WWF vs WCW - Doing it Right

The WWF vs WCW Invasion angle was the biggest let down in wrestling history. People waited years to see Stone Cold vs. Goldberg, Sting vs The Undertaker, The Rock vs Hulk Hogan, Triple H vs Ric Flair. Instead we got WWF guys vs WWF guys. My thread is going to go back to this time and try to do what should of been the best angle ever the right way. My first show will be the Raw is War the night after Wrestlemania X7. I will post short WMX7 results with some changes to the outcome of a few matches. Hope you enjoy......

WWF Intercontinental Championship
Chris Jericho (c) defeated William Regal following a Lionsault to retain the IC title.

Tazz and The APA defeated Right to Censor (The Goodfather, Val Venis, and Bull Buchanan) following a clothesline from hell from Bradshaw to the Goodfather.

Hardcore Championship Triple Threat Match
Raven(c) defeated Kane and The Big Show after pinning Kane after he was choked slammed by The Big Show off the entrance stage where Raven was already after being kicked off the stage by Kane.

European Championship
Eddie Guerrero defeated Test(c) to win the European title after interference from fellow Radicalz members Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn, and a frog splash.

Chris Benoit defeated Kurt Angle following two diving head butts from the top rope.

Womens Championship
Chyna(c) defeated Ivory to retain the title following a Gorilla Press Slam.

Father vs Son
Shane McMahon defeated Vince McMahon by pin fall after interference from WCW wrestlers Booker T. and Diamond Dallas Page.
~Following the match Shane, Booker and DDP put a WCW shirt with the new logo over the body of Vince McMahon. Shane then grabbed a mic and simply said the war has begun.~

TLC match for Tag Team Championship
Edge & Christian(c) defeated The Hardyz and The Dudley Boyz after Edge grabbed the title to retain them for him and Christian.

Iron Shiek won a gimmick battle royal.

The Undertaker defeated Triple H by pinfall following a last ride to bring his WM record to 9-0.

WWF Championship No DQ Match
The Rock defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin by pinfall after Goldberg interfeared and speared Austin. The Rock, who did not see the Spear, followed up with a Rock Bottom and got the win to retain his title.

My next post will include complete WWF roster, champions, and events information. The preview for my first show, Raw is War, will be posted after that and hope to get the results up by the end of the week.

Looks interesting. Will be reading this and expect to see some of those mega matches. The result swerve for the main event seems good and lays down the path for Austin vs Goldberg.

Never seen any other work from you. I enjoyed the Invasion angle for what it was but with stars like Goldberg and possibly Sting, Hogan, Nash & Hall, it can actually seem like a proper threat. I'll be looking in. :)

Re: WWF vs WCW - Doing it Right

Well, this is a good idea for a BtB. I will be reading and see what you will do. I wasn't too happy with the beginning though, to be honest. I just think that you should've let Wrestlemania end on its own, without any WcW. But that's just me. Hopefully we won't see too much of switching sides like we did with the WWE version. But yeah good luck, and I'll be reading.

Well, this one is an interesting angle. Invasion. But the WWF creative gave us their guys against their guys. Pathetic move. And at the Survivor Series, it is obvious that WWF won.

Well, I want to see the team of Stone Cold, Rock, The Undertaker, Triple H and Kane facing the WCW with Goldberg, Sting, Hulk Hogan, Rob Van Dam (ECW) and Kevin Nash/Scott Hall/DDP. Interesting feud indeed.

Goldberg interfering in the Main Event is a cool idea. Having a fresh start on their feud. Also the coming of some WCW guys like DDP and Booker.

Hey, This is a great thread. I like that somebody is going to do the Invasion and give it the dignity and impact it should have had. You're already doing a great job with Goldberg, Booker T, and DDP debuting at Wrestlemania. Good Luck.

Re: WWF vs WCW - Doing it Right

Preview for

April 2nd, 2001

Many will say Wrestlemania X7 was the best Wrestlemania ever. The night was filled with shocking and jaw dropping moments from start to finish. Now what will happen the very next night on Raw is War live from Ft. Worth, Texas.

~Last night after Shane McMahon defeated his father with help from WCW stars Booker T. and DDP, Shane McMahon declared the war between WWF and WCW had begun. Now how and will Vince McMahon and the WWF retaliate on Shane and the WCW and will we see anymore new faces from WCW appearing on RAW?

~Later in the main event between The Rock and Stone Cold for the WWF title another WCW star appeared when Goldberg speared Stone Cold out of nowhere and cost him the title. Stone Cold has been livid about this and plans to call out the man who cost him the match last night, Goldberg. Will we finally see a fair face to face encounter between two of the biggest stars from the past decade?

~A rematch from Wrestlemania has been announced as Chris Jericho will defend the title again against the Commissioner of the WWE, William Regal. Obviously this is Regal using his power as the match maker of WWF to his advantage against fellow contenders for the IC title.

~Another title match has been announced as well, as the newly crowned European Champion, Eddie Guerrero will defend his title against former Radicalz member Chris Benoit. Both men are coming off big wins at Wrestlemania now will face each other for the European title which should be a tremendous match.

~A 6 man tag match will also take place on Raw as Too Cool & Rikishi will face the newly formed X-Factor consisting of X-Pac, Justin Credible, and Albert.

~An announcement from the Commissioner will be made as to who will be the new No.1 contenders for the WWF World Tag Team Championships.

~WWF Champion, The Rock will be in the building and plans on addressing the situation which occurred during his match last night. The Rock was not to pleased after watching back his match and seeing how Goldberg interfered.

All this plus much more on the first Raw is War following the greatest Wrestlemania of all time.

Confirmed matches
Intercontinental title match
Chris Jericho(c) vs. WWF Commissioner William Regal

European title match
Eddie Guerrero(c) vs. Chris Benoit

Six Man tag match
Too Cool & Rikishi vs. X-Factor (X-Pac, Justin Credible, Albert)

Re: WWF vs WCW - Doing it Right

Hey man, just read your Raw preview. I can't wait for your first show. The hype for it is awesome. Don't fuck it up lol. The staredown between Austin and Goldberg is going to be fuckin epic. Hopefully The Rock can get involved somehow. Eddie Guerrero Vs Chris Benoit will be an awesome match. Please make it at least 10 minutes long. I'm excited to see if any new WcW faces will appear. I wonder what Shane will have to say to Vince lol.

And here a few tips. Try to show emotion in your BtB. For example in the Austin/Goldberg face off, try to describe it as well as possible. Include things like fan reaction, face expressions from the 2, their positioning in the ring, their tone, their mood, maybe even some commentary. Ya know, it makes for a better show.

Well, good luck man. I look forward to your first show.
