Re: WWF 2001 - Invading The Right Way

First time reader. I enjoy WCW threads and Invasion threads are fun to read. If I didn't have an existing thread I would definetely do either a WCW thread or an Invasion thread. It's nice to see an Invasion thread, hope to see more. SummerSlam card looks stacked.

The WCW cruiserweight team is a lot better than the Light Heavyweight team but since Iím a big fan of Tajiri Iím glad he didnít end up on the losing side. Tajiri wins it for his team, so thatís a nice result.

Good opener between The Filthy Animals against X-Factor, it set the tone for the rest of the ppv. Itís the right choice to have Rey and Kidman go over X-Pac and Credible.

Edge and Christian vs Los Guerreros, now that would have been such a fun feud to watch. Two great entertaining teams going at it, Iím more of an E & C fan so Iím glad they won. I liked the finish. You could have had a singles match follow the opener rather than doing two tag matches.

Not really into Test vs Kane match but itís fine for a Hardcore match. Big win for Test. I like Mike Awesome and it would have been great if he wrestled Kane instead of Test. Awesome vs Kane is a feud Iíd be interested in.

Hardys vs Palumbo and OíHaire was good . Now if only OíHaire hit the Seanton Bomb lol on Jeff Hardy to win the match.

Kurt Angle vs Lance Storm was a match I really wanted to see during the Invasion angle, unfortunately we didnít get it. So itís nice to see this on your btb, good match. Storm was very underrated.

Rhyno vs Kanyon would have been good but it was quick, impressive win for Rhyno.

DDP and Benoit had some great matches in WCW, good to see them go at it here at SummerSlam. Very good match and I expect this feud to continue. I was hoping for Benoit to try to lock the crossface in but Page would counter and boom he hits the Diamond Cutter. Just like Ortonís win at SummerSlam 2004.

Good win for APA, WWE needed to get back to winning ways because WCW needed one more victory.

Flair vs Rock was a fun match, another match I wanted to always see on ppv. A great victory for Rock against the legendary Nature Boy.

Nice to see Austin get the win against Booker to tie the scores going into the sudden death match. I enjoyed their feud in real life but unfortunately they never had a one on one ppv match.

Main event was great, Undertaker vs Jericho(one on one) was a match I always wanted to see on ppv. Big Show costs Undertaker the championship, shocking ending. Iím glad that Jericho wins the belt here and it will be a fun era of Jericho as champion.

Overall a solid ppv, strong card and just like Fully Loaded, WCW win again, WCW looking very strong. You booked a lot of matches that I wanted to see in real life. Looking forward to Austin feuding with Jericho, Undertaker feuding with Big Show. Big Show and Jericho are two guys that would have been a great fit in WCW during the Invasion. Keep up the good work, looking forward to more.

Thanks for the review man hoping to get some more in the near future, yeah I know what you mean with the double tag opening but my hands were a itle tied with the singles matches I had, I didnt want to have any of my big 4 in the lower card so had to just do it haha

My main regret was I couldnt fit Mike Awesome in, I am a huge mark for the guy, I thought about putting him in agaisnt Rhyno but that would halt Rhynos or Awesomes momentum and with both guys having big futures in my project I have delayed that possible feud

Yeah E&C v Guerreros would have been an awesome feud, both teams can wrestle and they add some great backstage and comedy to the shows, this definitley isnt the end of this one

Plus you can probably gather there is more from The Rock and Flair and there should be a great journey with that one

Big Show turning makes sense. So far the guys I have defected have been Malenko, SAturn, Regal, Test, Jericho and Big Show and obviously only Test has no WCW history but I put his turn down to the fact that he hates Vince over what happened with Steph

Think i might post a current roster shortly just to let people know who I have available and that

Once agin thanks for the review man, highly appreciated

Re: WWF 2001 - Invading The Right Way

You definitely have talent, and really convey how personal the whole invasion is. You really capture the mannerisms of each wrestler well as well thier movesets. Also, each wrestlers' desperation for victory was apparant as well as thier hatred. My only issue is your content or lack thereof. I'm ok with only including the ending, but perhaps you should look at Nige's btb, he includes the endings only for the most part. However, it's a good few paragraphs, more detail helps. I know you have it in you, some of your spots were very cool, they just need a bit more an you'll be golden. I really do like your approach to this, please keep up the good work!

INJURY UPDATE

Quote:

At the Summerslam pay-per-view, WCW star Dean Malenko ruptured a knee ligament as he and partner Perry Saturn relinquished the WWF Tag Team championships to The APA

Malenko is set to be out for around 3-6 months which is a big blow to the backstage heirarchy

The top brass were apparently very impresed with the team of Saturn and Malenko and Saturns short term plans are now up in the air
