Smackdown Review

I am so glad that this is back...it's been so long since I've seen this BTB here but now that it's back I can honestly say that I am happy for the most part

Triple H becoming the new #1 Contender for Eddie Guerrero's WWE Championship...Triple H winning the 20-man over-the-top rope battle royal I have to say honestly it was the right call that's for sure because you have to admit Triple H was the favorite to win this battle royal and not to mention his feud with Eddie has been teased for a while now but since Triple H will be facing Eddie at No Mercy for the WWE Championship, I wonder if Eddie's title reign is in serious jeopardy here? Because he has never faced Triple H one on one especially with the WWE Championship on the line but Eddie has proven to be a fighting champion overcoming the odds over and over again but this may be the toughest test Eddie has ever had

But why did Jericho attack Rey like that? Especially clocking him with a steel chair? All I can say is Why Jericho Why?

Big Show making his return in the Battle Royal and makes his presence felt just cleaning house, I honestly thought Show would win but he goes after the man who puts him on the shelf that being Val Venis, I certainly get that and it seems JBL has stuck it to Taker yet again setting up Taker vs JBL at No Mercy like it is pretty much inevitable at this point

Can't wait until Carlito Caribbean Cool makes his debut, 2nd generation superstar son of Puerto Rican wrestling legend Carlos Colon here is hoping Carlito gets a push as soon as he debuts

But I am loving the Cena/Booker T feud and I can definitely see these 2 going at it over the WWE United States Championship at No Mercy as well and if it happens then so much the better

Orton claims that he's better than Kurt and he will prove it this Sunday at Unforgiven. Tonight it's about Evolution, the most elite group in WWE history. It's about how Evolution shows that they are the most dominant force on Raw. There's no stopping Evolution and they will beat Team Angle tonight. Angle fires back and tells Orton that he should be worried because the youngest reigning heavyweight champion's reign is going to be cut short. Angle says he's the real deal, he's a legitimate olympic world champion. He works his ass off every night to be the best. Angle vows to take Orton down and he will make him tap. Angle adds that he's going to snap that ankle. Orton thinks Kurt doesn't intimidate him at all. Orton's going to add Angle to the legend killer hitlist. The business is in his blood and he is the Evolution of this business. After Unforgiven is over, the world is going to learn that the three most dominant letters on Raw aren't the 3 I's, they're RKO. When he drops Kurt with the RKO, Kurt may be needing neck surgery again. Orton's music plays as he holds up the world heavyweight title and taunts Kurt Angle.

Out goes the Kliq, in comes The Christian Coalition. The crowd boos Christian. Christian claims that he's more athletic, more charismatic than Shawn. He's even better looking than Shawn has ever been and that's why Captain Charisma has the hottest babe in the world. Christian's music hits and Shawn Michaels runs down and brawls with Christian. Michaels goes for the superkick, Christian ducks it and lowblows Michaels. Christian delivers the unprettier and stands tall celebrating over Michaels.

Backstage Todd Grisham interviews Chris Benoit. Tonight Benoit faces the big red machine Kane and then this Sunday, Benoit goes up against Evolution's animal Batista. This could be the most difficult week of Chris Benoit's wrestling career, two tough challenges ahead for the rabid wolverine. Benoit says he backs down from no challenges. When he was the world heavyweight champion he successfully defeated Batista and Kane in singles matches. Tonight he's going to kick the hell out of Kane. Now this Sunday it will be two crazy angry animals butting heads like two wild animals. It's the rabid wolverine against the animal. At Unforgiven he's going to make Batista tap out. Benoit feels more than determined to win the world title back and his time will soon come again. Once he's done going through Batista it doesn't matter for him who the champion is after Unforgiven, the gold will be back around Benoit's waist.

La Resistance are inside the ring with Coach. Coach talks about the tag team title match at Unforgiven. Since La Resistance were robbed last time they faced Regal and Eugene, they want him to be the special guest referee for their match at Unforgiven. Coach thinks he's the perfect guy to call this down the middle. Sylvan agrees and Conway thinks Regal and Eugene shouldn't even be the tag team champions but it will change this Sunday at Unforgiven when the belts come back to La Resistance. They get interrupted by William Regal and Eugene. Regal tells La Resistance to stop whining like babies, everyone knows that Coach will not call the match down the middle. Everyone knows that La Resistance don't play by the rules. Both teams argue and Eric Bischoff comes out and cuts them off. Bischoff thinks the idea of Coach being a referee this Sunday is a great idea. The crowd starts to boo. Eugene comes up with an idea and Bischoff laughs at Eugene and wonders what kind of wacky idea Eugene has. Eugene says Superfly Jimmy Snuka is one of his heroes and he wants to fly off top off the cage, he wants to hit the superfly splash. Bischoff thinks Eugene has lost his mind and asks him what does this have to do with all of this? Eugene had no answer for this but Regal whispers in Eugene's ear and begins to understand what Eugene means.

Eugene gets excited. Regal said Eugene is getting more smarter and he's come up with a match which won't have no outside interference and no crooked referee like Coach. Regal asks why don't the people here decide which kind of match they should have. Coach laughs this off and thinks that this is the most dumbest idea he's ever heard. These people aren't capable of deciding anythng like that, that's an important decision. La Resistance even agree. Bischoff says hold on that's not a bad idea at all. That's an interesting concept. Eugene says he wants to compete in a tag team steel cage match. The crowd pops huge for this. Eugene begs Bischoff to make this match. Eric says "what do you people say that these two teams wrestle in a 15 ft high steel cage match which has no outside interference. The crowd likes this decision. Bischoff says it's on. La Resistance are not pleased with this decision at all. Bischoff tells both teams that there are unique rules for a tag team cage match. There two ways to achieve victory, one by pinfall or both team members escape over the top of the cage and reach the floor. Bischoff adds that if for example Eugene was to escape the cage and hit the floor then Wiliam Regal would be in the ring alone with La Resistance. Eugene feels sad as La Resistance and Coach have a smirk on their face. Bischoff's music hits as he leaves the ring. Later on tonight William Regal will face Rob Conway.

Bischoff speaks about WCW and how he raided ECW talent to work for him in WCW. Now that Nova's here on Raw, he is now the third ECW star on the Raw brand that never worked for him in WCW. The other two being Rhyno and Tajiri, three superstars he should have signed when Eric was running WCW. RAW

I love that Team Angle all 3 members of Angle, Haas and Benjamin are reuniting especially here on RAW but at the same time they have to deal with Evolution that being the World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton, The Animal Batista and the Nature Boy Ric Flair but now it is a power struggle or it will be soon enough between these 2 groups that much is certain but at the same time since Unforgiven is this Sunday, just who will walk out of Unforgiven as the World Heavyweight Champion? Will it be Orton retaining his World Heavyweight Championship or will it be Angle who walks out of Unforgiven the new World Heavyweight Champion?

Christian seemingly seems to be getting better and better ever since coming back, and it seems his rivalry with Michaels has come to ahead and it will come to a head this Sunday because this rivalry has seemingly gotten personal fast and that is what I love, nothing but personal rivalries that especially hit the line of just being too personal but I definitely was not counting on the brawl after the match with Shawn attacking Christian only for Christian to leave Shawn laying, will he be able to do it again this Sunday when all is said and done?

Benoit sure as hell seems determined to get back in the World Heavyweight Championship picture and if he beats Batista this Sunday he very well could set his sights back on the World Heavyweight Championship but the fact that he has to face Kane before he faces Batista, what a way to stack the odds against Benoit

Regal & Eugene facing off against La Resistance for the World Tag Team Championship, especially in the Steel Cage, what a way to up the ante here, now this match I can definitely get behind because it was like one of those matches that I didn't care anything about but now that it's going to be in the cage then yes I am all for that

Loved Nova's debut only for the reason that I just hope that here on RAW he can become a huge star but provided that if anything he should have debuted on Smackdown because if he had then he would become or could become a bigger star over there than he ever could on RAW but definitely loved Nova going over because you didn't want to hurt the man with a clean loss in his debut so I see the need to build up his star fast but what I wasn't counting on was him being added into the mix for the IC Title

Can't wait until Edge returns, but something tells me that Edge is 100% and that he's ready to go but even if he isn't, I see him making some kind of impact, I can see him costing Angle the World Heavyweight Championship somehow continuing their rivalry until it ends definitively in a Hell in A Cell match

But the other matches I guess just didn't stick out to me as much except for Benoit vs Kane and the main event of Team Angle vs Evolution because I enjoyed them the most but also because it also just builds up more to Unforgiven and the other matches didn't necessarily do that for me I guess

And after Unforgiven, RAW doesn't have a pay per view until November considering after Unforgiven is Survivor Series, but after Unforgiven you have your Smackdown pay per view of No Mercy and then after No Mercy you have Survivor Series 2004

But even so I can't wait to see what you have planned as far as Survivor Series goes

But I really hope we get to see the implosion of Evolution or at least we get to see the seeds of Evolution destructing at Survivor Series leading up into the build-up of WrestleMania 21

WWE Smackdown | September 9 | 2004

In the battle royal, mid-way into the match, The Big Show made his shocking return and dropped several stars with chokeslams. The angry giant made a statement that he's back. The match continued on as HHH then went on to eliminate Rey Mysterio to win the battle royal and become the #1 contender for the WWE Championship Title. The Smackdown video package plays as the announcers welcome us to the show. Tonight a fatal four way match for the US title will take place between Rene Dupree, John Cena, Booker T and RVD. Plus we will hear from the WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero later on tonight.

The Big Show comes out to a great ovation. The Big Show talks about how it's great to be back. Jericho then walks away.

Eddie Guerrero is walking backstage as he's heading towards the ring. Up next we will hear from the WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero.

Latino Heat and The Game confrontation
Eddie Guerrero walks down to the ring as he comes out to a great ovation. No low rider tonight from Eddie. The crowd starts a huge "Eddie" chant. Eddie speaks about the pressure of being champion and how tough it is. The fact of the matter is for everyone that's supported him and been behind him all this time Eddie says gracias thank you orrale. Last week, HHH won the battle royal to become the #1 contender for the WWE Title. Eddie's looking forward to stepping in the ring against HHH. He's been waiting for this for a long time. HHH is one of the best in the business and at No Mercy we will find out who the best is. Eddie talks about overcoming top challengers but this is going to be his toughest challenge. HHH's music hits as he comes out to interrupt Eddie. HHH has a big smirk on his face and said he's impressed to see that Eddie has such a huge fan following here on Smackdown. Eddie's finally made it out of the minor league organisations and became a top superstar on Smackdown. With all this success story of Eddie, HHH is amazed how Eddie is lucky enough to be the WWE Champion. He tells Eddie straight up that a guy like Eddie is lucky to be champion and people like him don't deserve it. Someone like the game deserves it. HHH says all Eddie does is just entertain people. Eddie's just here to be an entertainer and all they do is chant Eddie's name. Crowd starts to chant Eddie's name. HHH laughs and says Eddie even manages to entertain him with his lying cheating and stealing. How does Eddie manage to get away with that stuff? HHH says he travels in limos while a guy like Eddie is good for riding in low riders only. That's his level. The crowd boos HHH. "Let's face it Eddie, you've been lying and cheating your whole life."

Eddie responds with "hey that's real good man, what's your point esse"? HHH says the point is that a guy like Eddie can't even be in the same ring with someone like Triple H because people like Eddie aren't meant to be in the same ring as him. He made it clear that Latinos aren't meant to be World Champions much less being the WWE Champion. That's why Eddie's jumping bean friend Rey Mysterio will never be a world champion. Against me amigo you are at a disadvantage and HHH claims that he can beat Eddie any day of the week. The crowd boos the hell out of HHH. HHH declared his intentions to become the WWE champion again. He claims that Evolution is on top of this business because over on Raw, Evolution is dominating and here on Smackdown, he'll have the WWE Title soon around his waist. Eddie gets serious and responds by saying "You don't talk about my rasa holmes. These people here are like my homies and my familia." Now many of his critics wrote him off that he would never ever become WWE Champion. Some said he's not big enough, not strong enough orrale and some said not smart enough. He's now paved the way for guys like Rey Mysterio, Chavito and many other Mexican stars who want to come here and have the dream of becoming the WWE Champion. For eight months he's proved that he still has that burning passion and desire to remain the WWE Champion. At No Mercy, the only thing HHH is going to take with him is an ass kicking by Latino Heat, Oralle Mi Rasa. Eddie and HHH go nose to nose and Eddie drops the belt down and here we go the fight is on. Eddie and HHH brawl, Eddie blocks a right hand from HHH and fires away with right hands. Eddie clotheslines HHH over the top rope and taunts HHH. HHH is furious as Eddie stares him down. Eddie then celebrates as the show goes off the air.

Wow I loved that Triple H/Eddie Guerrero promo because it was so intense and not to mention this is something that I could definitely see heel Triple H saying, so kudos to you on that and Triple H he may be Eddie's toughest competition to date because even though Eddie has beaten the best for over 8 months by being WWE Champion he is going up against The Game The Cerebral Assassin so Eddie better be on the top of his game

JBL vs Taker for No Mercy, I see this match being a Casket Match or a Last Ride Match

Rey Mysterio facing off against Chris Jericho, it seems that this rivalry is just heating up and from the looks of it it looks like it isn't slowing down but at No Mercy this will be the first time these 2 go one on one with each other and I for one can't wait

Big Show gets his revenge putting the man who put him on the shelf Val Venis on the shelf, that Chokeslam through the steel chair, that was sick, but oh so great, but now Big Show is feuding with Booker T and I for one can't wait to see their feud take off because Big Show he has been impressive ever since his return

Carlito Caribbean Cool, he's already growing more arrogant running down Smackdown superstars, that is just bound to get him in trouble especially talking that way about Taker, does he have a death wish?

Rene Dupree Frenchman as US Champion, I never thought that I would see the day but I can see Rene holding the title until at least Survivor Series or Armageddon and then he ends up losing the title

Following the match Christian began to mock Shawn Michaels until Michaels ran down and brawled with Christian. Christian outsmarted Michaels as he ducks the superkick and delivered the unprettier. Unforgiven Predictions

For the World Heavyweight Championship, Kurt Angle of Team Angle facing off against the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history as well as Evolution's Randy Orton, as for who wins this match, I am calling it Orton will end up retaining and how because I see Orton using cheap, underhanded tactics to win this match or if he has help, he will end up winning it because of Batista and Flair getting involved or Edge making his shocking return and costing Angle the title, either way Orton I see him walking out of Unforgiven still the World Heavyweight Champion

Shawn Michaels vs Christian, I am calling it Christian wins

Shelton Benjamin vs Ric Flair, Shelton Benjamin wins

Chris Benoit vs Batista, Batista wins

Charlie Haas vs Kane, Kane wins

WWE Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Match, Tajiri defending his title against Rhyno and Nova, I see Rhyno becoming the new WWE Intercontinental Champion

World Tag Team Championship, William Regal & Eugene facing off against La Resistance, I am calling it La Resistance will become the new World Tag Team Champions

WWE Women's Championship, Gail Kim vs Trish Stratus, Trish will beat Gail to become the new WWE Women's Champion

Default Re: WWE 2004: The Road to WrestleMania 21

As for Edge making an appearance at Unforgiven, that is to be expected and I would not be surprised if he ends up costing Kurt Angle the World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton with Edge getting involved while the referee is knocked out, Edge comes in and spears the hell out of Angle with Edge dragging Orton's body on top of Angle's with Orton pinning Angle 1...2...3 to retain the title

Then after that your next RAW pay per view before Survivor Series is Taboo Tuesday 2004 which is in October, Taboo Tuesday which is a fan voting pay per view so I wonder how you plan on putting your own spin on things before Survivor Series 2004

But as for Carlito Caribbean Cool making his debut on Smackdown I wonder who he will debut against or more importantly if Carlito will end up getting a push on Smackdown?

And as for Hurricane and Chavo making their returns, it is to be expected so there is really no surprise there
