Off the bat, man; I gotta say I love the time period. WrestleMania X8 was what grabbed my attention when skimming through the section. Even though you've kept the same results from No Way Out 2002, I vaguely remember seeing the event on DVD a while back. It was good pay-per-view. A nice place to start.

I'll keep an eye out for this thread, see what you do with it. Best of luck, bro.

Before I list the matches for WrestleManiaX8 I will post the results of No Way Out 2002 (with one change, that being the HHH vs. Kurt Angle match, that is highlighted in red below).

Instead of listing the entire roster, what I will do is start to posting each of the matches that will take place at WrestleManiaX8 (including backstory). After WrestleManiaX8 I will look at the roster and decide who stays, who goes and who arrives.

No Way Out 2002 Results

- Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash start the Pay Per View off with a promo with all 3 men speaking on the faction of the nWo.

Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz vs. Christian & Lance Storm vs. Scotty & Albert vs. Billy & Chuck vs. APA -.Tag Team Turmoil
Winners: APA

- Ric Flair cuts a promo backstage about the nWo. Undertaker approaches him and tells him that he better make sure he knows who has his back.

Rob Van Dam vs. Goldust
Winner: Rob Van Dam

- Stone Cold Steve Austin confronts the nWo backstage and they offer him beer.

Tazz & Spike Dudley (c's) vs. Booker T & Test -.WWF Tag Team Title's
Winners and STILL WWF Tag Team Champion's: Tazz & Spike Dudley

- The Rock cuts a promo backstage concerning his match against The Undertaker tonight.

William Regal (c) vs. Edge -.WWF Intercontinental Title -.Brass Knuckles on a Pole Match
Winner and STILL WWF Intercontinental Champion - William Regal

The Rock vs. Undertaker

Winner: The Rock

Triple H vs. Kurt Angle -.#1 Contender's Match for WrestleMania
Winner and advancing to WrestleMania: Triple H
Even though Stephanie McMahon was the special referee, she was accidentally knocked down in a collision between Angle and Triple H. This allowed Triple H to hit the Pedigree on Angle and a second referee ran down to the ring to count the pinfall.

Chris Jericho (c) vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin -.WWF Undisputed Title
Winner and STILL WWF Undisputed Champion - Chris Jericho
- Show ends with Hogan spraying the nWo logo on Austin.

Over the next four days I will be posting the matches for WrestleMania X8. Each post will include two matches (one being an upper card match and the other being on the undercard). Currently there are 8 matches scheduled, but this may change as time goes by. I leave you today with the WWF Undisputed Championship and the WWF Womens Championship Matches:

WWF Undisputed Championship: The Rock © vs. Triple H

Their Road to WrestleMania........
The Background
Triple H won the 2002 Royal Rumble earning himself the right to face the WWF Undisputed Champion at WrestleMania. However he had a road block going into No Way Out, but Triple H successfully defended his “spot” when he beat Kurt Angle after the special referee Stephanie McMahon was knocked out, allowing an unbiased referee to count the fall for Triple H.

The RAW after No Way Out started with Stephanie McMahon calling out Triple H and trying to “win him back” as she wants to be part of the main event of WrestleMania. However Triple H sees straight through her and he sees that she just wants the attention of being in the main event. Irate that her desperate pleas for attention have not worked she slaps Triple H. Hunter retaliates with a Pedigree!!

Following No Way Out, then WWF Undisputed Champion; Chris Jericho, came down to the ring and gloated about his victory of Austin the previous night. Knowing that Austin was not in the arena, Y2J called him out and offered him a rematch. However Ric Flair (Co-Owner of the WWF) came down to the ring and told Jericho that if he wants to defend his title so badly, then he will tonight, against the man who defeated The Undertaker last night – The Rock!

During the title bout between Rock and Jericho. Mr. McMahon tried to interfere but Flair took down McMahon on the outside of the ring before any interference could happen. The confrontation between the Co-Owners distracted Jericho for a split second, allowing The Rock to hit Jericho with the Rock Bottom and get the fall to become the NEW WWF Undisputed Champion.

The Rivalry
The build up between The Rock and Triple H had several different threads. One of the main focus points began with Triple H saying that even though they are both fan favourites and that he has gained respect for the fans, he reminds Rock that he is still “The Game” and still “The Cerebral Assassin” and that when it comes down to it in the end he is the best in the business.

The second thread to this rivalry comes when it starts to be noted that in, the past three WrestleMania main events, The Rock has failed to win. More importantly it is noted that two of those times he entered the WWF Champion and lost each time. Secondly it is also noted that the time he entered as the challenger he lost to Triple H (the man he is facing at this years main event). The Rock seems to be having doubts and Hunter plays the psychological card very well. This brings out the very intense Rocky we don't see all the time.

Triple H also noted that he cannot afford to lose. He said all the hard work and effort it took to return after the injury he had, followed by the hard work it took to win the Rumble, keep the “spot” at No Way Out and deal with Stephanie McMahon, was too much to lose at WrestleMania. He said that it his time, to once again, be in the MAN in the WWF.

Physicality between the two men has been sparse. Whilst there have been some heated promos between the two, neither Rock or Hunter have had any matches against each other, in fact they have often been teamed up in the weeks leading up to Maina. This has at times brought about intense face to face confrontations.

The last Raw before mania involved a confrontation in the middle of the ring, within which The Rock and Triple H shook hands to what seemed like confirm that there was no personal issues between them two and it was all about being the WWF Undisputed Champion. However later on in the show we see Stephaine McMahon (who hasn't been seen since HHH pedigree'd her 4 weeks ago), walking out of The Rocks locker room.

A few days later at the last SD!, Triple H calls out The Rock to find out what Stephanie McMahon was doing in his locker room. The Rock says he was not in the locker room when she was in there. Triple H is getting furious and disbelieves The Rock. Eventually The Rock has had enough of Triple H's accusations and they begin brawling. Finally Stephanie appears on the top of the rampway, she has a mic and starts to shout out Hunter's name. Triple H stops brawling with The Rock and looks up at Stephanie, but this gives The Rock a moment to catch Triple H off guard lay him out with the Rock Bottom! Stephanie looks pleased and smiles at the Rock whilst clapping, The Rock looks back with what seems to be a puzzled look on his face.

Hardcore Match for the Womens Championship: Jazz © vs. Trish Stratus
Jazz has dominated and at times cheated to hold onto the WWF Womens Championship. However this Sunday at WrestleMania she will have to go one on one with Canada's own Trish Stratus. Also under both combatants agreement a few weeks ago on SD!, this match will be contested under Hardcore rules.

Dream Match: "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin
Their Road to WrestleMania.....

At No Way Out, Hogan, Hall & Nash cost Austin the WWF Undisputed Championship. Over the next week Hogan cut promos on Austin. He called Austin a cheap knock off of himself and that it was Hogan who made wrestling popular in the 80s and then it was Hogan who made wrestling popular once again in the 90s. He says if there was no Hulk Hogan their would be no Steve Austin.

Austins reply was that Hogan is jealous that Austin over took Hogans popularity and that Hogan is a has-been and a poison that needs to leave the WWF. Austin finally challenges Hogan to what Austin called “the match of all ages”. Hogan accepts but Hall and Nash attack Austin from behind leaving him beaten down in the middle of the ring.

Hogan tells everyone that he has Austins number and that he made WrestleMania what it is today. Hogan says that whilst Austin wrestled Bret Hart, Hogan mentions that Bret Hart was barely on the card when Hogan main evented WrestleMania. Hogan mentions that he was in the main events before Austin knew ever laced up a pair of boots.

Austin had grew sick of Hogans rants and cheap mugging from behind and Austin took the liberty to team up with Kane and take out the Outsiders, before then making his way to the ring and attack Hogan. However Hogan kicked Austin in the groin to make a quick escape.

Finally this past RAW, Hogan tried to jump Austin in the midst of his match against Kurt Angle, but Austin fought back and Hogan and Austin started to brawl across the ringside area. The brawl became violent and Austin busted open Hogan. Security and backstage staff eventually broke up the fight.

In the BIGGEST MATCH IN THE HISTORY OF SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT, The 2 pioneers of this industry go one on one, on the grandest stage of them all. WRESTLEMANIA!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Intercontinental Championship: William Regal © vs. Edge vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Booker T
Co-Owners Flair and McMahon put this match together after all three challengers claimed to be the number 1 contender as they have all scored wins against each other in previous matches since No Way Out. With four very talented athletes in one ring, all competing for the same prize, this match has the potential to make a start out of a number of the participants.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Updated with the following two matches:

Control of the WWF: Chris Jericho w/Mr. McMahon vs. Big Show w/Ric Flair
Their road to WrestleMania......

After No Way Out. Mr. McMahon and Ric Flair finally decided to end this Co-Ownership deal by having a match at WrestleMania to determine who would take complete control of the WWF. However both Flair and McMahon agreed to settle the score by choosing their own counterparts for the match. McMahon chose first, by choosing the Chris Jericho.

Jericho, who a week before being chosen by McMahon had just lost the WWF Undisputed title to The Rock, a match which Flair had scheduled at the last minute taking Jericho completely unprepared. Jericho has been a corporate suck up to McMahon leading up to and after being chosen to represent McMahon at mania.

Flair chose the 500lbs Big Show. Who ironically was the person McMahon chose to replace him in the WWF vs Alliance match at Survivor Series to keep the WWF alive. Now that same man can remove McMahon completely from the control of WWF.

This rivalry heated up quick and fast, with Jericho costing Show the hardcore title on one occasion. Jericho and McMahon have played it cowardly and sneakily by attacking both Flair and Big Show at times they didn't expect and then running away before there could be retaliation.

However, it has not been all fun and games for McMahon and Y2J. Flair interrupted the Board of Directors meeting by attacking Vince!!! Show has also attacked Jericho and even Chokeslammed him into the state river on a SD! Leading up to Mania.

The fate of the WWF, rests in this match. At the end, their will be only one owner of the World Wrestling Federation.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Singles Match: Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Perfect
After returning at the Royal Rumble and putting on an excellent performance, Mr. Perfect has become a fan favourite of kinds with the WWF fans. However Kurt Angle has grown an dislike to Perfect. Kurt believes he is the better athlete and the better wrestler. Kurt has made it clear that he thinks that Perfects time has come and gone and that he should step aside for the future. However Perfect says he isn't ready to step aside just yet and that he has a lot more to accomplish in the WWF (primarily to win his first WWF championship). Perfect also told Angle that whilst Angle may come with ways to cheat and win, Perfect says that he was the one who invented them and that he knows everyone Angle knows because Angle learned from him. Kurt and Perfect have tried to continually one up each other in separate matches. Angle defeated Spike Dudley with the PerfectPlex a few weeks ago on SD!, to which Perfect replied by defeating Crash Holly with the Ankle Lock. Angle and Perfect have also cost each other matches as well, which also has been building the tension. What will happen at WrestleMania, when they finally face off, one on one.

2 more matches.....

Tag Team Championship: Outsiders © vs. Brothers of Destruction
Their Road to WrestleMania.....
.
The Outsiders defeated Spike and Tazz for the Tag Team titles a couple of weeks ago on SD! Meanwhile the Undertaker was coming off a defeat from The Rock and seemed to be slightly humbled, before the nWo attacked him. Kane came out to save Taker but Taker was not too happy about it and almost seemed embarrassed that he needed saving. Undertaker continued in his big evil ways whilst Kane started to have troubles with both Hall and Nash. Eventually Hall and Nash isolated Kane in a Steel Cage and started to beat him up with a steel chair. Undertaker finally caem down to the ring and saved Kane.

Following this Undertaker and Kane teamed up and defeated the Dudley Boyz on an episode of Raw. The Brothers of Destruction seem to be back together and as powerful as ever. Nash and Hall challenged the brothers to a match at WrestleMania as they wish to end Undertakers current winning streak. Kane and Taker accepted as long as the tag titles will be on the line.

Looking for vengeance, the revamped Brothers of Destruction put Undertakers winning streak on the line to challenge for The Outsiders WWE Tag Team Championship!

Here is Mania. It is in kind of recap form. Some of the longer matches are written in present tense. Depended on how "into" the matches I wanted you to get. Hope its good and all feedback will be useful and of course returned :)

Opening Segment
The show opens with pyro and Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross welcoming us to the event. We cut to an opening video package detailing the history of WrestleMania and then leading into a preview of tonights matches. We come back from the video package as the ring is full of tag teams. As we get ready for the first match up.

Lance Storm & Christian, APA, Dudleys & Hardys all get their own entrances as the first match begins. Howard Finkle explains that if one member of the tag team is eliminated both members of the team must return to the locker room.

Number one contendership for Tag Team Titles:
APA vs Hardys vs Dudleys vs Albert/Scotty vs Spike/Tazz
vs Venis/Godfather vs Christian/Storm vs Maven/Al Snow
vs Hurriance/Tajiri vs. Billy/Chuck

The match begins as everyone gangs up on Faarooq and Bradshaw eliminating them both within the first few seconds!
Elimination 1: APA @ 0.15

With that elimination, perhaps the favourites have been eliminated. The match settles down as the superstars pair off with each other. Some teams try to stay together but to no avail as Billy Gunn back drops Scotty 2 Hotty out of the ring.
Elimination 2: Scotty/Albert @ 0.58

Tajiri pulls out the TARANTULA on Palumbo! Spike Dudley attacks D-Von but Bubba saves D-Von and eliminates Spike Dudley.
Elimination 3: Spike/Tazz @ 2.01

In the ring everyone is mixing it up and grappling other superstars, as Al Snow turns and clotheslines his Maven out of the ring!
Elimination 4: Maven/Al Snow @ 2.55

Al Snow just eliminated his own partner! WTF! Snow climbs out of the ring and picks up Maven from the floor and hits him with the SNOW PLOW! Snow signals to one of the referees assisting the battle royal. The ref runs over as Snow covers Maven...1...2...3!!!! Al Snow becomes the new Hardcore Champion! Snow grabs the belt and it makes his way through the crowd!

Back to the battle royal and Hurricane has climbed to the top rope as Bubba Dudley is down in the middle of the ring, but Godfather pushes Hurricane off the top rope and onto the ground below to eliminate him.
Elimination 5: Hurricane/Tajiri w/Torrie Wilson@ 3.59

But from behind Godfather comes Storm and Christian who eliminates him.
Elimination 6: Venis/Godfather @ 4.02

We are down to the final four teams. Billy & Chuck, Matt & Jeff Hardy, D-Von & Bubba Ray Dudley and Lance Storm & Christian.

Hardys and Storm/Christian pair off against each other as the other two teams do the same. Lita and Stacy are still on the outside supporting their respective teams. Back and forth action as the Hardys take down Christian. Storm is set up in the corner and the Hardys hit the POETRY IN MOTION.

Dudleys have being beaten down by Billy and Chuck, so B&C attack the Hardys from behind and try to eliminate them, the Hardys fight back and Matt hits Gunn with the Twist of Fate. Jeff climbs to the top rope...... SWANTOM BOMB! Matt is grabbed by Christian from the back....UNPRETTIER. Jeff gets up and gets a SUPERKICK from Storm.Storm turns around and eats 3D!!!!! The Dudleys clothesline Palumbo over the top rope.
Elimination 7: Billy/Chuck @ 6. 14

Matt is down, Storm is still down, Christian and Jeff are using the ropes to pull himself up. Bubba and D-Von are standing in the ring alone. Bubba pushed D-Von........GET THE TABLES!!!!!!!!!
The Dudleys climb to the outside to look for a table under the ring. Bubba finds one and pulls out from underneath the ring and slides it into the ring. Jeff is up and he attacks Bubba before Bubba can set up the table. D-Von attacks Jeff from behind, giving him time set up the table. D-Von whips Jeff into the ropes...3D THROUGH THE TABLE!! its LITA on the top rope.... LITACANRANA ON D-Von DUDLEY TAKING HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE AND ONTO THE FLOOR!!!
Elimination 8: Dudley Boys w/Stacy Keibler @ 7.00

Lita held onto the top rope and she took Bubba over. So Lita stands up on the apron smiling at what she just did, but Bubba grabs her from behind and pulls in into the ring. Bubba pulls her into the ring. POWERBOMB THROUGH THE TABLE!!! Stacy laughs on the outside as Bubba exits the ring to leave Lita in the middle of a broken table.

Matt rolls over to try and help Lita, Jeff tries as well but Christian and Storm attack the Hardys from behind. The Hardys get beaten down as the referees slide in the ring and pull Lita out. Lita is escorted to the back by officials as the referees pull the broken bits of table out of the ring. Hardys never get a chance as Storm and Christian from them over the top rope.
Elimination 9: Hardy Boys w/Lita @ 7.54

Storm and Christian celebrate in the ring as we cut to the backstage. We see both Austin and Triple H arriving earlier today, both looked very serious, as they should with big matches ahead of them later. Back at ringside Kurt Angle comes out to “you suck” chants and then Mr. Perfect comes out to a decen ovation.

Singles Match: Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Perfect
In a very athletic and bout of pure technical wrestling and classic one-up-manship. We saw Angle pull out a wide selection of suplexes to put down Perfect, including 5 conesecutive german suplexes. However Perfect fought back with great counter wrestling and old school heel tactics such as eye pokes and hair pulls. Angle began to lose his temper as he was consistently being out smarted and out wrestled by Perfect. However Angle caught Perfect off guard and delivered a PerfectPlex to the Perfect one himself but only managed to gain a 2 count. Angle then set up Perfect for the AngleSlam but Perfect countered with an AngleSlam of his own. But this time it was Perfect who go the 2 count.

The match carried on back and forth as Angle missed a spectactular Moonsault. Perfect finally nailed the PerfectPlex but Angle somehow kicked out before the three. Perfect seemed at a loss as to what to do next but before he could think of something took Perfect down with the AngleSlam. However Angle was to exhausted to go straight into the pin, it took several moments to get his arm across the chest, but Perfect managed to once again kick out. Angle dropped the straps and went for the Ankle Lock but Perfect rolled through and grabbed the ropes! 1..2..3! the ref didn't see the assist and Perfect steals one @ 22.34 as the crowd cheers and Angle is left in the ring irate as we cut to the backstage.

The WWF Undisputed champion cuts a great promo that starts of with the usual catchphrases but then turns very serious. Rock reminds everyone that he NEEDS and HAS to win this match. Rocky wraps up the promo as we cut back to the ringside. Outsiders come down the ring to huge heat. Kane comes out to a face pop and then Undertaker comes out to a huge ovation!

Tag Team Championship: Outsiders © vs. Brothers of Destruction
In this match the champions singled out Kane near the beginning of the match. This stopped Undertaker from making the tag in the early stages. However Kane fought back and made the tag to Taker. Taker cleaned house and was finally left with Scott Hall who he hit with the LAST RIDE! To win the titles for he and his brother at @ 11.40. After the match Taker smashed Kane in the head with one of the title belts, before leaving with both in his possession.

Mr. McMahon Interview
McMahon is backstage and is interviewed by Michael on the upcoming match for complete Ownership of the WWF. McMahon says that Chris Jericho is the far superior superstar than Big Show and that once he rightfully claims back his company, things will never be the same again.

European Championship: DDP © vs. Big Boss Man
In somewhat of a filler match. DDP dropped Bossman with the Diamond Cutter to retain his title @ 6.19

Big Show & Ric Flair Interview
Flair cuts a great promo on McMahon and Jericho. He blames McMahon for ruining wrestling and turning it into a circus. Flair says that he refused to let McMahon to continue do this and tonight, he finally gets the chance to make “wrestling relevant” Woooooooooooooo!

Back at the ring Jericho comes out with McMahon to huge heat. Show comes out with Flair as the fans cheer.

Control of the WWF: Chris Jericho w/Mr. McMahon vs. Big Show w/Ric Flair
With everything riding on this match. Jericho and Show pulled out all the stops. Jericho hit his classic Triangle Dropkick and even hit Show with the Lionsault but it only got a two count. Jericho attempted but Show in the Walls of Jericho early on but could not turn the Big Show over. Jericho took down the knees of Show to try and keep control of the match but Show kept over powering and getting back in the match. Jericho got caught trying a crossbody and was slammed down to the mat. Show covered but only got a two count. Show raised Jericho up for the CHOKESLAM! But Jericho slid around the back and climbed on the turnbuckles and managed to somehow position Show for the BREAKDOWN! Jericho did the Breakdown off the Second Rope so that he tall enough to hit the move. But when Jericho pinned him Show got his foot on the ropes.

McMahon and Flair watched on in anticipation as Jericho had Show on his back on the canvas. Jericho then stood over Show and pulled Shows legs up until he had him in the WALLS OF JERICHO..... Show got to the ropes. Show fought back and eventually had Jericho around the throat but McMahon tried to get in the ring, Flair then took down McMahon as the referees attention was turned to McMahon and Flair, Jericho kicks Show in the groin, Show drops to his knee, Jericho slides around the back of Show and hits him with the BREAKDOWN again.. The ref turns around and counts the three count at @ 12.42

Triple H Promo Video
We cut to a Video Package from HHH's injury back 2001, all through his surgery and rehab. The video continues to HHH return at Madison Square Garden with HHH talking over it by saying how special that moment was. The video continues to HHH winning the Royal Rumble and other HHH highlights as HHH talks over it; saying how he MUST to win at WrestleMania to complete the final chapter in the road back to the rop.

Edge is out first to a decent ovation. Booker T is next to a decent amount of heat. RVD is next with a very good ovation. Regal comes out last as the fans given him lots of heat.

Intercontinental Championship: William Regal © vs. Edge vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Booker T
This match was the sleeper match of the PPV. It was full of great spots and moments and all four of these men worked together great. RVD hit a DOUBLE ROLLING THUNDER on Regal and Booker T early on in the match. This left RVD and Edge to have a great minute or so exchanging hold in the middle of the ring. Regal got back in the ring and RVD went to the outside.
Edge and Regal now exchanged ground holds in the ring with Regal displaying what excellent grappling holds he can use. On the outside Van Dam was spring boarding off the security rail and onto Booker T. Booker however got the upper hand on Van Dam and sent him head first into the steel ring steps.

Booker got back in the ring and he and Regal doubled teamed Edge and finally threw him out of the ring leaving it down to these two. At one point Booker had Regal down and pulled out a SPINAROONIE! RVD and Edge came back into the match and all four men started to score near falls one each other. RVD ended up on the top rope but Edge tried superplex him, however Booker and Regal lifted up Edge creating TOWER OF DOOM SUPLERPLEX taking all four men down. Regal tried to pin RVD but Booker broke the pin up. The pace slowed down as all four men recovered....

The match progressed as Booker went for the Scissor Kick on Edge but Edge dropped Booker with the EDGE-O-MATIC. Edge was then run down by STIFF KNEE from Regal. Regal then hit the CROSS ARM NECKBREAKER on Edge. Regal went for the pin but Van Dam broke it up. RVD dropped Regal with a flurry of kicks. RVD went to the top rope...FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH!! No TEST out of nowhere pushes RVD off the top rope and onto the outside. Test who is on the apron is shouting at Booker T to try and revive him but EDGE SPEARS TEST OFF THE APRONS... Regal schoolboys Edge 1...2... Regals got the tights...3. Regal steals this match and retains his title @ 19.40.

Rocky looks like he is gaining moment but HHH nails Rocky with a NECKBREAKER. Triple H gets back into the match as he begins to pound down on The Rock. Hunter looks like he is turning into the cerebral assassin as he starts to let the anger out on Rocks skull. The fans erupt in a giant cheer as Triple H lets out a giant roar. He waits for The Rock to get up....PEDIGREE!!!

no, Rock reverses by tackling HHH to the ground....SHARPSHOOTER!!!!!!! Rock rebounds off them as HHH school boys him from behind.1...2..3!!! no Rock kicks out at the very last second.....Both men are spent on the canvas. Triple H gets to his feet and pulls up The Rock for the Pedigree, but Rock breaks free of HHH's grip and goes for a clothesline but HHH ducks and the referee gets knocked over!!!!!

Rock turns around and gets a kick to the gut and a PEDIGREE!!!!!! 1...2...3! but there is no referee. HHH looks around as a new referee runs down to the ring...1...2... Rock kicks out!!!! HHH gets to his feet and pulls Rock up for a second PEDIGREE!!! but Rock slides up and goes for the ROCK BOTTOM!!!!! but HHH stumbles back and squashes the second referee in the corner taking the second referee down as the ref falls out of the ring. Rock then shoots HHH across the ring but HHH reverses and Rock reverses it as both men collide into each other falling onto the canvas.

Both men are down. Both referees are down. Undisputed Championship on the line. WTF! Stephanie McMahon makes her way down to the ring, she walks over to the time keepers bell and picks up the WWF title belt. She walks over to the corner where Rock has pulled himself into. Stephanie climbs onto the apron and gives Rock the title belt as he makes his way to his feet.

HHH is still down on the opposite side of the ring. Rock looks as she throws the belt to him. The Rock catches the belt and glimpses across at HHH and then up at the audience. Rocky knows how much winning this match means to him, Rocky looks back over at Stephanie as he drops the title belt on the floor and goes to grab her around the head but she drops off the apron. Really good show, a number of results surprised which is always good.

Lance Storm/Christian winning the battle royal surprised me, looking forward to seeing what you do with the tag titles.

Perfect vs Angle was a good match and surprised Perfect got the win, assume the feud will continue which is good because they should could easily have a really solid feud.

Undertaker and Kane winning the tag titles didn't surprise me because I didn't see you ending the streak to Hall and Nash, that would have been horrific. Enjoyed Undertaker putting Kane down with the belt and walking off should lead to a good feud between them.

DDP beating Bossman was an ok filler match

Jericho beating Big Show again didn't surprise me because Flair would never have gained full control, although it may have created an interesting direction. Looking forward to seeing what you do with Flair going forward.

Regal winning the four way surprised me as I thought being the hometown boy Edge would have got the win. Liked the fact you had Test get involved, he had a lot of potential and looking forward to seeing if you push him, a feud with RVD could be great.

Rock beating HHH really surprised me because everything pointed to HHH winning the belt. I actually really liked it though, it meant Rock didn't get a transitional reign and probably righted the wrong that was HHH not dropping the belt to Rock at WM 2000. Enjoyed the Steph stuff as well

Jazz beating Trish again surprised me just because Trish was the hometown girl and her winning the title would have been a good moment.

Austin beating Hogan again expected but definitely the right decision. I like the fact that you made the crowd reaction 50/50 as it always would have been. Interested by the ending of the match; Hogan trying to use the brass Knucks and failing and then shaking Austins hand, will be interesting to see what direction you take Hogan in.

Overall then really enjoyed the show, my only criticism would be Austin/Hogan going on last, I'm of an opinion that the world title match should always go on last, especially in this case with it being Rock/HHH. I can sort of understand in real life the argument that because Jericho wasn't a megastar the title match shouldn't have gone on after Hogan/Rock but here you had 2 megastars in the title match so I think it would have been fine.

The Build-up to Backlash

Get the “F” out!
Due to a litigation with the World Wildlife Fund. The WWF is now been renamed the World Wrestling Entertainment.

WWE Draft
2 Weeks after WrestleMania. Mr. McMahon explained how he had to take time to focus on the business area of the WWE and to give opportunity to increasingly large roster, he had decided to create to separate brands. On the SD! before Backlash, Mr. McMahon announced the first General Manager of SD! is Mick Foley. McMahon also announced that at Backlash the RAW General Manager will be revealed.

WWE Undisputed Championship: The Rock © vs. Triple H vs. Steve Austin
This match came about after Steve Austin defeated Chris Jericho to become the number one contender the week after Mania. HHH who was irate due to the fact that Stephanie McMahon interfered in their match at WrestleMania. Even The Rock told Triple He he deserves a rematch. However the recently acquainted 100% owner of the WWF, Mr. McMahon said that Triple H has no rematch clause and that it is tough shit for Triple H.

Hunter retaliated by saying that it was McMahons bitch of a daughter who cost him the title. McMahon says that in the interest of fairness, Triple H must defeat the Outsiders in a handicap. HHH finally did it with help from Hulk Hogan. This set up the triple threat match with perhaps the three biggest stars in the WWF from the last few years. However HHH still had an issue with Stephanie McMahon consistent interfering and appearances. To combat this Mr. McMahon decided that Stephanie will be banned from the arena at Backlash however if Triple H looses he can never get a shot at the WWE Undisputed Championship.

Now the stipulation is set. Over the past few weeks the situation has got very volatile. The Rock is trying to prove he is the best. Austin is trying to regain his position on top of the mountain and Triple H has no choice but to win. All three men finally bring out their very aggressive side that they all have. Multiple brawls have broken out and on a number of occasions when they have been teamed up, the tag teams matches have deteriorated into brawls yet again. All three men will clash at Backlash!

Singles Match: Kane vs. Undertaker
After attacking Kane after their win at Mania and then completely beating him down on the Monday Night afterwards causing the Outsiders to regain the tag team titles, Undertaker finally started to explain his actions. Undertaker explained that he is sick and tired of carrying Kane in the WWE. Taker states that he always has to look after his younger brother. Taker says that Kane supposes to be this “BIG RED MONSTER” but in reality he is a coward and wimp who hides behind his older brother. Kane has responded attacking Undertaker and both men have had plenty of brawls throughout areans leading up to Backlash. What will happen this Sunday when these two men meet one on one.

Tag Team Championship: The Outsiders © vs. Hogan & Big Show
The night after WrestleMania, The Outsiders got their rematch against Kane and Undertaker. However just before their match Undertaker beat-down his younger brother Kane, leaving Kane to try and defend himself against both Hall and Nash. Kane tried his best but was defeated and The Outsiders regained their tag team titles.

Hall and Nash then turned on their former friend Hulk Hogan (who had recently removed the nWo black and white and turned back to the red and yellow). Hogan would fight back but over the weeks the beat-downs go to match and eventually Big Show came out to save one of his best friends! From their it was announced that Hogan and Show would challenge for the Tag Team Titles at Backlash!

Singles Match: Edge vs. Test w/Booker T
Edge has had his problems with both Booker T but now he has his sights on Test. This started to heat up at WrestleMania when Test interfered in the IC title match distracting Edge from winning. Test and Booker T have scored a few cheap wins over Edge in tag team matches over the past few matches. But at Backlash Edge gets his hands on Test, hopefully one on one.

Tag Team Match: Chris Jericho & Kurt Angle vs. Ric Flair & Mr. Perfect
Mr. McMahons lacky; Chris Jericho has recently been challenged and attacked by former owner Ric Flair. Secondly Angle was mad after loosing to Mr. Perfect at Mania. Flair and Perfect are close friends and will team up to face the newly created friendship between to of McMahons suck-ups – Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle. Four fantastic athletes with lots of pride, collide in this tag team match.

Intercontinental Championship: William Regal © vs. Rob Van Dam
After coming close to winning the IC title at WrestleMania, RVD gets his one on one match for the gold at Backlash. Van Dam defeated Edge and Booker T in a number one contenders match. RVD also pinned Regal 2 weeks ago on SD! But Regal attacked RVD backstage last week on Raw and sent him straight through a window! This match will be explosive at Backlash.

Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match: APA vs. Hardys w/Lita vs. Dudleys w/Stacy vs. Christian & Storm
All four teams have a history with each other. Their rivalry continues as we head into Backlash.

Hardcore Championship: Kama Mustafa © vs. Rikishi
On the Raw after WrestleMania Rikishi defeated Al Snow to becomed the WWE Hardcore Championship. The next week later on SD! The Godfather returned as Kama Mustafa. A Bad Ass no nonsense legitimate athlete. Kama went on a winning streak defeating the likes of Tazz, Spike Dudley, and Matt Hardy. He then eventually defeated Rikishi for the Hardcore title last week. This is Rikishi's return match.

European Championship: Diamond Dallas Page © vs Goldust
DDP has been on a roll since he won the European title a few months ago. Goldust gets his chance at the gold at Backlash.

The Rocks music plays as The Rock brings himself to his feet. We cut to Triple H looking pissed off and angry on the outside, as he was so close to winning. Then we cut back to the ring where we see Rock being handed his title.

There is a cut to Austin motionless on the canvas, then to HHH walking off frustrated, then finally to The Rock on the turnbuckles lifting the WWE Undisputed title high in the air as the show closes.

First time reader, this time period was great. So many stars, roster was stacked. The graphics look great. What I’d like to see here are Raw and Smackdown shows posted and also more write ups for matches instead of recaps. Also I'd like to see the cruiserweight belt being defended on ppvs. If you can do that then that would be great. :)

I’m wondering if you’re gonna bring Brock Lesnar in since he already made his debut during this time period. Same goes for Eddie Guerrero as he returned. Will look forward to that if you bring them in.

Backlash Review

DDP vs Goldust sounds like a good match for the European title. DDP was very misused in the WWE so I hope you use him well.

I like how you have Kama back instead of The Godfather, Kama would be a great addition to the hardcore division. Kama vs Rikishi was a good match but not really the ideal choice of an opener. I'm surprised that he got the win over Rikishi.

4 Way tag was good and you made the right choice in having Storm and Christian retain the titles. I wonder when they will get their tag title shot especially that they became the #1 contenders at WrestleMania.

RVD becoming IC Champ is a good choice, I liked his match with Regal, I wonder if the feud continues on. Looking forward to seeing what you do with RVD as IC champion.

Jericho and Angle vs Flair and Perfect sounds like a great match and you have done a good job in making Perfect look important here during this time period. Good choice in having the younger guys go over here.

Good call to have Edge go over Test, he had the odds stacked against him as Booker tried getting involved but Edge still won.

Outsiders vs Hogan and Show sounds like a fun match and to see Hogan winning the belts with Hogan sounds interesting.

I liked Taker as a heel but surprised that his match with Kane ran very long. Still a good match and a good decision to have Taker win.

Michaels and Foley as GM, that rules. That indeed sounds like fun but I wonder if one of them will go heel. I’d prefer one face GM and one heel GM.

I always wanted to see a triple threat match between Rock, Austin and HHH on ppv. The match itself was very good and the MOTN. Back and forth action and I’m glad you had Rock retain the title. HHH almost pulled out the win but Rock takes it at the end.

Overall the card was strong and you put out a strong show. Keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to the draft and the next ppv.

To answer a few questions before I Post RAW -

I’m wondering if you’re gonna bring Brock Lesnar in since he already made his debut during this time period. Same goes for Eddie Guerrero as he returned. Will look forward to that if you bring them in.
Lesnar is in OVW at the moment, I will get round to posting the roster for OVW in the near future. Eddie will be back soon. Benoit however had a career ending injury

HBK being unveiled as the new GM of RAW surprised me and I'm looking forward to seeing his interactions with Foley as they could be cold. Hoping HBK goes tweener at some point though as I think the GM dynamic works best when there is one heel and one face like Bischoff and Steph.
Heel vs. Face is something both of you have mentioned. There are plans in place, stay tuned ;)

Few thoughts on the draft;
Hope HHH ends up on RAW with his old buddy HBK; could create some great moments
Would like to see Austin go to Smackdown allowing someone else to be the focal point of RAW
Looking forward to seeing how you split the titles and if you split up any teams

Great Show, quick question; will you be writing up the draft show or just posting who went where?
At least the next 5 Raw and SD! will be posted as shows, leading up to Judgment Day, so the show below will explain titles, team-splits and draft picks.

Monday Night Raw
22 April 2002

JR and Jerry Lawler open up the show and say that tonight both Raw and SD! Will have 10 drafts picks each, with SD! Getting first pick due to winning a coin toss. The remaining picks will be determined randomly by a lottery on Tuesday on WWE.COM. Finally they mention that tonight The Rock will be able to choose which brand he defends his title on first.

Opening Segment
Mr McMahon opens the show up. He brings out Mick Foley and Shawn Michaels, the two GMs, to the middle of the ring. Smackdown wins the coin toss and gets the first draft pick. Foley picks Austin (although Austin is yet to arrive at the arena). Michaels then chooses his first draft pick – Triple H! The fans pop as Triple H comes from the back. Michaels meets him on the entrance as the best friends re-unite as the show goes to a commercial.

Match 1: Trish Stratus & Lita vs. Jazz & Ivory
Trish hit Ivory with the Stratusfaction. Lita & Trish stand tall in the ring as Jazz looks on as she walks back up the ramp with her Womens Title.

Draft Segment 1
Stands have been set up on the west and east side of the entrance ramp, one labelled Raw, the other Smackdown. Foley and and Michaels are standing there to make their next draft picks. Foley chooses a man he has had lots of history with; The Undertaker. Michaels then chooses someone he has lots of history with Kevin Nash. Foley then says his third draft pick will be Scott Hall! Michaels looks pissed off as Foley walks to the back leaving Michaels high and dry, as obviously HBK wanted his old friend Scott Hall for a number of reason, including the fact he just chose Halls tag team partner, Kevin Nash.

Match 2: Undertaker vs. Val Venis
Undertaker and Val Venis are in the ring. However Kane comes out and attacks Undertaker before the match really begins. Undertaker manages to escape and actually runs away from Kane. This leaves Kane in the middle of the ring. HBK comes back out and announces Kane is his third draft pick. Kanes pyro goes off as we cut to commercial again.

Match 3: Rob Van Dam & DDP vs. Christian & Lance Storm
Its a fast paced match and RVD hits Christian with the Five Star Frog Splash to pick up the win at 7.01. After the match Foley comes out and chooses RVD, HBK immediately responds by choosing DDP.

Match 4: Big Show vs. William Regal
Hogan goes on commentary whilst Big Show defeats William Regal with a Showstopper at 8.10.

Next Draft Segment
After the commercial, Foley chooses Edge. HBK chooses Angle. Foley chooses Ric Flair. HBK choses Chris Jericho. The camera kept cutting to the back where all the wrestlers were watching on. Jericho and Angle looked very pleased they were on the same show.

Austin Promo
Austin has arrived and makes his way down to the ring. Austin talks about how much he has loved pioneering Raw, but now he is going to Smackdown and will raise even more hell over there and he hopes that Foley can handle it. Scott Hall interrupts Austin. Hall stays at the entrance ramp and rips into Austin, saying that he has had long enough to become Undisputed Champion, and that it is now his time to become Champion. Stone Cold offers to whip Halls ass right now, but Hall walks off.

Another Draft Segment
Next two drafts picks are revealed. Foley chooses Booker T. HBK then chooses Mr. Perfect. It is announced these two will compete next.

Match 5: Booker T vs. Mr. Perfect
The match is strong grappling bout and Booker gets the win via Scissor Kick at 7.10.

Match 6: Matt Hardy w/Lita vs. Hurricane w/Mighty Molly
This match is for the number one contender for the Cruiserweight title. Hardy hits Hurricane with the twist of fate to win at 5.20

Draft Picks and Hardcore Fun!
Foley comes out and choose Cruiserweight champ Tajiri. HBK then chooses Hardcore champ Kama. The camera cuts to both of these in the locker room, but Kama is attacked from behind by Bubba Ray. Bubba and Kama fight onto the entrance ramp where Bubba hits Kama with the smackdown “stand”. Bubba has his own referee and pins Kama to win the Hardcore title!

So impressed Foley then chooses Bubba has his ninth draft pick. Outraged Michaels chooses D-Von! Foley then chooses his last daft pick the number one contender for the cruiserweight title – Matt Hardy. HBK then chooses Jeff Hardy! The camera cuts to the locker room where Jeff and Matt look at each other, acknowledging the parting of ways.

The Rock Chooses a Side
We come back from the commercial. Foley and Michaels are in the ring, The Rocks music hits and outcomes The Rock. JR and The King explain that The Rock will get to choose which brand he defends his title. After lots of back and forth between all three, Rock nails Foley with a ROCK BOTTOM! And announces he will defend against Raw.......Rock ignores the handshake attempt made my Michaels and then walks back up the ramp as the show goes off the air.

Backlash review

DDP going over Goldust for the European makes sense, looking forward to seeing if that's it for the feud or if it will continue.

Kama Mustafa over Rikishi again makes a lot of sense as he is a new character, like the sound of him hopefully he dominates going forward, really good idea to have him feud with Rikishi to start with as it is a great way to establish him.

Storm and Christian winning the fatal fourway is a good idea as it helps establish them as a top team, a feud with the new tag champs could work really well.

RVD beating Regal for the title is a really good move, RVD was over as hell in 2002, hopefully these two continue feuding as I've always thought they worked really well together.

Angle/Jericho going over Perfect/Flair surprised me simply because I thought the vets would win here then the young guys would win the one on one matches next month, interesting result though hoping you keep Perfect around for a while because the guy was seriously awesome.

Edge beating Test was again a good move, Edge was also very over in 2002, hope you give him a solid upper card push

Hogan/Show winning the belts surprised me as I thought given the fact that the Outsiders had just won the belts this would be stretched out until next month. Saying that Hogan was on such a roll after coming back that the reaction when they won would have probably been the biggest pop of the night.

Undertaker beating Kane was a good move, looking forward to the feud continuing

HBK being unveiled as the new GM of RAW surprised me and I'm looking forward to seeing his interactions with Foley as they could be cold. Hoping HBK goes tweener at some point though as I think the GM dynamic works best when there is one heel and one face like Bischoff and Steph.

Rock retaining the title really surprised me given the stipulation for HHH, GREAT move though sets up so many possibilities going forward with HHH, also like the fact Rock hasn't seemingly been given a short transitional reign like all the reigns he had. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the title, HHH and Austin moving forward.

Few thoughts on the draft;

#23 ·
Good show, I really enjoyed the back and forth with the GMs trying to one up the other. Foley choosing Hall after HBK chose Nash was a good first swerve and then splitting up the Hardys and Dudleys was a good idea as both needed at this point some time as singles wrestlers. Looking forward to seeing how you plug the gap in the tag team division.

Triple H and Austin being draft picks 1 and 2 makes a lot of sense and have to say currently Smackdown looks like it got the best of the draft, looking forward to seeing who else goes where.

Hoping you finish off the Kane/Undertaker feud given they are different shows now.

Looking forward to seeing how you eventually debut Lesnar and how you bring Eddie back.

Quick question; are all the PPVs going forward going to be brand exclusive or just have everyone on?

#25 ·
Actually debut Lesnar and how you bring Eddie back.

Quick question; are all the PPVs going forward going to be brand exclusive or just have everyone on?
The aim is to eventually have a full brand extension with seperate PPVs. However the roster is very top heavy at the moment (with a lack of mid/undercard), so the plan for the next few months is to have dual brand PPVs, as the rosters grow.

#24 ·
it was a nice card man i just got caught up on everything

Opening segement was good having austin and trips the first two picks makes total sense as they were prob the two biggest draws at the time.

i hope you finish the kane and taker feud as well even so they can finally move on from eachother, breaking up the hardys, dudleys, and the outsiders was risky move imo they are top name teams im looking forward to see what you do with the tag division

Smackdown looks a little better then raw, just of the fact they have more talent on the show, im glad rock stayed on raw having him and austin on the same show would just be too much for smackdown to handle

Also i'm a huge Brock Lesnar fan so im hoping for a great debut:) haha good BTB man

SmackDown!
24 April 2002

Opening Segment
Foley comes down to the ring and announces four huge matches for tonight. The first is that Undertaker and Kane will settle their differences tonight inside a No DQ match. Secondly Raws European Champion and SD!s IC Champion will face off against each other, thats DDP vs. RVD.
Thirdly for the final time ever due to the brand split, The Hardys will face the Dudleys. And Finally tonight's huge main event is Raws Triple H teaming up with SD!s Steve Austin to face the Outsiders!

Match 1: Edge vs. Lance Storm w/Christian
This match is good as you would expect between these two, Christian never gets chance to interfere and Edge picks up the win with a Spear at 6.20

Match 2: Diamond Dallas Page (Euro) vs. Rob Van Dam (IC)
This match is PPV standard as both men pull out a great moves from the arsenal. Van Dam misses the FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH, which allows DDP hit him with the DIAMOND CUTTER to pick up the win at 14.10. Both men shake hands at the end of this match.

Ric Flair Promo
Flair is interviewed in the back about being a part of the SD! Brand. Flair says that even though the year is 2002, he is alive and kicking and that he has the fan support, so he will be the number star on the SD! Roster. Wooooooooooooooo!

Match 3: Hardys wLita vs. Dudleys w/Stacy
Again another PPV quality match and match of the night so far. Dudleys hit the “Wazzaaaa” and “Dudley Device”. Hardys hit the “Poetry in Motion” “Leg Drop/Splash Combo”. A Table is set up on the outside of the ring and D-Von is pushed off the top rope and through the table! Hardys hit then the TWIST OF FATE AND SWANTOM BOMB on Bubba to get the win at 13.51. After the match all four men are in the ring and shake hands and hug, signifying the end of a great tag team era.

Commericals
We see a commercial for Judgment Day
Live Events in May
and for RAW the first show to implement the draft

Match 4: No DQ: Undertaker vs. Kane
This match is brutal and gets very physical very fast. After a lots of brawling around the ringside; Kane chokeslams Undertaker onto steel chair for the win at 7.21.

Shawn Michaels & Raw Segment
HBK makes his way down to the ramp. He mentions that although Triple H lost at Backlash is no longer allowed to challenge for the WWE Undisputed Title, what Stephanie McMahon did not realise is that the Draft had made all old contracts null and void and everyone superstar now has new “brand only” contracts. Therefore HBK put it in to HHH's new contract that he can once again challenge for the WWE Undisputed Title. So next week on Raw, Triple H will face Kevin Nash and the winner will face The Rock in 2 weeks time on Monday Night Raw.

Match 5: Mixed Tag Match: Hurricane & Mighty Molly vs. Tajiri & Torrie Wilson
The guys fight the guys and the girls fight the girls in this match. Torrie beat Molly with a provocative cover, to the fans liking, at 4.20, however Tajiri grabbed Torrie and covered her up after the match and told her never to do pin someone like that again. Hurricane tries to help Molly up by she argues with him in the middle of the ring. Molly slaps Hurricane and walks off.

Match 6: Chris Jericho w/Kurt Angle vs. Big Show w/Hulk Hogan
Thus match had mostly Jericho cheating to gain the upper advantage, however Angle tried to interrupt near the end of the match and this allowed Hogan to take down Angle. Jericho got distracted by all this and Show hit him the CHOKESLAM to pick up the win at 6.20

Draft Lottery Segment
Through out the the show we Cole and Lawler explained to us that Lance Storm and Christian will be on SD! And that Mighty Molly, Lita are moving to Raw. Spike Dudley was injured before the draft so was not put in the lottery. But now we get a full list of the draft lottery showing the official lists of those drafted. See spoiler below for list.

Rock Appearance
The Rock comes down to the ring and takes up position at the announce table, for commentary on the next match.

Main Event: Triple H & Steve Austin vs. The Outsiders (Kevin Nash & Scott Hall)
This match was the match of the night, just tipping the Dudleys/Hardys match from earlier, as the star power in this match was a lot higher. The ending came when Hall and Austin brawled to the back leaving Nash and HHH in the ring. Nash hit HHH with a low blow behind the referees back and then hit the JACKKNIFE POWERBOMB to get the win at 13.10. Nash stands tall as Rock climbs onto the announce table and stares at Nash as the show comes to a close.

Great Show

Edge beating Storm was good and hopefully he will get a good sustained push moving forward

DDP v RVD was a great idea as a champ vs champ match on the last show before Brand Extension, DDP going over surprised me but I'm happy as he was someone who should have gotten a more sustained push during his run

Again Hardys v Dudleys was a great idea and sounds like a good match and the perfect way to end their runs as teams for now

Happy you finished the Kane/Undertaker feud and that Kane went over, he is someone who should have a good sustained push

Wasn't thrilled about it being announced HHH can now compete again for the Undisputed title, just think it was a little rushed as he only lost the right to challenge for the belt again less than a week ago.

Mixed tag sounds good; both combinations had great chemistry

A Jericho/Angle v Show/Hogan feud should be really good, hoping you bring out the comedic sides of Jericho and Angle as they could do some great segments against Show/Hogan

Main Event was really good, Austin and Hall should be a solid feud and I like the idea of Nash v Rock for the title to stretch out the time until the Rock v HHH one on one rematch

Monday Night Raw
22 April 2002

Opening Segment
We kick off MNR with the famous “If ya smelllll....what The Rock is coookin....”. The WWE Undisputed Champion makes his way down to the ring. Rock opens the show with an exciting promo and says that he is looking forward to tonights number one contendership match between Triple H & Kevin Nash. Rock finishes by saying that it doesn't matter who wins tonight because he is the peoples champion and the Undisputed Champion. If ya smelllllllllow, what The Rock, is coooking.........

Match 1: Scotty 2 Hotty & Albert vs. Billy & Chuck
Both these teams have been struggling for TV time in the past months but the brand extension has given them a chance. This match involved Billy & Chuck working as a team to work over Scotty and not let Albert in the match. The strategy worked but eventually S&A got the upper hand and started to make a comeback, but eventually Gunn hit the Fameasser on Scotty for the win at 6.21

Shawn Michaels Promo
Backstage we cut to the “sheriffs office”. HBK welcomes us to his General Manager office which is all country style. HBK has his sheriff hat and cowboy boots on. He welcomes us to the most exciting brand of the WWE and reminds everyone that tonight Triple H will face Kevin Nash for the number one contendership of the Undisputed title. Michaels also announces that up next we will see two of the top divas in action with Trish Stratus taking on Lita.

Match 2: Trish Stratus vs. Lita
The women shakes hands to begin the match. The two divas try and keep this as technical as they both can and as the match progresses Trish and Lita clothesline each other, putting both women on the canvas. From the back Mighty Molly runs down to the ringside area. She climbs in the ring and lifts up Lita and drops her with a DDT. The fans boo as Molly the lifts up Trish and throws her out of the ring. The referee rings for the bell, signalling a no-contest at 3.32.

Might Molly Promo
Molly picks gets a mic and starts to speak. She says that last week she ditched her stupid boyfriend Shane Helms, who thinks he is a superhero. She states that she has “seen the light” and has gone back to dressing in “real” clothes. She then says that she is no longer going to be called Mighty Molly, she is to be called just “Molly” from here on forward.

Triple H Segment
We see Triple H arrive in the parking lot, he is carrying his bags with him and he looks determined for tonight.

Match 3: Test vs. Mr. Perfect
Both men are thought of as very good workers and they squared up in this match. Perfect plays his cocky and clever self and is really connecting with the audience. Test is very aggressive in this match and the fans are giving him lots of heat. Near the end of the match Test goes for a big flying elbow drop, but Perfect moves out of the way and drills Test with the Perfect Plex to get the win at 6.25

Chris Jericho & Kurt Angle Interview
Backstage Jonathan Coachman tries to interview Jericho and Angle but is totally ignored and pushed out of the interview area by Jericho. Kurt and Chris claim to be the best in-ring performers and Big Show and Hogan are has-beens who need to step a side for the future of the business.

Match 4: Jericho, Angle & William Regal vs. Hogan, Show & DDP
This match starts with DDP and Jericho. The European champion starts to get worked over by Jericho as Regal tags in to take apart the worked over DDP. Regal makes a tag back to Jericho who continues the punishment. As the match progresses DDP manages to get a tag to Big Show and the match begins to flow with constant tags between all three members of each time. Hogan eventually gets a Red Hot Tag, the fans go wild as he comes in and takes down Kurt Angle, (the legal man). Jericho and Regal are soon in the ring to try and stop Hogan, but DDP and Show come in and help to save the day. There is chaos and confusion as the stars battle in and out of the ring, eventually Angle sneaks up behind Hogan and delivers a Angle Slam. Angle pins and gets the win for his team at 13.53

Kevin Nash Segment
In the back we see Kevin Nash taping his wrists as Jonathan Coachman tries to get a word with him. Nash says that last week on SD! he pinned Triple H in the middle of the ring and tonight will be no different. Nash says that his engine is running on full power and he won't stop until he is WWE Undisputed Champion.

Goldust Promo
Backstage we see Goldust stalking the divas with a video camera as they are getting changed in the locker room. Goldust is acting very strange and he isn't doing this a kind of joke, he is very serious.

Match 5: Kama Mustafa vs. Kane
Kane gets a great response from the crowd, however in the match it was Kama who dominated and used his power to ground Kane. This meant that Kane had to use his speed and agility to fight back. The crowd enjoyed seeing Kane vary his move-set up. Kane hit a dropkick and a clothesline from the top rope. Kane was on a roll when from out of nowhere D-Von came down to ringside and tripped Kanes foot, behind the referees back. This distracted Kane long enough for Kama to hit him with the Death Valley Driver for the win at 5.42.

After the match, D-Von and Kama continue the assault but then Jeff Hardy comes running down the ring with a steel chair. D-Von and Kama then flee the ring and make their way up the ramp. Kane sits up in the ring and gets back to his feet irate.

Shawn Michaels & Jericho/Angle Segment
Jericho/Angle enter the “sheriffs ofifce” and gloat about their win of the tag champs earlier in the six man tag match. They say they deserve a shot at the Tag Team Championship next week. Michaels reminds them that last week on SD! Big Show defeated Chris Jericho and although they did win tonight that is not enough. Michaels says that next week Chris Jericho will face Big Show in a rematch and if he wins that he will reconsider giving them a tag team title match.

Main Event for the Number One Contendership: Triple H vs. Kevin Nash
Nash and Hall start the match quickly with a flurry of punches being thrown back and forth between the two. The match quickly goes to the outside where Nash gains the upper hand. As the match progresses, HHH fights back into it and starts to work over Nash's left leg. Nash again fights back into the match, making it a very even contest. Nash delivers his patented elbows in the corner and then a Big Boot. But Nash is unable score the three count.

Triple H gets back in the match and drills Nash with a huge Spinebuster. HHH goes for the Pedigree but Nash counters and tries the Jackknife Powerbomb, however HHH counters with a huge Back-Body Drop. HHH then goes for the Pedigree and hits it. HHH covers and gets the three at 15.12 in an highly competitive match.

“Time to Play the Game” plays for a brief second before “If ya smelllll...” once again echoes through the arena. The Rock makes his onto the top of the stage. Triple H looks up the stage at The Rock who is pacing up and down. HHH signals that the belt will be his, Rock stops pacing and lifts the championship belt high in the air as the show goes off the air
