begins shouting at Cryme Tyme as he walks up the beach.

Vince McMahon: YOU TWO DAMN CRIMINALS. I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU TWO EVERYWHERE!

Vince continues walking, eventually reaching them, the duo hang their heads in shame.

Vince McMahon: Who the hell do you think you are?!

Shad: Mister-

Vince McMahon: SHADUP! Now go, the Aloha Stadium, move it or YOUR FIRRRREEDDDDD!

Cryme Tyme turn on their heels and run up the beach, they start going in slow motion, like the people on Baywatch would. Vince shakes his head and then turns to face the camera. The two Divas appear on the side of the smiling Vince.

Vince McMahon: SummerSlam – the best ending you can think of.

The camera moves up, away from Vince and we are eventually in the sky, where we see The Aloha Stadium again.

Narrator: WWE SummerSlam – a four hour extravaganza. The Summer comes to an end with SummerSlam!

***DEATH GRIP***

Once we cut back to the arena, the intimidating music of none other than MIKE KNOX begins to play. The hulking figure walks onto the stage, stroking his long beard and wearing a set of black trunks and black boots. The crowd are doing their best to annoy Knox, by booing him loudly but he ignores them, he’s focused on the match and it shows in his eyes as he begins to walk down the ramp.

Justin Roberts:
The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Phoenix, Arizona, weighing two hundred and ninety three pounds... MIKE – KNOX!

Jim Ross:
This man has terrorised, not only Kelly Kelly, but also most of the SmackDown Divas division. Ever since being drafted to SmackDown from Raw, he has taken a shine to his ex-girlfriend, Kelly Kelly, but she didn’t enjoy his advances.

JBL:
Would you? Mike Knox is an extremely scary individual, there isn’t many Superstars who have the aura that he does. He strikes fear in not only Divas, but every single Superstar in that locker room.

Knox slowly walks up towards the steel steps, and rips his arm away from the grasp of a man in the crowd. The man shrinks back down into his seat before Knox finally walks up the steps, walks along the apron and steps into the ring. He doesn’t bother with posing, or bothering to climb any turnbuckle, instead he simply turns around and faces the stage, waiting for his opponent.

***BORN TO WIN***

With the sound of a plane engine beginning to play, the fans respond with quite a big pop as EVAN BOURNE jumps out from behind the curtain, rushing forward and putting his hand in the air, showing off a “peace” sign to the fans. He’s dressed in black long tights with red and white detailing, and “Air Bourne” tee covering the top half of his body. He bounds his way down the ramp, and high fives a couple of fans, but once he reaches the ring he’s all business.

Justin Roberts:
And introducing his opponent, from St. Louis, Missouri, weighing in at one hundred and sixty five pounds... EVAN – AIR – BOURNE!

Jim Ross:
Evan Bourne suffered an injury at the hands of this man at Judgment Day, while he was trying to protect Kelly Kelly from her, what some would say, stalker. He’s back now though and is looking for retribution.

JBL:
If I were Evan Bourne, I would have stayed far away from this situation, he’s got himself involved in this strange thing between Knox and Kelly Kelly, and it’s only served to get him hurt. We all saw what Knox did to Bourne last Friday, but this time there won’t be any referees, Arn Anderson or Ricky Steamboat to save him from that monster.

Despite the negative attitude of JBL, the crowd are still going to support Bourne in his endeavour of saving Kelly from this man. He keeps his eyes locked on Knox as he climbs onto the apron, and then jumps over the top rope, before heading to the corner and rising to the top. He raises his hand in the air, once again showing the “peace” sign before stepping down and waiting for Jack Doan to call for the bell.

Grudge Match
Evan Bourne vs. Mike Knox

With the bell rung, the crowd cheer the beginning of the bout, but it’s a slow start as Bourne takes his time exiting the corner, while Knox simply grins from the other side. Eventually, the two of them leave their corners, and begin circling the ring, after a couple of seconds they both rush forward, locking up but Knox shows his power right away by LAUNCHING BOURNE HALF WAY ACROSS THE RING WITH A PUSH!
Bourne is quick in getting back to his feet though, looking at the grinning face of Knox opposite him. They go to lock up again... but this time Bourne ducks and comes out behind Knox, he then lashes a kick to the side of the leg! Knox turns around on one leg, and Bourne takes advantage by kicking the other one. Knox stumbles backwards, into the corner, holding his legs, doing his best to sell the small kicks.

Evan follows him in, but Knox reaches up and PIE FACES HIM... and again Evan is pushed half way across the ring. But Evan is back on his feet immediately, and sprints at Knox, looking for a big splash, but Knox moves out the way and Bourne lands hard on the turnbuckle! Mike immediately bounces off the ropes and goes for a powerful clothesline... but Bourne ducks... and then hits the ropes himself, the two men run at each other, but Bourne slides underneath the legs of Knox and then drop kicks the back of his opponent! Propelling Knox forward, down onto the second rope, neck first!

Knox gets up quickly though, holding his throat and turns around... RIGHT INTO A LEAPING KNEE TO THE CHIN! AND HE STUMBLES BACK... FALLING THROUGH THE ROPES TO THE GROUND BELOW! The back of his head hits the mat which draws some cringes from the sound of the impact. The camera focuses on Bourne, who grabs the top rope, and waits for Knox to get to his feet.
Knox finally gets his bearings, he rubs some feeling back into his head and then gets to his feet... but then Bourne pulls back on the rope... launching himself onto the top one... and CONNECTING WITH A SPRINGBOARD SHOOTING STAR PRESS!! KNOX GOES DOWN WITH BOURNE ON TOP OF HIM WITH J.R GOING MENTAL AT RINGSIDE.

“HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT”

Bourne rise to his feet, smiling from ear to ear and launches a fist into the air, showing off that “peace” sign once again.

Evan Air Bourne struggles to get the big man back to his feet as we get replays of the SSP to the outside. Once the replays conclude, Bourne has Knox rolling into the ring, and he quickly follows, sliding in after him, and crawling to the cover.

He rebounds, ducks a wild clothesline, and hits the ropes again, running at Knox but this time ducking a back elbow, AND again he hits the ropes... but this time he REBOUNDS RIGHT INTO A BIG BOOT! Groans from the crowd as Evan hits the mat, holds his face in his hands while Knox walks around his body.

He drops down into a cover, ONE... TWO... KICK OUT! Knox climbs up to his feet, pulling Bourne up with force, and then LAUNCHES HIM INTO THE AIR AND ACROSS THE RING! The crowd boo the throw but Knox continues his assault, walking over to the corner where Bourne is slumped in, and puts his knee in the face of Bourne. Squishing his face in, and Jack Doan has to count to four before Knox takes his knee out of Evan’s face.
Knox pulls Bourne up to his feet again, and then Irish-whips him into the opposite corner, with extreme force, so Bourne goes into the corner, chest first, he staggers back out but Knox SMASHES INTO THE BACK OF BOURNE WITH A CLOTHESLINE TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD!! Bourne hits the mat with some huge force, while Knox strokes his beard, walking around Bourne’s body, grabbing his legs and pulling him into the middle of the ring, dropping down and hooking the leg.

EVAN GETS HIS SHOULDER UP!

Knox isn’t worried though about the kick out, he knows he’s in complete control as he calmly stands up and pulls Evan up as well. He pushes him back into the corner, and then LASHES A OPEN PALMED SLAP TO THE CHEST OF BOURNE! He clutches his chest which is a little red now, but Knox grabs him by the arm and whips on over to the other side. Bourne goes back first into the corner... Knox sprints forward, and jumps up... BIG SPLASH... no... Evan side steps the big man and quickly runs the ropes as Knox staggers back into the middle. Bourne sprints straight at him, but Knox HOISTS HIM UP INTO THE AIR... AND PLANTS HIM WITH A SIT-DOWN SPINEBUSTER!!

The ring shakes with the impact, and Knox takes advantage, hooking the inside leg and leaning his back on the chest of his opponent.

BOURNE KICKS OUT!

A good pop greets the kick out but Knox ignores it and forcefully pulls Bourne to his feet, and proceeds to smash his forearm of his back a couple of times. Evan stumbles over to the ropes, where Knox knees him in the stomach, turns him around and forces his neck down onto the second rope. Knox presses his knee into the back of his opponent’s neck, forcing Bourne’s neck down onto the second rope! The camera man on the outside gets a close up of Bourne’s face, struggling to get any hair in as Knox snarls down at his opponent. Eventually, Jack Doan has to count to four, forcing Knox to let go of the choke hold and backs away from his opponent.

The fans respond with a series of boos as Knox scans the arena, as Bourne catches his breath. Mike pulls him up from the rope and kicks him in the stomach, before whipping him into the corner, he follows him in and NAILS HIM WITH A HUGE SPLASH! Bourne falls to the floor, the air driven out of him. The monstrous figure of Knox turns and exits onto the apron, and climbs up to the top rope, it’s some sight, seeing that huge man on the top rope. He steadies himself and then suddenly GOES FOR HIS FINISHER... THE DIVING LEG DROP!!

BUT BOURNE ROLLS OUT THE WAY TO A HUGE POP!!

Knox winces as pain sears through his thighs, and he eventually pulls himself to his feet, and Bourne is up as well, he runs at his opponent, ducking a wild clothesline, hitting the ropes at the other side AND GOING FOR A CROSS BODY... BUT KNOX STANDS HIS GROUND, NOT MOVING AN INCH SO BOURNE SIMPLY FALLS BACK OFF MIKE AND LANDS ON THE MAT!! He holds his side as he gets up, but this time its Knox who runs the ropes... AND THIS TIME HE CONNECTS WITH A CROSS BODY OF HIS OWN... TAKING BOURNE OUT OF HIS BOOTS WITH THE FORCE!! He lands on top of Bourne, all of that near three hundred pound body on top as Doan begins to count!

The air is being squeezed out of Bourne’s body, and he’s stuck in this hold for a good thirty seconds before he begins to fight out. Moving his hands out wide, and then bringing them, slapping both sides of Knox’ head! Bourne is dropped from the position, while Knox staggers a little, so Evan bounces off the ropes and NAILS KNOX WITH A RUNNING LOW DROP KICK!

This takes Knox down, but he’s quickly back on his one knee, leaning his arms on the other leg, so Bourne again bounces off the ropes and RUNS INTO KNOX WITH A RUNNING ENZUIGIRI!! Knox hits the deck and Bourne quickly goes for the cover!

Winner – Evan Bourne @ 8.21

The crowd respond with a big pop as Evan Bourne rolls off Knox’s stomach, rolling into the centre of the ring before being helped to his feet, then having his arm raised in victory. He climbs one of the turnbuckles and gets another good pop.

Jim Ross:
It seemed as though Mike Knox had this match under complete control, but the quickness of Bourne stole the match from under Mike’s grasp. Bourne has quelled the monster which has inflicted terror into the heart of Kelly Kelly for the last couple of months.

JBL:
Mike Knox had this match, J.R, he had this match won but Evan showed us how tough he is, and how big of a heart he has with this huge win in his career. Mike will be extremely disappointed he never put this away when he had the chance.

Bourne rolls out of the ring and backs up the ramp, but when he reaches the top of the ramp, he’s met by Kelly Kelly who wraps her arms around him, hugging him as Knox looks up from the ring, then slumps back, holding his stomach.

Backstage, we video feed off the locker room, where the World Heavyweight Champion is sat on a steel chair, he gets a lot of heat as he stares down at the big gold belt.

***

We now get a video package, hyping up the next match, Jeff Hardy versus Chris Jericho to decide who faces either Matt Hardy or Jeff Hardy at Summerslam for the World Heavyweight Championship! It begins with Jericho attacking Hardy on the SmackDown after Judgment Day, before continuing on to his infamous “cancer promo” about Jeff. Then, the video focuses on the hatred between the two, as they battle and brawl over the coming weeks before Theodore Long makes this match. And then finally, we see the verbal confrontation that they had on the final episode of SmackDown.

***

***BREAK THE WALLS DOWN***

Pyro shoots off from the stage and the crowd immediately begin pouring the heat down on the man who walks out from behind the curtain, black and purple ring gear on, CHRIS JERICHO. The Best in the World walks down the ramp, slowly, ignoring the fans and keeping his eyes set on the ring.

Justin Roberts:
The following contest is scheduled for one fall... and will determine who faces the World Heavyweight Champion at Summerslam! Introducing first, from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, weighing in at two hundred and twenty seven pounds... CHRIS – JERICHO!

Jim Ross:
Some might say that Chris Jericho in the recent weeks has went too far in regards to his words about his opponent tonight, Jeff Hardy.

JBL:
Too far? Please, this is professional wrestling, Jeff gets his chance tonight to get some retribution for those words and not only that, if he does win, he gets a World Heavyweight Championship shot at Summerslam!

Jericho walks up the stairs before stepping into the ring and then stands in the centre, slowly looking into the distance.

***NO MORE WORDS***

MASSIVE reaction, consisting of huge cheers as JEFF HARDY high steps out onto the stage, the arena falling into a shade of purple. Dressed in his usual black jeans and black tank top, arm sleeves aplenty. He walks on down the ramp, slapping hands with nearly everyone on the left side, and then goes back and does the same on the right.

Justin Roberts:
And his opponent, from Cameron, North Carolina, weighing in at two hundred and fifteen pounds... JEFF – HARDY!

Jim Ross:
One of, if not the biggest Superstar on SmackDown – Jeff Hardy goes into this match with the goal to get his hands on a title match, hopefully against his brother.

JBL:
John Cena may have something to say about that... on both counts. But I do agree with you, Jeff Hardy has shot up in the views of these fans, ever since his WWE Championship win last year.

Hardy climbs into the ring, by passing Jericho and climbing up the turnbuckle, he poses for the fans before dropping down and waiting for Scott Armstrong to call for the bell.

#1 Contender Match – World Heavyweight Championship

Armstrong has to intervene, pulling Jericho away from Hardy, but Jeff is back on his feet in a flash, and TACKLES JERICHO TO THE MAT!

The crowd are loving this as the two of them roll out of the ring, underneath the bottom rope. Hardy lands on with Jericho on top of him so he takes the brunt of the fall, which allows Jericho to get to his feet. The former Undisputed Champion walks away with his back to Jeff, while he pulls himself to his feet, and when he does, he sprints at Jericho – but it’s like he had eyes in the back of his head! He spins around at the right moment, side stepping Hardy and then pushing him INTO THE STEEL RINGPOST!!

Right from the beginning it’s a hard hitting contest as Jericho climbs on top of Jeff, rifling more fists into his fore head, eventually he stands up and breaks the referee count, sliding in and out. He pulls Jeff up to his feet and SMASHES HIS FOREHEAD OFF THE TOP OF THE BARRICADE!

More boos but Jericho simply cups his hand to his ear, instigating even more heat from these loud fans here tonight. He pulls Jeff to his feet and drags him around the ring, and reaches the announce table, but smashes his head off the apron! He uses this break in the action to break the count one more time before pulling Jeff up and attempting to hit his head off the announce table... but Jeff sticks his hands out, blocking the shot... and THEN DOING IT TO JERICHO, HIS HEAD BOUNCING OFF THE TOP OF THE TABLE!

Jeff falls into a seated position in the corner, holding his crimson chest and breathing heavily, while Jericho continues to gloat above him. He lowers his boot into the throat of Hardy, choking the life out of him before Armstrong steps in.
Hardy tries to catch his breath but he’s yanked to his feet and propelled into the opposite corner, he stumbles out into the centre of the ring where Jericho grabs him and sends him into another corner. Jericho walks towards him but Hardy fights back with a kick to the stomach, then a punch to the head, pushing Jericho back towards the ropes. The crowd got an eyeful there as Jeff gets up through sheer adrenaline. He walks around to the next side of the ring, and looks at Jericho getting to his feet, and hops onto the barricade... RUNNING ALONG IT... AND LEAPING... HITTING A FLYING CLOTHESLINE!

Jeff tries desperately to pull him down, and he eventually manages that feat... but THE CAMERAS CATCH JERICHO PULLING THE RING POST COVER WITH HIM! The referee hasn’t seen that as he begins counting!

JERICHO ROLLS AWAY!

THIS MATCH CONTINUES BUT ARMSTRONG STILL HASN’T NOTICED THE EXPOSED TURNBUCKLE!!!!!!

The two men get to their feet at the same time, and they run at each other, Jeff ducking a wild clothesline and hitting the ropes, and he goes for a FLYING CROSS BODY... BUT JERICHO DUCKS AND JEFF HITS THE MAT FACE FIRST! Jericho gets up and points at his head, riling up the crowd into a frenzy of heat as Jeff rolls onto his back. Jericho sees his chance, he hops over Hardy, runs at the ropes and then leaps onto the second rope... GOING FOR A LIONSAULT...
BUT HARDY ROLLS AWAY!
Jericho hits the mat chest first, which draws some cheers from the crowd here tonight. Both men are now down and Armstrong begins counting, but only gets to four as Hardy climbs up to a standing base. He pulls Jericho up and throws him into the corner, opposite the one without a buckle cover. He lashes a knife edge chop off Jericho’s chest then begins laying into him with kicks to the stomach, over and over, drawing the attention of the referee who counts to four, stopping Jeff from going a tad too far. Hardy backs away, having a small conversation with Armstrong as Jericho falls into a seated position. Jeff sees an opportunity so he walks back over, grabs the two top ropes, and jumps up, COMING BACK DOWN AND HITTING A DROP KICK TO THE FACE OF JERICHO!!

Jeff rolls away and then pulls Jericho out of the corner, going for the cover!

Jeff looks up to see two fingers in his face from Armstrong, he sits on his knees, looking around the arena for a moment. While this was happening, Jericho rolls onto his back and makes his way into the corner again, opposite the exposed corner. Jeff grabs him by the arm, and attempts to Irish-whip him into the opposite turnbuckle, and JERICHO RUNS RIGHT INTO... NO... HE PUTS HIS HANDS UP ON THE ROPES, STOPPING HIMSELF FROM RUNNING INTO THE METAL BUCKLE! JEFF IS HOT ON HIS TAIL THOUGH... AND JUMPS, LOOKING FOR A SPLASH TO THE BACK... BUT JERICHO SENSED IT COMING... SIDE STEPPING HIM AND HARDY LANDS RIGHT ON THE BUCKLE... CHEST FIRST!
Jeff stumbles back, right into the clutches of Jericho, who rolls him up from behind in a school boy!

Winner – Chris Jericho @ 15.03

IMMENSE heat fills the ARCO arena as Jericho swiftly rolls away from Hardy, and exits the ring before falling on his ass on the ramp as Jeff begins to realize what just happened!

Jim Ross:
That no good son of a- He stole one!

JBL:
A stroke of genius from Chris Jericho!

Jericho gets to his feet, backing up the ramp with a sly grin on his face, while Hardy attempts to plead his case to Scott Armstrong, even pointing at the exposed turnbuckle, but the referee says he will not change the result.

***MACMILITANT***

We suddenly get a reaction of hope, as THEODORE LONG makes his way onto the stage, wearing a horrible brown and black striped suit. Jericho hears the music and the grin is wiped away as he turns to face the stage, as Jeff looks up from the ring.

Theodore Long:
Now hold on a minute, playas!

Jericho screams “NO!” in frustration.

Theodore Long:
Jericho, don’t think for one second you’re gonna’ get away with that. Not on my watch, playa. Now referee, I want you, right now... to RESTART THE MATCH!

Armstrong does as he’s told, as Jericho screams up at Long, but then he’s suddenly attacked from behind BY JEFF HARDY!!

Hardy pulls him by the hair, back down the ramp, and slides him right back into the ring, drawing a huge pop from the crowd!

#1 Contenders Match – World Heavyweight Championship
Chris Jericho vs. Jeff Hardy
(Cont.)
The action continues with Jericho quickly getting to his feet, but Jeff takes him right back down to the mat, getting on top of him and laying into him with multiple punches! The crowd are electric as Armstrong has to pull Jeff off, but he pushes past, getting back on top, and continuing to punch the hell out of Jericho. Armstrong counts up to four this time, and this time Jeff climbs off, ripping off his top in the process and then throwing it out of the ring to some screaming fans!

Jeff pulls Jericho to his feet, hooking his arm underneath the chin, before reaching out to the side with his free arm and screaming out to the masses before... GOING...

FOR TWIST OF FATE...

BUT JERICHO SPINS OUT!

Jericho pushes Jeff away, he hits the ropes and manages to duck a wild punch from Jericho, he stops in his tracks, turns on his heels and kicks Jericho in the stomach AND GOES FOR ANOTHER TWIST OF FATE...

J.R practically loses his voice at ringside as he hypes up the biggest kick out of the night so far. Jeff looks up at the referee in disbelief, the crowd in a mixture of marking out for the kick out and their hatred for Jericho, but Jeff simply gets a two count sign thrust in his face. He slowly climbs to his feet, and Jericho still hasn’t moved, so he looks around the arena before exiting onto the apron. He grabs the top turnbuckle, and then looks out to the crowd, and roars out, before slowly climbing up, getting his bearings and he GOES FOR HIS SWANTON BOMB!!!

IT HITS!

Winner – Jeff Hardy @ 19.03

Exhaustion. Both men don’t move an inch for a couple of seconds, but eventually Jeff rolls off Jericho, but still doesn’t get to his feet. The referee waits for him as Jericho rolls out of the ring. Jeff finally rises to his feet, getting a MASSIVE pop from the crowd as he does so. He slowly climbs the turnbuckle, and makes the universal title sign across his stomach.

***

After the long match, we cut backstage where Josh Matthews is waiting with a microphone in his hands. He introduces his guests as the WWE Tag Team Champions, The Hart Dynasty, accompanied by Natalya. Matthews asks them their thoughts and strategy heading into the title defence later tonight, but gets told that they won’t reveal their strategy. However, they did say that they intend on defending their championships, as they’ve only held them for a couple of weeks and because they won’t to disappoint this man... at that point, Bret Hart walks into the fray and informs Matthews that he will be accompanying them tonight.

***

We swiftly cut to another backstage area, where a sweaty Chris Jericho is making his way through a hall way. He’s obviously frustrated, and bumping into the SmackDown General Manager, Theodore Long didn’t help his mood, as he got into a verbal argument with the GM on the re-start of the bout. The argument was cut short though, as a random worker appeared, urging Teddy to follow him as they have a “situation”. The cameras follow, leaving Jericho to lick his wounds, and we find various jobbers looking on as medical staff are attending to... John Cena! Long asks what the hell happened, but none of the jobbers can answer him, meanwhile the medics help Cena up, and inform Teddy they need to take him to the medical room to assess if he can compete tonight.

United States Championship
Kofi Kingston defends against R-Truth

As soon as the ring bell was rung, R-Truth exploded from the corner, catching the United States Champion off guard, running straight into him and pushing him back into the corner. The recent change in Truth’s mental state shows as he goes berserk, lashing forearms off the back of Kofi Kingston. His wet hair swinging from side to side, eyes bulging and teeth snarling, it makes for quite the sight as the referee has to step in and pull Truth away. The ref tries to calm him down, but R-Truth side steps him and makes a beeline for Kingston, but his over eagerness cost him as Kofi pulling himself out of the corner, spearing his opponent to the ground and now it was his turn to cause some damage to his opponent. The fiery start gets the crowd on their feet, but also gets the referee irritated, he pulls Kingston off, trying to regain control of this match.

It works for the most part, as it evolves into a more traditional wrestling match, with Truth taking control after the opening flurry of action, taking the fight to Kofi, looking to regain the United States Title. Truth looked in control for most of the middle part of the bout, the crowd letting him know how they feel about him, but he simply ignores them and focuses on his opponent. Kingston made a comeback though, but it was in vain as Truth countered a flying cross body with a drop kick to the flying U.S Champion. This false comeback only served to get the crowd more on R-Truth’s back, but he soaked the negativity in, embracing his new persona.

The ending of the bout came about, when Truth was getting a little careless, probably over confident after his success so far in this bout. But Kingston took advantage of his opponents apparent carelessness by fighting back, and going about his general routine, hitting a variety of hard hitting, high flying moves, eventually hitting the Boom Drop for a near fall. He set up for Trouble in Paradise after this, but Truth ducked the spinning kick. He utilized a kick off his own now, right in the stomach, before hitting the ropes and attempting the Corkscrew Scissor Kick, but Kingston managed to get out the way and Truth’s ass hit the mat. Kingston took advantage by tying Truth up, and rolling him into a cover, where he retained his championship!

Winner and STILL United States Champion – Kofi Kingston @ 8.32

Kingston quickly rolls out of the ring, falling onto the steep ramp and catching his breath, as his opponent, R-Truth looks up in astonishment. The referee fetches the United States Title and puts it in the hands of Kingston, who manages to get to his feet and raise the title above his head, much to the annoyance of the man in the ring. We hear him shouting about fast counts.

Backstage, we see Jeff Hardy getting congratulated by various superstars, he graciously thanks them before walking on towards his locker room, but he turns a corner and stops in his tracks as the World Heavyweight Champion, Matt Hardy is standing right in front of him. There is a roar of anticipation as the two brothers, two rivals are staring at each other, neither one about to give any signs of backing off. It’s Matt that breaks eye contact first, looking at the big gold belt on his shoulder, Jeff follows his gaze, looking at the belt as well before Matt looks up, and tells him that he should take a good look, soak it in, because it’s the closest he’ll get to the World Title. This gets under the skin of Jeff, who takes a step forward, and the two are nose to nose, but before Jeff can say anything, the two are interrupted by Theodore Long! He tells them that he needs to talk to Matt, so Jeff – with a long stare at Matt – backs off. Once he’s gone, Long flat out asks Matt if he had anything to do with the attack on John Cena. Of course, Matt said no, and before Long could question him more, Hardy quickly left.

WWE Tag Team Championship
The Hart Dynasty w/Natalya & Bret Hart defend against The Brian Kendrick & Ezekiel Jackson

With Bret Hart in attendance, the crowd were on point in this match, making their voices heard, chanting the name of The Hitman, as he watched Tyson Kidd and Brian Kendrick start the match off for their respective tag teams. The two smaller men in the match began with a flurry of chain wrestling, but it was Tyson Kidd who won that mini-battle, to the delight of Natalya and one of the best wrestlers ever, Bret Hart. Kendrick managed to create some separation and tagged in the big half of their tag team. Ezekiel Jackson entered the match but didn’t get a chance to tangle with Kidd, as he done the smart thing and tagged in their own big man, David Hart Smith. The two bulls met in the centre of the ring, but it was Jackson taking control, showing his strength to the dismay of the fans.

This match went the route of the standard WWE tag team bout, with Jackson working over David Hart Smith, but he eventually got a tag to Kidd. But Kidd fell to a numbers game, as Kendrick made his presence felt from the ring apron, distracting him before Jackson bulldozed over him. Jackson and Kendrick utilized quick tags, keeping Kidd away from his tag team partner, and this continued for a while, with Bret and Natalya getting more frustrated. Kendrick locked Kidd in a Boston Crab, looking right in the direction of Bret, as he put Kidd through immense pain. But Kidd fought to the ropes and grabbed the bottom one. Kendrick backed away, but then turned on his heels, and sprinted at the ropes, hitting a baseball slide to the face of Bret!

The heat came in a huge whirl of an explosion. Smith tried to get his hands on Kendrick but the referee held him back as Kendrick simply grinned. He turned his attention back to Kidd who was getting to his feet, and surprised Kendrick with a jumping kick to the temple! Then, a few seconds later, the hot tag was made, but Kendrick got the tag to Jackson. The two big men met in the centre of the ring, with Smith ducking a clothesline and then hitting a massive big boot! He looked to pounce on the momentum, pulling Jackson up and teeing off on the big man, but Kendrick got involved – jumping on Smith from behind, but David simply shrugged him off. At that point, Kidd was back in the match, and he tried to clothesline Kendrick over the top rope but he ducked and Kidd went tumbling over. But Smith was right there, and he completed the job, but Kendrick landed on his feet! With Bret Hart standing a few feet away, Kendrick let himself get distracted and got in Bret’s face, whilst the referee was distracted with Smith trying to put Jackson away. Suddenly, to a gigantic pop, Bret smashes a right fist into the chin of Kendrick, sending him sprawling. This distracted Jackson just long enough for Smith to take advantage, showing brute strength by hauling his opponent onto his shoulders and connecting with a running power slam for the pin.

Winner and STILL WWE Tag Team Champions – The Hart Dynasty @ 9.03

A big pop rises up as Bret Hart stands over Kendrick, while Smith is joined by Kidd and Natalya in the ring. After a few seconds, the old timer joins them, and helps them celebrate. Kidd hands his championship to Bret, in a show of respect, and he raises it up for all to see before giving it back to Kidd.

***

Backstage, Theodore Long is outside the medical room, waiting anxiously for some news. The door opens and John Cena steps out to a strong pop, holding his stomach, despite the doctor trying to get him back. Long asks what’s going on and the doctor explains that John can’t compete tonight, as he’s received too much damage to his ribs. But John, ever the trooper, insists he’s fine, telling Teddy that there is no way he will let Matt get away with this and he will compete with or without the doctors permission. Without giving Teddy a chance to reply, John walks off, wincing as he goes.

Edge vs. Kane

The referee rang for the bell and the two combatants began to circle. Kane stopped in his tracks, and begin laughing for some odd reason, Edge looked at Kane with a peculiar expression before exploding forward, but he runs right into a knee to the stomach. Kane pushes Edge back into the corner, holding him in place as he whispered that he enjoyed what he did to Christian. The referee counted to five and Kane had to back away, but Edge wasn’t about to let him, he rifled a slap right across the cheek of The Big Red Monster. That was a bad move as Kane then went on a rampage, taking complete control of the bout and showing why he is one of the most dangerous men on SmackDown.

Despite the ravenous beast pounding on him, and bullying him around the ring, Edge kept fighting. He would get a bit of offense in but Kane would shut him down in a hurry. The fans kept on Edge’s side though, urging The Rated R Superstar to defeat the man that tortured his best friend. But even though Edge has as much as heart as anyone in that locker room, Kane was still too powerful for him. He continued to work over Edge, weakening him for the final blow, and at some points even stopping to talk to himself. Edge took advantage of one of these opportunities, getting some quick offense in, even getting a couple of near falls but Kane continued to power out, and continue to put Edge on the back foot.

But towards the end of the match, Kane had Edge locked in a sleeper hold. The Rated R Superstars face turning a horrible colour, but with the help of the fans, and with the image of his best friend being burned alive in his head, he fought up with all his strength. He broke out of the sleeper hold, and went on a little rampage of his own, beating Kane down and showing just how ruthless he can actually be. Kane seemed somewhat shocked by this, as he even backed up, cowering away from the shots from The Rated R Superstar. Edge looked to have the match in hand, despite all the beatings he’s took from Kane, he seemed to have the match won and the crowd could sense it.

Edge was in the opposite corner to his opponent, who was on the ground but nearly on his knees. The fans knew what was happening, and they rose to their feet, and so did Kane, who turned around, and managed to dodge the spear attempt! Edge went shoulder first into the steel ring post, leaving Kane to pull him out and get a near fall. Kane would then set up for the Choke Slam, and he even lifted Edge up, but The Rated R Superstar broke the grip, landed on his feet, and hit the ropes, hitting a spear from nowhere, and picking up the win.

Winner –Edge @ 11.05

Edge has done it! He’s toppled the monster! The Rated R Superstar rolls out of the ring, relieved to be named the victor. In the ring, Kane begins to come too, he looks on as Edge has his hand raised in victory.

***

Suddenly, the live feed turns to static. This continues for a few moments before return to the PPV, and in the ring, we see a single rose, lying in the centre of the ring. Kane is still there, and he looks at the rose from the corner, looking destroyed over something.

Steel Cage
World Heavyweight Championship

Matt Hardy defends against John Cena

As soon as the bell rung, a smile appeared on the face of Cena, despite his injuries he still was in good spirits, because as he said “You’ve got nowhere to run” but Matt was defiant, saying he had no intention of running. The two alpha males locked horns in the centre of the ring, but Matt kneed Cena in the stomach, targeting the ribs early. The crowd booed this tactic, but obviously Hardy didn’t care, instead he clubbed the back and from then kept Cena on the mat for a minute, continuing to hit him in the back and knee him in the side. He eventually pulled Cena up, and attempted to throw Cena into the steel cage, but John turned the tables, swivelling and propelling Matt, head first right into the steel cage!

Matt was in trouble now, as an irate Cena dived on Matt, connecting with multiple punches. The referee couldn’t do anything obviously, so he just let it go, and Hardy had to reach out to the ropes, and pull himself out from underneath Cena. He pulled himself up so he was in between the ropes and the cage, Cena walked over to him, but as he went to grab him, Matt dropped down, grabbed the front of Cena’s shorts, and pulled Cena towards him, his head smashing of the steel!

Matt now took control, continuing to work over the ribs, even bringing Cena up into a fall-a-way slam position, but then running him straight into the steel! With Cena down and out for the time being, Matt turned and began to climb the cage to huge boos. He got half way up before Cena got to his feet, grabbing Matt’s foot and pulling it away, so Matt landed groin first right on the top rope! This got a strong pop, and Cena tried to take advantage, by pulling Matt off the ropes, and into the centre of the ring and beginning to work on Matt.

But Matt took advantage again, poking the right eye of Cena, creating some separation and connecting with a running jumping clothesline. Matt again, went to the cage and began climbing, but Cena was back up, and again grabbed the leg, pulling it away, but this time Matt pushed himself away from the cage, only to land in the grasp of Cena, who even with his injured ribs, managed to hoist him onto his shoulders, looking for the Attitude Adjustment, but Matt reached out and grabbed the top rope. Cena tried to pull him away, but then decided against it, throwing him forward, face first into the steel!

More action came thick and fast, with Cena in control, he showed off a more ruthless side by using the cage, even raking Matt’s face off the steel. But Matt got back into the match, by suddenly kicking Cena in the groin!

The crowd booed the hell out of that dirty move, but again, Matt didn’t care. He started off where he left off before Cena’s outburst, working over the back of Cena. After he was happy with his work, he turned to the cage again, and began to climb, but he saw Cena getting up, so he turned around, feet on the top rope, and dived towards him, but Cena caught him in mid-air, hoisting him onto his shoulders and connecting with the Attitude Adjustment! The crowd pop massively as Cena struggles to hook the leg, the referee counts, and the seconds ticking by before Matt kicks out!

Cena looks up at the referee in astonishment. He slowly gets up and asks the referee for re-assurance. Cena turns back to Matt, and pulls him up, Matt is out on his feet, as Cena pulls him into the corner. Cena climbs up onto the second rope, and brings Matt with him, hoisting him onto his shoulders again! He’s about to go for a Super Attitude Adjustment, but Matt has the smarts to grab the cage, and pull himself up, away from his opponent. The crowd boo hugely as Matt is at the very top. But despite having dodgy ribs, Cena pulls himself up again, the two Superstars sitting on the top of the cage.

The two begin to trade blows, in the classic yay-nay but on top of the cage! Then something amazing happens, something which shocks the arena. Cena and Matt, still punching each other, begin to stand up, it’s a little awkward but the two manage it, still hitting one another. Cena suddenly reaches down, trying to pull Matt onto his shoulders, but Matt puts all his weight into stopping himself from being lifted up. Suddenly, Matt punched the stomach of Cena, he kneeled over and Matt sensed his opportunity, and despite the dangers, he roared out... and THEN HIT A TWIST OF FATE... FROM THE TOP OF THE CAGE!

Massive reaction from the crowd, loud holy shit chants accompany J.R going mental on commentary. The two men seem out of it, and the referee begins to check on them, he’s obviously worried but he sees a glimmer of life in one of them, and that man drapes an arm over the chest of his opponent. The referee counts, and it’s a three count! Matt retains his championship!

Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion – Matt Hardy @ 16.17

Oh my god, Matt Hardy has defeated John Cena! The World Heavyweight Champion lays on the mat, breathing heavily as the referee leaves the cage, grabs the World Title and brings it into the ring. Matt is now on his knees, and he clutches the title to his chest. He gets to his feet, wipes the tiny bit of blood off his forehead, looks down at the exhausted Cena. The World Champion slowly climbs up the turnbuckle, but continues up the cage, gaining his balance on the top, and raising the belt aloft to a lot of heat where we cut to black.

Re: C3K Presents: WWE 2009 - The Fear That's In Your Eyes

The Great American Bash Review

Dolph Ziggler beats John Morrison to become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion in a match for the vacant WWE Cruiserweight Championship and what more can I say that I loved this match so much because it was not only so athletic and back and forth but it was like counter after counter in this match that it definitely did not get boring like you could watch these 2 men in the ring all day and not get bored but also that it was just such a classic in the sense of it being a mix of high-flying spots but also putting on a wrestling clinic with it being all ground and pound which definitely made it interesting because these 2 had such an interesting rivalry in the build-up towards this match but definitely a great way to open a pay per view for sure, here is hoping the rivalry continues

Daniel Bryan and Kaval The Warriors beating Hawkins and Ryder was another great result with the right team going over, it was such a good match all be it that it was a tag team match and I am not crazy about tag team matches because they don't really do anything for me but this match sure as hell did and I will tell you why I loved it so much because of the fact that this match tells a great story in the sense of the rivalry being so personal because of the AJ factor but also because these 2 teams if anything are probably 2 of the best tag teams currently on Smackdown at the moment no offense to the WWE Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty but still this match was great because this match goes a long way to proving just which team is next in line for a WWE Tag Team Championship match down the road

Ziggler backstage with Layla the Assistant GM of Smackdown, this is so great, but at the same time I am wondering if Layla isn't at risk to get fired by Teddy who is the GM of the show because Layla should not be having a relationship with a superstar especially if she is in a position of power because if anything that just goes to show you that she probably doesn't care about being the Assistant GM, so why doesn't Teddy Long just fire her as his assistant and put her back on the active roster as a diva/valet? Makes more sense, wouldn't you agree

R-Truth is definitely becoming more unhinged by the day, and I mean that in a bad way because he is nuts, he has clearly gone off the deep end, only a matter of time before he goes off spewing at the mouth about how there is a conspiracy against him to hold him down or to hold him back but at the same time you can't help but sympathize with R-Truth because he is so right, there is a conspiracy against him to keep him down, to keep him away from not only the WWE United States Championship but to keep him away from the main event but R-Truth will get his title back, I have every confidence in The Suntan Superman to get it done tonight against Kofi

Evan Bourne the ultimate underdog beating Mike Knox, classic David vs Goliath story here if you ask me, but this match if anything just puts Bourne over even more whereas Knox if anything is on a downward spiral and has been for quite a while, but at the same time with Kelly Kelly and Evan Bourne embracing each other at the end, what would have made it even better is if the two of them kissed one another right in front of Knox, now that would have been even better but at the same time here is hoping Bourne's rivalry with Knox is over and also that Kelly Kelly can finally move on and focus on bigger and better things like perhaps getting a shot at the WWE Women's Championship hopefully in the future

Jeff Hardy backstage moment was great

Jeff Hardy beating Chris Jericho if anything I feel was the wrong result and I will tell you why I loved this match but hated the result because of the fact that it makes it so damn obvious that it is going to be Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy yet again and honestly who wants to see these 2 brothers go at it again? I know I don't that's for sure, but at the same time I feel Jericho got screwed here. If anything Jericho won the match fair and square all be it that he cheated to win but still he won, he should be the #1 Contender for that World Heavyweight Championship and not Jeff Hardy and here is hoping that you rectify that because Jericho more than earned the right to become #1 Contender but no it gets taken away from him by Teddy Long and then the match gets restarted with Hardy eventually winning, it is just not fair to Jericho. Jericho is the Best in the World at everything he does and ever since he has come to Smackdown he has been persecuted against because at least when Jericho was on RAW he was actually main-eventing hell he was even champion at one point the 2008 WWE Superstar of the Year and now he is on Smackdown being held down, R-Truth was right there is a conspiracy against certain superstars. So predictable that Hardy goes over because now it is obviously going to set up Hardy vs Hardy at SummerSlam

Kofi beats Truth to retain the WWE United States Championship, I also enjoyed this match and if anything I will say the right man went over but at the same time it just adds to R-Truth's point that there is a conspiracy theory and I wonder if R-Truth will get other heels on his side on Smackdown to lead a revolution because R-Truth has been saying it from day one that there is a conspiracy and there is to keep certain superstars down or to keep certain superstars back from where they should be but at the same time I think Truth will end up being obsessed with the WWE United States Championship in terms of winning it back, this rivalry is far from over that's for sure

The Hart Dynasty still the WWE Tag Team Champions retaining their titles against The Brian Kendrick & Ezekiel Jackson in what I thought was a great match because of the fact that both these teams are so evenly matched but at the same time their rivalry gave off a great story here in this match but also because of the fact that you have Bret right in the middle of it just adding to the importance of this match but then again if anything The Hart Dynasty there is one word to describe them and that is fluke, no way they can pull off another successful title defense

John Cena being attacked before his match in the Steel Cage for the World Heavyweight Championship but Cena still going even after this attack even after it might be too dangerous for him to even compete, just adds to Cena's character of being one to never give up but I wonder if Cena is making a mistake getting in that ring getting in that cage with the likes of the World Heavyweight Champion Matt Hardy who has become more dangerous than he's ever been ever since winning that World Heavyweight Championship

But let's not forget RAW superstar and Mr. Money in the Bank CM Punk he could be in the building and if he is, Punk could very well cash in his briefcase right here tonight at The Bash cashing in on whoever the World Heavyweight Champion is whether that be Cena or Matt Hardy

Edge beating Kane, this is great because the right man definitely went over and not only that but the match was so back and forth especially the ending with Edge countering out of the Chokeslam in mid-air and then hitting a Spear on Kane from out of nowhere to win the match because now hopefully their rivalry can be over and both men can move on from one another setting their sights back on the World Heavyweight Championship but I wonder what is in store for both of these men now that The Bash is over?

I wonder what has Kane so rattled, what the hell is wrong with Kane now?

And in the main event how did I know that Matt Hardy would win? Like it was so damn obvious Hardy was going to beat Cena in the Steel Cage to retain the World Heavyweight Championship like you couldn't even put in the element of surprise here? It was obvious Matt was going to go over because of the fact that his brother Jeff won earlier on in the night which I feel was nothing more than planned, a screwjob to screw Jericho but also to screw Cena over too in the process but at the same time I am not going to complain about it anymore because I don't see the point in it anymore but here is hoping you have Matt Hardy defend his World Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal 4-Way Match at SummerSlam defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and John Cena in a Fatal 4-Way because then it will just go a long way to proving just what type of champion Matt Hardy really is if he can do that?

Other than that, The Bash was a great pay per view, some results I didn't agree with but most of them I did, but here is hoping your SummerSlam pay per view is better than The Bash

But if anything you know what would make your pay per views better is if you made your pay per views inter-promotional with both brands RAW and Smackdown being on any or all cards from now on with your PPVs going inter-promotional it basically boosts up ratings but also at the same time by having all of your calendar pay per views being inter-promotional it basically has superstars of both brands interacting with one another backstage therefore teasing any or all future match-ups, but hey that is just an idea!!!!!!!!

Re: C3K Presents: WWE 2009 - The Fear That's In Your Eyes

Monday Night Raw – 13th July 2009; Litte Rock, Arkansa

Strike of a Snake

Beginning the show tonight is a recap of the events which happened the week before. The video begins with Randy Orton retaining the WWE Championship in a hard thought battle against Rey Mysterio. The main talking point was what transpired after these two poured their hearts and soul into the match, as The Viper stalked his prey, looking to punt Mysterio’s head off but his intentions were stopped by the return of The Animal, Batista! A former World Heavyweight Champion, Batista cleaned house, clearing the ring of Legacy and then finally putting his former Evolution cohort into the ground with a Batista Bomb – sending a clear message to the WWE Champion.

After the recap of last week, we swiftly shoot into the arena, not bothering tonight with the title video or any pyrotechnic displays, but the fans aren’t worried, they are still screaming their heads off.

***I WALK ALONE***

The crowd gets even louder as THE ANIMAL, BATISTA, walks onto the stage, getting one of the biggest pops of the year! He’s dressed in a plain white t-shirt with a black leather jacket and black jeans covering his bottom half. As the crowd continue to cheer at the sight of Batista, he steadies himself on the ramp, taking in the reaction he’s getting before walking down the rest of the way. As he turns to walk to the steel steps, he slaps a couple of outstretched hands before jogging up the stairs.

Michael Cole: Welcome to Monday Night Raw! And right there is the man that returned to save his friend, and to get a piece of Randy Orton last week... The Animal, Batista! I’m Michael Cole, joined as ever by The Hardcore Legend, Mick Foley!

Mick Foley: Thank you, Michael. And it’s a great sight to see Batista back in a WWE ring, after the injuries he suffered at the hands of the WWE Champion, Randy Orton last year.

Michael Cole: Orton will not be happy that The Animal is back, and you’ll have to think he’ll be gunning for The Viper’s WWE Championship.

We cut to the ring, where Batista is standing in the centre, with a microphone in his hand.

Batista: Dammmnnnnn – it feels good to be back!

~ The Arkansa crowd react with a strong pop as Batista begins to walk around the ring, scanning the arena before stopping in the centre again...

Batista: Since December of last year... I’ve sat on my ass and watched... (shakes his head) watched as the WWE Champion, Randy Orton ran riot over Raw.

~ Boos from the crowd which draws a nod from Batista, agreeing with the fans feelings on the subject...

Batista: But right now... Randy Orton’s reign as the top dog here on Raw is over! Because The Machine is back! The Animal is back!

~ Huge pop from the fans...

Batista: (smiling) That’s right... I’m back (frowning) and the first man on my hit list is Randy Orton!

~ Batista has to lower his microphone which allows the fans to begin a very loud “BA-TIS-TA” chant, once it does down The Animal brings the mic back up...

Batista: On the fifteen of December, last year, Orton punted me in the head.

~ Heat for that moment...

Batista: Orton done to me what he’s done to Superstars like Shawn Michaels, Triple H and The Undertaker.

~ The crowd boo the memory of what The Viper has done to these huge Superstars...

Batista: I was out for a couple of months, before I was able to get back in the gym... but when I was cleared, I hit the gym every damn day. (runs his hand over his shaved head) In the gym every day, gettin’ ready for the moment where I returned.

~ Batista takes his black shades off and attaches them to the collar of his t-shirt...

Batista: That moment was last week... and the look on Orton’s face was priceless. The sheer look of terror that I saw told me I made the right decision in comin’ back last week.

~ The crowd agree as they start to cheer...

Batista: The fact that Orton is the WWE Champion is only a bonus... y’see... now not only can I get retribution... I can take his WWE Championship away from him!

~ The Animal turns to face the stage...

Batista: (stone faced) So Orton, I’m challengin’ you right now for the WWE Championship... so either get out here or stay back there and prove to everyone just how much of a bitch you are!

~ The Machine leans on the top rope, arms hanging over it while the fans turn to the stage, in anticipation of seeing the WWE Champion...

***VOICES***

Immediately, the Raw crowd rise to their feet and begin to boo very loudly, all of that hate directed at the stage where the WWE Champion, Randy Orton walks out from behind the curtain. Wearing a Legacy t-shirt over his ring gear and the WWE Championship over his shoulder, he has a microphone in his hand and stops at the top of the ramp, looking down at The Animal, already the vein at the side of his head, pulsing.

Randy Orton: You should be careful what you wish for, Batista. (begins pacing from left to right on the ramp) I’ve put you out of action once, Dave, I have no problem doing it again. I have no problem with punting you in the temple one more time.

~ In the ring, Batista grins as Orton continues to pace...

Batista: Well... come on then Orton! Come on down and try... I dare you.

~ Big pop as Batista sits down on the second rope, inviting The Viper into the ring but he remains where he is, shaking his head, he’s now stopped pacing...

Randy Orton: Everybody knows we were in Evolution together, Dave, and everyone knows you were part of the reason I was kicked out of that group. I’ve dealt with two out of three... Triple H... and Ric Flair... I’ve put Triple H out of action, probably for good and I rid myself of Ric Flair. Now... only you remain.

~ Orton adjusts his WWE Championship on his shoulder, while Batista begins pacing the ring, identical to what The Viper was doing on the ramp...

Randy Orton: Do you understand why Triple H and Ric Flair kicked me out instead of you? It was because they saw me as a threat, Batista. They didn’t see you as half the threat that I was. Look at me now... if you thought I was a threat in Evolution... then you are in for a rough couple of weeks here on Raw... before I get rid of the final member of Evolution.

~ The camera closes in on Orton’s face, the vein throbbing again...

Randy Orton: I am currently the WWE Champion... and will be for a very... very long time. I am the most dangerous Superstar in the WWE... and the leader of the most dangerous group in the WWE... Legacy.

~ Batista continues to study Orton, waiting for the right moment to interject...

Randy Orton: The only reason you were able to do what you did last week... was because I wasn’t prepared for you. You took me by surprise... if I knew you were there... you wouldn’t be standing right now.

~ The Animal shakes his head with a grin...

Batista: So you are sayin’... that if you knew I was in the buildin’ last week... I wouldn’t be here tonight?

Randy Orton: (nodding) That’s right, Dave. I was this close (moves his fingers together) to punting your little friend Mysterio in the head when you took me by surprise. Don’t think for a second... you’d be standing if I knew.

~ Heat for that statement...

Batista: Well c’mon then! You know I’m here now, right?! Let’s put it to the test, come down here and try to take me down.

~ Orton takes a step forward, then stops to some heat from the crowd...

Batista: Or... you could stay up there and be the bitch that you are! Or... come down here and prove you got some balls!

~ Batista throws the microphone down, and it bounces out of the ring and he then proceeds to take off his leather jacket and throw it to the side, showing off his huge muscles...

On the stage, Orton thinks it over, mulling over his chances before finally taking a step down, and then another which causes the fans to cheer the potential brawl we are about to see. Batista backs off to the opposite ropes, allowing Orton half the ring to slide into it, but instead he takes his sweet time, walking down and climbing up the steel steps.

Michael Cole: It appears we’re gonna’ have a fight on our hands ladies and gentleman!

Mick Foley: This has been brewing for weeks! Batista and Randy Orton!

Batista bends down into a lower stance, moving forward from the ropes a little, while Orton begins to step through the ropes, leaving his championship on the apron, he looks wary but then fans suddenly start booing...

... as CODY RHODES AND TED DIBIASE HAVE SLID INTO THE RING... BEHIND BATISTA!

The Animal turns around in time to see them, and takes DiBiase down with a clothesline to a huge pop, and backs Rhodes into the corner with multiple punches to the stomach but HE’S BLINDSIDED BY THE WWE CHAMPION... AS ORTON JUMPS ONTO HIS BACK... CLUBBING HIM OVER AND OVER!

Michael Cole: Oh!

Batista manages to turn around while being clubbed by Orton, and succeeds in pushing him away, creating some separation as the crowd cheer the fight back. But as he moves on Orton... Rhodes suddenly hits him with a chop block! Batista lies on one knee, as Legacy surround him, pushing him down to his chest near the corner, and the three men begin stomping on The Animal to mega heat!

Mick Foley: This is a mugging, Michael!

Michael Cole: Once again Legacy have overpowered their opponent, the sheer number advantage playing a huge part here!

The down pour of heat which is currently going on begins to change to very, very loud cheers and the cameras whirl to the ramp where... REY MYSTERIO IS SPRINTING DOWN TO THE RING!

Michael Cole: Rey Mysterio!

Mick Foley: He’s returning the favour tonight!

The cheers alert Legacy to something that’s not right, so DiBiase turns around to see Mysterio sliding into the ring, he attempts to cut Rey off with a clothesline but Rey ducks it, hits the ropes and hits a tilt-a-whirl headscissors... which propels DiBiase out of the ring!

Orton continues to pound on Batista while Rhodes is next to meet Mysterio, clubbing him in the back, but Rey wheels around and lashes a kick off the shin of Rhodes! Rhodes backs away into the ropes, and Mysterio hits him with a jumping drop kick, sending Cody falling through the ropes!

Randy turns around and sees his cohorts have been dealt with, so with one lasting kick to the stomach of The Animal, he dives to the mat and rolls out of the ring, grabbing his WWE Championship from the apron and backing up the ramp. He’s soon joined by Rhodes and DiBiase, whilst Rey helps Batista to his feet!

Michael Cole: It appears that Legacy are running for the hills, they’ve been-

Mick Foley: I wouldn’t be so sure, Michael.

Orton and the rest of Legacy begin to talk in a huddle, the WWE Champion being the most vocal while Batista and Rey turn to face them, inviting them back into the ring. And they seem to want to oblige as they take a step back towards the ring...

***THE GREAT GATE OF KIEV***

Legacy turn on their heels to face the stage, where Jerry Lawler, the Raw General Manager walks out from behind the curtain. He gets a somewhat negative response, more of buzz kill heat but he doesn’t seem to care, he’s focused on what’s transpiring in his arena tonight.

Jerry Lawler: Hold on a minute, guys. Orton, Legacy, stop right there, do not make another step towards that ring.

~ Some heat here as Batista and Rey shake their heads in the ring, they wanted more of Legacy tonight...

Jerry Lawler: You five want to fight? That’s fine, but you’ll do it in a match.

~ Orton cocks his head, mulling over what Jerry might say while the fans are more pleased...

Jerry Lawler: Tonight... in our main event... it will be Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase... taking on the team of Rey Mysterio... (pointing at the ring) and THE ANIMAL... BATISTA!!

{Michael Cole: Wow!}

~ The Arkansa crowd respond with a massive pop, whilst Mysterio and Batista grin in the ring, Legacy turn to face them, but Orton stays staring at the Raw GM...

Jerry Lawler: But, right now, I want you all out of the ring!

With that Orton turns and faces the ring, the entire group backing up the ramp, watching as Batista leans over the ropes, grinning from ear to ear while Mysterio climbs one of the turnbuckles, pointing at a group of fans below him.

*Backstage – Hallway*

Backstage, the Raw General Manager, Jerry Lawler is walking down a narrow hall way, perhaps on his way to his office when he’s stopped by a trio of Divas, namely Gail Kim, Mickie James & Michelle McCool.

Gail Kim: Jerry...

~ The King turns to face the trio, with a smile on his face...

Jerry Lawler: Girls... what can I do for ya’?

~ Gail nods at Mickie who nods at Michelle...

Michelle McCool: Well... we heard that you need a challenger for Maryse’s Women’s Title?

Jerry Lawler: Yeah, that’s right, Michelle.

Mickie James: Well, we had an idea. Let’s face it, no Diva in the locker room particularly likes Maryse.

~ Mickie pauses while the other two girls nod...

Mickie James: So, um, we had an idea. But uh, could we chat about it somewhere... private?

~ Lawler looks around and sees some workers milling around before turning back to the Divas in front of him...

Jerry Lawler: Uh, yeah sure. Just follow me to my office.

All Three Divas: Great!

~ Lawler leads the way as the foursome walk past the camera man and out of sight...

1 – Mr. Kennedy & MVP vs. Jesse & Festus

The new number one contenders for the World Tag Team Titles faced off tonight against Raw’s newest team, Jesse and Festus after their move from SmackDown over to Raw, but it wasn’t a very successful one for the two loveable chaps.

Kennedy and MVP dominated from the outset, isolating Jesse from his bigger tag team partner, really showing that they can work together as a team. The bulk of the action took place with MVP as the legal man with Festus, showing off his wide array of skills in the ring, but Kennedy got some time in as well to show what he can do.

The fans were behind the number one contenders and Michael Cole done his best to sell the fact that The Monarchy may be underestimating these two as they’re a “random put together team”. But nonetheless, Jesse eventually got the tag to the bigger man, but in the end MVP and Mr. Kennedy were just too good, picking up the victory and showing that they are more than a match for The Monarchy after beating an established team such as Jesse and Festus.

Winners – Mr. Kennedy & MVP @ 4.02

MVP is the man that made the pin and Mr. Kennedy joins him in the ring, and they have their arms raised by the referee, before they each take a turnbuckle.

Michael Cole: A solid victory here tonight for MVP and Mr. Kennedy over an established team like that, that’ll no doubt give them a lot of confidence heading into Vengeance in a couple of weeks.

Mick Foley: No offence to Jesse and Festus but they aren’t exactly the greatest team we’ve ever had on Raw, Kennedy and Porter will need to up their game if they are to defeat the World Tag Team Champions, Drew McIntyre and Nigel McGuiness.

In the ring, Raw interviewer, Todd Grisham climbs up and into it, microphone in hand and when MVP and Mr. Kennedy see him they walk over, as Grisham gets his question in his mind ready.

Todd Grisham: First of all, congratulations on your victory here tonight.

~ Fans respond with a good cheer and Kennedy attempts to get their reaction even louder by waving his hand upwards...

Todd Grisham: How do you feel after winning this match, getting a much needed momentum boost heading towards Vengeance? And a lot of people have been wondering how you can expect to win despite not being an “established” tag team?

~ MVP glances at Kennedy...

MVP: Well, for a “random put together team” goin’ up against an “established team” like those two, (turns to Kennedy) I thought we done a’ight.

Mr. Kennedy: (pulling the mic towards him) I thought we done pretty good.

MVP: Great even?

Mr. Kennedy: Exceptional?

MVP: Amazin’?

Mr. Kennedy: ... yeah I think they get it. Look, four eyes (laughs from the crowd while Todd looks a tad hurt), we’re gettin’ pretty sick of people callin’ us a “random put together team”... it doesn’t matter if we only met each other last week.

~ Todd moves the microphone over to MVP while Kenney puts his hands on his hips...

MVP: Y’see... Todd... we’ve known each other since two thousand and...?

~ Kennedy mouths “six”...

MVP: Two thousand and six... we know each other’s games inside and out. We have more experience in this ring than The Monarchy do, that’s for damn sure, and we’re gonna’ use all o’ that experience to take those tag titles away from them.

~ Kennedy takes the microphone...

Mr. Kennedy: You are lookin’ at the next World Tag Team Titles... you may not believe in us, poindexter, but these people do, ( to the crowd) ain’t that right?

~ Big pop as MVP scans the fans...

Mr. Kennedy: After Vengeance, you better believe that this “random put together team” will become-

~ Suddenly the crowd begin booing which alerts Kennedy and MVP, the duo turn around to see DREW MCINTYRE AND NIGEL MCGUINESS AT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RING!

They rush forward, but Drew nails Kennedy with a big boot and down he goes! Meanwhile, Nigel connects with a running clothesline, taking off the head of Porter!

Michael Cole: The Monarchy!

Drew picks Kennedy up and launches him over the top rope, he lands on his feet but the momentum propels him forward into the barricade with a sickening thud! Nigel and Drew turn their full attention to Porter, now that he’s the only man in the ring with them. They pull him to his feet, and Nigel throws him forward into McIntyre’s grasp, who plants him WITH A FUTURE SHOCK DDT!

Michael Cole: Damn it!

Mick Foley: They’re sending a message right now, Michael!

Drew and Nigel stand over Montel, but turn around when Kennedy re-enters the ring, running forward and trying to take down Drew, but Nigel pulls him off and hits him with a stiff uppercut! Kennedy stumbles back into the corner, leaving his neck exposed to McGuiness, so he grabs it and hoists him up, putting his ankles on the top turnbuckle... NAILING HIM WITH THE TOWER OF LONDON!

Michael Cole: Oh! He may have a broken neck, Mick!

It’s obvious hyperbole from Cole but the fans coincide with his worries, pouring heat on the World Tag Team Champions as Nigel stands above Kennedy and Drew is standing over Porter!

Michael Cole: This is sick, Mick.

Mick Foley: It seems the message has been sent, Michael.

*Backstage – Interview Area*

Renee Young is standing by with one of Raw’s most exciting Superstars, TJ Perkins, who gets a solid pop from the crowd.

Renee Young: Hi! I’m Renee Young, standing by with TJ Perkins. (turns to Perkins) And TJ, tonight you face the Intercontinental Champion, William Regal, if you win this match then you put yourself right in the championship picture, can you tell me what’s running through your mind as you prepare for this match?

~ TJ thinks it over for a second...

TJ Perkins: Renee, you’re right... if I defeat Regal then you gotta’ imagine I’ll be at the front of the line for a shot at the title.

~ Renee nods in agreement...

TJ Perkins: Which means this match is the biggest I’ve had in my short career here. An’ I don’t plan on losin’... I can deal with pressure, and this is as much pressure as you’re gonna’ get. But what’s runnin’ through my mind?

~ TJ scratches his chin...

TJ Perkins: The fact that I know I can beat Regal... and the fact that I know once I do beat him, I’ll get my first shot at a WWE title. All I can do is go out there and do what I do best. I’m not a bigger talker... I do my best work in that ring, similar to Regal actually... but like I said after I beat him, The Puma will be known as the Intercontinental Champion.

~ All smiles from Perkins...

Renee Young: Well, the WWE universe has certainly taken to you since your debut, and it’s no surprise with your all action strategy in the ring, I hope it pays dividends for you later tonight. Thanks for your time.

~ Renee gets a thankful nod from TJ as he walks off to continue his preparations for the match later tonight...

2 – Non-Title Match
Women’s Champ’ Maryse vs. Sheila Lennox

It’s a fair cry away from the competition she faced last week, and it shows in the Women’s Championship attitude to this match. As she went to lock up with the brunette haired local talent she took a step back before bending down and flipping her hair, drawing heat from the crowd (and some wolf whistles from the men ). Throughout the bout, after each move, the champion took time out to make sure her hair was spotless, and make sure everyone in the arena saw how great she is at everything she does. After toying with her opponent for most of the match, embarrassing her at every opportunity... before finally putting her away with the French TKO!

Winner – Maryse @ 2.45

Without breaking a sweat, the Women’s Champion rolls off Lennox, and stands up, she tells the referee to get away from her as she raises her own hand before playing with her blonde locks.

Mick Foley: Damn, this girl loves herself.

Michael Cole: She is the current Women’s Champion, and one of the most beautiful Divas we’ve ever had.

Mick Foley: Is that why she always ignores you in the hall way?

Michael Cole: ... Yeah.

The French Canadian rips her championship from the clutches of the referee and then walks back over to the corner, bending over () and demanding a microphone from the timekeepers table. He duly obliges and hands it over, nearly having his hand ripped off with the force that she tears it away from him.

Maryse: What is zis? (pointing at Lennox) Really?

~ Maryse walks over to Lennox and kicks her out of the ring, which draws some heat from the crowd...

Maryse: (re-adjusts the title on her shoulder) I am ‘ze Undisputed Women’s Champion and I have been for the past month and a half. Nobody... and I mean nobody in ‘zat locker room can beat me.

~ More heat for the arrogant blonde...

Maryse: (turns to the stage) Let’s run through everyone in ‘zat locker room, shall we? Michelle McCool? I beat her for the Divas Championship. Gail Kim? I defeated her ‘zat Backlash.

~ The champion laughs to herself...

Maryse: (flicking a piece of hair back) Mickie James? My first night on Raw, I beat her. (turning away from the stage) Katie Lea? Well... (motions around the arena) we all know what happened there.

~ She continues to laugh away to herself...

Maryse: All zese Divas have one thing in common... (smiling seductively) they couldn’t beat me. And no one will... because I plan on bein’ Undisputed Women’s Champion for a very long time... and no diva past or present will stop-

***THE GREAT GATE OF KIEV***

Contrary to his first interruption of the evening, this time he gets a rousing pop as the Raw General Manager; Jerry Lawler makes his THIRD appearance of the night! Immediately, Maryse turns to the stage, arms out wide, exasperated at the interruption. Lawler, stops on the stage and has a microphone in his hand.

Jerry Lawler: Maryse... as ever... it’s a pleasure to see you.

~ Maryse rolls her eyes...

Jerry Lawler: But uh, that voice of yours was really gratin’ so I had to come out here.

~ Lawler chuckles away to himself while Maryse feigns laughter...

Jerry Lawler: Gettin’ serious here for a minute... earlier on I was in my office, thinkin’ of an opponent for you at Vengeance.

~ Maryse turns away from the stage, facing the hard camera and saying “another lamb to the slaughter” before turning back...

Jerry Lawler: So without further ado... allow me to introduce you to your opponent.

~ Almost immediately, one by one, Gail Kim (pop) ... Michelle McCool (heat)... and Mickie James (who gets the loudest reaction of the three) walk onto the stage, confusion in the eyes of the champion and some of the fans.

Maryse: Uh, Jerry...

~ Maryse laughs a little...

Maryse: I know... I know... it’s okay Jerry.

~ Jerry puts his arms out at the side, mouthing “what?”...

Maryse: It’s normal for people at zour age to mix things up.

~ “Ohh”...

Maryse: So... which one of zese Divas am I beatin’ at Vengeance?

Jerry Lawler: ... ... At Vengeance... you’ll be facing... (he looks along the line) every one of them!

~ WHAT?! Huge pop but Maryse’s grin changes in an instant...

Jerry Lawler: That’s right... you’ll be defendin’ that (points at her title) in a Fatal-Four-Way match!

{Michael Cole: Wow!

Mick Foley: That’s huge!}

~ Maryse goes mental in the ring, throwing the microphone down to the ground, and screaming “you can’t do this to me!” but suddenly MICKIE JAMES MAKE A BEELINE FOR THE RING!

The crowd rise to their feet as Mickie slides into the ring, looking to get her hands on the champion... but she gets out of dodge by sliding out the ring and backing away to the announce table!

Michael Cole: Look out!

In the ring, Mickie turns around into a FEROCIOUS CLOTHESLINE FROM MCCOOL!

Heat reigns down on the blonde but not for long as GAIL KIM SLIDES INTO THE RING... AND TAKES MICHELLE OUT WITH A LOW DROP KICK!!

Mick Foley: What a drop kick! Michelle’s down!

On the outside, Maryse turns around and SLAPS THE HELL OUT OF THE ANNOUNCE TABLE! Gritting her teeth as she looks at the two announcers.

Michael Cole: Uh...?

Mick Foley: Was it somethin’ we said?

The action doesn’t end as Maryse skulks her way around the ring, stepping over McCool’s body, as in the ring, while Gail watches the champion go... she’s suddenly spun around and PLANTED WITH A MICK-DDT BY MICKIE JAMES!

Michael Cole: This is chaos!

Mickie lets her guard down as she watches Maryse head up the ramp as McCool slides into the ring, the heat accompanying that alerts Mickie who turns around, but gets kicked in the stomach before being hoisted up... and PLANTED WITH THE FAITH BREAKER!

Mick Foley: Someone needs to control these Divas!

Michael Cole: And the women at the centre of this chaos got out unscathed!

Maryse continues to back up the ramp, while McCool makes the universal motion across her stomach, signalling she wants that title.

Backstage – Batista’s Locker Room

Backstage, Batista is sat on a steel chair, tying the laces of his boots, he gets a massive response from the fans inside the arena and then after a couple of seconds, Rey Mysterio walks into the shot.

Rey Mysterio: Dave.

~ He pats Batista on the shoulder, gathering his attention and a smile forms of Batista’s face, standing up...

Batista: (hugging Mysterio) Rey, what’s up? How you doin’?

~ Batista takes a step back, smiling...

Rey Mysterio: I’m good Dave, y’know. What happened las’ week... I uh, I wanna’ thank you.

~ Batista pats Rey on the shoulder...

Batista: Don’t worry ‘bout it... I couldn’t let them do to you what they did to me.

Rey Mysterio: Well, I thank you for that. If my kids saw that last week, I-

Batista: (holding his hands up) Like I said, don’t worry ‘bout it. But hey, I appreciate you helpin’ me earlier on. Seems we’re makin’ a habit out of savin’ each other’s asses. (laughs)

~ Pop from the crowd...

Rey Mysterio: Well, I better go get ready for our match later... see ya’ out there.

~ Rey gets another pat on the shoulder as he turns around, leaving the scene as Batista sits back down to continue lacing his boots up.

*Backstage – Legacy’s Locker Room*

Interestingly enough, we cut straight to Batista and Rey’s opponents, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase sat on two steel chairs as the WWE Champion, Randy Orton paces.

Randy Orton: (punching a locker) Damn it!

~ Orton stops pacing and rubs his face...

Randy Orton: If Mysterio didn’t show his face we’d be done with Batista-

~ Suddenly, Josh Matthews enters the locker room, unannounced and taps The Viper on the shoulder...

Josh Matthews: Uh, Rand-

~ ORTON WHIRLS AROUND ON HIS HEELS AND GRABS MATTHEWS BY THE COLLAR! The crowd boo as they thrusts him back into the lockers, seething at the interviewer...

Randy Orton: (snarling) No questions.

Josh Matthews: (looking scared as hell) Bu- bu- but I’m just trying t- to do my job.

Randy Orton: (throwing Matthews to the side) I don’t care! Get out!

~ Matthews skulks away, his pride obviously shaken as Orton turns back to his cohort, breathing heavily...

Cody Rhodes: (wearily) Randy...

~ Orton looks up as Rhodes stands up...

Cody Rhodes: I got an idea.

~ Ted now stands up, looking at the side of Rhodes’ face...

Randy Orton: Go on...

Cody Rhodes: If we get of the jumpin’ bean, then we get Batista alone, right? Well...

~ Rhodes leans in to Orton, whispering something in his ear with DiBiase looking on. Rhodes backs away once he’s finished...

Randy Orton: (looking Cody up and down) That’s... that’s... actually a good idea.

~ A relieved expression appears on Cody’s face...

Ted DiBiase: Care to share?

~ It rhymed ()...

~ Rhodes looks at Orton who nods and then Cody turns to Ted but before he can explain, Orton puts his hand on the camera, pushing it down and we can only see the floor as Orton says...

Randy Orton: Out.

~ And with that, we cut away as the plan is being revealed to Ted...

***THIS FIRE BURNS***

A thunderous pop greets the arrival of Mr. Money in the Bank, CM Punk, as he walks out onto the stage, wearing black and green ring attire and a “GTS” shirt on. He holds the briefcase in his hand while he surveys the arena before bending down, and checking the time on his invisible watch, before standing up and yelling “it’s clobbering time”! Meanwhile, in the ring, stands Charlie Haas, getting ready for the upcoming match.

Michael Cole: The past couple of weeks, we’ve seen the rivalry between Jack Swagger and CM Punk escalate. At first it was about the Money in the Bank briefcase, but because of recent events it has become more personal and-

Mick Foley: Whoa! Hold on!

Suddenly boos rain down on the arena as JACK SWAGGER CLOBBERS PUNK FROM BEHIND... SENDING HIM FLYING INTO THE APRON!

Haas’ stays in the centre of the ring, looking on as Swagger climbs on top of Punk and begins to punch him in the head, over and over. He stands up, grab Punk by the head and hurls him INTO THE BARRICADE! The ‘cade nearly moves a couple feet backwards as Punk lands with a thud, the crowd booing the hell out of Swagger.

Michael Cole: Did you hear that?!

Mick Foley: That was sick, Michael!

Swagger pulls Punk up once again, and this time tries to whip him into the steel steps... BUT PUNK REVERSES... AND SWAGGER RUNS KNEES FIRST INTO THE COLD STEEL! He flips over them and holds onto his knees, the pain searing through his legs as Punk regains his breath while leaning on the barricade. He begins to snarl and curse as he walks up to Swagger, pulling him up and SMASHING HIS HEAD OFF THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!

Michael Cole: Oh!

Mick Foley: I think it’s time to make ourselves scarce, Michael!

Indeed you do, Mick, because Punk has just ripped the top of the announce table off! The crowd respond with a massive pop, but Punk turns around to get Swagger but he’s TAKEN OUT... BY SWAGGER SMASHING THE... RING BELL OFF HIS FOREHEAD!

Swagger throws the bell down, and bends down next to Punk, who looks up at him and we see he’s BUSTED open! Blood is pouring down the face of Punk, it’s not as bad as Eddie Guerrero at Judgment Day but it’s damn near similar!

Michael Cole: We need to get help out here! Punk’s just been busted open!

Swagger pulls Punk to his feet, but Punk being the fighter that he is, tries to fight back, hitting a couple of punches but then The All American knees him in the stomach. Punk keels over, and Swagger throws him HEAD FIRST INTO THE STEEL POST!

Huge heat is raining down on Swagger but they turn to cheers as CHARLIE HAAS ATTEMPTS TO HELP! He grabs Swagger from behind, pulling him around and going for a punch, but Jack blocks it and hoists Haas up, and RAMS HIS BACK INTO THE SAME POST THAT PUNK GOT THROWN INTO!

Michael Cole: Aw, come on!

The heat is huge right now as Swagger grabs Punk, getting blood all over his hands as he pulls him towards the announce table. He grabs a loose cable, and... WRAPS IT AROUND PUNK’S THROAT!

Mick Foley: Come on, Swagger! That’s enough!

Swagger shouts something at Mick along the lines of shut the hell up, but we can’t hear it as the crowd are booing the hell out of him. It’s damn near riot level of heat as Swagger continues to tighten the cable around the throat! After what seems like an age, he finally lets go, the Money in the Bank holder falling to the ground in a heap!

The All American stands over Punk, and keeps yelling “c’mon, Punk!” before pulling him to his feet and bringing him to the front of the announce table. He holds him up, looking into the reddened eyes of his rival, before using his free hand, and wiping it on the forehead of Punk, then rubbing his chest with Punk’s blood!

Mick Foley: Swagger seems to have snapped, Michael.

Swagger then suddenly kicks Punk in the stomach and lifts him up...

Michael Cole: No! Don’t do this, Jack!

Too late... SWAGGER SLAMS HIM DOWN WITH THE GUTWRENCH POWERBOMB... RIGHT THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!!!!

Michael Cole: No! Someone get help!

Punk lies in amongst the ruins of the table as Swagger stands above him, blood across his chest and looks around the arena, before soaking in the loudest reaction he’s ever had, before leaving. He looks over his shoulder at Punk as he walks, before stepping over Haas and walking up the ramp as medical staff, Arn Anderson, Ricky Steamboat and the Raw General Manager, Jerry Lawler come running down to check on the battered and bruised Punk.

Mick Foley: Wow! I didn’t think Swagger had this in him.

Michael Cole: Swagger... what have you done?

Swagger stands on the stage as the medics bend down to help Punk. We then get A LOT of replays of everything that just transpired before we cut back to real time, where Punk is on his feet, albeit with the help of Arn and Ricky, who hold him up, and help him around the ring. He gets a very loud C-M-PUNK chant but he’s too damaged to notice as he’s helped up the ramp.

The video opens in a dark room, a man is standing with a light shining behind him, shadowing his face, but we can tell it’s The Viper, Randy Orton staring at the ground.

Creepy Male Narrator: Vengeance.

Crashing shots of Orton looking up slowly, while interspersed are shots of him punting Vince McMahon in the head, The Viper completes the motion of looking up.

Creepy Male Narrator: Vengeance is the infliction of injury on a man who has wronged you.

Shot of Randy, in slow motion, RKO’ing Ric Flair.

Creepy Male Narrator:Vengeance is when Superstars take action against their enemies.

Greyed-out footage of The Viper and Legacy raising The Undertaker on a cross.

Creepy Male Narrator: Vengeance equals pain. For who? Isn’t always clear.

Now, we get footage of Backlash where Orton punts Triple H in the head.

We’re back in the room, we see Orton grinning at the camera, and then he walks past it.

Then we footage of him punting The Animal, Batista in the skull.

Back in the room, an unknown man enters the room, walking in front of the camera, we can’t see the man’s face though.

???: Vengeance will be mine.

Back from the commercial, we again get some replays of what just happened, before we cut to the announce booth.

Michael Cole: Well, I... I don’t know what to say, Mick.

Mick Foley: No one does, Michael. These fans are in shock at the things that Jack Swagger just did. But let me tell you something – Jack Swagger may have just made the biggest mistake of his life.

Michael Cole: This has gone past Money in the Bank briefcases... this is about rivalry... this is about blood.

*Backstage – Interview Area*

Backstage, Renee Young is standing by with WWE Diva, Melina.

Renee Young: Well, uh, it’s a very strange mood back here after what just transpired, but nonetheless we have a show to get through. So, joining me right now is... Melina.

~ Young turns to the pretty Diva who responds with a smile...

Renee Young: Melina, in two weeks time, you go one on one with Beth Phoenix... in the first ever female Extreme Rules match, can we get your thoughts on that?

~ Melina pauses for a moment, adjusting her hair...

Melina:
Renee, at Fully Loaded... I went one on one with Beth, (smiles) and I beat her.

~ Pop...

Melina: But you know Beth, right? (shakes her head) She didn’t take that loss very well... in fact, she attacked by after the match... and she escalated things between me and her. And now... (laughs to herself) and now it’s escalated to the first ever Divas Extreme Rules match.

~ Another pop...

Melina: Jerry Lawler wants us to settle our differences... and that’s just what we’re goin’ to do. Beth things she’s the alpha female here on Raw... but what she doesn’t know... is just how extreme... I can be.

~ Evil grin from The A-Lister...

Melina: The Pay-Per-View is named Vengeance... how... how apt. Y’see, Renee, I’ve yet to get my Vengeance on Beth yet. Sure... I got a piece of her last week... but that isn’t enough, for the first time ever, the WWE Divas are goin’ Extreme and at the end of the night... only one Diva will be leavin’ that ring, still walkin’.

~ Melina looks dead on at the camera...

Melina: And, it isn’t gonna’ be you, Beth.

With that The A-List Diva turns on her heels and leaves the interview area.

3 – Shawn Michaels vs. Wade Barrett

In what was a solid enough match, Shawn Michaels and Wade Barrett battled for seven minutes, with Barrett doing most of the offense, Michaels doing his best to make Barrett look like a million dollars. But it wasn’t always Barrett dominating, in the beginning Michaels took control with a fast paced start, looking to get last week’s loss to The Miz out of his system. He looked to be putting the match to bed before Barrett took control, catching Michaels in mid-air and hitting a Fall-A-Way slam, taking control.

The bulk of the match then took place with Barrett dominating, working over the neck and back of his opponent. Barrett incorporated much of his bare knuckle background style into this match, using his fists as well as showing off a good knowledge of traditional wrestling.

But, in the end, Shawn Michaels began to make a comeback. He fought his way back into the match, getting the crowd fired up and looking to put this match to bed. But suddenly...

*I CAME TO PLAY*

The wrestling came to a standstill, Michaels turned to the stage to see The Miz walk out to a massive batch of heat. With a smug look on his face, he simply stood on the ramp, looking on as Michaels was wondering what he was doing. Michaels then realized he was actually in a match, he turned around but it was right into a Bull Hammer Elbow!

With The Miz grinning, Barrett sunk into the cover, and despite the crowd begging for a kick out, Wade Barrett won the biggest match of his career!

Winner – Wade Barrett @ 7.40

With a helping hand from The Miz in the form of a distraction, Wade Barrett has his hand raised by the referee, soaking in the heat from the crowd, and enjoying his biggest victory yet.

Michael Cole: Shawn Michaels had this match won, Mick, he had Barrett on the back foot and if not from the distraction from The Miz, we would’ve had a different outcome here tonight.

Mick Foley: I can’t disagree with you there. I thought The Miz and Shawn Michaels were done with each other after what happened last week, but it seems we haven’t seen the last of this rivalry.

Barrett exits the ring and backs up the ramp, while The Miz walks down and jogs up the steel steps, adjusting his suit collar before stepping into the ring and grabbing a microphone.

He kneels down beside the loopy Michaels.

The Miz: (deeply) Did you think we were done?

~ The Miz shakes his head, looking up at the crowd booing him before turning his attention back to Michaels.

The Miz: We’re not done... (slowly) not by a long shot.

~ Michaels finally opens his eyes, looking up at Miz but he’s doesn’t really know where he is...

The Miz: Congratulations... you made up with Bret The Hitman Hart.

~ Big pop. The Miz shakes his head...

The Miz: Last week, you were too pre-occupied with Bret. You had him in your head, and what did he do... he cost you the match.

~ Big heat as the crowd know that it isn’t true...

The Miz: It came full circle, Shawn. All those years ago, you screwed him... now he screws you. He’s got his closure. But the first thing, I imagine, for you, is knowing that you lost to me.

~ Heat.

The Miz: The man you hate, the man that the whole locker room hates. A kid from Cleveland, not talented enough to be in the wrestling business, a kid that HAS NO RIGHT to be in a WWE ring, right?

~ Miz shakes his head...

The Miz: The mighty Shawn Michaels, the legendary Heartbreak Kid, got beat by The Miz.

~ Even more heat. Shawn tries to lift his arm to Miz’ face but he swats it away...

The Miz: Get used to it Shawn, because despite my victory over you last week... I’m not done. It was a little tainted for my taste, just like yours was at Fully Loaded. So... I’m gonna’ beat you again.

~ The Miz grins from ear to ear...

The Miz: Two weeks time... Vengeance... The Miz versus Shawn Michaels, it’s been cleared by Jerry Lawler... and it’s going to be a best... out of three falls match.

~ The fans don’t really know how to react...

The Miz: No excuses... for either of us. We’re gonna’ settle this, and at the end of the night, it will be The Miz named as the man that defeated the famous Shawn Michaels on PPV, thus starting my journey to become WWE Champion.

~ Huge heat...

The Miz: Because I’m The Miz... (standing up) and I’m AWESOMEEEE!

The music of The Awesome One blares out as he stands up, dropping the microphone and grinning down at his opponent at Vengeance. The Miz soaks in the heat he’s getting, before backing away, and exiting the ring, leaving Michaels to recover a little.

4 – Non-Title
I.C Champ. William Regal vs. TJ Perkins

With The Monarchy nowhere in sight, it seemed TJ Perkins had a fair shot at defeating the Intercontinental Champion, William Regal. In the beginning, Perkins used his speed advantage, keeping the larger and slower, Regal, off his game and struggling to get a foothold in the match. Perkins wowed the crowd with some of his high octane offense, and when Regal left the ring to regroup, Perkins done it again, wowing the crowd with a springboard moonsault onto the I.C Champion.

Perkins got a couple of near falls before going for another move from the top rope, looking for a missile drop kick, but Regal was smart enough to dodge it, and then dive on Perkins, keeping him grounded. He utilised many knees, and stiff elbows to the downed TJ Perkins, using his cunning to get back into the match, and get into his game plan. The I.C Champion continued to give TJ some stiff shots, wearing him down as he prepared to end the match.

But as Regal was attempting to do just that, Perkins got a new lease of life, battling back, fighting with all his strength, until he created enough separation to hit a very hard Roundhouse kick to the head. With Regal down and out, TJ hit his standing Corkscrew Moonsault, getting a near fall.

With the crowd groaning at the kick out, TJ went to the top rope, looking to hit the 450 Splash, but suddenly Nigel McGuiness was sprinting down the ramp, hopping onto the apron and drawing the referees attention. And from the crowd, came Drew McIntyre, behind the referee, climbing onto the apron, pushing TJ off the turnbuckle, right onto the mat below. With Nigel still distracting the ref, Drew dropped down, grabbed TJ and hit him with the Future Shock DDT onto the floor!

Drew ducked away as Nigel dropped down, joining him on the other side, with William Regal shouting on the referee to begin counting. He did so, ever so slowly getting up to five, then six, but at seven we saw a bit of movement, eight – TJ tried to prop himself up, nine – to the dismay of the crowd, he fell back down. And the referee counted ten.

Winner – William Regal via Count Out @ 12.58

A huge cry of heat comes from the crowd, while Regal drops to his knees, overreacting to his count out victory here tonight. The referee exits the ring, and grabs the Intercontinental Championship before climbing back in and handing it to Regal who yanks it away. Drew and Nigel, the World Tag Team Champions join Regal in the ring, but then Regal whispers something to Nigel and he exits the ring.

Grabbing Perkins and rolling him back into the ring. He still seems dazed, lying in the centre of the ring with The Monarchy, sans Wade Barrett, surrounding him. He gets up to his knees, looks at Nigel and in spirited fashion says “come on then”.

But he’s smashed from the side, by William Regal who CONNECTS WITH A KNEE TREMBLER!!

Michael Cole: Oh, jesus, right to the temple!

TJ is totally out now, lying face down but The Monarchy aren’t finished. Regal motions to Nigel, who walks forward and picks TJ up, but before he can do any damage...

***WRITTEN IN MY FACE***

Despite only debuting a couple of weeks ago, Sheamus gets a massive reaction as HE SPRINTS DOWN THE RAMP... WITH A STEEL PIPE IN HIS HAND!

Mick Foley: Here comes help!

He slides into the ring, and swings wildly at McIntyre who ducks, and quickly dives out of the ring. He swings at Nigel but he does the same, ducking and getting the hell out of there. Sheamus turns looking for Regal, but he’s already on the stage, and is soon joined by his Monarchy brethren. Regal holds his Intercontinental Title high in the air, as Sheamus looks on, snarling at the group that beat him to a pulp last week.

Michael Cole: Someone needs to get some help from TJ, Mick. He doesn’t look good, not at all.

5 – The Colons; Carlito & Primo vs. Cryme Tyme; JTG & Shad

In a short contest, two of Raw’s best tag teams battled it out in a bid to show who was the better team. Primo and Shad started off for their respective teams, and in the early going it was Cryme Tyme taking advantage with Shad using his strength to overpower the smaller man. The crowd were split in their support which made for an awkward dynamic every time someone was tagged in.

At the end of the contest, it was JTG who was the legal man, and Carlito was for his team. They battled after Primo had taken out Shad with a high flying move. JTG and Carlito battled, momentum shifting before JTG finally put the Colon away with Da Shout Out!

Winners – Cryme Tyme @ 6.39

JTG rolls out of the ring, receiving a respectful pop, he falls back onto the steel ramp as Shad makes his way around the ring to join his homie. In the ring however, it’s not as rosey, Carlito is now on his knees, shaking his head, looking down and a bit frustrated. Primo slides into the ring, and tries to help Carlito up... but Carly pushes him away!

With some boos from the crowd, Primo looks at his family member, asking what the problem is. Carlito seems to realize what he just did, and begins to apologise, saying what he did was in the heat of the moment. Primo takes it well, accepting the apology, and the two brothers slap hands and embrace in a MANLY hug.

Michael Cole:
Well, that was certainly interesting.

Mick Foley: Carlito didn’t seem best pleased about the loss, could we be seeing cracks in The Colons?

***VOICES***

A booming reaction of heat greets the music of the WWE Champion, Randy Orton who slowly walks onto the stage, wearing a black Legacy tee, with the WWE Championship hanging from his shoulder. He takes a look around the arena before adjusting the title onto his shoulder and walking on down the ramp. He walks around the ring, and takes a seat on a Steel Chair which was conveniently placed near the announce table.

Main Event – Batista & Rey Mysterio vs. Legacy; Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase w/Randy Orton

The commentators spend the first chunk of the match going over how Orton has been running riot over Raw for the past few months, and if Batista is finally the man that will be able to stop him. They also question what Legacy were talking about backstage in regards to dealing with Rey Mysterio, and then dealing with Batista. Whilst they were talking, some wrestling was, indeed, taking place, and it was Rey Mysterio who was on top of his game, using his speed to get the advantage, and then tagging out to bring in the strength of the tag team.

Orton watched from ringside as his Legacy stable mates were being destroyed by The Animal and his partner. The frustration was growing as he watched, but finally Legacy got a foot hold in the match when DiBiase distracted ‘Tista on the apron, and Rhodes took advantage with a chop block. From there, Legacy utilized quick tags, keeping the big man from his partner, working over his legs.

The WWE Champion continued to watch, growing pleased with what he was seeing, but his delight turned sour as Batista began to fight out of his predicament. He was stuck in the corner when he elbowed Rhodes in the face, then took out DiBiase on the apron. The Animal got fired up, hitting a series of high impact moves before hitting his signature spinebuster, but when he pulled Rhodes up for the Batista Bomb, his leg buckled and down he went.

Rhodes got the tag to his partner, just as Batista got the tag to his, and the two men met in the centre with DiBiase and Rey trading punches and kicks, respectively. This continued for a few minutes, with Rey eventually getting the better of DiBiase, until Rhodes got involved, distracting Rey. Legacy got control of the match again, but it didn’t last long though as Rey used his speed to get away from them and get the hot tag to The Animal.

Seemingly shrugging off his injured leg, Batista ran through everyone in his path, bulldozing through DiBiase and then knocking Rhodes from the apron. The crowd were on fire as Batista was looking to end the match, he hit another spinebuster, and then walked over to the ropes, shaking them, getting the crowd up before turning around... INTO AN RKO!

Winner – Batista & Rey Mysterio via Disqualfication @ 10.33

Despite Batista and Mysterio being named as winners, it’s a very negative response as The Viper stands above The Animal, having just hit his specialised RKO. Rhodes joins him in the ring and begins stomping on Batista, but Orton slaps him on the shoulder and points to Rey. Rhodes makes his way towards the little man, while DiBiase slides into the ring with... with handcuffs?

Michael Cole: What the?

The crowd immediately begin booing as Orton drags Batista into a corner, and then DiBiase attaches the handcuffs to his arm, and then CUFFS HIM TO THE BOTTOM ROPE!!

Mick Foley: He’s... he’s handcuffed!

Michael Cole: I don’t like this.

DiBiase and Orton turn around and see Mysterio being thrown into the ring by Cody. He struggles to his knees, and Orton tells DiBiase to leave the ring. The two members of Legacy, grab two steel chairs and slide them over to Orton. Batista seems to be coming too, but he doesn’t realise what is going on.

Orton pulls Mysterio up, he tries to fight, by hitting Orton in the stomach with some weak punches but he’s kneed in the stomach. Orton pushes Rey back, he hits the ropes, and bounces back... RIGHT INTO AN RKO!

The massive impact on the ring alerts Batista to what is going on, he tries to get up and help, but he’s then realized he’s cuffed to the bottom rope. He tries to pull himself free but it’s no use, he has to watch as Orton places a Steel Chair underneath the face of Mysterio!

Michael Cole: We need to get some help out here!

Orton glances at Batista, before grabbing the other Steel Chair, and with Rhodes and DiBiase watching from the ramp – raises the chair above his head... one more glance at The Animal... AND BRINGS IT DOWN ON THE BACK OF MYSTERIO’S HEAD!

Michael Cole: Oh! That’s sickening!

The heat is indescribable as Orton looks down at Mysterio, as Batista tries violently to break free from the cuffs, but The Viper knows they won’t break so he walks closer to Batista. With his WWE Championship now in his hands, he places it just out of reach of Batista. The last image of the show – Randy Orton, WWE Championship, just out of Batista’s reach.
