I'm not sure if it's just me, but the old thread has become an absolute pain in the ass to open due to it trying to take me ten or so pages ahead of the actual last page. So to make it easier, here's a new thread.
~ No spamming
~ No arguing
~ Under any circumstances, NO "WELL EXCUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS!"
~ You can discuss other BTBs here, it's fine. Don't shill your BTB needlessly, however
~ If you have a question regarding "What Should You Do," just go with your gut instinct
~ Use references like google or onlineworldofwrestling for answers to questions you could easily find yourself
I'm all for a tournament because, even after the failures (last year's one wasn't much of a failure tbh) of previous years, it still leads to an upsurge in activity for the section and that can only be a good thing. One of the major criticisms of tournaments used to be that it took away activity from people's threads but that seems to have been negated due to the lack of activity in the first place.
Changing the subject slightly, anyone want to remind me how Bradshaw went from being the *******, bar, beating up everything character he had to the rich JBL gimmick in mid 2004? I can't seem to find the promo on youtube and can't remember.
Edit my bad, I found it in the end wasn't looking in the right place.

SD after wm 20, Heyman was in a pissed off mood with the whole SD roster, and said to the APA that if they lose to Too Cool, Faarooq is fired. Obviously they lost and then Faarooq encouraged Bradshaw to stay in the business for himself and not to worry about him and IIRC the gimmick just came from there.

Hey BtBers. Some of you may know me, most of you probably do not. I have had many BtBs in this section throughout the past decade and overall they all either eventually fell or never got off the ground. I would like to apologize to all my friends here who have supported me, but I have found that I no longer have the drive and interest to make a successful BtB so I have decided to walk away from it for good. Thanks for all the fun years and thanks to the new generation for keeping this section alive. =)
@ Roll'd - I'm pretty sure it's legit. He pops up on Fox News every now and then to give some kind of business/political advice, too. I'm sure it's just exaggerated in wrestling, but pretty close to him in real life, it seems.
@ Red - Always a bit saddening to see folks walk away
Thanks for the information, 619. . I thought it was only an in-ring gimmick. But, I'm sure that Del Rio's gimmick is kayfabe though. I'm not convinced with that one. Well, I'm just askin. I might use it on my next BTB.
It's fine ChainGangRed. I might not know you personally, but I'm sure you have some things you need to prioritize more than to make a BTB. A BTB is a like an option, but, even though it's an option, but if you try hard to make even one show. That's something. You spend 3-5 hours just to make a RAW or SmackDown which Is in full card mode. That's insane though and to talk about making a 3-hour payperview for 12 hours is damn long. You can do other things than that, but you still tried to make one.
John Layfield is more JBL than Bradshaw, that's for sure. He has a stint on Fox News, giving advice about financial stuff. He has his own business, and apparently did make good money off of the stock market. I've heard some wrestlers talk about how he would always talk about finance and gave tips to other wrestlers. Goes to show you're better off portraying a character that hits close to home than something completely different from what you truly are. Although that doesn't hold true to everyone ofcourse. Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, to an extent The Rock, all had elements of themselves in their characters. Especially HBK circa 97.
Apparently the deadman Undertaker also had to an extent some elements to themselves in the character :side:
though but seriously, when Taker wanted to go ABA it was apparently his idea because he was a huge bike fan and would ride around whenever he had time and was off tv kayfabe wise. (remember reading somewhere)
Yeah, like I said, there are exceptions obviously. The American Bad Ass gimmick did seem more like him and it showed. Still prefer that gimmick over "I take 10 minutes just to get to the ring" deadman gimmick.
Yeah. The Deadman Gimmick is kinda boring, especially if he will have a really long entrance at WrestleMania. It's like you're wasting the 10-20 minutes of a PPV just for that. Unlike the Badass gimmick, Undertaker's showing his other side. The ruthless and agressive superstar who loves to have a motorcycle ride! But of course, the Deadman persona is really a legendary gimmick. Think about it, when the lights turn off, we are puzzled where will the Undertaker enter. It is like Undertaker Deadman persona is like a character of a horror story.
Harlem, oh. That's why. He asked to be an ABA to the WWF creative back then? That's cool.
Pretty dissapointed that there is no HoF this year but I guess that can only mean that next year's class will get more attention and hopefully a better turn out.
@Harlem. Yeah. I am expecting that it will be good, but, ofcourse, some guys are busy in their personal lives and didn't have time to nominate some deserving guys to the hall of fame.
Well, there is a next year. And I'm sure the list will get bigger.
The best process in my eyes is that the current HoF members talk between them and they can chose between the ones that we nominated who deserves to be amongst them and who doesn't. It's the best and fairest in my opinion that fellow HoF members get to pick the class.
The only problem is 90% of the HoF members that were inducted in past years are out of the section or are only active in rare occasions and not consistent so it isn't easy to get a hold of them and get their opinion. (I could be wrong) but the only two that are still relatively active but have phases when they come and go are Legend and Wolfy, but there should be another two or something like that to get a decisive committee on who gets in and not.
Edit I got an idea. If there is a lack of HoFamers why not make it that the deciders are the HoFamers that are still around the joint + mods?
Yeah, Harlem. I think the only HOFs who are still quite active somehow is Reney, Legend and Wolfy, WCW Rules. And i think the others are fixing their only lives.
That is a good idea, since they know how to judge BTBs and review things, why not assign them as one of the board members on choosing the next set of HOFs in the BTB.
Next year's class (if it happens) will likely be the two guys who I imagine would have gone in this year anyway. I can only see one other person making the jump up to possibly join them within a year (with that said, the same person is a popular choice with most people to go in this year).
To assure a class next year, seeing as past HoFamers are getting less and less active I think Mods should also be added to the judging \ deciding committee.
(expecting some usual reply that he is the jobber mod 8*D) but in all seriousness he seems like he has been around the place for a few years and knows what he is talking about.
Yeah, the spring awards? I hope it will be having a nice turnout, especially the people here are getting thick because of the summer season. Well, expect more awesome BTB threads (or even not) at the summer time. Well, It will be up tom. right? The nominations? Or the nominations will cut on that day?
No, wait. What does it mean, exactly? Enlighten me.
