Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
No, it hasn't changed my perspective on heel v heel feuds at all, because my perspective all along was always just "do it" if it makes sense. Bad guys are not a hive mind - they do not work together just because they're 'bad'. Each villain has a motive for doing what he/she does, so why shouldn't villains with different motives and means to achieve different ends fight against one another? Just like in face v face matches, where one face is the bigger good, in a heel v heel match one heel is always the lesser of two evils. The Big Monster against The Chessmaster can be an interesting battle, because it's usually the Chessmaster who is the bigger evil, as the monster simply is while the Chessmaster is the one pulling all the strings.
Such dynamics can make for interesting feuds, matches, and situations the average promoter or booker just doesn't take advantage of. One such storyline was Ric Flair Vs. Shawn Michaels, dipping into Batista Vs. Shawn Michaels and finally into Chris Jericho Vs. Shawn Michaels. Such an incredible dynamic there. It's not exactly heel v heel, but heel v heel can be close to it.
