Default Pro Wrestling: World

I've done this before in other capacities but never at this site. What I've done is put together my dream roster of wrestlers to try and put together the best cards, angles and matches possible. Some may call it cheating, but... eh. This interests me a lot more than taking any other "real" roster where there are always going to be a handful of guys that I've got no interest in and won't want to use. It will follow a 4 TV show/1 PPV a month format. The three titles are:

Pro Wrestling: World Universal Title

Pro Wrestling: World Global Title

Pro Wrestling: World Tag Team Titles

Each will have a tournament to crowd the first champions. The roster is as follows:

Main Event
Shawn Michaels
John Cena
Samoa Joe
Bryan Danielson
Triple H
Chris Benoit
Kurt Angle
CM Punk

Midcard/Uppermid card
AJ Styles
Davey Richards
Eddie Edwards
Alex Shelley
Chris Sabin
Tyler Black
Roderick Strong
Austin Aries
El Generico
Akira Tozawa
Paul London
Brian Kendrick
Kenna Omega
PAC
Matt Jackson
Nick Jackson
Adam Cole
Kyle O'Reilly
Chris Hero
Claudio Castagnoli
Low Ki
Michael Elgin
Mark Briscoe
Jay Briscoe
KENTA
Naomichi Marufuji
Kevin Steen
Mitsuhara Misawa
Kenta Kobashi
Christopher Daniels
Super Dragon
Scott Lost
Katsuhiko Nakajima
Nigel McGuinness
SHINGO
Chuck Taylor

I won't be posting the brackets, those will all be a mystery.

As for show formats, I'm very big on writing the matches. Recaps would be easier, but writing them out give me a lot more freedom to give little touches and storytelling bits that just add to the overall read. With that said, the shows won't come out at a rapid pace. They'll take time. I'll try and get into a groove of one a week, but no promises.

Hopefully all of that wasn't for naught, and people actually care and get interested and read this. To those who do end up reading this, it's much appreciated, and it goes without saying that any and all feedback is welcome. Enjoy!

This really a dream roster that I would get behind anytime. I'm guessing this is early 2007-ish, considering Benoit is on this roster...

I'd love to see Misawa & Kobashi bumped to the Main Event!

Good luck with this, you've got a reader here.

Set me off like dynamite strapped tight around my waist

We are the ones in competition but claim this ain't no race

(Let's go!)
Take a breath and explode like bullets tearing through the wind

Cut me up with a razor blade that tries to separate the skin

Now in the

White flames of burning flags we

Found a world worth dying for, yeah

We've been battered so hard that we don't

feel anymore

Take me from this world

Save me

What if we all die young?

So take me

From this world

Save me

What if we

All die young?

The pyro now begins going off as the crowd is on their feet and cheering for the first episode of Pro Wrestling: World. The camera continues to pan around showing various groups of fans until the first wrestler's music hits...

Are you ready?

The crowd ERUPTS as Degeneration X's music hits. Triple H and Shawn Michaels comes out, decked in their camouflage gear, glow sticks and all. They throw those into the crowd and are slapping hands as they make their way down to ringside. Both men then get into the ring and do their trademark poses, keeping the crowd fired up. As their music dies down, their opponent's music hits...

A semi-familiar rock intro begins and the crowd is waiting to see who comes out. They are greeted by a sprinting duo... it's Paul London and Brian Kendrick! The crowd definitely likes this match-up, but don't give the two men nearly as loud of an ovation as DX got. Both men slide into the ring, almost all the way out, before they are up to their feet. Both are in high spirits, but not their jovial selves. They're focused on the task at hand.

Tag Title Tournament First Round Match
Degeneration-X(Triple H and Shawn Michaels)vs. Spanking London(Paul London and Brian Kendrick)

Triple H and Brian Kendrick start this match off for their respective teams. They meet in the center with a Collar and Elbow lock up, HHH easily muscling Kendrick into a neutral corner. The referee asks for the break and gets one quickly. HHH is slow to back up when Kendrick shoots out of the corner! School boy rollup!

Kickout!

Kendrick is up first to his feet, and he lays in some boots to HHH, knocking him back to his corner. Kendrick makes a quick tag to London, who makes his way to the top rope. Kendrick wrings HHH's left arm as London comes down with an Ax Handle Smash! HHH tries to get away and get a tag out, but London wrings the arm again, cinching the hold. HHH pushes London up against the ropes and shoots him off, waiting to hit him with a Back Body Drop. London sees it coming however, and leap frogs over HHH's back. Before he can realize what happened, HHH turns around and takes a charging Dropkick! Cover!

2

Kickout!

London starts laying the boots to HHH's shoulder. HBK is on the apron, trying to get the crowd to pump HHH up. London picks HHH up by the hair and rams him shoulder first into a neutral corner. HHH pushes him away with his good arm, but London stays on him. London grabs him by his bad arm and throws him into the neutral corner. But it gets reversed! HHH puts some extra power into the whip to buy some time, and London crumbles in the corner clutching his back. HHH stumbles over to his corner holding his left arm, and tags in Shawn Michaels! The crowd cheers at this, while HBK quickly gets into the ring to capitalize on London, who is now up and slumped in the neutral corner. HBK follows with a BIG chop that resonates throughout the arena. Two more follow as London tries to get some distance, but finds none as HBK stays on him. He lifts London up and plants him on the mat with a Body Slam. Cover!

Kickout!

HBK gets to his feet but comes down fast with an elbow drop. London tries rolling away but gets caught with another elbow drop, this time to the back! London is reaching for his corner, but is too far away. HBK plants a knee into London's back, grabs him by the chin and just wrenches him back, putting pressure on the back. Kendrick rushes into the ring to try and break the hold, but HHH sees it and rushes in with a clothesline! Kendrick goes rolling to the outside as HHH flexes and poses, London is yelling out in pain, reaching for the ropes... and he gets it! HBK breaks it at 3 but lays in a few stomps as he gets up to his feet. HHH is now back on the apron, but not for long as HBK tags out. Both men now whip London off of the ropes and HBK presses London up HIGH into the air and HHH catches him for a SPINEBUSTER! Cover!

1

2

Kickout!

HHH rolls London over onto his front and hits the ropes, coming back to deliver a knee to the middle of London's back! He tries to wrench up on his back like Michaels had, but London realizes what's coming and rolls to the ropes, finding a little solace. HHH stays on him, however, and lays in more stomps. He picks London up and throws him into the ropes chest first, catching him on the bounce back and laying in a forearm to the small of his back! HHH sets himself and picks London up now with a Belly To Back Suplex! Cover!

Kickout!

HHH isn't showing frustration yet, but he's definitely sensing that he and HBK could put this match away soon. He drags London up to his feet and whips him off the ropes again and catches him with another SPINEBUSTER! NO! London grabbed onto HHH's head and laid him out with a DDT! The crowd lets out a loud "OOOHHH!" and Kendrick is fired up on the apron, waiting for the tag! HBK is trying to get HHH fired up as well, as he doesn't want the tide to turn. Both men are crawling towards their corners... and HHH makes the tag! HBK is in the ring and grabs at London's leg right as he leaps and makes the tag! Kendrick is in and he's all full of energy! He takes HBK down with a right hand! HBK is up and charging but takes another right hand! HBK is up again and charges at Kendrick with a clothesline, but he ducks it and Dropkicks HHH out of the ring! He turns around and as HBK is charging at him again, gets leveled with a Spinning Heel Kick! HBK rolls out of the ring holding his jaw as Kendrick is all alone in the ring, and the crowd knows what's about to happen! Kendrick starts clapping and getting the crowd to make some noise as he hits the ropes and gets a full head of steam... and dives onto both HHH and HBK!! The crowd roars their approval at the athleticism. Their attention is diverted though as London is in the ring and clutching at his back, slowly, painfully getting to his feet. A small "London!" chant starts and grows until the entire arena is chanting his name! London is looks around the arena and makes his way up onto the turnbuckles... he's standing trying to gain his balance... AND LAUNCHES HIMSELF DOWN WITH A SHOOTING STAR PRESS! The crowd erupts yet again at London's crazy dize, but London is in a lot of pain! Kendrick wastes no time in throwing HBK back into the ring. Cover!

2

Kickout!

Kendrick can't believe it! He picks HBK up to his feet and sets up for Sliced Bread #2! But HBK pushes him in between the middle and top ropes! SUPERKICK TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD! Kendrick slumps down to the mat as HBK pulls him to the middle of the ring. On the outside, London is getting to his feet, but HHH is as well. London slides in as HBK covers!

HHH stops London and pulls him to the outside! PEDIGREE TO LONDON ON THE OUTSIDE!

3!!!

Dave Prazak: Top notch action from some of the best in the world! Wrestling fans watching at home, I am your play by play announcer Dave Prazak and this is Pro Wrestling: World's first episode of Monday Night Takeover! Alongside me is my broadcast partner, John Bradshaw Layfield!

John Bradshaw Layfield: Shut up Prazak! I can introduce my own damn self! My name is John.... Bradshaw.... Layfield. And while I can no longer grace that ring with my wrestling gifts, I can damn sure grace this commentary booth with my vocal gifts!

DP: Fair enough, John, but what a contest we just witnessed! This means that the team of Degeneration X will be advancing to the next round of our Tag Team Title tournament! Against who? We'll just have to wait and find that out! Thankfully, however, we will NOT have to wait to see our next match, as that will be starting right now!

"Earth People" by Dr. Octagon plays and the crowd is unsure of who is coming down to the ring. A man in all black pants and top is walking down to the ring with a long, flowing black robe. There are green and gold signs and symbols on his clothes, with a dragon on the back of his robe. A mask is covering his face, with tenticle-like dreads hanging off the sides. He slides into the ring and takes his robe off, the crowd giving a smattering of applause to this unknown wrestler

DP:
Ladies and gentlemen, the man walking down to the ring right now is SUPER DRAGON. A legend on the Southern California Independent Scene, he had actually been retired for the past few years due to complications with concussions. He is now back, however, and very ready to take on any challengers in his way.

"The Leaving Song" by AFI hits and again the crowd is confused until they see one half of the Motor City Machine Guns CHRIS SABIN come out onto the entrance ramp! The crowd begins to cheer loudly, knowing who this wrestler is, and he quickly makes his way down to the ring, high fiving fans on the way.

JBL:
Now as much as I hate his pretty boy look with his Justin Bieber hair, I know that Chris Sabin is one hell of a wrestler, and he's going to take it to this... Super Dragon, as hard as he can.

DP: Wait... Justin Bieber? Who's Justin Bieber? Is that another wrestler?

JBL: Oh don't get me started, Prazak! You know who Justin freakin' Bieber is! Don't you dare try and tell me you don't know who he is! Pop singer? Millions of fans!? Teen heart throb!?!?

DP: Nope... doesn't ring a bell. It sounds like you know all about him, though. To the match, shall we?

Global Title First Round Match

"The Future" Chris Sabin vs. Super Dragon

The two men lock up in the middle of the ring. Dragon throws an arm up and goes under, getting behind Sabin with a waist lock. He wastes no time picking him up and slamming him to the mat. Dragon then transitions to a front facelock, cinching it in. Sabin tries to get out, but finds it difficult due to Dragon's grip. After a few tries, however, he slips out and reverses it, getting his own front facelock. Dragon uses his size and power to get to his feet, forcing Sabin to switch to a Headlock. Dragon steps down on Sabin's left leg, taking him down to a knee for leverage, and slips right out of the headlock, securing one of his own. Sabin tries the same thing, but cannot bring Dragon down. Instead he pushes Dragon back up against the ropes and shoots him off. Dragon comes back at him with a Shoulder Tackle, dropping Sabin to the mat. Dragon hits the ropes, while Sabin drops down in front of him. Dragon leaps over and hits the opposite ropes, looking for another Shoulder Tackle. Sabin is quickly up to his feet and leap frogs over Super Dragon. Sabin turns around RIGHT into a chop! Dragon was waiting for him! Sabin staggers back a few feet, but comes right back with a forearm! This causes Super Dragon to then stagger back, but it only enrages him and he charges... only to get taken down with a Drop Toe Hold! Sabin is up quick and hits the ropes and he drop kicks Dragon in the head! Cover!

1

2

Kickout!

Sabin keeps the pressure on, putting on another head lock, not letting Super Dragon get up to a vertical base. Not too worn down yet, Dragon gets to his feet within seconds. He pushes Sabin back up against the ropes again, shooting him off, but Sabin grabs onto the tassles on his mask! Headlock takeover! Dragon slaps the mat in frustration, then gets a
little momentum going before turning Sabin over. Cover!

1

Kickout!

Sabin keeps a hold of the headlock, wrenching it a little. Dragon groans in pain, reaching up for his ears. Sabin has his weight shifted so Dragon can't roll him over for a pin, but Dragon uses that and grabs Sabin's in a Head Scissors. Sabin tries to break out but can't. After a handful of failed attempts at kipping up and out of the hold, Sabin drags himself and Dragon towards the ropes and gets it, but the damage has been done. Sabin is trying to catch his breath, and Dragon lays in the kicks. They're landed HARD on Sabin's back, making thuds every time. Dragon gets him up to his feet and lays in a quick kick to the gut and a HARD chop! Sabin gets backed up into the corner and Dragon follows in with another hard chop! Forearm! Chop! Forearm! Chop! Forearm! He stops to set Sabin's head up to the side... AND HE BACK HANDS CHRIS SABIN IN THE FACE! Sabin's legs buckle and Dragon notices this, pulling him out and hitting a nice Snap Suplex! Rolls over for the cover!

1

2

Kickout!

Dragon keeps the assault on the head, and drops a knee across the jaw. Sabin tries backing away into a corner, but Dragon follows him in and stomps the head some more. The referee starts a 5 count, and gets to 4 before Dragon backs off. This gives Sabin a chance to get to his feet and dish out some punishment of his own. Sabin puts a lot of force into a STIFF forearm, but it's like Super Dragon doesn't even feel it. He answers back with a stiff forearm of his own! Sabin would be falling onto the ground, but Dragon keeps him up by the hair and continues another onslaught of forearms! One! Two! Three! Four! Five! Sabin is now just a heap in the corner and Dragon pulls him out by his feet. Cover!

1

2

Kickout!

The crowd cheers at this, trying to put some life in Sabin's seemingly lifeless body. Super Dragon takes the opening and scales up to the top rope, measuring Sabin up... AND HE COMES DOWN WITH A DOUBLE STOMP TO THE BACK OF SABIN'S HEAD! Cover!

1

2

Kickout!!

Sabin is really looking out of it now, eyes rolling back in his head, but he's still alive. Dragon wraps his legs around Sabin's head to cut off the blood flow, and gets a modified head scissors on. The crowd is clapping and chanting "SA-BIN! SA-BIN!" and giving him all their energy. Sabin's arm starts to move... and then it goes lifeless. The referee checks his arm once and down! Twice and down! Thre-NO! Sabin's arm stays off of the mat! He's got it pumping now, getting any blood flow he can back into his limbs, and he starts slowly, ever so slowly turning Dragon onto his front. Dragon isn't letting go of the hold, though, and he's struggling for all he's worth to keep Sabin on his back. Sabin is pushing... pushing... pushing... and he gets Dragon over! With the new leverage, Sabin gets out of the hold and hits the ropes hard... SEATED DROPKICK! The force causes Dragon to roll all the way over and up to a knee. Sabin gets to his feet as quick as he can and follows that up with a SEATED ENZIGURI! Dragon falls down in a heap, and Sabin rolls him over. Cover!

1

2

Kickout!

Sabin tries to keep the momentum in his corner and doesn't let Dragon get his wits about him. He picks him up and goes to whip him into the corner, but Dragon reverses! He follows in close behind Sabin, who uses the turnbuckles to launch up, over and behind Dragon! Dragon goes crashing chest first into the corner, bouncing out into Sabin's waiting arms, who picks him up and puts him in the Tree Of Woe! Sabin gets to the opposite corner and gets a head of steam... sliding dropkick! Sabin is back up and into the corner and this time gets some BIG hangtime and comes in with a monster dropkick! He drags Super Dragon out of the corner! Cover!

1

2

'

Kickout!

Dragon kicked out, but it was a much, much weaker kickout than the one before. Sabin can tell this, and he tries to size Dragon up for a kick to the head... AND CONNECTS! Sabin looks out to the crowd and signals for his finisher, the Cradle Shock! He has Dragon up to his feet, now, and onto his shoulders for the Fireman's Carry... the legs are twisted... but Dragon starts elbowing out! He knows this could be the end for him and he still has fight left! Sabin isn't letting go, though, and is trying to swing him down, but Dragon isn't letting him. Finally, Dragon gets free and lands on his feet behind Sabin and lifts HIM onto his shoulders, this time in an Inverted Fireman's Carry. He's going for HIS finishing move, the Psycho Driver! He's got him up and SPIKES HIM DOWN! NO! Sabin backflips all the way around to his feet! Dragon swings at him with a Lariat, but Sabin ducks it and runs towards the ropes, springboards back for a TWISTING DDT! COVER!

1

2

KICKOUT!

The crowd can't believe it! SABIN can't believe it! He sets his resolve, however, and motions again for the Cradle Shock! Dragon uses his weight advantage, though, and acts like dead weight. Sabin connects with three hard forearms to get Dragon to stop fighting, when Dragon DRILLS Sabin in the head with a Rolling Kappo Kick! Sabin hits the mat hard and rolls onto his feet and into the corner. Dragon is slow to his feet and has to take a few seconds to regain his composure, when he charges in for another! Sabin moves out of the way! Quick, hard kick to the gut of Dragon! He's got him up, CRADLE SHOCK! BLOCKED AGAIN! Dragon extends his feet out onto the turnbuckles and grabs Sabin by the hair! AND RIDES HIM DOWN WITH A KNEE TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD! Dragon is up to his feet and hoists Sabin up with him.... PSYCHO DRIVER! COVER

DP: What an upset! The name of Super Dragon carries a fair amount of weight on the independents, but I don't think anyone gave him much of a chance to beat Chris Sabin!

JBL: That is a bad, bad man Dave Prazak! He took some of Chrises best shots and he just would not stop! He's got to be seen as someone to fear now in the Global Title Tournament!

DP: And we're back, folks, with both competitors already in the ring! This is going to be another Global Title tournament match, pitting the Japanese sensation NAOMICHI MARUFUJI against rising power star MICHAEL ELGIN.

JBL: And for that reason alone I've got to take Michael Elgin. He looks like the kind of guy you'd want to be out at the bars with, swiggin' drinks, getting in fights with. I like him!

DP: I feel like we got to know entirely way too much about you in that 10 second span. I don't even want an explanation. Just start the match!

Global Title Tournament First Round Match
Naomichi Marufuji vs. "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin

Marufuji goes for the conventional lock up, but Elgin is having none of it. He gives a kick to the mid-section, and immediately starts wailing away at Marufuji's back. He gets him up for a Body Slam but Marufuji slips up and over. He gets Elgin in a waistlock, who doesn't stay there for long. Elgin reverses to a waistlock of his own. He lifts Marufuji up for a BIG German Suplex, but Marufuji lands on his feet! Elgin turns around and takes a dropkick to the chest! And doesn't go down! Marufuji is up and he lands another! Elgin is still on his feet! Marufuji now hits the ropes to get a head of steam and charges in at Elgin... another dropkick! But this time Elgin had the time to set himself up, and he swats his feet away! Elgin follows up with an Elbow Drop! But Marufuji rolls out of the way! He immediately gets to his feet and hits the ropes, and nails Elgin with a seated dropkick! Cover!

STRONG Kickout!

Marufuji's eyes widen as he didn't even get a 1 count from that! And Elgin is already getting up to his feet! Marufuji hits the ropes again and dropkicks Elgin's legs out from under him! He hits the ropes and dropkicks Elgin in the head again! Cover!

STRONG Kickout!

Marufuji is speechless! But he wastes no time starts to kick away at Elgin, hitting the chest, the head, the arms, anything that's in the path of his feet... and Elgin is still getting up! He pushes Marufuji away, but Marufuji comes back with a forearm! Elgin fires back with a HUGE forearm that knocks Marufuji down! Cover!

Kickout!

Elgin brings him up to a sitting position and gets behind, and starts raining down forearms on Marufuji's chest! He's having a hard time breathing now, the redness really coming up on the skin. Elgin is up and hits the ropes, coming back with and hitting his elbow drop this time. Cover!

Kickout!

Marufuji tries to roll to the outside, creating space but Elgin gives him none. He stomps away at the rolling Marufuji. Elgin grabs Marufuji by the hair and get shim up to his feet WHEN MARUFUJI SUPERKICKS HIM IN THE CHIN! ANOTHER! ANOTHER! Elgin is down!! COVER!

2

KICKOUT!

Marufuji can't believe it! He though catching the monster by surprise would end it! He gets to his feet and tries to pick Elgin up, but he's like dead weight. Kicking out of the kicks must have just been instinct. Marufuji settles on just getting Elgin up to his feet, and goes for another Superkick! ELGIN DUCKS! He has Marufuji up on his shoulders and stands up! POWERBOMB INTO THE TURNBUCKLES! NO! Marufuji slips out and grabs his head! SHIRANUI! NO! Elgin has him on his shoulders and starts to run... Elgin wastes no time in being surprised. He gets Marufuji up to his feet and his him up for another Powerbomb! But Marufuji is fighting it, and starts punching away at Elgin! He spins now, facing the same way as Elgin on his shoulder's AND HITS A REVERSE HURRICANRANA! NO! Elgin's strength holds him up! He brings him back up and tosses him face first into the turnbuckles! He immediately picks him up and spins.... AND HITS A POWERBOMB! COVER!

JBL: That means if you leave, I get Cole too, doesn't it? Well this is just horsesh-... this is mother fu-... I hate you, Prazak.

All of a sudden, a guitar riff hits the PA Speakers. "Cult Of Personality" is blaring and out comes CM PUNK! The crowd cheers loudly, as Punk has his "Best in the World" shirt on, and is pointing to it. He seems to have a scowl on his face, however, and hits the ring without interacting with the fans at all. Both Marufuji and Elgin are still in the ring.

CM Punk: Ya know, I hate to come out here and interrupt this fine wrestling action, but I've got a bit of a problem with tonight's show. Just like all the other wrestlers, I was excited to get the call and be a part of a company that is so stacked and talented. But unlike most of the other wrestlers... I am BETTER than what I'm being given. The crowd boos at this and Punk looks confused You're booing me? Why? I've said since day one that I am BETTER than you! All of you! Everyone in the crowd, everyone in the back, everyone I step into the ring with! Now, I'm fully aware that this is going to make all of you people think I'm cocky. That I have an ego. Well I'm here to tell you... you're right! I AM cocky! I DO have an ego! It does not matter where I have gone, I always rise to the top. ROH? I became World Champion when nobody gave me a chance. And then I held that company hostage! They had to send THREE OTHER MEN to get the job done. Then I went to WWE. I became the World Heavyweight AND WWE Champion! My list of credentials speaks for itself... and yet here I am, day one, and I don't have a match! [B}The crowd cheers at this, causing Punk to simply smile[/b] Go ahead. Go ahead and laugh at me. Mock me. Jeer me. At the end of the day, your worthless cheers and boos are all you have. You all sit out there on your lazy, no good asses, thinking that just because you bought a ticket, your opinion actually matters. Well allow me to be the bearer of bad news... it doesn't! It doesn't mean a single thing. Case in point: The man in this ring, Michael Elgin, just defeated an international superstar. Naomichi Marufuji has made his name for over a decade in this sport, and Elgin wiped the floor with him! That's the kind of man I want on my side when I go to war. Michael, come here.Elgin makes his way over, taking his wrist tape off and dropping it on Marufuji's still downed body Now I don't know what your plans were, but it would make me very, very happy to have you in my corner here in PWW. What do you say? Elgin thinks for a few seconds, the crowd imploring him not to do it... and shakes Punk's hand! Hahaha that's right! I hope the rest of the roster is watching this... the beginning of their end.

Punk then walks out with Elgin, a cocky smirk on his face and the crowd showering him with boos.

JBL:
Yes! Oh my God, Prazak, what did we just see!? Can you believe that team!?

DP: Unfortunately... I can. And no matter how you feel about either man, these two are a more than formidable team. This could do a lot for the careers of both these men.

JBL: It's going to do a lot for the careers of EVERY man. Anybody who crosses their path is gonna have their shortened! I love it!

DP: I just don't get it. Punk knows as well as anyone that not EVERYONE can be on every show, every week. And speaking of that, folks, I'd like to make one thing clear. Throughout all three of our tournaments, there are going to be nights where at LEAST one wrestler will have to have two matches in one night. And when that is, we will never know. We have a basic format of what tournament the next match will fall under, but not the participants.

JBL: Now if you think that's crazy for a promotion to do, think about it just for a second. The kind of men it will take to win these tournament. They will have NO prior knowledge of their opponents before they step into the ring. Strategy and planning go out the window. We're going to find out just who is the very best athlete and wrestler in this company.

DP: Exactly! And all of these fans in attendance and you watching at home get to reap the benefits! You get to see these situations unfold before your very eyes. Now with all that being said, we've got to take a commercial, but when we're back, we'll have a first round match from the Tag Title tournament! Don't go anywhere!

JBL: That's right! Or we'll kill you, you sorry sons of bi-

COMMERCIAL

DP:
And we're back! Folks, already in the ring is the tag team consisting of Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly. Their name is Future Shock! For those of you who are not familiar, Cole is the one with the long hair, and O'Reilly the one obviously without long hair.

JBL: Wow, Prazak, that was detailed. You should go find a new job, you know, maybe hang out in alleys and witness crimes. Then you could go down to the police department with your description. "Uh, yeah, he was.... a man.....with.... brown hair. NO! Blonde hair.... somewhere between a bowl cut and shoulder length... caucasian or african american... with a shirt and pants on. But it could be those pants with the zipper! He could have converted to shorts by now!"

DP: Wow... you done yet? Because that was just SPOT ON. I won't even bother defending myself. There's just no coming back from that. Can we move on so I can try to forget that?

JBL: HA! I knew that was good. Good for you for being honest. Are we ready for the next match yet?

DP: There's already one team in the ring... what do you think, cowboy?

A wolf howl eminates, followed by guitar riffs and two men come out, looking pretty similar. One is slightly taller, but the shorter man is definitely thicker with more muscle and definition. Both men have towels draped over their necks, and they walk straight to the ring, all business.

DP:
Now these two men I know quite a bit about. The smaller of the two, Davey Richards, is world renowned for his wrestling skill, drive, and determination. The taller, Eddie Edwards, goes by the nickname of "Die Hard" and it is very, very apt. That man doesn't have an inch of quit in his body and if he's breathin', he's fightin'.

JBL: And this is where I come in and shock the pants off of you, Prazak! I've been doing my research, and I know that Davey Richards has been Kyle O'Reilly's trainer for some time now. There's a lot more goin' on in this match than just the first round of a tournament. Imagine if O'Reilly could get the win over his mentor! This would be huge for him!

DP: Why are my pants off in this story?

Tag Team Title First Round Match
Future Shock (Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole) vs. The American Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards)

It's Cole and Edwards who start this off for their respective teams. They go to lock up, jockeying for position with neither wanting to give an inch. Edwards starts to use his noticeable size difference, though, and backs Cole up into the corner. The ref gets between them and calls for the break but neither is letting go. Cole starts climbing the ropes to get a leverage advantage, and gets to the second rope before the referee gets the break. Edwards slowly back away AND COLE SPRINGS OUT AT HIM WITH A FLYING LEG LARIAT! This definitely took Edwards by surprise, and Cole is already on the offensive to take advantage. He drops a knee across Edwards jaw. Cole takes a hold of his leg and drags him to the corner, tagging in Kyle O'Reilly. Kyle is in quick with a kick to the chest to Edwards, and he takes him down to the mat with a Snapmare. O'Reilly hits the ropes now, with Richards trying to grab at him to stop him but he can't, and comes back with a STRONG kick to the back! Cole hits the ropes now and follows that up with a Dropkick to the face! Cover!

Cole still doesn't let up on Richards, as he and O'Reilly are making quick tags and staying fresh. Cole whips Davey into the corner and follows in with Double Knees! Richards drops to the ground, clutching his chest and gasping for air. Cole ascends up to the top rope and waits for Davey to turn around... he comes off with a HUGE Crossbody, but Richards sees it coming and counters that with a SPINNING HEEL KICK! Cole bounces on the mat violently as Richards crawls over and tags in to Eddie Edwards. Edwards is still feeling the dropkick on the outside, and he starts making up the difference immediately. He has Cole up on his feet and is DESTROYING him with chops, one after the other just turning Cole's chest red. And crimson! Edwards is opening up blood vessels on Cole's chest and actually piercing skin! Chops over and over and over! Cole is trying to cover up but everytime he does, Edwards separates his arms and goes back to work! Cole finally just drops to the ground, and Edwards switches to stomping down on him! The crowd is loving this brutality, and rise to their feet with cheers and clapping! Edwards almost doesn't even notice it, so focused on the task in front of him. He looks over to Davey, who is still recovering in their corner, and instead lifts Cole up into the air for a Suplex... but drops him chest first! Cole clutches at his chest, still showing the bright red marks where Edwards lit him up. Cole is up to his knees and Edwards hits the ropes NO he doesn't! He charges at O'Reilly and knocks him off the apron with a running boot! He turns back to Cole now and connects with a HUGE kick to the chest! COVER!

O'REILLY in with the save! And he charges right at Edwards and gives HIM a running boot that knocks him off the apron! The referee is trying to get order! He charges at Davey, now, who ducks, O'Reilly leap frogging over him. He hits the opposite ropes now, and ducks a Davey Richards kick and runs straight through AND DIVES THROUGH THE ROPES OUT ONTO EDDIE EDWARDS! Richards is so distracted by what just happened to his partner, that he doesn't see Cole coming to life behind him. SCHOOL BOY ROLL UP!

KICKOUT!

Richards springs to his feet and makes sure it was only a 2 count, completely surprised by the roll up. Cole is still on the canvas, clutching his head, not yet getting the cobwebs out yet. Richards brings him up and whips him into his corner, charging in with a BIG forearm that connects to the head! Richards pushes Cole down to the mat and vaults up and over the ropes onto the apron now, and he runs AND TAKES O'REILLY'S HEAD OFF WITH A KICK FROM BEHIND! Richards is up to the top rope now and motions with his hands... AND COMES DOWN WITH AN ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL SHOOTING STAR PRESS! THAT MEETS ADAM COLE'S KNEES! COLE WITH THE INSIDE CRADLE!

KICKOUT!

Cole can't even capitalize, because of the damage done to him, but he's at least stopped the onslaught from Davey for now. He's looking around, trying to find his corner, but can't, because O'Reilly isn't on the apron. He's still knocked out on the ground, and Richards can't find Edwards because he's still on the ground after the dive from O'Reilly. Both men realize this at the same time, and it's COLE with the first move as he connects with a forearm to Richards! Richards retaliates! Cole! Richards! Cole! Richards! Cole! COLE ducks the forearm from Richards and gets a waistlock! Richards reverses and gets one of his own! Cole tries to swing around, but can't. He looks around and slaps at Davey's hands to break the hold, AND JUMPS UP AND SPINS AROUND TO LAND A KICK TO DAVEY'S HEAD! Davey is still on his feet! Cole is up! He gets Davey in a waistlock again and wraps the arms... STRAIGHT JACKET GERMAN SUPLEX! WITH A BRIDGE!

KICKOUT!!!

Cole can't believe it! He thought that would be it! He looks around again for O'Reilly, and sees him stirring, but just barely. On the other hand, Edwards is getting back onto the apron. He realizes he needs to buy more time and after he gets Davey up onto his feet, he charges Edwards and leaps at him WITH A MAFIA KICK! But Edwards saw it coming! He catches his leg and sticks it under the top turnbuckle! Edwards then turns AND JUMPS OFF THE APRON FOR A DOUBLE STOMP TO O'REILLYS BACK! Now that he's on the ground again, Edwards runs and hits a Seated Dropkick to Cole's face! Throughout all this Davey made his way to the ropes so he could tag Edwards back in, who immediately gets Cole out of the corner and onto his feet.Edwards slips bends Cole's leg over his knee and gets him up and PLANTS him with the 2K1 Bomb! He's not finished! He gets Cole up and hits ANOTHER! COVER!

COLE WITH HIS FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE!

Edwards doesn't even hesitate and drags him to the middle of the ring, grabs his leg, flips him over, and he's got the Single Leg Boston Crab cinched in! Cole is easily crawling to the ropes, as his leg really hasn't been worked over at all in this match. Edwards sees this and drags him back to the middle AND STARTS STOMPING AWAY AT HIS HEAD! OVER AND OVER! Each is landing on the back of Adam Cole's head, draining the consciousness out of him bit by bit. Behind both men, O'Reilly is again stirring on the outside, and Davey sees this and readies himself for another kick to the head! O'Reilly sees it coming this time, and ducks, grabbing Davey's leg at the same time AND SWEEPING HIM OFF THE APRON! Richards lands on his front, as O'Reilly pulls himself up onto the apron! He sees Cole getting stomped on repeatedly and wastes no time getting into the ring to break it up WITH A VICIOUS KICK TO THE SIDE OF EDWARDS' HEAD! Edwards drops in a heap and O'Reilly pulls Cole over to the corner! HE TAGS IN!

O'Reilly stumbles back into the ring, clearly not fully recovered from the damage he's received. He picks Eddie up and connects with a series of kicks, chops and punches! Eddie is wobbily on his feet, but stays up as O'Reilly hits the ropes.... ONLY TO COME BACK AND GET HIS HEAD TAKEN OFF BY A LARIAT! COVER!

COLE IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! OVER AND OVER HE STOMPS ON THE BACK OF KYLE'S HEAD AND NECK! O'Reilly is trying to fight it... he's slowly inching over to the ropes... but he can't make it! Right as he's about to reach for the rope, his arm drops to the mat! The referee checks! He raises the limp arm!

It drops ONCE!

It drops TWICE!

IT DROPS A THIRD TIME!

JBL: GOD IN HEAVEN that was a war if I've ever seen one! Those four men beat the hell out of each other just to get back the first round! Just think of what they're willing to do next time!

DP: Surprisingly, I'm going to have to agree with you on that one. What a phenomenal back and forth match between these two teams! They left it all out there in the ring, and these fans couldn't get enough! And why bother waiting, let's get to our next match, which is a part of the UNIVERSAL TITLE TOURNAMENT!

JBL: Yes! Now we're talkin'! We've seen some fine matches tonight, but this is what I've been waitin' for just like everybody else!

If you're havin' girl problems I feel bad for you son. I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one

SAMOA JOE is the man who walks out, eyeing Adam Cole, who is carrying Kyle O'Reilly up the ramp, who is just coming to from being knocked unconscience by Eddie Edwards. Joe doesn't break his stride, though, and again eyes both Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards as they make their way up the ramp as well. Joe is in the ring and goes to the corner, throwing his hand up in the air and posing for the fans who are cheering him loudly.

A wolf howl eminates, followed by a guitar riff and the entire crowd let's out an "OOOHHH" as both Richards and Edwards freeze at the top of the entrance ramp! Even Joe stops his posing to turn around with a confused, but happy grin on his face. Neither Richards nor Edwards are moving, when someone from backstage runs out and frantically talks to both men, looking at both men. It's Davey who reacts, dropping his head in exhaustion and talks to Edwards for a few seconds before patting him on the shoulder... and walking to the back! It's EDDIE EDWARDS who starts walking to the ring now, still drenched with sweat and exhausted from his match that just took place!

DP:
You've gotta be kidding me! We just brought this exact situation up before the tag team match! I can't believe Eddie Edwards is going to have to wrestle two back to back matches!

JBL: That's wrestling, pansy! You never know the hand you're going to be dealt, you just have to roll with it and pray you've got the mind, body and spirit to not waiver under the pressure. That last match showed us what Eddie Edwards was made of, physically. This right here is gonna show us what that boy's made of on the inside. How bad does he want it!?

DP: Well we're about to find that out right now! It's Samoa Joe versus Eddie Edwards!

Universal Title First Round Match
"The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe vs. "Diehard" Eddie Edwards

The camera man is following Eddie Edwards to the ring, and you can see Samoa Joe grabbing a microphone as Edwards climbs back into the ring, clearly still exhausted.

Samoa Joe:
Look, Eddie, I don't really know you all that well. It doesn't matter to me who I fight, but I don't see the point of beating up a man who just went through a battle like you did. Let's call the match off for this week, we'll go next week, you can recooperate and we can do this the right way. What do you say?Edwards takes the mic from Joe, breathing heavily

Eddie Edwards:
Joe, you're right... you don't know me. But I am a WOLF. I hunt.... and right now, it doesn't matter what I just did. I've got to wrestle, and you are in my way. There is no next week for me. There's only tonight. So LET'S. GO.The crowd cheers at this. Joe is shaking his head and takes the mic back, and you overhear Edwards DON'T YOU PITY ME.

Samoa Joe: You don't get it. The second that bell rings, I am going to rip. You. Apart. I'm trying to be fair about this. I don't want to beat an already beaten down man. I want to beat you at 100%. Now go to the back, rest up, and I'll see you next week.Edwards grabs the mic again, shaking his head and looking Joe in the face

Eddie Edwards:
....HE SLAPS JOE IN THE FACE!

Joe is PISSED, his eyes wide open, nostrils flared out, He charges at Edwards. who side steps him and grabs him around the waist! He pushes Joe into the ropes and goes for an O'Connor Roll, but Joe holds onto the ropes and Edwards goes rolling backwards! He lands on his feet however, and Joe turns and charges again, but this time Edwards drops to the ground and grabs his leg AND ROLLS BACK INTO THE SINGLE LEG BOSTON CRAB! HE'S GOT IT LOCKED ON TIGHT AND STOMPING ON THE BACK OF JOE'S HEAD! Joe is flailing and trying to get out of the hold! Edwards is still kicking, but they're not coming quick anymore. Edwards is losing steam, and losing his grip on the hold as well. Joe senses this and powers himself up and out of the hold, sending Edwards to the ground! Joe makes his way to his feet, clutching the back of his head, with a murderous look in his eyes. Edwards has already turned around to keep Joe in his line of sight. Joe starts walking towards him, and he UNLOADS with multiple kicks to the legs and body of Edwards, who is almost powerless to stop him! Joe keeps advancing forward and he lunges forward connecting with a knee to the face! Edwards isn't moving! Joe picks him up and sets him on the top rope... he's got him on his shoulders....AND HE DROPS HIM DOWN WITH THE MUSCLE BUSTER! COVER!

DP: My GOD Joe just lost it on him there at the end!

JBL: What the hell was Edwards thinking!? This was for the most pretigious title we have, and he's trying to be honorable! He could make history and he's putting his PRIDE first!?

DP: Well maybe his pride and honor MEANS something to him! He can still make history and be a part of the first Tag Team Champions!

JBL: That's true, but being the absolute best... having that belt... well, it changes you. It means more. I would know, I was a World Champion for ten months at one point in my career. It brings your confidence up, your swagger. You believe in yourself more. THAT is something to be proud of, Prazak.

DP: Well I'd have to take your word for it.What we have up next, however is our MAIN EVENT of the evening! Right after we take this final commercial break!

COMMERCIAL

We come back to the very beginning of another guitar-riff themed song, when a man walks out by the name of CHRIS BENOIT. The crowd erupts in a loud, loud chorus of boos, just showering down on the man. He walks out with not a cocky grin, not a frown, simply the face of a man who has no emotions. He walks down the ramp with a purpose, up the steps and through the ropes. He's rubbing his hands together, awaiting to see who his opponent will be.

YOU ARE YOU ARE, I AM I AM

AJ STYLES is the man who walks out from the curtain, and the crowd responds loudly to this fan favorite! Styles has his ring jacket on, the hood up and he's making sure to high five every fan on the way to the ring. Styles finally walks up the steps and into the ring, and he's met by Benoit, who gets right up in his face to exchange some words. Styles doesn't back down an inch, however, and the referee has to break the two up. Once he gets his space, Styles slaps his chest twice and throws them out, taking his hood off and posing for the crowd. Benoit looks even more surly at this point, and you can see him telling the ref to hurry it up and get the match started. Styles finally has his jacket off and going to his corner.

Universal Title First Round Match
"The Crippler" Chris Benoit vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles

The bell rings and Benoit is out quick, locking up with Styles before he can barely get out of his corner. He throws Styles arms up and switches behind him getting him with a waistlock and tossing him into air, only to bring him down on his stomach. Benoit mounts up on top of Styles, just paint brushing him in the back of the head. Styles is trying to get out, but Benoit isn't letting him. He grabs Styles by the chin and WRENCHES, getting him in a modified Camel Clutch. Styles bats at his hands, not letting Benoit get a good, solid grip. Styles gets up to his knees, and actually lifts Benoit up onto his back and stands up! Benoit realizes what's happening and drops down and grabs Styles' arm! He's trying to bring him to the mat for the Crippler Crossface! Styles feels this, and actually trips Chris up, taking him down to his back. Styles hits the ropes, and Benoit gets up to his feet but gets taken right back down with a Shoulder Tackle! The crowd cheers at this, and Styles pats his chest and poses right over Benoit! Benoit's rage is apparent, and Styles just smirks and hits the ropes again. Benoit sees it coming this time, and instead goes to grab his arm, but Styles reverses THAT and sends Benoit into the ropes now. Styles leap frogs right over Benoit, letting him hit the ropes, and then drops down, letting Benoit pass right over him. Styles jumps up to his feet before Benoit can even hit the ropes and turn around, though, and leaps, and CONNECTS with a Dropkick to Chris Benoit! Benoit hits the mat hard, and rolls out of the ring. Again, the crowd cheers at Styles getting the best of Benoit, but Styles isn't done! He grabs the top rope and shoots himself over the top rope onto Benoit! NO! Benoit moves and Styles splats on the ground! Benoit shows off his first smile of his PW:W career, and it's as awful as you could've imagined. He gets in the ring now and builds up a head of steam, and dives through the ropes at AJ Styles! BUT STYLES SAW IT COMING! He leapt up and connected with a kick to the side of the head! Styles is holding his ribs as he gets back in the ring and pulls Benoit out of the ropes. Cover!

Kickout!

Styles takes a second to get his air back, and then stomps away at Benoit's mid section. Benoit is trying to create distance and push Styles away, but is definitely having a hard time doing that. Styles gets him up into the corner and connects with a STRONG forearm, the sound echoing throughout the arena. He takes a hold of Benoit's arm and whips him hard into the opposite corner! Styles backs up and then takes off, launching through the air and coming down on Benoit with a HUGE Flying Clothesline! Styles brings Benoit out of the corner now and sets himself up for a Suplex, but Benoit grabs his left arm and twists so hard Styles goes straight to canvas, shoulder first! Styles let's out a loud scream of pain, as Benoit stumbles back and rubs at his chest from the clothesline he just took. Styles meanwhile is trying to stretch out his arm and keep it moving so it doesn't freeze up. Benoit keeps the heat on, though, stomping at his arm, hitting everywhere instead of just one specific spot. He brings up Styles by the bad arm and YANKS on it, trying to tear the shoulder out of it's socket! Again! Again! And again! He brings Styles' arm behind his back now and lifts him up, only to drop him with a Body Slam onto the bad arm! Cover!

Kickout!

Styles had to use all legs on that kickout, as Benoit put his weight on Styles good arm, knowing he's losing strength in the other. Benoit grabs the arm now and he's going for the Crossface! Styles knows he can't let him lock it in, so he shuffles his lower body towards the ropes and forces Benoit to let go. Benoit does at a very long 4 count, only to again lay in some stomps to a downed AJ Styles! He gets Styles by the hair and the trunks and turns towards the corner and tosses Styles shoulder first into the turnbuckles! He grabs him and down it again! He goes to toss Styles again, but this time aims a little lower and throws him SHOULDER FIRST INTO THE RING POST! Styles lets out another loud scream of pain, drawing a sick, awful smile out of Benoit. He makes his way to the apron now and grabs Styles' left arm back and WRAPS it around the post! Over and over! The ref is telling him to stop, but all he can do is start counting Benoit out! Benoit knows this and uses it to his full advantage, making all 91/2 seconds count, doing as much damage to the arm as he can before rolling back in.

Styles is clutching at his arm now, which is bent and up against his body as it if were in a sling. Benoit doesn't let him rest, however, and yanks his arm back out until it's straight. Styles gets to his feet, not allowing Benoit to get leverage. Benoit hooks the arm behind the back again, and has him up for another Body Slam, but Styles floats over! He uses the momentary confusion to wail away on Benoit's neck and back with his good arm, but all Benoit has to do is throw an elbow that connects to Styles' bad arm, and the comeback is stopped. Benoit seems to get a new level of intensity, being caught off guard like that, and CHOPS Styles in the bad arm! Styles drops immediately and Benoit covers!

Kickout!

Benoit uses Styles' own momentum to roll him over AND INTO THE CRIPPLER CROSSFACE! Styles is fighting it now, as Benoit hasn't quite gotten it fully locked in, not being able to trap Styles' arm between his legs. Benoit transitions now, bringing his head up and under Styles' left arm and locks in the Regal Stretch instead! This one is fully applied, with Benoit's hands linked right over Styles' mouth and nose, also cutting off his breathing. Styles is flailing around, reaching desperately for the ropes with his other arm and both legs, but there are none within his reach! Benoit plants his feet now, cinching the move in tighter and lifting Styles' head and upper body off of the mat! Styles finally starts to move towards the ropes, using every muscle he has to drag Benoit and himself. He FINALLY reaches the ropes, with Benoit again breaking after a long 4 count, milking the hold for all he can.

Styles immediately rolls to the floor in pain, and the ref momentarily stops Benoit from following him out, but Benoit shoves him out of the way! The crowd boos loudly at this, and Benoit could care less. He picks Styles up to his feet and wrenches the bad arm a few more times before whipping him HARD into the security railing! Styles is only being held up now by his good arm being draped over the railing, and Benoit charges in with a a knee right to the bad arm! The fans around Styles start jawing with Benoit, who finally acknowledges them, telling them to shut up and get out of his face. He grabs Styles again by the bad arm and whips him AGAIN into the security railing. This time, Styles hits so hard he can't help but bounce forward. Benoit sizes him up and charges again with his knee! But this time Styles sees it coming! HE CATCHES BENOIT AND BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEXES HIM INTO THE SECURITY RAILING!!! The crowd lets out a very loud "OOOHHH" at this, as Benoit is writhing on the ground in pain and Styles is once again clutching his bad arm. He can't immediately follow up, so he uses the time to get as much feeling and motion back into his left arm as he can. A small, but noticeable "AJ STY-LES" chant breaks out in the arena, and it quickly grows into the entire arena cheering for him. Styles looks up and nods his head, getting himself psyched up and the adrenaline pumping. He grabs Benoit by the hair now and rolls him back into the ring! COVER!

Kickout!

The crowd wanted that to be it, and so did Styles. He takes a little more time to shake his arm out, but it's not bending past a certain point, and nothing Styles can do about it will help. He brings Benoit up to his feet, and lays in a HARD forearm! It rocks Benoit, who staggers back a few feet, and Styles follows right back in with another! And another! And ANOTHER! Benoit is all the way back in the corner now, but only for a second, as he headbutts Styles' bad arm! Styles falls back to the center of the ring, while Benoit charges in for a clothesline! Styles ducks it! He races into the corner and jumps onto the second rope, waiting for Benoit to follow in and he BACKFLIPS UP AND OVER BENOIT! HE'S GOT THE HEAD! REVERSE DDT! COVER!

Kickout!

Styles drops his head, just for a second, showing his frustration. He then gets right up to his feet and scales the turnbuckles, looking down at Benoit before raising his good arm, the crowd reacting favorably, and he comes off WITH THE SPIRAL TAP! NO! BENOIT MOVES AT THE LAST SECOND! Both men stay down on the canvas, their pain really starting to catch up to them. It's Benoit's who up to his feet first, and he gets behind Styles, pulling him up by his tights, and wraps his arms around his waist... AND NAILS A GERMAN SUPLEX! HE HANGS ON! The crowd knows what's coming and begins booing Benoit, who drops Styles with ANOTHER German! He rolls over, another! ANOTHER! ANOTHER! ANOTHER! He's not stopping! ANOTHER! Benoit goes for the eighth, getting Styles up, but Styles drops his weight forward, grabbing Benoit's legs AND ROLLING HIM FORWARD! COVER!

KICKOUT!!

The whole arena thought that could be it! But Styles couldn't keep a hold with both arms, and Benoit was able to kick out. Styles is holding the back of his neck, hardly moving on the canvas, but Benoit is back up to his feet. He looks down at Styles AND SNOT ROCKETS HIM! He then ascends to the top turnbuckle and stands... STYLES IS UP! He leaps up AND DROPKICKS BENOIT'S LEGS OUT FROM UNDER HIM! Benoit crotches himself HARD on the top turnbuckle, and Styles pushes both of his legs off to one side and joins him up there! He sits perched on the top rope and starts Benoit up for... could it be?? Styles is going for the STYLES CLASH OFF THE TOP ROPE! Benoit starts fighting him, though, and catches him right in the temple with an elbow! This rocks Styles, who is having trouble keeping his balance, almost falling a few times. Benoit siezes this opportunity and stands on the top rope, while he picks Styles up to his feet on the second rope. He's got Styles by the left arm when he leaps off... AND BRINGS STYLES DOWN WITH HIM WITH A LEG DROP TO HIS BAD ARM! Styles lands on his front and Benoit IMMEDIATELY transitions to THE CRIPPLER CROSSFACE! HE'S GOT IT FULLY LOCKED IN THIS TIME! HE'S WRENCHING!

WILL STYLES TAP??

HE'S REACHING FOR THE ROPES!

HE'S ONLY A FEW FEET AWAY!

ALMOST THERE!

BUT BENOIT WRENCHES UP ON STYLES' HEAD AND ARM!

STYLES HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO TAP OUT! HE TAPS!

JBL: Good God almighty that was a brutal way to put AJ Styles away! He could've broken his shoulder there! And that's not even mentioning THEN putting him in the Crossface!

DP: You are absolutely right! And while it hurts me to say it, Chris Benoit comes out of this with the absolutely CLEAN victory, making AJ Styles tap out fair and square. He earned this victory tonight!

JBL: He sure did, Prazak. I've seen Chris at some of his most destructive points, but I tell you what... this might be the most dangerous I've ever seen him. He struck a hell of a lot of fear into the wrestlers in the back with this performance tonight!

DP: Well, we'll just have to see about that, as he's got a long way to go before he's at the top of the mountain. Folks that wraps up tonight's very first edition of Pro Wrestling: World's Monday Night Takeover! I'm Dave Prazak-

JBL: AND I AM THE WRESTLING GOD!

DP: -... And we'll see you next week!

BACKSTAGE AFTER MONDAY NIGHT TAKEOVER

Eddie Edwards is sitting in his locker room, an ice pack over his neck, still breathing hard, when Davey Richards comes in. He sits next to him, but says nothing at first. After 10-15 seconds though, he speaks.

Davey Richards: You and I both know that there are no consoling words after a loss. We don't take pleasure in giving one hundred percent and coming up short. We always give everything we have. That's not something we take joy in. We take pride in it, though. You lost to Samoa Joe. I'll tell you right now, that will stick with you. But are you going to let it drive you? Or destroy you?

Edwards says nothing at first then throws his ice pack down, starting to breath even heavier than before.

Eddie Edwards:
I'm not worried about what this is going to do to my head. I'm always moving forward. WE are always moving forward. Never back.

Richards: That's right! Now what's in front of us?

Edwards: The tag team titles. Being the first tag team champions. That's what's in front of ME. You know what's in front of you.

Richards: Well I know I'm in the Universal Title tournament, just like you were, and my opponent could be anyone. That just makes me hungrier for the battle. The hunt's still on, brother.

Edwards: It doesn't stop. It never stops. The hunt... is always on.

Both men bring their thumbs across their throats and point at the camera as it fades out.

---------------------------------------

CM Punk and Michael Elgin are backstage, and Punk is seen giving advice to Elgin, before he notices the camera and tells them to get the hell out.

---------------------------------------

Triple H and Shawn Michaels are walking backstage, out of their working gear, showered up, towards the exit. Before they can make their way out, however, a man turns the corner and bumps right in between them.

Shawn Michaels:
Well hey there, champ... didn't think I'd see you again. How you been?

Triple H: Looks like you had a bit of a workout there... how'd your match go?

Chris Benoit: I won. What else is there to know? You two should know that pretty well. I remember the last time we were all in the same ring... the same thing happened, didn't it?

Triple H: Not exactly, no. I know it wasn't me who lost. That only leaves one of us le-

Michaels: Alright, he beat me in our last match, but didn't we have one a month earlier? Who was the Champion in that match?

Triple H: I was. You're not good at this whole insulting people thing anymore, Shawn. Do you know what it's like to go into WRESTLEMANIA as a World Champion?

Michaels: No... but I seem to remember what it feels like to beat YOU for a World Title.

Triple H: And do you know what happened less than a month later?

Michaels: Of course I do. I had a match with you and I... oh, wait...

Benoit: HEY! I know you two like to have nothing but fun and games, but this is serious. I'm letting both of you know that if you can even manage to get past your first round opponents in the Universal Title tournament, you better pray you don't run into me. It will be the end of your run at the belt.

Triple H: Huh... well it's good to know where you stand, then. I guess I'll just have to hope I can avoid you, Chris... but then again, maybe your tune will change when you're in the ring with ME. It's one thing to be in the ring with a guy like AJ Styles, it's another to be in the ring with THE GAME.

Benoit: I've got no problem taking you on anytime, anywh-

Michaels: YEAH! And it's another thing to get in the ring with the Showstopper! The Main Event! The Icon! The HEART BREAK KID SHAAAAAAAAAWN MMMMMMICH-

Benoit gets right up in HBK's face and cuts him off, and the grin on his face stops, too. Neither man moves an inch until it's Benoit who smirks, and pats both men on the shoulders.

Benoit:
Lighten up, Shawn! You know I'm just yankin' your chain. Besides, who knows... maybe we'll meet up in the tag tournament, and I can prove who has the best TEAM, too.

Triple H: And who's your partner, Chris?

Benoit: Don't you worry about that... you'll see when the time comes. Enjoy your victory, boys. You earned it... tonight.

Chris Benoit smiles and pats both men's shoulders again, walking to his dressing room and leaving Michaels and Triple H to themselves, where they can be heard muttering things like "What the hell was that?" and "Did you really beat me the month after I won the title from you? I could've sworn I never lost to you in my life..."
