Eric Bischoff returns to Raw

Highlights are shown of what went down on Raw and Smackdown last week including the devastating tombstone on Eric Bischoff. The Raw video package plays as the announcers welcome us to the show. Eric Bischoffís music hits as he comes down to the ring in a neck brace. Eric is not in a good mood. Eric says he was going to come out and say itís great to be back but after what happened to him at the end of Smackdown, he certainly didnít deserve that. The fans actually cheered for this. Eric bashes Smackdown and heís glad that The Undertaker didnít win the WWE Title last night at Judgment Day. He hoped that he doesnít cross paths with The Undertaker again, he doesnít want him on Raw. He addresses what Paul Heyman did last week, he made a joke out of his show. He booked a match between HHH and Benoit vs 11 guys. Is Paul Heyman out of his mind. He hoped that was the first and last time Paul Heyman controlled Raw because he did an awful job of it. Bischoff says when he went to Smackdown last week, the ratings went up and what did he get in return at the end? A tombstone. He takes shots at several Smackdown stars such as Edge, RVD, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, JBL and John Cena. Speaking of John Cena and JBL, they claim that they will win the King of the Ring, well thatís just not going to happen and a Raw star will win. He books qualifying matches for tonight. In the first qualifying match which is coming up next we will see Evolutionís Nature Boy Ric Flair against the man who pinned him last week, one half of the tag team champions Shelton Benjamin. In the other qualifying match tonight we will see Batista against the other half of the tag team champions Charlie Haas. He hoped that no one bothers him tonight because heís not in a great mood and he needs the rest. HHHís music hits as he storms down to the ring. A mic is handed to HHH and HHH said heís not here to rub salt on Ericís wounds. Last week Paul Heyman denied him of a title shot and made him team with Benoit. 11 guys beat the hell out of him last week. He was patient for a while but last week after the beating he took last week, he couldnít wait any longer. Heís the best in the business, Raw's number one guy. He's waited for 2 months now for his rematch and now that Ericís back heís going to do the right thing and give him his rematch.

Eric says HHH has every right to be mad and he knows how important HHH is to Raw. However HHH has lost two #1 contender matches. He even lost a match against The Rock at Backlash and then others moved up to be in contention. He can't abuse his power and award a title shot just like that to HHH. He reminds HHH that they have always been on great terms, in the past he handed the world title to HHH. HHH appreciates what Eric has done for him but he doesnít give a damn about the other contenders. He is the number one priority on Raw. He should always be the first in line for a title shot. The Rockís suspension ends this week and heís back next week, before he gets back and gets a title shot, HHH wants his rematch tonight. Eric tells HHH to calm down. HBK comes out on the stage and says he still has unfinished business with Evolution. He was the only man to take Benoit to the limit and believes he can beat him. He reminds HHH that he beat him to become the # 1 contender for the title at Backlash. HHH and HBK start arguing until Chris Jericho comes out on the stage. Jericho said he won at Backlash and HBK and HHH lost their matches. The 4 way match a few weeks ago, he would have won but Christian stole the victory. He main evented Raw last week and ended his feud with Christian by beating him in a brutal barbed wire cage match. If there is anyone who deserves the shot more then itís him. He knows Benoit more than both of them and heís taken him to the limit in the past. Itís about time he gets his shot. Eric says he really doesnít want to deal with any more headaches tonight. So he decides that Chris Benoit will be defending his world heavyweight title at the King of the Ring against the winner of tonightís match. He books a triple threat elimination match between HHH, Michaels and Jericho. HHH was furious at this decision. Eric tells them that he wants no excuses because this is the best possible way to settle this. He also adds that the first man who gets eliminated tonight will then end up in the KOTR tournament qualifier against Rene Dupree next week. As for the guy who is the 2nd man eliminated, he will decide something for him next week. Eric leaves and itís going to be one action packed Raw tonight.

In the back Charlie Haas and Shelton wish each other luck. They beat Flair and Batista last week in a tag match but tonight they are facing them in singles matches. They are not that used to singles competition but this is a big opportunity for them tonight to qualify for the King of the Ring Tournament. Sheltonís match is next.

Match 1
King of the Ring Qualifying Match
Shelton Benjamin vs Ric Flair

Last week the tag team champions defeated Flair and Batista. We already know that Sheltonís a great tag team wrestler. Now this is a great chance for Shelton to prove if he can shine as a singles star. This is no easy task as heís up against the dirtiest player in the game, the nature boy Ric Flair. JR believes that Shelton is a great athlete and this is a huge opportunity for him. Lawler thinks WGTT got lucky last week and tonight Flair and Batista will teach TWGTT a lesson. Who will become the first man to qualify for the KOTR tournament. The bell rings as both men lock up. Flair gets Shelton in a headlock and throws Shelton down to the mat. Flair starts strutting in the ring. He sends him to the ropes and gets an elbow on Shelton right in the face. Shelton comes back with an arm drag takedown, a hiptoss followed by a clothesline. Shelton mocks Flair and does the Flair strut. He backs Flair into the corner and Flair kicks Shelton in the mid section. Flair starts chopping away at Shelton. He whips Shelton into the corner and runs into a boot. Shelton takes Flair down with a spinning heel kick. Shelton delivers a suplex and Flair kicks out at 2. Flair gets a thumb to the eye. Flair gets a back suplex and gets a 2 only. Flair goes to the top but Shelton gets up and stops Flair with a press slam off the top turnbuckle. Insiguri by Shelton and gets 2 only. Flair sends Shelton to the ropes who leapfrogs over Flair and connects with a dropkick on Flair and gets 2. Shelton misses a stinger splash and Flair clips Sheltonís knee. Flair starts working on Sheltonís knee. Flair looks for the figure four but Shelton gets an inside cradle and Flair kicks out at 2. Flair gets frustrated and knocks Shelton down with a clothesline. Suplex by Flair and Shelton kicks out at 2. Shelton reverses a whip and sends Flair into the corner. This time Shelton connects with a stinger splash and delivers a t-bone suplex. He goes for a cover and gets the 3 count to defeat Flair. Big upset here as Shelton gets a great ovation from the fans. Shelton Benjamin has become the 1st man to qualify for this yearís King of the Ring. Will Haas join Shelton in the tournament tonight.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin

In the back Coach complains to Bischoff for what Heyman did to him last week. Bischoff tells Coach heís going to call Paul Heyman up later on. Trish Stratus walks in and sheís very upset. She takes shots at Paul Heyman for setting up a barbed wire cage match last week . She shows Eric the cover of this monthís magazine and Christian and Trish are on the front cover. He was going to be the biggest star on Raw but thanks to Jericho, Christian is now out of action for three to four months. Jericho may think he settled his score with Christian but sheís not done with Jericho yet. Heís going to pay for his actions. Eric calms Trish down and tells her that even heís not pleased with the way Raw went down last week but promises to make it up to Trish. Eugene and Regal show up. Eugene goes over to hug Trish but A-Train gets in his way. A-Train challenges Eugene to a match. Before A-Train gets his hands on Eugene, Bischoff tells A-Train and Trish to leave. Eugene hugs Eric but looks at Ericís neck brace and asks how did this happen. He even touches it and Eric starts screaming and says let go Eugene. Regal stops Eugene. Eugene wanted to know why his uncle didnít watch his 1st match last week. Eric explained that he was on Smackdown and thatís how his accident happened. Eugene asks who that fat bald guy was that was running the show. Eric starts laughing and said that fat bald guy was Paul Heyman and heís the general manager of a 2nd rate Show. Regal tells Eric that Eugene was great last week. Heyman forced Eugene to go out alone and compete and he still won. Eric says what Heyman did wasnít right but heís pleased that Eugene won his 1st match. He looks at Regal and tells him that he made the right choice to appoint Regal to supervise Eugene. Eugene jumps around on the sofa. Eric believes that Eugene will become a major star here on Raw. Eugene asks his uncle Eric to put his picture up next to him. Eric makes up some excuses and Eugene starts yelling and Eric says fine he will do that next week. Eugene then starts asking more annoying questions and asks his uncle that he wants to be General Manager like his uncle. The look on Regalís face was priceless. Eric tells Eugene when he becomes a huge star, someday he will get that opportunity. Eugene said he wanted to play with Trish Stratus. Eric told Eugene he can team with a diva of his choice to take on Trish and A-Train tonight. Eugene gets excited and hugs Eric again and Eric points at Regal to take Eugene away.

Match 2
King of the Ring Qualifying Match
Randy Orton vs Maven

Randy Orton comes down to the ring for his match. Orton gets a mic and talks about the King of the Ring Tournament. He points out that a few weeks ago he had a confrontation with Harley Race. Harley Race talked about his accomplishments and being King of the Ring was one of them. Race said Randy Orton has yet to be King and this is something that is next on the legend killers list of accomplishments. On Smackdown, John Cena and JBL claimed that they will win the KOTR and that no Raw guy stands a chance. Well this whole thing started when he confronted Harley Race. If there is anyone that will win KOTR then youíre looking at him. Orton brags about his accomplishments at such a young age. Heís got a qualifying match now and doesnít know who his opponent is so he wants his opponent to come down to the ring right now. MavenĎs music hits and he makes his return to action and he is in great shape. Maven was out of action due to injury. Orton says he didnít expect this, we havenít seen Maven in a long time. He makes fun of Maven. Maven started a few months earlier before Orton but look at him and look at Randy Orton. All Maven is known for is that one moment at the Royal Rumble when he eliminated The Undertaker but that was 2 years ago. Right now Maven is irrelevant and heís not in his league. Randy Orton is known for many memorable legendary moments. He may not be prepared for Maven but heís going to make quick work of him. Maven cuts Orton off and says during his time off, heís been watching Orton running his mouth for a long time and heís going to shut him up. This is a great opportunity for his career to take off and what matters the most is... Orton cuts him off and says ďTo quote an overrated Hollywood actor it doesnít matter what you think. Ring the bell.Ē The ref rings the bell and the match begins.

They lock up and Maven takes it to Orton with a few right hands. He whips Orton to the ropes and connects with a dropkick. Orton ducks a clothesline and starts delivering a few rights on Maven. Orton leapfrogs over Maven and hits a dropkick of his own and Maven kicks out at 2. Maven takes Orton down with a series of arm drags and Orton gets frustrated. Both men exchange right hands and Maven dropkicks Orton to the floor. Orton gets back in and reverses a whip and knocks Maven down with an elbow to the face. He gets a headlock as the fans get behind Maven. Maven is back up on his feet. Maven fights out of it and goes to the ropes and Orton kicks Maven to the gut and takes Maven down with a russian leg sweep. Orton starts pounding away at Maven in the corner and taunts him. He waits for Maven to get back at his feet and picks him up for a suplex. Maven slips out and rolls Orton up and Orton kicks out at 2. Maven gets a few rights on Orton. He delivers a reverse Russian legsweep and gets a near fall. Maven goes to second rope and delivers a bulldog and gets 2 only. Maven is really taking it here to Orton. He starts kicking away at Maven in the corner and yells ďyouíre looking at greatness Maven, youíre looking at the next King of the Ring.Ē Orton goes for a scoop slam but Maven slips out and rolls Orton up and gets 2 1/2. That was so close. Maven fights back and knocks Orton down with a few rights. Maven sends Orton to the ropes and takes him down with a spinning heel kick and gets 2 only. Maven goes to the top turnbuckle and goes for a high crossbody. He hits it but wait Orton rolls through and gets a handful of tights 1...2...3. He got him. Orton qualifies. Maven canít believe it, he had the match won but Orton used the tights to get some leverage and beat Maven to qualify. We now know our first quarter final match for the KOTR as Shelton Benjamin will take on Randy Orton. Orton celebrates on the ramp as Maven looks on and Maven is upset that he lost in his return match.
Winner: Randy Orton

Todd Grisham interviews La Resistance backstage. Rene is angry and calls Eugeneís win last week a fluke. However he is glad to receive an opportunity in the KOTR tournament. He doesn't care who he faces in the KOTR qualifying match next week because he will win. He vows to win the KOTR tournament. Conway and Grenier want another shot at the tag team titles and challenge TWGTT to a match in 2 weeks time in their hometown of Montreal, Quebec.

William Regal is reading the divas magazine and asks Eugene which diva does he want to team up with. Eugene wants to have a look at the magazine. Eugene gets excited and picks Torrie Wilson or Stacey but Regal tells him that they are on Smackdown so they go to the womenís locker room. Regal knocks on the door. Jazz and Molly end up making fun of Eugene and turn down his request down to team with him. Eugene gets upset. Regal tells him not to worry they will keep trying.

Match 3
King of the Ring Qualifying Match
Charlie Haas vs Batista

Earlier on Shelton Benjamin defeated Evolutionís Ric Flair to qualify. Will Haas do the same by defeating Evolutionís Batista? Or will Batista get his revenge from last week. The night did not start off well for Evolution as Flair lost. Orton can call himself lucky because Maven had him beat but Orton managed to qualify. Now will Batista be able to join Orton in advancing to the tournament. Jerry Lawler called Sheltonís win a fluke and believes that Haas stands no chance against the animal Batista. Batista is not in a good mood and this is not a good time for Haas to take on Batista, heís going to take his anger out on Haas. The bell rings as both men lock up. Dropkick to the thigh by Haas. Heís trying to weaken Batistaís leg. Good strategy from Haas. Haas is near the ropes and applies the Haas of Pain and this is a very painful move. Batista is able to get to the ropes. Back suplex by Charlie and Batista kicks out at 2. Batista reverses a whip and clotheslines Haas to the floor. Haas gets back in and Batista starts to dominate Haas with some power moves. Batista charges at Haas full speed and Haas moves out the way and Batista goes face first into the turnbuckle. Haas delivers a german suplex. 1..2.. 2 Ĺ Batista just kicked out. Haas goes for another german suplex but Batista elbows Haas in the face. Spinebuster by Batista. Here we go, Batista gets Haas back up to his feet and lifts him up and drops him with the Batista Bomb. 1..2...3. Itís over. Batista has qualified for the King of the Ring. Jerry Lawler said Haas put up a great fight but Batista was just too powerful for him. Lawler predicts that Raw has a winner right there, Batista will dominate everyone in the tournament. Lawler believes that Batista will win the tournament and JR seems to agree with him. Who can stop Evolutionís animal?
Winner: Batista

Eric Bischoff is on the phone to Paul Heyman. Bischoff was not happy with the way how Heyman ran Raw last week and starts insulting Heyman. Heyman fires back with his own insults on Bischoff. They are arguing on the phone and Bischoff said heís going to show Paul Heyman why Raw is the better brand. We just saw three KOTR qualifying matches tonight and the final qualifier will be next week. Eric guaranteed that a Raw star will win, Paul guaranteed that a Smackdown star will win. Eric mocked Paul and said if somehow a Smackdown star won, the winner may do what Benoit did when he won the Rumble. He could betray Heyman and come to Raw. Paul said thatís just not going to happen again. Eric stars laughing and hangs up on Paul.

In the back Eugene and Regal bump into Lita. Lita asks them that Eugene is looking for a diva to team up with them. She would be more than glad to team with him tonight. Her former boyfriend Matt Hardy didnít want to take Eugene under his wing but she sees a lot of potential in Eugene. She hugs Eugene and gives him a kiss and he gets excited. She tells Eugene lets go, and Regal gets shocked.

Match 4
Eugene and Lita vs A-Train and Trish

The bell rings and A-Train starts throwing Eugene around in the ring. Regal is enjoying this. Eugene starts countering some of A-Trainís holds which surprises A-Train. Eugene goes to the ropes and A-Train lifts Eugene up and delivers a press slam. A-Train misses a bicycle kick and Eugene takes A-Train down with a dropkick. Eugene gets a few rights on A-Train and until A-Train knocks him down with a clothesline. He tags in Trish so now Eugene has to tag Lita. The divas get it on and we have a catfight in the ring. Trish gets a thumb to the eye on Lita and gets a few rights on Lita. She sends her to the ropes and Lita comes back with a hurracarana. Trish reverses a whip and sends Lita into the corner. A-Train misses a charge so Eugene hits the stone cold stunner. Trish gets in to stop the count and starts seducing Eugene. Eugene gets excited. Lita gets in and starts fighting with Trish. Regal accidently trips A-Train up and Eugene hits the peoples elbow to pick up the victory. Eugene and Lita celebrate. Regal is shocked and Eugene starts hugging Regal.
Winners: Eugene and Lita

Evolution are in the back. Batista and Orton are celebrating their victories and they are looking forward to the KOTR tournament. Flair is a bit upset that he lost but Orton says he will make it up to Flair by beating Shelton Benjamin at the KOTR. He will then go on and win the tournament. Batista laughs and says wait.... you forgot that Iím also in the tournament, it wonít be Randy Orton that will win, it will be Batista who will win. Orton laughs and before it becomes a problem, Flair says no matter who wins out of you two we have to make sure it is Evolutionís night at KOTR. HHH congratulates Orton and Batista for qualifying for the KOTR. He encourages them to follow in his footsteps because he was also a former KOTR winner. Look at what it got him, that made his career. HHH then talks about his own match and he said a lot of guys have become an obstacle in his path. The Rock is suspended Christian is out for months and now there is 2 more to go. Tonight has already been a big night for Evolution and it will turn out to be even better when he goes through Michaels and Jericho to become the # 1 contender. Evolution wish HHH luck as he leaves and the main event is NEXT.

Main Event
#1 contenders Triple Threat Elimination Match
Winner faces Chris Benoit at King of the Ring
HHH vs Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels

Chris Benoitís music hits as he comes down to do commentary. HHHís music hits as the game comes down to the ring first. HHH looks over at Benoit and taunts him. Ever since losing the world heavyweight title, HHH has not been the same. Chris Jericho comes out next and he won the barbed wire cage match last week and he has to be a favourite here. HBK comes out next and he took Benoit to the limit at Backlash and if he wins tonight, he gets his rematch to take Benoit to the limit again. Lawler asks Benoit who he thinks will become the #1 contender tonight. Chris says it doesnít matter who it is, all of them are tremendous wrestlers. Michaels took him to the limit at Backlash and he would love to wrestle him again. He has history with Jericho because theyíve had great battles in the past and theyíve also held the tag team titles. Benoit then bashes HHH. He said he doesnít like HHH but last week HHH for a while did live up to his bargain by being a team player. However at the end he showed his true colours and attacked him. Heís sick and tired of hearing HHH whining and complaining about his rematch, well if somehow HHH wins tonight then at King of the Ring heís going to finally shut him up and beat him. If HHH doesnít win tonight then he should go to the back of the line and work his way back up again. This is not a regular triple threat match, this is an elimination match. If you get eliminated then itís down to one on one. The bell rings. At the beginning, HHH and Michaels are going at it with Jericho standing by in the corner watching these two go at it. Jericho comes into the corner and moves HBK out of his way to get his shots in on HHH. Then HBK moves Jericho out of his way to get his shots in again on HHH. They are moving each other out of each other's way to get their shots in on HHH. HBK and Jericho start going at it as they turn on each other and start trading rights and lefts. HHH rolls out the ring. HBK whips Jericho off the ropes and Jericho hits a flying forearm. HHH gets back on the apron and Jericho whips Michaels into HHH who gets knocked back down to the floor. Jericho rolls Michaels up and Michaels kicks out at 2. HHH holds the ropes which knocks Jericho to the floor. Now it is HBK and HHH going at it exchanging rights and lefts until HHH whips HBK off the ropes. HBK goes for a flying forearm but HHH ducks out of the way with HBK flying down which sends HBK out of the ring.

HHH starts getting all cocky and arrogant taunting to the crowd as Jericho gets back in. HHH whips Jericho to the ropes to deliver the high knee but Jericho counters into a spinning heel kick. 1...2....2 Ĺ, HHH just gets the shoulder up. Jericho takes HHH down with a bulldog and goes for the lionsault but HHH gets his knees up. He goes for a cover but Michaels gets back into break it up. Michaels delivers some knife edge chops to HHH and delivers a backdrop on the game. Michaels clotheslines HHH to the floor. Michaels whips Jericho to the corner, HBK goes for a charge, Jericho leapfrogs over HBK and rolls him up and gets 2. Jericho takes Michaels down and looks for the walls of Jericho but canít turn him over. HHH gets in and knees Jericho to the back. HHH sends Jericho shoulder first into the post. HHH gets a sleeper hold on Michaels but Michaels gets back up to his feet and counters into a back suplex. Michaels goes to the top but Jericho gets to the top and delivers a superplex on Michaels. Both men are down. HHH looks at both men and decides to cover Michaels and Michaels kicks out. He covers Jericho and Jericho kicks out. HHH and Michaels then team up against Jericho which is quite a surprise, until HHH turns on HBK and throws him to the floor. HHH whips Jericho into the corner and runs into a boot. Jericho takes HHH down with a bulldog. Jericho locks in the walls of Jericho and HHH is desperate to make it to the ropes. HHH just makes it to the ropes and Jericho now has to release the hold. Michaels is on the apron and Jericho suplexes Michaels back in. He whips Michaels to the ropes and they end up knocking each other down with a clothesline. Michaels kips up and so does Jericho at the same time.

They trade lefts and rights, Michaels ducks a punch and gets an atomic drop on Jericho. Clothesline by Michaels. Michaels tries to go for a sharpshooter but Jericho gets an inside cradle and gets 2 1/2. HHH is back in and now Michaels and Jericho double team on HHH and beat the hell out of him. Benoit is enjoying this. They take the fight outside the ring and HHH sends Jericho into the post. He turns around and gets superkicked in the face by Michaels. Michaels rolls HHH back in and goes for a cover and HHH gets his foot on the ropes at 2. Michaels gets a scoop slam on HHH. He now goes to the top turnbuckle and drops the big elbow. 1..2... 2 Ĺ the game kicked out. Jericho gets to the top turnbuckle and gets a crossbody on Michaels and gets 2 only. Jericho clotheslines HHH to the floor. Trish Stratus runs down to ringside and becomes a distraction for Jericho. Trish stands on the apron and distracts him, Jerichoís about to get his hands on Trish but she drops down the apron. Jericho turns around and gets planted in the face with a superkick from Michaels. Michaels pins Jericho for the 3 count and Jericho has been eliminated. Trish Stratus is laughing and leaves. Wait Michaels better turn around. Michaels turns around and HHH has a sledgehammer on him. He nails Michaels with the sledgehammer. HHH gets Michaels up to his feet and plants him with a pedigree. 1..2...3. Itís over. HHHís music hitís and he has become the # 1 contender. He has finally got his rematch and will face Chris Benoit for the world title at KOTR. Now that was a desperate move by HHH, he took advantage of Jericho being eliminated by Michaels only for HHH to nail Michaels in the face with a sledgehammer. Lawler says HHH waited two months to get his rematch and didnít want to blow another opportunity so he did what he had to do.

Winner and the # 1 contender for the world heavyweight title HHH

HHH celebrates his win and grabs a mic. He told everyone he would win and he did. Now itís only a matter of time till he becomes the world heavyweight champion again. Heís that damn good, heís the best in the business and he just proved it tonight. HHH starts taunting Benoit and told Benoit that his time as champion is finally running out. Benoit has had enough and goes straight to the ring. Benoit congratulates HHH on finally getting that rematch heís been desperate for. He just doesnít like the way how HHH won. Now he doesnít have to hear HHH whine and complain about his rematch. HHH says Benoit has had his small moment of fame. He is going to end Benoitís dream at KOTR. HHH claims that the world title is his life, being world champion is all that he is. People know him as the world heavyweight champion. At KOTR, itís going to be Evolutionís night. Benoit says Evolution are like a pack of wild dogs, you see after that beatdown they gave him last week, it proved that HHH canít get the job done by himself. HHH said he just beat Michaels and Jericho by himself. Benoit said it took a distraction for Jericho and a sledgehammer shot to the face on Michaels for HHH to pick up the win.

HHH is now furious and tells Benoit he can beat him in any type of match. Heís the game and heís that damn good, heís the best in the business and until Benoit doesnít beat him one on one he canít claim to be the best. Benoit told HHH to prove it that he can beat him without Evolution. Prove it that heís the best in the business because right now HHH is not #1, he is. He is the best in the business today. Benoit tells HHH he just said he could beat him in any type of match. HHH says thatís right. Benoit proposes a match where there are no pinfalls, no submissions, no rules. HHH looks confused. The only way to win is to make your opponent say I Quit, that way there are no excuses. Thatís right HHH how about an "I Quit Match." HHH accepts. He says Benoit claims to be the best but in this business right now youíre looking at the best and that is the game HHH. Chris has never said those magic words in his career but HHH says hes's going to humiliate Benoit and will make him say "I Quit." Benoit says if he loses the title at King of the Ring then he will have no excuses,. However if HHH loses then no more whining and complaining about another title shot. If HHH does not beat him at KOTR then no more title shots as long as Benoit is the champion. The final encounter with no Evolution at ringside. He asked HHH if he agreed? HHH looking very confident agreed and said at KOTR, GAME OVER. Benoit said prove me wrong. Benoit knocks HHH with a right hand, HHH is back on his feet and Benoit levels him with the title belt sending HHH to the floor. Benoit does his cut throat signal as his music hits. HHH backs up the ramp as Benoit stares him down from the ring. HHH is furious and heís yelling at Benoit. Benoit stares down HHH as Raw goes off the air.

RAW Review

I loved RAW, great episode to start the build-up towards one of the greatest PPVs on the whole calendar King of the Ring by having Bischoff announce King of the Ring qualifying matches for the RAW show, and then talking about what happened to him on Smackdown and how he received a Tombstone for making their show better and he hopes that The Undertaker & him never cross paths again because he hopes Taker will never be on RAW, you never know Bischoff you could just get Tombstoned again just for running your mouth about Taker and that you were glad that he didn't win the WWE Title at Judgment Day, but he was talking about how Heyman ran the show and that it became chaos with him running it.

I love the Bischoff-HHH interaction at the beginning of the show, and about how he has waited 2 months to get his rematch for the WHC whining and complaining only to be interrupted by HBK and then to get interrupted by Jericho

And then Bischoff setting up a Triple-Threat Elimination Match where the winner will face Benoit for the World Heavyweight Championship at the King of the Ring ppv

I especially loved when Bischoff ran down the Smackdown superstars by mentioning Edge, RVD, Rey Mysterio, John Cena the WWE United States Champion, and JBL by saying how a RAW star will win the tournament

Backstage segment with the WGTT I loved it, but only one of them can qualify for the tournament but if they are lucky, they will both qualify

Shelton Benjamin beating Ric Flair to qualify for KOTR, awesome match, could Shelton go all the way to the KOTR final, he could be a darkhorse

The Trish-Eugene-Regal-A-Train-Bischoff-Coach segment I actually loved it, and about how Trish is not done with Jericho yet, Jericho better watch his back and with Eugene doing one stupid thing after another, you just gotta love it

Randy Orton beating Maven to qualify for KOTR, awesome match all the way throughout, Maven had the match won and he took Orton to the limit, but Orton cheating to get the victory, typical Evolution style but I loved it, Orton is probably deemed "the favorite" to win the KOTR tournament

La Resistance backstage segment I loved it, as I just love them as a stable with Rene Dupree claiming how Eugene's victory against him was a fluke and how he is happy that he at least has the chance to qualify for KOTR and it does not matter who he faces because he will vow to win the tournament, and how Rob Conway and Sylvan Grenier challenge WGTT to a rematch for the World Tag Team Titles in 2 weeks in their hometown of Quebec, really great segment

Regal & Eugene segment with the Divas, loved it, especially Jazz and Molly making fun of Eugene and turning him down when it comes to teaming with him and Eugene getting angry and Regal saying how they will keep trying

Batista defeating Charlie Haas to qualify, really great call as Batista is now in the KOTR tournament, which Evolution member will win the tournament, will it be Batista or Orton?

Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman backstage phone segment, I always love it whenever they interact

Eugene finds himself a tag team partner in Lita, pretty good choice and what makes it even better is the fact that they beat both Trish & A-Train in a Mixed Tag Team Match. Eugene is on quite the winning streak, Eugene Eric's nephew is undefeated right now in his matches.

Evolution backstage segment with HHH, Flair, Batista, and Orton, I love it whenever I see Evolution one of the greatest stables in all of professional wrestling, in WWE history for that matter

HHH winning the main event to finally get his rematch, and the way he won it, typical HHH style having to resort to desperation just to win a match. And now it will be an I Quit Match at the King of the Ring PPV for the World Heavyweight Championship, and to "up the antie" if HHH loses, no more title shots as long as Benoit is champion, I personally love it, and then Benoit attacking HHH after, great move

Excellent RAW and I cannot wait until Smackdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raw Review

I enjoyed this episode, I thought the recap form would be difficult to read, But it turned out to be okay. The opening segment was good, I enjoy Eric Bischoff back here, And this is definetly an appealing time period to book WWE, Because you have everyone before they went downhill. It's kind of like the WWE is hanging off a cliff about to slowly nosedive, But you have the chance to save it.I thought the setting up of the triple threat main event was pretty good, And sounds like a very entertaining match.

I enjoyed Flair and Benjamin a great deal, I think they worked together well and Shellton was as exciting as ever. I don't know if he should win KOTR though, I just never have seen his a top level guy, More a very solid mid carder.

Trish and co segment was very funny, And it's one of those segments which I can really envisage happening on screen.I don't like Eugene as a character but I liked this segment so I hope I can go on to be entertained by Eugene in your thread. I think Trish is a great character performer, So I hope she gets used consistently.

I like how Orton cheated to beat Maven, It gives Maven a rub, That he is a threat to anyone. This was indeed an exciting and fast paced match and I personaly hope Orton wins the tournament.

La Resistance are decent wrestlers so I don't mind them being around. The interview was what I expected, Not much to say but solid and set things up nicely.

Another hilarious segment with Eugene, I am shocked I am actually enjoying Eugene, But I am. I guess it just goes to show that booking is very important in getting a character over, So yeah I think someone needs to tell that to Vince Russo. I have always thought Regal was a great comedy performer too, So I look forward to more of these segments.

Batista and Charlie Haas was a pretty good match, I have a suspicion you are going to crown Batista the KOTR, I think it should be Orton though, Although I do enjoy Batista.

Paul and Bischoff segment was good to read, I like both of them as GMs, And it apppears you are doing some very fun stuff with the two, I liked it back here when the brand extension still had a chance and the shows were feuding.

A very well written mixed tag match, I do find these sorts of matches quite fun to watch in real life, And this one was very well written, Surprisingly considering it involved Eugene. I liked Trish and Lita's exchanges, I am in fact a fan of both of them as wrestlers. A Train I actually did like too, So hopefully he can go on to be decent in this thread.

The main event was a lot of fun, And I could really imagine it happening, I found it very entertaining. I liked Jericho's offense most and Im happy to see him at the top of the card, Because I think 2004 was his best year to be a main event talent, That year everything seemed to click, So hopefully he wins the title eventually. HHH winning and then the match being an I quit was a good way to end the show, Leaving intrigue and interest to the match, And leaving the people talking.

Overall this is the first show I've read of yours, And I am impressed. Yes, I would have preferred a full show but I respect you may not have time to do so. Maybe you could do it once a month or something. I really like the angles and stuff you have going on, You are indeed a very good booker because your show was extremely entertaining, Well writen and everything made sense, Kept my interest and will keep me reading. I will carry on reading this thread, And go back and read some of the stuff I've missed, and I wish you a lot of luck buddy.

Thanks for the reviews guys.

WWE Smackdown
May 20, 2004

Judgment Day fallout show

Tazz and Michael Cole welcome us to the show. Edge’s music hits as he makes his way down to the ring to new entrance music. He's updated his "You think you know me" song. His new theme is "Metalingus" by Alter Bridge. He seems proud of what he did last night. A mic is handed to Edge. He explains his actions and told everyone that last night he made a statement. He did something so unprecedented that no one else in WWE history has been able to do. He took out The Undertaker, Kane, Mordecai, Eddie Guerrero, and Rey Mysterio single-handedly all by himself and he didn't need help to do it either. He talks about giving Rey Mysterio the biggest beating that he has ever received in his life in their match at Judgment Day. After that Rey tried to interfere in his business once again, he got a Con-chair-to for his troubles. After the Con-chair-to he has made sure that Rey will never want to face him again or even be in the same ring as him again. Edge says just look at him, he went through a brutal match at Judgment Day but still made an impact later on in the main event. He made a statement and now he will finish off where he started a year ago and that is to become Smackdown's fastest rising star. He starts to run down the fans in Las Vegas Nevada. He says you guys have the worst city in the world and if I were living in this city, I would be ashamed to be a part of it. Edge then runs down Kane and Mordecai by saying how they aren't the most powerful entity in the WWE. Edge proclaims himself to be the most powerful entity in the WWE and that he could beat Kane or Mordecai whenever he felt like it. He then runs down Paul Bearer by calling him a fat tub of lard whose only claim to fame is the urn. He could have destroyed Paul with Paul’s own urn but he decided to spare him because let's face it he isn’t in Edge’s league and never will be. Edge then runs down Eddie Guerrero by claiming how he could beat Eddie any night of the week, and that Eddie is nothing more than a fluke champion. Ever since Edge came back he’s been carrying this show. If he was to become champion he would bring in more ratings than Eddie could ever hope to accomplish. Edge goes even far to call Eddie a pathetic recovering drug addict. Finally Edge starts running down The Undertaker by saying how he isn't afraid of Taker at all. In fact The Undertaker is not the one who WWE superstars should be fearing, it should be him that they should all fear. Look at what he did to Kurt Angle, Rikishi and the carnage he caused last night.

Edge claims that he is the true Phenom of the WWE and that Taker is nothing more than a man. He isn't dead, and that his mind games would never work on him and they never could. He needs an urn to become powerful, well Edge says he proved he was more powerful without a stupid urn. The fans boo the hell out of Edge. Taker and Kane had their chance last night and failed and now it's his turn to get that opportunity for the WWE Title. He wasn’t included in the lethal lottery tournament but after last night the message he sent, it’s about time he gets what he wants and that’s a title shot. Booker T’s music hits and Edge gets interrupted by Booker. The first thing Booker says tell me you didn’t just say that. Booker says Edge just talked about if he was to become champion then he would bring in the highest ratings on Smackdown? Booker T starts laughing. Booker talks about his own accomplishments and said he is the most decorated WCW superstar of all time. Since coming to Smackdown, he’s already become the biggest superstar on this show. Booker says Edge complained about not receiving a title shot, Booker T claims that he didn’t get one either because his former partner betrayed him. Now that is a travesty. Edge fires back and makes fun of Booker. Edge talks about missing two WrestleManias due to injury. Edge talks about his last WrestleMania appearance which was two years ago and reminds Booker who he beat in his hometown. Yes it was Booker and if anyone deserves the shot then it’s him, not Booker. Booker responds back and says while Edge was talking about what he did last night, how about we talk about what Booker T did last night. Booker claims that after what he did to RVD, he should be next in line for a title shot, and not Edge. He states that Edge was doing nothing more than taking advantage of a situation to suit his needs, while Booker T says that unlike Edge he equals ratings and he will prove it when he goes on to KOTR to face Eddie for the title, now can you dig that. When Booker is about to say suckaaa, he gets interrupted by Kane’s music.

Kane comes down to the ring without Paul Bearer and without Mordecai. Kane is furious, he's steaming. The reason why Kane is angry because of what Edge did to him, his father, and his cousin. He blames Edge for costing him the title at Judgment Day. Kane looks like he is going to destroy Edge but he says that he could just destroy Edge and Booker T right now but he says he will save them for a later time. The reason why he's out here is because he wants another shot at the WWE Title and he isn't leaving here until he gets it. Eddie Guerrero comes down to interrupt this party and comes out on the stage. Eddie has a mic in his hand. Orrale Las Vegas. Eddie starts to mock Kane and Edge but ignores Booker as he has no grudge against him. He says he bled a lot at Judgment Day but proved he will overcome the obstacles and he did by beating The Undertaker and Kane to retain his title. He beat the hell out of Kane esse. He hasn’t forgotten what Edge did to him a few weeks ago. Then at Judgment Day, Edge came down and interfered in his match. He doesn’t give a damn if there’s three guys in the ring, his latino temper is boiling holmes and he’s coming in the ring right now. Eddie comes charging down to the ring and he beats the living hell out of Edge until Kane gets involved as Booker watches on. Eddie fights back until Booker T gets involved and we have a three on one beatdown. RVD comes in to make the save, but it is 3 on 2. Rey Mysterio comes into the ring and Edge hightails it out of the ring, leaving Kane and Booker in there by themselves to deal with Eddie, RVD, and Rey. RVD knocks Booker out the ring and Eddie and Rey dropkick Kane to the floor. The lights go out and the gong strikes. The lights are back on and The Undertaker is in the ring. Taker just stares down Eddie, RVD, and Rey. Kane and Booker retreat to the ramp. Paul Heyman comes out and tells them to stay right there. He’s going to settle this matter right now. He’s going to outdo Raw by having an even bigger match. He announces a 6 pack challenge tonight between The Undertaker, Kane, Booker T, RVD, Edge and Rey Mysterio. The winner gets a WWE Title shot against Eddie Guerrero at King of the Ring. He doesn’t care what condition these guys are in, this is your chance to take it or leave it. Wow what a blockbuster announcement from the Smackdown GM. What a huge match it is going to be tonight.

Backstage Val Venis and Dawn Marie are Heyman’s office. He’s upset because he lost against Cena and now he has to see Cena come out tonight and say the champ is here. He’s going to get him back for this by qualifying for the KOTR. Heyman told Val he’s adding something to the match. It's just not a qualifying match, it's also for the US Title. Val shakes Paul’s hand and leaves. As they are leaving, Dawn bumps into Stacey Keibler in Paul’s office. They start arguing and Paul tells them to calm down. He books a 6 person tag tonight between Stacey, The Hurricane and Shannon Moore vs Dawn Marie, Kidman and London. Torrie Wilson is banned from ringside. Dawn likes this and leaves with Val. Paul welcomes Stacey to Smackdown and apologises to Stacey and tells her he had to make the match fair. They get down to business as he thanks her for taking up his offer to join Smackdown. That really pissed Bischoff off last week, he apologises to her for what Bischoff did to her last week. He promises to make her an important part of the show. Stacey thanks Paul and Paul wishes her luck for her match tonight.

Cole and Tazz show some footage from the Judgment Day ppv.

Match 1
King of the Ring Qualifying Match
Matt Hardy Version 1.0 vs Tajiri

The Matt Facts are back as Hardy is mocking Tajiri here by claiming Tajiri weighs too much to be a cruiserweight. This match is not for the cruiserweight title. Both men were victorious at Judgment Day and now they are competing against each other in a KOTR Qualifying match. Who will become the 1st man from Smackdown to qualify? This was a fast paced match with lots of near falls. They lock up and trade holds at the start with Hardy coming out on top. Hardy does his v1 taunt and turns around and Tajiri nails Hardy with a spinning heel kick to knock Hardy outside the ring. Back in Hardy charges at Tajiri and misses a clothesline and Tajiri takes Hardy down with a dropkick. Tajiri starts delivering some lethal kicks to Hardy who goes to the ropes to get away from Tajiri. They lock up again as Hardy whips Tajiri to the ropes, leapfrog by Tajiri, into the ropes and Hardy gets a dropkick of his own. Hardy whips Tajiri to the corner and clotheslines him and delivers a bulldog and gets 2. Hardy backs Tajiri into a corner and starts punching and kicking away at Tajiri. He goes for a powerbomb, Tajiri slips out and takes Hardy down with a hurracanrana. Hardy and Tajiri counter holds with Tajiri coming out on top. Tajiri goes for a clothesline which Hardy counters into a side effect and Tajiri kicks out at 2. Hardy then takes control and delivers his moves such as the ricochet, spinning airplane neckbreaker and a legdrop from the top rope. Tajiri managed to kick out. Hardy runs into a boot by Tajiri and Tajiri applies the tarantula and has to break it up. Tajiri starts taking it to Hardy with some kick quicks. Tajiri is fired up. Tajiri nails his handspring elbow and Hardy kicks out at 2. Tajiri is measuring Hardy up for the buzzsaw kick, Hardy ducks and delivers the twist of fate. 1...2...3. He got him. Matt Hardy becomes the 1st man from Smackdown to qualify for the KOTR Tournament.
Winners: Matt Hardy

Josh Matthews is standing by with RVD. RVD said he was all over Booker at Judgment Day, he was kicking Booker T’s ass. Then suddenly he made one mistake and Booker capatalised on it. That was once but it’s not going to happen again. Tonight the stakes are even higher in a 6 pack challenge. This is now a big opportunity for him so that he can rub this in Booker’s face by receiving a title shot at King of the Ring. He can’t guarantee that it’s going to be Booker T that he’s going to pin tonight but at the end of the match the announcer will announce the winner and his name will be ...R....V......D!!!

Eddie Guerrero runs into Paul Heyman in the back. Paul Heyman told Eddie he knows that he’s mad over what happened at Judgment Day and also earlier on tonight. Under no circumstances will he allow Eddie to ruin his main event tonight so he tells Eddie, he’s not going to eject him from the arena, but he’s barred from interfering in the main event. However he’s not going to stop Eddie from what he wants to do after the main event. Eddie was fine with that and told Paul he's going to beat the hell out of Edge and Kane esse. Eddie leaves and he's not in a good mood tonight.

Match 2
US Title King of the Ring Qualifying Match
John Cena (c) vs Val Venis

At the start of the match, Cena cut a promo and says THE CHAMP IS HERE!!! Cena told Val if he's man enough, he would do this by himself and not without Dawn. So Val agrees and Dawn leaves. Cena and Val continue to work well against each other as this was a good follow up match from Judgment Day. Val takes his aggression out on Cena in the early going but Cena fights back. Cena runs into a knee lift. Val takes over and starts to assault Cena in the corner. Cena takes quite a beating here from Val. Val starts delivering mounted punches to Cena in the corner. He whips Cena into the other corner and runs into a boot. Cena hits a bulldog and Val kicked out at 2. Cena runs into an elbow, suplex from Val. Val starts dropping some elbow drops on Cena’s knee. Val goes for a figure four but Cena rolls him up and gets a 2 count only. Backslide from Cena and Val kicks out again at 2. Val catches Cena with a knee lift and then delivers a pump handle slam. Val goes to the top, Cena shakes the ropes and Val gets crotched on the ropes. Cena delivers a suplex from the top and gets 2 Ĺ. They continue to go back and forth exchanging holds. Val goes for an abdominal stretch and applies more pressure to make Cena submit here. Cena counters into a hip toss. Cena is now back in this. Not only is this a qualifying match, Cena’s belt is also on the line here. Cena wigth a shoulder block, follows up with a clothesline. Side suplex from Cena. Cena hits the five knuckle shuffle and Val kicks out at 2. Throwback from Cena and gets 2. Guillotine legdrop and gets 2 Ĺ. Cena runs into a boot, full nelson slam from Val and gets 2 1/2.

Val is really getting frustrated now and wants to put Cena away. Russian leg sweep from Val. Val locks in the Venis flytrap and holds on to the ropes to apply more pressure. The ref sees this and Val has to break it up. Val is showing some ruthless aggression here. Val scores with a fisherman suplex and Cena just kicks out at 2 Ĺ. Val and Cena end up knocking each other out with a double clothesline. Val is first to get up, Cena blocks a punch and sends Val to the ropes and nails him with a flying forearm. Throwback from Cena. Cena runs into an elbow, spinebuster from Val. Val goes up to the top rope and he’s not gonna waste any time here and delivers the moneyshot. He got him. He covers Cena 1....2... 2 Ĺ Cena kicked out. Val can’t believe it. Val goes for a powerbomb, Cena slips out and gets a backslide on Val and gets 2 Ĺ. What a match up. They exchange lefts and rights and Val knees Cena to the gut. He bounces off the ropes and charges into Cena who picks Val up and plants him with the F-U. He goes for a cover 1...2...3. Cena retains the title and qualifies for the King of the Ring to face Matt Hardy. What a hard fought victory for Cena. He took a beating and managed to come back and retain his title. You got to give credit also to Val Venis who again came close to capturing the US Title. Cena celebrates and moves on to King of the Ring.
Winner: John Cena

Matt Hardy and Johnny Nitro are in the back with Paul Heyman. Heyman and Nitro congratulate Hardy on his win. Nitro is glad that Hardy beat Tajiri. Nitro vows to make up for his loss at Judgment Day by qualifying for the King of the Ring next week. He asks Paul Heyman who his opponent is next week in the final qualifying match for the KOTR tournament. Heyman had an idea and announced that whoever gets pinned tonight in the 6 pack challenge will meet Johnny Nitro next week in the final qualifying match for KOTR. Nitro was hoping that it was Rey Mysterio and not someone like The Undertaker or Kane who end up as his opponent. Nitro claimed that Rey would be an easier target for him as he's hurt but no matter who he faces he will qualify. Matt wishes him luck and Hardy talks about his match at KOTR. Hardy will be facing the US Champion John Cena. Matt says he’s never faced Cena before but Cena’s not the only star on the rise. Since coming back to Smackdown, V1 is on a roll. He showed that to Rhyno at Judgment Day, he beat Tajiri tonight and then he’s going to beat Cena at King of the Ring. Paul was disappointed that Val lost tonight to Cena but hoped that Matt defeats Cena at KOTR.

Josh Matthews is standing by with Kane. Kane thinks he was robbed last night and he should be the WWE Champion right now. Tonight he will destroy 5 men and then he will.... Kane shouts he will go on to KOTR and get his rematch. John Cena appears and says told ya so.... Cena mocks Kane again and tells him that he made a prediction that Val Venis and Kane were the past. While Val failed to win at Judgment Day, so did Kane. Cena says Kane won't win the big one again. Kane responds back and says at least he has won the big one. He looks at Cena and tells him that he's nothing more than a thug while Kane is a monster. After tonight he will become the # 1 contender now if Cena isn't careful he may not make it to KOTR. Cena gets in Kane's face and says you want some come get some. Both men start brawling and officials come down and seperate both men. Kane shouts once he becomes the WWE Champion, he's also going to take Cena's United States title.

Match 3
King of the Ring Qualifying Match
JBL vs Rhyno

JBL comes down to the ring for his qualifying match. Before his opponent comes out, JBL wants to say something to the fans. JBL brags about his win in the international gauntlet match at Judgment Day. He thinks it's pathetic that a guy like Rey Mysterio who JBL believes is a cruiserweight is in the # 1 contenders match tonight for the WWE Title. JBL says Rey Mysterio shouldn't even be considered for a title shot. JBL says he's glad that Rey Mysterio is not in the KOTR because he would damage the credibility of this prestigious tournament. JBL states that if Rey Mysterio became #1 contender tonight then he would protest. People like that are the things that he hates about America. He wanted to prove a point at Judgment Day and he did and he is leagues ahead of the international cruiserweights he beat. JBL claims that he's trying to fix the right things in the WWE and the first thing is to put all these foreigners in their place. What's bad enough is that we have a Mexican representing Smackdown as the WWE Champion. JBL believes that it's now time to move on to bigger things and that’s the King of the Ring. JBL thinks it’s pathetic that he has to even qualify for the tournament when he should just be an automatic entry in the tournament. The fans start booing JBL heavily. He starts running down the fans and tells them that they are jealous of him. There is no bigger success story than JBL. He is a radio talk show host, he works on network tv as a financial political analyst. If you want to succeed then they should see JBL as their role model. They can learn a lot from him. He wants to show the fans a clip. In the clip is a commercial of JBL giving financial advice where he is sitting at a desk in a tower reading a report. JBL gives tips on how to get rich, how they can live the high life. JBL is then in a limo with a mobile phone and laptop. It ends with JBL saying if you want to be successful in life, then watch JBL every week on Smackdown. Ad paid courtesy of Smackdown. The fans boo him as JBL has a big smile on his face.

JBL goes on and on. If he was running America, it would be in a far better state than it currently is. The boos are getting louder. He goes outside the ring and doesn’t understand why the fans are booing him. He says it’s people like you that are the reason why he moved from Texas to New York City. He makes more in a week than most people make in a year. He is a self made man, he has earned it all. This is why every guy in the locker room is jealous of him. He has inherited nothing and he has not been given anything, he did it all by himself. There is no one richer than JBL. He vows to bring prestige back to this tournament by guaranteeing victory. Guys like John Cena, Batista, Randy Orton and many more are not even in his league. He doesn't care which superstars he has to go through to get to his throne. From now on after the tournament is over, you people will have no choice but to call me King JBL. He wants the fans to start a King JBL chant but it isn’t catching on. He goes back in the ring and he’s furious at the response from the fans. He says King JBL over and over again until Rhyno’s music hits as he interrupts JBL. Rhyno’s had enough and this is a great opportunity for the man beast Rhyno. JBL tells Rhyno he isn’t done yet. As he was saying all these people will call him King JBL, King JBL, King JB...

Rhyno gets a right hand on JBL as the bell rings as we are underway with this match. Rhyno starts delivering some right hands to JBL, JBL gets a knee to the gut. JBL sends Rhyno to the ropes who comes back with a flying shoulder tackle. JBL reverses a whip and boots Rhyno in the face and Rhyno kicks out at 2. They take the fight outside the ring and JBL sends Rhyno into the steps. He rolls Rhyno back in and gets a sleeper hold on Rhyno. Rhyno powers out and elbows JBL in the face. Rhyno goes to the ropes and clotheslines JBL. Rhyno scores with a powerslam and JBL kicks out at 2. Rhyno runs into an elbow and JBL then takes control by hammering away at Rhyno. Swinging neckbreaker by JBL and Rhyno kicks out. Suplex by JBL and again Rhyno kicks out. Last call by JBL and Rhyno just kicks out at 2. JBL starts taunting Rhyno. Rhyno reverses a whip and sends JBL into the corner. Rhyno starts stomping away at JBL into the corner. Belly to Belly suplex by Rhyno and JBL kicks out at 2. Rhyno goes for a piledriver but JBL counters into a backdrop. JBL starts dropping a few elbow drops. JBL gets Rhyno in a bearhug. Rhyno fights out of it and goes to the ropes and clotheslines JBL. Neckbreaker by Rhyno and JBL kicks out at 2. Rhyno goes for another clothesline but JBL counters into an abdominal stretch. He holds on to the ropes but the ref sees it and JBL has to break it up. JBL argues with the referee. Rhyno gores JBL but JBL ends up going through the middle rope to the floor. Rhyno suplexes JBL back in. JBL is almost a 300 pounder and Rhyno is also a strong guy. Rhyno sets up for the gore but walks into a spinebuster by JBL. JBL waits for Rhyno to get up and nails him with the clothesline from hell. 1...2...3. JBL has qualified for the KOTR. JBL celebrates his win and goes outside the ring and grabs a mic. JBL says this is just the start, soon all of you people will be calling him KING JBL. JBL gets booed heavily as he celebrates on the ramp.
Winner: JBL

Backstage we get an update on Rey Mysterio’s condition as he’s with the medical team. He informs us that he shouldn’t be competing tonight but he’s not going to let this opportunity go. He’s going to compete tonight, he may not be in great condition but he can still go. He would hate to see someone like Edge getting that opportunity and he’s going to stop Edge from getting that title shot. Rey also heard what JBL had to say about him and Rey thinks JBL's ego is getting even bigger. All he can do is run his mouth but doesn't back it up. Rey believes he is worthy of a title opportunity tonight because he believes he has what it takes to become the #1 contender. Rey says once he becomes the #1 contender tonight then we will see two Mexicans competing in the main event at KOTR. Now that's something JBL would never like to see.

Match 4
The Hurricane, Shannon Moore and Stacey Keibler vs Paul London, Billy Kidman and Dawn Marie

Both teams are still selling their injuries from the ladder match at Judgment Day. Paul Heyman decided to include almost everyone who competed at Judgment Day on Smackdown in action. London gets a dropsault on Hurricane and gets 2 only. Hurricane sends London to the ropes and London gets backdropped. Hurricane goes to the top for a legdrop and misses. Kidman comes back and hits a facebuster and tags in London. London starts delivering some kicks to Moore. Moore comes back with a clothesline. Hurricane and Moore are in control until the heels take over. Stacey and Dawn start fighting it out for a while until Moore and Kidman go at it again. London takes Moore down with a spinning heel kick. Springboard moonsault from London and Moore kicks out at 2. London whips Moore to the corner and charges at him and runs into a boot. Moore nails the Moore-Gasm. He goes for a cover and Dawn Marie gets in to break it up. Stacey gets in and we have a cat fight. Dawn rolls out the ring. Hurricane is now in the ring with Kidman, Kidman hits the BK Bomb. He goes to the top for the shooting star press but Huricane is back up on his feet. He goes to the top but Hurricane gets knocked down with a punch. Kidman misses the Shooting Star Press as Helms moved out the way. Stacey wants in against Dawn so Helms tags Stacey. So now Dawn has to come in anyway. Stacey Keibler lands some kicks to the chest of Dawn, Dawn gets a thumb to the eye. Suplex by Dawn and Stacey kicks out at 2. Dawn taunts Stacey, she whips Stacey to the ropes. Stacey gets a backslide on Dawn and pins her for the 3 count to win the match.
Winners: The Hurricane, Shannon Moore and Stacey Keibler

Josh Matthews is standing by Chavo. He’s not ashamed that he lost at Judgment Day but suddenly blames the other cruiserweights in the match for it. He was the one who took JBL to the limit but the others were hopeless against JBL. Chavo was mad that his father was fired but now he has to move on to make his dad proud. He’s the best Guerrero on Smackdown and he wants to be a winner and not a loser. He sets his sights on becoming the cruiserweight champion again.

Mordecai comes down to the ring with Paul Bearer. Paul Bearer talks trash about The Undertaker, Eddie Guerrero, John Cena and Edge. Paul thinks John Cena is messing with the wrong person and shouldn't be getting involved in Kane's business. Now that he's crossed the line, once Kane becomes the #1 contender tonight then he will deal with John Cena. Mordecai says they have all committed a sin and they will pay for their sins. Paul Bearer states that Kane was robbed at Judgment Day but he will get his opportunity again next when he goes through five men. Mordecai claimed it was going to be Kane’s night, when Edge went away he began to deal with The Undertaker. However The Undertaker put his hands on Uncle Paul. Mordecai holds Undertaker the most responsible for costing Kane that title victory. From now on he’s going to make Undertaker’s life a living hell. He is going to punish The Undertaker for his sins, for all his crimes that he is commited. For what he put his uncle Paul Bearer through, for what he put his cousin Kane through and for what he did to him in the past, he will get his revenge on The Undertaker. For years The Undertaker has had his way with all the stars in the WWE. Now things are about to change, now The Undertaker will realise who he’s messing with. Mordecai vows to send The Undertaker into permanent darkness. It will be a cold day in hell before The Undertaker ever wears the WWE Title again. Mordecai and Paul Bearer laugh and the Mordecai and Paul Bearer leave.

Paul Heyman backstage is on the phone with Bischoff, they trade insults. Paul told Eric this is what you call a great show and this is how King of the Ring matches and #1 contender matches are done. He told Eric that Matt Hardy wasn’t treated right on Raw, but here on Smackdown he’s qualified for the KOTR Tournament. If he was still on Raw, Bischoff would have never given him a chance. Over here on Smackdown is the land of opportunity. This is the show where stars come to shine and make a name for themselves. Heyman talks about the Smackdown guys that have qualified so far for the tournament. He doesn't think Cena standa a chance against Hardy. He puts over Matt Hardy and JBL as the stars to watch out for in KOTR. Bischoff ignores Shelton and puts over Orton and Batista. Paul Heyman said once the elite 8 are set, maybe all the 8 stars in the tournament should have a confrontation on Smackdown and give their views on why they deserve to be King. Eric said that’s not a bad idea, sometimes they can agree to things but they can do this on Raw, the A-Show. They start arguing over what show they should do this on and Paul hangs up on Eric.

Midway into the match Kane and RVD fight outside the ring. Kane sends RVD into the post. He places RVD on the announce table. Kane lifts him up and chokeslams RVD through a table. Kane and Booker T then start double teaming on The Undertaker Taker in the corner, while Edge and Rey go at it back and forth and trade holds. Wheel barrow bulldog from Rey and Edge kicks out at 2. Edge reverses a whip and sends Rey rib first into the turnbuckle and then gets a shot to the kidney. Edge o matic. He goes for a cover and gets 2. Suplex by Edge. He goes up to the top rope and gets a missile dropkick on Rey and Rey kicks out at 2. The heels all gang up on The Undertaker until Taker fights back and chokeslams all of them. Rey’s up on the apron, springboard, wait Taker catches him in mid-air chokeslam. 1...2... No Edge breaks it up. Taker and Edge go at it again, Taker hammers away at Edge in the corner. He whips him to the corner and clotheslines him. Taker hits the snake eyes followed by a legdrop. Edge kicked out at 2. Taker rams Edge’s head into the corner, Edge is staggering. DDT by The Undertaker. Booker T breaks up the count. Booker clotheslines Taker to the floor and rams Taker’s head into the steel post. While Taker was down on the floor, RVD is back in and hits the frogsplash on Kane. Edge breaks it up. Edgecution...1...2.. Booker T breaks it up. Mysterio goes to the top rope and takes them both down with a crossbody. Mysterio goes for a cover on Edge and gets 2. Mysterio gets a hurracanrana on Booker. Kane knocks Rey down with a boot. Chokeslam by Kane. Edge breaks it up. Undertaker is back in again and he starts beating everyone up in the ring. He signals that the end is near and does his cut throat signal and Mordecai comes down to the ring. Taker picks Booker up for the tombstone, Booker slips out and knocks Taker outside the ring. The Undertaker sees Mordecai and starts brawling with Mordecai. Kane decides to help his cousin out and they start attacking The Undertaker. They fight near the stage. Taker starts delivering some right hands on Kane but Mordecai knees Taker in the mid section. Mordecai and Kane double chokeslam Taker off the stage. This is now the third time where Mordecai has cost The Undertaker a match. Mordecai starts laughing and Kane does his signature taunt. Mordecai leaves and it looks like they’ve got the job done because The Undertaker is out of this match.

Kane goes back to the ring. Kane starts hammering away at everyone in the ring. Chokeslam on RVD and Mysterio breaks it up. Mysterio goes to the rope and Kane gets a sidewalk slam on Rey. RVD breaks up the count at 2. RVD goes to the top rope and gets a sidekick on Kane. Edge is on the apron and Mysterio hits the 619 to knock Edge out the ring. RVD and Mysterio team up on Kane. Mysterio goes for a springboard moonsault and takes out Kane and Booker T. Edge elbows RVD in the face. He looks for a spear on RVD but RVD turns around and drop toe holds Edge. He goes up for the five star frog splash. He goes for it but misses as Edge moves out of the way. Edge sets up for the spear as RVD is staggering back to his feet. Rey, Kane and Booker trying to get back to their feet. Edge charges at RVD and nails him with the spear. Kane’s trying to make it back in 1...2...3. No Kane couldn’t make it in time. RVD didn't get his title shot opportunity but as he got pinned he will now have an opportunity to qualify for the KOTR next week. Is that unfair on the other stars involved in this match, well Paul Heyman has to explain this next week. Edge continues to celebrate but gets cut off by Eddie Guerrero’s music. Eddie comes running down to the ring and Edge goes for a right hand. Eddie blocks and starts delivering some right hands on Edge. He backs Edge into a corner and starts unloading with some right hands. Edge is staggering and Eddie clotheslines Edge over the top rope to the floor. Kane is in and Eddie nails Kane with the WWE title belt. Edge retreats back to the ramp. Eddie taunts Edge to get back in. Edge is furious and points at Eddie and motions for the belt. Smackdown Review

Great Smackdown episode by the way, Kintaro and after reading it I must say you keep outdoing yourself week in, and week out and that is what I love about you, you go above and beyond and you deliver and then some, each and every time. This week is no different, just awesome!!!!!!!!!!

Edge starting it off talking about the impact he made at Judgment Day interfering in the main event and just causing so much destruction taking out Kane, Mordecai, Taker, Eddie Guerrero, and last but not least Rey Mysterio and after beating Rey earlier on in the night before the main event in a Falls Count Anywhere Match and then after in the main event giving Rey a Con-chair-to for getting in his business again, maybe that will teach Rey to stay away from Edge. Edge starts to run down the fans and also some stars on Smackdown, I loved it, I am loving heel Edge right now. Then Booker T interrupting him, and then Kane interrupting, and then Eddie coming during this segment and the way the segment ends with the 3 on 1 assault on Eddie, and then Rey coming down for the save to make it 3 on 2, and then RVD coming in to even it at 3 on 3, and then Edge bailing, typical cowardly move but it was pretty awesome, and then Taker coming in, the lights going out and the gong being heard and Taker being in the ring, awesome way to end the segment. And then Paul Heyman making a 6-Pack Challenge for later on tonight with the winner facing Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Championship at the King of the Ring pay per view, awesome match booking here

Val Venis Dawn Marie Stacy Keibler Heyman segment backstage loved it

Matt Hardy Version 1.0 beating Tajiri to qualify for KOTR, awesome match even though it was short, I thought it was pretty good, and now Hardy goes on to KOTR, he could be a favorite to win it

RVD backstage segment pretty cool as well

Eddie Guerrero-Heyman backstage segment awesome as well

John Cena defeating Val Venis to retain his WWE United States Championship and also in the process qualifying for the King of the Ring tournament, I loved it, and their match at Judgment Day and their match on this episode just proves that whenever these 2 get together, it is always a good match

JBL beating Rhyno to qualify for King of the Ring, and then the promo JBL cuts before and after the match makes me believe that JBL could be a favorite to win the tournament as well

Rey backstage with the medical team, great segment, but I can't help but to wonder if Rey is just being plain stupid to go out there tonight and compete considering how he got his ass handed to him by Edge at KOTR and also the Con-chair-to he got as a result of trying to interfere in Edge's business once again, more guts than brains

Hurricane, Moore, and Keibler being London, Kidman, and Dawn Marie, great match for an intergender 6-person tag team match, loved it

Chavo backstage segment interview, I loved it, typical move trying to blame others for your shortcomings but Chavo lost the match too, but he says he has his eyes set on being Cruiserweight Champion once again, Chavo to me he doesn't even need the Cruiserweight Title, he could go after the US Title, if anything that's a title he needs to go after, if you ask me

Mordecai and Paul Bearer segment I loved that as well, as it really makes Mordecai look good and not only that but it makes him strong too as a future star for Smackdown

Typical, Heyman and Bischoff can't get along, and it showed yet again with their backstage phone segment again, but I love it because it brings good comic relief to the show

Edge wins the 6-Pack Challenge and now he is on his way to the King of the Ring pay per view to face Eddie for the WWE Championship, and Edge winning in typical Rated-R style by being an opportunist and capitalizing off of a situation and taking full advantage

And Eddie attacking Edge after the match, awesome, and then Edge bailing, and then the 2 of them staring each other down with Edge motioning for the WWE Championship makes me a believer that their match at KOTR will be nothing short of spectacular

Great Smackdown episode and I cannot wait until RAW!!!!!!!!!!!

WWE News and Notes

Eric Bischoff seems to be very high on his nephew Eugene and tips him to become a big star on Raw. Eugene has already made good progress on Raw and Bischoff made a good decision to pair Eugene up with William Regal. William Regal is not pleased to supervise Eugene but if he wants to remain on the Raw roster he has to put up with Eugene.

Quote:
The Raw stars were in action this past weekend at a live event. This event took place in Philadelphia. Rene Dupree who was not scheduled to compete for a match came down to the ring in wrestling gear and announced that Eric Bischoff has granted him any match of his choice tonight. He was upset to be left off the card on this event. Rene went to Eric Bischoff and requested for his KOTR match which was scheduled to take place on Raw to take place tonight. Rene decided that he’s not going to wait till Monday, Kings don’t wait. We will finally have a French King at King of the Ring. He told the fans to start a King Rene chant which doesn’t catch on. Rene calls out Chris Jericho to come down for the match right now. If Jericho does not come down then the referee should declare this match a forfeit and Rene should be announced as the winner. The fans were booing the hell out of Rene and Jericho’s music hit as he came down to accept Rene’s challenge. Jericho gets inside the ring and he told Rene to shut the hell up. Jericho told Rene he had no problem in doing the match tonight because he’s going to beat this French ass clown. Rene wasn’t too pleased with Jericho’s comments. Rene felt that he was being disrespected by Jericho and promised to humiliate him infront of these fans tonight by qualifying for the King of the Ring tournament. Jericho claims after tonight Rene will never everrrrrrrrrrr be the same again. Jericho ended up winning the match by making Dupree submit to the walls of Jericho. Jericho now moves on to the King of the Ring Tournament Quarter Finals to take on Evolution’s Batista.

Footage from this match at this event will be shown to you this week on Raw. We have been informed that Jericho will present the Highlight Reel on Raw. His guests are the stars who are also representing the Raw brand in the King of the Ring and they are Batista, Randy Orton and Shelton Benjamin.
The next Raw show will be a lot promo heavy to build up King of the Ring. A Contract signing between world heavyweight champion Chris Benoit and HHH will take place on Raw. Also Vince McMahon will be making an appearance on Raw to make an announcement on the King of the Ring ppv.

Only one spot now remains in the KOTR tournament as Johnny Nitro will take on RVD this week on Smackdown. The winner of the match will face John Bradshaw Layfield at King of the Ring.

Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel: Special Guests Randy Orton, Batista and Shelton Benjamin

Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler welcome us to the show and Chris Jericho’s music hits as he’s already in the ring. Jericho welcomes everyone to the highlight reel. Jericho talks about last week how Trish Stratus stuck her nose in his business again and cost him the chance of becoming the # 1 contender. He was proud of putting Christian on the shelf but Trish wanted payback and now he’s not going to be facing Chris Benoit for the world title at KOTR. Does that make him mad, yes it did make him mad. He was thinking about getting his hands on that slut but he will deal with her later. Now his mood has changed. He’s in a great mood tonight and the reason for that is that he has some news for all his Jerichoholics. Y2J has qualified for the King of the Ring. He rolls footage of the live event that took place this weekend as Jericho defeated Rene Dupree by making him tap to the walls of Jericho. Jericho will now go on to face Batista at King of the Ring. Jericho states that in this business he has almost done it all but he has never won the King of the Ring. So now this is a great chance for Y2J to become King. Jericho introduces his guest on the Highlight Reel, first representing Evolution in the tournament are his opponent and the man who he’s going to beat, the animal Batista and the Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton. Orton and Batista come down to the ring. Jericho tells Batista he will talk to him after he’s done talking to Orton. Jericho first starts saying some nice things about Orton. Jericho has been impressed with Orton, in 2 years he has achieved so much. He’s the longest reigning Intercontinental champion in the last 7 years. He retired Mick Foley. He reminds Orton that they even were on the same team last year at Survivor Series. After achieving all this now Orton wants to become the KOTR. Well Jericho thinks Orton’s the only guy in the tournament that doesn’t deserve to be in it. Orton didn’t like this. He reminds Orton that he almost got beat by Maven who returned to action last week, Orton had to cheat to win. What kind of champion is that? Jericho thinks Maven should have been in the tournament instead.

For the first time in a long time, Orton never used the RKO in his match and it took a cheap win for Orton to qualify. Well Orton got lucky last week but he won’t be so lucky when he meets Shelton Benjamin, the man who beat the legendary Nature Boy Ric Flair to qualify. Orton gets angry and asks Jericho who the hell does he think he is. Orton claims he can beat guys like Maven and Shelton Benjamin any day of the week, they are not even in his league. Orton thinks Chris Jericho isn’t in his league. After Batista is done with Jericho at KOTR, Jericho won’t be running his mouth any longer. Batista then gets on the mic and vows to beat the hell out of Jericho at KOTR and he will go on to win the tournament. Jericho cuts Batista off and tells him to shut the hell up. Jericho starts to stir things up between Orton and Batista and says things like isn’t Orton the only member of Evolution to hold gold? What if Batista somehow beats Y2J and Orton somehow gets past Shelton, we will get to see an Evolution semi final. What will you do then Batista? Will you lay down for Orton? Or will Orton lay down for Batista? Orton cuts in and he knows what games Jericho’s trying to play. He’s trying to cause problems between Evolution but that’s not going to happen. Orton thinks Jericho is jealous of him. Orton calls himself the greatest Intercontinental Champion ever and he was even a better champion than Jericho. Since Jericho was supposed to have a match tonight but now that he doesn’t have one now, how about we see how good Jericho is by taking on both Evolution members. Jericho says oh you two assclowns are real tough now, taking advantage of a two on one situation. Let me remind you that i have another guest tonight and his name is Shelton Benjamin.

Shelton comes down and mentions that last week was one of his greatest moments ever when he beat Evolution’s Ric Flair to qualify. He may not have much experience in singles competition but to beat one of the greatest wrestlers ever to qualify shows how much of a threat he can be. He’s been hearing Orton call himself the best but Shelton believes that he can beat Orton. Jericho believes that Shelton can do it, if he can beat the Nature Boy then he certainly believes that Shelton can defeat Orton. If Shelton were to do that, it would be a huge coup. Jericho thinks Shelton is a great athlete, infact we could be seeing Y2J vs Shelton Benjamin in the KOTR Semi Finals. Batista cuts him off and says that is not going to happen because there is no chance Jericho and Shelton will get past the Quarter Finals in the KOTR. Batista tells Shelton, he made an example out of Shelton’s partner Haas last week and at KOTR, Orton will defeat Shelton. He asks Shelton what has he done to warrant a match against Orton at KOTR? A fluke win that’s all? What are his achievements because whatever Shelton has done is nothing compared to what Randy Orton has done. Shelton fires back and mocks Orton for being lucky to get past Maven when Maven had him beat last week. Orton vows to make it up to Flair by teaching Shelton a lesson at KOTR. Not only will he beat him, he will humiliate him. Shelton nails Orton with a right hand and Jericho and Batista also go at it. Eric Bischoff comes down and tells them to stop right now. Bischoff announces Orton vs Jericho for next week. He tells Jericho that he’s not going to let Jericho get away with it. He may have qualified for the KOTR but he was advertised to compete tonight. So he wants him to clear the ring of the highlight reel and we are going to have a tag match right now.

Orton whips Shelton hard to the corner and Batista drops Shelton with a Batista Bomb. 1..2...3. Batista and Orton win and celebrate in the ring. The announcers believe that Batista will win the KOTR, they think no one can stop him.
Winners: Randy Orton and Batista

HHH and Flair are in Bischoff’s office. Flair tells Eric now what you just saw from Orton and Batista was just greatness, that’s how Evolution rolls. Flair reminds Eric how important HHH is to the Raw roster, he’s going to win back his world heavyweight title at KOTR. HHH thanks Eric for putting Benoit in a match next against the 350 pounder A-Train, it’s just to soften him up for the contract signing later on tonight. He knows Vince McMahon is here tonight and wonders why he’s here. Eric tells them that he’s concerned because anytime Vince shows up, he always makes some blockbuster announcement or something big goes down. HHH asks Eric tonight will he add that stipulation they talked about over the phone earlier on this week? Eric shakes HHH hand and says damn right he will. HHH and Flair leave and HHH seems like he’s in a great mood tonight. It seems like he’s up to something.

A-Train gets a bear hug and Benoit is able to fight out of it and takes A-Train down with a DDT. Benoit gets a snap suplex on the big A-Train and gets 2. Benoit takes A-Train down with a german suplex and follows up with a series of german suplexes. He goes to the top and hits the diving headbutt and gets two. He goes for the crossface but A-Train elbows Benoit in the face. Clothesline by A-Train. He goes for the trainwreck but Benoit slips out and takes A-Train down with the crossface. A-Train taps and Benoit wins the match.

Teddy Long approaches Maven backstage. He sees a lot of potential in Maven and wants to manage Maven, he wants to guide him to the top. He asks Maven if he wants to take up his offer? Maven thanks Teddy and told him he’s going to have to think about it. Teddy says anytime playa, holla.

Vince McMahon makes a big announcement for King of the Ring

Vince McMahon’s music hits as he makes another appearance on Raw. Vince McMahon states that he didn’t want to miss the contract signing tonight. He’s going to add a stipulation of his own for the “I Quit Match” later on. He calls out Eric Bischoff to the ring who comes down with Coach and they look concerned. Vince shakes Eric’s hand and asks Eric how is neck is? Eric says he is doing a lot better now but wouldn’t be in this mess if Mr McMahon didn’t put him in charge of Smackdown. He did enjoy taking charge because he made Smackdown’s rating go up, it was the best Smackdown show of the year. Eric complained about Paul Heyman and his actions on Raw and wanted Mr McMahon to take action on Paul Heyman. Coach agreed with Eric and told Vince that Heyman gave him the night off when Coach’s services were needed on Raw. Coach smiles and says he knows why Mr McMahon is out here, he’s going to take action on Paul Heyman. Vince shouts at Coach and tells him to SHUT UP!!! Coach just stands there in silence. Vince says he is taking no action on the GMS. He believes that they did a fine job and quite enjoyed to see a change of direction for one week only. It shows that he made a great decision. He is out here to make an announcement which relates to both rosters at the King of the Ring. Recently we’ve seen Bischoff and Heyman interacting on the phone, arguing to see which brand is better. Will we have a Raw star winning the tournament or a Smackdown star? Well it’s not just the KOTR tournament which will have bragging rights, he’s come up with another idea, a match he’s decided to make at KOTR. Just when Vince is about to announce the match he gets interrupted by Eugene’s music. Eugene comes down to the ring and waves at the fans. Eric is not too pleased to see Eugene at this moment because Eugene just interrupted Mr McMahon. Regal’s running behind Eugene trying to stop him and decides to take him back. Vince tells Regal to bring Eugene back in, he wants to meet him. Eric goes to the corner and puts his head down, he just doesn’t know what will happen.

Eugene is really excited to see Vince and imitates his powerwalk. Vince was shocked, Coach starts laughing and Eric covers his face. Vince looks at Coach and berates him and says you think that’s funny Coach. You know what was funny when Eugene beat you in his training exhibition match. Eugene was excited and marks out huge for Vince. Eugene asks Vince isn’t he the guy who got his butt kicked by Eric Bischoff a few years ago. He refers back to the Monday Night Wars. Coach bursts out laughing and Bischoff tried to contain his laughter. You can tell Vince was hot but he controls himself and says yes that was me Eugene. Eugene then asks Vince so howcome Uncle Eric isn’t the owner of this company then? Vince tells Eugene, you may as well find out that answer from your uncle Eric. Come on Eric, why don’t you tell Eugene why you’re not the owner of this company. Eric tries to change the subject and told Regal to take Eugene away but Vince tells Regal to stop right there. Vince heard Eugene’s a big WWE fan and how he wants to become a huge star here. Now that Regal is supervising Eugene, he would like to see Eugene become civilised, he asks Regal could he be able to do that? Regal says he can try but it will take a miracle to civilise this buffoon. Regal pleads with Vince to set him free from Eugene. He doesn’t need this, it’s too much stress. He looks like an idiot running after this miserable specimen. He asks Vince he can serve him and Bischoff in much better ways. Vince makes fun of Regal and reminds him that Regal was the first member to join his special club. Regal says oh no he doesn’t want to go through that again.

Bischoff gets angry with Regal and tells him to apologise to Eugene and Regal apologises to Eugene. Vince McMahon thinks what Regal is doing at the moment is fine because Eugene will become a star because of Regal. Regal may not think like that now but very soon it will be one of the best decisions he’s ever made to take Eugene under his wing. This is why Vince is pleased with Eric Bischoff for coming up with that idea to have Regal supervise Eugene. Vince moves on to his announcement. He is all about giving opportunities and announced that at King of the Ring a 30 man battle royal will take place featuring both brands. The winner will receive a title shot at their brand’s next ppv. He makes himself clear by stating that if a Raw star wins he would receive an automatic world title shot at the next Raw brand ppv Vengeance. If a Smackdown star wins he would receive an automatic WWE Title shot at next Smackdown brand ppv The Great American Bash. He names Eugene as the first participant in the 30 man battle royal. Eugene gets excited and starts licking Vince bushwhacker style. Vince shouts get him off me and Eric gets Eugene off Vince. Regal explains to Eugene not to do that again. Vince tells Eric he will see him out there later on in the contract signing. Eugene is celebrating in the ring.

Trish meets Lita in the back and tells Lita not to get excited about last week because she got lucky. She’s way better than Lita and Lita is not in her league. Trish makes fun of Lita and tells her that she has poor taste because she now has a new boyfriend and it’s that dork Eugene. Lita says Eugene is not her boyfriend, she made him feel welcome last week when the other divas turned him down. Eugene didn’t have any diva friends but he does now. She didn’t want to break his heart so she teamed with him and embarrassed Trish last week. She mocks Trish and asks how Christian is, oh she forgot that Jericho beat that CLB to put him out of action. Is Trish not the same anymore without Christian? Trish says Jericho may have qualified for the KOTR but she’s not through with him yet. She’s going to do whatever it takes to make sure Jericho doesn’t become the King of the Ring. Trish vows to make a statement tonight and it will first start with Lita. Trish throws water in Lita’s face and delivers a Trish Kick right in Lita’s face. She yells at Lita and says nobody laughs at me.

She’s a 4 times women champion, 3 time babe of the year, raw diva of the decade. She challenges Victoria to a match next week for the womens title in Montreal.

La Resistance are in the back with Rene Dupree. Rene is upset that he didn’t qualify for the KOTR tournament but declares himself as a participant in the battle royal at the KOTR. Sylvan and Conway vow to win the tag team titles in their hometown next week. It will be a big night for them. After next week Haas and Benjamin will not be the self proclaimed WGTT anymore.

Winner: Rob Conway

Todd Grisham interviews HBK backstage. Michaels states that since Backlash he’s been banged up but he won’t stop till he gets another opportunity at the title. Michaels has had a grudge with Evolution for quite some time now. A couple of weeks ago he was powerbombed to the floor by Batista. Last week he came so close to getting that rematch against Benoit but HHH used his sledgehammer on him. HHH knew he couldn’t beat HBK so he became desperate for his rematch and that’s why he used the sledgehammer on HBK to win. HBK was pulling for Benoit to embarrass HHH at KOTR. Now HBK has another opportunity and he’s going to superkick 29 guys out the battle royal at KOTR and then he will go on to Vengeance to receive another opportunity at the world heavyweight title. Michaels hoped that he would meet Benoit again to prove that HBK is still the man. Up next he’s going to show Evolution why he’s the showstopper and he’s going to kick Ric Flair’s teeth down his throat.

Match 5
Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair

The bell rings as both these legends lock up. This match was not that long. Michaels and Flair exchange holds in the early going with HBK coming out on top. Flair gets frustrated at the start but comes back with a thumb to the eye followed by a suplex. Flair starts strutting in the ring and mocks HBK. Flair backs Michaels into the corner and starts delivering some right hands and then starts chopping away at Michaels. Michaels comes back with some knife edge chops of his own. Result: Double Count Out

Vince McMahon is on the phone to Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff is standing there listening. Paul thinks the battle royal idea is great but he believes that not only a Smackdown star will win KOTR, a Smackdown star will win the battle royal and will headline Smackdown’s Great American Bash ppv. Bischoff cuts in and says if Heyman saw the opening match tonight then he should realise that Raw’s KOTR participants are far superior than the Smackdown participants. They argue and Vince tells them both to stop it. Vince had an idea. In two weeks time on the final Raw show before the KOTR, the Smackdown KOTR participants will be invited to appear on Raw. They will be guests along with the Raw participants on Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel. Then on Smackdown, the Raw participants will feature on Smackdown to compete in a Raw vs Smackdown 8 man tag team match. He asks the GMS what do they think? The GMS thought it was a great idea. Vince tells Paul to watch the contract signing because he's going to add another stipulation to the KOTR tournament, Vince hangs up and up next is the contract signing for the world heavyweight title match.

Contract signing for the world heavyweight title match

Vince McMahon is in the ring with Eric Bischoff. Vince states that it is now time for the KOTR world heavyweight title match contract signing. Bischoff has included another stipulation which he will announce once HHH and Benoit are in the ring. HHH’s music hits as he comes out alone. HHH starts to brag about how good he is. He has finally got his rematch but Vince cuts him off. Vince calls out the world heavyweight champion Chris Benoit. Benoit’s music hits as he comes down to the ring. HHH was furious and looks at Eric but Eric can’t do anything about it. Benoit raises the world title in HHH’s face and places the belt on the table. HHH looks at it. They stare each other down and McMahon tells them to sit down on their chairs. The mind games already commencing. Vince announces that the winner of the KOTR will automatically receive a heavyweight title shot against their brands champion at SUMMERSLAM What a huge announcement, just like the previous tournament the tradition is still now on with the winner receiving a title shot at SummerSlam. Will Benoit or HHH be champion by SummerSlam? Bischoff applauded this announcement. Vince then goes over the contract. Both individuals have agreed to a stipulation in this contract, that contract and that stipulation states that it will be a one on one match as Evolution are barred from ringside. Also if HHH loses then he will receive no title shots as long as Chris Benoit is champion. Vince says he wants to see the fans get their money's worth as he wants this match to be a fair contest. Vince says Chris Benoit is for real after proving it at WrestleMania and Backlash. Vince declares that he is adding another stipulation to this, it’s not just Evolution that are barred. Should anybody else on the RAW roster try to interfere on Triple H or Benoit's behalf, they will receive an automatic suspension without pay for 3 months. Vince asks both men any questions? You can feel the tension here. HHH states before we get down to business he wants to remind Chris Benoit that back in February when he was the world heavyweight champion, they had a contract signing for their WrestleMania match. Benoit felt the pressure but now the pressure has eased and now he has learnt to deal with the pressure. Ever since Benoit won that title, he became a marked man. Benoit felt the pressure for having that target on his back. He’s in the same position as he was but the game does it better.

HHH still believes that Benoit is a one hit wonder. Benoit may have wrestled a one hour match and defeated Shawn Michaels but HHH has also beaten the best. He’s competed in an Iron Man Match and won, he’s the master of the hell in a cell match. He’s even beaten HBK on several occasions. HHH says for the past 2 months Benoit has been bragging about making him tap and thinks he can stand in this ring with the game huh? HHH picks up the world heavyweight title and looks at it and says you see this belt here Benoit, it used to be mine. Once this contract is signed Benoit, you will step into the ring with the game, you will step in the ring with the greatest professional wrestler alive today. You will be in for the biggest beating of your life. It will be the toughest match you’ve ever had. He talked to Eric Bischoff earlier this week on the phone and demanded to know why all the stipulations in this match are going against him? If he loses he gets no more title shots as long as Benoit is champion, well he’s going to make sure that doesn’t happen. Since he’s putting something on the line here, why doesn’t Eric tell Chris the final stipulation for this match. Eric quotes a line from Mr McMahon and states that in the interest of fairness, since HHH is putting something on the line here and there will be no outside interference, if Chris Benoit loses the match he loses his title. He will not only lose his title but he’s done from Raw. HHH has a big smirk on his face. Bischoff explains it clearly, if Benoit loses his title he would have to leave Raw and go back to Smackdown under Paul Heyman’s management. That’s right the man who made Benoit’s life miserable, a man who despises Benoit will have to work again with Benoit on Smackdown.

Eric asked Chris if he agreed to this. Chris looks at Bischoff and tells him that he better get used to seeing Benoit as champion. The night after KOTR, Bischoff will still see Benoit representing Raw as the world heavyweight champion. Paul Heyman may have made his life miserable on Smackdown but he proved him wrong by moving to Raw and went on to become the world champion. He is not going to be humiliated again. He looks at HHH and told him he made him tap before but now the pressure is on for both of them. If he loses not only does he lose the title, he leaves Raw. If HHH loses, then no more title shots as long as he is champion. This is it HHH, the final encounter. Benoit looks HHH in the eye and told him it took him so long to get to the top and he’s not going to let it go that easy. You said 2 months ago that it takes more than one match to be the best, look at him now, he’s still the world heavyweight champion so currently right now in this business Benoit is the best. For the past 2 months, HHH has been whining and complaining but after KOTR, HHH’s life will change when he looks himself in the mirror and sees that he has no world title around his waist. HHH fires back and states that the world title is his life. Raw is nothing without HHH but Raw can do without Chris Benoit. Once Benoit signs this contract, it is the beginning of the end for Chris Benoit. He’s going to send Benoit back to the minor leagues. He warned Chris that when he signs that paper it will mean the end of his run on Raw. HHH claims that he can beat Benoit one on one and will prove him wrong by winning back what belongs to him and that’s the world heavyweight title. Benoit says he proved at Backlash when he went the distance against HBK that Chris Benoit is for real. He’s proud to stand here in front of these fans as champion, he’s proud to stand in front of these fans because he’s never given up but HHH has. He has earned his way to the top just like HHH has. You can see the tension boiling here as HHH gets in Benoit’s face as they get nose to nose.

Alright gentleman, lets sign these documents and make this official. There it is, HHH and Benoit have signed. Vince says it’s official three weeks from today at the KOTR, HHH vs Chris Benoit in an I Quit Match with so much on the line here. Chris Benoit’s music hits as he raises the belt over HHH’s face and does his cut throat taunt to mock the game. Benoit goes to raise the belt in the air and looks at the fans. Suddenly HHH grabs his sledgehammer from under the table and HHH tips over the table. Who could have planted that under the table? McMahon and Bischoff get the hell out of dodge. HHH is about to hit Benoit with the sledgehammer. Benoit ducks, and takes down HHH by his legs and locks in the Sharpshooter on HHH who is yelling in pain about being in the hold. McMahon orders Bischoff to remove the sledgehammer from the ring. Bischoff slides in the ring to remove the sledgehammer and leaves with McMahon. Benoit has the sharpshooter locked in and asks HHH if he quits over and over again. HHH is tapping out but he isn't saying that he quits though. Benoit eventually lets go of the hold and goes outside the ring to get a steel chair, and then out of nowhere Evolution come out and get HHH out of there. Benoit comes into the ring to try to get to HHH who is outside of the ring, but it is like Evolution are blocking Benoit from getting to HHH. Benoit has a chair in his hand and taunts Evolution to get in. Flair, Batista and Orton stand on the apron and Batista gets in first and Benoit nails him with a chair. Orton gets hit with a chair but wait chopblock by Flair and Benoit goes down. HHH is back in and starts hammering away at Benoit. HHH nails Benoit across the head with a steel chair. Flair helps Orton and Batista get back up to their feet. Batista is fuming. Orton sets the table back up. HHH instructs Batista to powerbomb Benoit through the table. Oh no here we go Batista is about to powerbomb Benoit. IF YA SMELLLLLLLLLLLLLL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING .... The Rock’s music hits as The Rock runs down to the ring and lays the Smackdown on Evolution. The fans give Rock an outstanding ovation here, they are on their feet. The great one is back. Orton bails out the ring. Rock hits the Rock Bottom on Flair. He delivers some right hands to HHH until Batista jumps Rock from behind. Orton is back in and he wants to nail Rock with a chair. Orton goes for a swing but wait Benoit grabs the chair from Orton and nails Orton with a chair. He nails HHH with a chair to knock HHH out the ring. Rock clotheslines Flair over to the floor. Batista gets knocked over the top with a chair. Poor Orton is left alone in the ring and Rock hits the peoples elbow on Randy Orton. Batista pulls Orton out the ring as Evolution retreat to the ramp as Rock and Benoit shake hands. What an explosive ending to Raw as The Rock has returned from suspension to get his hands on Evolution. The Rock’s music hits as Rock and Benoit staredown Evolution as Raw goes off the air.

RAW Review

The show starting off with the Highlight Reel with Jericho was a nice breath of fresh air and then when he brought out his guests, 2 members of Evolution Orton and Batista, and then he began saying nice things about Orton but then ragged on him afterwards by saying how he doesn't deserve to even be a part of the tournament and that he got lucky against Maven, only for Orton to fire back and diss Jericho on his own show, and then Batista saying how he is going to beat the hell out of Jericho but then Jericho stirs the pot with Evolution trying to get Orton to turn on Batista or to get Batista to turn on Orton, and then Benjamin coming out on the Highlight Reel and talking about his victory last week against Ric Flair and that if he can do that he can beat Orton for sure in the tournament

Then the tag team match with Orton & Batista vs. Jericho & Benjamin, I personally enjoyed it because the win gives Batista & Orton some much needed momentum coming into KOTR, but I am also in a way intrigued because what if it is an all Evolution semi-final between Orton & Batista, who will lay down for who, or who will turn on the other in the match

HHH & Flair backstage in Bischoff's office, that segment I enjoyed also because The Game has something up his sleeve, and he was talking to Bischoff about that stipulation and whether Bischoff was going to do it, and he said you damn right I will, I smell a rat here!!!!!!

Benoit the World Heavyweight Champion beating A-Train in what I thought was a good match-up because it made A-Train look good I think, and Benoit needs the win because it gives him momentum coming into KOTR for his I Quit Match for the World Heavyweight Championship against HHH

Teddy Long T-Lo the Playa backstage with Maven, that segment I loved also because I want to see Maven be guided to the top by Teddy Long, and I believe they would make an interesting pairing, that is for sure

Vince making the announcement for the 30-man Battle Royal at King of the Ring, I love it, because the winner if he is a RAW guy he gets an automatic World Heavyweight Championship match at the next RAW brand PPV Vengeance and if the winner is a Smackdown guy he gets an automatic WWE Championship match at the next Smackdown brand PPV The Great American Bash. But what I also loved in this segment was Eugene coming down and interrupting Vince, but also at the same time stirring the pot between Bischoff and Vince, and then Eugene licking Vince, that made me die of laughter, and then Vince naming him an entrant in the Battle Royal, nice touch, and Coach snickering, this whole segment as a whole was funny

The Trish-Lita backstage segment I loved it as well because Trish attacked Lita as it sends a strong message that Trish is not a diva to be messed with in any way, and also that she wants to become WWE Women's Champion once again and with what she just did to Lita, I would say that she has a hell of a chance of being Women's Champion again

Victoria beating Gail Kim was a good match altogether, what made it even better was Trish coming down and attacking Victoria and then challenging her to a match for the WWE Women's Championship next week in Montreal for RAW, love it

La Resistance backstage with Todd Grisham, love this segment also because of Rene Dupree saying how he is now an entrant in the Battle Royal at the King of the Ring, and how after not qualifying he plans on winning the Battle Royal and going on to King of the Ring to face the World Champion, and then Sylvan & Rob Conway challenging the WGTT to a match for the World Tag Team Titles next week in Montreal, I love it personally, great touch

Conway beating Haas sends a strong message, and now La Resistance have momentum coming into next week for RAW in their hometown of Montreal, Quebec if anything I can see La Resistance getting a massive standing ovation in their home country of Canada in their hometown of Montreal for sure

HBK cutting a promo talking about the Battle Royal and how he says he is going to win it by throwing 29 other superstars over the top rope to once again become The Man, and to go on to Vengeance to face the World Heavyweight Champion whoever it ends up being, and that he is pulling for Benoit to beat HHH at KOTR, so that way he can have another match against Benoit for the title, but then talking about how he was screwed last week and how he intends to take it all out on Ric Flair

HBK/Flair ending in double countout I thought that was the right move, and it was a good back and forth match-up if you ask me

And then the whole Vince McMahon/Eric Bischoff/Paul Heyman backstage segment on the phone, was awesome, and Eric going on saying how a RAW guy is going to win the Battle Royal and then Paul saying how a SD guy is going to win the Battle Royal, and then Vince interceding, made it funny to me

And then the final segment for the evening with the Contract signing for the World Heavyweight Championship match the I Quit Match and Vince there at the contract signing making the stipulation that if any member of Evolution or any member of the RAW roster should come out during this match to interfere on Benoit or Triple H's behalf would be suspended automatically for 3 months without pay, makes this match fair and down the middle and then Bischoff making the stipulation that if Benoit loses this match he will not only lose his World Heavyweight Championship but that Benoit will get no re-match because he will have to leave RAW and go back to Smackdown, but that if HHH loses, he gets no more title shots as long as Benoit is champion, makes this a fair fight and I love it. And then as soon as both men are done signing the contract, and Benoit raises the World Title over HHH's face, HHH grabs his sledgehammer from under the table as it was planted there, and he tries to hit Benoit with it but Benoit ducks and takes HHH down by his legs and locks in the Sharpshooter and he is asking HHH if he quits over and over, HHH is not saying the words but he is tapping like crazy. And then Benoit going to the outside to go get a steel chair and then Evolution coming down to save HHH and then they attack Benoit only for Rock to make his return, and The Rock laying the smackdown on Evolution's candy asses, and then Benoit & Rock cleaning house at the end, I love it

Great RAW and I cannot wait personally until Smackdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Winner: RVD

Backstage Paul Heyman looks at the brackets for the tournament on a board as the field is now set. Paul loved the new stipulation that was added to the KOTR tournament. Dawn Marie is upset that her man Val Venis is not in it but hoped that Cena doesn’t win. Paul and Dawn make their predictions as Paul thinks Smackdown’s chances look very very good in the KOTR tournament. Paul makes his predictions and since he doesn’t care about a Raw star winning, he doesn’t rate Evolution’s chances at all because they tried to intimidate him on Raw 2 weeks ago but it didn’t work. He thinks Orton will cheat to get past Shelton. Dawn agreed. Then he believes Jericho will get past Batista because Jericho beat Christian in the barbed wire cage so Jericho is not to be taken lightly. Dawn thinks Batista will win. Then Paul gets excited by looking at the Smackdown matches. He crosses off Cena’s name and believes he stands no chance and writes down Hardy’s name for the Semi Final. Dawn agreed. Now out of JBL and RVD he thinks JBL will win. Dawn says JBL is good but Paul and her know RVD very well since the ECW days and he’s got to be one of the favourites for KOTR. He was the runner up of the previous tournament. She thinks RVD will go through to the semis. Now the semi final between Orton and Jericho, Paul thinks Jericho will shut Randy Orton up. Dawn thinks it will be an all Evolution semi final with Batista going through. In the other Semi final, he can’t decide who will win between JBL and Hardy. So Paul thinks either JBL or Hardy will meet Jericho in the final and a Smackdown guy will win. Dawn thinks it will come down to Batista vs RVD or Hardy in the final but now she can’t make her mind up which Smackdown guy will win. Paul says no matter what happens, a Smackdown guy is certain to win not only the KOTR but also the 30 man battle royal.

Eddie Guerrero/Edge confrontation

The new number #1 contender for the WWE Title, Edge comes down to the ring and brags about his victory last week. He states that it’s about time he got the respect he deserves from these fans. He’s been waiting for this opportunity all his life and finally on ppv he gets his first WWE Title match. Edge talks how other guys had their chances and he never got his opportunity. He had to sit out a whole year due to injury but if he wasn’t injured he would have been champion by now. He was left out the lethal lottery tournament but made his statement at Judgment Day. When he finally got his opportunity last week, he didn’t fail and won on his first attempt, beating 5 of the very best Smackdown has to offer. This victory alone just proves that he is better than all 5 superstars that he beat. Now nothing stands in the way of him and destiny and that his destiny will be fulfilled when he beats that Latino paper champion Eddie Guerrero in 3 weeks on June 13, 2004. He tells the people to mark that date on their calendar because that will be the day that Edge officially goes down in history as WWE Champion. Edge mocks Eddie by doing his taunt. Edge claims that he will bring more ratings to Smackdown than Eddie as champion. Edge wants to show the fans a clip until Viva La Raza hits as Eddie Guerrero comes down in a low rider. The Eddie chants have started and Eddie Guerrero starts off by saying orrale Milwaukee. He looks at Edge and told him he may have beaten 5 superstars last week but currently at this moment, Edge is looking at the best. To be called the best he has to beat the WWE Champion, Oralle Vato. Eddie says now Edge can’t complain about receiving a title shot because he’s got his title shot now and he’s going to blow it. If two monsters couldn’t stop Latino Heat then what makes Edge think that he can stop Eddie Guerrero esse? Eddie says all Edge has done since coming back is attacking people to make a statement, does that make him a better man esse? Well Latino heat has overcome every obstacle that’s been put infront of him and it’s going to take a lot to overcome Latino Heat.

Edge brings up their past matches and shows Eddie clips of some of their past matches where Edge defeated Eddie in singles matches and tag team matches. This includes their epic No DQ match they had on Smackdown. Eddie was busted wide open and Edge delivered an Edgecution on Eddie from the top of the ladder. That settled their feud which was one of the greatest matches in the history of Smackdown. Fans boo Edge and Edge says he proved he was the better man. Edge states that two years ago Eddie was jealous of him because he was popular and Eddie couldn’t handle it. Now Eddie has stolen his fans, they’ve moved on from the Edge Army and blames Eddie for it. Eddie says that’s what he’s all about holmes, he lies, he cheats and he steals esse. Edge talks about his success as a tag team wrestler, his success as a singles star, he's been KOTR. The point he’s trying to make is that all that is missing is the WWE Title. He was the biggest star from that elite group of the Smackdown six. He was Smackdown’s fastest rising star. He claims that he was better than Eddie but it was unfortunate that he got injured. If he was not injured, he would have become champion before Eddie and Eddie wouldn’t have been champion. Eddie just got lucky. He became champion around the time when he was almost ready to return. Eddie says what do you mean lucky holmes. He worked hard for many years and earned his way to the top. He went through 15 men to win a royal rumble and earn a title shot. In his first opportunity he won the WWE Title, something which Edge couldn’t do against Brock Lesnar. Huge pop from the fans. Eddie talks about his victories over Kurt Angle, The Undertaker and Kane at Judgment Day. He’s proved that he is a fighting champion, a great champion and will be for a long time. More Eddie chants You see holmes, two years ago you were not the only one that carried the show, we were all part of it and were the backbone of this show and made it successful.

The series of matches they had against each other really showcased the talent of them and helped them be future main eventers. More Eddie chants and Edge says he is sick of the Eddie and 619 chants. More Eddie chants. Edge states that since Eddie lies, cheats and steals he’s not going to let Eddie’s tactics get the best of him. Edge knows that Eddie will do anything to retain the title so if Eddie is looking for a cheap dq win that’s not going to happen. He challenges Eddie to a match they had 2 years ago, a match where he beat Eddie to prove he is better. He wants the same No Disqualification match but this time the stakes are even higher as the prize is the WWE Title. Eddie says you want it, you got it holmes oralle vato. Edge claims that Eddie is not fit to be champion and he’s going to be a transitional champion and Edge is going to take that title and humiliate Latino Heat. Eddie fires back and says since you’re taking everything holmes, why don’t you take this. Eddie knocks Edge down with a right hand. Eddie and Edge come to blows and Eddie clotheslines Edge to the floor. That’s that bad temper of latino heat, Eddie all fired up. Latino heat has exploded. Eddie taunts Edge to get inside the ring and fight him. Eddie says Oralle holmes coz I lie i steal i cheat coz no one can with stand my LATINO HEAT. Eddie’s music hits as Eddie and Edge stare each other down. Paul Heyman comes out on the stage and tells both men that they will be competing in the ring tonight in a 6 man tag match. He announces Eddie Guerrero teaming with Rey Mysterio and The Undertaker as they will face Edge, Kane and Mordecai.

Michael Cole says what a match up this is going to be between Edge and Eddie at KOTR. Can both men top their previous match they had 2 years ago on Smackdown but this time it’s for the richest prize in the business, the WWE Title. Tazz says he's really looking forward to the main event tonight. Tazz and Cole will also interview the Smackdown participants in the KOTR tournament later on. Tazz thinks the winner out of JBL and RVD will go all the way to win the tournament. Cole thinks Cena will win the tournament. Tazz then plugs the new Divas Magazine as Torrie is on the front cover. Stacey Keibler isn't here tonight and Tazz thinks we could be seeing Stacey on the cover next month.

Backstage Booker T confronts Rey Mysterio in the locker room. Booker complains about not winning last week and blames Rey Mysterio for it. Booker believes it should be him who should have gone on to KOTR to face Eddie Guerrero but now he has to wait a bit longer. Another opportunity has come and this time he’s going to win the 30 man battle royal and vows to throw Rey out the battle royal. Rey reminds Booker that he beat him 2 weeks ago. Rey knows that Eddie can beat Edge and Eddie will ruin Edge’s dream at KOTR. Eddie shows up and Booker T gets in his face. Eddie tells Booker he had no problem with Booker until Booker attacked him last week, he got involved in Latino Heat’s personal issues. Now he does have a problem with Booker. Booker tells Eddie if there is something he agrees with Edge then that’s Eddie being lucky. Booker talks about how he was robbed of opportunities to receive a title shot and how Eddie has been escaping him since Booker came to Smackdown. It don’t matter to him who wins out of Eddie or Edge because Booker T’s going to win the WWE Title soon. Eddie fires back and states that he is addicted to competition and knows that a lot of guys are gunning for the title, no problem holmes. Eddie states that all Booker can do is talk the talk but he can’t walk the walk. Rey says Booker is like Edge, they betrayed their partners, they run their mouths and talk about being robbed of opportunities. Rey says how about next week, him and Eddie against Booker and Edge, now can you dig that Book huh? Book says yeh i can dig that sucka it’s on. Rey and Eddie leave and Booker thinks that they’ve left but come back in and yell SUCKAAAAAAAAAAAA in Booker’s face and leave. Paul Bearer is in a dark room with Kane and Mordecai. Paul Bearer claims that The Undertaker has become weak ever since Mordecai made his presence felt in the WWE. Without Paul Bearer and the power of the urn, the Undertaker simply can’t compete against the powerful entity of Kane and Mordecai. What they did to Taker last week was just the beginning and there is a lot more to come. Mordecai states that he will punish The Undertaker for all the sins he has committed. He will be punished for what he put Kane and Uncle Paul through. Kane says Eddie Guerrero still has something that belongs to him and that’s the WWE Title. Now that Edge has got that opportunity, whoever is champion after KOTR, Kane will finally take what he believes is rightfully is. If Edge gets in their way tonight then he won’t be able to make it to KOTR. Kane then sends a message to John Cena not to get involved in his business tonight or he will hurt him. Paul Heyman asks Booker to leave and as Booker leaves he shouts suckaaaa to Eddie to mock him. Paul tells Eddie to calm down, he tells Eddie that Rey won’t be able to compete tonight now. So Eddie has two choices, either go out there and wrestle in a 3 on 2 handicap match or find a partner to replace Rey. He still has some time left so if Eddie is successful in finding a partner then it will be a 6 man tag. Eddie is angry and leaves.

Ever since Nidia left the WWE, Noble hasn’t been the same, Nunzio hasn’t been the same either since Palumbo and Bull were traded to Raw. Nunzio thinks Noble is a great wrestler, they’re around the same size and together they would make a great team. He wants to know if Noble wants to team with him as Nunzio believes if they team together they would soon become the tag team champions. Noble agreed to it and told Nunzio he’s been the cruiserweight champion before but he’s never held the tag team titles before and neither has Nunzio. They may be small but they will let their wrestling do the talking in the ring. They shake hands and looks like Smackdown has a new tag team.

Michael Cole and Tazz interview the Smackdown KOTR participants

Michael Cole and Tazz are in the ring to interview the Smackdown KOTR Participants. All the Smackdown guys that are in the tournament come down to the ring. The stakes are even higher now because not only does the winner become King, the winner receives a heavyweight title shot at SummerSlam. Cole is going to ask one question which they will all answer. What makes you deserve to be King of the Ring more than the other 3 Smackdown participants in the tournament? Matt Hardy starts if off by bragging about the reaction he got when he hit the ring. He wants to thank all his MFers for all the support, and all the hard work will pay off when he wins the KOTR. Since coming to Smackdown, V1 has been on a roll. It’s in his destiny to become KOTR. He just came over from Raw and knows what the competition is like from over there and he believes that he can beat any of the Raw guys in the final. Matt says everyone seems to favour Batista here but when in 2 weeks on the highlight reel he will tell it to Batista in his face. Matt thinks he has the qualities to win KOTR and his opponent John Cena does not. He may have the US Title but he doesn’t have Mattitude in him. All the fans can chant Cena Cena Cena right at the top of their lungs and they can chant RVD, RVD, RVD all night long but there is absolutely no one that can stop him from winning the KOTR. Everyone here is unique, they all have something that sets them apart from everyone else, however Matt Hardy Version 1.0 happens to be more gifted. Matt states that becoming King has launched the careers of many stars and he will become bigger than Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle and HHH. Matt then claims that he will go on to become WWE Champion at SummerSlam and then he will go on to headline WrestleMania next year.

Actually it shouldn’t be called WrestleMania, it should be called Matt-a-Mania. That’s the reasons why Matt Hardy Version 1.0 deserves to be KOTR. More boos as Hardy hands the mic back to Cole. It’s RVD’s turn now but JBL takes the mic off Cole. JBL says nobody wants to hear what RVD says, half the things he says are a load of crap. JBL says he understands that Milwaukee is a little backward but they are chanting for the losers. You don’t chant RVD RVD RVD or Cena, Cena Cena, you chant JBL JBL JBL but very soon they will be chanting KING JBL. All these people pay to come and see him. JBL says Matt’s rise on Smackdown has been impressive but JBL’s had the better success story. He came to New York City without a single penny, but he made his fortune here. He did this all by himself. JBL made fun of Rey Mysterio, he thinks Rey got what he deserved because he is not worthy of being in the main event of Smackdown. He disgraced Smackdown last week and paid the ultimate price for it tonight. JBL claims has all the qualities to become King because he’s rich, he’s better looking than all of these guys here, they are all jealous of him. He makes more money than all these guys and he’s the best guy to represent Smackdown in this tournament. He is a role model. Matt disagreed and claims that he is the special one. This is why Paul Heyman decided to have him back on Smackdown. All these Mattitude followers will be supporting V1 all the way. Matt claimed he is the definition of a role model and not JBL. Matt provides an example of taking some guys under his wing as they became his Mattitude Followers. Matt is so full of himself here and claims that Cena, JBL and RVD don’t even have the MATTributes to be his Mattitude followers. It looks like they all need a double dose of Mattitude.

RVD and Cena watch Hardy and JBL go on and on. JBL cuts Hardy off but RVD asks for a mic and Tazz gives him another mic. RVD who qualified earlier on informs all of them that he’s the only guy in the ring right now that has experience of the KOTR tournament. None of these guys have ever been in the actual tournament and are bragging that they will do this and that. Just to remind them all in the last KOTR he was the runner up. He almost had it but came close but knows what it is like to get there. This time he's gonna go all the way to win and become King and then will go on to SummerSlam to become the WWE Champion. RVD looks at JBL and told him that if JBL was running America, America would not be in a good state. JBL was furious. He’s heard JBL run his mouth for the past couple of months, he’s a lot like Booker T as they betrayed their partners. RVD tells JBL he seems over confident but there will only be one king and that’s R...V...D. JBL fires back and says to get far he had to step on people to move forward but people like RVD like to live the HIGH LIFE if he knows what he means. People like RVD don’t care about becoming successful. JBL states that after he becomes King he will make it his mission to become United States Champion and the WWE Champion at SummerSlam. Cena cuts JBL off and says did you just say United States Champion.... you want some... COME GET SOME. Cena says he’s been waiting for a while now to talk and heard what they had to say but now they will hear what he has to say because THE CHAMP AND THE KING OF THE RING IS HERE. Big pop from the crowd. Cena makes fun of Matt Hardy and JBL. Cena states despite being the United States champion he’s being written off by not only Paul Heyman, Dawn Marie but a guy that failed on Raw and a guy that’s a cheap Million Dollar Man wannabe. He believes RVD will meet him in the semis and he will make it another failed tournament for RVD. Cena states that this is the year of John Cena and he’s quickly becoming Smackdown’s fastest rising star. If there is anyone who’s going to win the tournament then it’s going to be him. He's going to make history by being KOTR, US Champion and will go on to become WWE Champion at SummerSlam.

He’s the only champ representing Smackdown and he’s going to add to it by being crowned the King. Cena cuts a rap on Matt Hardy and makes fun of his Mattitude persona. He mocks Matt's run on Raw and he can't be a role model because he didn't take Eugene under his wing. Matt fires back and thinks Cena isn’t funny at all and the joke will be on Cena at KOTR. Matt claims that at KOTR, Cena will be the one to suffer an unfortunate twist of fate. They all argue over who will meet who in the Semi Finals. As JBL has a big mouth he states that guys like Cena and RVD are a disgrace to America. They have no class. Guys like them are what’s wrong with America. JBL is a great American, he is a reason for all these people to look up to. That is why he deserves to be KOTR. JBL says Cena is not fit to represent the WWE as United States Champion. JBL looked at RVD and said if RVD was given the ball to represent the WWE as champion then he would disgrace the legacy of the WWE Title, RVD is no company man, JBL is. JBL has a proclamation because after he wins KOTR, he will make all of you including the fans bow down and kiss his royal feet. He vows to make RVD become the first to kiss his feet. RVD has had enough and gets a right hand on JBL and we get a brawl in the ring. Matt Hardy escapes. JBL was running his mouth for too long. Cena drops JBL with an F-U and RVD delivers the rolling thunder. RVD looks at JBL and did his taunt but wait from behind Cena picks RVD up and plants him with the F-U. Cena did his you can't see me hand taunt and looks at RVD. Matt Hardy is on the ramp as Cena stares him down. Will John Cena become the next KOTR?

Eddie Guerrero meets John Cena in the back and Cena volunteers to be Eddie and Taker’s partner for tonight.
