I'm not sure if it's just me, but the old thread has become an absolute pain in the ass to open due to it trying to take me ten or so pages ahead of the actual last page. So to make it easier, here's a new thread.
~ No spamming
~ No arguing
~ Under any circumstances, NO "WELL EXCUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS!"
~ You can discuss other BTBs here, it's fine. Don't shill your BTB needlessly, however
~ If you have a question regarding "What Should You Do," just go with your gut instinct
~ Use references like google or onlineworldofwrestling for answers to questions you could easily find yourself
#1 reason why I won't go back to 'Le Chronicles is because everyone and thier mother is doing Haas/Benjamin and though I started planning/writing it before it became cool, it just would be redundent and not as good as it could have been, regardless of how I tweaked it.
I don't see why everyone has to actually split tag teams up, it's really annoying - in real life as well. Can't they just go their own ways? Especially if they're as successfull as The Dudley Boyz or WGTT, you could just make out that they've got fuck all left to achieve in the tag division? :/
How you push a guy or work a feud your own way is really more important than anything else, regardless of whether others have pushed the same guy or feuded the same two people. Haas and Benjamin may be a popular feud, but the way it's been built up in Legend's thread is still one of the best things going.
I haven't read Legends thread so I can't disagree there, but if two wrestlers facing off against each other has been done to death, does it not come to a point where the readers are sick of seeing a program between the same two people, no matter how you do it? For example Christian becomes World Champ in Thread1, Thread2 has had Christian as champ before and brings in back to the main event to win the title, Thread3 has Christian win the royal rumble and challenge for the world title. Thread4 Christian is the WWE champion.
If I was to start a thread, in order to make my product different, I feel it would be best if I decided against having Christian as the champ, no matter how well I believe I can pull it off, won't the effects of it already been done before, lessen the novelty or impact of the idea?
It may lessen the novelty of something, but if your that's your greatest quality anyway, then your writing is subpar. Great writing shines through regardless. You think Christian in BTB and you think Wolf Beast. Why? Because he's done a much better job than anyone when it comes to pushing the guy.
Kenny Dykstra/Ken Doane is pushed kinda hard in a few threads, or are they just DC's threads? He seems to love the guy. It's funny, considering I was gonna push him in my partnership with TKOW, even giving him a new gimmick which needs some exposure (I've trademarked it). Christian does seem to be pushed quite a bit in many threads, but I see no harm in that.
He seems to be a BTB Golden Buy. He, Christian, CM Punk, and Charlie Haas/Shelton Benjamin should form a stable in a BTB. That would get people reading. 8*D
I am playing devils advocate a bit, just to get some discussion going. I do agree with Hulk when he says good writing shines through anyway.
On the same kind of theme, is there any threads out there which have buried certain wrestlers, due to the dislike of them. I am thinking along the lines of maybe Cena, Khali etc...
Lots of people just release Khali outright. Would like to see more people give monsters pushes, but Khali is not the guy imo because he so awful in the ring. The Hardys seem to get depushed a lot.
EDIT: Yeah pretty sure you're the only one... shall we say "creative" enough to push O'Haire.
I've never released Khali in any of my WWE threads (maybe I did, I don't remember well). I've also never released Hornswoggle. I'd like to find a use for everybody, even the guys that people seem to loathe.
Hehe, "creative," eh? Not sure what you mean by that.
Thanks for absolutely nothing yajobber. A correlary to the overpushing thing is the overturning thing. It seems that everyone turns Cena, HBK and HHH (unless they feud against each other) heel. Would be nice to see someone book Cena as a superman and make it not boring.
Angle/Cena is really overdone imo (doesn't help that lots of BTBs are set in 05/06 when both of those guys were main eventers and therefore are somewhat bound to cross paths). There have been some good iterations of it such as Legend's and BkB's and of course Wolf Beast's (did Mac do an Angle/Cena feud? Hard to remember his thread), but it is still overdone.
This was the roster at the end of 2002. I couldn't imagine it'd be that much different in November of that year. Can't be bothered to research that part though. That's kinda your job.
I always wondered is their a rule against ROH superstars using their ROH names in the WWE (ie Tyler Black, Roderick Strong, Bryan Danielson. I know its his real name just saying etc.)?
ROH don't have a desire, unless it's exceptional circumstances, to trademark names. It's not in the financial interests of the company at any point, especially when profit and staying in a healthy medium has never been more important in the wrestling industry.
