Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

REVIEW
First off... this is a really exciting PPV to be apart of, definitely worth a 5* rating. You've built it up greatly on raw over the last several weeks.

Christian and Jericho - a great rematch from Wrestlemania with the swerve of Regal and Eugene. I think they added some entertainment value to the outside of the ring while the action was happening inside. Jericho picking up the win with the Codebreaker is definitely good. I hope you keep this feud going over the next couple of weeks.

Ric Flair and Lance Storm - Short match, but a classic match for the Nature Boy. I am happy that you chose a submission match as the stipulation as I always enjoy seeing the figure four. Good way to end Storms career as said above.

HIAC - definitely a train wreck between to men with a bitter feud to settle. I have never read a more disgusting (good) match as I have with this. Sad that Foley didn't pick up the win, but it definitely did help to elevate Randy Orton's career while cementing Foley's legacy as a Hardcore Icon.

WGTT and Dudleys - a short match between two great teams. I felt that this was definitely your weakest match. I think these two teams would have had the potential to put on a classic tag team contest on a night with so many classic matches. The right team did pick up the win.

Rock and HHH - great back and forth contest between two of WWEs greatest talent. Rock picking up the win in the end is great for his career. I know he will probably go back to "hollywood", but would hope that maybe he might stay and will argue over HHH's World Title opportunity. I would love to see the Rock face the World Champion once again.

Iron Man Match - definitely the best Iron Match Match ever. I love the fact the Benoit was left behind HBK so often in the match, but finally tied at the 59:25 mark. The overtime needed to happen for these two superstars. I love the fact that Benoit won, but a little part of me was hoping for an Edmonton "Screw Job".

Looking forward to Monday Night RAW.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Thanks for the reviews guys. I'm glad you enjoyed the ppv. Still welcoming reviews until i get Raw up after this preview. Raw show should be posted by Tuesday. A few matches at Backlash were short because of time constraints as i had an iron man match on the show.

WWE Raw Preview
April 19, 2004

SEE ALL OF THE FALLOUT FROM BACKLASH

Less than 24 hours after Backlash, Monday Night RAW comes to you live from Calgary with all of the fallout from the pay-per-view spectacular.

In front of his hometown, Chris Benoit successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash in an Iron Man Match against the Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels. After competing in such a grueling match, Eric Bischoff has announced that both men will be in action tonight.

The main event for tonight’s show will be an all Canadian 6 Man Tag Team Match. Last night was Chris Benoit day but tonight it’s Lance Storm day. In Lance Storm’s final WWE match he will team with world heavyweight champion Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho as they take on Christian and La Resistance members Sylvan Grenier and Rene Dupree. Will Lance Storm win his final match in his hometown or will his career end on a sour note.

Lance Storm was upset last night that his final ppv match ended in interference. Following the ppv Lance requested Eric Bischoff that his final match will have no outside interference. Eric Bischoff has granted Storm his request which means Trish Stratus, A-Train and La Resistance member Rob Conway are barred from ringside. However Eric Bischoff has appointed a referee for this match and that is a man that is hated by Canadian fans, Earl Hebner. Eric Bischoff decided not to have Earl Hebner as the referee for the main event last night because he did not want to put Earl in another difficult position. In other words, he did not want Earl to screw over Chris Benoit in his hometown. However tonight as the world heavyweight title is not being defended, Earl will be refereeing the main event in Canada. Will Earl call this match down the middle? Have the Canadian fans forgiven Earl Hebner? If they haven't then will they forgive Earl if he calls this match down the middle?

As for HBK he will be in action against A-Train. What kind of condition will Michaels be in when he goes up against the monster A-Train.

Fans witnessed an amazing Hell in a Cell Match between the legendary Cactus Jack and Randy Orton at Backlash. In the end it was Orton who was able to pull out the win, further solidifying his Legend Killer claims. Now that Orton has ended Mick Foley's career, how will Orton celebrate his huge victory?

It would have been a perfect night for Evolution but HHH hit Rock Bottom against The Rock. Is HHH still the number one contender or has the Rock’s victory changed the whole scene on who the next contender is for the world heavyweight title?

Also tonight The Dudleys will receive a rematch as they take on The World’s Greatest Tag Team in a tag team tables match.

Gail Kim returned to Raw two weeks ago and scored a victory over Trish Stratus in a mixed tag team match. Tonight the two Canadian divas go at it in a one on one match. Will Gail score another victory over Trish or will Trish get her revenge? All this and more on Monday Night Raw.

Confirmed Matches
Main Event: 6 Man Tag Team Match: Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho and Lance Storm vs Christian and La Resistance(Sylvan Grenier and Rene Dupree)
Trish Stratus vs Gail Kim
Shawn Michaels vs A-Train
Tag Team Championship Tables Match: The World’s Greatest Tag Team (c) vs The Dudleys

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Bloody 'ell mate! This looks like a great show, coming off what was a great PPV to read (Sorry I didn't get a review up, I'll definately review this upcoming Raw).

I think that this All Canadian match is a great idea, as the fans would definitely love it, and it seems a great way to send Lance Storm off. I'm going for the good guys to get the win, as both Benoit and Jericho just came off huge wins at Backlash, and I don't think you'd make good ol' Lance lose his last match, but I can't wait to read that main event.

I'm expecting to see some more from The Rock and Evolution, as Rocky definitely has a bone to pick with Orton for retiring Foley, and then there is of course Triple H.

All in all, it looks like a great show, especially with the Tables Match as well, and it seems like a great way to show the fall out from Backlash :)

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

WWE Raw
April 19, 2004

Highlights are shown from Backlash which shows clips from the world title match, HHH vs Rock and the Hell in a Cell Match.

Evolution are shown arriving in a limousine. They all seem like in a good mood except HHH. Todd Grisham asks HHH despite what happened last night against the Rock, is HHH still the #1 contender? HHH tells Todd that he asked such a stupid question because The Rock getting a fluke win last night simply does not make Rock the #1 contender. Since losing the title, he's yet to have his rematch. He is the official #1 contender and there is nothing anyone can do about it. He’s going to get what he wants and Evolution walk off.

The Raw video package plays as the announcers welcome us to the show. Last night was Chris Benoit day and tonight is Lance Storm day as Raw is from Storm’s hometown in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Raw starts off with the world heavyweight champion Chris Benoit coming out to the ring and saluting the fans. Benoit is handed a mic and starts talking about how his journey on how started out as a wrestler. It all started in Calgary in Stu Hart’s dungeon. It was a long journey to get to the top and at WrestleMania he became champion. However some people doubted him, they thought he was not for real. HHH called him a one hit wonder but last night at Backlash, he finally proved he is for real. He had the match of his life against Shawn Michaels and proved that he can beat him and would love to have another round with HBK. Somewhere down the line they would meet again. HBK’s music hits as he comes out to a mixed reaction and requests a mic.

Fans start a “you tapped out chant.” Michaels addresses the crowd. The first thing he says is yes he did but if he didn’t he would have been the one walking out right now with the world heavyweight title. He thanks Benoit for such an amazing match. He was so close to capturing the gold again but at the end his luck ran out. He was 2 minutes away from winning the title but he made a mistake. The pain he suffered throughout the match, he was pretty banged up near the end. What he tried at WrestleMania 12 worked, but what he did last night backfired on him. He knows he can beat Chris, Chris knows it. He had him beat last night but Benoit proved last night he was the man but HBK still believes he is better and wants that chance again at some point. No man could ever take Chris to the limit than HBK and HBK gave Chris the toughest match of his career. HBK then puts Benoit over and said last night Benoit proved he is for real and made a believer out of HBK. Fans start cheering for HBK a bit. Benoit responds and tells HBK that he respects him and would love to go at it with him again and decided to give HBK another crack at the gold. Shawn and Benoit shake hands with intensity.

HHH’s music hits as he makes his way out on the stage with a mic in his hand. HHH wants to know what the hell is going on here. Who the hell do they think they are. HHH tells HBK that he had his chance at the title last night and lost. The only one worthy of being #1 contender is him. He still hasn’t had his rematch yet and if there is anybody that deserves a shot at the world title then it’s him, not HBK or any other guy. They have to go at the back of the line and wait for their opportunity because he’s the only man in this business that’s worthy of holding that world heavyweight title. HHH tells Shawn that Shawn beat him to get that title match at Backlash but since Shawn lost last night, it automatically puts the game in contention for the world title. That belt is his life. Chris Benoit responds back and tells HHH he will give him all the rematches he wants but the result will be the same and that he will tap out. Since Eric Bischoff named HHH the #1 contender, HHH lost last night, it should be him that should go to the back of the line. He has nothing to prove to HHH because he made him tap at WrestleMania. Eric Bischoff comes out on the stage and stands next to HHH. Eric said he’s the only one who makes matches around here and we’re not going to see Benoit vs HBK next week. He doesn’t care if they wrestled a 1 hour match, they will be in action tonight. He did promise HHH a title shot but since he lost last night it’s put him in a dilemma. Other guys feel they should be in contention for a title shot. It’s a tough job to please everyone on Raw but he’s fair so he will come to a decision about the #1 contendership before the end of the night.

Backstage in Bischoff’s office La Resistance are complaining about not receiving a tag title shot. Rene doesn’t understand why Eric gave the Dudleys a rematch especially after they lost last night. Eric assures them that they will soon get a tag title shot, he had other plans for them tonight and this is why they are in the main event for tonight’s show. Eric asked them when they get the title shot they have to come to a decision which two from the three would be competing for tag titles. Rob Conway told Eric they're going to make a statement and then the tag champs will take notice and will take them seriously.

Lance Storm Moment: A clip is shown of Storm in ECW and WCW.

Match 1
Trish Stratus vs Gail Kim

Gail comes out first to a good ovation, Trish comes out to a bigger ovation. Lawler mentions that the amazing couple of Christian and Trish were taking photos at a studio last week. This is going to be a big night for Christian and Trish. The bell rings as the divas lock up. Trish and Gail go back and forth with right hands. Drop toe hold into the second rope from Gail Kim. Gail traps Trish into a corner and gives her a few kicks into the chest. Trish rolls out the ring and kills time and gets back in before the 10 count. When she gets back in, Gail gets an insiguri on Trish and goes for a cover and Trish gets her foot on the rope at two. Gail whips Trish into the corner and goes for a handspring elbow but Trish moves out the way and grabs Gail by the hair and throws her down. Trish gets a ddt on Gail and gets a near fall. Gail reverses a whip and rolls up Trish for a near fall. Trish ducks a clotheslines and gets a neckbreaker. Trish attempts a sharpshooter which draws a pop from the crowd but Gail rolls Trish up for a near fall. Gail dropkicks Trish and connects with a hurracanrana. Gail goes to the top rope for a moonsault but Trish moves out the way. Trish picks Gail up and hits the stratusfaction for the 3 count.
Winner: Trish Stratus

Christian, Trish and A-Train meet Eric Bischoff in the back. Trish is pleased to get a win in her country but was not pleased with what happened last night. She starts complaining about Eugene. She blames him for ruining Christian’s match last night, he couldn’t focus. Christian starts complaining about last night. He feels he’s done enough to warrant a title shot. Jericho, HBK, HHH and Rock have all had their opportunities and now it’s Captain Charisma’s time. Eric apologised to Trish for Eugene’s behaviour and he will talk to Regal about it when he meets him later on. He agrees with Christian that he’s more than worthy of a title shot but he will come to a decision later on. Christian decided that there is one way to convince Eric and that’s when he pins Benoit tonight in the 6 man tag match.

Match 2
Tag Team Title Tables Match
The World's Greatest Tag Team (c) vs The Dudleys

This is a rematch from last night but this time it’s a tables match. The Dudleys are lucky to receive another opportunity and if they lose tonight then it’s very unlikely to see them getting a title shot soon. Last night The World’s Greatest Tag Team made quick work of the Dudleys but tonight it’s a match which favours the Dudleys. Pinfalls and submissions are irrelevant in this match up. The match ends when one member of a team is driven through the table. Both teams make their way down to the ring and the bell rings. Haas and Benjamin waste no time and immediately attempt to grab a table from underneath the ring but The Dudleys meet them outside and stop them. Both teams brawl outside and The Dudleys sends the tag champs back in the ring. Back in The Dudleys get the early advantage by hitting some right hands on the champions. The Dudleys on a roll early against the champs. Bubba lifts Haas up on his shoulders and D-Von gets a backdrop neckbreaker on Haas. They hit the Wazzup drop and they want to end this quick. Bubba signals for the tables. They go and grab a table from outside but Shelton runs the ropes and dive's through the ropes, landing on the Dudleys on the floor. Now the WGTT are in control hitting some nice double team moves on The Dudleys. The Dudleys make a comeback and finally grab a table from outside the ring and they bring the table inside the ring. D-Von sets up the table in the middle of the ring. He places Shelton on the table and goes up to the top. Shelton quickly gets off the table and jumps on the top rope and hits a suplex on D-Von but quickly Bubba moves the table. Wise move by Bubba. Bubba places the table back in the middle. The Dudleys attempt a 3D on the table on Shelton but Haas moves the table out the way. Haas clotheslines Bubba to the floor.

WGTT hit their german suplex/superkick combo finisher. Now WGTT place the table in the middle. Haas lifts up D-Von on his shoulders as Shelton goes to the top as they attempt the doomsday device. Buh Buh gets in and moves the table and Shelton takes D-Von down with a clothesline. Haas gets another table and sets it up. The Dudleys set up the other table. Both teams are brawling in the ring until La Resistance run down to the ring with Johnny the Bull and Chuck Palumbo and attack both teams. Rene instructs Conway and Grenier to hit the au revoir on Shelton through the table. Haas gets tabled. Johnny the Bull and Chuck send Bubba through the table via a double powerbomb. La Resistance, Bull and Chuck celebrate in the ring. La Resistance are upset that they did not receive a tag title shot. Chuck and Johnny the Bull who were overlooked on Smackdown, wanted to make a statement on Raw and they certainly have.
Result: No Contest

Lance Storm Moment: A clip is shown of Storm winning the Intercontinental title, Storm’s t-shirt segment with Kurt Angle and Storm winning the tag team titles in 2002.

Backstage Lance Storm, Jericho and Benoit are standing by with Todd Grisham. Storm was disappointed that he lost last night but he can certainly make up for it tonight in his last match in his hometown. He wants to go out in style and it is an honour for him to team with two of his very good friends. Jericho promised not to let Storm down. They go back a long way when they teamed up in Smoky Mountain Wrestling as the Thrillseekers. Todd Grisham wants to know the name of the amazing move Jericho pulled off last night. Jericho calls his new finisher The Code Breaker and tonight he will beat Christian again. Jericho then turns his attention to Benoit and Jericho knows that Benoit is a fighting champion. They’ve had great battles in the past but never for the world title. HHH may be the #1 contender but he lost last night. Shawn Michaels may want another opportunity but Y2J also won last night and Jericho would like to test the rabid wolverine. Somewhere down the line he would like to have a title shot against Benoit. Benoit tells Jericho that he would love to step in the ring with Jericho again. Christian appears and interrupts them. He looks at Jericho and calls his win last night a fluke. He just spoke to Eric Bischoff and he’s going to make a statement tonight by pinning the world heavyweight champion Chris Benoit. Christian told them that they are an embarrasment to Canada and only he is the greatest Canadian star ever. Benoit fires back and states that a lot of guys want a shot at the belt but he never backs down from a challenge. Anytime, any place, he will make Christian tap. Christian had a smirk on his face and walks off.

Randy Orton’s music hits as the Intercontinental champion makes his way down to ringside. He comes out in a suit and tie and has a big smile on his face. Orton gets a mic and starts posing in the ring. He recaps what happened last night, he told everyone he would do what he said and he delivered. He did it all by himself. He became a legend last night and showed everyone a side of his that they have never seen. He never wanted to become sadistic like Cactus but if you mess with Evolution then you will pay a big price. Mick Foley last night paid the ultimate price by having his career ended. His wife started pleading with him to let Mick go but he gave Mick the biggest beating of his life. Now they will never forget this for the rest of their lives. He continued to talk trash about Mick Foley. Orton showed a video clip of his feud with Foley which showed only Orton getting the best of Foley. It showed Orton kicking Foley down the steps at Madison Square Garden last year, Orton spitting in Mick’s face and Mick walks out. Evolution defeating The Rock and Sock at WrestleMania and then Orton ending Mick’s career at Backlash. Orton continued to talk trash about Mick and his family until The Rock’s music hits as he comes down to confront Orton.

The Rock gets a mic and this is quite a moment. Orton has a big smirk on his face. He looks at Rock and said this is the first time they’ve actually spoken to each other and he wants to know what exact reason is the Rock out here for? Everyone thought he didn’t stand a chance against Mick Foley but he beat him at his own game. He ended his career. He beat Mick Foley without any help. What Rock did to Mick Foley at Royal Rumble 99 infront of Mick’s family was simply nothing compared to what Orton did to Mick at Backlash. Is Rock out here to congratulate Orton for proving he is a bigger legend than Mick Foley? The Rock looks at Orton right in the eye and says finally the Rock has come back to Calgary. Rock said yes this is the first time they’ve actually spoken to each other. He’s seen Orton run his mouth over the last 10 months, talking trash about Mick Foley. Now that Mick has gone, Orton is continuing to run his mouth about Mick and his family. The Rock said If Orton continues to talk about Mick’s family he’d put his foot up Orton’s candy ass. Crowd pops huge. Orton reminds Rock of the last time Rock tried to be saviour for Mick Foley it simply didn’t work out because at WrestleMania it was Rock and Mick’s comeback match and they lost to Evolution. He killed the legend of Stone Cold at Survivor Series and killed the legend of Mick Foley last night, by next year who knows he could be headlining the Hall of Fame. Evolution had an almost perfect night last night but Rock ruined it, he had to cheat to beat HHH. However that does not mean that Rock has now moved in contention for a title shot, HHH is still the #1 contender and he will always be better than The Rock. Infact since they’re both 3rd generation stars, Orton believes he’s even better than Shane McMahon and The Rock. Orton said he’s much better looking and much more talented than The Rock. The Rock should go back to Hollywood because the WWE has moved on without the Rock. Now it’s all about Evolution. Rock said is that what you think? Orton was about to talk but Rock cuts him off with his IT DOESN'T MATTER line. Rock then runs down Orton on the mic and tells him that he gets more pie than him in a lifetime. The crowd absolutely loved this and Orton gets pissed off. Rock said he whooped HHH’s ass last night and he’s ready to whoop some more ass tonight. Orton responded by saying he deserves respect. He’s the legend killer. He is the future of the WWE. Rock said he doesn’t give a monkeys crap who Orton is and what he did. There’s only one jabroni beating, pie eating, trail blazing, eye brow raising peoples champ THE ROCK and he’s going to whoop Orton's candy ass right now all over Calgary. He asked the people if they want to see Rock whoop Orton’s ass in the ring right now. Huge pop.

Orton says he’s tired, he’s sore and beatdown. He’s in no shape to compete tonight. He needs a rest for two weeks. If he wasn’t tired, sore and beatdown he would give Rock, the Mick Foley treatment. He does not want to unleash that side of his again and as of now on, he will not be competing in violent matches until he feels like he wants to. Just look at what’s happened to him, he had to cancel his date, look at his face. Look what he had to go through last night. He really wanted to defend his Intercontinental title tonight but he didn’t want to risk injury. Rock’s had enough and drops the mic and lays a right hand on Orton. He’s laying the Smackdown on Orton and knocks him over the top rope. He taunts Orton to get back in. Eric Bischoff’s music hits and he comes out on the stage. Eric tells Rock to stop right there. Eric states that of all the guys that competed last night, Orton is the one who needs the most rest. Orton is in no shape to compete tonight so he’s giving Randy the night off in ring action. However Bischoff states that Rock will be in action later on tonight against an Evolution member. A man who he’s never faced before in a one on one match and that man is fresh since he didn’t compete last night. That man is Batista. Bischoff states that a special guest referee will be named for this match later on. Orton had a big smirk on his face and Rock looks at Orton and tells him to just bring it.

Backstage William Regal scolds Eugene and tells him that uncle Eric will get mad at him if he starts doing sily things again. Eugene was a bit upset and told Regal that he wanted to play with Trish. She sounds like fun. Regal said she doesn’t want to play with Eugene. Maybe if Eugene becomes a wrestler then she may want to play with Eugene. Eugene gets excited and Regal told Eugene that he must listen to him. First of all the first week in training was a complete disaster as it went completely wrong. Finlay has decided not to go continue on with it. He wants Eugene to understand how this is all done. He promised to find someone who can motivate Eugene and help him become a wrestler because he can’t do this alone. It just won’t work. They go to Eric’s office and Eric is mad at Regal. Regal said it’s hard to control Eugene but Eric doesn’t want to hear excuses. Regal told Eric that training Eugene has so far been a disaster. When he showed Eugene a wrist lock, Eugene decided to be like George the animal Steele and started biting his hand. Eric decided to give Regal and Eugene two weeks off and in the next two weeks, Regal has to get Eugene ready. He doesn’t care who he gets to help him. When they return if Eugene does not learn how to wrestle, then he’s putting Regal back in the ring and Regal will wrestle the entire group of La Resistance in a handicap match. Regal did not like this but Eric told Regal to get out of here and start looking for someone to assist him in training Eugene.

Match 3
Shawn Michaels vs A-Train

Shawn Michaels is selling his knee injuries from last night. A-Train controls early with power moves on HBK. A-Train looked for a powerbomb but Michaels slipped out and went for an inside cradle for a two. Michaels sent A-Train into the ropes and gets a flying forearm. He sent A-Train into the ropes again but got met with a back elbow from A-Train. A-Train gets a backbreaker for a two. A-Train lifts Michaels up and gets body press slam. A-Train clotheslines Michaels over the top but HBK skins the cat back in and A-Train lays Michaels out with the bicycle kick. A-Train took his time for a cover and Michaels kicked out at two. A-Train continued to pound away at Michaels. He works on Michaels knee and goes to the top rope and misses a legdrop. Michaels rams the big A-Train's head into the buckle and goes to the top and gets a flying bodypress for a near fall. Michaels goes for a piledriver but A-Train counters with a backdrop. A-Train whipped Michaels into a corner and misses a charge, Michaels hit a clothesline and went to the top rope. Michaels scores with the diving elbow drop. Michaels tunes up for the band and he’s going to kick A-Train’s head off. A-Train stumbles back up to his feet and Michaels plants A-Train in the face with the superkick. Michaels went for the cover and got the three count for the win.
Winner: Shawn Michaels

Eric Bischoff meets Earl Hebner backstage. Crowd boos Earl heavily. Eric asked Earl if he wants to go ahead with it and face the fans. Otherwise he can appoint another referee. Earl thinks he is ready. He is nervous but he wants to get this off his chest and after calling the match down the middle he hopes that the fans forgive him.

Elsewhere The Dudleys meet The World’s Greatest Tag Team in the back. The Dudleys and WGTT decided to put their differences behind and wanted to get payback on La Resistance and Chuck and Bull. The Dudleys wanted to know if they are with them or against them. The Dudleys extend a handshake. At first WGTT are hesitant but they shake their hands.

Match 4
The Rock vs Batista
Special Guest Referee: The Coach

Eric Bischoff comes out on the stage and announced that THE COACH will be the referee. Eric comes down to do commentary and watch this match up close and personal. The Rock comes out first. Batista comes out next and Orton accompanies Batista down to ringside. Rock looks over at Orton and then looks at Coach. He then turns his attention to Batista as the bell rings. Rock immediately starts laying the smackdown on Batista by nailing a few right hands. Rock runs to the ropes and is met by a hard clothesline by Batista. Batista starts pounding on Rock in the corner. He then sends Rock to the ropes and gets a big back bodydrop. Batista gets a standing vertical suplex and goes for a cover. Coach does a fast count and Rock kicks out. Batista whips Rock into the buckle and Rock falls down. Batista goes for a sleeper. Crowd gets behind Rock and Rock gets up and fights out of it and clotheslines Batista. Rock gets a DDT and goes for a cover and Coach pretends to argue with Orton and doesn’t cover. Rock gets up and gets in Coach’s face and Batista jumps Rock from behind. He tosses Rock over the top rope and Orton lays the boots on Rock. He throws Rock back in. Batista starts manhandling Rock in the corner again and goes for a headlock. Rock gets out again and whips Batista to the ropes and hits a flying clothesline. Rock sends Batista to the ropes and gets a spinebuster. Rock sets up for a peoples elbow but Orton gets on the apron for a distraction. So Rock decides to follow Orton out and goes after him. Batista follows him out and attacks Rock. He sends Rock into the steel post. He sends Rock back in and gets a sidewalk slam. Coach again does a fast count and Rock kicks out. Batista hits a spinebuster and sets Rock up for a Batista Bomb. Rock slips out and counters with a ddt. Both men are down. Rock is up first and sends Batista to the ropes and gets a spinebuster. Rock goes for the peoples elbow again and he hits it. Rock goes for a cover but Coach doesn’t cover. He acts as if something is in his eyes. Rock lays the smackdown on Coach and sends him over the top rope. Orton gets on the apron and Rock throws him in and gives Orton some right hands. Rock clotheslines Batista to the floor. Coach calls for the bell and disqualifies the Rock for putting his hands on him.

Winner: Batista by Disqualification

The Rock goes outside the ring and brings Coach back in and hits a Rock Bottom on Coach. He sets up for a peoples elbow but Eric Bischoff comes down to ringside and tells Rock to stop right now. Rock can’t put his hand on an official. Eric gets in the ring. He lets Rock know that he was going to include The Rock in a #1 contenders match for next week but since he put his hands on Coach, he’s not going to get that opportunity. He announced a fatal 4 way # 1 contenders match for next week between HHH, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho and Christian. The winner gets a title shot the following week on Raw against Chris Benoit. The Rock won’t be receiving a title shot. Eric laughs and Rock gets pissed off and hits the Rock Bottom on Eric Bischoff. Crowd pop huge for this as Rock’s music hits. Rock makes his way back down to the ramp. Eric stumbles back to his feet and tells Rock that he made the biggest mistake of his life. You don’t put your hands on Eric Bischoff. Bischoff suspends Rock for a month. Rock runs back in and hits another Rock Bottom on Eric. Rock poses in the ring and leaves.

Backstage The Rock is leaving and meets a few officials and meets Rosey. Rosey gets his moment with The Rock. Rock then meets Eugene for the first time. Eugene starts marking out, he’s very excited to meet The Rock. Rock said it’s great to meet Eugene and he will see him after a month. Regal had a big smirk on his face and shouts that’s it i got it. He stops Rock and wanted to talk to him. He told Rock if he can have can quickly ask Eugene something. He whispered in Eugene’s ear and told him something. Eugene gets excited and goes over and hugs Rock. Rock is confused. Eugene says Mr Regal, he wants to be like The Rock. Regal explained his situation to Rock about Eugene. However Eugene is failing to co-operate with him and Finlay has given up on Eugene. He would have asked Chris Jericho but Jericho is too busy with his issues with Trish, Christian and A-Train. However since Rock will be gone for a month, he pleads with Rock to train Eugene and make him into a star. Eugene starts impersonating The Rock and Rock thinks about it for a few seconds and agreed to it. Big pop. This is also a good chance for Regal to get back at Bischoff for putting Regal in such a crazy assignment. Bischoff just suspended the Rock and Rock will now train Eric’s nephew Eugene to become a wrestler. Segment ended with Rock running Eric Bischoff down on the mic and saying his catchphrase. Eugene cuts him off by finishing off the catchphrase. Regal quickly stops Eugene and tells him he’s not supposed to do that, he looks at Rock and apologises and tells Rock to continue. Rock ends it by saying if ya smell what the Rock is cooking. Rock leaves and Regal is smiling and tells Eugene “Two weeks my boy, you will be a star.”

In the back HHH is with Evolution. He's glad that Rock is suspended. That’s one guy out the picture. Orton said just like Mick Foley, Rock's gone but when Rock returns from suspension, Evolution will destroy him. HHH feels that he shouldn’t have to go through a #1 contenders match but now that Rock’s out the picture, he is now getting close to getting his world title back. He vows to beat Michaels, Jericho and Christian next week and then he’s coming right for Benoit. HHH applauds Batista for the good job he did out there against Rock. He now has a plan. He wants Batista to face Benoit next week in a non title match, he wants Batista to soften up Benoit. Then when HHH wins the #1 contenders match then the following week he will face Benoit when Benoit won't be at 100%. He will beat Benoit and the world title will be around his waist again. Flair thinks this is a great idea. Batista agreed, he's going to tear Benoit apart.

Lance Storm Moment: More clips for Storm as they show Austin’s segment with Storm when he called Storm boring. Storm becoming a ladies man and finally Storm defeating Ric Flair last week on Raw.

Main Event
6 Man Tag
Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho and Lance Storm vs Christian, Rene Dupree and Sylvan Grenier

Earl Hebner is the referee for this match and the fans boo him heavily. Fans start the “you screwed Bret” chants. The heels come out first. Storm is out next as he comes out to a great ovation. Jericho is out next followed by the world heavyweight champion Chris Benoit. Jerry Lawler points out that A-Train, Trish and Rob Conway are not out here as Eric Bischoff has assured Lance Storm that no one will get involved in his final match. However he’s appointed Earl Hebner as the referee for this match and Lawler says the big question is will Storm get screwed in his final match or will Hebner call this match down the middle?

The bell rings and the match is officially underway. Benoit is ready to start this off against Christian but Christian points at Jericho and he wants him in the ring. Benoit tags Jericho so it’s going to be Jericho starting this off with Christian. Christian wants payback from last night. Christian immediately charges into Jericho and Jericho takes him down with an armdrag. Christian comes back with a kick to the gut and comes across the ropes for a clothesline, Jericho ducks and goes to the ropes and gets a clothesline. Jericho starts chopping away at Christian. He whips him to the buckle but gets boot. Christian climbs to the second rope and gets a flying bodypress for a near fall. Christian tags in Sylvan. Sylvan starts kicking away at Jericho, he sends Jericho to the ropes but Jericho comes back with a flying forearm. Jericho tags Storm. Storm gets a right hand on Sylvan. Storm connects with an atomic drop followed by a swinging neck breaker. Storm whips Sylvan to the ropes but Sylvan catches Storm with a knee lift. He tags in Rene Dupree and La Resistance start double teaming Storm. Dupree uses a reverse chin lock to slow down the match. Storm manages to fight out of it and goes to the ropes but Dupree levels him with a clothesline. Dupree tags in Christian. Christian connects with a suplex and gets a two. Christian distracts the ref as La Resistance double team Storm in the corner. Christian whips Storm to the ropes and Storm comes back with a spinning heel kick. Both men are down and Storm gets the hot tag to Benoit as Christian tags in Sylvan. Benoit takes Sylvan down with a clothesline, Dupree gets in and Benoit takes him down with a clothesline. The ref orders Dupree to get back in his corner. Benoit hits some knife edge chops on Sylvan. Benoit whips Sylvan to the ropes and gets a back bodydrop. Benoit goes to the top and hits the diving headbutt. He goes for a cover and Dupree breaks it up at two.

Midway through the match the heels are in control again as Christian is in the ring with Jericho. Christian takes Jericho down with a reverse ddt. Christian’s team make quick tags as they prevent Jericho from making the tag to his partners. Rene Dupree is in the ring, he does his french tickler taunt and gets a camel clutch on Jericho. Jericho is able to escape and Jericho takes Dupree down with a bulldog. He hits the lionsault and goes for a cover and Christian breaks it up at two. Jericho clotheslines Christian to the floor. He goes after Christian but Christian gets back in and Dupree starts hammering away on Jericho. Jericho comes back and nails him with a running insiguri. He tags in Benoit and Benoit goes for a crossface but Sylvan breaks it up. Christian is tagged in and Christian and Benoit exchange some right hands and Benoit comes back with more powerful rights. Christian comes back with a knee to the gut. Benoit gains some momentum and fights back with some hard chops. He sends Christian into the buckle. He goes for a charge but Christian hits a boot to the face in the corner. Christian goes up to the top and connects with a tornado ddt which gets a near fall. Christian tags Sylvan in and Sylvan goes for a suplex on Benoit, Benoit slips out and rolls Sylvan up for a two count. Benoit tags in Lance Storm and Storm takes Sylvan down with a clothesline, he follows up with a dropkick. Storm nails Sylvan with a superkick. Rene Dupree breaks up the pin and all hell breaks loose in the ring. Big brawl in the ring. Jericho hits the codebreaker on Rene Dupree. Jericho and Christian end up fighting on the floor. Benoit hits five german suplexes on Sylvan. Dupree backdrops Storm to the floor. Benoit picks Sylvan up and connects with a snap suplex. He goes for the headbutt from the top rope but Dupree moves Sylvan out the way. La Resistance set Benoit up for the Au Revoir and they hit it. They go for the cover and Storm makes the save. Jericho and Christian fight up the ramp and Jericho knocks Christian down. Benoit and Storm double clothesline Dupree over the top rope. Benoit drops Sylvan with a german suplex. Storm who’s the legal man goes for a sharpshooter on Sylvan. This draws a huge pop from the crowd. Sylvan taps and Storm, Jericho and Benoit win.

Winners: Lance Storm, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit

Storm, Jericho and Benoit celebrate in the ring. Earl Hebner did his job and he did not screw over Lance Storm. Christian looks on from the ramp and throws a tantrum. He did not get one over Benoit, Jericho and Storm tonight but next week he has the opportunity to become #1 contender if he wins the fatal four way match. Storm goes to the top turnbuckle and raises his arm in the air. This is Storm’s last match and he gets a great ovation from the crowd. Raw ends with Storm, Jericho and Benoit celebrating in the ring.

Next Week on Raw: #1 contenders fatal 4 way match: HHH vs Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho vs Christian

Non Title: Chris Benoit vs Batista

For The Rock/Orton promo I could have gone with Rock and Orton saying so much more but no point doing it all in one go. I will save the rest for some other time when Rock comes back from suspension. Next week Regal and Eugene also won’t be on Raw, so training skits with Regal, Rock and Eugene will be featured for my next two Raw shows.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Monday Night Raw Review

I'm liking Trips still being the number one contender, and I think you'll start to work Benoit into this Rock/Evolution feud soon hopefully.

I like that you went down the respect route here, and actually managed to get the hostile fans on the side of Shawn. Benoit vs Michaels would be great to see again, and I hope Michaels does earn himself another shot down the line. The chemistry between the three men you had there was good, and you seemed to capture Triple H very well, I really liked the line about the belt being his life.

Maybe some friction between La Resistance? It seems that Conway would be the one that is left out, but he was the one that seemed the most defiant about being Tag Champ.

I like this little Lance Storm bits, really going down the route that this is his night.

Ah, 2 Canadian Divas going at it, and really this can just give Trish a little boost, as she can now say she is Canada's finest.

Christian being pushed to the WHC scene? Sounds good, but we'll just have to see if he can hang with Benoit in the main event. I think that Christian still has some unfinished business with Eugene first, which could lead to a possible match down the line.

Ah okay, I'm glad that TWGTT retained, and I see that this was one of the few ways that they could keep the titles in a Tables match against The Dudleys. Showing off Bull and Chuck as well as La Resistance gives us a good look at your tag team division, and it is good there are at least 4 teams here, all of whom could contend for the straps.

The interview was good, and the way Benoit and Christian reacted hyped up the main event even more, and highlighted just how important it is for Christian to impress.

Orton is being built perfectly in your thread. Having a Hell in a Cell victory over Mick Foley will get any man over, and he is just a dick plain and simple. His Legend Killer gimmick is in full force. Rock coming out was expected, as he was standing up for his friend. I'm looking forward to seeing/reading Batista vs Rock later on.

I love Regal and Eugene in this. Regal is starting to actually care about Eugene, but still himself. Bischoff's threats making Regal's intentions clear.

Good way to keep Michaels strong, as losing here would have been bad for his momentum, expecially after only just losing to Benoit at Backlash. Its good to see that you kept his knee injury in there as well, and it hadn't magically healed.

Dudleys and WGTT alliance seems cool, and I think it will show off your tag division very well.

:lmao Coach. Rock not losing cleanly here doesn't hurt his credibility one bit, nor does it harm Batista.

The Fatal 4 Way match seems huge! and I can understand why The Rock wouldn't be included. The four guys you did pick are all worthy contenders however.

Oh this is going to be good. I can only begin to imagine what fun you could have with Rock and Euegene. And hopefully Rock will use Eugene to get a little revenge at Bischoff perhaps? I can see this being an authority feud, and then Rock will eventually get his hands on Eric.

Another big match added for next week, The Animal versus The Rabid Wolverine.

The perfect way to end the show and Lance Storm's career. He was always going to get the fall here and I am glad that he did. Christian got a bit of solid offence in on Benoit towards the latter stages of the match.

Overall a good show once again :) I apologize if this review was kinda lacklustre, but I'll still be reading and definately looking forward to the next show :)

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you liked the show and Raw next week will be a lot of fun. Most of the shows now leading up to my next ppv will be a lot promo heavy building up the ppv and future feuds. I wanted to give Storm a nice send off so it was nice to have him in the main event. My original plan was to do Storm vs Benoit but i didn't want Storm to lose so i went with an all Canadian match to give Storm a win. So it worked out well in the end. I decided not to feature Rock on every Raw show, this is why i went with the suspension angle. He will be there for skits with Eugene which will be fun. When he returns he will be featured on and off and will be involved in some major angles.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

WWE Smackdown
April 22, 2004

Smackdown opens with Paul Heyman backstage with his assistant Dawn Marie. Paul is in a great mood tonight. He finally got rid of the Big Show. Heyman states that tonight’s main event will be Edge vs Kane. He also set up a tag team match between John Cena and Rey Mysterio vs Val Venis and Matt Hardy. Dawn calls Paul a genius and Paul thanks her. Heyman says now that Big Show has gone, his worries are now over and now he can sit back, relax and enjoy Smackdown. The Smackdown video package airs as Tazz and Michael Cole welcome us to the show.

Match 1
Tag Team Title Match
The Hurricane and Shannon Moore (c) vs Chavo Guerrero Jr and Chavo Sr

Following their tag title victory last week, Hurricane and Shannon Moore were challenged to a match by The Guerreros for this week’s Smackdown show. This was quick and more of a comedy match. Chavo Jr starts with Shannon Moore. They lock up and Chavo Jr kicks Moore to the gut and takes him down with a hiptoss. He follows up with a dropkick and sends Moore to the ropes and Moore counters with a dropkick. Chavo Sr gets in and gets dropkicked by Moore. Hurricane gets in and Helms and Moore get a double dropkick on Chavo Jr. The ref orders Hurricane and Chavo Sr to get back in their corners. Moore tags in Hurricane. Chavo Jr tags his father in. Hurricane whips Chavo Sr to the corner and misses a charge as Chavo Sr stomps away at Hurricane. He distracts the ref as Chavo Jr ends up kicking Hurricane in the corner. Chavo Sr gets a suplex and tags in his son. Chavo Jr gets a backdrop and gets a near fall. Chavo goes for a sunset flip but Helms rolls out and hits the shining wizard. He makes the tag to Shannon Moore, Chavo tags in his dad as Shannon Moore gets a crossbody on Chavo Sr. Chavo Jr runs in and gets dropkicked by Moore to the floor. Helms gets a slingshot dive on Chavo Jr to the floor. Moore goes to the top and gets a flying crossbody on Chavo Sr and pinned him for the 3 count to retain the titles. After the match Chavo Jr throws a tantrum in the ring and his dad calms him down.

Winners: The Hurricane and Shannon Moore

In the back Kane is fuming backstage as he seems to be looking for something and it's not there.

Paul Heyman is very pleased with Matt Hardy and Johnny Nitro for what they did last week. They helped Val get rid of Big Show. Matt Hardy complains about Edge, last week Edge tried to attack him with a chair and fortunately it was Rey Mysterio who’s his opponent for tonight stopped Edge from hitting Matt with a chair. He asked Heyman what is he going to do about this. Heyman states that since Edge ruined the main event last week. If Edge thinks he will be added to the WWE title match, there is no chance of that happening. Infact Edge has damaged his chances even more now to get that title shot. He’s not just going to hand him a title shot just like that, he’s going to have to earn it but that won’t be happening for a while now. Tonight Kane will deal with Edge. Suddenly Rhyno shows up and he wants Hardy and Nitro. He wants to know why Hardy and Nitro attacked him last week. Matt told Rhyno that he let them down but the one he let down the most was Paul Heyman. Heyman sets up Rhyno vs Johnny Nitro and that is next. Rhyno wants Matt Hardy in a match at Judgment Day and Matt accepts the challenge. Heyman then rips into Rhyno and gives the reason why Matt and Nitro attacked him. Rhyno used to be a beast but he simply is not a beast anymore. Brock Lesnar used to be a beast but he became a coward and walked out. Rhyno has disgraced the legacy of ECW, it was because of Rhyno he had to have his mouth washed out with soap by John Cena. Now Val Venis will be taking care of Cena when he wins the US Title, just like he did when he beat Big Show. Something Rhyno couldn’t do. He’s now done with Rhyno and he slaps Rhyno and Rhyno loses it and grabs Heyman by the throat. Rhyno gets attacked by Hardy and Nitro. Heyman mocks Rhyno by yelling in his face GORE, GORE, GORE.

Eddie Guerrero meets Rey in the locker room. Rey apologises to Eddie for what Edge did last week. He shouldn’t have got involved in the match but he knows Eddie well, he believes in Eddie. Eddie was the underdog when he beat Brock Lesnar to win the belt and now he has his biggest challenge. He’s pretty sure Eddie will find a way to win. Eddie thanks Rey for the encouraging words, he's mad at Kane for what he did last week to his car and now he's also not pleased with Edge's actions last week. He wants to show Rey something. Eddie has Kane's old mask. Eddie said after what Kane did last week, he got into Kane's locker room and took his old mask, one of his prized possessions. Kane made him mad last week and now Kane will be mad when he finds out that he has his mask. He knows what sort of mindgames Taker and Kane are capable of, they like to get inside the head of their opponents and like to strike fear in them. Well he's also a master of playing mindgames and he doesn't fear them at all. Eddie wishes Rey luck. Eddie leaves and Edge shows up in the locker room. He wants to know who’s side Rey is on because this is the second time he’s interfered in his business. First when he took out Kurt Angle and last week when he was going to hit the chair on Matt Hardy, Rey stopped him from doing it. He wants to know why Rey did that? Why is he saving guys who he has a grudge with. Rey lets Edge know that he is not saving other guys, he is saving Edge from suspension, he is saving Edge from becoming a marked man, he is saving him from injury. Edge just returned from injury and if he’s going to become a crazed lunatic and go after guys then they will target him and they could injure him. He feels that Edge has change a lot, his attitude has changed, he’s become bitter and wants others to feel his pain. That simply isn’t fair because this is not the Edge he used to know. This is not the Edge who he won the tag title with, this is not the Edge that visited him in hospital when he was out with a knee injury. This is not the Edge who he visited the most, more than anyone when he was out for a year.

Rey wanted to know why Edge interfered in the main event last week. He had no business being out there. Now because of Edge, Eddie who’s also another friend of his is put into a tough situation. Now facing Taker or Kane in a one on one match is bad enough but facing both of them, thanks to Edge now Eddie’s title is in major jeapordy. Now because of all this, Edge has now put himself on the bad side of Taker and Kane. Edge has just come back and he’s going to make enemies if he continues assaulting other stars. Edge fires back and states that anyone who comes in his path of his success then he will run them down. He’s hungry for success, since returning he’s not ashamed of his recent actions. Rey thinks Edge has become selfish. Rey points out that he was eliminated in the battle royal but he didn’t hold a grudge against anyone by interfering in the main event. He too has a dream of wrestling for the WWE Title but he will some day get his chance but he has to earn it and he will. Rey hoped that Edge will also get that chance but after last week he harmed his chances of receiving a title shot. After interfering in the main event, what did it get him, nothing because Paul Heyman did not give him a free pass into the main event of Judgment Day. His actions have now resulted in a match later on tonight against the monster Kane. He wished Edge luck and hoped that Edge changes his ways. Edge states that he can’t change because now you will see a different Edge, a more ruthless Edge, he’s been sitting on the sidelines for more a year and seen guys climb the ladder of success. He was Smackdown’s fastest rising star last year and if he wasn’t injured, he would have been champion by now. What he missed out on, he will soon get, and he will soon be challenging for the title and tonight he will defeat Kane.

Match 2
Rhyno vs Johnny Nitro

This was very quick. Nitro gets a knee to the stomach and a shot to the head. He comes off the ropes with a forearm but Rhyno blocks and slams Nitro. Rhyno pounds away on Nitro and whips Nitro into the ropes and gets a flapjack for a near fall. Rhyno scores with a running powerslam. Nitro comes back and tries to go for an insiguri but Rhyno ducks. Rhyno goes in the corner and charges away at Nitro and hits the gore for the three count. Rhyno makes quick work of Nitro. Rhyno takes a mic. He states that Heyman and his group made a big mistake by putting their hands on him and beating Nitro now was just a start. Now Rhyno will show Paul Heyman what he’s all about.

Winner: Rhyno

Backstage Josh Matthews interviews RVD. Josh asks where Booker T is and RVD has no idea where Booker is. RVD is upset that they lost the tag belts but tonight they have the opportunity to get back in the tag title hunt as they face Kidman and London in a #1 contenders match. An official informs RVD that something has happened to Booker and he’s being attended to in the training room. RVD rushes to the trainers room.

A promo is aired for Judgment Day

In the trainer’s room, Booker T has a knee injury and Paul Heyman and Dawn Marie come in. Booker demands the match to be cancelled as the doctor says Booker can’t compete tonight. Dawn asks Booker if she can help, does he need a massage? Booker said he would love to. Paul Heyman told Booker that he's not getting no massage from Dawn. RVD sticks up for Booker and wants Heyman to cancel the match until Booker gets healed. Heyman said he can’t do that because Kidman and London also want that shot at the belts. They were so close to capturing the belts last week and they don't want to wait any longer. They want a shot at the belts as much as RVD and Booker. The reason why RVD and Booker aren’t automatically getting their rematch for the belts is because they were pinned by Kidman and London who went on to lose at the end to Hurricane and Shannon Moore. RVD and Booker T have three option. Either they forfeit the match and Kidman and London become #1 contenders. The second option is that RVD goes and finds a partner to represent Booker for just tonight. The final option is that RVD goes out there all by himself and competes in a handicap match. Choice is yours RVD. Booker thinks what Heyman is doing is completely unfair but he wishes RVD luck. Heyman leaves. RVD is sitting in the room thinking about what to do. Booker tells him not to worry, he's sure a lot of guys would love to team with RVD. The trainer helps Booker up but Booker wants Dawn to help him up. She helps Booker T up and Booker T hobbles out on crutches. Once out of view Booker T smiles wildly with Dawn Marie as Booker is sticking his tongue out. What is this all about?

In ring Segment with Kane and Eddie Guerrero
Kane’s music hits and he comes down and grabs a mic. He’s very angry. Ever since losing to The Undertaker at WrestleMania he’s become weak and blames Undertaker for brainwashing his father Paul Bearer. Kane complained about being the ruthless monster anymore, and vowed to return to evil ways. He wanted nothing to do with the Undertaker but they ended up on the same team in the lethal lottery tournament. However he wanted a shot at the WWE Title and for one night only he put his differences aside and progressed further in the tournament. Then in the battle royal they both co-win the battle royal so they would end up facing each other the following week. Last week he had to step in the ring with his brother again for the opportunity for the WWE Title shot but Edge stuck his nose in their business. Kane starts shouting that because of last week’s result, he has to face his brother again now at Judgment Day but in a triple threat match. Kane states that he will make Edge pay for what he did last week. It’s been 6 long years since Kane was last WWE Champion and now the Undertaker is still continuing to be a thorn in his side. Taker stands in his path. Kane buried him alive at Survivor Series, only for The Undertaker to rise again at WrestleMania. What’s been bothering him so much is that Taker has his powers back and he’s taken his father away from him. Now all the creatures of the night and all the lost souls answer to The Undertaker and that makes him angry. They were monsters who lived to strike fear into the hearts of normal men, now that Undertaker has come back he thinks he is superior than him. Kane states that he is superior than The Undertaker and all of these fans. Ever since he buried Taker alive, he was creating havoc in the WWE but ever since Taker returned, Kane’s world has been shattered and burned. He’s been living in darkness and shadows. It is killing him inside that his father is not by his side and the Undertaker has trapped him in a spell. He may have lost to the Undertaker at WrestleMania but he is still a monster and he shows no compassion. Kane demands Paul Bearer to come back to him. He wants his father to guide him to the top again by making him the WWE Champion for a second time. He starts screaming and shouting and goes outside the ring and shouts at fans and tells them that he is still a monster. He is angry and when he gets angry, bad things happen and promises to get revenge on The Undertaker.

Kane gets back in and then starts talking about the WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero. He sent a message to Eddie last week by damaging his car but now Eddie has something that belongs to him and not Eddie. He stole his mask and he wants his mask back right now. Although he doesn't wear the mask anymore, it was his true identity. He will not put it back on anymore but he always keeps it on him so it reminds him of his past. What he went through, by looking at his mask he wants normal people to suffer the same pain as he did. When someone makes him angry, he then makes them suffer. He wants Eddie to come out right now and give his mask back. He calls out Eddie Guerrero to the ring and Eddie’s music hits as the WWE Champion makes his way down to the ring. Eddie doesn’t come out in a low rider, he’s walking down to the ring with a bag in his hand. A mic is handed to Eddie and fans start an Eddie chant. Kane seems disgusted and tells Eddie that he envys him. Eddie lives a normal life and fans chant his name, they chant Eddie, Eddie, Eddie. Fans start a Eddie chant again. Kane continues on and said that he is living in a nightmare and Eddie needs to feel his pain. Since coming to Smackdown, he never had that opportunity for the WWE Title but now he’s finally got it and he’s going to become champion again. Ever since he took his mask off, he's become more dangerous but it makes him angry that he hasn't won the WWE Title for a long time. Eddie’s been living his dream by becoming champion but Kane will become his worst nightmare. Eddie states that he was expecting one opponent but he was never expecting to face two. When Undertaker and Kane won the battle royal, he knew it would be a tough task against one of them but last week Edge came out and ruined the match. This resulted in Paul Heyman giving him not one opponent but two monsters. So now the speculation begins that Eddie Guerrero’s reign will come to an end. A month ago on Smackdown after WrestleMania, he was teaming up with The Undertaker for the first time to take on Kane and The Big Show. Now he has to take on The Undertaker and Kane. He’s never faced Kane or Undertaker in a one on one match before. He’s not intimidated by Kane or The Undertaker and the only thing he has going for him is that every obstacle that’s been put infront of him, he’s overcome. He beat the dominant Brock Lesnar to become champion, when nobody thought he had a chance at all but he did it. He beat multi time champion Kurt Angle when people thought he was not fit to be representing Smackdown as champion but he proved everyone wrong. He proved that he can beat a giant when he beat Big Show a few weeks ago. If he can beat a 7ft tall Big Show then he’s pretty confident he can beat The Undertaker and Kane.

He’s lied, cheated and stolen his way to victories many times, and he will take advantage of Undertaker and Kane’s rivalry by holding on to his title. He’s worked hard to get to the top and now that he’s here he’s not gonna let it go. He may not be 7ft tall, 300 pounds, but he’s got what it takes to beat two monsters at Judgment Day. People thought he couldn’t overcome his personal demons but he did and he can certainly beat two demons like Kane and The Undertaker. All the fire that burns within him, he will unleash it on Kane and The Undertaker. Kane smirks and said Eddie doesn’t know what it feels like to be put through fire because he’s been through it. He is going to show no compassion on Eddie because he is going to take Eddie’s title and there is nothing that can stop him. He demands his mask back. Eddie then starts to get funny again and said you want your mask, here we go. He pulls out Kane's mask and threatens to throw it. Kane warns him and Eddie said you damaged my lowrider man and for that you also deserve to have your prized possession being taken away from you. Eddie asked the fans should he auction it or should he throw it in the crowd. There was more response for throwing the mask in the crowd. Kane warned Eddie not to do it and Eddie threw the mask as far as he could in the crowd. Kane gets out the ring and goes in the crowd to find it but he can't He's shouting loudly and Eddie is in the ring rolling on the mat laughing at what he just did. Kane gets back in and goes ballistic. Eddie jumps at Kane and starts brawling with him. Kane reverses a whip and gets a big boot on Eddie. He grabs Eddie by the throat and chokeslams him. Kane yells he will make Eddie pay for this.

Backstage Val Venis talked about how Lance Storm’s career ended this week and how his own career has now taken off again on Smackdown. He wanted to make a statement and he did. Cena shows up and Val explains his points why he feels he's better than Cena. He’s already made an impact on Smackdown by taking out the Big Show and now we will never see him again. What Cena couldn’t do in months, he did in one match. He states that he is a better wrestler than Cena and he’s going to take the US Title off Cena at Judgment Day. He claims that when he wins the title at Judgment Day, he will personally make sure that he just doesn't beat Cena, that he will embarrass Cena. Then he will restore some pride back into this title. He will go on to become the greatest United States Champion of all time. Cena hasn't paid his dues but yet is a champion and that makes him sick, and that he is going to beat some respect into Cena. Up next he's going to beat Cena. Cena fires back and said Val took out Big Show with the help of three guys. Cena says he beat Show by himself, and he beat Show to become US Champion. On the Smackdown show after Judgment Day he’s going to come out and Val will see Cena say “the champ is here.” Cena’s music hit’s as he walks off for his match.

Match 3
Rey Mysterio and John Cena vs Matt Hardy and Val Venis

Cena cut a rap promo on Val Venis and Matt Hardy. Rey comes out next. Val and Hardy come out and the bell rings as the match begins. Mysterio starts it off with Hardy. Rey gets a takedown on Matt, Matt gets up to his feet and breaks out and whips Rey to the ropes and hits a right hand on Rey. Matt gets a neckbreaker and goes for a charge and Rey gets his feet up and hits Matt in the face. Rey teases a 619 but Matt gets out the ring and grabs Rey’s leg and pulls him out. Matt stomps away at Rey and sends him back in and tags Val. Val gets a gutwretch suplex for a near fall. Val and Hardy make quick tags and Mysterio takes a pretty good beating throughout the match. Finally Mysterio makes a hot tag to Cena who is on fire. Cena knocks Val and Hardy down with a clothesline. Cena hits the throwback and then hits the five knuckle shuffle first drop on Hardy. Rey is tagged back in and scores with a hurracaranrana. The match continues going back and forth. Johnny Nitro comes down and Cena gets tossed outside the ring. Val and Hardy distract the ref as Nitro starts stomping on Cena outside. Back in finally Cena makes the hot tag to Mysterio and he takes Val down with a hurracanrana. Rey dropkicks Matt into the ropes and sets up for the 619. Rey hits the 619 followed by the west coast pop. Johnny Nitro distracts the referee. Val knocks Cena down on the apron and goes after him outside the ring. Hardy sets Rey up for the twist of fate but Edge runs down and goes for a spear but accidently spears Rey. Edge is stunned and Hardy clotheslines Edge to the floor. Hardy pins Mysterio for the three count to win the match for his team. Val, Hardy and Nitro celebrate. Cena is down on the floor but in the ring Edge helps Rey back up and Rey is angry with Edge for interfering. They argue for a bit but Cena is back in the ring and seperates both men from arguing. Edge walks off.

Winners: Matt Hardy and Val Venis

A new vignette is aired of the same mysterious man shown last week. This time he is talking about the day of reckoning. The vignette ends with the mysterious man laughing.

In the back, Kyo Dai are standing by with Josh Matthews. Funaki told Josh he is still the # 1 announcer for Smackdown but recently he’s been involved in more matches on Smackdown so now Josh is taking over announcing duties. Funaki states that JBL got half of his money back from them but he couldn’t take away Tajiri’s title. Funaki called JBL a big bully after what he did to them last week. They’ve enjoyed spending most of the money and now JBL can’t do anything about it as he was disqualified last week. Funaki also mentioned that they may not have won the tag belts last week but they still have the cruiserweight belt in their group and would help Tajiri hold on to it. Tajiri states that now that he’s still cruiserweight champion he wants to become the greatest cruiserweight champion of all time.

Match 4
JBL vs Rikishi

JBL comes out and states that he’s a man of his word so Tajiri keeps his money but it shows the class differerence between him and people like Kyo Dai. They get it the easy way and millionaires like JBL have to earn things the hard way. JBL felt he deserves an award for his noble act of not getting his money back now that Kyo Dai are keeping the money. After what he did to them last week, they won't get involved in his business again. If they do then he will teach them a lesson they will never forget. JBL says if the referee didn't reverse his decision last week then he would have sold the cruiserweight title and got his money back. He says by getting rid of the cruiserweight title he would have done a good deed because most of the cruiserweights we have on Smackdown are foreigners. By selling the cruiserweight title, the cruiserweights would have nothing to fight for and he would have loved to see that. Unfortunately that didn't happen but JBL did teach Kyo Dai a major lesson last week. He enjoys beating up foreign people. This gets him major heat.

JBL then runs down the Canadian fans and talked about the poor hospitality he had in this country. He gloats about The USA being better than Canada. He would have asked a Canadian fan to come in and shine his boots for $500 but he's decided not to do that incase the fan turns out to be like Kyo Dai and steals his money. JBL gets big heat for this. He then talks about Rikishi how he tried to interfere in his matters and promised to teach him a lesson he will never forget. Rikishi’s music hits as he makes his way down to the ring.

JBL and Rikishi lock up as they exchange rights and Rikishi gets a big right hand on JBL and kicks him over the top rope to the floor. JBL gets frustrated and Rikishi gets the early advantage in the match. He chops away at JBL and whips JBL into the corner but JBL gets his foot in the way and gets Rikishi in the face. JBL kicks Rikishi in the mid section and makes a comeback and starts kicking away at Rikishi in the corner. JBL charges at Rikishi but Rikishi tosses Bradshaw over the top rope to the floor. The action spilled outside the ring. Rikishi kicks Bradshaw in the face and attemps a whip into the post and it is reversed as Rikishi goes into the post. JBL rams Rikishi’s shoulder on the post and they get back in on time. JBL works on Rikishi’s shoulder and is ready to hit the clothesline from hell but Rikishi counters with a samoan drop. Rikishi drags Rikishi to the corner and goes for the stinkface. He backs his ass up in JBL’s face and gives him the stinkface. Rikishi hits for the banzai drop and JBL moves out the way. JBL puts Rikishi’s arm on the ropes and jumps on it. Rikishi stumbles up to his feet as JBL hits a clothesline from hell. He pinned Rikishi for the 3 count. JBL rolled out the ring and repeatedly hit Rikishi on the arm with a chair. The ref started counting and JBL stops. He doesn’t want the ref to reverse the decision again, just like what happened to JBL last week. JBL was just mad because Rikishi gave him the stinkface. JBL celebrates and leaves. Scotty 2 Hotty comes down with some officials and Rikishi is being helped to the back. Rikishi has hurt his shoulder.

Winner: JBL

In the back, Rikishi is being helped by Scotty 2 Hotty and officials. Suddenly Edge levels Scotty across the back with a chair and then assaults Rikishi. He threatens officials to move out the way otherwise he will nail them with a chair. Edge gives Rikishi a conchairto and drops the chair and leaves.

Tazz and Cole mention that Rikishi has hurt his shoulder and we don’t know how long he will be out of action for. They don't understand why Edge just assaulted Rikishi but we will hear an explanation from him later on.

In the back Spike Dudley meets RVD and offers to be RVD’s partner and the match is next.

Match 5
RVD and Spike Dudley vs Kidman and London

Winners get a tag title shot at Judgment Day. Spike is taking Booker T's place in this match. RVD and Spike work well as a team as they gain control in the early going by making quick tags. Kidman and London make a comeback by using double teaming tactics on Spike. The ref notices this and sends London back to his corner. Kidman gets a hiptoss on Spike and follows up with a dropkick. He whips Spike into the ropes and Spike counters with a backdrop. He makes the tag to RVD who comes in and nails Kidman with a spinning heel kick. RVD follows up with the rolling thunder and goes for a cover and London breaks it up. The match goes back and forth as Kidman and London are back in control as London turns Spike upside down in the corner as he hammers away at Spike with kicks to the neck and back and then dropkicks him and Spike falls down. He follows up with a kick and gets a near fall. Booker T comes out on crutches to watch this match from the ramp. London tags in Kidman and Kidman takes Spike down with a facebuster. London and Kidman again start double teaming. Kidman goes to the top rope and is about to hit the shooting star press but Booker T gets on the apron and hits Kidman with the crutch. The referee calls for the bell and disqualifies RVD and Spike and awards this match to Kidman and London. RVD is standing there looking confused.

Winners: Paul London and Billy Kidman

Kidman and London decide not to go back after Booker, they’ve won the match and are the new #1 contenders. They end up celebrating on the ramp. Spike Dudley gets in Booker’s face and wants to know why Booker did that. Booker gets his crutch and smashes it across Spike’s skull. RVD goes to check on Spike and Booker is standing there laughing. Spike is helped by officials to the back. RVD gets a mic and tells Booker so this is what Booker wants. Booker was playing all along as he was faking an injury so that they don’t get that chance to win the belts again. He wants to hear an explanation from Booker, why did he do this? Booker requests a mic. He tells RVD he’s been telling him for weeks that RVD is the one who’s been making major mistakes. He is sick and tired of carrying him. He blames RVD for holding him back. RVD responds back and simply thinks that Booker is jealous because he progressed further than Booker in the lethal lottery tournament. Then the following week, Booker got involved and eliminated him. Booker owns up and said yes it was an accident, he wanted RVD out. Booker says that he’s never been WWE Champion and now on Smackdown he has that opportunity but if he’s going to continue to team with RVD, he’s not gonna get that opportunity. He wants to do his own thing, he’s the biggest star on Smackdown. Take a look at his achievements, he was the most decorated star in WCW history. Since coming to Smackdown, RVD’s the one who’s made the mistakes, but this isn’t going to continue further now because he’s done with him. Booker kicks RVD to the gut and hits the Book-end. Rvd stumbles up and Booker hits the axe kick. Booker picks the mic up and says Good Friends, Bitter Enemies, now can you dig that suckaaa. Booker does the spinaroonie and leaves and laughs up the ramp.

Josh Matthews gets a few words with Booker T in the back. Booker T is laughing. He pulled one over RVD, he fooled everyone. Booker says after they lost the belts last week, he called Paul Heyman up and told him he wants nothing to do with RVD anymore. So he came up with this idea, he wanted to lead RVD on and made RVD look like a complete fool. He was sick and tired of carrying RVD. Booker states that now his priority is to become the WWE Champion but first he wants to get RVD back for pinning him a few weeks ago. Booker says he's better than RVD, he can beat him and will prove he was right that he was the better wrestler in the team. Booker T issued a challenge to RVD for Judgment Day and after what Booker just did, he is certain that RVD will accept his challenge.

In the back Edge explains why he attacked Rikishi. He saw an opportunity and decided to make use of it. Rikishi was hurt so he took advantage of it. The reason why he attacked Rikishi was because many years ago he ran down Stone Cold and put him out of action for a year. Edge was also out of action for a year, and he believed that Rikishi could do this again. He believed that Kurt Angle could get revenge on him by turning to Rikishi to go back to his old ways and run Edge down. This is why he got rid of the problem and made sure Rikishi will never be seen again in the WWE. Edge is confonted by Rey Mysterio who's angry at Edge for costing him the match earlier on. Edge claimed it was an accident. Rey told Edge he shouldn't have got involved in his match but what wasn't an accident is what Edge just did to Rikishi. Rey points out that Rikishi had completely changed and the fans have forgiven him. The fans love him again. He thinks Edge has completely lost it and now doesn't trust Edge anymore. Edge has become so bitter, he just attacked an innocent guy.

Edge told Rey he doesn't give a damn what Rey thinks, every time he attacks someone Rey gets involved in his business. From now on, he does what he wants on his own terms. He will do whatever it takes to get ahead. From now on there is nothing Rey can do about it. Paul Heyman shows up and berates Edge for what he just did to Rikishi. He lets Edge and Mysterio know that next week they will be teaming up together. Next week Rey will be facing his friend Eddie Guerrero as the team of Edge and Rey will face the team of The Undertaker and Eddie Guerrero. Heyman thinks this is a great idea to have Eddie teaming up with one of his opponents at Judgment Day and Mysterio did not like the idea of facing his friend. Edge did not like the idea of teaming with Rey again and also facing Taker. Heyman told Edge and Rey that they have been having a lot of problems recently but next week they just have to put their differences aside because this is the first time they will be teaming in a long time as a tag team. They are former tag team champions, maybe if they win next week their problems will be over and then they can start to trust each other again. Last week they were together but that was a 6 man tag but next week, they will have an even bigger task when they meet Eddie Guerrero and The Undertaker. Heyman then sarcastically wishes Edge luck on his match against Kane which is next.

Main Event
Edge vs Kane

Edge in his first singles match since returning from injury. Edge gets booed by his own Canadian fans, they aren't too pleased with Edge's actions for what he did to Rikishi earlier on. The match begins as Kane knocks Edge down with a right hand. Edge comes back with some right hands of his own. He goes to the ropes and gets a flying body press to take Kane down. Edge starts pounding away on Kane in the corner but he gets choked down by Kane. Kane gets a backdrop on Edge. Kane then attempts to ram Edge’s head into the buckle but Edge puts the breaks on and rams Kane’s head into the buckle and rolls Kane up for a near fall. Edge hits a clothesline and whips Kane to the corner and goes for a charge but Kane boots Edge in the face. Kane beats on Edge out of the ring and then back in again He boots Edge in the face.

Kane gets a sidewalk slam and follows up with a big elbow but Edge moves out the way. Edge goes to the top and hits a clothesline and gets a near fall. Edge connects with a Russian legsweep and then hits the Edge-O-Matic and Kane kicks out at two. Edge tries to cheat to beat Kane by putting his feet on the ropes but the referee sees it and gets Edge's foot off the ropes. Kane reverses a whip and takes Edge down with a clothesline. He hammers away at Edge into the corner. Kane hits a suplex and Edge kicks out at two. Kane goes for a chokeslam but Edge slips out and kicks Kane to the gut and hits the edgecution but Kane no sells and sits up. Edge can’t believe it and starts nailing Kane with some forearms. He whips Kane to the ropes but Kane reverses and scores with a big ddt and gets a near fall. Edge comes back again and backdrops Kane to the floor. Edge starts arguing with the referee but sees Eddie Guerrero coming down. Edge distracts the ref as Eddie runs down and levels Kane with the WWE Title belt and it’s payback for what Kane did earlier on to Eddie. He rolls Kane back in and leaves. Edge is setting up for the spear as Kane stumbles back up and Edge hits the spear. He goes for the cover and gets the 3 count to win the match. Edge celebrates and now the fans give him a mixed reaction.

Winner: Edge

The celebration is cut short as the lights go out as The Undertaker’s music hits, causing Edge to bolt from the ring and escapes through the crowd. Next week for Edge there is nowhere to hide as he will be in tag team action as he teams with Rey Mysterio to face The Undertaker and Eddie Guerrero. The lights are back on and we see Undertaker and Kane fighting each other. Kane ends up hitting a ddt on Taker. Kane looks at Paul Bearer and pleads with his father to come back to him as Paul just stares at him. Taker sits up and Kane turns around and walks into a chokeslam. Kane rolls out the ring and backs up the ramp and stares at Taker. Kane starts yelling Taker will pay for this. Taker kneels down on one knee and Paul Bearer raises the urn in the air as Smackdown comes to a close.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Smackdown Review

The Hurricane & Shannon Moore beating Chavo Sr. and Chavo Jr., I must say I found that match somewhat entertaining especially since Chavo Sr. and Chavo Jr. are a father-son tag team and we don't see much of those lately. But the finish of the match I must say I am pretty happy with, Moore and Hurricane deserved the victory

The Paul Heyman backstage segment with Matt Hardy, I must say I love that too because it in a way sets up Matt Hardy to be a future main event player here on Smackdown especially with him stepping up to challenge Edge next week and for Rhyno to get in Heyman's face like that, Rhyno does have guts. But what Heyman said about Rhyno was right, he is disgracing the legacy of ECW, and he slapped Rhyno. Then Rhyno grabs Heyman and is about to attack him until Matt Hardy and Johnny Nitro attack Rhyno from behind, that I loved a whole lot.

Rhyno beating Nitro does set him up to become a future #1 Contender for the U.S. Title somewhere down the road

The Rey-Edge segment made me think that something is going to happen and that Edge will turn on Rey soon because Edge doesn't need Rey Mysterio or Eddie or anyone because everybody has held him back from being WWE Champion and now that he is back, nothing will stop Edge.

The Booker T backstage segment with Paul Heyman and Dawn Marie, my favorite part of the show by far because I smell a rat as far as him & RVD are concerned. A heel turn for Booker T, I will support that because Booker T doesn't need RVD

Kane & Eddie segment I loved it because after the segment it proves to me that Kane could become WWE Champion after Judgment Day, and that Eddie has no chance especially against Kane and or Taker. Kane begging his father Paul Bearer to come back to him, that made me think that sooner or later Bearer is going to turn on Taker and side with his son Kane.

Val Venis segment with him taking pot shots at Lance Storm saying how his career is over and how he took out Big Show, and how he is going to beat Cena for that US Title, I sure hope Val beats him for the title. Val Venis as the next United States Champion looks good to me but I can easily see Cena beating Venis

JBL beating Rikishi, I must say that it was awesome, and that JBL he deserves to be a champion and it is only a matter of time before he becomes a champion on Smackdown

London & Kidman beating RVD & Spike Dudley, awesome tag team match especially when Booker came and he hit Spike with the crutch, and then after he turned on RVD by attacking him and saying Good Friends Bitter Enemies now can you dig that sucka, and then the spinaroonie to cap it all off, just shows me that Booker T doesn't need RVD anymore and that he will become WWE Champion at some point.

Edge beating Kane in the main event, that made me happy and what made me even more happy was seeing Taker come. The lights go out and Edge bolts as soon as Taker's music goes off. Then Kane & Taker are attacking each other until Taker chokeslams Kane to end the show and Kane swearing vengeance made me happy especially with Bearer just standing there when Kane was begging him to turn on Taker also made me think that Bearer will turn on Taker someday.

Overall great Smackdown show and I can't wait until RAW to see what you have in store for us!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Thanks for the review. A lot of promos/backstage segments were used to help build the show for the Judgment Day ppv. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Raw will be up tomorrow.

WWE News and Notes

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of WWE SmackDown Superstar Rikishi. We wish Rikishi the best in all future endeavors.

In real life during this time period, Rikishi wrestled his last match and then got injured. After this he never competed in a match for the WWE. He ended up being fired in July. So there is no point in me using him now, so Rikishi has been released. This is why i went with the injury angle and had JBL go over Rikishi. Then the backstage attack on Rikishi by Edge was to write Rikishi off and also builds up the slow and gradual heel turn for Edge.

Maven will be back in action in 2 weeks.

Plans are for Dawn Marie to manage Paul London and Billy Kidman, Torrie Wilson is going to be managing The Hurricane and Shannon Moore. As London and Kidman are heels, Dawn would be a good manager for them. Currently the plan is to go with a ladder match between the two teams for the tag team titles at Judgment Day.

Expect a big major surprise on Smackdown next week.

La Resistance will be using the Demolition style rule of three members during matches where they are involved in challenging for the tag team titles. It will always be different combinations. For example on Raw it could be Grenier and Dupree one week, the following week Conway and Dupree and so on. There are no plans in breaking the team up so do not expect the trio to have problems. However one of the members could end up getting drafted to Smackdown when the draft takes place.

The reason for turning the World’s Greatest tag team into faces is because i have more heels than faces. Plus Haas and Benjamin will soon start to compete in a lot of singles matches but will still remain a tag team.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

WWE Raw
April 26, 2004

The announcers welcome us to the show. Chris Benoit’s music hits as the world heavyweight champion makes his way down to the ring. Benoit is handed a mic. Benoit lets everyone know that since WrestleMania, he’s been having matches after matches and competition is getting stronger and stronger. He’s got too many contenders after his world heavyweight title but he doesn’t mind who he faces, bring them on because he will remain the world heavyweight champion. Benoit thinks HHH can play any type of game, but the result will be that HHH will tap again and again and again. HHH is sending Batista out tonight to face him in a non title match, well he’s beaten Batista before three weeks before he went on to become champion. Tonight he will beat make Batista tap out again and he hoped that HHH lost again so he would have to wait for his opportunity even longer. Benoit hoped that Shawn Michaels or Chris Jericho wins the # 1 contenders match. Christian’s music hits as he interrupts the world champion. Christian makes his way down to ringside with A-Train and Trish.

Christian feels disrespected because Benoit did not mention his name. He wants to know why Benoit doesn’t want to face Christian. Either he thinks Christian doesn’t stand a chance or he’s scared of him. Christian says since WrestleMania, he’s been on the rise. It’s about time he gets what he wants. He’s got the most beautiful woman in the world and now all he needs is the world title. Michaels, Jericho and HHH have all had many opportunities in the past, they’ve been champions but now it’s all going to change. Benoit’s team got lucky last week but Benoit did not pin or make Christian tap out. Benoit fires back and cuts an intense promo and tells Christian to stop whining and earn his way to a victory. He’s been doing the talking but he needs to get the job done in the ring tonight to prove he’s worthy of taking the title off him next week. Benoit was called a one hit wonder and he proved people wrong and he’s still the champion. If Christian wants to prove he deserves the shot then he’s gotta go past 3 former champions tonight. He needs to prove that he can get it done by himself without the help of Trish and A-Train. Christian says since Batista is going to soften him up later on, it won’t be for HHH, it will be for him. A-Train and Christian attack Benoit. A-Train hits the derailer and then Christian hits the unprettier on Benoit. Christian motions for the world title and has a big smirk on his face. Benoit has a match later on against Batista. What kind of condition will he be in?

Backstage Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas are having a conversation with the Dudleys. Since La Resistance have three members in their group, The Dudleys know La Resistance will be up to something. Chuck Palumbo and Johnny the Bull now feel they deserve to be in the title picture but they’ve recently just been traded to Raw and now they’re trying to jump the line ahead of the Dudleys. The Dudleys assured the champs that they have their backs. Haas and Benjamin thanked the Dudleys, they may not be friends but it’s good to see them putting their differences aside. La Resistance, Chuck Palumbo and Johnny the Bull had no business interfering in their match last week and they will get back at them. The Dudleys praised the tag team champions because no team have beaten them fairly in quick time and at Backlash, Haas and Benjamin proved to be the better team. They have earned their respect. However when the Dudleys get another opportunity at the tag titles, no matter who the champions are, they will beat them for the titles. Benjamin responds and says we will see about that. Both teams shake hands.

Match 1
Womens Title Match
Victoria (c) vs Jazz
Jazz gets another opportunity at the belt, she came up short at Backlash but now she has another chance. This was a longer match than they had on Sunday Night Heat at Backlash. Jazz and Victoria lock up and Jazz gets a waist lock take down on Victoria, Victoria fights back with a right hand and takes Jazz down with a clothesline. Jazz reverses a whip and takes Victoria down with a knee lift. Jazz gets a camel clutch on Victoria but Victoria manages to power out of it and knocks Jazz down with a spinning heel kick. Victoria starts kicking away at Jazz in the corner. Victoria sends Jazz to the ropes and Jazz counters with a clothesline. Jazz applies a half Boston Crab, Victoria tries to hang in there and she makes it to the bottom rope. Jazz whips Victoria to the corner and starts kicking away at Victoria. Jazz is in control and gets a suplex. She goes for the Jazz stretch and slams Victoria down to the mat. Jazz scores with a fisherman buster and gets a near fall. Victoria comes back and delivers a powerslam. Victoria goes to the top and gets a crossbody and Jazz counters with a roll up for a near fall. Jazz throws Victoria to the ropes but Victoria reverses and Teddy Long who’s not paying attention accidently trips up Jazz by mistake. Victoria hits the widows peak and gets the 3 count to win the match. Good womens match between the divas. Following the match Jazz argues with her manager, Teddy apologises and Jazz slaps Long and lays him out with a punch. She yells at him and tells him it’s over between them.

Winner: Victoria

In the back La Resistance are standing by with Todd Grisham. Todd asks them which 2 from the three will be in action tonight? Rene states that it will be a surprise just like it was last week when they came out and attacked the champions. It is about time La Resistance are respected. They were never even considered to be part of the 4 way double title tag match at WrestleMania. That was a great opportunity for them to win the tag titles. Then they were left off the Backlash card. Finally the tag champions promised them a match but they never got the match but tonight they have got the match and they will beat the self proclaimed World’s Greatest Tag Team for the titles. Todd asked if this would cause a problem if lets say they win the tag belts. Whoever doesn’t compete, how will he feel that he did not get the chance to be tag champion? Conway told Todd there won’t be no problem, they are a unit and told Todd stop trying to cause any trouble. Everyone will find out next which two members will go out there.

Match 2
Tag Team Title Match
The World’s Greatest Tag Team (c) vs La Resistance

Rene Dupree and Rob Conway are the ones that will be wrestling tonight for the tag team titles. Sylvan isn’t out here. Maybe they have a plan. Dupree tells the fans they are ignorant for not respecting La Resistance. They sing the national anthem of their country but get interrupted by Haas and Benjamin as the champs come out. The bell rings and both teams start talking trash. Haas and Benjamin start hammering away at the challengers and dropkick them over the top rope to the floor. Benjamin is going to start this off with Dupree. Shelton gets a headlock and sends Dupree to the ropes and takes him down with a shoulder block. Dupree comes back with a kick to the gut and sends Shelton into the corner and tags in Conway. La Resistance start double teaming Shelton and the referee orders Dupree to get back in his corner. Conway sends Shelton to the ropes and Shelton counters with a spinning heel kick. He tags in Haas who comes in and clotheslines Conway. Haas scores with a great german suplex. Haas gets a wrist lock on Conway and Conway pokes Haas in the eyes and gets a scoop slam. He tags in Dupree who takes control. La Resistance make frequent tags until Haas gets the hot tag and tags in Shelton. The match goes back and forth and Haas applies the Haas of Pain on Dupree. Conway gets in and boots Haas to the head and Shelton runs in and dropkicks Conway.

Shelton delivers a stinger splash to Dupree who moves out the way and Shelton ends up hitting the floor. Conway goes outside the ring and starts stomping away on Shelton. Haas whips Dupree and Dupree accidently knocks the referee down. Haas delivers a german suplex on Dupree but the ref is down. Haas goes to check on the ref. Sylvan runs in, and he switches with Rene and pretends to be knocked out. Haas revives the ref. Haas goes for the pin but Sylvan turns Haas over and rolls Haas up for the three count and La Resistance win the tag team belts. Sylvan rolls to the floor and hides under the ring. Another referee comes out and tells them that they cheated and show a replay.

La Resistance knock that referee down and the other referee tells them that he was going to restart this match but now he’s disqualifying La Resistance for putting their hands on an official. The Dudleys run down to the ring and save the other referee from getting assaulted. They pull Sylvan out from underneath the ring. TWGTT brawl with Dupree and Conway in the ring and the Dudleys roll Sylvan back in the ring. The Dudleys hit a 3D on Conway and hit one also on Dupree. The Dudleys get a table outside the ring and bring it inside. Chuck and Bull run down the ramp but they have second thoughts and decide to stay on the ramp since The Dudleys have a table on the ring. The Dudleys want TWGTT to table Sylvan. TWGTT hit a doomsday device by putting Sylvan through the table. Both teams high five each other and this is payback from last week.
Winners by Disqualification: The World’s Greatest Tag Team

Todd Grisham is standing by with Batista. He states that three weeks ago before WrestleMania 20, Benoit beat him. That was the first time ever that he tapped out in his career and tonight he will tear Benoit apart, he’s going to soften him up for HHH. Then next week HHH will be back on top.

Eugene Training Session with The Rock and William Regal
This was a long skit. Regal starts to explain to Eugene that he must follow his instructions. Eric Bischoff has put him in charge of preparing Eugene for Eugene’s first match which is in two weeks. He tried a week ago to get Eugene ready but it simply didn’t work out but now he has the most electrifying man in sports entertainment to assist him in training Eugene. Regal tells Eugene that he must listen to instructions from him and The Rock. The Rock told Regal he’s got this and told Eugene is he excited? Eugene is very excited. Rock tells Eugene that first he wants Regal to get in the ring with Eugene. Regal didn’t want to do this, he thought Rock would be getting in the ring. Regal decides to go ahead with it, maybe if he works stiff on Eugene, Eugene won’t go ahead with it and he can tell Bischoff that Eugene doesn’t have what it takes to be a wrestler. So this way Regal doesn’t have to take care of Eugene anymore. So Regal decides to get in the ring with Eugene and they grapple.

Regal works a bit stiff on Eugene and Rock tells Regal to take it easy and tells Regal for 5 minutes he has to be a dummy because he wants to see what Eugene can do. Regal can’t touch him. So the bell rings and Eugene just goes crazy on Regal. Regal starts screaming and shouting, he pulls Regal’s hair, bites him, licks his face and does silly things. So Regal pleads with Rock to stop this. Rock tells Eugene that he indeed needs a lot of work and for this session it will be Regal teaching Eugene. Rock just wants to mess around for a bit and have fun. So he lets Regal do his thing but tells him to go easy on Eugene so Regal teaches him basic grappling holds. Now it’s Eugene’s turn to do holds but he throws Regal down aggressively. This continues on with Regal teaching Eugene more basic holds, plus some submission holds. Regal taught Eugene how to do the claw hold, Eugene now does the same move on Regal and Regal starts shouting to Rock to tell Eugene to let go. Rock stops it. Rock tells them that’s it for this session and now they will have a break. In the next session, Regal will be taking a rest and the Rock will be teaching Eugene. Regal thinks this is a good time now for him to have fun with Rock for what he just put Regal through with.

In the back Eric Bischoff is with Coach as they look on the monitor. Coach says Boss did you just see that? Eric looks at Coach and they both start laughing. Bischoff then gets straight back to business by setting up an 8 man tag match for next week, 2 members of La Resistance team with Chuck and Bull as they face The Dudleys and The World’s Greatest Tag Team. Christian shows up with Trish and A-Train. He starts sucking up to Bischoff and Trish is glad that Eugene is not going to be on Raw for the next two weeks. Christian states that tonight is a big night for him. He already sent a message to the world champion Chris Benoit earlier on and tonight he will beat former champions Chris Jericho, HHH and Shawn Michaels. The only thing that worries him is that Evolution may get involved tonight and that could harm his chances of winning the match. He asks Eric if he’s going to do something about it. Eric told Christian that there will be no outside interference tonight so Evolution, Trish and A-Train won’t be there at ringside for the main event. Trish states that she’s Christian’s girlfriend at least she should be at ringside for support. Eric apologises to Trish but he just can’t do that because then if he lets her be there at ringside then he’s also gotta deal with Evolution. Eric told Christian he believes in him, he’s a pretty big supporter of Captain Charisma and he’s got to do this alone tonight. Christian says that’s fine, he is going to show his peeps tonight that the Jericho’s, The HBK’s and The Games times are over and now it’s his time to shine.

Garrison Cade is in the back with Todd Grisham. Cade talked about Lance Storm and how it was an honour to wrestle him. His first match last year was against Lance Storm. He will miss him. Todd Grisham asks Cade now that he’s split up with his tag partner, when will we see him in action? Cade says he’s ready to compete. Ric Flair shows up and confronts Cade. Flair told Cade that Storm was not a legend and he humiliated Storm at Backlash by making him submit. He looks at Cade and told him he may be young but he’s no Randy Orton, he’s not better than him. If Cade wants an opportunity on Raw then why doesn’t he step in the ring with the Nature Boy right now? Now that would be an honour for him to step in the ring with a legend. Whooo!!! What do ya say punk? Cade said before he was rudely interrupted by Flair he was more than ready to compete tonight and this is a great opportunity to make a name for himself by beating Ric Flair. He agrees to a match, Flair whoos him and slaps him in the face and walks off. Cade has an intense look on his face and the match is next.

Match 3
Ric Flair vs Garrison Cade
Flair is in control at the start of the match but Cade comes back with an armdrag. He gets a big clothesline and goes for a cover and Flair kicks out. He misses a charge and Flair chops away at Cade in the corner and then starts strutting in the ring. Irish whip and Cade fights back with a right hand and gets a backdrop on Flair. Cade gets a bulldog and gets a near fall. Cade gets a rollup and Flair kicks out at 2. Inside Cradle and Flair again kicks out. Flair is getting frustrated now and Flair comes back with the classic thumb to the eye. Flair delivers a suplex and gets a knee drop. Flair applies the figure four and makes Cade submit. Flair wins. Cade put up a hell of a fight but that’s a hell of a competitor that he’s trying to beat and Ric Flair taught Cade a lesson in the ring. This is so far a very good night for Evolution.
Winner: Ric Flair

Shawn Michaels is standing by with Todd Grisham. Michaels mentions that he almost came close to winning the belt at Backlash and took Benoit to the limit. Now he has another opportunity to get a match against Benoit but he has to go through three men. He will be victorious tonight and next week he will beat Chris Benoit to become the new world heavyweight champion.

Match 4
Non Title: Chris Benoit vs Batista

Benoit comes down to the ring selling his injuries from the attack earlier on from Christian. The match starts with both locking up and Batista uses his strength to knock Benoit down. Batista starts posing and flexing his muscles. They lock up again and again Batista throws Benoit down. Batista starts stomping away on Benoit as he dominates the match in the early going. Batista backs Benoit into the corner and lands a few knees to the gut. Batista sends Benoit into the corner and goes for a charge and Benoit moves out the way. Benoit rolls Batista up for a near fall. Benoit gets some vicious knife edge chops on Batista and delivers a great snap suplex for a near fall. Benoit starts working on Batista’s leg as he attempts an early sharpshooter but Batista kicked him away. Benoit fought back and tried to do a sunset flip, but Batista countered by lifting Benoit up and connects with a chokebomb and gets a near fall. Batista is near the ropes and kicks Benoit to the gut and goes for the Batista bomb but Benoit slips out and gets the crossface. Since Batista is near the ropes, he has his foot on the bottom rope. Benoit isn’t letting go and the ref starts the count and Benoit breaks it up. Batista rolls outside the ring and holds on to his arm and now the big man is getting frustrated. Batista is back in and Benoit starts stomping away at Batista. He whips Batista into the corner and goes for a charge but runs into a boot by Batista.

Batista is now in control as he hits some power moves such as the side walk slam, back breaker and a powerslam. Batista then gets a bear hug and Benoit fights out of it. Benoit and Batista are exchanging a few hits. Benoit attempts to fight back with a few chops to the chest. Benoit hits the german suplex and hits four more, very impressive to do that to Batista. Benoit goes up to the top and goes for the flying headbutt but Batista rolls out the way. Batista launches Benoit into the corner with full force. As Benoit struggles to his feet Batista attempts the Batista bomb but Benoit backdrops Batista to the floor. Benoit goes right after Batista and Batista launches Benoit into the steel post. Batista rolls back in the ring as the ref starts the count. Benoit is back in by 8. Batista batters Benoit in the corner and starts taunting Benoit. Benoit manages to duck a right hand to deliver some chops. He takes Batista to the top turnbuckle and delivers a superplex on the big man and gets a near fall. Benoit attempts a sharpshooter and tries to turn Batista over but Ric Flair comes down the ramp and Benoit lets go. Flair taunts Benoit and that’s enough for the distraction as Benoit turns around and Batista catches him and hits a big spinebuster. Batista starts posing again. Batista lifts Benoit up on his shoulders and drops him down hard with the Batista bomb. Batista goes for the cover and gets the 3 count to win the match. Batista just beat Chris Benoit. What a huge win for Batista. Flair notices his old rival Hall of Famer Harley Race in the crowd and he walks over to him and yells whooo in his face and walks off. Batista and Flair celebrate on the ramp and Benoit is back up on his feet and he’s very annoyed that he lost this match.
Winner: Batista

In the back Batista is celebrating with Flair and Orton. Flair mentioned that his old rival Harley Race was in the crowd. Orton tells Flair he’s going to go out there right now and make a statement. HHH walks in and praises Batista, he is so impressed with him. He knew Batista would get the job done. Last week he beat The Rock and now he beat Chris Benoit. Now that’s how Evolution rolls. HHH said Rock got what he deserved and now that he’s suspended that’s one guy out the title picture. Rock thought by getting a fluke win over him would get him a title shot but that didn’t happen. The belt is his, and next week it’s coming back to Evolution. He’s waited for a long time now to get his hands on Chris Benoit and tonight he will beat Michaels, Jericho and Christian. HHH states that Benoit hasn’t proven nothing yet, and when he gets his rematch next week, Benoit’s dream will be over. Batista fires HHH up and says go get them champ.

Randy Orton and Harley Race Confrontation
Randy Orton’s music hits as he makes his way down to ringside. Orton told the fans that he’s still pretty banged up and he will be in action next week. Last week Rock came out to confront him, if he was not banged up he could have easily beaten The Rock but next week he will be back in action. As for The Rock, Rock ended up being humiliated in Canada and now he’s gone for a month. That’s the price you pay when you mess with Evolution. It’s been a huge night for Evolution, Ric Flair won his match earlier, Batista beat Chris Benoit and later on HHH will become the # 1 contender and will beat Chris Benoit for the title next week. This leaves him, since he isn’t in action tonight he’s come out here to address something that’s been bothering him. He looks at the crowd and turns his attention to Harley Race who is in the front row. Orton doesn’t understand why Harley Race is called a legend. The only true legend around here is him. A month ago, Harley Race was inducted in the Hall of Fame. Orton thinks it’s a travesty that Race was inducted because what he’s achieved in his 2 year career is more than what Race accomplished in his entire life. He wants to know why this old has been is in there before him and his father Cowboy Bob Orton.

Orton asks Race to get in the ring and explain why he is in the Hall of Fame. What has he done to become a legend and be inducted in the Hall of Fame. Race isn’t getting in the ring. Come on old man, get in the ring right now. Orton left the ring and walks up to Race. Orton states that his father Cowboy Bob Orton was way better than Harley Race. Evolution’s Ric Flair is better than Harley Race and the nature boy even today is still going strong. Orton asked Race is he out here to congratulate Orton in retiring Mick Foley? Race has finally had enough of Orton as Orton gets back in the ring and Race enters the ring. Race is handed a mic. Race gives his reasons, he tells Orton many reasons why he’s a legend and was inducted in the Hall of Fame. First of all the WWE Hall of Fame was not the only HOF he’s been inducted in, he’s been in many including the WCW Hall of Fame. He’s been an NWA world heavyweight champion on many occasions something Orton hasn’t achieved. He’s had a great rivalry with Orton’s mentor Ric Flair. Race says he made Flair’s career. Race continues on as he said he main evented the first ever Starrcade ppv as the heavyweight champion. He was also a great manager and finally he’s been KING OF THE RING something Orton hasn’t been yet. Orton gets pissed off and tells Race that the legend killer Randy Orton hasn’t even hit his prime yet and has achieved so much. The next ppv which will also feature Raw stars is the King of the Ring which is 7 weeks from now. Orton told Race that he will become King of the Ring. Being King of the Ring will add to his list of amazing accomplishments that he's achieved so far in the WWE. Orton suddenly drops Race with an RKO and starts posing in the ring.

Chris Jericho is standing by with Todd Grisham. Jericho gives his thoughts on what happened earlier tonight to Benoit. Jericho calls Christian a coward and a creepy little bastard. He’s going to ruin Christian’s big moment tonight. He reminds us that a few months ago he made a big sacrifice. Eric Bischoff still owed him the Survivor Series favour so he wanted a title shot. However Bischoff punished him and he had to give up his title shot for saving Trish in a match against Christian. This was obviously a set up as Trish and Christian pulled one over him at WrestleMania. Now that he has another opportunity at the world title, he’s not going to let his go. He’s been to the top before and he wants to become champion again. Tonight he’s going to go through that jackass Christian, HHH and Shawn Michaels and will become the #1 contender.

Eugene Training Session continued.
Now The Rock takes over. The Rock really motivates Eugene here. Regal yells at Eugene to show an aggressive side against Rock but Eugene is slowly starting to know the holds that Regal taught him earlier and works well with Rock. Rock teaches him submission holds. He calls Regal over to be a dummy again as he’s going to teach Eugene the peoples elbow. Regal freaks out and told Rock, he thought he was going to have a rest? Rock said he needs Regal to assist him here. He won’t hurt him, the impact will be slow. So Rock hits the Rock Bottom, peoples elbow on Regal. He teaches Eugene other various holds such as The Stunner, The Pedigree. Regal was very very exhausted here and now it’s Eugene’s turn to hit the move. Regal gets out the ring and doesn’t want Eugene to perform these finishing holds on him incase he does it wrong. Rock is like come on William, you need to help him out here afte rall, Regal was the one that came to The Rock. Regal gets back in and asks Rock to tell Eugene to take it easy. Eugene goes crazy and hits finishing moves on Regal and Regal is screaming in pain. He ends it with an aeroplane spin. Regal starts shouting and tells Eugene to let go. Regal is very dizzy. That’s it for today, the training session is over. Eugene goes over to Regal and says are you ok Mr Regal? Regal puts on a miserable face. Eugene really enjoyed the training session and Rock then told Eugene next week he will teach him catchphrases and the training will continue and Eugene will have an exhibition match.

In the back, Eric Bischoff was quite impressed, somehow The Rock has worked some magic here to turn Eugene into a fine athlete. Eric knew he made the right choice to have Regal taking care of Eugene. Eric told Coach that he will be taking on Eugene next week in the exhibition match so he orders Coach to get hold of Regal so he can see them next week for the match. Coach did not like this at all.

Main Event
Fatal Four Way # 1 contenders match: Winner gets a title shot next week on Raw
HHH vs Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho vs Christian

Christian is the first man to come out. Jericho is out next. HHH then makes his way down to the ring and finally HBK comes out last. The bell rings and they stand off to begin with. Jericho knocks Christian down with a right hand and Michaels and HHH slug it out in the corner. HHH sends Michaels to the ropes and catches him with a knee lift. Jericho whips Christian to the ropes and gets a backdrop. Jericho goes for a suplex, Christian slips out and rolls Christian up and HHH breaks up the fall. HHH now goes after Jericho as Michaels and Christian now battle it out. Michaels chops away at Christian into the corner. He whips Christian into the corner who goes right into Jericho as Jericho backdrops Christian to the floor. Now Michaels and Jericho go after HHH and start hammering away at the game in the corner. HHH rolls out and Michaels and Jericho go at it. Jericho knocks Michaels down with a flying forearm, Michaels kips up and gets a clothesline on Jericho. A crossbody from HBK gets a near fall. Christian and HHH are now back in as Michaels and HHH go at it again. Jericho and Christian battle it out in the corner as Jericho now chops away at Christian. Michaels with rights to HHH. He whips HHH to the corner, boot from HHH. HHH whips Michaels to the ropes and gets an atomic drop followed by a clothesline. HHH makes the cover and Michaels kicks out at two. Christian counters a suplex and suplexes Jericho to the floor.

Christian and HHH double team Michaels. Jericho is on the apron making his way back in and HHH grabs him and suplexes him back. Christian and HHH maintain control until Christian turns on HHH but HHH comes back and gets a high knee. He goes for a cover and Jericho breaks it up. Midway into the match, Jericho and Christian fight outside the ring. Inside the ring HHH gets a sleeper hold on HBK, HBK gets back on his feet and breaks out of it. Michaels clotheslines HHH to the floor. Michaels goes to the top turnbuckle and dives and takes all three men down. All four of them are now out on the floor. Jericho rolls Christian in the ring as Michaels and HHH fight outside the ring. HHH tosses Michaels onto the Spanish announce table and attempts a pedigree but stops because inside the ring Jericho goes for the walls of Jericho on Christian and HHH runs in for the save. Christian and HHH double team again as they pound away on Jericho. Jericho fights back and takes them down with a clothesline. Michaels is on the apron and Jericho hits a standing dropkick knocking him down. Jericho tosses HHH over the top rope. Jericho is in control. He hits a running insiguri on Christian and goes for a cover but HHH puts Christian’s foot on the rope. HHH is back in and so is HBK as all four men brawl in the ring.

HHH does the 10 punch on HBK in the corner but Michaels counters at 7 into an atomic drop. Michaels gets a slam on HHH. He goes to the top rope but Jericho jumps to the top rope and executes a superplex on HBK from the top rope. He goes for a cover and Christian breaks it up. Christian whips Jericho into the turnbuckle and goes to the top and delivers a spinning corner ddt and gets a near fall. Christian gets a boston crab on Jericho and HHH gets an Indian death lock on Michaels at the same time. The faces reverse the holds and the heels are hanging in there desperately trying to make the ropes. They make the ropes. The action goes back and forth as Christian looks for the unprettier on Michaels but he counters into a back suplex. Michaels goes to the top rope and hits an elbow drop on Christian. He goes for a cover and Jericho breaks it up. Jericho has saved Christian but he’s not really saving Christian, he doesn’t want Michaels to win the match. Jericho and Michaels trade chops and they both end up knocking each other out with a double clothesline. Both men kip up at the same time. Jericho runs into Michaels as he’s attempting to hit the codebreaker, HBK sidesteps but HHH kicks Jericho to the gut and hits the pedigree. He goes for the cover and Michaels drops an elbow on HHH. Christian comes from behind and connects with a reverse neckbreaker on HBK and now HHH breaks up the fall.

Jericho is back up on his feet and HHH gets a spinebuster on Jericho. He picks Jericho up and attempts another pedigree but Jericho counters with a backdrop. Christian rolls Jericho up for a near fall. Christian misses a charge and Jericho hits a clothesline and then hits the lionsault. He goes for a cover and HBK breaks it up. Michaels superkicked HHH over the top rope to the floor and Christian then sends Michaels shoulder first into the ring post. Jericho reverses a whip and gets a backbreaker on Christian. Christian is back up on his feet, HBK is slowly getting back up to his feet. Jericho charges into Christian for a codebreaker, Christian ducks and Jericho walks into a superkick from HBK. Christian sneaks up on Michaels and tosses HBK over the top rope. He goes for a cover on Jericho as HHH staggers to the apron and tries to make a save, 1....2...3. No HHH doesn’t make it in time and Christian has just pinned Jericho to win the match.
Winner: Christian

Christian did it. He’s getting a title shot next week against Chris Benoit. At Backlash, Jericho used the codebreaker for the first time to defeat Christian, but tonight Christian saw it coming and moved out the way. What a smart move from Christian. Again HBK had the match won but came up short again. HHH has to wait now even longer to get his rematch and Christian has got one over Jericho again. Christian the creepy little bastard has stole his way to victory. Trish and A-Train celebrate with Christian on the ramp as Raw comes to a close.

Next week on Raw: World Title Match: Chris Benoit (c) vs Christian

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

RAW Review

Benoit opening the show was definitely the right move considering how he is the World Heavyweight Champion and how he has to defend his title against the winner of the Fatal 4-Way Match later on tonight and that he was running down 3 out of the 4 wrestlers but not mentioning Christian made me think that Christian for sure is going to win tonight

And then Christian coming down interrupting Benoit by saying how Benoit is scared of him and that if they should face off, that he will become the new World Champion and Benoit told him to earn a victory, now I definitely cannot wait until the Fatal 4-Way match later on tonight, and I won't be surprised if Christian does in fact win the title next week

Backstage with the WGTT and the Dudleys talking about La Resistance and the fact that they have 3 members in their group almost guarantees that they will be up to something and then saying how Palumbo and Johnny the Bull had no business interfering in that match, which makes me think that these 4 tag teams will have a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match for the World Tag Team Titles at the next RAW PPV, hopefully leading to a face turn for WGTT.

Jazz losing a match against the WWE Women's Champion Victoria again definitely means that Jazz will either go to the back of the line or that Jazz might turn face and if she does, she doesn't need Teddy Long anymore anyways because he was holding her back

La Resistance backstage with Todd Grisham, that segment I loved a whole lot as to me they are a unit, and that it doesn't matter which 2 members go out there, all that matters is that they become World Tag Team Champions and I can definitely see that happening for them somewhere down the line

WGTT beating La Resistance by DQ was the right call especially considering that Sylvan got involved and the 3 of them started to beat down on WGTT until The Dudleys came to the rescue and then WGTT hitting a Doomsday Device on Sylvan sending him through the table was awesome, and Johnny The Bull & Palumbo trying to get involved again but having second thoughts was good because then that way they save their energy for when they get their shot at the tag titles whenever that happens to be

Batista's interview with Todd Grisham about having to face Benoit, one of my highs for the night, Batista tapped out and that is something that he will never do again, Batista made a believer out of me when he said that. I can definitely see him being Benoit now.

Eugene training segment with Regal & The Rock, I loved that a whole lot and Bischoff & Coach seeing the segment on a monitor, that was awesome only for Christian, A-Train, and Trish to come in, and then Bischoff making the rules that A-Train & Trish, and Evolution are all banned from ringside to make this match fair, that is a very good call. Then Christian saying how he is going to win the Fatal 4-Way match tonight, I can definitely see him doing it now!!!!!!

Flair beating Cade, definite right call for this one

Michaels's interview with Todd, another high for me

Batista beating Benoit, I knew it, but Benoit I have to admit put up one hell of a fight but came up short, awesome match all around for both men. Then Flair coming out to celebrate with Batista made it all the more sweet and what made it even more sweet was when Flair saw his old rival Harley Race in the crowd and he did a Woo right in Race's face, that was disrespectful of Naitch but still it was awesome. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evolution backstage celebrating with Batista after his win, that was even more awesome, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Orton and Harley Race's segment together was pretty awesome and then Orton RKO's Harley Race to end the segment, which made me think that if he could do that to Harley Race, then he definitely deserves a mega push. Orton if he is in the King of the Ring tournament I can definitely see him winning it!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Eugene segment continuation was pretty good, maybe Eugene he can compete in the King of the Ring tournament in 7 weeks, imagine if Eugene were to win that, that would be the biggest upset in WWE history especially if that were to happen, too unfathomable to even contemplate!!!!!!!!!!!

Christian wins the Fatal 4-Way Match, I am so happy as you definitely made the right decision here, that is for sure!!!!!!!!!! Christian vs. Benoit in the main event of next week's RAW, can't wait!!!!!!

Overall great RAW and I cannot wait until your Smackdown episode!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. The shows will soon continue to get even better. Smackdown will hopefully be up tomorrow.

WWE Smackdown Preview
April 29, 2004

Tonight on Smackdown, Eddie Guerrero and the Undertaker will have their first confrontation since they teamed up a month ago on Smackdown. Tazz will be conducting an interview with the WWE Champion and the phenom. Last week, Eddie had a confrontation with Kane which resulted in Eddie receiving a chokeslam from Kane. Will the Undertaker make a statement tonight on Smackdown? Later on the Undertaker and Eddie Guerrero will be teaming up in action as they will face the team of Edge and Rey Mysterio. Will The Undertaker and Eddie Guerrero co-exist as a team? Last week Edge hit Rey Mysterio with the spear by accident. What kind of effect will this have on their match tonight?

Once good friends but now bitter enemies. Last week Rob Van Dam was betrayed by his tag team partner Booker T as Booker T had enough of RVD and attacked his partner. Tonight is the night for RVD to get his revenge. RVD will be teaming up with John Cena as they take on Booker T and Val Venis. Will Booker T actually compete in this match? Will Booker come up with another excuse to get out of this match since he knows that RVD will be coming for revenge.

Paul Heyman has also set up a match between Rhyno and the big red machine Kane. Is this another plan of Heyman to punish Rhyno?

Also tonight Paul Heyman has set up an 8 man Texas Tornado Cruiserweight match to determine the # 1 contender for the cruiserweight title at Judgment Day. This means that all cruiserweights will be in the ring at the same time. Who will become the #1 contender for the cruiserweight title? All this and more on Smackdown.

Confirmed Matches
Eddie Guerrero and The Undertaker vs Edge and Rey Mysterio
John Cena and RVD vs Booker T & Val Venis

WWE Smackdown
April 29, 2004

Edge and Rey Mysterio confrontation
The announcers welcome us to the show. Tazz and Cole put over a confrontation between Eddie Guerrero and the Undertaker later tonight. They will also be teaming up tonight to face Edge and Rey Mysterio. Edge’s music hits as he makes his way down to the ring. Edge gets a mixed reaction. Edge is handed a mic and Edge talks about his recent actions. He felt what he’s doing is right and he is eliminating any obstacle that comes in his way. Kurt Angle was one and he got him out the way. Rikishi was always going to be a threat to him so he got him out the way before Rikishi got to him. After the negative reaction he received last week by his own Canadian fans, he’s just about had enough of the fans. Since coming back to Smackdown, he hasn’t been getting the reaction he deserves. If they don’t respect him, then he doesn’t respect them either and all these fans don’t deserve it. When they should be on his side after what he went through, yet they still boo him. He called them hypocrites for cheering a guy like Kurt Angle who put him out of action for a year. These fans still cheer Rikishi who ran over their hero Stone Cold. He had to do what is right and now all he wants to be is WWE champion at all costs. Rey Mysterio’s music hits as he comes out to confront Edge. Edge is not happy to see Rey out here. Edge tells Rey that last week he told Rey not to interfere in his business again so why is he out here.

Rey thinks Edge is blind by ambition. Edge’s theme brings up a question, you think you know me, but Rey thinks he doesn’t know Edge well enough. He thought he did but since coming back, this is not the Edge he used to know. This is not the Edge he won the tag titles with. Rey brings up a point that he was the one who visited Edge the most in hospital when Edge was out of action for a year. Rey thinks Edge is now becoming a lot like Booker T. Edge takes offense to this. He reminds Rey and the fans about all the pain and physical theraphy he had to go through to get back to where he is. Now that he’s back, all these fans don’t show any appreciation for him at all. Rey thinks what Edge just said about the fans is completely wrong. Edge just came back from some serious potential career ending injury, the fans welcomed him back but Edge didn’t respect them back. Edge said now he doesn’t give a damn about these fans, he doesn’t care about crowd support. Mysterio reminds Edge that last week Edge’s own Canadian fans were booing him out the building while earlier on they were chanting 619, 619for him. Tonight they have a tag match tonight and as a team they were former tag team champions. Edge points out that if he gets to pin the champion tonight then maybe Paul Heyman will take notice and give him the title shot he deserves. He talks about neither of them having a match at Judgment Day yet until....

Paul Heyman comes out on the stage and tells Edge that he actually has no problem with him. He just hates the fact that Edge had to ruin the finals of his lethal lottery tournament. He does however have a problem with Mysterio when he along with many others turned his back on him just before WrestleMania. He has a problem with Eddie because since becoming champion, Eddie has mocked him. He has a problem with The Undertaker because he tombstoned him and he had to wear a neck brace but he doesn’t want nothing to do with him. Edge butted in and said Paul was overlooking him. He said the last time he overlooked him, he then took his frustrations out on others. He doesn’t even have a damn match at Judgment Day. Smackdown can not be called the land of opportunity if Edge is not given an opportunity. Paul states that he is fair but on Smackdown you don’t get handed things the easy way, you have to earn it. If Edge pulls a Booker T like last week, then there will be consequences. Edge promised to make a statement tonight. Paul proposes a very special match at Judgment Day. He is giving the fans a match they have never seen before. For the first time ever at Judgment Day, Edge will face..... REY MYSTERIO. Good luck, Heyman drops the mic and leaves. Edge and Rey stare at each other.

Josh Matthews is standing by with RVD. What we just saw now was two friends(Edge and Rey) being forced to compete against each other at Judgment Day. Here we have a man who was betrayed his friend last week. RVD was having fun teaming with Booker but it was Booker who didn’t want to team with him. All Booker cared was for himself and simply didn’t want to be a team player. After what he did to him last week, RVD promises to get revenge on Booker T and accepts Booker’s challenge for Judgment Day. The act that Booker put on last week by faking an injury, RVD wants to turn this for real and Booker will be the one who will be walking on crutches.

Match 1
8 Man Texas Tornado Match to determine the #1 contender for the cruiserweight title
Chavo Guerrero Jr vs Spike Dudley vs Scotty 2 Hotty vs Akio vs Funaki vs Nunzio vs Jamie Noble vs Johnny Nitro

All cruiserweights will be in the ring at the same time. The first man to score a pinfall or submission will become the # 1 contender for the cruiserweight title. The winner will face the cruiserweight champion Tajiri at Judgment Day. JBL’s music hits as he comes down to do commentary. Cole and Tazz don’t understand why JBL is out here but we will find out as Tony Chimmel introduces the cruiserweights. JBL explains that he’s out here to watch the action. JBL says this match wouldn’t be happening if the referee did not reverse his decision last week. He would have sold the cruiserweight title and then all these cruiserweights in the ring would have no title to compete for. The bell rings and it’s already chaos in the ring as the cruisers battle it out. Spike knocks down Chavo with a right hand, Akio and Funaki get a double dropkick on Noble. Nitro tossed Scotty 2 Hotty to the floor. Nunzio goes to the top and hits a missile dropkick on Spike and goes for an early cover but Chavo and Nitro break it up. Scotty fights back and delivers a backdrop suplex on Chavo and goes for a cover and Nitro breaks it up. Chavo gets tossed to the floor. JBL starts running down all the cruiserweights especially the foreign cruiserweights. JBL starts talking more trash about the foreign cruiserweights and says “all these illegal citizens need to be deported. They are a disgrace to this country. That damn Chavo is a mexican jumping bean. His fat father is over the hill and shouldn't be even competing in the ring, he's a disgrace. Nunzio should be locked up because he has connections with the mafia and Kyo Dai are thieves who stole his money.” Michael Cole was like come on JBL stop making these accusations and JBL said this was the damn truth. Tajiri is shown watching the match on the monitor and JBL talks trash about Tajiri saying he’s lucky to have that belt back. Noble, Nunzio, Akio and Funaki are back in as Noble hits a tigerbomb on Funaki and Akio breaks it up. The fast paced action continues as Akio goes to the top and hits a moonsault on Chavo but Funaki breaks it up. Akio argues with Funaki and now Kyo Dai go at it and JBL loves this. Akio sends Funaki to the ropes and Funaki hits a dropkick. Funaki climbs the ropes and gets a tornado DDT on Akio. Noble breaks it up. Noble and Nunzio start to work together and hit a double flapjack on Funaki. A lot of guys tried their finishers such as Nitro, Spike and Scotty but when they went for a cover, they were pulled off.

Nunzio drops the Sicilian Slice on Spike but Chavo makes the save. Noble gets Spike up in a firemans carry and gets the knees to the guts. He goes for a cover and Chavo breaks it up. Funaki avoids a charge from Nunzio and slingshots himself into a hurracanrana on the outside. Funaki and Akio are outside the ring and laugh at JBL. JBL gets pissed and warns them. The action continues to be fast paced as everybody ends up outside the ring except Noble. Noble goes to the ropes and attempts a dive on Scotty but Scotty moves out the way and Noble hurts his knee. Noble is screaming in pain and officials come down and Noble gets helped to the back. The match is over for Jamie Noble. The action continues as the rest of the cruiserweights are back inside. Chavo hits the brainbuster on Spike, he goes for a cover but Nitro breaks it up. Nitro gets tossed to the floor by Chavo. Chavo dropkicks Funaki to the floor. Scotty takes Nunzio up to the top for a superplex but Nitro knocks them off the top tope as they land on Funaki. Spike gets tossed to the floor by Chavo. This leaves Chavo in the ring with Spike. Chavo misses a charge and Akio delivers a dropkick. He goes to the top and hits a moonsault. Wait a minute, JBL gets inside the ring and as Akio goes for a cover he pulls Akio off Chavo and stomps away at Akio. JBL nails Akio with the clothesline from hell. Nunzio is back in and goes to the top rope but JBL catches him in mid-air and hits a fallaway slam. Chavo is back up and argues with JBL and tells him to get out the ring. JBL pretends to leave and as Chavo has his back turned he gets jumped by JBL. JBL hits a powerbomb on Chavo. Outside the ring Nitro whips Scotty to the ropes. Spike attempts to get back in and he’s on the apron but Nitro throws him down to the floor. Nitro is watching outside. Funaki is in and charges at JBL and runs into a big boot. JBL hits the clothesline from hell. Nitro slides in and JBL yells at Nitro to make a cover and Nitro pins Funaki for the 3 count to become the #1 contender. Nitro rolls out the ring and backs up the ramp to celebrate and leaves. JBL has a smile on his face and poses in the ring. Tajiri runs down and Scotty 2 Hotty gets in the ring as they pound away on JBL. Scotty’s revenge on JBL for what he did to Rikishi last week. All the cruisers get in and circle JBL and then proceed to beat the hell out of JBL. The cruisers dump JBL to the floor. JBL retreats to the back and he is livid.
Winner: Johnny Nitro

Matt Hardy and Johnny Nitro are standing by with Josh Matthews. Hardy hoped that Rhyno gets torn apart by Kane. It’s not Rhyno’s career on the rise, he’s going downhill while Matt Hardy is the one on the rise. Rhyno is going to get a lethal dose of Mattitude at Judgment Day. Nitro points out that he’s only been here for a month and he’s already the #1 contender for the cruiserweight title. The future looks good for Johnny Nitro and at Judgment Day he will become the cruiserweight champion.

Match 2
Kane vs Rhyno

Kane comes out first followed by Rhyno. As Rhyno enters the ring Kane quickly attacks. He starts throwing Rhyno around the ring. Kane lays the boots on Rhyno in the corner. He then whips Rhyno to the corner and follows up with a ddt and gets a near fall. Kane goes for a whip again but Rhyno counters with a shoulder block. Rhyno takes Kane down with a clothesline and gets a big shoulder to the gut. He charges into Kane and Kane counters into a powerslam and gets a near fall. Kane and Rhyno exchange right hands, Rhyno comes across the ropes and Kane hits a big boot to Rhyno right in the face. Kane delivers a sidewalk slam and then sets up for the chokeslam. Kane hits the chokeslam for the 3 count to win the match. Following the match Matt Hardy runs down and stomps away at Rhyno and drops him with the twist of fate.
Winner: Kane

Backstage JBL is furious. He issues a challenge to all the foreign cruiserweights at Judgment Day. He is going to run the gauntlet, a 4 on 1 International challenge gauntlet. JBL vs the World. He wants the Mexican Chavo Guerrero, the Italian Nunzio and the Japaneese, Akio and Funaki. He wants a sneak preview of that match by challenging 2 American Cruiserweights that stuck their nose in his business. He wants Spike Dudley and Scotty 2 Hotty in a 2 on 1 handicap match next week. They should be ashamed to call themselves Americans. He’s setting some rules. There will be no outside interferences from any of the cruiserweights next week. Spike and Scotty won’t be in the ring together at the same time, they have to tag. JBL promises to make an example out of Spike and Scotty and then at Judgment Day he will win the international gauntlet. He claimed that when he wins the gaunlet, he deserves to be given an award or trophy.

The Undertaker and Eddie Guerrero confrontation

Tazz conducts an interview with The Undertaker and Paul Bearer. This is Taker and Paul’s first in ring interview together in a long time. Paul Bearer wants to make his situation clear that he is not going to go back to his son Kane. He assures the creatures of the night that he’s not in co-hoots with his son Kane. Paul has been ashamed of his Kane’s actions since Kane lost his mask. What he did to The Undertaker at Survivor Series was a despicable act and The Undertaker made him pay at WrestleMania. Since WrestleMania, Undertaker has been making Kane’s life miserable. For the creatures of the night there will be time to rejoice when he leads The Undertaker once again to the WWE Title. Undertaker starts talking about revenge and that is what motivates him right now. What Kane did has awakened a beast who has laid silent for a long time. At Judgment Day not only will he defeat Kane, he will also end the reign of Eddie Guerrero. Tazz then introduces Eddie Guerrero who comes down to the ring to confront the Undertaker. Eddie says he has a lot of respect for Taker for what he’s done in this business but he’s not intimidated by him. He’s looking right in Undertaker’s eyes and tells him that he is not afraid. Undertaker looks at Eddie and tells him that Eddie currently posseses the one thing he desires the most and that’s the WWE title. His sole purpose in this lifeless world is to collect the souls of the unfortunate people who step in his path. He’s already been crowned the king of darkness and when Eddie comes face to face with The Undertaker, he will show no remorse, no mercy and when it’s all set and done he will fall victim to the Undertaker.

Eddie states that when that bell rings he won’t have a soul either esse. The only thing standing between him and continuing his dream are two walking nightmares called The Undertaker and Kane. He gave his heart and his soul for the WWE title and he’s not going to let two monsters take away his title that easily. Taker says that he has seen the best, he has fought the best and he has beaten the best. Eddie can’t lie, cheat and steal against The Undertaker. By committing these sins, Eddie will find out why he is the most feared entity in the WWE. Kane appears on the screen and warned both men that soon Judgment Day is approaching and for them. The re-emergence of his brother The Undertaker at WrestleMania has fueled the flames of memory that burn. He sent a message to Eddie Guerrero last week and challenged The Undertaker to a casket match next week on Smackdown. Next week he will tombstone The Undertaker straight to hell and then he’s coming for Eddie Guerrero. The Undertaker accepts Kane’s challenge and says Kane will Rest in Peace. Kane starts laughing as the screen goes out. Eddie stares at Taker and leaves as Taker motions for the belt.

Dawn Marie is in the back with Heyman. Dawn asks Paul she loves her job as an assistant but she could offer a lot also as a manager. She asks Paul if it’s ok with him if she can go and ask around if any guys would like to be managed by her. Paul thinks it’s a great idea and anyone would love to have Dawn as their manager.

Match 3
John Cena and RVD vs Booker T & Val Venis
Booker T’s music hits and he comes down to the ring and gets booed heavily. Booker is laughing. He gets a mic and lets the fans know that last week was a very satisfying moment in his career. The boos get louder. He doesn’t understand why fans are booing him. He wanted to move forward in his career and what he did to RVD last week sends a loud and clear message to the fans that he is going to become the number one star on Smackdown. Booker claims he’s better than the WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero, he’s more quicker than Rey Mysterio. He’s better than John Cena, The Undertaker and he’s certainly better than RVD. He talks trash about the fans and said it’s about time they appreciate him. None of these fans wanted Booker T to succeed, they wanted to see him being held down. All of his partners in the past he achieved bigger success than them. When he was teaming with Stevie Ray, he was held down. When they broke up, his career took off. Then in the WWE when he teamed with Goldust he was held down. When he split with Goldust, he was getting title matches. The same situation occurred when he teamed with RVD and now on Smackdown he’s going to prove he’s a bigger star than RVD. He did the right thing last week because if he continued to team with RVD then it would have gotten him nowhere. He’s been tag team champion before, but he’s never been the WWE Champion. Booker T points out that the last time he had a one on one heavyweight title match on ppv was at WrestleMania 19. Now that is a travesty and from now on things are going to change around here on Smackdown. Once he’s done kicking RVD’s ass at Judgment Day, the WWE Title will soon be around his waist now can you did that suckaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

RVD’s music hits as he runs down to the ring and the former partners go at it. Booker whips RVD to the ropes but RVD ends up nailing Booker with a spinning heel kick. RVD goes to the top rope for the 5 star frog splash but Booker rolls out the ring and backs up the ramp. RVD taunts Booker to get back in. RVD goes after Booker and Val Venis runs down to the ring and they start double teaming on RVD. Cena’s music hits as he runs down for the save. The match hasn’t officially began yet, finally the bell rings as the action starts. RVD and Val start off as Val gets an armdrag and a headlock. He knocks down RVD with a shoulder tackle. RVD fights back with some kicks. Lots of back and forth action here, with a strong start by Van Dam and Cena. They exchange quick tags until Booker is tagged in and Booker and RVD finally go at it. Booker decides to bail out but RVD goes after him. He chases Booker outside the ring until Val drops of the apron and catches RVD with an axehandle. Booker rolls Van Dam back in and gets the advantage for his team. Van Dam comes back with a right hand to Booker and then knocked Val off the apron. RVD gets a back drop on Booker followed by a rolling thunder. Booker just manages to kick out at 2. RVD takes Booker down with a spin kick. He goes to the top for a crossbody and connects. RVD executes a kick to the jaw of Booker and goes for a cover and Val breaks it up. Booker T ends up tagging Val, Val ducks a right hand and connects with a Russian leg sweep. Val then delivers a fisherman suplex and gets a near fall. Van Dam fights back and whips Val to the corner. He then crushes Val with a split-legged moonsault in the corner and only gets a 2 count. He tags in Cena.

Cena is now on fire and takes Val down with a shoulder block, he then hits the five knuckle shuffle and gets a near fall. Cena gets a hiptoss and then hits the throwback and gets another near fall. Val reverses a whip and takes Cena down with a bulldog. Val starts pounding away at Cena in the corner and then dumps him to the floor. Val tags in Booker. Back in Cena was on the receiving end of a back suplex and a knee to the gut. Booker T goes for a scissors kick but Cena counters with an FU but Booker grabbed the top ropes to hold on. Val comes in and gets a right hand on Cena and RVD runs in but the ref stops him and orders him to go back to his corner. Finally Cena makes the hot tag and RVD takes Val down with a clothesline, Booker goes for a kick, RVD ducks and executes a roundhouse kick on Booker. Cena and Val brawl on the floor with Cena ducking a right hand from Val and FUs him on the floor. Booker wastes a lot of time and does the spinaroonie but RVD is back up and catapults Booker into the corner and hits a spin kick. He goes up to the top and connects with a five star frog splash. He pins Booker for the 3 count to win the match. RVD taunts Booker and celebrates with Cena in the ring.
Winners: John Cena and RVD

A new vignette is aired of the same mysterious man shown last week. Again his face is not shown but he’s talking in darkness. He talks about living in darkness and shadows and how he likes to make people suffer. At the end of the vignette it says coming soon to Smackdown.

Backstage Chavo Guerrero Jr fires up the rest of the International Cruiserweights on Smackdown. He knows they don’t all see eye to eye but after what JBL did they need to put their differences aside. They accept JBL’s challenge for Judgment Day. Chavo is fed up of losing, he wants to get back to winning ways. He wanted to make history with his father by winning the tag titles but they didn’t win. He wanted to become the #1 contender for the cruiserweight title but he didn’t win and neither did the rest of these guys. JBL got involved and it’s about time they shut him up. They will show him that cruiserweights are not to be disrespected. He is proud of his Mexican heritage. JBL has made it personal by also disrespecting his father and he will pay for this. Nunzio said he’s proud to be Italian and he’s never won the cruiserweight belt but tonight JBL robbed him of an opportunity. At Judgment Day will show JBL that cruiserweights can hang in there with a bully like JBL. Nunzio knows how to take care of bullys, he may be small but he's tough and he proved that when he was the leader of the FBI. Funaki says him and Akio also have issues with JBL and the cruiserweights will embarrass JBL at Judgment Day. Chavo Classic is not pleased with what JBL had to say about him. JBL called him over the hill and a disgrace. He's still got a lot of fight left in him and since JBL is in action next week, he challenges JBL to a match the following week. Chavo Classic says at Judgment Day he will be in the corner of the international cruiserweights.

Match 4
Kidman vs The Hurricane

A clip is shown of Velocity as Paul London defeated Shannon Moore. Now on Smackdown Kidman will be taking on the Hurricane. They lock up and exchange holds in the early going. Kidman delivers a flying head scissors and follows up with a dropkick. He throws Hurricane to the floor and London throws Hurricane back in. Kidman sends Hurricane to the ropes and Hurricane counters with a shining wizard. He goes for a cover and Kidman has his foot on the ropes. Hurricane now throws Kidman to the floor and this time Shannon Moore throws Kidman back in the ring. The action continues as Kidman is back in control as he gets a face buster for a near fall. Hurricane tries to fight back with some elbows but Kidman drops him with a running knee lift. Kidman hits a quick insiguri and tries for a shooting star press but Helms is back up on his feet and goes to the top and takes Kidman down with a frankensteiner. Both men are down. Hurricane is first to get to his feet. Hurricane connects with a dropkick and follows up with a back body drop. He goes to the top and gets a flying body press for a near fall. Hurricane hits the hurrislam for a near fall. Kidman reverses a whip and takes Helms down with a clothesline. Kidman goes for a powerbomb but Helms slips out and hits the eye of the hurricane. Helms goes for a cover and gets a 3 count to pick up the victory. Following the match Paul London tries to attack Helms from behind but Shannon Moore gets in and Helms and Moore hit a double dropkick on London. They send him to the floor with a clothesline. Kidman gets a mic and he believes him and London will win the tag team titles at Judgment Day. They want to put on a match that the fans will remember for ages. Paul London then talks and wanted a ladder match for the belts. Hurricane and Moore accept and it’s on. Helms and Moore raise the tag belts in the air and taunt Kidman and London as they back up the ramp.
Winner: The Hurricane

In the back Kidman is annoyed that he just lost. Dawn Marie approaches them and offers her managerial services to them. She asks them if they want her to guide them to the top. They will climb that ladder and win the tag team titles. She starts teasing them and assures them if they accept her as a manager, they will be tag champs very soon. Kidman and London just stare at her and say yes. Dawn says great. Now since Torrie is a good friend of Hurricane and Shannon Moore it’s now likely that she will be in their corner. As she’s also an assistant to Paul Heyman, she’s decided that next week we have an intergender six person tag. Dawn Marie, London and Kidman vs Torrie, Hurricane and Shannon Moore.

Edge and Rey are standing by with Josh Matthews. Josh asked them now that they are facing each other at Judgment Day, what impact will this have on their tag team match next?
Edge never expected this, he wanted to discuss team strategy with Rey but now he also has his mind on his match that is set for Judgment Day against Rey. This will not affect their match. Rey isn’t he’s not too pleased with Heyman’s announcement but the current problems and their match will not affect their friendship. Rey asks Edge what sort of strategy does Edge have in mind. Edge thinks the best way for Rey not to clash with his friend Eddie is to let him go in the ring with Eddie. So whenever Taker is tagged in, he will tag Rey in. Rey said this isn’t strategy, Edge just wants nothing to do with The Undertaker. Last week he ran away from Taker but next, there is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. Edge gets pissed off. He believes that he’s better than Rey and more deserving of a title shot than Rey. He believes that he can beat Rey and will beat him at Judgment Day. After beating Rey, this will hopefully convince Paul Heyman that Edge deserves a shot at the title. Rey said he is looking forward to their match at Judgment Day but their main priority at the moment is their match next. He wants Edge to focus and be a team player and not let his anger get the better of him.

Edge responds back and tells Rey he’s more of bigger team player than Rey. He’s won the tag team championship on many occasions, he has more tag team match experience than Rey. Although his goal is NOT to go back to winning the tag team titles, Rey can certainly count on him on having his back for tonight. For one night only, Edge and Rey Mysterio will team again and will be victorious. Then at Judgment Day we will find out who the better man is. Rey extends a handshake and Edge shakes his hand. They start walking off until Scotty 2 Hotty confronts Edge for what he did last week. Rey apologises to Scotty on Edge’s behalf and Scotty doesn’t want Rey to apologise for what Edge did. He thinks Rey is making a huge mistake for trusting Edge. Edge yells at Rey and tells him not to apologise to Scotty because he is not ashamed of his actions. He told Scotty to beat it as he has a match next. Scotty gets in his face and Edge beats him up. Rey restrains Edge and attends to Scotty. Edge yells you’re supposed to be with me, not him. He tells Rey either you’re with him or me. Rey is not pleased with Edge’s actions and starts walking.

Main Event
Edge and Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero and The Undertaker

Edge comes out first followed by Rey. Eddie Guerrero comes out next followed by The Undertaker. The match begins and Edge waits to see who is going to get in the ring first. It looks like The Undertaker is starting off first so Edge tells Mysterio to go in first. However it isn’t Taker who starts but Eddie gets in so this confuses Edge. Rey and Eddie start it off. Edge now better hope when he gets in the ring he faces Eddie and not The Undertaker. Rey and Eddie start with a handshake and this doesn’t go too well with Edge. They lock up and Rey uses his speed early but Eddie takes Rey down with an armdrag. They continue to exchange holds as Rey runs into Eddie and Eddie counters with a tilt a whirl backbreaker. Eddie goes for a cover and gets a near fall. Eddie hits a suplex. He goes for a leghold but Rey kicks Eddie into the ropes and teases an early 619 only for Eddie to escape. Rey gets a sunset flip on Eddie for a near fall. Rey connects with the head scissors and then makes the tag to Edge. Edge wants Rey to lift Eddie up and Edge goes to the ropes and hits a clothesline. Nice double team move. He goes for a cover but Taker steps in and looks at Edge and Edge breaks up the count as he wants nothing to do with Taker. This was the only time Rey and Edge worked as a team, throughout the match they were constantly arguing and not working as a team. Edge starts assaulting Eddie in the corner. Eddie fights back with a right hand and delivers a back suplex to Edge. Eddie makes a tag to the Undertaker and Taker steps in and Edge immediately rolls out the ring. He wastes time and the ref starts the count. Rey instructs Edge to get back in and fight. He wants to tag Rey in but Rey told Edge to get in and compete. Taker has had enough waiting and goes right after Edge who Edge runs back in and starts laying the boots to Taker. Edge goes to the ropes and attempts a clothesline but Taker grabs Edge by the throat. He goes for a chokeslam, Edge elbows out and gets a clothesline on Taker.

Edge starts to mock The Undertaker and even does Eddie’s taunt. Taker sits up and Edge stomps away at Taker to keep him down. He whips Taker to the ropes and Taker counters with a huge flying clothesline. He goes old school on Edge and goes for a pin and gets a near fall. Taker delivers the snake eyes in the corner and as Edge staggers out to the middle of the ring, Taker nails him with a huge boot to the face. Edge tags Rey and doesn’t want anything to do with Taker anymore. Rey gets in and looks like we will see Rey vs Taker now, however Taker extends his arm to Eddie for a tag. So now it’s Eddie vs Rey again. The match goes back and forth with several near falls. Rey and Eddie are the legal men and Edge and Taker end up brawling on the floor. Taker starts stalking Edge to the back until Kane comes down the ramp and starts brawling with Taker allowing Edge to escape. Edge gets back in the ring in his corner. Kane and Taker continue brawling. Paul Bearer shows Taker the urn and tries to pull him away from Kane. Taker goes for a swing on Kane and accidently nails Paul. Kane retreats to the back as Taker goes after him while Paul Bearer is still down on the floor. Paul Bearer is back up and goes to the back and that's the last we see tonight of Taker, Kane and Paul Bearer. In the ring Eddie delivers his Three Amigos Suplexes on Rey and was poised for the finishing Frog Splash but Edge runs in throws Eddie to the floor. Eddie is hurt. Mysterio yells at Edge and asks him what is he doing. Edge fires back and says, he would have beaten him and he wanted to stop it. He orders Rey to go after Eddie. Rey doesn’t listen and waits for Eddie to get back in.

Edge decides to tag himself in and goes after Eddie on the floor. Edge sends Eddie into the ring post and throws him back in and pummels him in the corner. A whip is reversed and Eddie sends Edge into the buckle and Edge falls down. Eddie is also down but he has no one to tag. Edge is back on his feet as he exchanges punches with Eddie. Edge delivers the edge-o-matic and gets a near fall. He makes the tag to Rey as Edge holds onto Eddie. He wants Rey to go to the ropes and nail Eddie. Rey goes to the ropes for a spinning heel kick, Eddie moves out the way and Mysterio accidently gets Edge in the face. Edge is down on the mat. Eddie rolls Rey up and Rey kicks out at two. Edge is back up on his feet by holding on the ropes and goes in his corner and he is furious. He knows Rey made a mistake there as that was an accident because last week Edge accidently speared Rey. Rey reverses a whip and sends Eddie hard into the buckle. As Eddie is now by himself, Rey doesn't want to capitalise on the momentum. Instead he waits for Eddie to get back up. Rey is being a sportsman here. Edge yells at Rey and asks him what the hell is he doing, he wants Rey not to give Eddie a chance. Rey goes for a whip and it’s reversed and Eddie gets a backdrop. Eddie goes for a crossbody but Rey moves out the way and Eddie hurts his knee. Rey doesn’t go for a cover and checks on Eddie. This pisses Edge off and yells at Rey that Eddie is playing tricks, He’s lying, cheating and stealing. Rey thinks Eddie is really hurt. Edge yells at Rey to tag him and Rey continues to check on Eddie. He yells again and tags himself in and assaults Eddie. Rey stops Edge and Edge shoves Rey down who falls out the ring through the middle ropes. Edge goes outside the ring and gets a chair. The ref tries to get the chair off Edge but Edge shoves the referee down the mat. The ref calls for the bell and disqualifies Edge.

Winners by Disqualification: Eddie Guerrero and The Undertaker

Edge has snapped. Edge picks up the chair and is about to nail Eddie with a chair but Rey takes chair off him. Edge gets in Rey’s face and Rey goes to check on Eddie again. Edge picks up the chair and nails Rey across the back with a chair. He yells at Rey and tells him that he’s had enough of him. Their friendship is over. Edge continues to assault Rey until Eddie saves Rey but Edge kicks Eddie on the bad knee and hits the spear on Eddie. Edge then hits the edgecution to Rey on the steel chair. Edge raises his arm in the air and gets booed heavily by the fans. Eddie and Rey layed motionless on the mat as the boos for Edge get even louder. Smackdown goes off the air with Edge standing tall over Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Smackdown Review

Personally I loved Smackdown, every single second of it especially the opening of Smackdown starting with that Edge-Rey segment and personally I love that Edge is turning heel, he doesn't need Rey as a friend, he doesn't need Eddie as a friend, and he doesn't need the fans at all because I agree with Edge. The fans booing him when he is taking out his obstacles in order for him to be WWE Champion, if the fans cannot understand that, then they don't deserve to be in the same arena as Edge and Edge you don't need to respect the fans either. Rey is like a bug who won't go away and I have to admit that for their match at Judgment Day I cannot wait for that because I want to see Edge tear Rey apart. Who knows maybe he might just get his shot at the WWE Championship soon

RVD backstage segment talking about how Booker turned on him and how Booker would regret it with RVD beating him at Judgment Day, it's not going to happen

Johnny Nitro becoming the new #1 Contender for the Cruiserweight Championship just shows that he is on the rise here in the WWE, and I love the fact that JBL got involved in this 8-man Cruiserweight Texas Tornado Match by being on commentary and then JBL laying out the Cruiserweights just shows that they are not on par with JBL at all and he is superior to them all

Kane beating Rhyno, I love it, as it just shows the type of monster Kane truly is, and he is the one with all the momentum right now going into Judgment Day

JBL backstage segment with him challenging 4 cruiserweights, challenging the World at Judgment Day just shows how he is going to dominate this match. JBL deserves way much better competition than this

The Undertaker-Eddie segment I loved it a whole lot especially with Paul Bearer there, and Kane showing up on the screen, loved it

Booker T is right, every partner who he has ever been partners with, he has gone on to become more successful, and he will prove it by becoming WWE Champion as soon as he beats RVD and I believe him when he says that he will

Cena & RVD beating Booker T and Val Venis was the right move as it shows that they both have momentum coming into the PPV into their respective matches

The vignette with that strange man, I don't know who he is, but I am really intrigued by who it could be, maybe a mystery man getting involved with this Taker-Kane feud, I don't know, but I always welcome new superstars

Backstage with all the cruiserweights and them putting their differences aside to beat JBL, I cannot see it happening, they will all implode allowing JBL to win

Hurricane beating Kidman, alright match, wasn't that bad but what I love is the fact that Dawn Marie is going to manage both Kidman and London, basically sets them up to become a heel tag team with Hurricane & Moore becoming faces with Torrie

Edge turning heel at the end of the night, I am definitely feeling it especially the part with him snapping on Rey hitting him with the chair and hitting Eddie with the chair just solidifies Edge as a heel at this point. Only bigger and better things for Edge now, and Taker accidentally hitting Paul, I can only smell something bad is going to happen like maybe Paul Bearer turning heel some time soon

Overall great Smackdown and I cannot wait until RAW!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Smackdown Review

Very good opening segment. I liked the build for the Mysterio/Edge match. It was well written and very believable in the context of the characters. I'm also looking forward to the Booker T./RVD match. "Judgment Day" is unfolding nicely and this entire show really helped pique my interest in your PPV. There was a lot of action in your cruiserweight #1 contender's match. A little erratic in places but overall you handled it pretty good. Not a big fan of Nitro winning the match, but I'm hoping you'll make a believer out of me come "Judgment". Kane/Rhyno felt a little too short, even for a television match. It was decent enough but it seemed like it would have been easy to flesh the match out a bit. The JBL segment immediately following was awesome however. I like where you're going with Layfield.

The Taker/Eddie/Kane segment played out beautifully. I love the little bits of dialogue you gave Undertaker. I can hear those words coming from him and it sets up the three way match perfectly. The Booker T. dialogue was average at best, but the tag match that followed was well scripted. I was never a big fan of Cena but pairing him with RVD for this match simply worked. I can't stress enough that I love how you build your pay-per-views. You understand how to develop rivalries and keep them going strong until the PPV event hits and that's always an integral part of creating readable stories involving the WWE.

Chavo Guerrero's bit with the other International cruiserweights was a bit on the perfunctory side, but that's to be expected. You want a hot and heavy heel JBL going into the PPV so you don't really need to build up the faces that much. It works better with JBL grabbing the lion's share of the pre-PPV goodies, so to speak. The Kidman/Hurricane match was good, but it lacked that big time feel of a match used to set-up the main event (i.e. warm up the crowd for the meat of your show). I understand the reasoning behind not wanting two tag team matches ending off "Smackdown", but really I think the Cena/RVD vs. Booker/Venis wouldn't have overwhelmed the main event. Probably would have given "Smackdown" a bit bitter flow on this occasion.

I'm interested to see how you use Dawn Marie with the Kidman/London tandem. The Edge/Rey backstage segment helped psyche me up for their tag team main event and the match itself was everything you could want out of a 2004 episode of "Smackdown". Edge turning on Rey had an almost premeditated feel to it, but that didn't hurt the main event in the slightest. Rather, playing into those expectations seemed to have the reverse effect and made me enjoy the match more. If this had been an actual episode of "Smackdown", I would certainly have watched it when it aired. I'll definitely be following to see where you take things from here.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

WWE Raw
May 3, 2004

Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcome us to the show. Chris Jericho’s music hits as he makes his way down to the ring. Jericho is handed a mic. Jericho tells all his Jerichoholics that he’s in a bad mood tonight. Last week, that creepy little bastard Christian stole his way to victory and tonight he has a title shot. Now that pisses him off. So Jericho issues a challenge to Christian to a match next week. This brings out Christian who makes his way down to ringside and grabs a mic. Christian tells Jericho that tonight is going to be the biggest night of his career. He’s waited for this opportunity for a long time. He was telling his peeps that the days of Chris Jericho, HHH and Shawn Michaels getting title shots is over and now it’s his time. He certainly took advantage of it last week, he proved that it’s his time and tonight he’s going to become champion. He’s going to go out there and celebrate with his peeps. As for Jericho’s challenge it’s not going to happen next week. He doesn't need to prove anything to Jericho anymore because he's better than Jericho. As he’s going to win the title tonight, next week he has better plans. He reminds Jericho a month ago, Jericho interrupted his live sex celebration with Trish. This time he’s gonna have his celebration with Trish again and what makes it even better is that he’s going to be champion. He got the girl at WrestleMania, he beat Jericho last week to get the title shot and now he’s gonna get the title. Christian starts laughing. Eric Bischoff comes down to ringside and now that Bischoff is here, Christian decides to get in the ring with Bischoff. Bischoff happens to agree with Christian. After what Jericho did the last time Christian was having sex with Trish, it’s about time Christian gets to do this again next week. He’s pretty confident that Christian’s gonna win the belt tonight so Bischoff refuses Jericho’s request for a match with Christian. However since Jericho is in action later on why wait till later when we can do this right now. He forces Jericho to compete against A-Train right now and A-Train makes his way down to the ring and the bell rings as Bischoff and Christian leave.

Match 1
Chris Jericho vs A-Train
Jericho is pissed off because Bischoff just turned down his request. Lawler points out that A-Train made his Raw return by being traded from Smackdown. On his return he defeated Jericho in a gauntlet match but that’s when Jericho got past 3 guys and A-Train was added to the match That time Jericho was not at full strength but tonight he has a chance to get his revenge on A-Train. Jericho tries to take his frustrations out on A-Train but A-Train controls early with some power moves. He starts pounding away at Jericho in the corner until Jericho comes back and takes the big man down. Jericho delivers an insiguri and gets a near fall. Jericho sends A-Train to the ropes and A-Train counters with a bicycle kick. He goes for a cover and Jericho kicks out at two. A-Train then gets a back breaker and gets a headlock on Jericho. Jericho fights out of it but runs into a back elbow by A-Train. A-Train lifts Jericho up and delivers a military press slam. He is manhandling Jericho. He goes for another bicycle kick but Jericho moves out the way and clotheslines A-Train to the floor. A-Train gets back in on the ring apron and Jericho knocks him back down to the floor with a springboard dropkick. Jericho goes right after A-Train and delivers a walls of Jericho to A-Train on the floor. The ref starts counting and Jericho lets go at 6. He rolls A-Train back in which could be a big mistake from Jericho. He could have won the match by count out but it seems like he wants to dish out punishment on the big man. Jericho takes down A-Train with a one-handed bulldog and goes for a lionsault but A-Train gets his knees up. A-Train delivers some right hands to Jericho in the corner. A-Train then delivers his sit down powerbomb and Jericho manages to kick out at 2. A-Train gets frustrated and whips Jericho hard to the buckle. He charges into him and nails him with a clothesline. A-Train sets up for the derailer, Jericho slips out and delivers the CODE BREAKER. Jericho scores the 3 count win over A-Train to win the match. Following the match Jericho decides to put the walls of Jericho on A-Train. A-Train is tapping out and the ref orders Jericho to let go and he does.
Winner: Chris Jericho

Backstage Teddy Long is standing by with Todd Grisham. Teddy was not pleased with what happened to him last week. He thinks Jazz is nothing without him and it will be a long time till she will ever wear the womens title again. He's now moving on and It’s about time he gets the respect he deserves on Raw.

Elsewhere Eric Bischoff is in the back and he’s on the phone to PAUL HEYMAN. Heyman told Eric that Vince McMahon just called him up and he’s going to come out here on Raw tonight to make a major announcement concerning both General Managers. He has no interest in Raw but he has been ordered to appear via satellite tonight when Vince makes his announcement. Eric told Heyman that he also has no interest in watching Smackdown, he’s too busy making Raw the number one show. Eric hangs up on Heyman and then seemed concerned, wondering why Vince is here and what the announcement is.

Eugene Training Session Week 2
This is the second week of Eugene’s training. The Rock first teaches Eugene a few catchphrases. Later on Eugene will be competing against Coach in the exhibition match. Now Regal informs Eugene that it was very frustrating for him last week to teach Eugene however Eugene did learn a lot. Now before Eugene has his exhibition match later on, Regal wants to teach him a few more technical and submission holds. He demonstrates a german suplex on Eugene. However Regal does not want Eugene to repeat this on him, he wants Eugene to do this on Coach. Regal then demonstrates some painful submission holds. Rock now wants Eugene to do the same to Regal. Regal wants Eugene to take it easy here and Eugene uses submission holds and he gets a bit too carried away and Regal screams in pain. The Rock then instructs Eugene to do risk taking moves. So again Regal has to be the dummy. Eugene does an axe handle, elbow drop from the top. dropkick, crossbody from the top. Rock tells Regal that’s it for him. Regal can now take a break. Eugene is now ready for the exhibition match. Regal will be the announcer and Rock will be the referee.

In the back Eric Bischoff just watched Eugene’s training session on the monitor. La Resistance storm into Eric’s office. Rene decides to be the first man to challenge Eugene in Eugene's first official WWE match next week. Eric agrees to it. Sylvan and Conway complain about last week as they deserved the belts but due to poor officiating they were disqualified. They want Eric to fix this mess right now. Eric lets them know he’s going to come up with a fair solution right now.

Match 2
Fatal 4 Way Match for the tag team titles
The World’s Greatest Tag Team (c) vs The Dudleys vs La Resistance vs Chuck Palumbo & Johnny the Bull Stamboli
Eric comes out on the stage and states that last week he announced an 8 man tag match but now he’s making a change because he can. This match will now not be an 8 man tag, it will be a sudden death fatal 4 way tag team title match. The first team to score a pinfall or submission will win the the tag titles. The champions do not have to be pinned. The other 3 teams seemed to love this announcement but the tag team champions did not like this announcement. Sylvan Grenier and Rob Conway are representing La Resistance tonight. The bell rings. Bubba starts off against Chuck. Bubba gets a right hand on Chuck, he sends Chuck to the ropes and gets a shoulderblock. Chuck fires back with a right hand and hits a hard clothesline. He tags in Stamboli who runs in and clothesline Bubba. Stamboli delivers a powerslam and Haas gets in for the save. Stamboli doesn’t like that so he ends up tagging Haas. Bubba decides to tag in Rob Conway. So now Haas goes at it with Conway. Haas gets an armdrag and follows up with a back body drop. Haas misses a charge and Conway starts stomping away at Haas. He sends Haas to the ropes and catches him with a knee lift. He tags in Sylvan. La Resistance start double teaming on Haas and Shelton decides to step in but the ref orders Shelton and Conway to go back to their corners. The action continues and now Stamboli and D-Von are in the ring. Stamboli gets a military press slam on D-Von for a near fall. D-Von comes back and tags in Bubba and D-Von hits the wazzup headbutt. Now Sylvan and Chuck are in and go at it. We get several near falls and plenty of breaking up of the fall in this. Each team hit their finisher but it leads to another team stopping the other from getting the fall. Haas is now in and scores a great german suplex on Chuck and goes for a cover but Bubba breaks it up. Shelton is then tagged in. The legal men are Shelton and Chuck and all hell breaks loose in the ring with all teams brawling. The Dudleys and La Resistance end up brawling outside. Shelton goes for a dive and takes out all four of team. This leaves Haas on his own against Chuck and Stamboli. Chuck and Stamboli hit a double powerbomb on Haas but he’s not the legal man. Shelton pulls out Stamboli as Shelton gets back in as Haas nails Chuck with a right hand and Shelton connects with an exploder suplex and goes for the cover and gets a 3 count. The Dudleys tried to make it in on time but couldn’t break it up on time. The World’s Greatest Tag Team retain the titles.
Winners: Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin

Eric Bischoff is in his office and he’s sitting there quietly in his room wondering what sort of announcement Vince will make tonight. Eric is worried thinking his job may be in jeapordy. Trish knocks on the door and this brings a smile on Eric’s face. Trish explains that last week Eric did not allow her and A-Train to be at ringside and they listened to Eric. This week she wants to be by her man’s side as he aims to become the champ. Eric grants Trish her request and decides to make the main event a no disqualification match. Trish smiles and says now that’s more like it.

In the back Todd Grisham is standing by Batista. Over the past 2 weeks Batista has been on a roll, beating the likes of The Rock and Chris Benoit. Up next he’s stepping in the ring with HBK. Batista reminds Todd that 5 months ago at Armageddon, he was defeated by HBK. Now tonight it’s time to get payback. 2 months ago Chris Benoit beat him and then last week he got the win back. So now it’s time for Batista to hurt another guy who’s becoming an obstacle in HHH’s path.

Match 3
Shawn Michaels vs Batista

Batista comes out first with Flair in his corner. HBK is out next and the match gets underway. Michaels looks around at Naitch and Flair yells whooo. They lock up and Batista shoves Michaels down. Batista starts flexing his muscles. They lock up again and Batista gets Michaels into a corner and goes for a right hand but Michaels ducks and gets a few right hands on Batista. They lock up again and Batista kicks Michaels to the gut. He knees Michaels in the abdomen and whips Michaels to the ropes and takes him down with a hard clothesline. He backs Michaels into the corner and delivers some knee lifts into the gut. Batista whips Michaels to the ropes, HBK gets a baseball slide and clotheslines Batista to the floor. Batista gets frustrated and Flair starts giving Batista encouraging words. Batista back in receives some knife edge chops from HBK. HBK attempts to whip Batista to the corner but he can’t seem to move him and Batista sends Michaels to the corner. He goes for a charge and runs into a boot. Michaels goes to the ropes and delivers a flying forearm and Batista kicks out at 2. Batista reverses a whip and drops Michaels hard with a spinebuster and Michaels kicks out at two. Batista delivers a suplex and gets a near fall. Batista drops some knees right to the lower back of HBK’s. Batista misses a charge and HBK goes to the top and delivers a standing moonsault and gets a two. Michaels gets an atomic drop and superkicks Batista who goes flying over the top rope. Batista is out cold and Flair gets Batista up and rolls him in at 8. The action continues as Batista and Michaels go back and forth.

Batista is again in control and Michaels comes back with a flying forearm. HBK kips up and runs to the ropes but Batista catches him and gets a bearhug. HBK is in real pain and manages to fight out of it. Michaels knocks Batista down with a clothesline and applies a figure four. Flair does not like this. Flair manages to pull Batista’s arm on the ropes while the referee didn’t see this. Batista is back in control and distracts the ref. Flair trips Michaels up. Michaels goes after Flair and Batista gets outside and delivers a lethal clothesline on Michaels. He rams Michaels back into the ring post and rolls him back in. Batista hits a sidewalk slam and gets a near fall. Michaels ducks a clothesline and gets a back suplex on Batista. He goes to the top and delivers an elbow drop and gets a near fall. Michaels tunes up for the band and goes for the superkick, Batista blocks and turns HBK around and lifts him up for the Batista Bomb. Batista has him up but decides to powerbomb Michaels to the floor. Unbelievable. The ref makes the count as HBK is lying motionless on the floor. HBK is unable to answer the count and Batista wins by count out. Batista poses in the ring as HBK gets helped to the back by officials.
Winner by Count Out: Batista

Backstage TWGTT are celebrating their win. Haas tells Shelton they did not expect to be defending their belts tonight but they did and they beat the top teams on Raw tonight. Shelton says now this proves they are the world’s greatest tag team and there’s more to come from them.

Mr McMahon is shown arriving in his limousine

Vince McMahon’s segment with Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman
VINCE MCMAHON’s music hits as Vince comes down to the ring doing his power walk. Vince gets a mic and has a major announcement to make. He calls out Eric Bischoff to the ring. He looks at the screen as he also wants to talk to Paul Heyman live via satellite. First of all he starts praising the General Managers. Eric Bischoff hired his nephew Eugene, who is a mentally challenged guy. This shows that the WWE is all about equal opportunities. He lets Eric know that thanks to Eric he’s now going to be nominated for a humanitarian award this year because Eric hired a mentally challenged guy to become a wrestler. Eric has a big smile on his face. Eric said is that what you’ve come out to say Mr McMahon? Vince tells Eric to wipe that smile off his face because he’s not done yet. Vince then brings up a few points about Paul Heyman. After being threatened and assaulted by members of his own roster, Paul still had the guts to stay on. He decided not to walk out and didn’t quit. He liked this sort of ruthless aggression from Paul. Therefore Eric and Paul’s jobs are safe. A sigh of relief for both GMS.However Vince tells them recently they’ve also been throwing their weight around and abusing their power a bit too much. For example Eric showing a lot of favouritism to certain stars. Paul’s treatment of The Big Show and many more. So Vince had an idea and wanted to see how Eric and Paul could cope on a different show. Paul asks what does Vince mean? Vince announced that next week for the first time ever on Raw, Paul Heyman takes charge of RAW. Eric Bischoff was livid. Eric butts in and says “Mr McMahon you can’t do that, the fans love me being here.” Fans booo loud. “Come on Vince you hired me here for Raw and i’ve done a great job here. I’ve been a General Manager longer than Paul. Don’t let him run Raw next week. He will ruin Raw. He doesn’t know how to run Smackdown, he can’t even control his own stars, he’s going to turn Raw into Smackdown. I don’t want him to turn Raw into a second rate show.” Paul fires back and said Smackdown is the number 1 show, it has the better stars also also has cruiserweights which Eric once had in WCW. Vince told them both to shut up.

He told Eric it’s not permanent, it’s one off but if Paul’s going to be running Raw next week, then Eric gets to run Smackdown next week, the final show before Smackdown’s Judgment Day ppv. Heyman then starts complaining because he’s really put together a solid ppv and doesn’t want Bischoff to ruin the last show heading into Judgment Day. He pleads with Vince to change his mind, he’s changed Smackdown around completely and made it better than his daughter Stephanie. Vince was the one who hired him and he aims to make Smackdown the number 1 show in the WWE. Vince told both men to calm down. If Paul doesn’t run Raw next week and Eric doesn’t run Smackdown next week then the following week they’re going to hear the same thing he’s told a lot of other people in the past. "YOU’RE FIRED!!!"Vince drops the mic and leaves. Eric and Paul look concerned and Vince starts raising his arms in the air on the ramp as he leaves to a great ovation. You don’t cross the boss and now next week Paul Heyman for one night only has to take charge of Raw and Bischoff takes charge of Smackdown.

Backstage HHH applauds Batista for his win over HBK. HHH said he was in a bad mood all week because now again he has to wait to his rematch. He was going to make a statement tonight but now he's not going to do that and waste his energy. Now that Vince made his major announcement, now the game will get his title shot and he's going to make sure it happens next week. With Paul Heyman in charge next week, HHH is going to get what he wants why... because he’s that damn good.

Match 4
Intercontinental Title Match
Randy Orton (c) vs Garrison Cade
Garrison Cade makes his way down. Orton’s music hits as he make his way down. He is back in action after a two week rest off in ring action. For the past two weeks he had confrontations with The Rock and the hall of famer Harley Race. Orton gets a mic and tells Cade that last week Ric Flair taught Cade a lesson and tonight Cade has a big opportunity to win the IC Title. Orton gives his reasons why Cade doesn’t deserve a shot. 1)He’s done nothing relevant so far in the WWE to get a title shot. 2)A few months ago, he stole the bounty with his tag team partner off him, he tried to outsmart him but at the end the money was back in Evolution’s hands. 3)He’s not in Randy Orton’s league. However as Cade wants to make an impact on Raw, he’s decided to be generous and he’s putting his IC Title on the line. He told Cade to look at greatness because he will never be as good as Randy Orton. The bell rings and Cade immediately takes it to Orton. Cade delivers a right hand to Orton and then gets a back body drop and Orton kicks out at two. Cade misses a charge and Orton backdrops him over to the floor. Orton then takes control of the match. Cade fights back and hits a bulldog for a near fall. He goes up to the top rope and misses an elbow drop. Orton then hits the RKO to win the match. Orton makes quick work of Cade. Orton celebrates and poses in the ring.

Winner: Randy Orton

Eric Bischoff meets Vince backstage. Eric pleads with Vince to change his mind. Over on Smackdown there are lunatics like The Undertaker, Kane and Edge and many more. Vince said this is final and if Eric has a problem with it and doesn’t take charge of Smackdown next week then he can easily replace him just like that. Vince tries to encourage Bischoff and decided to go ahead with it. He hoped that all the Raw superstars give Heyman a hard time. Heyman couldn’t control his Smackdown stars but Eric Bischoff knew how to control his Raw stars. Now lets see if Heyman can control his Raw stars. On Smackdown he’s going to do what Heyman couldn’t do on Smackdown and he’s going to do a much better job than him. Vince said he didn’t care what sort of matches Bischoff makes next week, as long as he takes charge and manages to do a good job on Smackdown. Eric said Heyman stole one of his old WCW concepts which he used for his Smackdown show. Now Eric states that he is going to use his very own Raw concept for Smackdown when he takes charge. Vince wanted to know what Eric is talking about? Eric asked Vince what’s the name of the concept in which you have to spin the wheel and whatever it lands on, that’s the match you compete in? Vince says it’s Raw Roulette. Eric says that’s right Mr McMahon next week for the first time ever on Smackdown we will see THE SMACKDOWN ROULETTE. Vince approved this idea and wished Eric the best of luck.

Eugene vs Coach Training Exhibition Match
The Coach shows up and The Rock starts mocking Coach. Rock warns Coach that this is an exhibition match and Coach is supposed to be the dummy. Coach is like what the hell he wasn’t told that. Rock says he was just messing around with the Coach. Coach starts smiling and thinks he can easily beat Eugene. They lock up and Eugene goes crazy on Coach, pulling out all sorts of wild moves. Eugene starts biting Coach. He delivers a headbutt. Coach gets a thumb to the eyes and slams Eugene. He starts showing off and gets some offense. Eugene comes back and acts like the Ultimate Warrior by shaking the ropes. He knocks Coach down with a clothesline. He goes to the top and delivers a double axe handle. He gets a claw hold and Coach gets to the ropes. Eugene gives Coach an aeroplane spin, followed by a stunner. He goes for a pin but Rock counts slow and Regal is like what the hell is Rock doing. Rock says no-no-no.... Not just yet. This isn’t going to end like this, he asks Eugene remember he taught him the Rock Bottom and Peoples Elbow. So Eugene hits Coach with the Rock Bottom and then the peoples elbow. Eugene made the cover, Rock made the count, 1..2...3 and it’s over. Eugene has won his exhibition match. Rock then talks on the mic mocking the Coach. He tells him this is a message to Coach's boss Eric Bischoff. This is now the 2nd week of Rock's suspension. When he comes back on Raw in 3 weeks he's going to lay the Smackdown on Bischoff, Coach and Evolution's monkey asses. If Ya Smellllllllllll what the Rock is cooking. Regal believes Eugene is now 100 % ready.

Backstage Chris Benoit is standing by with Todd Grisham. Benoit first talks about Christian and he promises to make him tap. Now Benoit turns his attention to next week’s Raw show which will have Paul Heyman in charge. Benoit remembers his time on Smackdown and how Heyman treated him. Heyman believed Benoit would never make it to the top but now he is on top. When he won the Royal Rumble, he knew Heyman would make his life miserable and this is why he seized the opportunity to go to Raw. Then he went on to achieve his dream by winning the title at WrestleMania. He is really looking forward to seeing Heyman next week, now it’s his chance to rub it in his face. If Heyman decides to stack the odds against him next week then he will prove him wrong again.

Main Event
World Heavyweight Title No Disqualification Match
Chris Benoit (c) vs Christian

Christian makes his way down with A-Train and Trish. A-Train is holding on to his back selling his injury from Jericho earlier on. Christian requests for a mic. Tonight is a huge night for him and he tells all his peeps that next week will mark a new era in the WWE. They will be celebrating the era of the new world heavyweight champion Christian. Benoit’s music hits as he makes his way down to the ring. Lawler points out that for the first time since becoming champion, Benoit was defeated last week in a non title match. Will Benoit lose again tonight? Benoit looks over and he’s outnumbered here as A-Train and Trish are out here. The bell rings and Christian starts talking trash and taunts Benoit. He shoves Benoit and Benoit shoves him back knocking him down. Christian gets immediately back up and Benoit takes him down with an arm drag. He whips Christian to the ropes and catches him with a knee lift. Christian rolls out the ring and Trish and A-Train start firing Christian up. He gets back in and they lock up and Christian gets a knee to the gut and takes Benoit down with a snapmare. He goes to the ropes and delivers a dropkick to the back of Benoit. He goes for a cover and Benoit kicks out at 1. Christian again goes for a cover and Benoit again kicks out at 1. Christian delivers a suplex and gets a near fall. Christian goes for the unprettier but Benoit counters into a crossface but it’s near the ropes and Christian holds on to the ropes. Benoit starts delivering some vicious knife edge chops to the chest of Christian. Again Christian gets frustrated and rolls out, Benoit follows him out but A-Train stands in Benoit’s way. Benoit gets in his face and Christian jumps Benoit from behind. He throws Benoit back in and takes control of the match. Christian gets an abdominal stretch on Benoit but Benoit manages to make it to the ropes.

Christian goes for a sleeper hold and Benoit’s arm drops at 1, it drops again at 2 and before it drops down for the third time he hangs in there and fights out of it and drops Christian with a back suplex. Benoit hits a snap suplex and gets a near fall. Benoit goes to the top for a headbutt and misses as Christian rolls out the way. Christian scores with a reverse ddt and gets a near fall. He goes for a boston crab. Benoit tries to make it to the ropes but Trish pulls the ropes up. Benoit is screaming in pain but isn’t giving up, Benoit manages to counter and rolls Christian up for a near fall. Benoit gets an inside cradle and Christian kicks out. Benoit perches Christian to the top rope and delivers a superplex. Both men are down as the ref counts, Benoit gets his arm over on Christian for a cover and gets a near fall. Benoit sends Christian to the ropes but Christian reverses as Trish pulls the ropes down sending Benoit to the floor. A-Train and Trish stomp away at Benoit. Trish gets on the apron and hugs Christian as A-Train continues to assault Benoit on the outside. Chris Jericho runs down to the ring with a chair and nails A-Train across the back with a chair. Jericho repeatedly hits A-Train with a chair. Christian tries to sneak up on Jericho but Jericho turns around and Christian backs away. Jericho delivers the walls of Jericho on A-Train on the ramp and A-Train’s back is hurt bad. A referee comes down and helps A-Train to the back. Jericho makes his way down to ringside to even this up and he’s now in Benoit’s corner. Christian can’t seem to focus with Jericho being out there. Christian stomps away at Benoit in the corner and taunts Jericho. Jericho stalks Trish around ringside. She runs away from Jericho and gets inside the ring and hides behind Christian. The referee instructs Jericho and Trish to get outside the ring and let this match continue on. Trish and Jericho get back outside the ring.

Benoit ducks a punch from Christian and hits a series of german suplexes on Christian. He then goes to the top for the headbutt and connects. He goes for a cover and Christian kicks out at two. He attempts another german suplex but Christian gets a lowblow. Christian hits the unprettier and goes for a cover but Jericho puts Benoit’s foot on the ropes. Christian is furious. Jericho gets on the apron and Christian starts arguing with Jericho. Benoit rolls Christian up and Christian kicks out at 2. Benoit delivers another german suplex and then goes for a sharpshooter. Christian pulls forward and wisely makes it to the ropes. Christian reverses a whip and sends Benoit hard into the turnbuckle. Trish grabs the world title and throws it in to Christian. Benoit staggers back up as Christian’s about to nail the title belt but Jericho grabs the belt from Christian. Benoit grabs Christian and gets the crossface in the middle of the ring. Trish tries to make the save but Jericho stops her and puts her in the walls of Jericho at the same time in the ring. Jericho’s laughing and Christian has no choice but to tap and Trish also taps. Benoit wins. Jericho hands Benoit the title and Jericho backs up the ramp and watches Christian whine and complain to the referee. Well it was no disqualification. Trish is screaming in the ring. Christian throws a tantrum in the ring and Jericho taunts Christian. He yells no sex celebration now junior. With Paul Heyman in charge next week, will Jericho get his match with Christian? Benoit celebrates in the ring as Raw comes to an end.
Winner: Chris Benoit

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

RAW Review

I loved RAW as I enjoyed watching every second of it especially the opening with Christian, Jericho, and Bischoff with Christian saying how he is going to become World Champion and that there is nothing that Jericho can do about it and that he was going to have a live sex celebration after he wins the title, and Jericho wanting another match against Christian but not getting it

Chris Jericho vs A-Train, awesome opening match with Jericho winning but A-Train had the win there, but fast-paced match-up

Eugene training session I didn't really care for it but it at least builds up Eugene to be a great singles wrestler being trained by both Regal and the Rock

La Resistance coming into Bischoff's office and Rene challenging Eugene to his first official match, I love that idea

Teddy Long backstage segment I loved that, Jazz is nothing without him, and he will prove that when he moves on to bigger and better things

WGTT retaining their titles in a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match for the World Tag Team Championship was a very good match, my high of the night if anything. They had the odds stacked against them and they still walk out champs

Trish & Bischoff segment backstage with Trish trying to be there at ringside for when her man Christian is facing Benoit for the World Heavyweight Championship, and then Bischoff instantly agrees to make it a NO-DQ match, I loved that segment, another high of the night for me

Batista destroying HBK with that sick Batista Bomb sending HBK on the outside, that injury looks pretty serious with HBK having to be sent to the back being helped out by officials. I just hope HBK is not put out of action because of this because he had that back injury that kept him out for 4 years, and Batista knew that and he injures HBK. But nonetheless it was a great match, and it only builds Batista up to be a main eventer here on RAW, so I am all for it

Vince's announcement with the GMs switching shows, I love it, it will be an interesting concept to see Bischoff run Smackdown and for Heyman to run RAW, I am all for it, great segment, my best high of the night by far

HHH backstage segment with him congratulating Batista, and then saying how with Heyman running RAW he will easily be able to get his title shot now because he is The Game and he is that damn good, I love it, and HHH putting over his protege I love it

Orton beating Cade to retain his IC Title, I love it, Cade put up a good fight but Orton winning with relative ease just shows me that Orton is on the rise here, and that Cade is nowhere near his level at all. Only bigger and better things for Orton.

Eugene winning his exhibition match against The Coach only puts Eugene over as a singles star, I love it, and I cannot wait until Rock's return either

Benoit retaining his title in a hard-fought match-up against Christian, I loved it, especially the fact where Jericho got involved to even up the odds for Benoit and Trish trying to help Christian only to be caught in the Walls of Jericho, I love it, Christian taps in the Crossface and Trish tapping to the Walls of Jericho, I loved it. Benoit is still the World Heavyweight Champion, and the fact that he gets to confront Heyman next week will make it even better. No live sex celebration for Christian, junior!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall great RAW show and I cannot wait until your Smackdown episode!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

The Smackdown stars were in action this past weekend at a live event. This event took place in Eddie Guerrero's hometown in El Paso Texas. Eddie Guerrero finished his match and then after his match he was talking about what Edge did to him and Rey Mysterio. Eddie promises that he will make Edge pay for what he did. Eddie then called his family down to ringside. A few minutes later Kane shows up and attacked Eddie and started to frighten Eddie's family. Kane made Eddie's wife and kids cry. Eddie vowed to get his revenge on Kane this week on Smackdown. Footage of this incident from this event will be shown to you this week on Smackdown.
The next Smackdown show will be a lot promo heavy to build up Judgment Day. A lot of the matches except the main event will be quite short.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

WWE Smackdown
May 6, 2004
Michael Cole and Tazz begin the show and explain what happened on a Smackdown Live event this Sunday night. Footage is shown of a house show this past weekend in Eddie’s hometown El Paso Texas. Eddie Guerrero is in the ring talking about what Edge did to him and Rey. He promises that he will make Edge pay for what he did. Eddie then started to talk about his rise to the top and said his family are his biggest supporters. Eddie’s family are at ringside. He calls his wife Vickie and his daughters in the ring. Mother’s day is coming up so he wants to honour them for this special day. Eddie’s mother is shown in the front row. He’s about to call her in the ring but Kane shows up and gets in the ring so Eddie tells his mum not to come into the ring. Eddie tries to protect his family but Kane said he’s not out here to hurt them. Kane stares at Eddie’s kids and they are terrified. Kane tells Eddie that he once had a family but he was never given the life that Eddie had, Eddie had fun but he never had fun. His life was full of pain, full of darkness and shadows. What he sees in the ring right now is something that makes him burn inside. It makes him angry. The Undertaker has brainwashed his father Paul Bearer and even that makes him angry. Kane has no one by his side but soon he will have everything he desires. He will have a family and the WWE Title. Kane drops the mic and goes for a right hand on Eddie but Eddie blocks and gets a few right hands on Kane. Kane ends up laying Eddie out with a boot. Kane hits a chokeslam on Eddie. Kane tossed Eddie to the floor and is about to go after him but is stopped by Vickie Guerrero. She pleads with Kane not to hurt Eddie. Kane has a change of heart and has a big smirk on his face. Kane then starts to terrify Eddie’s family especially his kids and yells at them in their face and tells them that he’s a monster and kids are afraid of monsters. He screams at Vickie and asks her is she afraid of him, is she. He starts shouting at her and Vickie and her kids starts crying. Kane tells Vickie that he’s gonna hurt Eddie real bad. Kane goes outside the ring and delivers a tombstone on Eddie on the floor. Kane looks at Eddie’s mother and has a big smirk on his face. Kane does his signature taunt and leaves. After a few minutes Eddie is back on his feet and checks on his kids. He is livid after what Kane just did, he made Eddie’s kids cry. Eddie’s mother is now crying. Eddie promises to get revenge on Kane.

Eddie Guerrero calls out Kane
The Smackdown video package starts and Eddie Guerrero’s music hits as the WWE Champion makes his way down to ringside and he’s not out here in a low rider. Eddie said tonight he was going to come out and talk about what Edge did to him and Rey Mysterio last week but he has an even bigger problem and that’s Kane. Eddie said you don’t mess with his family man, and after what Kane did this past weekend, he’s in the mood to fight. His latino temper is boiling esse and he’s going to kick some ass tonight holmes. He wants Kane in the ring right now. Paul Heyman is out on the stage and informs Eddie that match is not going to happen tonight because Kane is already in a match against The Undertaker tonight in a casket match. However next week Eddie will get the opportunity to face Kane but he won’t be in charge next week so Eric Bischoff will decide which type of match they will compete in. As for tonight he will not let Eddie compete in the ring, he knows how Eddie’s latino temper is like. Instead he’s going to make Eddie the special guest referee for the casket match between The Undertaker and Kane. If Eddie is not going to call the match down the middle then he’s going to have to strip Eddie of the WWE Title. However if he is provoked then he can retaliate back. Kane appeared on the screen and he’s in a dark room. He was laughing and told Eddie he really enjoyed what he did to Eddie’s family. He knows how to get inside the head of someone. By destroying Eddie’s lowrider was just a start. Then Eddie threw his mask away and that made him angry. Then this past weekend, he really enjoyed it when he made Eddie’s family cry. Tonight when he gets done with the Undertaker, next week he will destroy Eddie and at Judgment Day he will win the WWE Title. Eddie responds back and told Kane he made a big mistake to mess with his family and tonight he hoped that Kane provoked him so he can kick his ass tonight. He has a lot of respect for Kane’s brother The Undertaker but he does not respect Kane. He is not afraid of The Undertaker or Kane either. Kane may be evil, yes he may be demented but that his fury won't help him come Judgment Day. Eddie says it does not matter which brother he pins, at the end of the match he will still be WWE Champion. Kane laughs and told Eddie that he had his day in his hometown in El Paso this past weekend but tonight is Kane’s night. Tonight will be the day of reckoning for Smackdown.

Paul Heyman is in the back with Dawn Marie. Dawn said she’s looking forward to her match tonight and now that she’s managing London and Kidman, she also wants to take Val Venis to the top. Paul said it’s a great idea but Val may not agree to it because he is not the ladies man anymore. Dawn said she will make it work, she has her ways. Paul then talks about how different Smackdown will be next week when Eric Bischoff takes charge. This coming Monday on Raw he aims to deliver the best Raw show of the year and promised to make it better than what Bischoff did this year. He sends a message to the Raw stars he will be in charge of next week. He may have been disrespected on Smackdown, he may have been threatened, assaulted but that was the past. This sort of behaviour will not be tolerated on Raw. He’s going into another show and he’s not going to let others throw their weight around on him. On Raw he demands respect and he’s going to get it. He heard what Chris Benoit had to say about him and he’s looking forward to seeing him on Raw. Heyman announces his first Raw match for this coming Monday. A match which Bischoff turned down but now that he’s in charge he’s going to make it. The main event for this coming Monday will be CHRIS JERICHO vs CHRISTIAN in the first ever BARBED WIRE STEEL CAGE MATCH.

John Cena runs into Kane in the back. John Cena thinks what Kane did to Eddie's family was out of line. Cena hoped that Kane gets what he deserves and that's an ass kicking by Eddie Guerrero. Kane had a big smirk on his face and told Cena that tonight everyone on Smackdown will find out how powerful Kane is. Tonight he will change the landscape of Smackdown. Cena then cut a rap promo on Kane by mocking him, he thinks Kane is a weak monster who's not only ugly, he has no qualities to become WWE Champion. Just like Val's a thing of the past as he's never won a singles title since 2000, Kane's also a thing of the past as he's never been heavyweight champion since 1998. Tonight The Undertaker is going to tear Kane apart. Cena laughs and walks off and Kane just looks at him in anger.

Match 1
Rhyno and Tajiri vs Matt Hardy and Johnny Nitro

Tajiri starts off against Hardy as they trade holds at the start. Hardy gets the early advantage and tags in Nitro. Nitro gets a dropkick on Tajiri and follows up with a clothesline, Tajiri ducks and connects with a roundhouse kick on Nitro. Tajiri then takes control with a few armdrags, kicks and a high cross body. Rhyno is tagged in and delivers a powerslam to Nitro. He goes for a cover but Hardy breaks up the count. Mid-way into the match, the heels are back in control as Hardy delivers a swinging neckbreaker on Tajiri. He goes to the top for a legdrop and Tajiri moves out the way and makes the hot tag to Rhyno. Rhyno cleans house and clothesline Hardy. Nitro runs in and Rhyno delivers a shoulderblock. Tajiri is in and sends Nitro over to the floor with a buzzsaw kick. Hardy ducks a clothesline from Rhyno but Tajiri kicks Hardy in the face and Rhyno hits the gore on Hardy. Rhyno scores the 3 count for the win. Rhyno and Tajiri picks up the win and celebrate in the ring, they look at Hardy and Nitro and start taunting them. Rhyno and Tajiri get up on the top turnbuckles and raise their arm in the air.
Winners: Rhyno and Tajiri

In the back are The Undertaker and Paul Bearer. Paul Bearer warned Eddie Guerrero if he does not call the match down the middle then The Undertaker will deal with him tonight. If Eddie Guerrero even thinks about stealing his urn then he will suffer the consequences. Taker then says tonight Kane you will rest in peace.

Match 2
RVD vs Val Venis

RVD comes out first followed by Val. The bell rings and Booker T’s music hits as he comes down to do commentary. This has now become a distraction for RVD who’s staring at Booker. Booker looks at him and tells him he’s come here to not get involved, he’s doing commentary. Val wastes no time by jumping RVD from behind. Val gets a scoop slam on RVD and starts to get the early advantage. Tazz and Cole spend more time talking with Booker rather than focusing on the match. Cole asks why Booker is here and Booker says he’s here to observe his competition and that’s RVD who he’s going to beat at Judgment Day. Cole asks Booker why is he so sure and confident that he can beat RVD. Tazz tries to suck up to Booker and says simple Cole because Booker T is better. He believes that Booker carried the team. Cole stirs things up and said RVD was a great guy to turn on and he believes that RVD is better than Booker T. He’s already pinned Booker twice in tag team matches. The first time was in the lethal lottery tournament and the second time was last week. Booker gets angry and tells Cole he’s gonna drop RVD like a bad habit, he's gonna put him in his place at Judgment Day. All he's doing right now is observing my opponent.

RVD ducks a clothesline from Val and comes back with a spinning heel kick to the jaw of Val. RVD delivers some stiff kicks to Val and gives Val a big back body drop. RVD clotheslines Val to the floor. He looks at Booker and RVD does his signature taunt. RVD whips Val to the corner and delivers a spinning heel kick to Val in the corner and Val drops down to the mat. RVD follows up with the rolling thunder and gets a near fall. Cole asks Booker what if that happens to him at Judgment Day. Book says that simply isn’t gonna happen. He’s got better moves than Rob Van Dam. Booker T is the master of the spinaroonie. Book gets angry again with Cole and tells him that he asks a lot of stupid questions. Next month Cole should see where Booker T will be and where RVD will be and then we will see who’s progressed the most out of the two. Booker T is the number one star of Smackdown, he’s better than Van Dam and once he’s done beating RVD, he’s coming for the WWE Title. It doesn’t matter to him who the champion will be after Judgment Day, Booker T’s gonna beat him.

Val reverses a whip from RVD and catches him in a kneelift. Val goes for a sleeper and Booker T starts laughing at RVD. Fans start an RVD chant and RVD gets up to his feet and elbows out of it and clotheslines Val. RVD executes a standing moonsault but Val gets his knees up. Val then takes control again and delivers a suplex on RVD. He now goes for another one but this time hits a fisherman suplex and gets a near fall. John Cena comes down the ramp with a mic in his hand cutting a rap promo on Val as Val hits the Russian leg sweep. Cena calls Val is a thing of the past and at Judgment Day he is going to prove it when he hands Val his ass and retains his title. Val gets distracted and looks at Cena. Cena taunts Val and holds his belt up in the air and said you want some, come get some. He does his you can’t see me taunt. That’s enough for the distraction as Val turns around and RVD nails him with a spinning crescent kick. Booker T is like oh come on man, Val had the match won clearly. RVD goes up to the top rope and hits the 5 star frog splash. He goes for the cover and pins Val for the 3 count. Cena does his signature taunt and leaves. Val is furious and rolls out the ring and leaves. RVD starts celebrating in the ring.
Winner: RVD
Booker T gets a mic and said congratulations RVD, again you win but it was a fluke. Booker said last week was nothing but a fluke. RVD’s been lucky to get those wins over him but that was in tag team competition, but when they go one on one, he’s going to show you that he’s have always been better than RVD. He makes fun of RVD’s accomplishments and lets him know that RVD has never held a heavyweight title in his career while Booker has. Booker brags about his accomplishments. He was the most decorated star in WCW. He’s been a 5 time 5 time 5 time WCW champion sucka. He was even bigger than RVD in the alliance and the bigger stars of their tag team. What makes RVD think that he’s in Booker T’s league. RVD is handed a mic. RVD says after what Booker did to him, he’s going to make sure that the jokes on Booker when Booker is the one leaving on crutches. RVD says Booker is jealous of him and that is the real reason why Booker turned on him. Booker’s former partners may not have been successful as Booker but that all changes at Judgment Day when he beats Booker T. Booker T has yet to beat him. RVD claims that he did not hold Booker down, Booker wanted to hog the spotlight but it was all about team work and Booker didn’t want to be a team player. Now that they’re not a team anymore RVD promises to become a bigger star than Booker T. RVD said Booker T’s being running his mouth and complaining about not getting opportunities, well to get his opportunity he has to go through RVD but that’s not going to happen and Booker’s going to have to wait a little longer. RVD goes outside the ring near the announce table. He said he will prove to Booker that he was the better half of their tag team and that Booker T made a big mistake by turning on him. Booker responds back and says at Judgment Day he's not just going to beat RVD, he's going to destroy him, now can you dig that suckaaaaaaaaa. Booker grabs Tazz’s water bottle and throws water on RVD. RVD and Booker come to blows. Booker kneed RVD in the gut and ends up ramming RVD’s head into the ring post. Booker places RVD on the table and lifts him up. Booker T then gave RVD a Book end through the table. Booker gets booed heavily and Booker does a spinaroonie on the floor and leaves.

Footage is shown of Mr McMahon’s huge Raw announcement this past Monday. Next week Eric Bischoff will be in charge of Smackdown and it will be Smackdown roulette for the first time. Tazz and Cole say it will certainly be a historic episode of Smackdown next week. After what we just saw with RVD and Booker T and we’ve also got a lot more to come from this show, how will Eric Bischoff cope on Smackdown next week?

JBL is standing by with Josh Matthews. JBL is pretty confident that he can beat two men tonight. After he’s done beating Spike Dudley and Scotty 2 Hotty then Chavo Classic is next on his list and he will beat the hell out of him next week. Then it’s JBL vs The World, JBL guaranteed victory. JBL suddenly starts running down Rey Mysterio. He talks about how Rey should also be involved in this International Gaunlet match because JBL believes Rey is still a cruiserweight. He hasn't paid his dues to be above that level. He calls him the biggest lowlife immigrant on the Smackdown roster. Guys like Rey Mysterio should be still in school, he should get an education and not be in the ring. He has no business being out there. JBL says once he's done with these international cruiserweights at Judgment Day, he's going to send Rey Mysterio back to the cruiserweight division. Infact he will go even better, he will send him back to Mexico. JBL laughs and leaves.

Rey Mysterio calls out Edge

Rey Mysterio’s music hits as he comes down to the ring to a great ovation. A mic is handed to Rey Mysterio. Mysterio just heard what JBL had to say and if he has a problem with foreigners in the WWE then he should come and say it to his face and not behind his back. Rey believes he is more than worthy to hang with the big guys in the WWE. Rey hoped JBL gets embarrassed at Judgment Day by the International Cruiserweights. Rey then talks about last week. This whole week has been terrible for him because one of his best friends stabbed him in the back. After everything he did for him, visiting him more than anyone in the hospital, this is what he gets in return? He would have never thought that Edge would attack him and Eddie like that in the fashion he did. After what Edge did to him, it just shows Edge's true colors to Rey. He is not the Edge he used to know and that Rey considered Edge to be a friend. After what Edge did last week, he put an end to their friendship. Now Rey considers Edge to be his enemy and that he will beat the bitterness out of Edge. Edge just made this personal. He calls Edge a coward and that he waited all this time to turn on him when he should have done it a long time ago. Edge may have put Kurt Angle and Rikishi out but he’s not going to put Rey Mysterio out. He will teach Edge a lesson he will never forget. He’s going to make sure that Edge’s first ppv match since being back from injury ends in a painful defeat. Rey states that he’s going to be representing the Kurt Angles, The Rikishis and all these fans here. Rey wants a falls count anywhere match at Judgment Day. It doesn’t matter if the fight goes to the parking lot, in the crowd or in the ring, he’s going to beat Edge. Size does not matter here. He wants Edge to be a man and come out right now. Edge’s music hits and he’s not here. Rey said just like i thought, Edge doesn’t have the guts to show up.

Edge suddenly appears on the screen. He has a big smile on his face and gets booed heavily by the fans. Edge says how you doing Rey? After last week, a few fans came up to him and asked why Edge why? Why did you turn on one of your best friends Rey Mysterio. What has come into you Edge. Edge explained his actions and he had it up to there with Rey and last week he snapped. He was telling Rey for weeks not to get involved in his business but as Rey was his friend he decided to let it go. Last week Rey decided where his friendship lies when he made a decision, he made a choice and he choose Eddie Guerrero over him. That match marked the return of Edge and Rey Mysterio as a tag team, they held the tag team titles on one occasion. That match was going to end the problems between them but Rey became selfish. They had the match won, they had the advantage when Eddie was left in the ring alone. Rey didn’t want to capitalise on it. Instead of focusing on the match he was more concerned with Eddie. He let Rey off again when Rey hit him by accident. What made him snap was when he took the chair off him because that was when Rey made his decision. By pinning Eddie Guerrero he would have made a statement but Rey again came in the way. He was going to nail Eddie with a chair but Rey stopped him. Edge said he is proud of what he did, Rey Mysterio isn’t his friend. He is Eddie Guerrero’s friend, infact Rey just used Edge. Edge points out that now he has no weakness, he’s come back from injury and he has no friends. Now he can focus on becoming the number 1 guy on Smackdown. At Judgment Day he is going to make an example out of Rey. He won’t just beat him, he will put him on the shelf and that will teach Rey to never interfere in his business ever again. Screen goes blank. Mysterio then said at Judgment Day fans will be chanting 619, 619, 619. Mysterio’s music hits as he goes to salute his fans in the crowd. He signs some autographs for some fans in Mysterio masks. Suddenly a Mysterio fan in a Mysterio mask rams Rey’s head into the guardrail. He jumps over and takes his mask off and it’s revealed to be EDGE. What the hell. Edge starts assaulting Rey. He takes him out with a sick big boot with Rey falling flat on the ground with the back of Rey's head hitting the rampway really hard. Edge is still beating the hell out of Rey and then security runs down and have to pull Edge off off Mysterio and take him to the back. Edge raises his arms in the air and gets booed heavily.

Dawn Marie is in the back with Val Venis. Val is frustrated and Dawn wants to manage Val by guiding him to the US Title. Val lets Dawn know that he’s not the ladies man anymore. On Raw, women started rejecting him and this is one of the main reasons why he didn’t get a chance to shine on Raw. Ever since coming to Smackdown, he’s been on a roll. Cena just stuck his nose in his business earlier on and he’s going to get him back. Dawn says if Val decides to stick with her then he will be champion soon. She knows Val isn’t the ladies man anymore but he shouldn’t think like that. Dawn is very different to other women, she knows how to get the very best out of men. She likes Val’s new attitude. She thinks Val is more of a man than Cena. She tries to seduce the big valbowski and Val gives in. Looks like we have a deal.

Match 3
2 on 1 Handicap Match: Spike Dudley & Scotty 2 Hotty vs JBL
JBL starts off with Spike. JBL starts throwing Spike around in the ring. Spike tags Scotty who has better luck than Spike. Scotty gets a dropkick on JBL, he goes for a whip and knocks JBL down with a back elbow. Scotty goes for a whip again but JBL boots Scotty in the face. JBL misses a charge and Scotty tags Spike. Chavo, his father, Nunzio, Akio and Funaki are shown watching the match on the monitor. Spike and Scotty make quick tags which gives them an advantage. Scotty is in and goes for the worm and JBL kicks out at 2. Spike is back in and goes for the Dudley Dog but JBL counters and throws him to the mat. JBL sets up for the clothesline from hell but first knocks Scotty off the apron and delivers a vicious clothesline from hell on Spike. He pins Spike for the 3 count to win the match. JBL wins this but at Judgment Day he will be facing 4 men in a gauntlet match and that won’t be an easy challenge.
Winner: JBL

A vignette is aired of the mysterious person we’ve been seeing over the past couple of weeks. He states that the day of reckoning will soon be upon us. He will make peoples lives a living hell and they will fear him. They will pay for their actions. It ends with coming soon to Smackdown

Match 4
The Hurricane, Shannon Moore and Torrie Wilson vs Paul London, Billy Kidman and Dawn Marie

Cole and Tazz mention for the first time that over the past couple of weeks they’ve seen promos of this mysterious guy. They have no idea who he is, what he wants and why he wants to punish people. Whenever he shows up on Smackdown, we will find out what he means by the day of reckoning. London, Kidman and Dawn come out first, The tag champs and Torrie are out next The bell rings. The girls all brawl to start, and the guys separate them. Now Helms is in with London, they shove each other and trade holds. Helms gets the early advantage by hitting a dropkick, clothesline and a crossbody for a near fall. London comes back with a dropkick of his own, he follows up with a spinning heel kick. He tags in Kidman and London and Kidman double team Helms. Kidman takes Helms down with a facebuster and gets a two only. Mid-way into the match Torrie is tagged in and Kidman is in but men are not allowed to be there in the ring at the same time so he tags in Dawn. We get a cat fight again, Torrie gets a takedown on Dawn. A backslide gets a 2. Torrie does a handspring elbow into the corner and takes Dawn down with a bulldog. Dawn comes back and starts kicking away at Torrie. Now Moore and London are in. Moore delivers a moonsault off the top rope and Kidman breaks it up. Now Helms is in and he hits the eye of the Hurricane on Kidman but London breaks it up. Now the divas are tagged back in. Dawn ducks a clothesline from Torrie. She gets a roll up on Torrie by holding onto her tights for extra leverage and pins her for the 3 count.
Winners: Paul London, Billy Kidman and Dawn Marie

Paul Heyman is on the phone arguing with Eric Bischoff. Eric said he refused Jericho a match with Christian so Paul can’t do that. Paul said he’s in charge so he can, if he can do this then Eric should tune in to Raw next week and see what else Paul Heyman is capable of. He's not going to let Bischoff's stars bully him around. So far on Smackdown, almost all the stars have been out of control, now lets see if Bischoff is able to control them. He hopes that the abuse he took from the stars, Eric also ends up receiving some from the Smackdown stars next week. Paul hangs up on Eric.

Eddie Guerrero is shown wearing a referee shirt, Eddie walks down as we get ready for our main event which is NEXT.

Taker grabs Kane by the throat and gets back up on his feet and attempts a chokeslam but Kane elbows out of it. Kane sends Taker to the floor. They fight outside. Taker reverses a whip and sends Kane into the ring post. Taker rolls Kane in but places him near the ropes as his head sticks out the ring. Taker goes to the apron and drops a big legdrop on the throat of Kane. Taker dominates at the start but Kane comes back as he knocks Taker out with a boot. Kane delivers a sidewalk slam. For some strange reason he goes for a cover but Eddie lets him know that pinfalls don’t count in this. He goes to the top and delivers a big clothesline on Taker. He wants the casket lid open so Eddie goes outside the ring and opens the lid. Kane tries to roll Taker in the casket but Taker gets up immediately and starts fighting with Kane on the apron. Taker backdrops Kane inside the casket. Taker tries to close the lid but Kane manages to escape.

Midway into the match Kane is back on the offense. He delivers a chokeslam Eddie is now outside and opens the casket. Taker then hits a tombstone. He prepares to roll Kane in the casket. Taker’s standing on the apron as he’s about to slam the lid shut but suddenly from behind Paul Bearer levels Taker with the urn. Kane makes the first move by striking Eddie and now Eddie’s latino temper is starting to boil and Eddie and Kane come to blows. Kane hit him first so Eddie is allowed to fight back. Paul Bearer is back up and hits Eddie across the back of the head with the urn. Undertaker again is back up and tries to deal with Bearer and Kane. Bearer gets out the ring as Taker gets the snake eyes on Kane, and follows up with a big boot and then a leg drop. Undertaker finally hits the tombstone on Kane near the ropes. Eddie is still out cold so Taker is going to have to open the lid himself. Taker prepares to roll Kane into the casket but when he opens the lid, someone pops out and starts to attack The Undertaker.

Michael Cole: “What the hell, who the hell is this. How did he get in there whoever this guy is.” Tazz: “I think i know who this guy is, this has got to be the guy who’s mysterious vignettes we’ve been seen over the past couple of weeks. Remember Cole, in the promos he did say the day of reckoning is upon us and so did Kane earlier on. Taker tries fighting back but now Kane is back up and these two monsters start assaulting The Undertaker. Eddie Guerrero is now back up on his feet as he tries to make the save for Taker but Kane and that mysterious guy are too much for Eddie. Paul Bearer gives the urn to Kane as Kane whacks Eddie with the urn and Eddie laying in the ring motionless. Taker is down and Kane and that mysterious guy bring Taker to the apron and double chokeslam him into the casket. Kane slams the lid shut and he’s won the match. Paul Bearer locks the casket. Kane, Paul Bearer and that mysterious guy are celebrating in the ring. They stand near the ramp and Paul Bearer yells, you are not the most powerful entity in the WWE anymore Undertaker, Bearer then starts laughing as they leave.

Cole: “I just don’t understand why Paul Bearer did this. We saw the casket several times and nobody was in it. I just don’t understand how this guy, whoever he is got in there. What sort of connection does he have with Paul Bearer and Kane? Who can stop these guys. Next week Eddie Guerrero takes on Kane, i just can’t see Latino Heat getting past the big red monster Kane.”
Eddie stumbles back up to his feet and somehow opens the casket. Smoke comes out the casket and as Eddie opens the casket. The Undertaker isn’t inside it. Eddie is shocked. The Undertaker has suddenly disappeared. Smackdown ends with Undertaker’s music playing and The Phenom has disappeared.
Winner: Kane

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Smackdown Review

The opening segment with Eddie calling out Kane was awesome, and then Kane is saying how he loved torturing Eddie's family and that he got in Eddie's head and Kane shows up on the titantron in a dark room and Eddie wants to attack him so bad but GM Paul Heyman comes out and says he knows Eddie wants to get to Kane but he can't as Kane is already booked in a match against The Undertaker in a Casket Match, and he makes Eddie the Special Guest Referee for that match, awesome call, I am loving Smackdown already!!!!!!!!!

Paul Heyman backstage segment with Dawn Marie, I loved that, and then the message he said he was giving to all the RAW talent that he won't tolerate anyone trying to bully him around in any way, and that things may be different on Smackdown with the talent putting their hands on him but that on RAW it all changes and that there are certain superstars who he wants to see like Benoit, and certain superstars who want to see him, and Dawn Marie saying how she wants to take Val Venis to the top, I already am loving the sound of that!!!!!!

Rhyno and Tajiri beating Hardy and Nitro, good match, I loved it, a really good tag team match to start off the show!!!!!!!

Paul Bearer backstage segment with Taker, and Bearer warning Eddie that if he doesn't call the match down the middle, he will have Taker to deal with and that if he even tries to steal the urn, he will suffer the consequences, and Taker tells Kane that he will Rest In Peace tonight, awesome!!!!!!!!

RVD beating Val Venis in a back and forth match-up, this match-up I really enjoyed especially Booker T on commentary and Cole & Tazz with their back and forth with Booker, and Booker getting angry during commentary, I loved each and every single second of it. Especially Cena coming down to distract Val Venis by cutting a rap promo on Val and holding the title up for Val to see and then saying if you want some, come get some, which distracts Val long enough for RVD to get the victory. I loved it because Cena is in Val's head, and Booker T & RVD after the match with their back and forth with each other proving which guy would be the better guy out of their team, and Booker T attacking RVD by laying him out with a Book End through the table, loved it!!!!!!!

JBL guaranteeing victory, I believe in him when he says he will beat those cruiserweights at Judgment Day because they aren't in his league, and he will prove that by beating Spike Dudley and Scotty 2 Hotty

Edge-Rey Mysterio segment I loved that a whole lot especially Edge portraying a fan with a Mysterio mask on when Rey goes to salute one of his fans, only for Edge to ram Mysterio's head into the guardrail and jumping the guardrail to attack Rey and then take his mask off to boot. Edge attacking Mysterio when Edge was supposed to be on the titantron, brilliant move, really brilliant

Dawn Marie-Val Venis segment I loved it a whole lot, because now with her in his corner, I honestly can see him beating Cena to become the new WWE United States Champion

JBL winning the Handicap Match, really great move as this builds JBL up, I love that

That Mordecai vignette I honestly love it and I cannot wait for him to debut

The 3-on-3 intergender tag match with Torrie, Hurricane, and Shannon Moore facing off against Dawn Marie, London, and Kidman I loved the match especially with Dawn picking up the win for her team, great match

Paul Heyman on the phone with Bischoff, love that segment too especially the part where Heyman hangs up on Bischoff

Eddie being the ref for this Casket Match getting ready to go out there, loved that too

Great way to cap off Smackdown, great main event with Kane getting the win and Paul Bearer turning on The Undertaker, and the mystery man Mordecai and Kane attacking Undertaker and double-Chokeslamming him into the casket, and Bearer hitting Undertaker with the urn and also hitting Eddie with the urn, loved it!!!!!!!!

Great way to cap off Smackdown, overall great show and I cannot wait until Heyman's RAW!!!!!!!!!!!!

WWE Raw Preview
May 10, 2004

Tonight on Raw, Smackdown’s General Manager Paul Heyman is in charge for one night only. Paul Heyman has promised to make a major impact tonight on Raw. What sort of surprises will Paul Heyman bring to Raw? Will Paul be able to control the Raw roster?

Chris Jericho and Christian will finally settle their feud tonight in a 15 ft high barbed wire steel cage match. For the past three weeks, Christian has been involved in the main events of Monday Night Raw. Last week Chris Jericho cost Christian the opportunity of winning the world heavyweight title. Tonight there will be no outside interference as Jericho and Christian will end their heated rivalry in a dangerous match. Who will be victorious tonight? Will Trish and A-Train somehow manage to get involved in this match?

HHH has a plan and since Paul Heyman is in charge, HHH believes he will finally get his rematch for the world heavyweight title tonight. Will HHH succeed in his plan or will Paul Heyman ruin HHH’s plan?

Also tonight Eugene will be making his in ring debut but his Uncle Eric will not be able to see Eugene in action as he is not in charge. Will Eugene win his first match? All this and much more on Monday Night Raw.

Confirmed Matches
Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match: Chris Jericho vs Christian
Eugene’s Debut Match: Eugene vs Rene Dupree

WWE Raw
May 10, 2004

Paul Heyman and the Raw Roster
Raw opens with Paul Heyman in the ring and we see almost the entire Raw roster outside the ring. The fans boo Heyman heavily. Paul welcomes us to Raw and lets the fans know that he’s in charge tonight. He didn’t want to be out here on Raw but he was forced to by Mr McMahon. Now he is going to make the most of it. It is going to be a historic night.. He already announced the main event for tonight’s show on Smackdown as Chris Jericho and Christian settle their score in a 15 ft high barbed wire steel cage match. He looks at A-Train and berates him and bans him from ringside for the cage match. Heyman allows Trish to be at ringside. She tries to seduce Heyman and wants him to change the match to another match. Paul’s having none of that and the match is still on. On Raw he’s not going to let people take advantage of him. HBK wants Flair or Batista in the ring tonight and Paul states that HBK is not making the matches tonight, he is so he will decide who he faces tonight. Evolution’s music hits as they make their way down to the ring. They shake Paul’s hand and try to suck up to him. Evolution taunt HBK. HHH is actually glad to see Heyman out here. They’ve never really had a proper conversation. With Evolution on Raw, Paul won’t have to worry about being attacked and threatened, this is the big leagues. As Bischoff would once say in WCW, this is where the big boys play. Paul may have been treated like crap on Smackdown but on Raw things are different. Paul asks where is this going? HHH says Evolution are the biggest stars on Raw. All he wants is a title shot. Ever since he lost his world heavyweight title at WrestleMania, he’s never had the rematch he deserves. The whole world wants to see HHH vs Chris Benoit one on one. Chris Benoit comes down to the ring and gets a mic handed to him. He holds up the world title in HHH’s face and then goes over to Heyman and taunts him. Benoit discussed his time on Smackdown and how Heyman treated him. No matter what obstacles he put him through, he proved him wrong and ended up becoming world champion at WrestleMania.

Paul Heyman fires back and said Smackdown is the # 1 show and the WWE Title is the main title, a title Benoit failed to win. He took the easy way out and jumped to an inferior brand and become champion. Smackdown simply has no place for backstabbers. HHH stirs up trouble and reminds Heyman that Benoit, along with Cena washed Heyman’s mouth out with soap. The best way to get back at Chris is to end his dream by taking his title off him. That’s right Evolution is your solution Paul. He wants his title shot tonight. Benoit’s reign will come to an end and he along with Heyman will have the last laugh. Heyman tells Evolution that the worst thing that he hates in the world are ass-kissers, and he sees through what Evolution is trying to do. HHH may have thought with him being in charge it would be easy to get a title match but no it’s not. So no HHH won’t get his title shot tonight. Orton sucks up to HHH and tells Paul, you do not talk like that to the game HHH. Evolution try to put their hands on Heyman but Heyman says that if they even think about threatening him or harming him in any way, shape, or form then he will see to it that Evolution are suspended. Heyman asks Orton if he gets suspended just like The Rock, then he will be stripped of the Intercontinental title. Now would Orton want that? As punishment for Evolution trying to bully him around, he’s decided that all Evolution members will be competing tonight. He sets up a tag match between Batista and Ric Flair vs Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. Randy Orton will face Shawn Michaels and that match will be next. As for HHH and Chris Benoit, they will be teaming up tonight as they will take on the rest of the entire Raw roster that are not involved in matches. So it will be a 2 on 11 handicap elimination match. Heyman warns HHH that he doesn’t want none of that crap what he pulled with HBK many years ago when HBK laid down for him. So HHH or Benoit can not lay down to lose this match on purpose, neither can they walk out on each other. If they break his rules then HHH is suspended and Benoit will be stripped of the world title. HHH complains and Heyman said he’s calling the shots tonight and he’s sent the message across to everyone. Paul wanted everyone to clear the ring because up next is Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton.

Match 1
Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton
The match starts with both men exchanging right hands, HBK blocks a right hand from Orton and whips him to the ropes and delivers a back drop. Michaels takes Orton down with a headlock and Orton manages to get up and fight out of it. Orton takes Michaels down with a clothesline and follows up with a dropkick. Orton goes for a chinlock and now Michaels fights out and whips Orton to the corner and clotheslines him to the floor. Michaels dominates at the start until Orton gets a knee to the gut and comes back. Orton then takes control and hits a ddt for a near fall. Orton delivers an inverted headlock backbreaker on Michaels and gets a 2. Orton sends Michaels to the corner and goes for a charge and Michaels moves out the way and Orton goes into the buckle. Michaels rolls him up for a near fall. Michaels gets a few knife edge chops on Orton and follows up with a crossbody for a near fall. Michaels delivers a suplex and then goes up to the top as Orton gets up. Michaels hits a moonsault and Orton just kicks out at 2. Orton and Michaels go back and forth. The match wasn’t that long. As soon as Michaels tunes up for the band and sets up for the superkick, Orton pulls the referee in the way and the ref gets blasted with the superkick. Michaels checks on the ref and tries to revive him, Orton from behind knees Michaels to the back. Orton then goes for the RKO, Michaels counters and throws Orton down. Michaels then plants Orton with the superkick and Orton goes flying to the floor. The ref is back up and disqualifies Orton. Orton holds onto his chin and backs up the ramp as Michaels celebrates in the ring.
Winner by Disqualification: Shawn Michaels
Backstage Paul Heyman is in Bischoff’s office and just when he’s about to remove Bischoff’s photo, Coach shows up and says wait Paul don’t do that. This is not a good start for Coach. Coach greets Paul. He lets him know that he was Eric’s assistant so tonight he’s here to help out Paul. Raw is not an out of control show like Smackdown. Paul told Coach first of all he’s going to do what Eric told someone to do in WCW. He wants Coach to throw Bischoff’s framed photo in the trash can. Coach begs Heyman not to make him do this. Heyman does it himself and laughs. He tells Coach he doesn’t need an Eric Bischoff ass kicker like Coach. So he gives Coach the night off tonight. Coach is not pleased with this. Heyman puts his own picture up and says so far so good.

Christian and Trish confront Jericho in the back. Christian is furious after what Jericho did last week, he had no right to interfere in his business but it all ends tonight. Jericho ruined his moment last week, today was going to be his big day as champion. He was going to have live sex with Trish but it’s not going to happen tonight and Jericho is responsible for it. Christian doesn’t want a barbed wire steel cage, they can settle it without a cage. Trish tries to seduce Jericho so Jericho can change his mind and settle it in a regular match. Jericho calls her a slut and vows to beat the hell out of Christian in the 15ft high barbed wire cage. For what he’s been through over the past couple of months, he’s going to get his revenge tonight. It’s one on one and no one will interfere. He’s glad that Heyman didn’t ban Trish from ringside because he wants to see Trish’s man get destroyed right infront of her own eyes. After tonight, Christian won’t be able to rise to the occasion if you know what i mean Trish. After tonight Christian will never everrrrrrrrr be the same again. Jericho leaves and Christian and Trish look concerned.

Match 2
Tag Team Title Match
The World’s Greatest Tag Team (c) vs Batista and Ric Flair
Flair and Batista come out first. The tag champs come out next. TWGTT have been on a roll and so has Batista. Haas starts off with Flair. They lock up and Haas outwrestles Flair in the early going and Flair gets frustrated. Flair pokes Haas in the eye and sends him to the ropes and hits a back elbow. Flair delivers a suplex and gets a near fall. He tags in Batista. Batista hits his power moves on Haas. Flair and Batista make quick tags and isolate Haas in the corner. Flair gets a backdrop on Haas. Flair goes for a kneedrop but Haas moves out the way and tags Shelton. Shelton takes Flair down with a clothesline and follows up with a dropkick. Shelton and Flair trade punches and now TWGTT trade quick tags and work on Flair. The match goes back and forth until Batista is back in and takes control again. Batista and Shelton go at it now, Shelton misses a stinger splash and Batista then gets a bearhug on Shelton. Shelton tries fighting out of it and moves closer near his corner and somehow manages to get his arm across to Haas for the tag. Haas comes in and TWGTT hit a double clothesline on Batista. They hit a double dropkick and send Batista to the floor. Batista is back in and takes Haas down with a big clothesline. He tags Flair. Flair chops away at Haas in the corner and sends him hard into the corner. Flair goes for the figure four but Haas rolls him up and gets a near fall. Haas comes back and hits a german suplex. He goes for a cover and Batista gets in and jumps Haas. Shelton gets in and both teams start brawling. Batista misses a charge and TWGTT dump him to the floor. TWGTT finish Flair off with the superkick/german suplex combination for the 3 count. TWGTT pull off a major upset win. The tag champs roll outside the ring and celebrate. Flair and Batista are furious, especially Flair and Batista calms him down. The tag champs head up the ramp and taunt Flair and Batista. Ever since coming to Raw, this is Haas and Benjamin's biggest victory on Raw.
Winners: Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin

HHH barges into Benoit’s locker room and they have a staredown. Benoit is ready to fight but HHH tells him he’s not come here to pick a fight tonight with Benoit. They have to team up tonight and for one night only they need to get along. He doesn’t like Heyman’s decision, he wanted his rematch against Benoit but he didn’t get it. Now tonight they need to be on the same page. Benoit doesn’t trust HHH at all and tells him he doesn’t like Heyman’s decision either. Heyman can put him through every obstacle but he will prove him wrong. He did so by entering first in the Royal Rumble and went on to win it. Now along with HHH he has to take on 11 guys and hoped HHH lives up to his end of the bargain. Benoit says HHH is trapped tonight because he can’t lay down or walk out. Once this is out the way then he’s going to shut HHH up once and for all because he’s sick and tired of seeing HHH whining and complaining about his rematch. HHH thinks Benoit is afraid, afraid to lose his belt to the game. When he gets his rematch against Benoit, it will be game over for Benoit. HHH walks off.

Regal is looking for Eugene and he’s hiding somewhere. Finally he finds him. He asks Eugene is he is ready tonight and Eugene says yes Mr Regal i’m ready. Regal tells Eugene not to get scared, he will have all the fans supporting him. Eugene wants to know where his Uncle Eric is and Regal said he’s not here tonight, so Eugene must do well tonight. Paul Heyman confronts Regal and informs him that Eugene must go out by himself tonight. Tonight Eric won’t be able to see his nephew Eugene make his debut. Regal will have to watch the match in the back. Just to make it fair, Sylvan Grenier and Rob Conway will not be at ringside. Regal pretends to feel angry but as Heyman walks off Regal has a big smirk on his face. This is a good way for him to get rid of Eugene. Regal instructs Eugene that he’s good at learning. After the training he received from him and The Rock, he expects Eugene to go out there and steal the show.

Match 3
Eugene vs Rene Dupree

Rene Dupree comes out first and talks on the mic. He states that he will not be embarrassed tonight, he calls Eugene a joke. He will show him that the WWE is not for him and he should stay at home and play with his toys. Eugene gets an entrance theme and he comes out to a great ovation. He greets the fans and gets in the ring. He looks nervous. Regal is not out here to give him instructions so Eugene has to somehow be able to manage by himself. The bell rings and Dupree starts laughing at Eugene and Eugene starts running around the ring. Eugene runs the ropes just like the Ultimate Warrior and Dupree starts getting confused so he runs at Eugene and Eugene knocks Dupree down with a clothesline. Eugene starts jumping and claps. Now they lock up. Eugene takes Dupree down with an armdrag and Dupree is quite surprised to see Eugene take him down. Eugene starts posing like Hulk Hogan. Another lock up and Eugene takes Dupree down with a snapmare. Dupree is now getting frustrated. Eugene starts surprising Dupree with counters of holds until Dupree gets mad and works aggressive on Eugene. He starts hammering away at Eugene in the corner. He wastes time by doing his French tickler taunt. He goes for a whip, Eugene reverses and whips Dupree to the corner. Eugene delivers a handspring elbow to Dupree and takes Dupree down with a bulldog. Eugene impersonates Dupree by doing the French Tickler. The fans are really starting to get behind Eugene here. Eugene follows up with more moves like the drop kick, atomic drop, aeroplane spin, axe handle and goes for a cover and gets a near fall. Eugene gets a scoop slam on Dupree and then he imitates The Rock and hits the peoples elbow. He goes for a cover and pins Dupree for the 3 count and the upset victory. Eugene wins his first match, Eugene starts running around the ring and celebrates. He goes outside the ring and celebrates with the fans.
Winner: Eugene

A Maven returns next week vignette is shown

Christian meets Randy Orton in his locker room and asks for advice. He can’t get out of the match so he’s turned to Orton. Orton competed against Mick Foley in a hell in a cell match which involved barbed wire. Orton tries to focus on what Christian is saying but he can’t keep his eyes off Trish. Then he says sorry Christian what were you saying again. Christian then explains his issue. Orton said he doesn’t want to go back to that sort of environment but advises Christian to use Trish to his advantage because there is no way he can climb over the cage because Christian can get cut by the barbed wire. So the only way to win is by pinfall or submission. He has to get Trish to distract Jericho. If they end up at the top of the cage, Christian should use the barbed wire on Jericho. Christian and Trish thank Orton and as they leave Orton stares at Trish.

Match 4
11 vs 2 Handicap Match
HHH and Chris Benoit vs The Rest of the Raw Roster

Rico, Garrison Cade, The Dudleys, La Resistance, Rosey, Steven Richards, A-Train, Chuck Palumbo and Johnny the Bull all come out at the same time to the entrance music of the Raw theme. HHH is out next and waits outside the ring. Benoit comes down and taunts HHH. They are already arguing and Benoit tells HHH to get inside the ring. HHH wants Benoit to start first and Benoit starts it off with Rico. Benoit and Sylvan start this off. They lock up and Benoit takes it to Sylvan in the early going. Sylvan gets knocked down with a clothesline so he tags in Steven Richards. Benoit and Richards exchange holds, Richards looked for the Stevie kick but Benoit ducks and delivered a german suplex. He covers Richards and gets a 3 count to eliminate Richards. Johnny the Bull immediately attacked Benoit and hit a clothesline. He lifts Benoit up for a military press slam but Benoit slips out and rolls Stamboli up for the 3 count and Stamboli is eliminated. Now Chuck is in and hammers away at Benoit. Chuck misses a charge and HHH ends up coming in to pedigree Chuck. Benoit pins Chuck and Chuck is out. Rico is in and he taunts Benoit. Benoit prefers not to get in the ring with Rico. So he tags HHH. Rico tries to do his gay moves on HHH but HHH stops him and plants him with a pedigree and gets the 3 to eliminate Rico. Then HHH gets his ass whooped by the Dudleys. The Dudleys double team HHH in the corner. Everyone ends up getting their shots on HHH as a lot of tags are made. Garrison Cade is now in and HHH reverses a whip and nails Cade with the high knee. He makes the tag to Benoit who runs in and clotheslines Cade. Cade tags Conway and Benoit chops away at Conway in the corner. Conway comes back with a knee lift. Cade is tagged back in and Benoit makes him tap out to the crossface. Cade is eliminated. 5 guys have been eliminated and 6 more to go.

HHH and Benoit exchange tags and surprisingly they work well as a team. HHH holds Bubba and Benoit goes for a strike and accidently nails HHH. Bubba rolls HHH up and gets a nearfall. HHH and Benoit start arguing and shove each other, but realise if in the match they attack each other, walk out on each other then HHH will be suspended and Benoit will be stripped of the title. Bubba tags A-Train, Benoit is now in. A-Train pounds the hell out of Benoit. He hits his power moves. He goes for the trainwreck and Benoit slips out. Benoit goes for a crossface, A-Train is about to tap until the rest of the guys jumped in for the save. HHH gets in and tries to make the save and gets beat down. All hell is breaking lose in the ring. EVOLUTION RUN DOWN for the save and clear the ring. The ref can’t seem to control this match and throws this match out. Evolution help HHH up, Benoit is down. HHH points at Evolution to help Benoit up. Benoit is up and then HHH instructs Evolution to beat Benoit up. HHH smiles, the match is now over so now he can lay a hand on Benoit. HHH grabs the title and poses with the belt. HHH gets a mic and yells at Benoit and says this is his title. No one can stop him from getting his title back. After what he went through right now, he’s now mad. This has gone on for far too long now and when Bischoff is back next week, he demands his title shot. HHH then plants Benoit with a pedigree as Evolution stand tall over a motionless Chris Benoit.
Result: No Contest
Eugene is celebrating in the back with Regal. Regal is very impressed that Eugene went out there alone and won. Now Eugene’s uncle Eric will be very proud of him when he meets him next week.

Paul Heyman appears on the stage and says he’s actually enjoyed his time tonight on Raw. He certainly delivered. He just loved what he did by putting HHH and Benoit through a gruelling match. They were taught a lesson that they would never forget. Now he’s going to sit back and enjoy the main event.

A video package is shown of Christian and Jericho’s feud as the cage comes down.

Main Event
Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match
Chris Jericho vs Christian

Chris Jericho’s music hits as he makes his way down first. Christian makes his way down with Trish. No outside interferences tonight, for the first time ever in WWE history a barbed wire steel cage match. Christian is entering a match that has never been done before. He’s going to be trapped in there with Jericho. Lawler says there is absolutely no way these men will go over the top of the cage because of the barbed wire, the best option for both men is to win by pinfall or submission. JR points out that unlike the traditional cage, you can’t signal for the referee to open the door or walk through it because it is going to be locked. This is to prevent Trish from opening the door incase Jericho tries to escape and she slams the door on him. The bell rings and both men have a staredown. Shoving contest to start. Back and forth action at the start. Jericho getting the early advantage. No one has yet made an attempt to climb the cage. Jericho goes for the walls but Christian counters into a roll up and gets a near fall. Christian starts stomping away at Jericho and sends him hard into the corner. Christian delivers some right hands to Jericho in the corner and does the top rope 10 punch. Jericho counters at 7 into a atomic drop. Jericho delivers a running bulldog and gets a near fall. Midway into the match Jericho is trying to climb over the cage, what the hell is Trish doing, she’s trying to climb the cage. She stops halfway because of the barbed wire. She is just up there halfway to distract Jericho. Christian gets up and stops Jericho and delivers a back suplex and both men are down. Trish gets back down. Christian tells her not to try that again. Christian hits a reverse ddt and gets a near fall. He puts Jericho on the ropes and stands on his back holding the top rope. Christian starts stomping away at Jericho. Christian then gets a reverse chinlock and fans get behind Jericho as they start a Y2J chant. Jericho gets up and fights out of it and whips Christian to the ropes and delivers a flying forearm. Jericho goes for a lionsault but Christian gets his knees up. Christian is now back in control. Jericho sidesteps Christian and Christian goes head first into the steel cage. Jericho goes to the top rope and delivers a crossbody and gets a near fall. A running insiguri from Jericho gets a 2. Jericho goes for a suplex, Christian slips out and rolls Jericho up for a near fall.

Christian tries to climb the cage but he realises that there is no escape from the top as there is barbed wire everywhere. He tries to climb but gets cut on the arm. He goes for an axe handle but Jericho catches Christian with a right hand. Christian reverses a whip and places Jericho on the top rope and hits a tornado ddt. Christian gets another near fall. They continue going back and forth and end up fighting near the top of the cage. Jericho repeatedly rams Christian’s head into the razor wire and Christian has been busted wide open. Jericho delivers a suplex from near the top of the cage on Christian. Both men are down. Christian has hurt his back and is screaming in pain. Both men are up and Christian is holding his back, Jericho chops away at Christian and takes him down with a bulldog. Jericho finally hits a lionsault and goes for a cover and Christian kicks out at 2. Now Jericho is getting frustrated. He throws Christian into the cage from one end to another. Christian is being viciously assaulted here. Jericho whips Christian into the corner and goes for a charge and runs into a boot. Christian goes to the second rope, but Jericho runs to the ropes and hits a springboard codebreaker. What a move. That was the move that put Christian out at Backlash. Both men are down and Jericho is too hurt to cover right away. He crawls over and only gets a two count. This match is such a brutal contest. Both men are taking it to each other. Christian ends up exposing the turnbuckle pad and attempts to ram Jericho’s head into the exposed buckle, Jericho puts the breaks on, He sends Christian into the buckle and Christian drops down. Jericho locks in the walls of Jericho. Christian’s back is already hurt bad and he is trying to fight his way out of this but Jericho applies more pressure. Christian has no choice but to tap. Jericho wins. What a match. Jericho gets a huge ovation. Jericho celebrates as the cage is being raised. Trish gets in to check on Christian. Jericho looks at Trish and mocks her. Trish is very upset and Christian is hurt bad. Trish helps Christian to the back. Jericho may have lost the battle and the girl at WrestleMania but he’s certainly won the war.
