Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Ya, i was thinking about that Edge thing until I read the last paragraph. Is lesnar and goldberg both gone? One thing I would have changed around this period was keep both for sure.

Your format lengthwise and formatwise is good, but use some colors or bold and underline, lots of black normal font paragraphs in continuation look monotonous. I like it you use images in between. The ending of the main event i would have wanted taker's team to pick up the win still it was okay.

One thing which is MOST sought in any BTB around this period is "How you are gonna book John Cena?". Will look to it.

WWE Raw Preview
May 3, 2004

Tonight on Raw Vince McMahon will be here as he is going to make a major announcement. We have been informed that Smackdown’s General Manager Paul Heyman will be appearing on Raw via satellite as Vince will have something to say to the General Managers of Raw and Smackdown. What will Mr McMahon’s major announcement be?

Last week Christian defeated three men to earn a world title shot tonight against the world heavyweight champion Chris Benoit. Will this be Christian’s night where he finally becomes the world heavyweight champion?

Also tonight Shawn Michaels will be in action as he goes one on one with Evolution’s animal, Batista. Batista has been on a major roll over the past two weeks with wins over The Rock and Chris Benoit. Will Batista claim another major win tonight?

Chris Jericho finally gets a chance to get his revenge on A-Train as they will go at it on Raw. The last time they were in action Jericho was involved in a gauntlet match which was won by A-Train. Will A-Train be victorious again tonight or will Jericho get his revenge.

Plus Randy Orton is back in action tonight as he will defend his Intercontinental Title against Garrisson Cade. Also footage will be shown of Eugene's training sessions with The Rock and William Regal. Eugene will be competing in an exhibition match tonight against The Coach. All this and more tonight on Monday Night Raw.

Confirmed Matches
World Heavyweight Title Match: Chris Benoit (c) vs Christian
Shawn Michaels vs Batista
Chris Jericho vs A-Train
8 Man Tag: The World’s Greatest Tag Team and The Dudleys vs La Resistance, Chuck Palumbo and Johnny the Bull
Intercontinental Title Match: Randy Orton (c) vs Garrison Cade

RAW Review

I absolutely loved RAW, it was so great, awesome from start to finish, probably your best RAW in a long time and The Highlight Reel probably the best segment of the whole show with all the KOTR participants, could be a sign of things to come Sunday for your KOTR PPV!!!!!!!!!!

La Resistance backstage with Bischoff, I loved it, but what I also loved from that segment was Bischoff making the match for Rene Dupree vs Shawn Michaels, should be a great match

Lita-Trish backstage segment another high for me

La Resistance retaining their World Tag Team Titles against Stamboli & Palumbo and also against The Dudleys, just shows that they are no fluke

The heel KOTR participants backstage I loved it

Regal-Eugene skit I didn't really care for all that much

Trish beating Lita just shows that Trish is on top of her game right now

And the HHH-Benoit confrontation I loved that a whole lot as well, another great segment

The faces beating the heels in the 8 man tag, I literally loved it, and then after the match everybody brawling but with Batista as the only man standing, Batista could be the one this Sunday

Evolution backstage was awesome as always

Bischoff and Heyman phone segments backstage are always the best and same can be said for Coach & Rock whenever they interact, and Rock always gets the better of Coach I love that

And HBK beating Rene, makes him a prime favorite to win the Battle Royal, could HBK do it again one more time and prove that he still has it???

Rock beating Benoit in a great main event, MOTY for me if anything, and then Evolution coming in and beating down on both Rock and Benoit, I loved that, and HHH posing with the title to end the show

Now I am really excited for Smackdown now and also for KOTR this Sunday!!!!!!!!!

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

i like how this is looking! the time period is a good time to do a btb. I liked how you put mini backstories/recaps for each main person/team/group for this. I also like how you made a mini montage for the roster. The rumble card looks great but i think you may be pushing cena to early. good luck with this and il be following

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Backstory

This will begin after WrestleMania 20. I was going to start from the Rumble but i decided to start after WM20. I won’t be doing full shows as I don’t have the time to write full shows. Would have been good if i did full shows with full promos/match writing but i just don’t have the time to write all that out. However i will try to get all the important info in my reviews. I hope that every show will entertain you. I won’t be writing up on Heat & Velocity but you may see some Heat/Velocity matches being mentioned on Raw or Smackdown. If there are some guys who I don't use on the main shows(lower midcarders) lets assume they wrestle on Heat and Velocity. I may end up using them on the main shows if I need them for a battle royal. The King of the Ring PPV will return in June and it will feature both brands. The draft will take place in July after the Vengeance ppv. I will just explain the changes that were made to the WM card.

Matt Hardy moved to Raw in November and Smackdown did not get a replacement. So Hurricane moves to Smackdown and competes in the cruiserweight division and also tags with his former partner Shannon Moore. When Benoit moved to Raw, they did not replace Benoit on Smackdown. First Hardy then Benoit, so Kane replaces Benoit on Smackdown and Kane can start his feud with Taker. Johnny Nitro makes his debut on the Smackdown brand, not on Raw.

The tag team title match at WrestleMania is a 2 falls 4 way match. 1st fall is for the Raw tag belts, the 2nd fall for the Smackdown belts. If a Raw team win the Smackdown belts they go to Smackdown. If a Smackdown team win the Raw belts they go to Raw. Haas and Benjamin won the 1st fall and won the tag belts and this means they are on Raw. Booker T was upset at losing the belts but the match continued as the 2nd fall began. RVD hit a frogsplash on Scotty 2 Hotty to win the tag belts. RVD and Booker lose the Raw belts but win the Smackdown belts. Booker was happy to win the gold but now he is on Smackdown with RVD.

After Kurt Angle's match against Eddie Guerrero, Angle was furious and throws a tantrum in the ring. Angle berates the referee and Edge's music hit as he made his return to the WWE. Edge runs down to the ring and goes right after Kurt Angle. Edge hits the Edgecution on Angle. Edge is about to hit the spear on Angle and Angle escapes. Edge signaled that he is coming for Angle. Backstage Edge cuts a promo and he said it's great to be back. He wanted to be part of WM20 and Edge reveals that Kurt Angle was responsible for Edge being out of action for more than a year. Edge said that Kurt almost ended his career but he didn't get the job done because he is back now and he's coming for Kurt.

Bradshaw turned on his partner Farooq at No Way Out. Then on Smackdown Farooq challenged Bradshaw to a match and Bradshaw cheated to win. The following week Farooq defeated Bradshaw in a lumberjack match. A week later Bradshaw became JBL(cuts pretty much the same promo as he did when he actually became JBL) + he added that he is better than Farooq and now as JBL he will move on to bigger and better things. Farooq came out and challenged JBL to a match at WrestleMania. JBL agreed to it but on his terms. They will face each other in the deciding match(as they are 1-1) No Holds Barred match and the loser is out of the WWE. Mark Henry is injured, in real life he was not back till December 2005 so I am taking him off the roster. Also after WM, Brock Lesnar quit the WWE and Goldberg has left the WWE.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

I wasn't reading WWE at this time yet as I started in 2005, but this should be interesting for me to read because I pretty much know everyone in your thread but not what they were like at the time. Anyway, I suggest you reduce the size down one because it's going to help the formatting and make more people appreciate your thread, as well as using less bolding. I suggest writing in the size/font of your results that were quoted for Wrestlemania XX, except only using bold sparingly.

I'll be reading Raw when it's posted and hopefully the formatting's a bit more approachable.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Thanks guys. Finally got the Raw show up. I'm not going to write the show in full promo form, it will be more of a recap. I just don't have the time to write full shows. Hope you still enjoy the show.

WWE RAW
March 15, 2004

Footage from last night shows Benoit winning the world title at WrestleMania. The announcers welcomed us to the show. Raw kicks off with the new World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit as he makes his way down to the ring. Chris Benoit said he had worked hard for this and finally he achieved his dream of headlining WrestleMania and becoming the world heavyweight champion. He did it by beating two of the best. Last night he made HHH tap. He truly had his WM moment last night. He knows everyone will be gunning for his world heavyweight title but he’s a fighting champion and he’s going to hold this title belt for a very long time. HBK’s music hits as he makes his way down to ringside. HBK congratulated Benoit on winning the belt last night and says Benoit deserved it. Shawn Michaels says that Chris Benoit hasn’t beaten him yet, he did not make him tap last night, he made HHH tap. So until Benoit doesn't make HBK tap, he's not the best. He's never beaten him. HBK beat him on Raw a couple of weeks ago. Michaels continued on by saying that Benoit may have won the belt last night but let him be the first to challenge Benoit for the world heavyweight title. HBK extended his hand and Benoit shook his hand and HHH made their way down to ringside.

HHH's music hits as he makes his way down to ringside. HHH grabbed the mic and said last night would have been the greatest night ever for Evolution but he was the only member of Evolution not to win and Benoit got lucky. HHH says he is the greatest champion ever and the greatest professional wrestler today. One match does not make you the best Benoit. HHH said he's been heavyweight champion on several occasions, he's retired a legend, he's competed in some of the most barbaric matches ever. He's headlined more WrestleManias than Benoit has and right now he wants his rematch. If there is anyone who deserves a rematch then it’s him, he gets the first shot and he wants it right now.

Benoit raised his title belt for HHH to see. Benoit says when he won the Rumble he decided to move to Raw to challenge HHH because he wanted to prove that he can beat the best and he did so that makes him the best. Benoit says if HHH wants a rematch so bad he will make him tap again. Michaels cuts in and says the last time he had a match with Hunter it ended in a draw. Now the match before that HBK defeated HHH. A few weeks before WM he beat Benoit and at WM, HBK did not tap, HHH did. So HBK should be the one who should be getting the title shot. HHH and HBK start arguing. Bischoff comes out and says if HBK and HHH really want a title shot so bad then tonight they will go at it one on one. No DQ. The final chapter, HBK vs HHH. The winner gets Benoit at Backlash. As for Chris Benoit, if he is calling himself a fighting champion, then tonight he will defend his newly won world heavyweight title against the legendary Nature Boy Ric Flair. HHH jumps Michaels from behind and sets him up for the pedigree but Benoit saves Michaels and goes for the cross face on HHH. HHH escapes and bails out of the ring and has a big smile on his face.

Backstage Bischoff welcomed the World’s Greatest Tag Team on Raw. He was glad to have them on Raw and he believed that they will achieve better success on Raw than they did on Smackdown. Infact he doesn’t give a damn about RVD and Booker T winning the Smackdown titles to go to Smackdown. Shelton told Bischoff that tonight they will show Bischoff why they are the best tag team in wrestling today.

Match 1
Tag Team Championship Title Match
The World’s Greatest Tag Team (c) vs Lance Storm and Val Venis

Shelton and Haas are making their Raw debuts. Val and Storm come out with two ladies. Shelton and Storm start the match off as Shelton takes Storm down with a double leg takedown. Storm fights back and works on Shelton’s arm and then whips Shelton into the corner and nails him with a spinning heel kick. Storm goes for a german suplex but Shelton counters and hits a german suplex of his own. Shelton tags in Haas. Haas gets a backdrop suplex for two. Storm comes back and makes the tag to Val. Val scores with a nice fisherman suplex but gets the count only. Shelton and Haas double team Val and they go for an overhead suplex which sets up the leapfrog choke for two. Val comes back and nails Haas with a right hand. Val plants Haas with a spine buster and gets a 2 count only. Val goes for a money shot and Haas moves out the way. Haas goes for the Haas of Pain and Storm breaks it up. Val finally makes the hot tag and Storm takes Haas down with an enziguri. Storm misses a charge and Haas tags Benjamin and WGTT hit a double team neckbreaker for a two count. WGTT then finish off Storm with a superkick-roll up combo to win the match.

Winners: The World’s Greatest Tag Team

After the match the ladies get inside the ring and slapped Val and walked out on him. Val was very disappointed.

Backstage Bischoff tells Austin that last night at WM was the last we will ever see of Bill Goldberg as his contract up and he is done with the WWE. Bischoff starts laughing and said he loved it when Austin stunned Goldberg to send him out. Austin told Bischoff to wipe that smile off his face or he’ll whoop his ass right now. Austin told Bischoff to get serious and informed Bischoff that outside interference will not be tolerated for the world title match tonight. Bischoff says that's fine and also tells Austin that the winner of HBK vs HHH will get the title shot at Backlash.

Match 2
Matt Hardy vs Spike Dudley

At the start of the match Hardy grabbed a mic and complained that he deserved a match at WrestleMania. Matt asked Spike that since Shannon Moore is on Smackdown, would Spike like to become his new mattitude follower. Spike said No and Matt kicks Spike in the mid-section as the bell rings. This match was quick and lasted 2 minutes. Matt dominated the match. Spike came back and went for the Dudley Dog but Matt blocks and throws Spike down. Matt hit the twist of fate to pick up the victory.

Winner: Matt Hardy

Backstage Randy Orton says last night Evolution humiliated The Rock and Sock Connection on the grandest stage of them all. Orton says he can beat Mick Foley or The Rock anytime, anywhere and any place. Foley is such a coward that he needed The Rock by his side at WM. Orton says he wants Foley in a one on one match. He guaranteed that when he means one on one there will be no outside interference but if Foley is man enough to accept then he will be waiting.

Christian makes his way down to the ring with Trish.
Trish explains why she humiliated and embarrassed Jericho last night. She wants everyone to see that footage from last night. Footage from WM is shown when Trish betrays Jericho. Trish says that all that time Jericho was mad about her and she wasn't interested in him at all. Trish said she wanted a real man and that’s Christian. Christian knows how to treat a woman right and Jericho is not her type. He is not in Christian's league. Christian says before he talks about Jericho, he wants to make one thing clear, he had nothing to do with Edge being attacked last year. There were rumours going around that Christian is jealous of Edge and he’s the one behind it but Christian said it’s a load of crap and he’s not a CLB. He says he’s better than Edge, he had a great year in 2003 while Edge was out for over a year. Now Christian says he’s got the girl now and now it’s Christian’s time to shine in the WWE. He proved last night he is better than Jericho by beating him and also getting the girl. Suddenly Chris Jericho jumped over the guard rail and attacked Christian. The crowd cheered as Jericho tried to lock in the walls of Jericho and Trish jumps Jericho from behind. Jericho turns around and started smiling and turned his attention to Trish. Jericho grabbed Trish by the hair and threw her down and sets up the walls of Jericho only for Christian to low blow Jericho. Christian escapes with Trish as Jericho looked on.

Backstage La Resistance are celebrating being back together as Sylvan Grenier has returned after being out of action due to injury. Rene was complaining to Sheriff Austin about not being involved at WM. He said La Resistance deserved a tag title shot and now that Sylvan has returned they are stronger than ever. Austin asked them are they done because they are wasting his time. Rene told Austin he can not do that and they want Austin to give them the respect they deserve. Austin told them he was thinking about giving them a match tonight but he’s changed his mind. He told them to leave. La Resistance stormed out of Austin's office.

Match 3
World Heavyweight Title Match
Chris Benoit (c) vs Ric Flair

Benoit and Flair lock up and exchange chops in the corner with Benoit getting the upper hand. Benoit takes Flair down with a german suplex and immediately goes for the crossface but Flair quickly slides under the ropes and escapes. Flair gets back in the ring and Benoit hits Flair with a series of right hands and knife edge chops. They slug it out in the corner and Flair knocks Benoit down with a stinging knife edge chop. Flair bodyslams Benoit and hits a kneedrop and gets a 2 count only. Flair goes to the top rope and Benoit gets back up and throws Flair down. Benoit goes to the top rope and goes for a swan dive and Flair moves out of the way. Flair then works away on Benoit’s knee. Flair picks Benoit up and connects with a suplex. Flair goes for the figure- four but Benoit counters to a small package and gets a 2 count only. Benoit tries his own figure-four but Flair quickly breaks it with the thumb to the eye. Flair finally locks the figure four and Benoit makes the ropes. Flair goes for a back suplex and Benoit slips out and hits the 5 rolling german suplexes on Flair. Benoit goes for a crossface and Flair tries to block but Benoit takes him down and makes Flair tap out to the crossface.

Winner: Chris Benoit

Backstage Todd Grisham interviews Jericho. Jericho tells Todd that next week he will call that slut Trish Stratus and that CLB Christian out on the Highlight Reel. Jericho says he may have lost the battle last night but he will win the war.

Backstage Val Venis and Lance Storm are upset that they lost. Women have had enough of him because they think he's a loser. Val hated losing to a young team tonight and Val wanted to get his career back on track. Val's had enough on Raw and he is going to fix this situation soon.

Match 4
Victoria and Lita vs Jazz & Molly Holly

Molly attacks Victoria at the start of the match and hits a snap suplex. Molly tags in Jazz and Jazz powerslams Victoria. Jazz goes for backdrop and Victoria slips out and connects with a ddt for the 2 count. Victoria hits a powerbomb and Molly breaks it up. Victoria makes the tag to Lita who takes Jazz down with the headscissors. Lita goes for a charge and misses and Jazz hits a neckbreaker. Jazz goes for a half-crab which she turns it into the STF. Victoria breaks it up. Jazz tags in Molly and Lita takes Molly down with a clothesline. Lita gets a ddt on Molly and follows up with the moonsault to pick up the win.

Winners: Victoria and Lita

Backstage Austin tells Bischoff that he’s invited Edge to come to Raw next week. Austin said he knows how it feels to be out of action for over a year and what it feels like to miss WM. He’s experienced it before. Austin said Edge will whoop Kurt Angle's ass on Smackdown. Bischoff said he can’t allow Austin to bring over Smackdown talent to his show.

Backstage The Rock arrives and Coach makes fun of The Rock for losing last night at WrestleMania. The Rock then starts running down The Coach and tells The Coach that he's not done yet with Evolution, this has just started. The Rock vows to whoop Evolution's ass.

Main Event
No DQ #1 Contender's Match
HHH vs Shawn Michaels

Big staredown to start the match. HBK dominated the early going by hammering away at HHH. HBK whips HHH into the ropes and goes for an early superkick and HHH moves out the way and slides out of the ring. Back in the ring, HBK chops away at HHH, HHH reverses and chops away at Michaels. More brawling and the match was very back and forth with a lot of near falls. HHH goes for a backdrop which is reversed to a ddt by HBK. HHH kicks out at two. Michaels pulls HHH up to his feet and irish whips HHH off the ropes. Back in HBK charges at HHH as HHH pulls down the ropes, putting Shawn on the floor. HHH goes outside and grabs a chair and hits the chair across the back of HBK. HHH throws HBK back in and goes for a sleeper hold and Michaels comes makes it to the ropes. HHH goes for a pedigree near the ropes but Michaels backdrops HHH over the top ropes. Michaels then connects with a dive from the top rope. Michaels sends HHH into the steel post. Both men are a bloody mess. HBK throws HHH back in the ring and connects with a top rope elbow drop. HHH kicks out at two. Michaels goes for a top rope axe handle but HHH catches Michaels and sets him up for the pedigree which is reversed into a backdrop. Both men are down. HHH gets back up first and gets a spinebuster and gets a 2 count only.

HHH goes for a figure four and HBK makes it to the ropes. HHH whips HBK into the ropes and scores with a high knee. HHH picks Michaels up and signals for the pedigree but Michaels blocks and sends HHH down and Michaels tries to go for a sharpshooter and HHH rolls Michaels up for a 2 count only. Michaels chops away at HHH and whips HHH into the corner and HHH is down.

Michaels tunes up for the sweet chin music. HHH slowly gets back up and as Shawn goes for it, HHH grabs the ref by the shirt and pulls him in the way. Michaels blasts the ref with the superkick and the ref is out cold. HHH charges at HBK and HBK knocks HHH out with the superkick. HHH is out cold but there is no ref. Evolution make their way down to ringside and Michaels tries to fight them off but Randy Orton nails Michaels with the RKO. Benoit makes his way down and tries to help HBK and Evolution attack Benoit. Finally The ROCK’s music hits as he runs down to ringside with Mick Foley as the Rock and Sock Connection fight Evolution off. Orton tries to hit Foley with the IC belt but Foley grabs Orton with the mandible claw/Mr Socko. Rock hits the peoples elbow on Flair. HHH is back up and Rock hits the Rock Bottom on HHH. Rock puts HBK on top of HHH as the ref recovers and counts to 3 and HBK wins.

Winner: Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels is the new #1 contender and he will meet Chris Benoit at Backlash. HBK, Benoit The Rock and Mick Foley celebrate in the ring as Raw went off the air.

WWE.COM
As soon as Raw went off the air, Eric Bischoff made a big announcement for next week’s Raw main event. Evolution will take on Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit and The Rock and Sock Connection in an 8 man tag team match.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

k, let's start lol...

the opening segment with Benoit was pretty good and the best way to open the show
HBk vs. HHH no#1 contender match was predictably announced lol
and Benoit saving HBK shows he is a true sport, good job:D

Tag Team Championship was a good match, nice finish too. made to show world greatest tag team ever are fighting champs.

Hardy vs Spike was a complete squash bsaically to put Matt over

Orton's challenge to mick foley was also nice, but i'm hoping to see Orton vs. The Rock sometime.

Christian & Trish's promo was kinda like WWE, Jericho's attack was a huge failure that made Jericho look week lol.

Benoit/Flair was a good technical match and as expected Benoit won.

divas, i dont care for them lol

HBK vs. HHH was MOTN but why did Evolution come out after the ref was knocked out, they could have done it since the start of the match cuz the match is No-DQ lol. HBK wins by being dragged by The Rock, decent finish.

good show, looking forward to what u do with Smackdown
and pleeez dont give the title to JBL lol

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Raw Feedback

Obvious choice to have Beniot open the show here. I understand what your saying with Shawn saying that Beniot isn’t the best, because he hasn’t beaten him yet, but I just don’t see that happening, seeing as Beniot is the World Champion, that meaning he’s the brands best. Triple H should have just got to use his rematch clause, he shouldn’t have to go through a #1 Contenders Match, he should have just been able to use his rematch clause right then and there. At first, you mentioned Triple H’s rematch clause, but then it’s like you forgot he had it and stuck him in the match with Shawn. Where did Ric Flair get thrown into the mix at? Flair hasn’t been doing a thing except teaming with Evolution and now he’s getting a World Title Match? Surely, there could have been somebody else. Nice attempted attack after the match, but why did HHH have a smile on his face after he bailed from the ring? Not a bad opening promo here, some stuff needed to change, but other than that it was ok.

Not much to comment on TWGTT, since it was basically just a promo to introduce them on Raw.

Obvious choice for TWGTT to get the win.. were Storm and Venis an actual team in real life? I can’t remember.

I can see why you had this promo, but I don’t think it was needed. There was some grammar issues throughout. Like, Austin said “Outside interference will be tolerated in the World Heavyweight Championship Match.” I think you meant for it to be “Outside interference will not be tolerated.” Just little things like that make a whole difference.

Interesting start to this match. Looks like your trying to get the whole Mattitude Follower thing back, which I would love to see :)

Orton making a challenge to Foley? Cool.

Nice promo here to advance Jericho/Christian feud, but there were some things done with the attack that I didn’t like, like Jericho jumping over the barricade. Why would he be coming from the crowd? He wasn’t banned from the arena that night, was he? And, also don’t like that Trish got involved in the attack. Other than some things I didn’t like with the attack, this was an overall good promo.

:side:

Good match here. It was apparent from the beginning that Beniot was going to get the win, but a DQ win for Flair and attack on Beniot would have been good.

Highlight Reel should be good next week.

Not much to comment on for the divas, lol.

I remember the No Way Out 2003 PPV, it was a pretty good one. Typical Austin/Bischoff promo here, but I’m interested that your bring Edge over to Raw next week.

Loved the Main Event. I didn’t like all the run ins at the end of the match when the ref was out.. if maybe Batista and Orton came out, then Beniot came out to even it up, that would have been fine. But you had Batista, Orton, Flair, Beniot, Rock, and Foley. That’s alot of people to interfere in a match when the ref was down. Too big of a fight at the end of it too, the match just should have been ruled a no contest if Orton/Foley and Rock/Flair were fighting at ringside. I can see why your giving HBK the title shot, but I would have rather see HHH get another title match, tbh.

Overall, it was a decent enough show. There was some booking decisions that I didn’t agree with, but we will see how that plays out overtime. Also, you need to work on your grammar. Just proof reading your shows before you post them will help you out on that. Good luck :)

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Nice opening segment with Benoit's emotional speech after winning the title and the somewhat rather predictable interruption from HBK. Overall a good segment with two great matches announced for tonight, already getting me excited for the rest of the show.

WGTT dominating the tag division is all good by me and so is Matt Hardy getting a push.

Another good segment with Christian/Jericho/Trish, I hope you keep this feud going because a lot of good matches could be produced with it.

Benoit defeating Flair is the obvious decision here but I was surprised not to see anyone from Evolution make an appearance, although I guess HHH is preparing for his match.

I'm fans of both Victoria and Lita so I'd be happy if either got a push towards the Women's title.

The main event is actually quite a great TV match and the action was written nicely throughout. I didn't see Rock n Sock interfering but it makes sense that they did. HBK winning is a good choice in my opinion and we already have a great main event for next week to continue the storyline.

Overall, good entertaining show, that perhaps could use more segments overall. I'll continue reading.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Thanks for the feedback guys, will act on it. I will give reviews to you all later on today.

The next show is Smackdown. Now the real life show on March 18 was pretty good as they had a lot of good matches on the show. However I am not going to throw great matches away on this week’s show. It’s the fallout from WM so this week will just introduce stars that have moved to Smackdown, and stars that have returned. As i am not going to do the draft this month i don’t need to throw away ppv quality matches right away on Smackdown. I can save them for ppvs. As it is the fallout from WM, from next week the shows will get interesting.

Smackdown Preview
March 18, 2004

Lose some and Gain some

It is now time to see the fallout from WrestleMania on WWE SmackDown. The Smackdown brand took a major hit at WrestleMania when the Worlds Greatest Tag Team won the world tag team titles to move to Raw. If that wasn’t enough, Ron Simmons was defeated by his former partner Bradshaw in a loser leaves WWE match. The biggest shocker was Brock Lesnar quitting the WWE following WrestleMania. Paul Heyman believes that if they lost some then they certainly gained better.

At WrestleMania, Edge and The Undertaker finally made their long awaited returns and you will see them back on Smackdown tonight. What can we expect from The Undertaker tonight? What will Edge have to say after being out of action for over a year? Is Kurt Angle in huge trouble?

RVD and Booker T are the newest members of the Smackdown roster as they captured the tag titles at WrestleMania. Tonight they will defend the titles against the former champions 2 Cool.

Latino Heat
WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero successfully retained the WWE Title against Kurt Angle at WrestleMania. Kurt Angle believes that he should have won the belt at WrestleMania and Eddie Guerrero shouldn't be champion. After the match Kurt was ambushed by the returning Edge. Kurt was responsible for putting Edge out of action for over a year. Tonight Kurt Angle will explain why he almost ended Edge's career. Also will Latino Heat give Angle a rematch?

Champion vs Champion
Also, for the first time after the WrestleMania extravaganza as we present all of the fallout from WrestleMania XX, the new United States Champion John Cena will meet the new Cruiserweight Champion Tajiri in action tonight in a non title match.

Embarrasment
Last week the superstars of Smackdown let Stone Cold Steve Austin attack Paul Heyman. Has Paul Heyman lost control of Smackdown? Will Heyman show up tonight?

Find out all this week on Smackdown!

Confirmed Matches
Tag Team Title Match: RVD and Booker T vs 2 Cool
Johnny Nitro vs Paul London
John Cena vs Tajiri

The Smackdown show should hopefully be up by tomorrow.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Nice preview. Wish you would have kept Lesnar. He's somebody I've always wanted to write with in a BTB, but never got the chance. Edge and Taker returning will be good. Hopefully, you don't let Guerrero give Angle a rematch, and from what it sounds like you said at the opening of this post about not wanting PPV quality matches on this Smackdown, it's not gonna happen. I'll be reading Smackdown :)

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

WWE Smackdown
March 18, 2004

Footage from WrestleMania 20 is shown as The Undertaker makes his return to the WWE and he is back tonight on Smackdown. The announcers welcomed us to the show. Smackdown kicks off with Paul Heyman coming down to the ring and he’s not in a good mood. Heyman grabs the mic and talks about what happened on last week’s show. The Smackdown roster betrayed him last week as they let Stone Cold Steve Austin invade. Stone Cold attacked him (Heyman) and now he doesn’t feel valued anymore. Heyman told the fans that Brock Lesnar is no longer employed in the WWE because he quit following his match at WM. He made Brock into a star. He was the youngest WWE Champion ever. Last week Brock couldn’t even protect him and at WrestleMania he got his ass whooped by Goldberg. Heyman said screw you Brock Lesnar, Smackdown has no place for quitters.

Now of all the people that let him down, he was disappointed in Big Show the most. Two years ago Big Show was having a miserable time on Raw, he was complaining about not being used much. He had no idea how long it’s been since he headlined a ppv. Then Big Show was traded to Smackdown and he became important again. Paul Heyman made him important again. Big Show ended up receiving a title match at the Survivor Series and became champion and that was thanks to Paul Heyman. If it wasn’t for Paul Heyman, Big Show wouldn’t have been the most dominant force on Smackdown. With Big Show and Brock by his side no one could touch him. Then last week Big Show ended up betraying him and he will get his revenge on The Big Show.

Heyman guaranteed to make everyones lives miserable on Smackdown. From now on he will be respected by the locker room otherwise there will be serious consequences. Heyman sets up a tag team match for tonight’s main event. It will be The Big Show and Kane vs Eddie Guerrero and The Undertaker. Heyman then talks about other issues. Paul Heyman suggested to Kurt Angle not to appear on Smackdown this week in the interest of public safety. Tonight we will hear from Kurt via satellite and he will explain why he attacked Edge.

Backstage Paul Heyman welcomes RVD and Booker T to Smackdown. Heyman is glad to have them on Smackdown and he believes that Smackdown got a better tag team deal than Raw. Heyman explained to them about how he was betrayed by the Smackdown locker room last week. He hopes RVD and Booker T don’t turn out to be like most of the Smackdown stars that defied him last week. RVD says on Raw he was Mr Monday Night but now he’s Mr Thursday Night. Heyman asked Booker how does the former 5 time world heavyweight champion feels like to be part of Smackdown. Booker tells Heyman that he was upset that they lost the tag belts on Raw but they made up for it by winning the Smackdown titles. He has no problem in being on Smackdown and now that he's on Smackdown, he will prove that he is better off here than he was on Raw.

Match 1
John Cena vs Tajiri
John Cena’s music hits as the new US Champ comes out for his match. Cena pumps up the crowd with a rap. The New Cruiserweight Champion Tajiri comes out with Akio. No title is on the line here. Tajiri and Cena lock up. Cena gets a front headlock and takes Tajiri down with a back suplex. Cena taunts Tajiri and Tajiri kicks away at Cena in the corner. Tajiri takes Cena down with a hurracarana. Tajiri tries a handspring and gets caught by a leg lariat from Cena. Cena charges Tajiri in the corner, but Tajiri applied the Tarantula. Tajiri went for his execution kick but Cena ducked and nailed him with a clothesline. Cena hits the five knuckle shuffle and gets 2. Cena goes for a powerbomb which Tajiri counters into a hurracarana for a 2. Big Kick misses and Cena goes for the FU and Tajiri slips out and rolls Cena up for the 2. Tajiri goes for a suplex and Cena slips out and takes Tajiri down with a DDT. Akio gets on the apron and distracts Cena. Tajiri accidently sprays green mist in Akio’s eyes. Tajiri turns around and Cena hits the FU for the win.
Winner: John Cena

Next up the announcers discuss the situation between Kurt Angle and Edge and right now we have Kurt Angle via satellite. Kurt Angle gets booed heavily. Kurt first talks about his match at WrestleMania. Kurt brings up the fact that Eddie Guerrero faked an injury during their match. Eddie cheated to win, he shouldn’t be champion. He deserves a rematch. Kurt says Eddie cannot beat him without cheating. Kurt claims that he was robbed by a Latino Cheat. Kurt then talked about what happened after the match when Edge came down and attacked him. Kurt gives an explanation why he attacked Edge at No Way Out last year.

Angle showed footage of a match that took place between Edge and Angle on a house show. Angle gave Edge a german suplex and Edge hurt his neck bad. He was in a lot of pain. However Edge still decided to continue on with the match and he lost.

Angle said Edge made a huge mistake as he continued on and went ahead to perform in a few matches leading up to No Way Out. Angle knew that Edge was the weak link of Chris Benoit’s team at No Way Out 2003 so he wanted to finish off the job by targeting that weak neck and he did by taking him out at NWO. It would improve Team Angle’s odds in the match but unfortunately they lost but at least he got rid of Edge. It was just team strategy and also payback for what Edge has done to him over the past years. Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin had nothing to do with this. Angle showed footage from King of the Ring 2001 when Edge beat him to become King. Angle said he could have made history by winning KOTR for 2 straight years but Edge ruined it. He blames Edge for starting the “you suck chants.”

He’s an Olympic gold medalist, a former KOTR winner, grand slam winner, he’s headlined WrestleMania and yet because of Edge these stupid fans chant you suck. Kurt then talked about one of the biggest humiliating moments of his career when he had his head shaved bald by Edge. He decides not to show footage of that. Edge was also becoming a threat to his title, by taking out Smackdown’s fastest rising star he had one less person to worry about. He didn’t know the result of the injury would be that bad, he expected Edge to be out for a few months but it ended up being more than a year. It was a satisfying moment in his career when he broke Edge’s neck and to tell the truth he’d do it again. Oh it’s true it’s damn true.

Backstage Interview with WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero. Eddie thanks the fans for being behind him from the beginning. Last month he proved that he is worthy of becoming champion and at WrestleMania Eddie proved that he is a better wrestler than Kurt Angle. Eddie sent a message for Kurt that he can get his rematch anytime he wants, he’s ready to give him the match but he warned Kurt that he should worry about his safety. He will do whatever it takes to retain the title. A victory is a victory. He is a fighting champion. Eddie then discussed tonight’s match. He’s faced many guys that are bigger than him and he does not fear Kane or Big Show. Big Show may have beaten him in the past for the US Title but that was the past and this is now. Every obstacle that has been put infront of him he has overcome Oralevato Loco. Eddie wished his friend Chris Benoit luck on Raw. He is very proud of Chris achieving his dream at WrestleMania 20 by becoming the world heavyweight champion. Eddie hoped that whenever they see each other at the next joint brand ppv, they will remain champions of their brands.

Match 2
Tag Team Championship Match
RVD & Booker T (c) vs 2 Cool
This is a good back and forth contest between both teams. Scotty does the moonwalk and is tripped by Booker. Booker pounds on Scotty at the start as he makes quick tags with RVD. RVD connects with the rolling thunder and gets a 2 count. Later in the match Scotty goes for the worm and RVD kicks out. Scotty makes a tag and Rikishi hits a samoan drop on RVD. Rikishi nails RVD with a superkick and gets the 2. Scotty is back in and RVD makes the tag to Booker. Booker drops Scotty with a sidekick. Spineroonie!!! Booker nails Scotty with the axe kick and pins Scotty to win the match.
Winners: RVD & Booker T

Backstage Heyman is on the phone to someone and Rhyno barges into Heyman’s office and complains about not having a match at WrestleMania. Heyman yells at Rhyno telling him that he’s gone soft, he isn’t the man beast anymore, he’s not feared anymore. This is why Heyman never picked him in Team Lesnar at Survivor Series. Rhyno’s an embarrassment and 2 months ago because of Rhyno he had to have his mouth washed out in soap. Is that how far he’s fallen? He scolds Rhyno for not being out there last week to protect him. Heyman said most of his guys have either quit(Lesnar, Nathan Jones) or have betrayed him(Big Show and A-Train) but he says he will give him a chance to redeem himself because although he was not there last week, he didn’t walk out on him. Rhyno told Heyman that if he was there he wouldn’t have walked out on Paul. They go back a long way in ECW and he is always loyal to Paul. Paul tries to motivate Rhyno into becoming the monster that he once was in ECW. Paul wants Rhyno to make an impact tonight.

Match 3
Johnny Nitro vs Shannon Moore
Nitro makes his in ring debut and this was a quick match. Nitro and Moore waste no time trading quick moves. Moore then reverses into a wrist lock which Moore kips-up out of. The two continue trading moves, and Nitro corners Moore. Nitro lands a kick to the mid-section and takes Shannon down with a headscissors. Shannon fights back and takes Nitro down with a tornado DDT. Moore goes for a cross body from the top rope but Nitro moves out the way. Nitro finishes Moore off with a corkscrew neck breaker to win the match.
Winner: Johnny Nitro

Backstage Interview with Rey Mysterio. Rey brings up the fact that at the start of the year his goal was to become cruiserweight champion and he did. His next goal is to move away from the division because he believes he has what it takes to become US or WWE Champion. Cruiserweights can become champions too. He talked about Eddie Guerrero and Chris Jericho as examples as they worked their way to the top. In WCW they were cruiserweight champions and then in the WWE they won the Intercontinental title and then worked their way to capturing the WWE Title. Now currently Eddie is the WWE champion and Rey hopes to follow in the footsteps of his friend Eddie. He’s won the cruiserweight title and tag team title but he’s never won the US Title. He’s never been WWE Champion. He believes he can beat guys that are bigger than him, in the past he’s had matches with Big Show, Kurt Angle and many other stars and he took them to the limit. Paul Heyman approaches Rey and laughs at him. Paul tells Rey last week Rey was one of the guys that betrayed him and tonight if he wants to prove he is worthy of moving up a division then he will face another guy who betrayed him A-Train. Either A-Train will beat the hell out of you or you will get to embarrass A-Train. Heyman laughs and walks off.

Up next Edge makes his return to Smackdown as he responds to Kurt Angle.

Edge’s music hits as he comes down to the ring to a great ovation. Edge has made his return to Smackdown after a year out due to injury at the hands of Kurt Angle. Edge gets a mic and thanks the fans for the support, it feels great to be back. He has 2 goals. 1)To get his revenge on Kurt Angle and 2)To become the WWE Champion. He talks about his injury, the surgery and how he missed being out of action for a very long time. He missed the fans. Doctors told him he was almost done but it was a miracle that he recovered from this. He worked hard to get back in shape, he worked hard to make it back for WrestleMania and he did. Although he didn’t wrestle, he was still a part of the show. During his time off he didn’t want to appear in a non-wrestling role like a manager or announcer. He’s a wrestler and he would rather be gone and come back. He wanted to heal and come back 100% as he wanted to come back with a whole lot of momentum. Now that he’s 100% he’s going to tear Kurt Angle apart.

Kurt Angle pops up on the big screen via satellite. Edge looks at the screen. Edge and Angle were trading insults at each other back and forth. Angle talked about his neck problems in the past and he underwent neck surgery last year following WrestleMania 19. He didn’t take the cowards way out like Edge. The surgery he had reduced his rehabilitation time from one year to three months. When he came back he was champion again. Something Edge has never done, Edge does not have what it takes to be a heavyweight champion. He won an olympic gold medal with a broken freakin neck. Edge says Angle may have taken him out for a year but he didn’t finish the job. He did not end his career and now that he’s back he’s going to break Kurt’s neck.

Kurt says Heyman suggested that he shouldn’t appear this week on Smackdown in the interest of public safety. With a lunatic like Edge running around, Angle says why would he take the risk to show up on Smackdown and put his career in danger. He had a rough week because he was robbed of the title at WrestleMania against that Latino Cheat Eddie Guerrero and then Edge shows up and attacks him. Kurt said he should be traded to Raw just to get away from Edge. Edge says Angle is afraid of him, he’s afraid to come out infront of these fans. Edge gives Angle advice to book a hospital bed soon because next week he’s going to break Angle’s neck. Fans are already chanting goodbye chants for Kurt and he’s had enough. The satelite screen goes out Angle leaves the big screen. Edge’s music hits.

Backstage Big Show explained his reason for betraying Paul Heyman last week. It was first all about Brock and Heyman sided with Big Show but then went back to Brock again. Big Show was kicked to the side and was just back up for Brock and Heyman. If Heyman can turn on Brock two years ago then he could have also turned on him so that's why he decided to turn on Paul before Paul betrayed him. Paul thought he was bigger than the Smackdown locker room because he thought he was untouchable. He believed that no one could stand up to him but then last week showed how weak Brock and Paul are. Now Brock Lesnar is no longer in the WWE and Paul has no one by his side. Ever since Paul became GM, he never appreciated his stars. He forced Chris Benoit to make the move to Raw as he made his life miserable on Smackdown. The roster couldn't stand Heyman. They didn't respect him. 2 months ago, Heyman had his mouth washed out with soap by John Cena. He was losing control of his roster and last week proved it. Big Show is disappointed that he lost the US Title but he is now focusing on becoming WWE Champion again. Once Big Show stopped going for the WWE Title last year, Heyman ended up going back with Brock. Brock was going for Kurt's belt and Big Show was out of the title picture. Now he is going to do things his way and tonight he will pin the WWE Champion. He holds a victory over Eddie as he beat him last year to become US Champion. Why hasn't he had a title shot against Eddie yet? Is Eddie afraid to face him. Big Show said now it's his time to become the number one star on Smackdown.

In the back Edge meets Rey. Rey welcomes Edge back to Smackdown. Rey advises Edge to not let his temper get the best of him. Now that he's back, he needs to be careful. He just came back from a serious potential career ending injury and warned Edge to be careful. He doesn't want Edge to get hurt. Edge told Rey not to worry, he's not back to get hurt, he's back to hurt others. Edge wishes Rey luck for his match which is next.

Match 4
A-Train vs Rey Mysterio
This match was quick. A-train starts out with several big power moves, but Rey comes back with a nice drop kick. Rey gets a tilt-a-whirl headscissors and goes for a roll up but A-Train kicks out. A-Train comes back with a the bicycle kick on Rey and then continues the assault on Rey in the corner. A-Train hits the derailer and Mysterio kicks out. Rey Mysterio countered a powerbomb into a victory roll and A-Train kicks out at 2. A-Train knocks Rey down with a clothesline. A-Train goes for the trainwreck and Rey slips out and dropkicks A-Train to the ropes. Rey nails a 619 followed by the west coast pop and gets the 3 count for the win.
Winner: Rey Mysterio

Rey celebrates in the ring. Rhyno ran out after the match and ambushed Rey. Rhyno gores Rey. A-Train gets up and has a big smile on his face as he watches Rhyno assault Rey. A-Train is ready to nail Rey with the bicycle kick but RHYNO ends up hitting the gore on A-Train.

In the back Kane cuts a promo and said at WrestleMania he did not expect his father to come back and be on the same side as The Undertaker. It made him sick to his stomach to see Undertaker rising from the dead and coming back with his father, Paul Bearer. For the first time in his life there was fear in his eyes when he saw Taker and Bearer reunited. Kane thought he got the job done but now that The Undertaker is back, he's going to make sure that Taker does not make his life miserable. Kane started shouting that he is still a monster and people will still be afraid of him. He was always superior than his brother and tonight he will defeat him.

Footage of the No Holds Barred match between JBL and Farooq at WM is shown. John Bradshaw Layfield’s music hits as he comes out to the ring and brags out his victory at WM. He guaranteed victory as he ran his partner Farooq out of the WWE. He proved that he was better than Farooq. Farooq was the weak link in the APA. JBL said the biggest mistake he made in his life was not to go into a singles career sooner because drinking beer, meeting the troops and tagging with Farooq held him down. It put a dent in his career, he would have been US or WWE Champion by now. JBL insulted the fans and said they all pay good money just to see JBL. He gave financial tips and JBL says he is a role model for the fans. Within the next few months he will win them over and they will jump on the JBL bandwagon. JBL guaranteed that he will be holding a title this year.

Backstage Edge is walking past as he meets some of the Smackdown stars as they welcome him back to Smackdown. Paul Heyman approaches Edge. Heyman welcomes him back but he’s not pleased with Edge accepting Stone Cold’s invitation to make an appearance on Raw next week. Austin was the man that attacked him last week, the Smackdown roster embarrassed him(Heyman) last week. He can’t afford to have a Smackdown star making an appearance on Raw. Heyman told Edge he had a great future, he shouldn’t get on the bad side of Paul Heyman. Heyman warned Edge that if anyone defied him now then there would be serious consequences. If Edge goes to Raw he will be suspended. Heyman winds Edge up and tells him if he gets suspended then he won’t get the opportunity to get revenge on Kurt Angle. Edge agreed and told Heyman that the Smackdown roster took a hit this week by losing four stars. Well next week he’s going to eliminate Kurt Angle off the Smackdown roster.

Main Event
Eddie Guerrero and The Undertaker vs The Big Show and Kane

Kane and Show have a staredown in the ring and argue over who will start. Big Show lets Kane start. Big Show and Kane pound on Eddie in the corner and stomp away. Choking and stomping follows. Show and Kane start arguing over who gets a cover and Eddie tried a sunset flip and Big Show just sat on him for a 2 count. Show and Kane make quick tags and Big Show is back in the ring. Big Show chops away at Eddie in the corner. Eddie fights back and takes Big Show off his feet. Eddie charges at Big Show and Big Show takes Eddie down with a sidewalk slam. Show signals for the chokeslam and Eddie reverses and takes show down with a DDT. Eddie tags Taker in and he cleans house. Taker knocks Kane out of the ring and signals for the choke slam on Big Show and Show also grabs Taker by the throat. Big Show knees Taker in the mid-section and hits the chokeslam. Taker no sells it and rises up. Big Show tags in Kane. Later in the match Eddie hits the three amigos on Kane. Eddie goes to the top but Kane rises up and grabs Eddie by the throat and chokeslams him and Eddie kicks out at 2. Eddie makes the tag to Taker and Taker hits a big clothesline on Kane. Taker walks the rope and nails Kane across the back of the neck. Taker whips Kane in the corner and boots him in the face. Taker misses a charge and Kane hits a neckbreaker. Kane tags in Big Show. Big Show tries to chop away at Taker in the corner but Taker no sells and punches away at Big Show. Taker tags Eddie. Eddie tries to slam Big Show but Show falls on top of Eddie and almost gets the 3 count. Show chops away at Eddie. Big Show slams Eddie and hits a legdrop and gets a 2. Big Show misses a charge and Eddie knocks Show down. Eddie hits the frogsplash and Kane breaks up the count. Taker and Kane start brawling and Kane's had enough and makes his way to the back as Taker follows him to the back.

The match continues as Big Show accidently knocks the referee down. Eddie grabs the WWE Title and brings the title in the ring. Eddie tossed the title to Big Show and falls down. The ref woke up and saw Big Show holding the title and disqualified him. Big Show is furious. Eddie starts laughing. Big Show chokeslams the referee. Paul Heyman comes out and reverses the decision. Heyman tells Eddie he’s not going to pull a fast one again by cheating to win due to poor refereering. On Smackdown he makes the rules and he’s going to make sure that Eddie won’t break them. Heyman awards the match to Big Show and Kane. The lights go out and Taker is back in the ring and Big Show is out cold. Eddie points at Heyman to turn around. Heyman looks back and The Undertaker is behind him. Heyman is scared to death. Heyman goes down on his knees and begs The Undertaker to have mercy on him. Taker grabs Heyman and tombstones him as Smackdown goes off the air.
Winners by DQ: Big Show and Kane

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Yes Brock and Goldberg are gone. I will not use them now as i want to see how i can do this btb with the talent that was available for that time period. Cena will be one of the main characters in this btb. :) There was so much potential in 2004 and the WWE could have done such an amazing job for Smackdown but it just fell flat. Raw however was awesome. My aim is to make Raw just as good or even better. Smackdown will definetely be better than it actually was for that time period. I remember the horrible Smackdown ppvs post WM20 in 2004 with so many horrible filler matches. Raw was loaded with star power and the rosters should have been evenly balanced. I've decided not to do the draft right away. The WWE did it because Smackdown took a major hit but i think i can do a very good job without doing a draft. I believe that even without a draft(which will take place most likely in June or July) i can make this better than Smackdown actually was with the new draft picks they received. There were so many awesome matches that they could have done in 2004 but they didn't. I will have loads of great ppv matches for this btb, Benoit/Michaels is a start as they did not have a one on one match at a ppv. Anyway hope you guys enjoy the shows.

*I added a change in the backstory. I decided not to go with a long term storyline of who attacked Edge. So in the backstory i mentioned that Kurt Angle was the attacker. I did some research and found out that in real life Edge and Angle wrestled on a house show in 2003 a few weeks before No Way Out 2003. That was the match when Edge broke his neck. This was never mentioned on tv, so i thought i may as well include this and mention it. I have other plans for Edge and other stars so i decided to immediately name Edge’s attacker. I want to try to keep to try to keep this realistic for example if a star was injured around that time period then i will try not to use him in a match. If a star made their debut that year for example Carlito then i won’t bring him up to the roster in April. He made his tv debut in October so i will bring him in October.I want to see how this can be improved than how it actually was with the talent that was available. If someone was fired then i will stop using them, an example was Farooq, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. I am using Rock because he was available till August and in real life he made a few appearances. However he was never injured so he could have made more appearances and that’s why i will use Rock more often in this btb.

WWE News and Notes

- Stone Cold Steve Austin's WWE future is in question at this point. For the past few weeks, WWE has been negotiating a new contract with Steve Austin as he has failed to agree on a new contract. Steve Austin is expected to be on Raw next week. Although no new talks are scheduled between Austin and Vince McMahon but if there is then we'll keep you updated on any progress in this story.

- Officials have wanted to pair Eugene up with Matt Hardy as his Mattitude Follower. Though this may change expect to see Nick Dinsmore debuting under the Eugene character in 3 weeks.

- William Regal will be returning to the WWE in 3 weeks on the Raw brand. He is expected to return in a non wrestling role as he is not cleared to wrestle until June.

-Shawn Michaels is rumoured to have said that he would like a match at King of the Ring against The Rock. Though a possible dream match between Michaels vs The Rock has been discussed but this appears unlikely as neither Rock nor Michaels would agree to job. In the past The Rock has refused to work a program with Shawn Michaels but we will keep you updated if there is any progress in this story. The current plan is that Shawn Michaels could be turning heel soon.

-The reason why The Rock returned to team with Mick Foley at WrestleMania was to work a future program with Randy Orton. A match between Rock vs Randy Orton at King of the Ring or Vengeance has been discussed.

-Rikishi is currently frustrated with his position in the WWE and may consider leaving all together.

-Lance Storm is considering retirement. Storm is currently frustrated with his position in the WWE and it is possible that he may retire at Backlash which takes place in Canada. Storm feels that to retire in his country is the best way to go out on.

-Vince McMahon is very high on the JBL character. Management have been very impressed with JBL's promos ever since becoming JBL.

-The reason why the creative team decided not to have a long term storyline for Edge’s attacker was due to the lack of heels on Smackdown. There are reports that The Big Show and Kurt Angle will be taking time off to rest injuries. This would leave Kane along with newly turned heel JBL as the only top heels on the brand. Currently the top faces on Smackdown are The Undertaker, Eddie Guerrero, Edge, Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Booker T and RVD. Management is considering turning Edge heel in the upcoming months. They feel that they have enough faces already and Booker T has requested to management to turn him heel. This was one of the main reasons why Booker T was moved to Smackdown. Edge is open to the idea of turning heel in the upcoming months.

-A draft is expected to take place in the upcoming months, no news on who will be switching shows but it may be the time you see a member of Evolution being drafted to Smackdown. Management is considering sending either HHH, Batista or Orton to Smackdown, however Ric Flair’s position on Raw is secure.

-For this year’s King of the Ring Tournament expect to see an 8 man elimination tournament taking place. In 2002 only the semi finals took place at the ppv along with the final and this year the WWE has decided to go back to it's original format. Many stars have been rumoured to be possible contenders to become KOTR such as John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, Christian and John Bradshaw Layfield.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

WWE Raw Preview
March 22, 2004

Tonight Raw comes to you from Detroit Michigan and tonight’s main event is one of the biggest in Raw history. Last week it was announced that tonight's main event would be of epic proportions as Evolution will take on Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, Mick Foley and The Rock in an 8 man tag team match. Will HHH get back to winning ways tonight? Will Benoit make HHH tap out again? Is Orton going to get one over Mick Foley again?

Also tonight Trish Stratus is the special guest on the highlight reel and Trish will tell Jericho face to face why she broke his heart at WrestleMania. Eric Bischoff has barred Christian from making an appearance on the Highlight Reel and if he gets involved then he would be fined and suspended. As for Jericho if he lays a hand on Trish he would get fined and suspended. How will Jericho react tonight?

Last week The World’s Greatest Tag Team made a very impressive start on their first night on Raw. Tonight we will find out who their opponents will be at Backlash as The Dudleys meet La Resistance in a number one contenders match.

What other developments will take place tonight on Raw. To find out tune in to Monday Night Raw.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Gonna start my reviews for this on the next RAW. Your layout is just fantastic, man. Big RAW and the eight man tag team match is awesome. I hope Jericho takes his revenge on Christian and Trish with a diva of his own in a mixed tag or either a one-on-one. Either way it should be good. Two #1 Contender's Matches round it out nicely. Looking forward to RAW.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

WWE Raw
March 22, 2004

Match 1
Christian vs Lance Storm
Raw kicks off with Christian making his way down to ringside for his match. Trish wasn’t out there to accompany Christian as she will be appearing on the Highlight Reel later on the show. This was a decent match, although it was not too long with the action even throughout. Lance Storm got in some offense and almost had the match won when he nailed Christian with a superkick and Christian kicked out at two. Christian ducked an enziguri and finished Lance off with the unprettier to win the match.
Winner: Christian

Backstage Matt Hardy is in Eric Bischoff’s office. Bischoff informs Hardy that in 2 weeks, his nephew Eugene is coming to the WWE. Hs is a unique talent. He wants Hardy to take him under his wing and make him his Mattitude Follower. Hardy asked Bischoff what’s in it for him. Bischoff promised Hardy a world title shot against Chris Benoit on Raw once Hardy takes Eugene under his wing. Hardy agreed. Stone Cold shows up and he points out that last week he was going to invite Edge to Raw this week but Heyman barred Edge from making an appearance tonight. Well tonight Stone Cold’s decided that he will be the referee for the big 8 man tag match later on in the show.

In Ring Segment with Evolution. Evolution make their way down to ringside. HHH grabs a mic. HHH is furious and demands another title shot. He holds Rock responsible for costing him the match last week. Tonight Evolution will send Rock back to Hollywood and Foley into a hospital. HHH talks about not receiving his one on one rematch against Benoit and wants Bischoff to insert him into the Backlash main event. That’s right, it shouldn’t be Benoit vs HBK. If Benoit wants to prove that his win at WM was not a fluke then why not do the 3 way again to see if he can get the job done again. Stone Cold comes out and tells HHH that he’s sick and tired of seeing HHH complain. He had his chance last week and he blew it and now he’s starting to piss Stone Cold off. Austin says HHH will still continue to complain but he’s giving him one last chance. Austin tells HHH that he just came to an agreement with Bischoff and he explains the stipulations for the match tonight. If Evolution win tonight then it’s a triple threat match at Backlash. If Evolution lose then it’s a one on one match. Austin warned Evolution if they provoke him tonight in the main event then he will whoop their ass and that’s the bottom line coz Stone Cold said so.

Backstage Val Venis told Bischoff that his Raw contract has just expired and he’s decided not going to sign a new contract. He’s a former IC, Euro and Tag Champ and on Raw he’s being wasted. He wasn’t on the WrestleMania card. The last ppv he was on was back in December. He just called up Paul Heyman and Paul Heyman has agreed to have him on the Smackdown roster. He has assured Val that he won’t be wasted on Smackdown. Bischoff did not like this, he did not like how Val went behind his back to get a deal on Smackdown. Val then said that if you continue to waste talent on your show then this is what will happen, you will lose your stars to Smackdown.

Match 2
#1 Contenders Match: The Dudleys vs La Resistance
The World’s Greatest Tag Team come out to do commentary. Rene Dupree accompanied La Resistance down to ringside and Spike was in The Dudley’s corner. La Resistance dominated early until the The Dudleys took control of Grenier. During the match Coach asks TWGTT who they would prefer to face at Backlash. Haas said they don’t care who wins this match because at Backlash they will be victorious. Lawler asks Shelton about the situation with Kurt and Edge. Shelton says they had nothing to do with it but they do fear for Kurt because Edge is back for vengeance. As the match continued on, with a brief distraction from Rene, La Resistance took control again. Outside the ring, Rene and Spike started arguing. Eventually, both teams were in the ring and The Dudleys hit the wassup headbutt on Conway. The Dudleys hit the 3D on Grenier and got the three count to win the match and become the #1 contenders for the tag team titles.
Winners: The Dudleys

Backstage in Benoit’s locker room, HBK meets Benoit. The Rock and Sock Connection have not arrived yet.

HBK tells Benoit that he is very excited for tonight’s main event and he is looking forward to facing Benoit at Backlash. Michaels believes he is the best and until Benoit doesn’t beat him Benoit can not call himself the best. He already holds a victory over Benoit and Benoit did not make HBK tap at WM, he made HHH tap. Tonight they must work together again to embarrass Evolution. They need to ensure that they win tonight so that their match at Backlash remains a one on one contest and then we will find out who truly is the best. Benoit responds back and said it doesn’t matter whether it is one on one or a triple threat he will not get embarrassed in his hometown, he will walk in as champion and he will walk out as champion.

In the back Christian talks to Trish and tells her not to be afraid because if Jericho lays a hand on her he will be fined and suspended. Christian tells Trish to go out there and announce what they have in store for next week. Up next is the highlight reel.

The Highlight Reel
Chris Jericho comes out and tells the fans that he would love to get his hands on Trish and Christian tonight but he can’t. If he lays his hands on Trish tonight then he is fined and suspended and the same applies to Christian if he comes out then he is fined and suspended. Jericho mentioned that Christian was one of his best friends until he stabbed him in the back and turned on him. He talked about how mad he was in love with Trish and she played him at WrestleMania. That Creepy Little Bastard and that slut were in co-hoots. He vows to get his revenge and he will humiliate Christian and Trish. Jericho calls out Trish as she makes her way down to ringside. Trish explained the reasons why she turned on Jericho.

Trish taunts Jericho and lets Jericho know that she was never in love with him. She doesn’t find him attractive at all. This started off as a bet from Jericho and how he wanted to use her, how he wanted to get laid but he could never get her. Jericho started to develop feelings for her and fell in love. At WrestleMania, Trish got one over him and he didn't see it coming. She calls Jericho more dumber than Buh Buh Ray. Trish refers to the wood segment she had in 2000 when Buh Buh was all over her but it was just a tease and a plan. Jericho was blinded by love and it cost him heavily at WrestleMania. Trish says she would never trust a guy who was going to use her in the first place. No one uses Trish Stratus, she has way too much class. She knew that Jericho could never treat a woman right. He has no respect for women with class. Trish refers to Stephanie McMahon as an example and in the past Jericho insulted Stephanie McMahon, he took it way too far. Christian would never treat a woman like that, he would treat them with class and that’s why she went for a real man and that’s Christian.

Christian was there for her and he looked after her when she was in hospital. They started to grow feelings for each other and they ended up falling in love. Now that's what you call true love. She decided that she will teach Jericho a lesson and it would happen on the biggest stage of them all and Jericho ended up getting his heart broken. Trish started laughing. Jericho continued to listen to her explanation as Trish called Jericho a user because last year he made Christian do all the dirty work for him. Trish mentions the Royal Rumble match from last year when Jericho asked Christian to dress up as him so that they could eliminate HBK. Jericho was so selfish that he didn’t give his Survivor Series favour to Christian. Jericho’s had way too many title shots and Christian has never had a world title shot on a ppv. Jericho held Christian back but at WrestleMania, Christian proved he is better than Jericho.

As a wrestler she’s proven all there is to prove as far as women’s wrestling goes. Now as a manager she will guide Christian to the top. She taunts Jericho and brags about her body and says Jericho will never EVERRRRRRRR(mocks Jericho) get a piece of her again. Trish announced that next week on RAW she will have a LIVE SEX celebration with Christian for getting one over Jericho at WrestleMania. Jericho asks her is she done. Jericho then bashed her with a series of insults by asking Trish if she will ask the entire locker room to join in the celebration. Trish was furious and Jericho asked Trish if Bischoff will bring back HLA(Hot Lesbian Action) for the Live Sex Celebration.

Jericho asked Trish that she said she wants to take Christian all the way to the top and make him a bigger star. Well does that mean then she will turn to Bischoff for sexual favours so that he ends up giving Christian title shots. That's the sort of slut she is. Jericho continued to mock Trish and gets interrupted by Eric Bischoff who comes down to ringside. Bischoff was livid and tells Jericho to stop right there. He is not going to allow Jericho humiliating the three times babe of the year and Raw’s top diva. Bischoff doesn’t care if Jericho doesn’t have his wrestling gear. He wants Jericho to clear the set right now because Jericho will have a match against the man who will guide his nephew Eugene to the top...... MATT HARDY.

Match 3: Chris Jericho vs Matt Hardy

The match was back and forth through out and eventually came to an end with Matt attempting the twist of fate and Jericho counters with a Bulldog. Jericho hits a lionsault for the win.
Winner: Chris Jericho

Backstage Val Venis tells his partner Lance Storm that he has left Raw and asks Storm to join him on Smackdown. Val is now going to take his career seriously, he has become serious and from now on he doesn't trust women, he's not the ladies man no more. He does not want to become a joke and he deserves to be treated with respect, he is talented and deserves success on Smackdown. Storm agrees that they have become a joke on Raw but over there on Smackdown the situation will be the same because Paul Heyman is losing control of his show. However he will not be joining Val on Smackdown. He wants to prove here on Raw that he is not a failure and if he fails he will retire. By proving his loyalty, he hopes he will be rewarded with an Intercontinental title shot. Val said it's not about loyalty, it did not get him far. It's about opportunity and Smackdown is the land of opportunity. Val says Storm is making a big mistake but still wished him luck.

Match 4
#1 Contenders Triple Threat Match
Lita vs Jazz vs Molly

Victoria comes out to do commentary. The match was decent, with the heels double teaming Lita. Jazz then turns on Molly and starts controlling the majority of the match. Lita went for a moonsault on Molly near the end but misses. Jazz throws Molly outside the ring and forces Lita to submit to the STF. Jazz is now the new #1 contender for the womens title. Jazz motions for the belt.
Winner: Jazz

Backstage Bischoff talks to Austin over Val walking out. He said he is not going to allow stars walking out, if anyone is unhappy he will be glad to trade them and get stars that are unhappy on Smackdown in return. Austin suggested that Lance Storm should have a title shot as he decided to stay on Raw. Bischoff agreed and next week Storm will get an intercontinental title shot.

Backstage interview with The Rock and Sock Connection. This is Mick’s first Raw match in four years. Mick said the only reason Orton is not getting the credit he feels he deserves is because Evolution had the extra man advantage at WM. Orton will not get the credit until he beats Foley one on one. Tonight Evolution don’t have the extra man advantage, it’s even and tonight he’s going to get one over Orton. He’s going to hurt Orton. Foley passes the mic to The Rock. Rock talked about his big rivalry with HHH in the past. Rock mimics Evolution. Evolution may have ruined their night at WrestleMania but tonight Rock guaran-damn-tees that they will whoop Evolutions candy asses if ya smelllll what the Rock and Sock connection is cooking.

Main Event
Special Guest Referee Stone Cold Steve Austin
8 Man Tag Team Match
Evolution vs Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Chris Benoit and Mick Foley
A very good back and forth match that went on for about 20 minutes. Orton and Foley were fighting before the bell even rang. Finally when the bell rang HBK starts off the match with Flair. After early momentum by the faces, the heels took turns beating Foley. Austin stops the heels from teaming up on Foley. Evolution start arguing with Austin. Batista hit a spine buster on Foley for a near fall. Eventually, Foley tags in The Rock for the hot tag. He took it to Batista, and then attempted to take it to Flair as well. Rock hit a spine buster on Flair and signalled for the peoples elbow. Rock comes across the ropes and is about to hit the elbow but suddenly Orton stops Rock and hits the RKO. Rock and Flair are both down and Flair tags in HHH. Rock and HHH go at it and Rock hits a samoan drop on HHH. Rock tags Benoit in. HHH and Benoit trade chops until HHH takes Benoit down with a knee lift. HHH whips Benoit into the corner and goes for a charge but eats boot. Benoit hits the rolling five german suplexes on HHH. Benoit goes up and hits the swan dive and goes for the cover and Batista breaks it up.

The match continued on as Evolution were back in control. HHH exposed the turnbuckle pad and sends Benoit shoulder first into the post to knock him out the ring. HHH gets in Austin's face again. Austin warns HHH if he provokes him not only will he beat the hell out of him, HHH will also lose the opportunity to be inserted into the Backlash main event. HHH and Mick Foley brawl in the ring. HHH goes for a pedigree on Foley but Foley backdrops HHH over the top rope. All hell breaks loose in the ring and we get a big brawl in the ring and also outside the ring. This leaves Foley in the ring with Orton. Foley goes for the mandible claw(Mr Socko) and Orton goes low and kicks Foley in the balls. Orton signals for the RKO but Foley shoves him down. Rock is back in the ring. Foley sends Orton into the exposed turnbuckle and Orton walks into a Rock Bottom by the Rock. Foley ends up covering Orton for the 3 count as Foley's team win the match.

Winners: Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Chris Benoit and Mick Foley

The faces celebrate in the ring with Austin as Raw comes to a close.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

WWE News and Notes

-The WWE is bringing back the WCW concept of Battle Bowl on Smackdown. It’s a concept that often conjures up some spectacular and some odd match-ups and it seems as if WWE have revived the famous WCW gimmick match. Expect to see a lethal lottery tournament taking place on April 1 on Smackdown over the course of three weeks. This will tie in with the Paul Heyman storyline as he was betrayed by the Smackdown roster and his way of revenge is to pair up random teams to see if they can co exist. So you could see enemy teaming up with enemy. Partner’s could go against each other and this could break up teams. To find out more about this, tune in to Smackdown this week.

-Currently the plan is to have either an Iron Man Match or a Ladder Match between Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit at Backlash. Though this may change expect to see Benoit and Michaels going at it in an Iron Man Match.

-Now that HHH is not going to be involved in the main event at Backlash, expect HHH to revive his old rivalry with The Rock at Backlash.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Smackdown Preview
March 25, 2004

Tonight Kurt Angle makes his return to Smackdown and Kurt wants his rematch from WrestleMania against Eddie Guerrero. Last week Paul Heyman suggested to Kurt Angle not to appear on Smackdown this week in the interest of public safety. Last week via satellite Kurt Angle explained why he attacked Edge and Edge promised that if Kurt showed up on Smackdown he would break Kurt’s neck. Will it be a wise move for Kurt to show up tonight? Is Kurt taking Edge’s threat too lightly? Will Paul Heyman grant Kurt his rematch and keep Edge away from Angle tonight?

Speaking of Paul Heyman, last week Heyman was attacked again but this time by The Undertaker. Is this starting to become a routine now for Heyman to be attacked every week on Smackdown? What will the Smackdown general manager do tonight? Will Paul Heyman even show up? To find out tune in to Smackdown.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Haven't really read anything in this thread before but I must say you have yourself some interesting work done so far, and a time that is jam packed with talent to work with, so hopefully you utalize that. I am loving the fact that you are using lots of pictures from real life to help the readers in your shows, very good idea, not something I have seen done too often before. Keep it up.

SmackDown is looking like a big show, I doubt the rematch for Wrestlemania will happen tonight, it will probably wait until a PPV or something. I assume you would do something like Eddie and Edge vs. Kurt and someone which is also a great main event. Please push the HUrricane he was great back then, didn't really like Tajiri much.

Overall looks good, has the potential, I'll drop a bit of feedback when I can. Best of luck.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Credit to AJ22 for helping me with some storyline ideas. Thanks AJ22. No Undertaker appearance tonight but he will be there for next week’s show.

WWE Smackdown
March 25, 2004

The announcers welcome the fans to the show as Paul Heyman’s music hits and the Smackdown General Manager makes his way down to the ring. Heyman comes out in a neck brace and he’s not in a good mood. Heyman grabs the mic and gets straight to the point. He talks about losing control of the Smackdown roster, how he has been disrespected and attacked by a star from another roster. He had a vision for Smackdown but he was betrayed by his own roster. Now he’s wearing a neck brace because of The Undertaker and The Undertaker will pay for this. He believes that the superstars of Smackdown think if they bully him around then he will quit his job but that’s not going to happen. He won’t surrender and he has come up with a plan of punishing and rewarding. If the Smackdown stars decided to stick together and allowed Stone Cold to invade then lets just see if they can co-exist next week because that bond will be broken and he will find ways of making each and everyone who betrayed him suffer. Two months ago we had the first ever Smackdown Rumble and next week for the first time ever on Smackdown a lethal lottery tournament will be held. The tournament will be held over three weeks and this will determine who the #1 contender is for the WWE Title. The winner of the tournament will face the WWE Champion at Judgment Day.

Heyman explains the rules. 6 tag team matches will take place next week and the winners advancing to a battle royal the following week. The last 2 guys remaining in the battle royal will compete the week later in a match to decide the #1 contender. However there is a twist, it’s not an ordinary tag team match. It will be random drawings which will force people to team up. You can have enemies teaming with enemies, friends with friends. Heyman gave some examples that we could end up seeing such as The Undertaker and Shannon Moore(Heyman laughed) vs Rhyno and Kane. Big Show and Funaki (Heyman laughs again) vs JBL and Chavo Jnr. Another match could be Rikishi teaming with Nunzio against Scotty 2 Hotty and Johnny the Bull. Or how about The Bashams on opposing teams. Kurt Angle and Edge who want to tear each other apart could end up on the same team. The tag team champions RVD and Booker could end up on opposing teams. The possibilities are endless and this is why he’s set this up so that 1) it determines whether they co-exist or 2)Maybe the partners don’t get along and beat the hell out of each other, ruining their chances of becoming the #1 contender. Heyman then introduces Val Venis who he has signed from Raw.

Val Venis comes out with no music and he’s shaved his head bald. Val thanks Heyman for giving him this opportunity. Val discusses his run on Raw and how disastrous it was. He was not given a chance and he was wasted on Raw as they focused more on the youth but did not give him and other veterans such as Storm a chance. Storm decided to stay on Raw but Val made the sensible decision not remain on Raw. On Raw women started to reject him because he was no longer young and his hair all started falling out. His long locks were a big hit with the ladies back in the day. Now that his hair started to fall out, he's just another guy. And compared to pretty boys like John Cena and Randy Orton, he's not that impressive in the face anymore. He hates youth because he no longer has it. He was miserable on Raw, he wasn’t even on the WM card. Then he failed to win the tag titles on Raw. He couldn’t tolerate it anymore and decided not to renew his contract on Raw and now he’s come to Smackdown to make a big impact. He wants to prove that he deserves an opportunity to succeed on Smackdown and how he can still compete against the very best in the ring. He blasted the fans of Raw that didn’t appreciate him and had hoped that the fans of Smackdown appreciate him. As of now he’s no longer the ladies man, he doesn’t need no ladies or a tag partner, from now on he’s not going to be held back.

Match 1
Cruiserweight Title Match
Tajiri (c) vs The Hurricane

Fast paced stuff early on, as both guys exchange flips and other mat maneuvers. Tajiri gets a spinning heel kick followed by a leg scissors. Helms comes back by hitting a neckbreaker. Hurricane attempts the Eye of the Hurricane, but Tajiri blocks and connects with the head scissors. Tajiri kicks away at Hurricane and locks in the tarantula. Tajiri whips Helms into the ropes and Helms gets a crossbody for the two count. Helms goes for his chokeslam and gets it and Tajiri kicks out at two. Helms starts posing for the crowd. Helms goes for a flying clothesline from the top rope but Tajiri kicks him in the ribs. Tajiri gets the handspring elbow drop and gets a two count only. Tajiri ducks the shining wizard and Tajiri powerbombs Helms but doesn’t cover him. Helms is starting to get back up and Tajiri nails Helms with the buzzsaw kick across the back of the head. Tajiri covers Helms for the 3 count to win the match.
Winner and still Cruiserweight Champion Tajiri

Backstage Big Show barges into Heyman’s office and grabs Heyman by the neck. Heyman is screaming with pain. Heyman begged Big Show not to hurt him. Big Show knows that Heyman is up to something. He knows that Heyman will get him back for the incident on Smackdown two weeks ago. He thinks that Heyman will rig the draw and will place Big Show in an impossible situation next week. Heyman apologises to Big Show and he will do anything Big Show wants, just let him go. Big Show knows that Kurt Angle is here tonight for his rematch but he had his chance and lost. Now he has to get back in line or win the tournament to get his opportunity again. Big Show wants a WWE title match tonight against Eddie Guerrero in a No Holds Barred Match so that he doesn’t have to compete in next week’s Smackdown lethal lottery tournament. He holds a victory against Eddie when he beat him for the US Title back in October and since Eddie became the champion, he never gave Big Show a title shot. Is Eddie afraid of him, damn right he is because just like his US Title reign ended, Big Show will end his WWE Title reign. Heyman says what about Kurt? Show grabs Heyman by the throat again and Heyman screams and tells Big Show he’s got his match.

Match 2
Rhyno vs Rey Mysterio

Rhyno jumps Rey before the bell even rings. Mysterio comes back and dropkicks Rhyno over the top rope. Rey hits a baseball slide and then a high cross body. Rhyno catches him with a brutal spinebuster and clotheslines Rey. Rhyno continues to maul Rey with power moves and gets a powerslam for a two count. Rey comes back with a hurracarana, springboard high cross body and a reverse DDT. Rey goes up to the top and Rhyno catches Rey and slams him. Rhyno sets Rey up for the gore but misses. Rey hits the 619 followed by the west coast pop and pins Rhyno for three count.
Winner: Rey Mysterio

In the back Heyman is in real pain and Torrie and Dawn come inside his office. They ask Paul if he’s fine and he should have the night off and take a few weeks rest. Heyman said No, he won’t back down and if they continue to ask him questions then he will give them the night off and a few weeks off Smackdown. Dawn asks Paul if he wants a massage and surprisingly Heyman didn’t want a massage. Heyman called them over just to let them know that next week they will be assisting him for the draw for the lethal lottery. A-Train another former Heyman guy barges into the office and starts yelling at Heyman and wants to know why Rhyno attacked him for no reason last week. Heyman said he’s had a bad night so far and if A-Train lays a hand on him then he will be fined and suspended. Heyman tells A-Train that he let him down two weeks ago and he had to be taught a lesson but that wasn’t the real lesson. If A-Train thinks he’s so tough then he will face an opponent of Paul’s choice tonight. If A-Train backs out of the match he will lose his spot for next week’s lethal lottery tourney.

Kurt Angle’s music hits and he’s not in a good mood. Kurt grabs a mic and talks about Eddie Guerrero being lucky not to face him tonight but demands to know why Big Show is getting the title shot when he doesn’t deserve it. He wants answers from Paul Heyman and he wants the answers NOW. Paul Heyman appears on the video wall and he’s like now what. Kurt wants Paul to change the main event for tonight. Heyman said he can’t do it. Paul said Big Show threatened him so he was forced to name Show as the #1 contender. Kurt said what if he threatened Paul now and broke his neck just like he broke Edge’s neck. Paul told Kurt he can’t even suspend him because to suspend him is a reward for Kurt so that he gets away from Edge. Paul told Kurt that Edge will be here tonight and he can show up anytime so now that Kurt isn’t getting his title shot tonight, he better get out of here in the interest of his public security. Paul said he is not going to be responsible for what happens to Kurt if he doesn’t get out of here. Kurt said he can deal with Edge, infact Edge is a coward and won’t show up because he’s afraid of him. Paul said if Kurt lays a hand on him then he will remove him from next week’s tournament and then it will be a very long time till Kurt gets a title shot again. Kurt had enough and started to make his way to the back to find Heyman. Kurt’s walking down to the ramp and Edge’s music hits. Edge meets Kurt at the ramp and Kurt is shocked.

Edge chases Angle and Angle falls down and Edge hammers away at Angle. Angle gets in the ring and starts stomping away on Edge. Angle goes for the Angle Slam but Edge slips out and hits the Edgecution on Angle. Fans are loving this. Edge grabs a chair and Angle is back up and tries to escape. Angle tries to crawl up to the the ramp to safety but Edge chases him down and destroyed him with several chair shots to the back and hits Angle on every part of his body as Angle lied on the entranceway. Edge has totally lost it. Edge drags Angle all the way down to the ring and places the chair down on the mat. Edge picks Angle up and hits the electric chair drop right on the steel chair. Angle is just out cold and isn’t moving. Edge grabs the steel steps and brings the steel steps into the ring and places Angle on the steel steps. Edge grabbed a chair and he’s getting ready to deliver a con-chair-to but Rey Mysterio runs down and stops Edge from continuing on the assault. Rey tries to talk sense into Edge and tells him enough is enough now the damage has been done. Edge told Rey to get out the ring and not get involved in his business. Rey pleads with Edge and Edge shoves Rey down to the mat. Rey again pleads with Edge so Edge listens and gets out of the ring with Rey. Rey calls for officials but Edge quickly slips back in and blasts Angle by delivering a vicious con-chair-to Angle’s neck. Rey starts yelling at Edge and the cheers for Edge turn to boos. Officials make their way out to attend to Kurt. Edge celebrates at the top of the ramp, leaving Angle in a bloody heap. Edge has totally snapped.

As we return to Smackdown, Michael Cole and Tazz showed a video and recapped what had just happened with Edge and Kurt Angle. They also showed Angle being attended to by WWE doctors after the brutal assault from Edge. They put him in a neck brace and on a stretcher. He gets carried away in a stretcher and then gets taken away in an ambulance. Rey Mysterio decided to help out by going to the hospital. Most of the locker room is out there helping and showing concern. However they show Edge being interviewed backstage and Josh Matthews thinks Edge went too far.

Edge explained his actions and maybe he went too far but he has been waiting for over a year for this. He was limited in what he could do in life and right now he made sure Angle is the one with a limited life. Being out for over a year made him into a vicious lunatic. Edge said he used to be fun but Kurt Angle turned him into this bitter raving lunatic. Oh people are feeling sorry now for Angle, but what about him when he was out. People did not get to see what Angle did but just because they saw what he did it makes him look bad now. Well he doesn’t care because he did the right thing and delivered on his promise and his mission is accomplished. If people think he was right then they are right to cheer him but if they think he went too far then they are right to boo him and he doesn't give a damn. From now on we won’t be seeing Kurt Angle in action for a very long time. Edge mocks Angle by saying oh it’s true, it’s damn true.

Match 3
6 Man Tag Team Match
John Cena, RVD and Booker T vs The FBI

This was a decent contest and at the beginning the FBI started to team up against Cena who made a comeback and tagged in RVD. RVD knocked Nunzio down with a kick to the face. RVD followed up with the rolling thunder. Tazz mentions that we could end up seeing RVD and Booker T going against each other next week and the same goes for the FBI. Mid-way into the match Stamboli and Chuck stomp on Booker outside. Booker is back up and walks down the apron as RVD comes off the ropes and knocks Booker accidently down. RVD turns around to see what just happened and apologises and gets rolled up from behind and just kicks out at 2. Booker is laying on the floor and is pissed at RVD and doesn’t want to get back in the ring. Booker leaves and makes his way down to the back making it a 3 on 2 match. The heels got in a decent amount of offense taking advantage of the 3 on 2 situation. Near the end of the match Cena hits the FU on Stamboli and pins him for the 3 count.
Winners: John Cena, RVD and Booker T

Backstage Booker T is being interviewed and he says he can’t believe how foolish RVD was to make that mistake. RVD walks through the curtain with Cena and argues with Booker for walking out but Booker blames RVD. Cena tries to calm things down and said come on guys, we are all champions. It was just a mistake from RVD and they should really let it go. Cena tells RVD to apologise to Booker for accidently knocking him off the apron and Booker to apologise to RVD for walking out. Cena doesn’t want an apology from Booker, he just wants them to make up. RVD apologises but Booker doesn’t. He told Cena he’s got this and Cena walks away. RVD asks Booker T what’s wrong with him because since moving to Smackdown, his attitude has changed. On Raw they enjoyed working as a team. It’s been 2 weeks now that they’ve been on Smackdown and he wants to know what is it with this attitude he’s had lately. Booker T said he has no problem being on Smackdown but since WrestleMania this is the 2nd time RVD made a mistake. At WrestleMania, RVD was the one who was pinned and they lost the Raw tag team titles. Tonight he accidently nailed his tag team partner.

RVD explained to Booker that he made up for each mistake. At WrestleMania, they won the 2nd fall to become champions again but this time by winning the Smackdown belts. Tonight they made up for it by winning the match even if it meant that they won in a 3 on 2 match. Booker says oh so you think you can do better without me, maybe it’s time if we went solo because as a team YOU will continue to make the mistakes. Booker wants to be US Champion or WWE Champion, as tag team champion he has to carry this team and can’t afford to have RVD making more mistakes. He would rather do things his own way. RVD in a cocky way says what you mean carry this team, we work as a team and tells Booker it was a mistake, they can be the greatest tag team ever, no team can touch them. There’s no body he’d have as a tag team partner than Booker. They made their debuts in the WWE around the same time, they were in the Alliance together, they were tag team champions on Raw and now they’ve come together to Smackdown. It just can’t end like this. RVD extended his hand and Booker finally agreed to continue teaming up with Van Dam. Booker reminded RVD that next week is the lethal lottery tournament and he wants to win the tournament. RVD says may the best man win and he asked what if they end up facing each other on opposite teams. Booker had a stunned look on his face and said tell me you didn’t just say that.... and he walks off.

Match 4
A-Train vs Kane
A-Train comes down to the ring. Kane’s music hits and he’s A-Train’s opponent. Decent big man brawl. A-Train and Kane hammer away at each other and A-Train knocks Kane down with the bicycle kick. Winner: Kane

Post-Match Kane grabs a mic. He hoped that Undertaker does not end up as his tag team partner next week and if he does he will cause major destruction on Paul Heyman and the rest of the Smackdown roster.

Backstage Interview with Eddie Guerrero. Eddie said Kurt Angle was running his mouth about getting a title shot but he had his chance and lost and now it looks like he won’t be getting one for a long time. Eddie guaranteed that by the time Kurt is back, if he's back then Latino Heat will still be champion. Eddie talked about Big Show holding a victory over him and that was the past. Eddie said tonight he will shut Big Show up once and for all.

JBL makes his way down to the ring and before he talks about the lethal lottery tournament he shows footage of his life history and how he got rich. JBL told the fans that someday they can be like JBL. Fans started booing JBL and they started the “What” chants. JBL then discussed the tournament and how he could end up with a partner he’s never teamed with before or someone he doesn’t like. More “What” chants and JBL stopped and said those chants should only be on Raw and not on Smackdown. JBL continued and said he’s so rich that he can pay them his opponents off to throw the match, he can pay his foe to co-exist with him but he won’t do that because he wants to doesn’t want it to come the easy way. He will prove that he is the greatest wrestler in the WWE. The “What chants” got louder and JBL was getting pissed off and started to insult the fans and said he will continue on and on and on and won’t leave till they stop.

People like him are the ones that founded America, he is a great American. He is an American hero, he’s a self made millionaire. He’s richer than all of you people and all you people are pathetic. Fans started booing him heavily. JBL was going to offer a lucky fan a chance of earning money but he’s not going to do that in this stinking city and he will save that for a better city. JBL guaranteed that no matter who he teams with next week, he will advance to the battle royal. JBL’s music hit as he left the ring.

Backstage Val Venis is in Heyman's office and Heyman tells Val that he will give Val an opportunity he never had on Raw, Val will be competing in the lethal lottery tournament for a chance to become the #1 contender. Val was very excited. Heyman said that there could be more to come from Raw, he will find out from Bischoff if he's up for a talent trade. In the past Bischoff stole his ECW talent and now he's signed Val. He will find out from Bischoff if they can negotiate with each other on which wrestlers to trade.

Big Show chokeslams Eddie into the announcers table. Show is wasting time and throws Eddie back in and goes for the cover and Eddie kicks out at two. Show works on Eddie’s back and throws Eddie down and stomps away at Eddie. Big Show chops away at Eddie and press slams Eddie. Show exposes the steel turnbuckle and starts taunting Eddie. Show places Eddie on the top of the steel turnbuckle and signals for a top rope chokeslam but Eddie rakes Show’s eyes and rams Show’s head on the exposed steel turnbuckle. Eddie takes Show down with a flying clothesline. Eddie hammers away at Big Show. Eddie locks in the Lasso From El Paso to weaken Show’s knee. Show is screaming in pain as he tries to make it to the ropes. Show uses his power to make it to the ropes. Show is in pain.

Eddie goes outside and grabs a chair and clips Show’s knee. Show is making it back to his feet and Eddie charges into Show and walks into a spinebuster. Big Show goes for the chokeslam and covers and Eddie gets his foot on the bottom ropes. Show goes for another chokeslam and Eddie lowblows Big Show and hits the DDT. Eddie goes to the top rope and hits the frogsplash. Eddie covers... 1...2....3. Eddie Guerrero retains the title and beats The Big Show. Eddie slips out of the ring and celebrates in the crowd.

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Smackdown Review:

Opening Segment- I like the idea of the tag team matches and the possible outcomes can lead to many interesting things for Smackdown. The winner of it getting a title shot is also a good idea because that can make a midcarder a main eventer while giving them credibility by beating main eventers in the tournament. This is also a good way to form new teams and alliances.

Match 1: Tajiri vs The Hurricane- I would have liked The Hurricane to win the title but i am glad he didn't win it on smackdown. I'd rather him do it at a pay per view.

Big Show and Heyman Segment- I liked how you made Big Show look menacing and it seems like you are building him up for a big win or a title victory. A Big show vs Heyman feud can also workout if you decide to do that. I am looking forward to seeing how you continuously develop Big Show in this.

Edge and Angle Segment- I liked this segment a lot. A feud between the two looks like it will be interesting and maybe a Angle and Rey Mysterio alliance or a Mysterio vs Edge feud would also be a good feud to have.

RVD and Booker T Segment/Match- This is an interesting possible feud that could be very good. I am interested to see what happens in the Lethal Lottery with these two.

Kane Segment- I liked how Kane won the match and i am curious as to what will happen with The Undertaker and him in the Lottery and if they are against each other or teaming up.

JBL Segment- I like how since he didn't have a match you had hi cut a promo and i have a feeling that he might become the Number 1 contender

Main Event- I am glad that Eddie kept the title as i don't think he should lose it yet and on Smackdown instead of on PPV. Eddie came out very strong and the Big Show/Heyman feud was bumped at the end again. Good main event.

Overall it was a good show and i am looking forward to the Lethal Lottery/Battle Royal for the number 1 contendership. Keep up the good work. :)

Re: WWE 2004: Road to WrestleMania XX

Thanks for the feedback. I always wanted to see the WCW Lethal Lottery/Battle Bowl concept in the WWE, too bad we will never get it. I’m doing this in my btb as it goes well with my storyline and it also gives certain stars pushes to advance to the next round. I may use this concept for Raw but that would be after that draft. It's a concept that was used in WCW and for my next Raw show, Bischoff will have a lot to say about Heyman stealing an idea from WCW.

Another concept i was keen on introducing sooner was MITB but decided not too.

I was going to introduce Mordecai in this btb to start off a feud with Taker or team up with Kane but decided not to. Would have been good but no point in having him for three months when he lasted around less than three months in the company. I will not have Mordecai, Luther, Kenzo Suzuki, Tyson Tomko and most of the divas in the diva search contest in this btb. Eugene, Carlito, Simon Dean, Muhammed Hassan and Chris Masters will debut in this btb in the month they actually debuted in so it remains kinda realistic.

Tonight for the first time ever on Raw we will see a LIVE SEX celebration as Christian will have sex with Trish Stratus. Will Christian and Trish follow through on their promise and will Chris Jericho come looking for revenge?

Chris Benoit will also be in action as he will defend his title against Matt Hardy. The opportunity for Hardy was going to come soon but Hardy has requested the General Manager to have his opportunity at the gold tonight.

For the first time ever we will see the legendary Nature Boy Ric Flair against the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley. At WrestleMania they went at it in a 3 on 2 match. Last week they went at it in an 8 man tag match but tonight it’s one on one. Who will be victorious tonight in this classic battle between two legends?

All this and much more on Monday Night Raw.

WWE News and Notes

Kurt Angle is taking a few months off as he is having neck injury. This is the reason why the injury angle was done on Smackdown. Kurt is expected to be back in July. Kurt may be kept on television in a non wrestling role however the creative team feel it is best to keep Kurt off tv until he is fully healed and cleared to return to in ring action.

WWE has come to terms on the release of Smackdown diva Nidia. We wish Nidia the best in all future endeavors.

After months of negotiations, the WWE and Steve Austin have been unable to come to terms on a new contract and as a result have mutually agreed to part company. Both parties have left the door open to work together again in the future and the WWE wishes Steve the very best in his future endeavors.
