Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

DC's recaps in his initial WWE Chronicles thread were pretty great.

Jeff Hardy and Sean O'Haire.

I think Sean O'Haire and Mark Jindrak would be good for a religious tag team. They were a team before, and they both have some great potential.

Chris Hero would be a great leader for a group like that. He looks like a guy who could pull that off much like CM Punk did with the SES. I did (or at least planned out) a faction in my old WAPW thread in which Chris Hero led a group comprised of Matt Bentley, Gangrel and Paul London. Kevin Thorn/Mordecai would fit the bill too.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Do all the bookers write their matches out? It just seems a little bit painstaking. I can understand bullet pointing the major spots/finishes or moments that relate to an angle, or even fairly detailed outlines of PPV matches but writing out TV matches step-by-step seem fairly banal.

And as for promos, even though I can see how they would be enjoyable to write & having them bullet pointed wouldn't lend itself well to furthering storylines in the BTB format, does anyone ever think that it's strange writing out promos word-for-word for guys who would NEVER do a word-for-word promo?

I do like the idea of this section though & I'm impressed by the amount of effort members seem to put into not only writing their own show, but reviewing the work of others. It's pretty cool.

Jericho would take a bullet for me.

Kurt Angle; Bryan Danielson; Nigel McGuinness; Samoa Joe
Prince Devitt; Teddy Hart; Paul London; Low Ki; PAC

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

The smart ones write matches in full at the Big Four PPV's (Rumble, Mania, Summerslam, Survivor Series) because writing full matches all the time would be incredibly draining (trust me, I did 3 years worth of full length PPV's and it burned me out).

As for promo's, you usually keep those who aren't good promo cutters off the mic as much as possible and further their feuds by other actions instead of words (brawls, assaults, shadow games, distractions etc). I have some guys I struggle with, and others I can't wait to write with. Everybodies different tho.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Okay, since I am in college and don't have way too much time on my hands, would you guys be okay if I posted shows, but they were VERY short. Promos wouldn't be written out at all, just saying what happened in them, same as commentary. And the matches would also be in recap form. I did my first Raw so far, and its about 2k words and a little over 3 pages in Microsoft Word.

Would you guys be okay with that? And for the PPVs beside the big four, I'd write recapped matches but the promos would be written out in full.

I am only going to be doing this till summer, when I have more time to work on it.

Thanks CHAMPviaDQ for sig and avy

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

It's not really whether we're okay with it, it's if you're okay with it. I'm at university myself, and I became addicted to recaps years ago, and I don't think they'll be stopping anytime soon. Just so long in your recaps you get all your main points/ideas/storylines across, I really don't see the problem.

Just don't force yourself to do them, especially when you have the tight schedule I'm presuming you have. Do what your workload allows (if anything)

Do whatever you want, as long as it's, you know, a BTB.
