Last week on Raw was chaos personified; following the return of Vince McMahon to call CM Punk’s bluff by bringing The Rock back into the fray, Punk went about tipping the scales right back in his favour. Though the fans (and the WWE locker room) were sure that Rocky’s in-ring return would spell the end of Punk’s crusade before it could start, the Second City Saint shocked viewers by attacking the Chairman at the end of the show alongside the Convoy, promising that his troubles were only just beginning. Punk challenged McMahon to meet him in tonight’s main event, and though we know all too well of the Boss’s hot temper, especially after his embarrassment last week, it remains to be seen whether he will allow himself to be lured into Punk’s next ploy.

Elsewhere on Raw, Triple H won the right to face The Miz in dubious circumstances over John Cena last week, meaning that he will be next in line to the WWE Title at Capitol Punishment. While Dolph Ziggler is set to explain why he cost Cena that vital match, Jerry Lawler has given The Miz and Triple H a forum to exchange their inevitable heated words, when the two future opponents meet for a face-to-face. With Vince McMahon breathing down the Game’s neck about a possible corporate job, Capitol Punishment takes on new meaning for the Boss’s son-in-law, still eager to prove his in-ring ability, especially with the anarchy on Raw at the moment.

Also tonight: Skip Sheffield looks to redeem The Convoy after Mason Ryan’s loss to Percy Watson last week, when he faces Darren Young, and after Superkicking the luckless Ted DiBiase, John Morrison looks to prove himself as the ‘winner’ he claims he is when he faces Trent Barreta. We’ll hear from United States Champion Tyler Black… and what havoc is next for Michael Tarver?

Big Bang!
May 6, 2001 (Las Vegas, NV)

WCW Big Bang! (Las Vegas,NV) Sunday May 6, 2001

---Opening Video---

A new red and black World Championship Wrestling logo appears on the screen signifying a new era and a return from their hiatus. A video plays showing Bischoff addressing the wCw fans via telephone on the March 18th episode of Nitro, where he sounds de-pleaded as the buyout was looking like collapsing.The video continues onto the March 26th episode when the commentary team was trying to make sense of what was looking like the last ever episode of Nitro. We see the conclusion of the Sting, Nature Boy fight and Tony Schiavone calling it a fitting end. Eric Bischoff then delivers his message at the end of Nitro explaining how he has brought World Championship Wrestling.

---The Reset Button---

The camera pans around the arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no commentary team in place. The camera then goes backstage where Eric Bischoff is in his office holding a red button. He welcomes everybody to the show and hits the button saying he has hit the reset button on wCw. He says this is a new era for wCw and that he hopes everybody enjoys the show, the Big Bang logo appears and it's showtime.

---Welcome Back to WCW---

Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay and Scott Hudson are now in position as the team welcome viewers back to WCW. Tony Schiavone says it is a day they thought may never come and they hand over to Dave Penzer who introduces the new President of World Championship Wrestling, Mr Eric Bischoff.

---All Titles Vacated---

Eric Bischoff comes out to a mixed reaction from the crowd but mainly positive for the man who saved the company. The ring has a red cover down and there is a table in the ring, Bischoff enters the ring and soaks in the noise made by the capacity crowd. Eric Bischoff starts by talking up the Fusient partnership and how they have all the resources to bring wCw back to the top. He says there was no chance in hell he was letting Vince McMahon get his hands on this company which he has put so much blood and tears into. He says he has hits the reset button on wCw which means all titles have been vacated.

He calls out the Cruiserweight Tag Champions first, Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman comes down and reluctantly place their titles on the table. After they leave Bischoff takes them off the table and apologises then pulls out a bin from under the table and drops the belts in essentially retiring the newest titles in wCw.

Sugar Shane Helms is called out next and he places the Cruiserweight belt on the table and then Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo do the same with the Tag Team Titles. Eric Bischoff then turns his attention to the current United States and World Heavyweight Champion Booker T who gets a massive cheer from the wCw crowd.

Booker T comes out and holds the two titles up in front of Eric Bischoff who smiles and then acknowledges he knows how Booker must feel. Booker T gets right in the face of Eric Bischoff and then says he believes a champion should be beat for his titles, Bischoff responses “I know, I know”. Booker then leans into Bischoff and says “I hope you know what you are doing bro”. Booker takes the World Title and US Title and places them on the table as the fans boo.

---World Title Tournament---

Eric Bischoff stops Booker from leaving the right and tells him not to worry and that he has a chance of winning back his title tonight. He announces an eight man tournament and reveals Booker T as the first man. He then introduces the rest who make their way out and stand by the entrance. Lance Storm, Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash and DDP are all called out and stand on the ramp.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown Preview- 7/10/05- Sacramento, California

We are just forty eight hours away from No Mercy where the fate of the WWE Championship hangs in the balance. Sunday night will see John Cena put his gold on the line in a Fatal 4 Way Elimination match against Kurt Angle, The Undertaker and Randy Orton with tonight being the last chance to build momentum heading into this huge showdown.

Despite being banned from any unsanctioned physicality, Randy Orton seemingly found a way to dodge that bullet and make his mark last week. When the lights went out following our main event, they returned to see both John Cena and Randy Orton laid out with Orton appearing on the ramp. Orton wouldn’t have the last laugh however as again the lights went out, only for the Phenom, The Undertaker to appear and take Orton down with a Tombstone Piledriver. Will Taker and Orton’s budding rivalry continue tonight, will Angle and Cena have words for the Legend Killer and just what will Orton have up his sleeve again tonight?

Speaking of Kurt Angle and John Cena, they were defeated in the main event last week by WWE Tag Team Champions, MNM. With teamwork a clear issue between these two rivals, Angle refusing to tag Cena whilst Cena FU’d the Wrestling Machine, there will surely be more tension between the two here tonight. With Angle’s similar ban to Orton on unsanctioned physicality, he knows he can’t touch Cena but will the champ wanna dish out more punishment on the Olympic Gold Medalist?

A big six man tag match has been signed for tonight involving two of the big match ups this Sunday at No Mercy. United States Champion Matt Hardy will team up with Paul London and Brian Kendrick to take on Carlito, Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms and Chavo Guerrero. With the U.S and Cruiserweight Titles on the line at No Mercy, will anybody be able to head into Houston full speed ahead with a victory here tonight?

Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio gave a passionate speech last week about how they won’t fall for MNM’s games at No Mercy and how MNM’s ‘mystery man’ will play no part in the outcome of their Tag Team Title match this Sunday. Tonight we’ve learned that we will hear from the A-Listers who will respond to Van Dam and Mysterio’s comments last week. What will Melina and her boys have to say forty eight hours ahead of their toughest test to date?

Also confirmed for tonight, a Fatal 4 Way match involving the partners of those men involved in last week’s Fatal 4 Way contest. It’ll be JTG, Jamie Noble, Rene Dupree and Psicosis going at it ahead of the Tag Team Gauntlet match this Sunday night. Who will steal a march with victory here in California? Also, JBL and Bobby Lashley will be in attendance ahead of their First Blood showdown Sunday night and what will Teddy Long have to say, if anything, on his upcoming job evaluation?

Confirmed for tonight’s Smackdown:

John Cena, Randy Orton, Kurt Angle and The Undertaker will all be in attendance;

We will hear from MNM;

JTG vs Jamie Noble vs Rene Dupree vs Psicosis;

Plus;

Matt Hardy, Paul London and Brian Kendrick vs Carlito, Gregory Helms and Chavo Guerrero
