I'm not sure if it's just me, but the old thread has become an absolute pain in the ass to open due to it trying to take me ten or so pages ahead of the actual last page. So to make it easier, here's a new thread.
~ No spamming
~ No arguing
~ Under any circumstances, NO "WELL EXCUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS!"
~ You can discuss other BTBs here, it's fine. Don't shill your BTB needlessly, however
~ If you have a question regarding "What Should You Do," just go with your gut instinct
~ Use references like google or onlineworldofwrestling for answers to questions you could easily find yourself
If you're worried that people won't give you as much attention or enjoy it as much if you really do write recapped matches, don't be. The idea is that you enjoy it, THEN start to worry about what people think, and improve from what they didn't like in the show or whatever. People will not mind, honestly, if you recap the matches, as long as the booking (and the promos, etc) are of a good standard. Quality is what matters.
I nominated you as Most Improved. I don't know if I was the only one who did, but over the course of your thread with OML (which I'm glad you're returning to) I saw you really improve, and it became a really good standard. If your matches are short, who cares. Just stick to good quality booking, that's the main thing. Move on to bigger matches when you're ready, or when you've had more practice. No-one will judge you or think of you as a worse booker.
Melvisboy - one upping TKOW's non-abusive advice. Awww yeah. <3
I'm not surprised people moan about about match writing. Nowadays fans moan about watching matches on a wrestling show. You'd never guess stories are told through matches.
I think some people just don’t have the time. If it’s pay-per-view, fair enough, I’ll watch it, but I’m sure I’m not the only who skips through matches on Raw or SmackDown because they don’t have the time (or the patience, maybe) to sit through the dull stuff. I confess that’s what I did with Raw last night, even missed out Sheamus/Morrison IV, even though I hear it was pretty good. It’s a shame, but I didn’t have all that much choice. Though, I won’t complain about having to watch a match if I do have the time, seeing as they do indeed tell the story that (most of the time) the feud has been leading up to.
Match writing isn’t hard. It just takes a bit of commitment to stick through it, imo, especially if you can’t really be bothered because you don’t like the guys in the match or something similar. Once you get going with a match, it can be great fun. Plus the sense of satisfaction you get from writing a really good, long match that you know you'd enjoy watching on TV or if you know it would keep someone watching. If someone doesn’t have all the time in the world, there’s no point writing out all the boring stuff in a match from a weekly show though, they should just recap it.

I'm proud of the fact I was once touted as one of the best match writers, because that's the important thing imo. Promo's are meant to supplement it all.
On that note, look out for a PWG/DG:USA/CHIKARA spinoff.
I know its a very noobish question, but i'd just like to gather people's opinions.
How do you transition between segments?
I mean, without a commercial break in between the two segments, and its not one that the commentators can introduce such as an interview segment with Josh Matthews :|
I mean as in, the cameras catch up with "X" in the parking lot.

Wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for him to start again, because his character has evolved so much since then. If he ever started again though I'd say as a heel, but sporadically. Also, the whole PG thing might limit him in what he says.
Who would work well with Joey Styles as a co-commentator in 2002?
No those are all under contract with the WWF/E at this point. Would Mike Tenay and Joey Styles work? I don't think so because they both like to call the matches. Maybe a wrestler but who.... In 2002 by the way.
If it's WWE/WWF in 2002, Foley would be a great choice in my opinion. He wasn't under any contract but if I am not mistaken still had good terms with the WWE.
It's TNA 2002 I guess Don West could do the trick, even though was shit. Thought about Raven, but that would take the mystique away from his gimmick I think.
Just a random question here; if the last discussion thread ended cause it stuffed up and casue it had too many posts it kept skipping some ten pages. Why doesn't Wofly's thread have the same problem, forcing him to make a new one seeing as he has three times as much as the past discussion thread did.
Regardless of the amount of Indy fans, do a BTB that you wanna do.
There could be people here that are Indy fans but wouldn't read an Indy BTB. There could be people here that aren't Indy fans but would read an Indy BTB.
That seemed hostile? Please, that's probably one of the nicest responses you'll get from some of the guys here who are constantly being asked what kind of BTB should be writen.
I can't say that exactly made sense... are you saying you constantly ask what kind of BTB to write or I do?
The whole <sigh> then mini rant just made it seem abit like you were pissed.
That wasn't a rant :lmao but yeah, the post didn't seem to make sense so I editted it. Just write whatever you wanna write, dude. Don't worry about what other people would like. If you wanna know if there are people here who watch Indy wrestling, then that's another thing. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
I doubt it. Like I said elsewhere, I can only think of one worthy candidate. There's not an active person here who hasn't already received the accolade that I would consider worthy of receiving it.
It's ultimately up to Szumi and co, but after the interview with him, I think he tends to agree.
