Re: WrestleMania XX-- WWE With a Twist
Alright, my first four shows and Backlash will all be in recap form, because I actually want to be able to get through some shows. This is the only show I've got done, and I start school tomorrow, so my shows might be taking a pretty long time to get up, but I'll try my best.
The show opened up with Vince McMahon coming out to the ring, apologizing for there being no Raw last week. He said that he and his family have gone over everything, and they think they have a solid set of superstars that will compete on Monday Night Raw. He went on to say that tonight, every single superstar, all 42 of them, would compete in a 3 hour Raw Roulette special. He said tonight that names were going to be made and that titles were going to be claimed. He announced three set matches for tonight. He said that the Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton will face off against The United States Champion John Cena, the Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio, former United States Champion The Big Show, Mick Foley, Rob Van Dam and former Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero. He said that later on tonight, the wheel will be spun to decide what kind of match that will turn out to be. He also said that another match that was confirmed was The Dudley Boyz will take on The World’s Greatest Tag Team in a Tag Title Unification match. He said that also in the match would be the APA, The Basham Brothers, the returning Edge and Chris Jericho, The newly acquired Jeff Hardy and his brother Matt Hardy and the team of Val Venis and Tommy Dreamer. He also announced one more match, and that was going to be a World Heavyweight and WWE Championship title unification match. He announced that the participants would be Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Triple H, Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Kurt Angle and a man who just signed a wrestling contract again last night, Stone Cold Steve Austin.
First Match: Test faces off against Billy Gunn. Test spun the wheel and got a no-dq match.
The two men started off equal, Test tried to use his size advantage but to no avail. Test then reverted to underhanded tactics, hitting Billy Gunn with a blatant low blow while Gunn was starting to build momentum. Test then started to gain momentum, but got highly frustrated when he hit Gunn with his patented Pump Handle Slam but Gunn wouldn’t go down for the three count. Later on in the match, when it started to get “fun” because weapons were finally introduced, Billy Gunn was now in control after bashing Test over the head with a steel chair. Test looked to be out cold, so Gunn went for the count but only got a two count. Gunn finally was able to put the big bad Test down after two more chair shots, then a Fame-Ass-Err onto the chair.
Winner: Billy Gunn
The camera then came back from commercial to Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, and Michael Cole at the announce table. JR and King welcomed Cole to the announce team of Raw. Cole said his thank yous, but he said that he missed having Tazz sit next to him. JR and King tell him not to worry because Tazz is now a backstage interviewer. The camera went backstage to Tazz, who was standing by with fellow ECW Alumni Mick Foley. He interviewed Foley about WrestleMania XX, where he made Randy Orton pass out with Mr. Socko. Foley then pulled Socko out and put it on his hands. He made Mr. Socko say that Ortons mouth tasted like dog shit. He said that Orton really needs to learn how to brush his teeth, because after he got out of that mouth, he felt dirty. Tazz and Foley then looked at eachother for a short moment and burst out laughing. Foley took Mr. Socko off his hand and put it in his pocket. He told Tazz that it felt great for the Rock ‘N’ Sock to get the big win at WrestleMania. He said that even though the odds were stacked against them, they were still able to pick up the win. He then went on to say that he hopes that Randy is ready, because tonight he is going to be Foleys first target. Suddenly, Batista and Randy run into the picture and jump Foley. They start to beat him down when suddenly Tazz locks Randy in the Tazzmission! Batista didn’t realize it until Randy was almost out and when he did realize he hit Tazz in the back of the head and spinebustered him through a table. Randy got back to his feet and lifted Foley to his feet. He told Foley to watch, because this is what he is going to see tonight. He then kicked Foley below the belt and stood with his title held high above his head. He and Batista laughed as they walked away and Tazz was starting to stir in the ruins of the table as Foley was on the ground holding himself.
The camera then went back to the announce table, where all three men were silent for a few moments. JR broke the silence by saying that Evolution is really getting out of hand, and it’s only the beginning of the show! King speaks up and asks how it’s out of hand already; Orton just put Foley in his place. JR says that Randy didn’t have to attack Foley even before the match started, he could have waited until the match to try to get his hands on him. Cole spoke up and said that maybe Randy didn’t want Foley in the match with him because he was scared Foley would beat him, just like last week. That being said, Kane’s music blared over the P.A. He walked down to the wheel and spun it, looking disgusted as it only landed on “normal match”. He looked even more disgusted when he found out his opponent-- The Hurricane.
Second Match: Kane faces off against The Hurricane. Kane spun the wheel and got normal match
The match started off looking like it could possibly be a good match, with Hurricane really using his speed to outdo Kane on many maneuvers. Hurricane hit quick kicks to Kane’s legs, bringing him down to size. He then attempted a quick Shining Wizard and connected. He went for the pin but only got a two count and Kane lifted Hurricane off him and flung him half way across the ring as he was kicking out. From there on out, it was all Kane. As soon as Kane got to his feet, Hurricane tried to run at him again but got taken down with a huge clothesline, turning him inside out. Kane then went on the assault, throwing Hurricane around the ring like a ragdoll. The finish of this agonizing match finally happened when Kane hit The Hurricane with not the first, not the second, but his third tombstone of the night. He went for the pin, but for the fourth time of the night, he lifted Hurricane’s shoulders up. He then lifted Hurricanes lifeless body up and slammed him down to the mat with a hellacious chokeslam, the second of the night for him. He then put his foot on Hurricanes chest and pinned him with ease.
As he was being announced the winner by Lillian Garcia, he grabbed the microphone from her. He first yelled Undertaker into the microphone. He then started to talk about how last week he was robbed of something great. He was on the right track to giving The Undertaker his first loss at WrestleMania, but Undertaker just wouldn’t die. He asked The Undertaker why he just didn’t die? He went on to say that he burried the Undertaker alive, but Undertaker came back from that. He says that he knows what is going on with the Undertaker. He laughs, and he says that he knows all too well what is going on with him and Sara. He said that he knew how they have been having frequent fights. He said that he knows that The Undertaker has been sleeping in a hotel ever since the night of WrestleMania XX. Kane says that he knows that The Undertaker and Kane are on the rocks, and that is why helped The Undertaker. He said that he would like to introduce to everyone, his new girlfriend, Sara! Sara came out and said that as of WrestleMania XX, she had filed for divorce against The Undertaker. She says that The Undertaker is old news, and that Kane is the new man in her life. She also said that she hopes the Undertaker gets his ass kicked tonight. She went on to say that The Undertaker is an old washed up man who should of left the company two years ago. She then kissed Kane in the middle of the ring as the two walked up the ramp together.
The crowd boo’d as Randy Orton made his way out to the ring, wearing his Intercontinental Championship around his waist. He walked down to the ring and walked over to the wheel and spun it. The wheel landed on Elimination Match! The other six competitors in the match walked out to the ring.
Third Match: Randy Orton (Intercontinental Champion) vs. John Cena (United States Champion) vs. Rey Mysterio (Cruiserweight Champion) vs. Mick Foley vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. The Big Show vs. Rob Van Dam: Winner will decide what championship will stay on the Raw Brand and be the champion of it.
The match started off like everyone thought it would, all the men in the match gained up on the biggest man, The Big Show. He fought back, however and was able to get it between just him and John Cena. On the other side of the ring, Mick Foley and Randy Orton were battling eachother, exchanging blows to the head. The first elimination came when John Cena hit a huge FU on the Big Show after Big Show got hit with a 619 by Rey Mysterio. The two men both jumped ontop of Big Show to get the pinfall. The next elimination came only moments after when Rey Mysterio turned around and got a RKO from Randy Orton. Orton then knocked all the other men out of the ring and got the easy pinfall on Rey Mysterio. The next elimination came when Rob Van Dam was able to hit a frogsplash onto John Cena, eliminating him from the contest with a pinfall. The match was then down to three; Rob Van Dam, Mick Foley, and The Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton. The thing that happened next was a surprise to everyone. Randy Orton was in an intense battle against Mick Foley. Suddenly, The Rock jogged down the ramp and slid into the ring. He put a few good hits onto Orton, knocking him down. He then turned around and slugged Foley in the jaw! He lifted Foley up and hit him with a Rock Bottom. He grabbed the downed Randy Orton and threw him ontop of Mick Foley so Foley got eliminated. This, of course, got massive boos from the crowd as The Rock stood on the ramp with a smile on his face. After Foley realized what happened, he chased The Rock to the backstage area. The end of the match finally came when Rob Van Dam was on the top rope getting ready to deliver a Five Star Frog Splash and connected with the move. Rob Van Dam was then able to pin Randy Orton. He held up the two titles; The United States and The Intercontinental and looked at both of them. He then threw the Intercontinental Championship to the mat and lifted up the United States Champion.
Winner: Rob Van Dam (New United States Champion)
The camera then went to Eric Bischoff backstage with Vince McMahon. Bischoff asks Vince what he has in store for some of the other wrestlers who won’t be competing in the two other title matches. Vince says that tonight Batista will go one on one with... But it gets interrupted with Mick Foley rushing into the room. He looked Bischoff right in the eyes and only said three words. “The Rock, Backlash” Bischoff nodded as Foley then turned around and left the room.
Batista then came out to the ring and spun the wheel. It landed on “open challenge”. Batista waited for a few moments, and no one came out. He started to laugh in the middle of the ring, when suddenly a heart beat came over the P.A. The number “13” started to flash on the tron as the fans in attendence all stood up cheering. Tazz, making his return to the ring, came out from the back dressed like he was ready to compete.
Fourth Match: Batista vs. Surprise Opponent (Tazz)
The match started off with Batista dominating the match, either because Tazz has gotten too old or the ring rust has set in on the man. Two minutes into the match, we saw which it was, as Tazz hit Batista with a belly to belly over-head suplex, in which the crowd exploded. Tazz then took control of the match, hitting all different kinds of suplex’s on Batista to take the big man down. Tazz eventually made the mistake of trying to lock in the Tazz-mission to early on Batista, which Batista battled out of. This allowed Batista to take control of the match. It seemed like he was going to pick up the win after hitting a Batista Bomb on the veteran, but he didn’t go for the pin, which JR and King called a “rookie mistake”. Batista then started yelling at Tazz, telling Tazz that it was a mistake stepping back into the ring. Batista lifted Tazz to his feet and smacked him in the face. Tazz fell to the mat in a crumble. Batista then started to gloat around the ring, yelling that he was the animal of Raw. He again lifted Tazz to his feet, and Tazz looked groggy. Batista turned around for a split second, and instantly realized it was a bad idea when Tazz locked in the Tazz-mission! Batista tried to battle out of the submission, and he finally did when he drove Tazz back-first into the turnbuckle. Batista then made a cut-throat sign, yelling it was over. He lifted Tazz up and hit him with another thunderous Batista bomb, when he finally pinned Tazz for the three count.
Winner: Batista via pinfall.
The camera came back from commercial zoomed in on the announce table. JR and King were talking about Tazz putting up a fight for his rights, but Batista was just too strong. Michael Cole finally spoke up and said that it’s over, he’s done with this crap. He then got up from the announce desk and walked backstage. The camera zoomed in on the faces of JR and King, who both seemed dumbfounded. The camera then zoomed to Eric Bischoff’s office. He was standing there with the wheel, when the Dudley Boyz walked in. They spun the wheel, and to their joy, got “battle royal”. All the teams made their way down to the ring.
Fifth Match: Dudley Boyz (World Tag Team Champions) vs. World’s Greatest Tag Team (WWE Tag Team Champions) vs. The APA vs. Edge and Chris Jericho vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. Val Venis and Tommy Dreamer vs. The Basham Brothers
The match started off with all the men running toward APA, obliviously the biggest team in the match with Bradshaw. APA however was able to fight back and quickly eliminated Doug Basham with Bradshaw hitting a big boot to him, knocking him over the top rope and eliminating The Basham Brothers. The battle raged on, with APA fighting with Edge and Chris Jericho while The Hardy Boyz were taking it to their old nemesis’ the Dudley Boyz. Val Venis and Tommy Dreamer were supprisingly putting up a big fight against the younger and more athletic World’s Greatest Tag Team. The next elimination came out of nowhere and honestly shocked the world, when Tommy Dreamer finally was able to dump Shelton Benjamin over the top rope! Now with the World’s Greatest Tag Team out of the picture, The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz broke up the battle they had to go find new targets. The Dudley Boyz found one when they almost eliminated Tommy Dreamer from the ring, but Val Venis was able to pull Dreamer back in. The next elimination came when Chris Jericho was on his way out from the APA, and Christian ran down the ring and tugged Jericho down the rest of the ring. The two battled on the outside of the ring, until out of nowhere Jericho turned around and got a SPEAR from Edge! Edge and Christian then hugged eachother and walked up the ramp together. JR commented that it looks as though E&C is back together. Back in the ring, Farooq looked like he was on his way out from The Dudley Boyz, but Bradshaw was able to break up the attempt. The next elimination came as another surprise, when D-Von Dudley was thrown over the top rope by Tommy Dreamer and Val Venis. King commented on the fact that tonight, new tag team champions will be crowned, and it will either be The Hardy Boyz, Val Venis and Tommy Dreamer, or APA. The three teams, exhausted, each stood on a side of the ring. The Hardy Boyz went to the middle of the ring and stood back to back, each one facing an opposing team. The two brothers then ran at the other teams and started to land rights and lefts down onto them. Matt Hardy had Tommy Dreamer in the corner and got down onto his hands and knees and Jeff came flying across the ring and jumped on Matt’s back, landing a splash onto Tommy Dreamer. Bradshaw then came into the picture and hit a Clothesline from Hell onto Matt. Farooq came in and hit a Dominator on Jeff Hardy. The APA then lifted both the Hardy Boyz up and threw them out of the ring. The contest was now between the APA and Tommy Dreamer and Val Venis. The two duos finally all got up to their feet and started at each other. The two teams then tied up in the middle of the ring, Farooq and Tommy Dreamer and Bradshaw and Val Venis. Neither team really got an advantage, and it stayed that way for a few more moments. The ending of the match came when Bradshaw had Dreamer against the ropes, and went to clothesline him and connected, but Dreamer held on and both men tumbled over the top rope! Earl Hebner grabbed Tommy Dreamers arm while Mike Chioda grabbed the arm of Bradshaw. Lillian Garcia announced the winner of the match to be neither team
Winner: Neither team, both Tommy Dreamer and Bradshaw touched the ground at the same time.
The camera goes backstage to where Todd Grisham is standing by with Stone Cold Steve Austin. Grisham asked Stone Cold how it felt to be back as a wrestler in the WWE, and which Stone Cold answered that it felt great, and he can’t wait to get into the ring tonight and win the WWE Championship. Grisham asks him if he even knows what kind of match it will be. Stone Cold answers that he doesn’t care what kind of match it is, he knows that Stone Cold will win the match, and that’s the bottom line, ‘cause Stone Cold said so! Triple H then came into the picture, applauding Stone Cold. He told Stone Cold that he can go live in his little fantasy world, but after tonight, Triple H will once again become the WWE Champion. He says that it doesn’t matter what kind of match it is, he will personally take every single competitor out of the match if he needs to. Benoit and Eddie walk up. Benoit says that it doesn’t matter what Trips thinks, cuz if he remembers correctly, he made Triple H tap out to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H says that it doesn’t matter, because tonight, he is going to win the match, and that’s all that he has to say. He walks away with all the other men staring at eachother.
The camera then panned to Bischoffs office where Ric Flair was standing by. He spun the wheel and it landed on battle royal. Bischoff announced that Flair will compete in a battle royal with 5 other men, and the winner will get a shot at the United States Championship next week.
Sixth Match: Ric Flair vs. Booker T vs. Christian vs. Billy Kidman vs. Hardcore Holly vs. Rhyno (Battle Royal Number One Contender for United States Title)
The match started off with Ric Flair and Billy Kidman battling, Rhyno and Booker T, and Hardcore Holly and Christian. The first big part of the match came when Billy Kidman was battling Flair still, but Flair dropped to his knees and low blowed Kidman. He then pushed Kidman towards the ropes and threw him over, getting the first elimination of the match. The next big moment came when Rhyno and Hardcore Holly had Booker T up on the ropes. Booker T fought back and was able to reverse it and dump Rhyno over the ropes. He and Hardcore Holly then started going at it as Christian and Ric Flair were battling. Booker T hit Hardcore Holly with a spin-kick to the face and then got a chop block from behind by the Dirtiest Player in the Game, Ric Flair. Booker T then got lifted up by Christian and Christian tossed him over the top rope. Ric Flair and Christian then started to team up on Hardcore Holly. The two men finally were able to eliminate Hardcore Holly by working together. The match was now down to Ric Flair and Christian. Christian had Flair up on the ropes ready to eliminate him, but suddenly Jericho ran down the ramp. Christian dropped Flair and stared at Jericho, which proved to be a bad idea when Flair grabbed Christian and dumped him over the top rope!
Winner: Ric Flair
The camera came back from commercial to the announce table. JR said that the final of the match of the evening would be coming up next, and it will be the Undisputed Championship match. He said that Chris Benoit will defend his World Heavyweight Championship while Eddie Guerrero will defend his WWE Championship in a match with Triple H, Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels and Bill Goldberg. JR said that this match will make the career of the man that wins it, and the man that wins it will be the Undisputed Champion.
Chris Benoit walked down the stage and spun the wheel, and the wheel landed on Elimination match. JR and King commented how hard of a match it would be to have 10 men in one ring, all trying to eliminate each other. The other nine men all walked out to the ring.
Match seven: Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock vs. Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle (Elimination Match)
The match started off being a brawl fest. Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg went after each other, Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Triple H, The Undertaker and Stone Cold and The Rock and Shawn Michaels. The first elimination of the contest came when Bill Goldberg hit Brock Lesnar with a Jackhammer, then lifted him up for Shawn Michaels who nailed him with a Sweet Chin Music and the two both pinned Brock Lesnar. The next elimination came when Bill Goldberg had Eddie Guerrero up for a Jackhammer, but Chris Benoit came up and kicked Goldberg in the gut and hit him with three suplexes, then locked in the Crippler Cross Face making Goldberg tap out. As soon as this happened, Triple H jumped onto Benoit and landed lefts and rights down onto Benoits face. The next elimination happened when Stone Cold Steve Austin was hit with a Rock Bottom by The Rock and got eliminated. The Rock was on a spree, as he eliminated The Undertaker next with a Rock Bottom then a peoples elbow. The Rock again was able to eliminate another man when he eliminated Shawn Michaels with a Rock Bottom followed by a Pedigree from Triple H to pin him. The match was now down to 5, The Rock, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. The next elimination came when The Rock was in an Ankle Lock from Kurt Angle, and he finally had to tap out to him. As soon as that happened, Kurt Angle turned around and got a kick to the gut from Triple H, and got smashed down to the mat with The Pedigree. Triple H pinned Kurt Angle, which probabally wasn’t too smart of an idea since the two men left in the match beside him are best friends. The two friends tried to team up on Triple H, but Triple H was able to fight them off. A little later on, Chris Benoit yet again had Triple H in the Crippler Cross face. Triple H was about to tap, but was finally able to get out of the ring and he was able to throw Benoit into the steel ring steps. Triple H got back into the ring and he and Eddie Guerrero battled it out and Triple H got knocked down. Eddie climbed the turnbuckles and went to hit the Frogsplash on Trips, but Triple H put his knees up and Eddie jumped right onto them! Triple H was able to get up and hit the Pedigree on Eddie Guerrero to eliminate him! Triple H got up, exhausted, and turned around and Chris Benoit was making his way into the ring. The two men battled it out in the ring, each man getting an advantage at one point in time over another. The match finally ended when Chris Benoit jumped off the top rope onto Trips with a flying head butt, busting himself open. Benoit didn’t seem to care, as he again locked in the Crippler Cross Face on Triple H. Triple H didn’t tap out, but he ended up passing out.
Winner: Chris Benoit (New Undisputed Champion)
JR and King yelled into the mics that Benoit was able to win the United States Championship! The show ended with Benoit standing in the ring, hoisting the championship up over his head.
