I'm not sure if it's just me, but the old thread has become an absolute pain in the ass to open due to it trying to take me ten or so pages ahead of the actual last page. So to make it easier, here's a new thread.

Old thread for those of you who wish to refer back: http://www.wrestlingforum.com/booker/510932-official-btb-discussion-thread.html

~ No spamming
~ No arguing
~ Under any circumstances, NO "WELL EXCUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS!"
~ You can discuss other BTBs here, it's fine. Don't shill your BTB needlessly, however
~ If you have a question regarding "What Should You Do," just go with your gut instinct
~ Use references like google or onlineworldofwrestling for answers to questions you could easily find yourself

Post away.

Hey KidRed its fine to not post much details, people here post the whole show in the fully detailed manner with each commentary
as much as i laud their efforts, i know that i won't be able to do that so i follow a summarised form of presentation
But i saw your BTB and u just had the matches and not even a single line of build up, just have a few words atleast that will do good

KidRed, I love your format personally, though it could do with a little more, and that's coming from a guy who has always been trying to defend things like that. I think you're capable of a little more and it'd not slow you down too much given how fast you post.

The problem I have is, what is the point in getting invested in a project of yours when it lasts as long as a cup of coffee?

:lmao at people who care about star ratings.

Just a random question, what do people think of people who wait for their threads to have a specific number of posts before posting their show. I don't mean "Oh, I don't want to double post, so I'll wait for one or two reviews/feedback/predictions until I'll post my show." I mean, "Oh, I'm one more post until I get to the next page of my thread. Let me ask someone to make a quick post with predictions (which, btw, in no way shape or form help the booker in any way to improve) so I can post my show which'll have it be the first post on the thread."

Not mentioning who may have said it, just something that really annoyed me. I feel people are too concerned about having their BTB be THE BTB of the section. Wolf Beast and Legend are going strong, but are the credible bookers, and bookers who have established themselves and are respected by most of the section, go around to look at the new threads and try to give specific feedback to help newer bookers become really good and eventually become established, which doesn't happen over night? People say that you shouldn't book for others, but the one thing most people want is other people's opinions on their work. If you work hard on something and dedicate time to write something, wouldn't you want to hear people say if it's good or bad and why?

While people do want their BTB to be "the" btb of the section, why can't they just focus on their work instead of having people comment on it and having a lot of posts and thread views? A lot of the latest BTB's are terrible and are likely to not last, because it's evident who puts a lot of their time and effort into their BTB/Shows and who doesn't.

I don't know, I've been in and out of the section, never had the motivation to write a BTB because my poor attitude is "I'll work really fucking hard on 3/4 shows, then try to write a good pay per view, and because I'm only getting reviews/feedback from n00bs and then getting feedback from bookers I respect like Mevlis and RatedRKO31 (I'm just naming two because I don't remember who usually reads/feedbacks my shows) and that's it." I'm not full of myself nor do I think I deserve more attention than I get when I used to book because it takes time and I'm not patient which is my own problem.

I don't know what my point is in this post, but hopefully it'll spark some sort of discussion.

:lmao at people keep rating threads one star.

the discussion thread was given one star of all threads.

I thought it stopped, there was a phaze where everyone got.. except Shock's TNA thread if I remember right :side:
:lmao

But yeah, rating threads one star is just stupid. Doesn't look good at all.

Seeing as the Summer time is just around the corner and that is usually the boom period for the section, where dozens of new members sign up and start threads and only maybe one becomes something worth while and continues after the Summer and occasionally some big names in the BTB section return and the casuals post some pretty big PPV's and have time to right.

What sort of stuff you are you guys looking forward to in this Summer? Any PPV"s that are only a month or so away that you can't wait for? A return that you are hoping for? or something else.

I still think the attitude of wanting/needing feedback is something that to many people have. With my thread, which I've kind of managed to keep afloat for a change, I'm probably getting one persons thoughts, maybe two per show. Not a lot by any means, but with the section as it is at the moment, that's about all you're going to get.

Even so, I work hard and write BTB because I enjoy it. I'm enthusiastic to see just how I can develop my characters and what not. Feedback is not that big of an issue, maybe it's just me, but I get satisfaction just in writing the shows, because it's a fun hobby.

I do agree that you should write because you enjoy it and not because you want to be accepted by the section and such BUT I have to say that I do understand some people's frustrations to continue, and posting shows after yourself repeatedly does get to you at some point.

Is BTB not supposed to be a hobby? Are ho0bbies not supposed to be done for fun? If you need some other guys opinion/approval regarding your hobby, is it really that much of a hobby to begin with? Seems like people take this thing far to seriously.

#1,514 ·
Uh, no, the fact that hearing people's opinions and criticicm to get better doesn't mean that people take this shit too seriously. We compare our work to other people's work, and if you've read Wolf Beast's show that he just posted, you can easily tell that he worked really hard on it. Then you look at someone who just opened up their thread and posted two shows in under two hours, you can tell people won't really read the latter. Yes, this is all to have fun and make this out to be a hobby, but saying that people are being too serious because they feel important when people take the time out of their lives to read something you took time out of your own life to write isn't fair at all.

#1,515 ·
I think everyone to some degree wants feedback some more then others but you can't say that you don't. And you can still have it as a hobby and enjoy feedback to improve for next time.

If not then why are we all posting shows on a board and showing them to one another and comparing them? Might as well just write it on word doc to yourself and keep it to yourself, you still get the enjoyment out of witting it by your logic.

I'm really having a hard time to adjust in my BTB.

Well, today is my summer break, and June is when the school in our country will start again. And, I'm having a hard-time to have a decent and a good BTB. No one gives me criticisms, just reviews of the show and good feedbacks.

I think, there are things in my BTB, that I must improve, but I can't point out, what is that.

I want to be a decent Be the Booker. :). And I hope I can get feedbacks from you, guys. :)

#1,517 ·
I suggest instead of waiting for feedback which may take a while, go on a search for your own answers on how to improve your witting. Look up into other threads around the place that are established and sit down and read their shows, I am sure you can pick up some pointers from them.

#1,518 ·
Well, yeah. I'm reading it, and I'm making my ideas brighter and bigger. Since, this is my first time having a BTB. I might have some mistakes on the first, but I'm sure the second time I'll make my BTB, it would be better.

Well, Harlem, you're BTB is good BTW, and lemme ask, why is it in a summarize mode?

Because I don't have as much time as I used to. I used to write shows weekly in full form but I got burnt out come the PPV and never got in the mood to do it cause I was tired out from the weekly show witting and keeping up to full show standards.

if you can summarize while keeping things in reasonable detail to further your storylines and feuds then go for it.

Wow. Nice one bro, but I saw on your BTB, it is more about the rivalry heading for the Pay-Per-View, and some juicy details of the Episode. Summarizing the important details in the show on 3-5 paragraphs.

That's cool.

I was waiting for Wolfy's KOTR, but it came early (not a complaint obviously). His Summerslam should be awesome; Legend's SS (no one has mentioned this, for shame) as well. Also, enough with pretending that people don't like feedback. Humans like recognition of their accomplishments; that is just how it is. If you get some feedback, even bad feedback or feedback that says you suck, you are still getting recognized for devoting your time and energy to a thread.
