The show opens with the usual pyro erupting from the stage and ramp. "Know your enemy plays" and Josh Matthews & Booker T open up commentary at ringside.
Booker T: We are right here, live tonight, its not Friday Night Smackdown, its Thursday Nights dawg!!!!!!
Josh Matthews: That's right Booker, Smackdown goes live tonight! We are right here, right now, live in Charlotte, North Carolina!
Booker T: We sure gonna have a good show for ya'all tonight! The new WWE owner Mankind will be right here, in this buildin' tonight!
Josh Matthews: Well it looks like we're going to kick things off tonight with an appearance from our General Manager, Teddy Long!

Teddy Long makes his way down the entrance ramp into the middle of the ring.
Teddy Long: I'm out here tonight, playas, to address the entire WWE universe.
Teddy Long: There have been major changes, regarding the way that this company will be run.
Teddy Long: For starters, we are now Thursday Night Smackdown Live!! in Charlotte!!!
Teddy Long: But despite the new owner ship, the schedule changes, the new titles, this is and will still continue to be Teddy Long's show.
Teddy Long: And as Smackdown General Manager, what I think...

A very familiar voice is heard through the speakers. The lights go off all around the arena, and the titantron begins to flicker, and then...

What The Rock is cookin'!!!
The Rock's theme music begins to play as the man himself strolls out to the ring
The Rock: Teddy Long, The Rock hears what you're sayin', but it just doesn't make any sense to The Rock.
The Rock: Do you why that is Teddy?
The Rock: Because as of tonight, you aren't the Smackdown General Manager, and this isn't your show anymore.
Teddy Long: Now hold on just a minute, playa!
The Rock: And just so you know, this was never your show!
The Rock: This was The Rock's show, from past to present, from future to now, hold on a minute playa! The Rock is here, what the hell you gonna' holla' about now?
The Rock slams the microphone against the ring floor, then hits Teddy Long with a Rock Bottom!
Booker T: Tell me I didn't just see dat!
Booker T: Dat right dere, dats always been Rocky's show, and he jus' took it back!
The Rock raises his arm high above his head as his theme music plays and he walks off to backstage as the new Smackdown General Manager.

Josh Matthews: Here we are, back on Thursday Night Smackdown Live! and we have a new general manager in The Rock!
Booker T: Dat's right Josh, and we've just had a message that our new GM, he has scheduled a tournament for here tonight to decide the #1 contender for the newly retained World Heavyweight Championship!
Josh Matthews: The first match scheduled for right now, and the debut of the ever-exciting international superstar Sin Cara! Could he be in line for a title shot already!?
Match 1: #1 Contender Tournament - Quarter Final - Sin Cara vs Mark Henry
The match-up begins with both men squaring off in the center of the ring. Sin Cara attempts to land some vicious kicks to Mark Henry's legs, but he barely flinches. Mark Henry floors Sin Cara with a powerful clothesline. Picking Cara up, Mark Henry squeezes him into the Bearhug.
Booker T: This man right here Mark Henry, is makin' sure Sin Cara isn't gettin' off to a flyin' start in dis' business!
Josh Matthews: Completely agree with you Booker, Mark Henry simply toying with Sin Cara at the moment.
Sin Cara has been locked in the bear hug for nearly half a minute, and is still struggling to break free. Mark Henry turns to the crowd away from the referee, and Sin Cara kicks Mark Henry in the nuts!
Booker T: My goodness! Dat' was a low blow right dere!
Josh Matthews: But the referee didn't see it!
Mark Henry keels over in pain, as Sin Cara directs the referee's attention to a part of the turnbuckle which has been loosened. The referee goes over to re-attach the turnbuckle pad and Sin Cara continuously kicks Mark Henry in the balls! Again and again again again! Mark Henry falls to the ground.
Booker T: I can feel dat' from over here! Dat's gonna hurt in the mornin'!

Josh Matthews: An impressive start for Sin Cara?
Booker T: Well Josh, he got the job done, and dat's what you need to survive in this business! No fancy tricks tonight, just gettin' the job done!
Josh Matthews: Smackdown filled with action tonight as we go straight into another one of our quarter-finals!
Match 2: #1 Contender Tournament - Quarter Final - Christian vs Wade Barrett
Wade Barrett arrives alone to the ring, suggesting the Corre is no longer together. Christian enters with Edge by his side who joins the commentary during this match.
Booker T: Hey man, how you doing tonight?
Edge: I'm good Booker, watching my friend become #1 contender, what could be better?
Booker T: Congratulations at Wrestlemania by the way, great result!
Edge: Thanks man, it meant a lot to me, I've not held a great track record at Wrestlemania's.
Edge: Oh, and I have a message from The Rock, he's a little busy right now, preparing our main-event, but he informed me that we will no longer require your services Josh. And you've to check yourself out of the Smackdown hotel.
Josh Matthews: Haha, good one Edge, The Rock wouldn't actually fire me, would he?
Edge: Yeh man, totally serious.
Josh Matthews: What?
Edge: Yeh, you have to leave, like now.
Josh Matthews: Well, I think-
Edge: Oh yeh, he told me to say something else to you, what was it, oh yeh, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK!
Josh leaves the commentary table and slinks trough to the back, embarassed and ashamed
Booker T: Woah! Cver by Barrett! It's over! Barrett advances!

Edge:What the hell, how did we miss the whole match?
Booker T: I think Barrett hit wasteland, not sure.
Edge: Christian's gonna' be pissed.
Christian storms over to the commentary table and begins to shout at Edge.
Christian: I thought you had my back man! What the hell were you doing?!
Edge: I was taking care of some business man, you should have had him 1-on-1 anyway!
Christian: You know what, don't bother accompanying me next week, we're through!
Edge: Man, come on!
Christian: One more thing, I slept with Lita.
Edge: I'm gonna' kill you! Come back here!
Christian sprints away backstage laughing with Edge chasing after him in a frenzy.

Booker T: Welcome back to Thursday Night Smackdown! Just me on commentary at the moment, as just moments ago, Josh Matthews was fired, by word of our new GM, The Rock.
Booker T: I would just like to take this time to say, I think the new GM is doing a wonderful job, and he is the best man to be running dis' show!
Booker gives the camera a cheesy thumbs up, as the camera flicks to the entrance ramp.
War Machine by Kiss begins to play, and the drum beats fill the room
A very familiar face emerges from behind the curtain, as the crowd rise to their feet.
Wanna bite the hand that feeds me, wanna turn the tides
Set the demons free and watch 'em fly
Strike down the one who leads me, I'm gonna take his place
Gonna vindicate the human race
Better watch out 'cause I'm a war machine
Booker T: Holy shit! It's TAZZ!
Tazz walks down the entrance ramp to a standing ovation, and makes his way to the commentary desk.
Booker stands up, and shakes his hand, as Tazz walks into the ring.
By word of the new Smackdown! general manager, The Rock. I have been re-instated as a Smackdown! commentator!
The crowd goes wild!
So I won't waste any further time, lets get straight back to the action on THURSDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN!
The crowd whoops and hollers more as Tazz takes his rightful place on commentary beside Booker T.
Booker T: Good to have ya' back Tazz! Now let's take a nice relaxing break from the #1 contender tournament with some Diva action!
Tazz: Looks like I came back at exactly the right time!
Match 3: Layla vs Kaitlyn (SD! Diva's Title)
The match begins and Layla takes control from the off, she begins to slam Kaitlyn's face in to the mat. Layla then irish whips Kaitlyn into the turnbuckle and attempts a flying clothesline, however misses, and Kaitlyn rebounds off the ropes and hits a one-handed bulldog-

WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN'
The two competitors freeze in the middle of the ring, as the new Smackdown GM struts into the ring.
The Rock: Now, you wanna' tell me what you two think you're doing?
Layla and Kaitlyn both look confused.
The Rock: Oh, you haven't heard?
Both Layla and Kaitlyn shake their heads.
The Rock: You see, now Myself, Stone Cold, and Mankind run the show here, and there have been some, "technical changes to yuor Diva's Title."
The Rock: Because you Diva's all have such excellent bodies, we're gonna showcase them to the world.
The Rock: So we have re-formed the Diva's Title, as the Mud Wrestling Title!
The Rock: To be defended in Mud Wrestling matches only.
The crowd go wild as The Rock steps out of the ring, leaving both divas still in the ring.
The Rock: So let's GO!
Mountains of mud begin to fall from the ceiling, covering both Layla and Kaitlyn from head to toe, and covering the ring in the process. The referee rings the bell.
Match 3 Restart: Layla vs Kaitlyn (Mud Wrestling Title)
Both Layla and Kaitlyn roll around with each other in the mud, grappling for control. Layla gets up first and irish whips Kaitlyn into the turnbuckle. Layla attempts another flying clothesline but slips in the mud, and Kaitlyn takes advantage by locking Layla into the ChickBuster! (Modified Camel Clutch!) Layla is screaming in agony, as Kaitlyn applies more pressure to the hold, sitting on top of Layla. She keeps this pressure applied, and then pulls the front of Layla's top up, exposing her top half to the millions of fans. Layla shrieks and rolls throug the submission. Kailtyn springs to her feet, but loses her footing and Layla hits her patented swinging neckbreaker on Kaitlyn. As she lies motionless, Layla removes Kaitlyn's top for revenge, and sprawls out on top of her, for the cover.

There is a significant lack of commentary at this part of the show as the commentary desk can do nothing but gaze open-mouthed at what they just witnessed.
Layla walks back up the ramp, holding her Championship aloft, while Kaitlyn lies half-naked, covered in mud, embarassed.

As the commercial break ends, the 3rd quarter-final has already begun.
Match 4: #1 Contender Tournament Quarter-Final - Cody Rhodes vs Daniel Bryan
The matchup has already been going on for a few minutes, and we begin coverage when Cody Rhodes is in control, dominating Daniel Bryan. Rhodes has Bryan in a butterfly lock on the canvas, and begins to use his protective mask to headbutt away at the back of Bryan's head. Cody Rhodes senses the oppurtunity to end the matchup, and attempts the Cross Rhodes, only for Bryan to reverse and rip Cody's mask off his face!
Cody ducks away in embarassment, and Daniel Bryan uses the mask to hit Cody square across the eyes!
Booker T: The mask was cleared for competition so its technically still legal!
Tazz: Some good innovation there from young battler Daniel Bryan.
Cody Rhodes gets back to his feet, and Bryan attempts another hit with the mask, only to hit the referee!
Tazz: Some bad marksmanship there by Daniel Bryan, what's gonna happen now the ref is out?
Cody goes for the Cross Rhodes, Cross Rhodes connects!
Booker T: What the hell! Bryan's down, but there ain't no ref to call it! That's a 3-count easy!
I hear voices in my head, they come to me, they understand.
The talk to me!
They talk to me!
Tazz: Randy Orton, The Apex Predator, what the hell does he want!?
Booker T: I don't know Tazz, but whateva it is, it don't look too good for Cody Rhodes in 'dere.
Randy Orton rushes down to the ring, and begins to land right hands on Cody Rhodes. Rhodes rolls out of the ring as Orton follows him.
Booker T: Dis ain't right! Let the match go on, dere's no need to be involved Randy!
Cody Rhodes leans over the barricade, playing possum as Orton walks straight into a right hand, and another, and another, and Orton goes flying over the Spanish announce table!
The referee begins to stir as Cody makes his way back into the ring, but Bryan connects with the mask!

Randy Orton smiles on, as Cody Rhodes protests to the referee about the decision.
Booker T: Right dere' that's cheap! That's cheap!
Tazz: Randy Orton clearly taking a dislike to Cody Rhodes, will there be any backlash, we just gonna' have to wait and see!

Smackdown! returns as the camera goes backstage, to interviewer Matt Striker, and Smackdown! superstar The Undertaker.
Matt Striker: I have been fortunate enough to have some time with Smackdown! superstar, The Undertaker to get his views and opinions on the new changes, and any upcoming challenges.
Matt Striker: Undertaker, 19-0 is an incredible feat, but where do you go from there, do you go after the World Heavyweight Championship?
The Undertaker: I have defeated many men, many worthy competitors inside that ring.
The Undertaker: And almost all of them have been eradicated.
The Undertaker: I thought Triple H was the last outlaw.
The Undertaker: But I was wrong.
The Undertaker: Now, I go after the only man who is left.
The Undertaker: The darkness is only big enough for one phenom.
The Undertaker: And as a result, The Rock must be destroyed.
The screen begins to crackle, and then all footage is stopped from the interview room. There is a black screen for a couple of seconds, and then the feed resumes from ringside.
Booker T: I would not like to be The Rock right now, that is for certain!
Tazz: Me neither Booker, anyway, we are now ready for the last quarter-final in this #1 contendership tournament!
Match 5: Kane vs Randy Orton - #1 Contender Tournament - Quarter-Final
Randy Orton appears to be carrying an injury to his knee from his earlier assault on Cody Rhodes, and Kane makes good use of this, dominating Orton completely in the early stages. Orton struggles through the match and Kane after several minutes of wearing orton down, lands the flying clothesline from the top rope!
Kane motions for the Chokeslam! Bu-
Booker T: Who is that? Is that The Rock?
The Rock launches into the ring, waiting for Kane to turn around, and lands Kane with The Rock Bottom! The Rock rips off his T-Shirt and lifts Kane up.
Tazz: No, he can't!
The Rock lifts Kane high, turns him over;
Tombstone Piledriver! Kane lies motionless on the mat!
The Rock drags Orton over Kane for the cover;

Booker T: Kane just got screwed out of the contendership!
Tazz: Hold on Booker, The Rock looks like he's gonna' address the fans.
The Rock: You see that, you big rotten corpse, grave-diggin, eye-rollin' emo!
The Rock: Consider that a message, Undertaker. The Rock ain't gonna back down from no-one, because The Rock is never, and I mean NEVER alone.
The Rock: So what you're gonna do Taker is take your big fat, deadman ass and book it right into the Smackdown! funeral home!
The Rock: Cause' The Rock is the greatest, in the whole of the past, and if you gotta' problem, you can kiss the people's ass!

Booker T: Now it's time for the Main Event!
Match 6: Ladder Tornado Tag: Santino Marella & Vladimir Koslov (c) vs The Dudley Boyz (Unified Tag Team Championships)
The match has barely gotten underway, when The Duley Boyz take control. Utilising a ladder each, they quickly take Kozlov down to size, and focus on Santino. Sanino makes the Cobra gsture but they both just laugh at him, and he runs away to the back, crying about how mean the Dudley Boyz were.
Kozlov runs after him, which leaves the ring free for The Dudleyz to reach up and become the new Tag Team Champions!
Your winners, and the new Unified Tag Team Champions! THE DUDLEY BOYZ!
Booker T: What a great tag team, and now they are officially the best in dis' business!
The Dudleys continue to celebrate at the top of the ladders.
Tazz: Booker, I just saw someone come out from under the ring, two people!
Booker T: Dat's Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins! The Long Island Iced Z's!
Ryder and Hawkins surprise the Dudleys, and push them both off their respective ladders to the outside! Hawkins drags Bubba Ray Dudley into the ring!
Booker T: WHAT THE HELL? WHAT THEY DOIN' NOW THIS AINT A SCHEDULED TAG MATCH!
Hawkins covers Bubba Ray as a referee comes charging down the ramp!

Hawkins celebrates with his new title held aloft as Zack Ryder raises his arm in victory.
