Thanks for the review. Much appreciated as always. I'm not going to put up a predictions template as it would be a waste of time since you were the only that put up predictions for it. You can still post your predictions if you like. I will have the show up by next week. Should be an awesome ppv.

WWE King of the Ring
June 13, 2004, Columbus Ohio

Final Card along with Preview

World Heavyweight Title I Quit Match
Chris Benoit (c) vs HHH

Triple H has waited 2 months to get his rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship after Chris Benoit made Triple H tap out at WrestleMania 20. Now he finally has it by winning a Triple-Threat Elimination #1 Contender's Match by beating Jericho and Shawn Michaels to get this opportunity. Now this rivalry has intensified over the past few weeks and now it finally comes to a head. All members of Evolution are banned from ringside. The final encounter between these 2 men. No excuses, no more chances, no more rematches. The beginning of the end of this rivalry once and for all as it will be in an I Quit Match where everything is on the line in this match. If Triple H loses he can't get no more title shots for as long as Benoit is the World Heavyweight Champion. If Chris Benoit loses he must leave RAW and go back to Smackdown and he can't get a rematch. Which man will walk out the World Heavyweight Champion? Which man will suffer the ultimate defeat, who will say I Quit this Sunday at KOTR?

WWE Title No Disqualification Match
Eddie Guerrero (c) vs Edge

Eddie Guerrero ever since becoming WWE Champion has overcome the odds time and time again but Edge may be Eddie Guerrero's toughest opponent yet. Edge has become psychotic these past few months becoming obsessed with the WWE Championship. First by putting Kurt Angle on the shelf and then turning on his best friend Rey Mysterio and in the process turning on his friend Eddie Guerrero. Edge now has one goal and that is to become WWE Champion and get rid of Eddie Guerrero once and for all. Now these 2 former friends now turned bitter rivals will go at it for the WWE Championship at King of the Ring in a NO-DQ match. In the past, they had a NO-DQ match which Edge won but this time it’s personal and for the WWE Title. This Sunday at KOTR, who will walk out WWE Champion?

Interpromotional 30 Man Battle Royal
Winner receives a heavyweight title shot at their brands next ppv

15 Raw superstars: The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, William Regal, Eugene, Charlie Haas, Rene Dupree, Sylvan Grenier, Rob Conway, Maven, Garrison Cade, Johnny the Bull, Chuck Palumbo and The Dudleys 15 Smackdown stars: The Undertaker, Kane, Mordecai, Rey Mysterio, Booker T, Val Venis, Rhyno, The Hurricane and Shannon Moore, Kidman, Paul London, Chavo Guerrero, Tajiri, Jamie Noble and Nunzio
15 men from RAW, 15 men from Smackdown, only one man can win this huge Battle Royal. The stakes are high in this match with the winner getting a championship match at their brand's next pay per view. The favorites in this match are The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Undertaker, Kane, Mordecai, and any one of them could win it all. Then there are the underdogs like Rey Mysterio, Eugene, Maven, Tajiri, Charlie Haas and much more. This match can give any one of these men a date with destiny in becoming a champion once again. As for the superstars who no one expects to win, this match could help skyrocket them to superstardom. 30 men, fighting for one chance, one dream, one opportunity, a chance to become the #1 contender. This Sunday who will win the battle royal?

King of the Ring Tournament
Winner receives a title shot at SummerSlam

Quarter Finals

Randy Orton vs Shelton Benjamin
Batista vs Chris Jericho

Matt Hardy vs John Cena
John Bradshaw Layfield vs RVD

Semi Finals
Randy Orton or Shelton Benjamin vs Batista or Chris Jericho
Matt Hardy or John Cena vs JBL or RVD

+ The Finals

8 men fighting for the opportunity to be crowned King as four superstars and four superstars from Smackdown compete in the King of the Ring tournament. Only one can become King as this tournament has been used to skyrocket superstars into becoming legends like for example Bret The Hitman Hart, Owen Hart, Stone Cold and Triple H and this tournament helped make their careers. This Sunday at KOTR any one of the 8 men in the tournament either RAW's Chris Jericho, Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton, Batista and Shelton Benjamin. Or Smackdown’s United States Champion John Cena, JBL, RVD and Matt Hardy will become the 2004 King of the Ring. This year’s King of the Ring tournament looks to be the best one yet and not only will they have the prestige of being a King, they will have the distinction of going from a superstar into a legend all in one night. Not only will the winner become King, he will also receive a championship match against their brand’s champion at SummerSlam. Who will be King this Sunday at KOTR?

KOTR Preview

For the World Heavyweight Championship, Benoit vs HHH in an I Quit Match for the World Heavyweight Championship, as for who wins, my sentimental pick would be Benoit retaining but I see HHH winning the World Title, and Benoit leaving RAW to go back to Smackdown

For the WWE Championship my odds on pick to win the NO-DQ match would be Edge, beating Eddie Guerrero to become the new WWE Champion

My pick to win the Interpromotional 30-man Battle Royal has gotta be The Rock, winning the Battle Royal and getting a World Heavyweight Championship match at Vengeance

As for who wins the King of the Ring tournament, my odds on pick to win is JBL making good on his guarantee and getting a WWE Championship match at SummerSlam against whoever the WWE Champion happens to be

King of the Ring Preview

I must say I haven't had the time to read through you thread thoroughly in the last few weeks, but, I couldn't help but to stumble upon your preview for a King of the Ring Pay-Per-View that looks stacked, so, here goes.

HHH Vs Benoit (I Quit)

I can't see either men facing the consequences of what this match has in store for each men if they were to lose. Logic states that for Benoit to go to SmackDown! would at least give him the chance at another Top of the Card Title, meaning the WWE Championship. But, I can't see Benoit quitting...

PREDICTION = HHH

Edge Vs Guerrero (No DQ)

Eddie & Edge already one of those matches and even though Eddie was the more conniving, Edge came out victorious. If my theory holds and that HHH is to win the I Quit Match, Benoit would shoot straight for the Champion over on SmackDown!, and since Benoit & Eddie are best of friends, Edge would be the perfect target for Benoit. Especially with Edge's turn of hearts, his viciousness has far surpassed that of Eddie.

PREDICTION = EDGE

30-Men Battle Royal (15 RAW + 15 SD! Wrestlers)

Alot of names, alot of big names in this one, and, it being an actual Battle Royal, differing from the Royal Rumble concept, makes this an all out affair where really, anyone could win. Basing myself on the predictions I already made in the WWE & World Heavyweight Title matches, my picks would be The Rock or Shawn Michaels from RAW and Undertaker or Kane from SmackDown!. Kane & Undertaker are sort of busy with Mordecai from what I understand, more so the Undertaker than Kane though. Rock & Shawn Michaels though, two great adversaries of HHH's.

PREDICTION = THE ROCK

King of the Ring Tournament

Randy Orton Vs Shelton Benjamin = ORTON
Batista Vs Chris Jericho = JERICHO
Matt Hardy Vs John Cena = CENA
JBL Vs RVD = JBL

Randy Orton Vs Chris Jericho = JERICHO
John Cena Vs JBL = JBL

Chris Jericho Vs JBL = JBL

Overall, I'd give this Tournament to either Orton or Rob Van Dam; Orton needs that extra little push and Van Dam is the most entertaining guy in your roster but JBL is tailor made for the King of the Ring gimmick.

So here goes mate. Can't wait to see everything unfold!

Thanks guys, the ppv will be up next week.

WWE News and Notes
Many WWE officials are very much anticipating the KOTR PPV. They are very confident that the KOTR PPV could very well be the best ppv of the year so far. With a stacked card and a great line up for the tournament, this could be the greatest KOTR PPV of all time.

The current favourites to win KOTR are Raw’s Batista, Chris Jericho and Smackdown’s JBL. Over the recent weeks they have been on a major roll. A lot of people have tipped JBL to go all the way to win and some have tipped the winner out of Jericho and Batista to go on and become the King. The winner of the KOTR tournament will go on to receive a title shot against their brand’s champion at SummerSlam. Randy Orton, RVD and John Cena are also in contention and the darkhorses are Matt Hardy and Shelton Benjamin.

The current favourites to win the interpromotional battle royal are The Rock, Shawn Michaels or The Undertaker.

William Regal is cleared to return to action and he will be competing in the battle Royal this Sunday at the KOTR PPV. William Regal is expected to turn face soon and form a tag team with Eugene. Currently Eric Bischoff is very fond of Eugene, he is a big supporter of his nephew but expect Bischoff to soon get tired of Eugene.

The WWE draft will be held on Raw(July 12) the night after the Vengeance ppv. Expect an announcement to be made on the draft in the next couple of weeks. WWE officials have discussed moving Rene Dupree to Smackdown and Rhyno to Raw. No news yet on the big names that could be switching brands.

The Great American Bash ppv will be held 2 weeks after the King of the Ring PPV. It will be a Smackdown exclusive PPV.

Teddy Long failed in his attempts to manage Maven so now he will be looking to manage someone else.

Officials are very pleased with Tajiri’s work as Cruiserweight champion. He has given the division a major boost by putting on great matches and taking on all challengers. Officials are thinking of splitting up Kyo Dai which could lead to Akio turning heel and receiving a major push in the cruiserweight division. Funaki is likely to continue his role as an announcer while making brief appearances in the cruiserweight division.

Vince McMahon is very pleased with the current direction of Smackdown. After Brock Lesnar's departure and injuries to Kurt Angle and The Big Show, many stars have stepped up on Smackdown. Vince is very pleased with the work of WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero, the rise of Edge as a main eventer who is strongly tipped to win the WWE Title this Sunday. John Cena as United States Champion. He is also very fond of the JBL character and several other stars such as Kane, Booker T, RVD, Rey Mysterio, The Undertaker and Val Venis.

Officials are discussing whether to send Chris Benoit to Smackdown if Benoit loses his world title match this Sunday. If Benoit was to leave Raw then on Smackdown he would be working against the likes of Eddie Guerrero, Edge, Booker T, JBL, Rey Mysterio and many more.

This news is pretty good, and I for one cannot wait now until the draft on July 12

For the King of the Ring pay per view this PPV could be the best of this entire year 2004 as this pay per view itself will probably be reviewed on the New Year's Eve show in terms of matches of the year that they will showcase and the tournament and the match card itself also looks great, better than any KOTR PPV in recent memory

Current favorites in this tournament are Chris Jericho, JBL, and Batista, that much I will agree with you, and Orton, Cena, Shelton, and Hardy as darkhorses to win this tournament, that much I agree with as well, but my pick to win this tournament overall is JBL. I see JBL winning KOTR and finally getting his shot for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam facing whoever the WWE Champion will be at SummerSlam.

Current favorites in the Battle Royal are Rock, HBK, and Taker, my pick to win the Battle Royal is The Rock winning with Rock getting a World Heavyweight Championship match at Vengeance

Regal and Eugene as a tag team, they could have potential, and Eugene could be a star on RAW, and Bischoff should be glad to have his nephew on RAW, his nephew could have easily went to Smackdown and been a star over there on Heyman's show and I want to see this face turn of Regal's, should be interesting

WWE Draft my favorite night of the whole year where any names could get drafted, even big names like maybe Kane getting drafted over to RAW or perhaps even someone like Shawn Michaels getting drafted over to Smackdown or John Cena perhaps getting drafted, anyone could get drafted

GAB ppv as a Smackdown-only PPV, can't wait and as for Teddy Long, since he can't manage Maven, I wonder who he will try to manage next?

Vince loves the direction Smackdown is heading in, and I for one happen to be one of the masses who actually agrees with him because on SD it is the brand of the "rising stars" who will soon be main eventers but still having that veteran presence on their brand

Tajiri as Cruiserweight Champion, love it, but what would be even better is if Kyo Dai do break up and they all go their separate ways with Akio turning heel because if he does, he would make a great Cruiserweight Champion and Funaki is better at being an announcer than being a wrestler but I am really interested again in seeing the direction you go in, Kintaro.

If Benoit does end up going to Smackdown, it would be interesting to see him go for the WWE Championship seeing as the competition he would have to go through on Smackdown would see him feud with the likes of Kurt Angle, Booker T, JBL, Eddie Guerrero his best friend, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Kane, Taker, and much more, with Benoit on their brand it would only add to their star power

Vince reminds Regal that this is a great opportunity for Regal to become the number # 1 contender for his brand's title. It would be a great success story for Regal to come back from injury and become #1 contender in his first match. Vince wishes them luck in the battle royal and walks off.

Vince meets the GMs. Vince said he had to be here tonight because he is looking forward to this event. He’s also going to make sure that Eric and Paul be on their very best behaviour tonight because for the first time ever, they will all sit back and watch the ppv together. John Cena vs Matt Hardy

John Cena’s music hits as the United States Champion makes his way down to ringside for our opening contest. Michael Cole says lets take you back and show you how John Cena got here. They show a quick clip of John Cena defeating Val Venis to qualify for the tournament. John Cena wants everyone to make some noise for their next KOTR, the United States Champion John Cena. John Cena said he’s not been in the best shape recently but tonight the doctor of thuganomics is going all the way to become the King of the Ring. He cuts a rap promo on Matt Hardy and makes fun of Mattitude. Cena states that Matt’s going to suffer a lethal dose of an F-U. Matt Hardy Version 1.0’s music hits as Matt Hardy comes down to the ring. A clip is shown of how Hardy got here as he defeated Tajiri in the qualifying round. Here we go the bell rings and the quarter finals begin. Time is very crucial in this round as it is only a 15 minute time limit. If the match goes past 15 minutes then both men will be eliminated. There will be no sudden death over time.

John Cena and Matt Hardy start off with a collar & elbow tie up with both men locking up. Hardy looking for an advantage pokes Cena right in the eye. Hardy hits a standing dropkick on Cena to go for the quick pin 1...2..Cena kicks out. Hardy begins to go to work on Cena's head by taking down Cena with a snapmare and then locking in a headlock. Cena then fights out of it and gets back up to his feet. He lifts Hardy over his shoulders and is he going for the F-U early. It seems like he isn't, Cena hits a Samoan drop on Matt Hardy to pin him and Hardy kicks out at 2. Cena sees that Matt Hardy is down and he does his You Can't See Me taunt. He starts pumping his shoes going for a Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena then goes to bounce off the ropes and Hardy notices what is going to happen as he pops right back up to his feet. Hardy hits a Side-Effect on Cena to pin him 1...2....2 1/2, Cena just kicked out. Hardy goes up to the top rope to deliver a moonsault and Cena moves out the way with Hardy eating canvas. Cena starts taking it to Matt Hardy by mounting on top of him beating the holy hell out of him with rights and lefts until Cena gets off of Hardy. Cena waits for him to get up. Cena then whips Matt Hardy into the corner turnbuckle and runs at Hardy full speed for a corner clothesline but Hardy move out the way with Cena hitting the turnbuckle. Matt Hardy runs into the corner, grabs Cena for a bulldog and Matt Hardy hits a bulldog on Cena from the corner. He goes for a cover and Cena kicks out at 2. Matt Hardy is taking it to Cena mounting on top of him hitting Cena with rights and lefts. Hardy places Cena on the ropes and stands on his back doing his V1 taunt to Cena to add insult to injury. Matt Hardy reverses an irish whip and hits the ricochet. He goes for a cover and Cena kicks out at 2. Hardy whips Cena to the corner and runs into a boot. Cena doesn’t go for a cover but goes for the Five-Knuckle Shuffle and this time Cena hits it. He goes for a cover and Hardy kicks out at 2 ˝. Cena then goes for the F-U as soon as Matt Hardy gets up. Matt Hardy realising he is in the F-U position slides off of Cena from behind and Hardy hits a chop block on Cena to take Cena down to his knees. Hardy ducks a clothesline and hits the side effect. He goes for a cover and Cena kicks out at 2. Hardy waits for Cena to get up and he’s getting ready to hit Cena with the twist of fate. Hardy goes for it and almost has it but Cena pushes Hardy off. Cena then lifts Hardy up and drops him with the F-U. He goes for a cover 1...2..3.. It’s over Cena moves on to the Semi Finals. Cena celebrates with the fans and he will meet the winner of JBL vs RVD in the next round.
Match Result: John Cena defeated Matt Hardy to qualify for the Semi Finals
Match Time: 4:50

Backstage the general managers look at the brackets of the tournament on a board. Cena has advanced to the Semi Finals. Heyman moves JBL’s name right to the final. Bischoff moves Orton and Batista’s name to the Semis but he can’t make his mind up who will go to the final. Paul asks Vince McMahon to make his prediction. Vince said it’s very tough to call, anyone can win this. Bischoff decides to move Batista’s name all the way to the finals and puts Batista’s name over JBL’s. Heyman gets angry and argues that JBL will win. Both GMs argue and Vince tells them both to shut up and told them not to be over confident. We could see RVD getting past JBL because RVD was the finalist of the last KOTR tournament. Vince also said we could even see Shelton Benjamin the darkhorse in this tournament getting past Randy Orton. Shelton could go all the way and win this tournament. Paul says he was the one who introduced Shelton into the WWE and he thinks Shelton can go a long way in this tournament. Eric disagreed and Vince said we will soon find out because that match is next.

King of the Ring Quarter Final Match
Randy Orton vs Shelton Benjamin

Shelton Benjamin’s music hits as he makes his way down to the ring. Shelton became the first man to qualify for the tournament and a clip is shown of Shelton defeating Ric Flair to qualify. The Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton comes down next. A clip is shown of Orton defeating Maven to qualify. Shelton wastes no time by hitting a baseball slide dropkick to knock Orton down. Orton hasn’t even made it in the ring yet and the match hasn’t even begun. Jerry Lawler thinks this is unfair to Orton. Shelton rolls Orton back in as the referee gets rid of the Intercontinental belt and rings the bell as the match officially begins. Smart move by Shelton as he knows that time is very important in this match. Shelton starts hammering away at Orton with some right hands. He sends Orton to the ropes and delivers a back body drop. Orton charges into Shelton and gets an armdrag from Shelton. Clothesline by Shelton. Orton reverses a whip and sends Shelton into the corner. He charges into Shelton who leapfrogs over Orton and rolls Orton up for a cover and Orton kicks out at 2. Orton is frustrated in the early going and rolls out of the ring. He goes for a cover and Shelton kicks out at 1. Orton sends Shelton to the ropes, Shelton ducks a clothesline from Orton and Shelton hits a flying forearm on Orton. Hip toss by Shelton. Shelton then clotheslines Orton over the top rope. As Orton is about to get up, Shelton goes to the ropes and takes Orton down again with a diving plancha. Both men start brawling outside and get back in at 8 as they fight on the apron. Shelton suplexes Orton back in the ring. He goes for a cover and Orton kicks out at 2. Shelton goes to the ropes and runs into an elbow by Orton. Orton hits a great standing dropkick on Shelton and Shelton kicks out at 2. Orton gets a headlock on Shelton and starts delivering some clubbing blows into the chest of Shelton. Shelton manages to get back on his feet and elbows out of the hold. He goes to the ropes but runs into a scoop powerslam by Orton. Orton goes for a cover and Shelton kicks out at 2.

Orton whips Shelton hard into the corner and then delivers a 10 punch on him in the corner. When he gets to 6, Shelton counters into an atomic drop. Clothesline by Shelton. Belly to back suplex from Shelton and Orton kicks out at 2. He whips Orton into the corner and then goes for a stinger splash but Orton moves out the way and dumps Shelton to the floor. My career as he not only put me on the shelf getting his revenge. As for Edge when he came back he decided to make it personal by attacking him and nearly ending his career but he didn’t quite get the job done. As long as me and Edge are on the same show I will personally ensure that he never becomes WWE Champion. It’s damn good to be back on Smackdown oh it’s true, it’s damn true.

Benoit gets in and goes to the ropes but HHH catches Benoit with a knee lift. HHH whips Benoit into the corner and headbutts Benoit into the midsection. He sends Benoit to the ropes, baseball slide by Benoit and Benoit hits a clothesline on HHH. He hits another clothesline and HHH goes flying over the top rope to the floor. HHH very frustrated in the early going. Benoit suplexes HHH back in, Benoit whips HHH to the ropes and hits a back elbow to the face of the game. Benoit then rams HHH’s head three times into the turnbuckle and HHH is staggering in the ring. Benoit goes for a crossface and HHH frantically escaped and rolls out the ring. Benoit follows HHH out and they brawl outside. HHH reverses a whip and sends Benoit into the ring post. He rolls Benoit back in and hits a backbreaker. HHH goes for an abdominal stretch. He holds on to the ropes for more leverage as this is all legal as it’s an I Quit match. The referee asks Benoit if he quits and Benoit yells No.

Benoit counters and hiptossed HHH over the top rope and to the floor. Benoit tries to go for a snap suplex but HHH blocks and knees Benoit in the midsection. HHH hit a DDT on Benoit on the floor. HHH then bounces Benoit into the steel steps causing them to separate. HHH drops Benoit stomach first onto the barricade. He then whips him into the ring post and then sends Benoit into the barricade shoulder first and then out into the crowd. Benoit battles back as HHH and Benoit fight into the crowd. Benoit puts the crossface on HHH in the crowd and wants the referee to put the mic to his face while he has the hold. Benoit says come on HHH do you quit and Benoit changes his mind and says he’s not done. The crowd is loving this. Benoit releases the hold and starts hammering away at HHH. Benoit tossed HHH back out and now they fight near the Smackdown announce table. HHH ducks a punch and takes Benoit down with a neckbreaker. HHH grabs the world heavyweight title and raises it in the air and taunts Benoit telling him to his face that the world title is coming back to the game. HHH cracks Benoit in the skull with the world heavyweight title. HHH then places Benoit on the table and starts talking. He demands Benoit to quit now or he will inflict more punishment on him. Benoit fights back but HHH knees Benoit to the gut and Benoit is back down again. So HHH is about to pick Benoit up for the pedigree but Benoit low blows HHH and HHH falls off the table. Benoit goes after HHH and rams HHH’s head into the ring post. Benoit then catapults HHH into the ring post and the game is busted wide open. Benoit sends HHH back in the ring. He crotches HHH in the ring post and rams HHH’s leg into the post. Benoit then starts to stomp away at HHH’s knee. He places HHH’s leg on the ropes and jumps on HHH’s leg and the game is in pain.

Benoit applies the figure four and the referee asks HHH if he wants to Quit and HHH says No. Benoit releases the hold and whips HHH into the corner and charges at HHH but HHH just moved out the way as Benoit goes into the turnbuckle. HHH knocks Benoit down with a clothesline. HHH then sends Benoit hard into the turnbuckle with Benoit getting dumped upside down over the top rope and on to the floor. This gives HHH some time to recover. Benoit is now on the apron and HHH suplexes Benoit back in the ring. HHH then starts to beat up on Benoit. HHH locks in a Figure-Four Leg Lock reminiscent of HHH's Evolution teammate Ric Flair. HHH is telling Benoit to quit over and over again. The ref is asking Benoit if he wants to quit, Benoit yells No. HHH is livid and breaks the hold. HHH goes over out on the outside to grab a chair. He’s back in and goes for a swing on Benoit who ducks and dropkicks the chair in HHH’s face. Before Benoit can do any damage with the chair, HHH hits a low blow to Benoit sending Benoit down on his knees. HHH then locks in an Indian death lock. HHH has the hold locked in as he holds onto the ropes to apply more pressure and Benoit is fighting the pain. HHH rams Benoit’s knee into the canvas a few times to add more pain to Benoit and while he was doing that he gets out the hold. HHH drags Benoit near the corner and HHH crotches Benoit on the ring post and rams Benoit’s knee on the post. HHH then work’s on Benoit’s arm. He starts stomping away at Benoit’s arm. HHH places Benoit’s arm on the ropes. HHH then drops an elbow right on the arm of Benoit. This is good early strategy from the game trying to work on Benoit’s arm to prevent Benoit from using the crossface. HHH continues to work on Benoit’s arm. He sends Benoit into the corner and runs into a reverse elbow by Benoit. Benoit looks for a german suplex but HHH elbows Benoit in the face. Swinging neckbreaker by the game. HHH goes for an armbar and tells the referee to ask Benoit if he quits or not. Benoit says no.

HHH kicks Benoit in the face and misses an elbow drop. Benoit is back up on his feet and delivers a chop to the chest of HHH. The bruises are beginning to show on both men. Benoit whips HHH hard into the corner and follows up with a snap suplex. Benoit goes up to the top rope. Benoit is going to hit the headbutt but HHH moves out the way as Benoit hits the canvas. Triple H starts to put the boots to Benoit. HHH whips Benoit to the ropes and misses a clothesline and Benoit hits the german suplex. He hits three more and here we go one more german suplex and he hits it. HHH tries to get back to his feet and Benoit knocks him back down with a low dropkick to the knee of the game. Benoit then locks in a Dragon Sleeper on HHH and then turns it into a Rear Naked Choke on HHH. Benoit is exerting a lot of force with this hold, and Benoit is telling HHH to quit. The ref asks HHH if he wants to quit and HHH yells Hell No. Benoit eventually lets go of the hold and goes out on to the outside to get electrical wires and he brings them into the ring. Benoit then begins to choke HHH out with the wires. HHH is struggling to get out and Benoit chokes HHH out with the wires. The ref asking HHH if he wants to quit, he can't even say it because he is unconscious right now. Benoit with a mic then tells the ref that HHH would say you will have to kill me, and then the match is still continuing. Benoit then puts the sleeper but suddenly the game gives Benoit the jawbreaker to get out of it. HHH whips Benoit into the ropes and delivers a spinebuster. HHH waits for Benoit to get back to his feet. HHH sets up for the pedigree but Benoit reverses and goes for a crossface and strikes HHH in the back to get him down but HHH reverses back into the pedigree postion. Can he get the pedigree and Benoit reverses again into the crossface but he can’t quite get the cross face on. HHH reverses and gets a low blow on Benoit and plants Benoit with a pedigree. The game getting very desperate here. HHH grabs the mic and mocks Benoit who is knocked out with a pedigree. He tells Benoit that the belt is his life, he demands Benoit to quit right now. Benoit is still down so HHH hits Benoit in the face with the microphone.

HHH waits for Benoit to get back up again and it looks like HHH is going to hit another pedigree. They are near the ropes and HHH goes for the pedigree again but Benoit manages to backdrop HHH over to the floor. The action spills outside of the ring and both men are fighting it out. Benoit sets the steel steps which were separated earlier on beside the announce table. Benoit goes charging at the announce table where HHH is and Benoit is running at full speed running on the steel steps jumping them but HHH sees him coming and somehow reverses it into a Spinebuster through the announce table sending both men through the announce table, both men are down. HHH is the first man to be up on his feet. He goes under the ring to get a screwdriver. He gets the screwdriver and drives it into Benoit's skull. HHH is opening Benoit up with the screwdriver putting into that open wound and HHH is asking Benoit to quit. The ref is asking if he wants to quit, Benoit says No, Triple H is still driving the screwdriver into his skull, Benoit is busted open by this time a lot. HHH sends Benoit back in and delivers some punches to the face of Benoit. HHH charges off the ropes trying to clothesline Benoit back down on to the canvas but Benoit reverses this by ducking out of the way. Benoit hit’s his Triple German Suplexes, and then HHH is down. Benoit takes HHH up to the top rope. Benoit’s going to hit a superplex and he hits it. Both men are down with Benoit up to his feet first. Benoit delivers a snap suplex. Benoit goes outside the ring and grabs a long steel chain from under the ring. Benoit gets back inside and hits HHH with the steel chain across the skull. Benoit whips HHH into the corner but HHH reverses and sends Benoit face first into the turnbuckle. Benoit staggers in the ring and HHH hits a pedigree. HHH goes outside the ring and he pulls out his sledgehammer from under the ring. This doesn’t look good for Benoit. HHH comes back in the ring, he’s measuring Benoit up. Benoit is slowly getting back to his feet and HHH is about to hit Benoit with the sledgehammer. Before HHH can hit him with the sledgehammer Benoit takes HHH down by his legs and HHH drops the sledge hammer. Benoit goes to get the steel chain link. He wraps it around HHH's feet tying the link together.

Benoit locks in the Sharpshooter with HHH's legs being tied up in a steel chain link but HHH still has the sledgehammer in his hands while he is in this hold. The referee is asking HHH if he wants to Quit. HHH is saying nothing as he is screaming in pain but he isn’t uttering the words I Quit. Benoit has the Sharpshooter on for a long time and both men are a bloody mess. Benoit has the Sharpshooter on HHH for an extensive amount of time. With the pain getting worse and worse, the ref is asking Triple H if he wants to quit, and Triple H says I Quit, I Quit, I Quit. Benoit finally lets go of the hold, and the referee calls for the bell and the match is over. Chris Benoit wins to retain the world heavyweight title and remains on Raw. Benoit’s music hits as the crowd is going nuts here, what a battle. The rabid wolverine has proved that he is still the man and he’s staying on Raw. Chris Benoit then celebrates with his title all bloody, battered. He needs to be helped up but Benoit eventually is able to stand under his own power while HHH needs to be carried out on a stretcher. Chris Benoit stands on the top rope and raises the belt in the air as the KOTR ppv comes to a close.
Match Result: Chris Benoit defeated HHH to retain the world Title
Match Time: 20:26

KOTR Review

- Sunday Night Heat as a way to hype up the pay per view, I loved it and then comments from the KOTR participants on tonight's tournament loved it and Mr. McMahon comes to see Regal and Eugene and then ending it off with Vince and the GMs watching the PPV together, loved it

- Not bad Victoria beats Molly Holly to retain her WWE Women's Championship, love it

- Great way to open your King of the Ring pay per view, as King of the Ring is now officially back on pay per view and especially with the opening package highlighting past KOTR winners and then the tournament participants for tonight and how one of these 8 men tonight can become king and then the Battle Royal, and then the World Title matches for tonight, awesome, can't wait

- John Cena beats Matt Hardy to qualify for the King of the Ring semi-finals, in what I thought was a great match-up between both men as they seem to have a lot of chemistry together in the ring, back and forth all the way through but with Cena coming out on top, I love it

- Randy Orton beating Shelton Benjamin to qualify for the Semis, also a great call, because 2004 is the year of Orton and he's proven it so far by beating Shelton but I really thought Shelton was going to pull it off but Orton comes out on top in the end, great!!!!!!!

- Edge's backstage promo about his match-up tonight against Eddie for the WWE Championship, I am a believer in Edge tonight, he is going to do it, he is going to become WWE Champion for the first time in his career ending Eddie's title reign

- JBL beats RVD to qualify for KOTR, great match-up, I thought this match-up was RVD's to win since in the last KOTR tournament before this one in 2002 RVD went all the way to the finals but I guess this time around it isn't the case. JBL is my pick to go all the way and win this, RVD sorry about your luck!!!!!!!

- Benoit/Eddie backstage segment about having to defend their titles tonight and wishing each other luck and believing in each other, the best of friends, and should Benoit lose and come back to Smackdown, I would love to see these 2 hook it up

- Batista/Jericho was a great back and forth match-up as it could have gone either way, but it ends in double countout, and then a brawl ensues after the match-up, something tells me a feud is going to happen between Y2J and Batista especially now, Orton gets a bye straight to the finals, I love it because Orton goes all the way to the finals now without even really having to compete now

- Backstage segment again with the GMs arguing and Vince having to separate them by warning them that if they don't stop, they will have to take over each other's shows once again with it becoming permanent and the GMs don't want that to happen, great comedic segment all around

- Cena beating JBL to qualify for the Final, love it, but after the match JBL assaults Cena because he is a sore loser and he just snaps until Rey comes out to save Cena from getting pulverized even more, but what kind of shape will Cena be in for the final?

- Coach/Rock/HBK backstage segment, I loved it especially when Rock was cutting his promo on the battle royal for tonight only to get interrupted by HBK, now I definitely want to see these 2 do battle tonight in the battle royal as well as in the future

- Booker T winning the battle royal, what a controversial win for Booker, now he goes on to the Great American Bash to face the WWE Champion, but HBK eliminating Rock the way he did, and then Rock costing HBK the Battle Royal in return, I loved it, I especially loved it when Taker got eliminated but then after he just went ape shit and snapped and then eliminated Mordecai and then attacks Kane and then goes over to Paul Bearer only for Mordecai to make the save and these 2 monsters brawling all the way to the back, great!!!!!!!!!!!!

- GAB package to advertise the pay per view, and then Eddie Guerrero and Booker T having a confrontation backstage, loved it

- Eddie Guerrero vs Edge if anything this has to be Match of the Year for 2004, this was such a great match-up all the way through, so many high-flying spots, and not only that but this match was brutal all the way through with it being so physical and then Kurt Angle making his shocking return at the King of the Ring as a masked man costing Edge the WWE Championship, and then Eddie taking advantage to retain his title, love it, lying, cheating, stealing to its fullest!!!!!!!! Then Kurt after the match attacks Edge even more by locking in the Ankle Lock and then having to be pulled off by referees before he can do even more damage but that is not even the story here. The story is that Kurt Angle is back, and now that he is back, Edge better look over his shoulder everywhere he goes!!!!!!

- Kurt Angle with his return promo talking to Josh Matthews, I loved it, now that Kurt Angle is back, he wants one thing, revenge on Edge and one way or another this rivalry is just getting started, oh it's true, it's damn true

- Coach interviewing the finalists before their big match, and then Evolution and Cena backstage loved the interaction here especially when Cena cut a rap on every member of Evolution and when Cena dissed Flair, I loved it especially when Cena did a Woo right in Flair's face and Evolution having to restrain Flair, and then Cena cutting a rap on HHH about his match for when he faces Benoit saying how he is going to quit, and he is going to start crying getting no more title shots, Cena disses Orton to cap it all off and he walks away like a boss, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA loved this segment the most

- Orton wins King of the Ring, this I am happy with, a whole lot, now that Orton is now King of the Ring, if there was ever a 2004 Slammy Awards, Orton would be in the running for Superstar of the Year for 2004, already the IC Champion, wins his first ever Hell In A Cell match-up against Mick Foley retiring Mick Foley, and then being a bonafide Legend Killer and then winning KOTR beating Cena in what I think was Match of the Night thus far perhaps even beating out Eddie/Edge. This was a great back and forth match-up all the way throughout and HHH costing Cena the KOTR, loved it, and then Evolution celebrating with Orton and him being coronated, loved it

- Heyman not happy about the final, who can blame him, Evolution gets involved, and now Orton a RAW superstar wins KOTR, but it doesn't matter because SD won the Battle Royal, so it is all good anyways

- Benoit beating HHH to retain his World Heavyweight Championship in an I Quit Match, an emotional I Quit Match all the way throughout, this match is a bonafide classic in my book and now this means HHH he gets no more title shots as long as Benoit is champion, this makes me happy because HHH is no longer in the main event and can't compete for the World Heavyweight Championship, and Benoit bloody and battered retains his title in a great match-up, now this match-up, this right here beats out Orton/Cena now as Match of the Night perhaps Match of the Year by far

- Altogether great KOTR PPV and I can't wait until RAW, for the fallout from this pay per view, should be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

King of the Ring Review

SUNDAY NIGHT HEAT

Everything that needed to be said was said, and, the table was neatly put for the pre-show. A nice little women's match never hurt anyone as well.

S1 - OPENING VIDEO

I like how the opening was build up to bring prestige back to the Tournament. The evolution of yesterday's kings and todays possible new king.

MATCH 1 - Hardy Vs Cena

Good opening contest, the crowd obviously behind Cena for good reasons. Cena advances without any real surprise there.

S2 - McMahon, Heyman & Bischoff Part 1

I like how you've set up a backstage interaction/story for your PPV. Sometimes, PPVs fall flat because the breather we need to get in between matches is not entertaining enough, having those three in the same room is golden. I would have prefered them to be in a skybox somewhere, but, with the actual live interaction they had later on, everything was then understood on my part.

MATCH 2 - Orton Vs Benjamin

What else can I say other than WOW! Match of the night for sure. Everything was crips, it really spoke for just how good both men are in the ring and the chemistry that they have with one another. Bravo.

S3 - Edge Interview

Good interview, I only think you should drop the Ultimate Opportunist monicker, since Edge didn't have that back then and that you've booked him as sort of a psycho willing to do anything to get by rather than someone who looks to weasel his way to victory.

MACTH 3 - JBL Vs RVD

A good match, the pace was kind of awkward with such polar opposites facing off against one another. I really digged the ending though. I can easily picture RVD being contorted in half after the Clothesline from Hell.

S4 - Eddie & Benoit

I really loved that interaction. A great way to capitalize on their WrestleMania moment and, at the same time, a great glimpse into both men's possible futures after the night's end.

MATCH 4 - Batista Vs. Jericho

The match in itself was great, but, what really made this one stick is the surprise of the double countout. That one really caught me by surprise and it's a great booking decision. Every WWE; every great tournament featured the odds on favorite heel receiving a bye of some sort to get that extra advantage on the odds on favorite face. Let's just see now if Cena gets through to the finals.

S5 - McMahon, Heyman & Bischoff Part 2

Again, great stuff.

MATCH 5 - JBL Vs Cena

The match was okay, and, Cena won and that's cool because that'll set up a great Tournament finals match. I like how you stacked the deck against Cena by having JBL pound him after the match.

S6 - Rock Interview

Tremendous interview to set up the Battle Royal, especially with the involvment of HBK... What a match that would be...

MACTH 6 - Battle Royal

I really like the whole concept behind this Battle Royal and it's something refreshing for the return of the King of the Ring PPV. The Battle Royal was filled with everything you'd expect in a Battle Royal and with Booker T. winning and everything that happened and that could be set up because of that in the future, it's tremendous for the continuation of your story.

S7 - Booker & Eddie

Great interaction between two future opponents... or possible future opponents. I really got a laugh out of the Now Can You Dig That Sucka Orale Vato from Eddie.

MATCH 7 - Edge Vs Eddie (No DQ)

A really tremendous contest, but, it's not the match of the night because there were just too many dropkicks in there and no man that gets to perform in a No DQ match has got enough spring in his legs to do as many as those. The dangerous spots were amazing though and, Angle returning is really awesome. The ending was brilliant because, Eddie could have easily just pinned Edge after the Angle attack, but, with everything that Edge had done in previous weeks, it was sweet revenge for Eddie to fly from so up high and to deliver the Frog Splash in such fashion as to really put this thing to rest. Kudos.

S8 - Angle Backstage

I think Matthews just ate a few spit balls from Mr. Angle. Great from-the-heart dialogue by Angle. And on the spot reactions are just that much better.

S9 - Evolution + Cena Interview

A great way to build up the Main Event even more. I really loved the interaction and the bullying going on, but I really even more enjoyed the comeback from Cena.

MATCH 8 - Orton Vs Cena (KORTR Finals)

The second best match of the night. Orton, you really have him down to a tee in his matches. But, even if Cena isn't up to part with him technically, both men have such great chemistry, it works. The match was filled with drama all throughout and the false finishes at the end were amahzing. I really digged the Cena beatdown but not the involvment of HHH. It didn't necessarily not have is place there, but, with HHH being in the Main Event next, that's overkill for HHH appearances.

S10 - Coronation Ceremony

The ceremony was fine, everybody was celebrating a good time so, good stuff.

Match 9 - HHH Vs Benoit (I Quit)

Sort of a letdown. Alot of stuff didn't follow suit with the actual meaning of the match. Yet, there were glimpses of greatness (i.e. The brawl through the crowd with the Crossface on the floor; The Spinebuster reversed through the table, etc.) You had one picture that didn't match the action and the picture of Benoit at the end didn't show him with a bloody face like you described. That's the tricky thing about pictures, even though I'm a huge fan of those. They must match your description. Nonetheless, the ending came rather quickly and unexpectedly, still, the right man won.

OVERALL = 7.6 Doink wigs out of 10

A lot of high points, as mentioned in the above review, and some low points, also mentioned in the above review. The actual booking of the matches was maybe to your disadvantage. As important as your title matches were, this is a once in a year event called KOTR, and, the Main Event not being about that was a let down to me. I would have opened with the Battle Royal to set the tone for the show, and then, intertwined the title matches with the tournament rounds. Still, pretty much everything was delivered with A+ satisfaction as far as the outcomes were concerned. One other thing, the lenght of the event was quite short. I only counted just over 90 minutes of actual wrestling action for a three-hour PPV. Most of the matches (i.e. Battle Royal & KOTR Finals), were WAY too short for their importance on the card. Other than that, great work mate. A great PPV indeed.

Thanks for the reviews guys, I’m glad you enjoyed the ppv. I hope that the next ppv will be as good as the KOTR. I would have written up a match description for Victoria/Molly on Heat but it's only Sunday Night Heat. I just wanted to discuss things on Heat that are mainly related to the KOTR PPV. I did give descriptions for the heat matches on Backlash and Judgment Day but that was because i had build for the womens match. I also wanted to have a match description for Mordecai's first match which was on Heat.

LegendofBaseball- I was actually going to go with more longer matches but i worked out that the length of my ppv is almost 3 hours anyway. The total wrestling action time for my ppv was around 96 minutes. 1hr 36 mins. My original plan was for the length of wrestling action to be 105 mins but i had to cut down on match times due to some of the backstage segments i wanted to include. Then entrances take a lot of time especially the battle royal. That’s why i had some stars come out to the Raw theme and Smackdown theme. Then some stars came out to their own themes. Taker’s intro is almost 4minutes. Another example is the start for the ppv: KOTR Vid Package: 3 Mins, Announcers welcoming the fans to the show: Around 1 Min 30 secs, Cena’s theme + his rap promo speech takes up a good 4-5 minutes, Hardy entrance 1 ˝ minutes + clips of how the stars qualified, Post-Match celebration 1 ˝ minutes. HHH's theme takes up a good 2 1/2 minutes. Coronation ceremony takes up at least 6-7 minutes. Video packages for the title matches are around 3-4 minutes. Most of the backstage segments involving the GMS are around 1 ˝ minutes or 2 minutes. The Rock’s promos are kinda long so that also takes up a few minutes. Angle’s promo is around 2-3 minutes. I decided to add all that up and it’s pretty much a full 3 hour ppv. I wanted Trish to have a backstage segment as well because i wanted Trish on the ppv but i decided to have her come down and do commentary for the Jericho match. As it was an interpromotional ppv i wanted to get some of the extra things in there just to add to the ppv and build towards future storylines. For my single brand ppvs, wrestling action will be longer.

It was quite difficult to add more time to the matches and i wasn’t going to go with a bye but due to time constraints i had to. So i decided to protect Jericho and Batista by having them both get eliminated and if someone was going to go over in that match then it would have been Jericho. A Jericho/Orton semi final would have been definitely a fun match and i would have given it a lot of time. If i did the quarter finals on tv and not on ppv and started off with the semis on ppv then i would have had a lot longer matches. The original plan was for the final to go 13 minutes but i had to cut it down. The battle royal i decided to have this match because a lot of stars did not have a match so too many important stars were left off the ppv and this is why i wanted to include most of them. That’s why i came up with the battle royal match.

I do agree with you that the battle royal would be the way to go by opening the show but i wanted Cena to open the show so he can have some time in between his matches to rest. Plus i wanted to do the battle royal right before the WWE Title so this way Booker can meet Eddie backstage. Eddie/Edge was going to be my main event but i wanted to have Kurt do his speech so that's why i decided to go with HHH/Benoit as the main event.

As for the pictures, yes it’s quite difficult to find pictures. I wanted an image of Benoit holding the belt up to close the show but couldn’t find a picture of Benoit with a bloody face. Also in some pics you may notice different colour ropes, sometimes it’s red, sometimes it’s blue lol it’s just hard to find the pics i specifically want so i just manage with what i can find. For example on one of my shows you may see a Smackdown picture of Haas and Benjamin for my Raw show. Since Haas wasn't on Raw during that time period, you will probably see WGTT's Smackdown pictures but i won't show the Smackdown logos in the pictures for the Raw show. So that way it doesn't look too bad.

WWE News and Notes

Dream Match
The idea of a possible dream match between The Rock and Shawn Michaels was discussed back in March but it didn’t quite work out as The Rock was not keen on the idea of working a match against Shawn Michaels. The Rock and Shawn Michaels have never seen eye to eye and the plan was for both of them to work a match against each other at WrestleMania but it didn’t work out. It looks like now both superstars have agreed to work with each other. Both men have decided to be professional as it would be a huge match for the company. The creative team have already started plans for a Rock/Shawn Michaels dream match. At the King of the Ring the seeds were planted when Shawn Michaels superkicked The Rock out of the battle royal. Immediately Shawn was thrown out by Booker T and Booker T became the winner of the battle royal. The current plan right now is for a Rock/Shawn Michaels match taking place at SummerSlam. We will keep you updated if there is any progress in this story.

Now that Kurt Angle is back, expect an Edge vs Kurt Angle match at the Great American Bash. This will be Kurt's return match. Expect an announcement to be made on Smackdown this week.
