World Wrestling Entertainment: The Beginning
What if WCW and Turner Broadcasting had bought WWF? What if the ratings wars were won by Nitro with Raw only getting a few victories in the 5 year span. From 1996-2001, WCW dominated the ratings wars. I take it upon myself to book Vince McMahon's new promotion, founded in 2002, the WWE. Now in real life, the F changed to the E but that's because of a lawsuit. The WWE would be a new promotion with no background. The WWF's key players before this buyout were Triple H, The Rock, Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Big Show and Chris Jericho. In WCW, Hulk Hogan didn't leave and Vince Russo was fired. WCW was at a high and WWF was at an all time low. WWF began rehashing old storylines such as Vince vs Austin. When the buyout happened, a lot of the big contracts were sold. Those included, The Rock, Stone Cold, Undertaker, Mick Foley, Kurt Angle and Big Show. The biggest surprise for McMahon was that Jericho didn't rejoin WCW. It had to be expected that X-Pac and Triple H didn't join WCW as Triple H is dating Stephanie and X-Pac is friends with Hunter. Some of the WCW stars left to get a bigger chance with the bigger stars coming in. Even with WCW gulping up the bigger stars, Vince McMahon still had the itch that he wanted to compete. WWE was formed when Vince McMahon wanted to give fans more of a fan expierance. This time Vince's desire wasn't to compete but to thrive and stay alive. Vince McMahon's WWE is meant to be for the fans, something that WCW is not. Vince realized that WCW's ratings were through the roof so he had to move to a smaller network.
