WWE Monday Night Raw Preview- 15/8/05- Rochester, New York

It is just SIX nights until the biggest party of the summer, Summerslam! Tonight marks the final stop on the road to Washington for the stars of Monday Night Raw and it is sure to be as heated as hostile as you could expect with championships, futures, careers all hanging in the balance after tonight.

Last week saw a shocking conclusion to Raw as we were shown an image of Shawn Michaels laid out cold backstage, surrounded in a pool of his own blood with the Big Red Machine, Kane standing by, laughing in a sick, menacing manner. You would have to assume this was the work of the Devil’s Favourite Demon, however, we have learned that tonight Kane will speak on the issue and rumour has it, all is not quite what it seems. Will the Heartbreak Kid even be in New York tonight? What has Kane got to say? Will Eric Bischoff reprimand the monster he is desperate to see take gold come Sunday? And will the World Champion himself, Batista have anything to say on the matter?

The Intercontinental Champion will be in action here tonight as Muhammad Hassan will go one on one with the man who can call himself ‘Money’ come Sunday, Chris Jericho. Jericho faces Edge at Summerslam with the Rated R Superstar’s Money in the Bank contract up for grabs following a heated rivalry between these two men. Can Jericho build some momentum here tonight or will the current Mr.MITB have something else in mind? For Hassan it is all about keeping the momentum he gained last week when he pinned his opponent come Sunday, Shelton Benjamin. Hassan has continued to gain the upper hand on Benjamin and with six nights to go until their showdown, another strong outing from Hassan would no doubt put even more worry into the challenger’s mind.

Speaking of Benjamin, he and Charlie Haas will take on The Heart Throbs tonight. Haas has been on a roll of late, winning left, right and centre, in the process trying to spur on his partner but so far failing to do so with Benjamin continuing to suffer defeat. Will tonight be the night that Shelton gets back on the saddle and build steam towards Summerslam or will Haas once again outshine his partner?

More Tag Team action is also scheduled as the Basham Brothers will take on Sonjay Dutt and Daivari of the Arabian Entity. These two teams will be on opposite sides of the ring at Summerslam as part of an 8 man tag team match but tonight it’s two on two. Who will leave New York with a win under their belt and who will leave with a mountain to climb come Summerslam?

Mark Jindrak takes on Big Show this Sunday in what will no doubt be a brutal No Holds Barred contest. Tonight Jindrak has requested a warm up match and his request has been granted. Jindrak will go one on one with another giant of a man in Rosey with the No Holds Barred stipulation in place. How will Jindrak fare heading into this deadly enviroment and can he send a message to the World’s Largest Athlete?

And finally, tonight may mark the final night on Raw for the Nature Boy himself, Ric Flair. This Sunday, Flair will put his career on the line against Christian and has been afforded the chance here tonight to speak to the audience, with GM Eric Bischoff claiming that this is Flair’s goodbye. We won’t know on Sunday but it is sure to be an emotional one here tonight and you have to wonder whether Flair will be able to get it all out and just whether or not his opponent on Sunday will simply stand back and allow Flair this moment.

All this to come LIVE on Monday Night Raw as well as much, much more. You won’t wanna miss it!

Confirmed for tonight’s show:

No Holds Barred:
Mark Jindrak vs. Rosey

The Basham Brothers vs. The Arabian Entity

The World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. The Heart Throbs

Muhammad Hassan vs. Chris Jericho

Plus;

Ric Flair’s ‘Goodbye’

And more on the attack of Shawn Michaels last week
!

Friday Night Smackdown
Friday 2nd January 2009 - Preview!
From the San Diego Sports Arena
San Diego, California

We ended 2008 with a bang with John Cena forfeiting the World Heavyweight Championship, meaning we go into 2009 without a world champion. Cena's predecessor, CM Punk certainly was happy to see the back of 2008, vowing to quit the company last week and put Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley 'to sleep' if she crosses him again. He'll be hoping that 2009, and specifically the Royal Rumble in just over two weeks makes up for the controversial end to the year at Night of Champions. He & Cena were told by Tazz last Friday night that they will meet again at the Rumble in a No Holds Barred match to determine who will become the undisputed World Heavyweight Champion. Stephanie wasn't too pleased with the decision but she was the only one, and she stuck her nose in Punk's business again by counting another quick fall against The Straight-Edge Superstar last week, gifting Bryan Danielson a huge victory. She can consider herself fortunate that Cena came to save the day, but with Punk's threats firmly in our thoughts, will they be in Stephanie's this week? It seems that Punk is almost at breaking point and Stephanie will be best to avoid Punk, but will she do just that or will she continue pushing his buttons?

Christian made his shock return to Smackdown two weeks ago and last week he called out his brother, Edge, challenging him to a match, and after being goaded into accepting, Edge attacked Christian before he could enter the ring. Captain Charisma fought back and their failed match ended with Christian sending his brother through the announce table after a Killswitch. Christian let everyone know he was back to win the Royal Rumble and get revenge on his brother, and it looks like he's well on the way, just what will Edge have to say about it?

Two other men who have also declared their intent to win the Rumble and leave as the new WWE Champion will go at it this week after Chris Jericho challenged Shawn Michaels to a match following last week's show when Michaels caught him with what the Canadian described as a 'cheap shot'. Jericho also announced he was leaving Smackdown to rejoin Raw, and the self proclaimed Best in the World made an impression on his first night back by attacking The Big Show after The World's Largest Athlete defeated the WWE Champion, Triple H. It appears that Jericho's returned on a mission but he'll have a big challenge on his hands when he meets The Showstopper this week in San Diego in what should be a great match as they prepare to go all out in preparation for the biggest Royal Rumble match in history.

Also in action will be the man who in the last two weeks has defeated the United States Champion, Matt Sydal. Dolph Ziggler's on a role right now and he's set his sights on meeting the 2008 King of the Ring for a third time, only this time with Sydal's title on the line, and this week he'll meet Sydal's friend and a formal rival of his own in the shape of Elijah Burke. Can Ziggler keep his winning streak going by overcoming Burke? He failed to do so when they met at No Mercy several months ago so he has a challenge on his hands this Friday night.

Another man making impression on Smackdown right now is Bryan Danielson, and having defeated CM Punk last week thanks to Stephanie, he'll be looking to pick up another win when he takes on 'The Gold Standard' Shelton Benjamin in what also promises to be a terrific match.

The new WWE Tag Team Champions, The Empire came crashing down to earth with a big bang last week when they met the rejuvenated team of Paul London & Brian Kendrick in what was fortunately for the champions, a non-title match. The men they cheated out of the titles at Night of Champions five days earlier came looking for revenge when it looked like the champions were about to cheat their way to another victory. Paul Burchill & TJ Wilson, along with Harry Smith & Natalya Neidhart made sure that didn't happen, and the distraction of the action on the outside gave London & Kendrick the chance to pick up the upset and their biggest victory since their reunion. We hear that The Empire plan to make an address in San Diego this week. What do they plan to say? Tune in to find out!

Beth Phoenix has been nothing short of unstoppable since becoming the first ever Diva's Champion, but last week she discovered she may have met her match in the shape of O.D.B. The Glamazon & Maria were victorious in tag team action against O.D.B. & Michelle McCool thanks to Beth hitting the Grand Slam on McCool, just as she did at Night of Champions to retain her title. It didn't go down well however with McCool's partner, and O.D.B. returned to the ring to attack Maria until The Glamazon came to her aid, much to the anger of O.D.B. She'll have a chance to take that anger out on another diva she's had problems with since coming to Smackdown in Mickie James. It'll be a tough match for both divas and one neither will take for granted after their previous meetings.

2008 ended in exciting fashion and 2009 threatens to continue in the same manner. Make sure you're watching the first show of the new calendar year as we draw even closer to this year's history making Royal Rumble.

>Confirmed for the First Smackdown of 2009!<

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho

Christian
vs. Jack Swagger

Elijah Burke
vs. Dolph Ziggler

Bryan Danielson
vs. Shelton Benjamin

Mickie James
vs. O.D.B.

NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS OFFICIAL PREVIEW
September 18, 2011
Niagara Center - Buffalo, New York

WWE Championship Match
Six-Pack Challenge Elimination Match

Alberto Del Rio © vs John Cena vs CM Punk vs The Miz vs R-Truth vs Kofi Kingston

Six Men, One WWE Championship. Each of these men have something to prove in this match; Alberto Del Rio needs to prove that he is not a fluke champion. John Cena needs to prove that he is “The Greatest WWE Champion of All Time”. The Miz needs to prove that he is not a one-hit wonder. CM Punk needs to prove that he is the rightful and undisputed WWE Champion. Kofi Kingston needs to prove that he deserves his place in this match and competing for the biggest title in the industry. R-Truth needs to prove that he deserves another shot at the gold. Each man has his own ambition to succeed and walk out of Buffalo as the WWE Champion, but only one of them will be able to achieve their goal.

Each man has also had a different road coming into Buffalo after Triple H announced this match would take place. John Cena and Alberto Del Rio have been having a war of words and as well as trying to take the other out at every available opportunity, but when they did lock up two weeks ago, it was the WWE Champion that reigned supreme after a pipe shot to Cena’s arm, which has been plaguing him ever since, not helped by the sneak attack from Del Rio this past Monday night. CM Punk has been at odds with the new Raw General Manager, John Laurinaitis, who he suspects is behind the two attacks from Kevin Nash that have cost Punk the WWE Title twice. Punk though has found himself an ally in Kofi Kingston, to combat the “Laurinaitis Administration” consisting of The Awesome Truth; these four men have been heavily involved with each other the past few weeks heading into this match and it seems it is The Miz that has all of the momentum after he has managed to pin Punk three weeks in a row, but at the end of the broadcast on Monday, it was Cena standing tall.

With all these issues between these six men creating a cobweb of different rivalries heading into this match, these Superstars will fight it out until only one remains. The biggest question lasts though; Just who is going to walk out of Buffalo with the most coveted prize in all of wrestling?

World Heavyweight Championship Match
Six-Pack Challenge

Randy Orton © vs Mark Henry vs Wade Barrett vs Sheamus vs John Morrison vs The Great Khali

That’s right, we have TWO Six Pack Challenges on this show, but this one comes from Smackdown, where Randy Orton will defend the World Heavyweight Championship he won at Summerslam. Under pressure from Triple H, Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long announced qualifying matches for this match, and Mark Henry was the first man to qualify when he defeated Sin Cara, followed on the same night by Wade Barrett, who bested Daniel Bryan. The following Friday, Sheamus beat Jinder Mahal and John Morrison made his Smackdown return and beat Christian in an impromptu qualifying match. Former World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali won a Battle Royal to claim the last spot in the match and book his ticket to Night of Champions.

But be under no illusion, there are just as many rivalries weaved into this match as its Raw counterpart. Sheamus and Mark Henry have been at each other’s throats for two months and each time they have been in the same match all hell has broken loose as not only the announce table but the ring barricade have been broken by Henry using Sheamus as a battering ram. Barrett and Orton have been trading verbal barbs also, with both men getting just as good as they get, but Barrett hasn’t hesitated to take advantage and cause further damage to Orton’s shoulder which he injured in his rematch with Christian, but this past Friday Orton pinned Barrett after an RKO in a 6 Man Tag featuring these six combatants. Khali, guided by the always shouting Jinder Mahal, has managed to give Morrison his first loss since returning to the blue brand. Each one of these men have the capability to win the gold this Sunday and we’re sure that they’ll do anything to do so.

United States Championship Match
Dolph Ziggler © vs Rey Mysterio

At Night of Champions 2009, Rey Mysterio walked in as the Intercontinental Champion and successfully defended the gold against Dolph Ziggler. Fast forward two years, and proving that he has advanced leaps and bounds since then, Ziggler walks into Buffalo as the United States Champion and this time the Master of the 619 is the challenger.

Back in 2009 however, Dolph Ziggler did not have the managerial expertise of Vickie Guerrero, a woman that has been detrimental to the careers of both Ziggler and Mysterio but in different capacities. Whilst she is one of the reasons for Dolph's success in the WWE, she is also responsible for the worst part in Mysterio's, and it appears that Guerrero has installed her personal feelings into Ziggler as he shares Vickie's desire to rid the company of Mysterio. But as per order of John Laurinaitis, Guerrero will be a non-factor this Sunday as in the interest of fairness she is banned from ringside! Despite this, Guerrero and Ziggler were seen to be quite confident on Raw, and one only has to wonder what they have up their sleeve. Will Ziggler be able to retain his title using just his pure ability against the veteran Mysterio? Or will Rey repeat the feat of two years ago and win the coveted United States Championship?

Smackdown! Money in the Bank Contract
Submission Match

Daniel Bryan © vs Christian

There have been honest concerns for the mental state of Christian since he lost the World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam as the self-professed "Saviour of Smackdown" has shown some obsessive behaviour with Randy Orton, the World Heavyweight Championship, removing Theodore Long from power, and now Daniel Bryan's Money in the Bank contract.

Captain Charisma realised that Bryan was the only way to the World Heavyweight Championship after Triple H denied him from being allowed to challenge for the World Title after he failed to regain it. Since that point, Christian has been trying to make a change on Smackdown by getting Long fired, citing that he is not being treated fairly, and has threatened to take action against Long many a time. At the same time, Christian goaded Daniel Bryan into a match at Night of Champions after he cost him a chance in the Six-Pack Challenge in the Battle Royal. Bryan agreed to put his precious briefcase on the line if the match were to be his speciality, a Submission Match. Bryan must have been worried though after Christian displayed his submission ability, showing off a Cloverleaf to defeat Yoshi Tatsu this past Friday night. Even Christian's best friend, Edge, has displayed concern for his friend when he returned to Smackdown to host The Cutting Edge talk show. Christian will be driven by the fact that all he has to do is beat the WWE's resident Submission Specialist at his own game in order to get the chance to reach the top of the Smackdown tree once again.

Intercontinental Championship Match
Cody Rhodes © vs Sin Cara

Since becoming Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, along with his associate Ted DiBiase Jr, have been focused on proving that Cody is truly the best in the world, and the way they set to do that was challenging non-American Superstars to a match with Cody, and the guarantee that they would earn a shot at the prestigious gold around Rhodes' waist should they beat him. Japan's Yoshi Tatsu and England's William Regal both tried and failed.

But up stepped Mexico's Sin Cara, fresh off beating Christian and almost toppling Mark Henry, the Mexican Idol tried his luck at Cody's challenge... and won. Albeit by disqualification after DiBiase's involvement, Theodore Long still deemed Sin Cara worthy to face Rhodes if he was able to defeat DiBiase in a No Disqualifications Match, in which despite Ted's best efforts, Sin Cara was able to get the victory and advance to face Cody at Night of Champions, clearly angering the unpredictable champion. The last Smackdown before the big showdown Cody & Ted teamed up against Sin Cara and William Regal, who vowed for revenge after he failed to gain his shot. Cara and Regal scored the big win after Cody deserted his friend, citing that it was payback for potentially costing him his title. Sin Cara seems to have driven a wedge between Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, and it might be enough to coax Rhodes into a mistake this Sunday so Sin Cara can pick up his first piece of championship gold in the WWE.

WWE Divas Championship Match
Kelly Kelly © vs Beth Phoenix

In one of the more personal matches on the card, Kelly Kelly once again finds herself defending the Divas Championship against Buffalo's own Beth Phoenix. Despite the argument that Beth shouldn't get another shot after failing at Summerslam, "The Glamazon"'s accomplishments since then do all of the talking; going undefeated and brushing aside almost all of the Divas, including a pin fall over the champion herself in tag team action on Raw.

The dominance shown by Phoenix and her Divas of Doom partner Natalya has began to put them in the favour of the WWE Universe, and especially since both Raw and Smackdown were in Natalya's home country of Canada this past week, the reactions received by the Divas Champion have not been very polite from the fans, leading to Kelly breaking down this past Friday night on Smackdown; but she admitted that she knew she is going to be facing an extremely hostile crowd inside the Niagara Center, but she promised that the reaction from the fans will do nothing but spur her on to overcome the odds once again. Will Phoenix continue her dominance or will Kelly Kelly pull off the ultimate upset and beat Phoenix for the second time in a row on Pay-Per-View?

WWE Tag Team Championship Match
David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty © vs Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov

The first match that was announced for Night of Champions was that the WWE Tag Team Champions David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty would defend the gold against Santino Marella and the returning Vladimir Kozlov.

Santino and Kozlov earned their shot by defeating The Usos and Jinder Mahal & The Great Khali in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match on Smackdown, and they also picked up a Count Out victory against the champions. The two teams have traded wins in singles competition, with Otunga beating Santino on Raw and Kozlov dominating McGillicutty; the Russian being on a roll since returning to the WWE the night after Summerslam. Otunga has been impressive though, beating Raw announcer and Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler on Raw this past week after Lawler repeatedly called the champions boring, a claim that has not been disproved since the former New Nexus comrades won the gold. It seems that Otunga and McGillicutty will have to let loose a little bit if they want to stay at the top of the Tag Team Division.

Re: The BTB Advertisement Thread

I've finally made it. One month into my employment with World Wrestling Entertainment, and the stage is set for my first Pay Per View. Creating the stories up to this point has been quite a task, but Mr. McMahon and the superstars have been very cooperative in bringing my ideas to life. There is much more to come, but for now, I have to get through the biggest party of the summer, Summerslam! I have some excellent things in store for the WWE Universe, and I'll leave it at that.
