Re: It Begins: WWE 2012
“Satellite” starts to play around the arena as WWE Shakedown comes to air with a pyro going off around the stage to get the show rolling.
Josh Matthews: Welcome to WWE Shakedown, my name is Josh Matthews and alongside me is Matt Striker and what another great instalment of WWE Shakedown you will witness here tonight.
Matt Striker: That’s right Josh, tonight once again we get to see some of the biggest up and coming Superstars in the WWE talent pool get their chance to step up and compete for us here tonight.
Josh Matthews: We will see in action tonight the team of Antonio Cesaro and Dean Ambrose facing off against Derrick Bateman and Trent Baretta.
Matt Striker: These two young teams will be looking for a win in order to get closer to the Tag Team Titles and a win here tonight will see them do that. But we will also see the lovely divas in action with Kaitlyn and Alicia Fox going one on one in a big match in the Diva’s rankings for both competitors.
Josh Matthews: Our big main event tonight as always will be voted by the fans. The three featured matchups for this week will be either Seth Rollins facing Jinder Mahal or we could see former NXT Rookies David Otunga and Johnny Curtis face off with one another or the final option of Xavier Woods and Hunico competing in action.
Matt Striker: All that to come later on tonight. But let’s kick things off with Santino Marella in action against Michael McGillicutty.
“Say It To My Face” begins to play around the arena as Alex Riley accompanies Michael McGillicutty down to the ring.
“La Vittoria è Mia” comes on following this as he makes his way down the ramp and into the ring.

Alex Riley quickly puts McGillicutty’s foot on the bottom rope before the referee gets the three and he notices it. Santino looks stunned. Riley pulls McGillicutty out of the ring before Santino can land a running elbow. Riley starts pumping McGillicutty up and tells him to get back in the ring and Riley gets on the apron. The referee starts to tell Riley to get off the apron but the distraction allows McGillicutty to hit a low blow kick which he follows up with the McGillicutter for the pin and the win.
Winner: Michael McGillicutty.
Josh Matthews: And Michael McGillicutty steals one right there.
Matt Striker: Santino had it all wrapped up if it wasn’t for the intervention by Alex Riley here at ringside.
Josh Matthews: McGillicutty took advantage of the distraction and gets the win.
Matt Striker: He did what it takes to win the match and with that being anything I can’t say I blame him.
Josh Matthews: Well certainly Santino doesn’t look happy after that result and nor should he.
Matt Striker: Of course he shouldn’t be happy he just lost and in the WWE you can’t afford to lose or someone will move ahead of you.
Josh Matthews: Let’s go to commercial where following the break Scott Stanford has two special guests.
As we return from the break we are backstage to see Scott Stanford standing alongside Cesaro and Ambrose.
Scott Stanford: I’m here with the hottest new tag team in the WWE, Antonio Cesaro and Dean Ambrose.
Antonio Cesaro: I’m going to stop you right there before you start to get things wrong. WWE Universe, you are looking at what will be the greatest tag team the world has ever seen. We will beat everybody.
Dean Ambrose: Everybody.
Antonio Cesaro: Everybody that comes in our way we will beat them.
Dean Ambrose: This reign of terror will start tonight. But it’s not just about us getting wins, o no. You see we take bum tag teams, we crumple them up and through them to the side. This year will be a glorious year for the two of us, we can go to Russia and defeat Russians.
Antonio Cesaro: We could go to China and defeat Chinese.
Dean Ambrose: We could go to South America and defeated Brazilians.
Antonio Cesaro: We could go to Egypt and beat Egyptians.
Dean Ambrose: We could even go to Australia and defeat Australians.
Antonio Cesaro: No worries with that.
Dean Ambrose: And seeing as though we are here in America we will defeat Americans.
Antonio Cesaro: Hell we could go to outer space to defeat Martians if we wanted.
Dean Ambrose: It doesn’t matter where we go and who face no matter where in the world we will win.
Antonio Cesaro: And let us make this loud and clear, we are the best there is the world has to offer so in a matter of time we will be the WWE Tag Team Champions and no doubt tonight we will prove that with a win over Bateman and Baretta.
Dean Ambrose: These two nobodies won’t know what hits them once we’re done with them, so I hope you’re prepared for what will the best thing you will see until next week when we win again.
Ambrose and Cesaro walk off leaving Scott Stanford standing there with a confused look on his face.
As we come back to the ring “Pa-Pa-Pa-Pa-Party” is playing through the arena as Alicia Fox makes her way to the ring.

Upon return we see Seth Rollins backstage with mic in hand alone.
Seth Rollins: I came here to the WWE to prove a point that guys like me who toil away in place like Japan and the rest of the World has what it takes to become a WWE Champion someday. We have seen the likes of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan do that and Seth Rollins will be the next big superstar to come through that same path. Ever since being placed on Smackdown it has given me a chance to look at who I am going up against. I have been and see Stephanie McMahon to see what she can do for me in order to step up and achieve this goal of mine. She told me that if I get the chance to beat Jinder Mahal tonight and can win a special match next week and qualify for the Rumble she will consider putting me into some big matches on Smackdown. So for me tonight and next week are the two biggest matches of my life. So I beg of you to vote for me in tonight and next week’s main events and getting the opportunity that I deserve.
Rollins walks off with an intense look on his face as he gets called into the green room before he finds out whether he is competing in the main event.
Josh Matthews: Yes next week on Shakedown the match that Seth Rollins is talking about will be a very special match. It will be a ten man over the top rope battle royal to determine who gets the final spot in the Royal Rumble that will be available.
Matt Striker: That’s right Josh I have just received the list of Superstars that will be eligible to be voted for to compete in the match. You will be able to choose 5 RAW and 5 Smackdown Superstars from the 20 available. So representing RAW can be any of these ten; Alex Riley, Curt Hawkins, David Otunga, Johnny Curtis, Mason Ryan, Michael McGillicutty, Percy Watson, Santino Marella, Titus O’Neil and Tyler Reks.

“Gasoline Upcharge” begins to play as Trent Baretta and Derrick Bateman make their way to the ring.

Mahal and Rollins stand up and face each other nose to nose before things start to get a little heated backstage when Mahal starts speaking in Swami. Rollins pushes Mahal off of him and the other Superstars react quickly enough and separate them before it gets out of control.

Michael Cole: So every second is important but the win must come first because you will never know what will happen later in the night.
Josh Matthews: Well let’s kick the action off tonight with our first Beat the Clock Challenge Match with the World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry getting the chance to set the standard facing off with Ezekiel Jackson.

Michael Cole: Mark Henry sets the pace here early in the night with a time of 12:26. He will be the man to face Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble if no one can beat his time later in the night.
Josh Matthews: I think one of the four men will be able to do that. To me it seems like a rather slow time.
Michael Cole: You never know Josh, Henry has the time in the bank and its up to the others to beat him.
Josh Matthews: Let’s go backstage quickly where Daniel Bryan is standing by with Matt Striker.
We go backstage to see Daniel Bryan and Matt Striker standing together.
Matt Striker: Now Daniel, you will finally learn who you will face at the Royal Rumble tonight following this series of beat the clock matches. Mark Henry has set the bar do you think he will be quick enough to face you.
Daniel Bryan: Matt that time by Henry will probably not be the quickest of the night but I would much rather be in his position than any of the other four guys chasing the time that’s for sure.
Matt Striker: Why do you say that?
Daniel Bryan: In the WWE you never know what will happen in a match someone might blow their knee out, might get caught with a lucky punch and be KO’d or be beaten by someone who wasn’t expected too.
Matt Striker: I get your point. So who do you think will win this challenge then?
Daniel Bryan: Well I think Batista or Sheamus could lose. Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett will not be easy to beat especially in that sort of time. Drew McIntyre will give Christian a run for his money considering he has been on such a long absence from the ring. For me the Big Show has the size advantage over Heath Slater but with Tyson Kidd at ringside it might be harder than people expect.
Matt Striker: I see where you’re going with this you don’t want to cause tensions but come on champ give me your thought on who you will face at the Rumble?
Daniel Bryan: You wanna know who I think I’ll face. Well I couldn’t care less because it doesn’t matter who it ends up being because in the end everyone taps out.

Winner: Big Show 9:10
Michael Cole: The Big Show has gone to the top with a time of 9 minutes and 10 seconds.
Josh Matthews: The Big Show knows that is a competitive time and will be interesting to see if anyone can beat that.
Michael Cole: For once I agree with Daniel Bryan, the three remaining contenders have tough opponents that will be hard to beat in under that time for me the Big Show will be heading to the Royal Rumble to win the World Heavyweight Title.
Josh Matthews: Don’t get too far ahead of yourself here Cole, there is still another three matches to go.
Michael Cole: Alright Josh but that’s what I think will happen.
Josh Matthews: Let’s change tune for a minute and focus on the simmering relationship between Teddy Long and Stephanie McMahon, the former and current GM of Smackdown.
Michael Cole: Yes since Teddy was replaced as GM by Stephanie he has tried to get back into the faces of the fans. He has aligned himself with JTG and Darren Young and this has meant that Stephanie has decided to set these two men a real challenge tonight by getting them to compete against two returning WWE Superstars.
Josh Matthews: Well it looks like Teddy Long, JTG and Darren Young are making their way to the ring.
He says this as “MacMillitant” plays throughout the arena as all three men make their way to the ring waiting to see who they’re opponents will be.

Josh Matthews: What an incredible pick up here for Smackdown these two are really going to make a stamp here on Smackdown I just know it.
Michael Cole: Some great business done by Stephanie McMahon and for Teddy Long I think he might need to re-evaluate things and try and get JTG and Darren Young going in the right direction as soon as possible.
Josh Matthews: That’s not the kind of way you want to start your association with a new manager at all.
Michael Cole: Teddy Long will get these guys going don’t worry about that.
Josh Matthews: Well it’s time for our next Beat the Clock Match and this time it’s Christian facing off with Drew McIntyre.
“Just Close Your Eyes” begins to play and Christian comes out to the arena.

Winner: Christian 9:03
Michael Cole: Christian has knocked Big Show off the podium and is now the number one contender.
Josh Matthews: That was really impressive for his first match back on Smackdown since his injury.
Michael Cole: The question is though can he stay there.
Josh Matthews: Well there are two men who are going to try and stop him and knock him out of the race.
Michael Cole: And neither has an easy opponent so this could go anyway.
Josh Matthews: It also means that Christian will not be the number one entrant into the Royal Rumble.
Michael Cole: You’re right Josh, the two slowest men will face off next week for the chance to force the loser into the number one spot.
Josh Matthews: Well so far next week it’s going to be Mark Henry vs. Big Show, but that could obviously change later in the night.
Michael Cole: Backstage right now we have the Animal, Batista, standing by with new backstage interviewer for Smackdown, Maxine.
Maxine: Thanks Michael and what a huge honour it is to be here on Smackdown. And for my first ever interview I’m here with the Animal, Dave Batista.
Batista: Right now I wanna talk about my match later on tonight against the Intercontinental Champion, Cody Rhodes, to get a shot at the World Heavyweight Title at the Royal Rumble, Daniel Bryan. I want to stress this one point, it’s every man for himself when it comes to the overall scheme of things. We have already seen the first three men go at it and Christian has set the pace. I can go over it every week in my head it doesn’t really matter what I say but instead it comes down to what happens in the ring. Tonight I’m leaving here as the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Title, and at the Royal Rumble I am leaving as the World Heavyweight Champion once more for the fifth time.
We fade out of the shot with a preview to the Royal Rumble PPV and once we return “End of Days” comes on throughout the arena and Wade Barrett comes out to some serious heat from the crowd.
“Written in My Face” follows this and Sheamus is met by the biggest pop of the night so far as he comes down the ramp.
Match Number Five – Beat the Clock Challenge: Sheamus versus Wade Barrett

Barrett with a reverse chin lock but Sheamus gets to his feet and he punches Barrett and hits a few head butts but Barrett with a punch that sends Sheamus to the apron. Sheamus drops Barrett on the top rope and Sheamus hits a series of clothesline but Barrett with a boot. The time of Christian and the Big Show float on by as both men are down in the middle of the ring. Sheamus with a slam to Barrett and then he puts Barrett in the ropes and he connects with a series of forearms across the chest. Barrett counters though with a thumb to the eyes. This allows Barrett to set up for the Wasteland but before he can deliver it the lights go out for the third week in a row and flash blue. This time once the lights come back in the arena is filled with a smoke. Barrett has dropped Sheamus and he is met by a massive Brogue Kick to take the pin for the win.
Winner: Sheamus 11:29
Michael Cole: Sheamus wasn’t quick enough here tonight to become the Number One Contender but his time also means that he is in the firing line to be the number one entrant into the Royal Rumble match.
Josh Matthews: It must be said though, Wade Barrett had this match under control until he was distracted for the third week in succession by the lighting in the arena.
Michael Cole: Something is clearly going on and focusing on Wade Barrett as the victim.
Josh Matthews: Three weeks in a row now Wade Barrett has been in control and he ends up losing due to the distraction.
Michael Cole: He needs to get this sorted out as last week as we saw it definitely wasn’t anyone from the production crew.
Josh Matthews: Maybe it is someone else.
Michael Cole: Whatever it is Wade Barrett needs to start winning in order to get his form back and the chance to capture the gold.
Josh Matthews: Well change of tune now the WWE Divas Title will be on the line at the Royal Rumble with Beth Phoenix defending against Tamina. But Natalya has soared up the rankings and is now level with Tamina as number one contenders so tonight if Natalya wins she will be added to the match at the Rumble.
“New Foundation” starts to play throughout the arena and Natalya comes out onto the stage to come out for the match.
“Anarchy” follows this and Tamina comes out without taking her focus off the ring and Natalya.

Tamina catches Natalya and hits a Samoan Drop and then Tamina goes up top for the Super fly Splash and she hits it and gets the three count.
Michael Cole: Tamina retains the right to face Beth in a one on one competition. This is sure going to be a great match come the Royal Rumble.
Josh Matthews: Natalya gave it her all but Tamina was able to do enough to get the win.
Michael Cole: Let’s head backstage with Maxine once more who is standing by the current man with the fastest time in the beat the clock challenge, Christian.
We go backstage once more to see Maxine with Christian.
Maxine: Christian, tonight you may be the one who gets to be the number one contender at the Royal Rumble. Your thoughts on the night so far.
Christian: So far there have been four matches so far in which I am the man to win in the fastest fashion. Only Batista can knock me off that perch. You see Maxine when I was a little kid growing up in Canada, I was always the last one picked in kickball and hockey but you see by the end of the night I would be the one that had kicked the most home runs and scored the most goals. You see I was the last kid in my class to grow hairs on my balls.
Maxine starts to laugh.
Christian: Now that’s not funny well it is slightly but you see come prom I had the prettiest girl in school and everyone was envious of me. Now fast forward to the WWE and this situation is no different. I was the last one to be entered into the Number One Contender mix, I was the last person who everyone thought would be World Champion but by the end of it all I have been World Champion and after tonight I will be the number one contender.
Christian walks off.
Maxine: Well thank you Christian, good luck tonight.

Batista with the Batista Bomb for the three count.
Winner: Batista 12:47.
Batista kicks the ropes as he looks up at the clock and realises that he is not the number one contender.
Michael Cole: Batista is the slowest qualifier can you believe that.
Josh Matthews: The Intercontinental Champion was never going to be an easy beat and he has done well to even get the win in my opinion.
Michael Cole: With Batista setting the time that he did it means that he will face Mark Henry next week in order to avoid the number one entry into the Royal Rumble.
Josh Matthews: That is going to be a huge match up next as well as the Semi Finals of the Hardcore Title with Justin Gabriel and Hunico facing off as well as Ezekiel Jackson and Drew McIntyre.
Michael Cole: What a huge Smackdown we have install for you so tune in next week for a massive encounter just two days before the Royal Rumble.

Re: It Begins: WWE 2012
First match was a little off as you kept going from spot to spot without having any smooth transitions into it, however the style of the two behemoths in Jackson and Henry did came across as it was an all out smash mouth affair. Not the most impressive time to set in the Beat the Clock but Ezekiel is certainly no easy adversary.
I didn’t exactly like Bryan promo as I felt he was just rambling senseless, however it did get back on track with his final line, as it was more on par with delusionally arrogant Bryan.
Big Show dominated Heat Slater…as he should. I do think that in time length it did went a little long but I won’t take that into consideration much. Big Show leads now.
Now this is a great way to handle a return in WGTT. You had already set expectations with the segment last week, and in this match you delivered. These two teams should have a nice feud coming on from this week.
Surprised to see that Christian turn out to be the quickest until now in beating Drew. Doesn’t exactly make Drew look good when Heath lasted longer against a giant than he did against a returning from injury competitor. The match itself was good and a lot smoother than the first one in the show.
I don’t think Batista would use the word scheme. I don’t know why but I just cant picture him saying that.
Damn Drew is not looking good. In any way it made sense for Wade to not lose as fast as the others, and we also had the storyline with him and the smoke continue. Taker?
Pretty sure I’ve heard or read a similar promo from Christian, although it was about him hitting puberty last. The line with hair on his balls was a little too crass. Promo got to deep with him channeling his childhood but it did get the message across and stressed the importance of his quest for being champion.
Surprised, as you clearly wanted us to be, that Batista didn’t even come close to beating Christian’s time. It did however created a sour ending to the show, as we were just left with a match that at one point had no reason in continuing. Match itself was good but I was missing something extra at the end, maybe Christian coming out to celebrate or something like that.
-I don’t get the point system you just posted. Christian technically is now the Number One Contender come the Royal Rumble yet he’s listed as the sixth challenger.

Re: It Begins: WWE 2012
i understand what your talking about with the points system regarding Christian although he won the number one contender match it doesn't mean he has the most points in the chase. This will be addressed on the Smackdown show posted soon.
thanks for the comments glad you're enjoying the show. i will take what you have written into advisement for my future shows.
CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler Contract Signing
On this week's episode of RAW we will see opponents in six days time sign the contracts that will see them face each other for the WWE Title. Will this be as simple as two men signing a contract or will all hell break loose on RAW between the champ and the number one contender with Cabana, Swagger and Guerrero all shore to be present.
Huge Ten Man Tag Match Main Event
10 men in the ring at the same time will be our main event. With the key feuds of the Raw locker room looking to face each other in what will definitely pit enemies with enemies along with seeing former enemies team up with one another. Come the Royal Rumble event in six days these teams will not all be friends so it will be interesting to see where the tensions lie and who comes out on top. Over the past few weeks we have seen the likes of Colt Cabana and Jack Swagger really get on each others nerves, John Cena and Ted Di Biase be distracted by the monsters that are Bobby Lashley and Kane, the Miz and R Truth have not gotten along since the Miz planted R Truth on the ramp as well as Punk and Ziggler battle it out over the WWE Title. All ten men will be in action come Sunday with eight in the Royal Rumble match itself which team will gain the momentum come the Royal Rumble.
Triple Threat Tag Team Action
We have seen some great young tag teams form and gain momentum in the last few weeks here on RAW and this week we will see three of them compete all at the same time. The Miz's cronies in Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins have made their presence felt here on Raw with their actions against R Truth in the past few weeks. But once R Truth teamed up with Percy Watson and Titus O'Neill the odds swung and evened everything out. Add in the exciting team of Alex Riley and Michael McGillicutty and you have yourself a bumper match that is going to be very entertaining for everyone involved.
Long Island or California
Last week we saw Zack Ryder defend his United States title against Kane, Brodus Clay and Ted DiBiase in a hellacious match, so this week we will see Ryder face Clay in one on one action. Should Brodus Clay win the match he will get a spot in the Royal Rumble to represent RAW. But if Zack Ryder were to win the match, Ryder will get a WWE Title match on next week's RAW. The stakes are high for both men as they look to further their careers in the WWE.
One on One Competition for Tag Team Rivals
Over the past two weeks we have seen Evan Bourne and Epico face as well as Kofi Kingston and Primo compete in one on one action. So this week we will see the reverse matches before the teams face off at the Royal Rumble for the tag team gold. The teams will be looking for as much momentum as possible in order to win the titles that they can achieve.
Diva's in Action
WWE Diva's Champion, Beth Phoenix will face Tamina at the Royal Rumble so in preparation for the match the Glamazon will face off against Eve Torres in what will be a very competitive match and could be a big way to move Eve up the rankings and one day receive another title match.
CM Punk, Colt Cabana, R Truth John Cena and Ted DiBiase vs. Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, The Miz Kane and Bobby Lashley
Brodus Clay vs Zack Ryder
Eve vs. Beth Phoenix
Triple Threat Tag Match
Alex Riley and Michael McGillicutty vs. Titus O'Neil and Percy Watson vs. Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks
Kofi Kingston vs. Epico
Evan Bourne vs. Primo
