Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

To about what age do you guys consider a wrestler "young"? More precisely, to what age, you reckon, can a guy or gall be viewed as "the future" of a certain organisation?

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Take the age of Hunter, Rock, Taker, Angle and so on. Then i would subtract it by about 15. Just my opinion

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

I'd say 35 is the cutoff age for a guy to be considered the future of the company. If a guy is a viable main eventer by the age of 35, he can carry it for at least five more years. A woman's shelf life is unfortunately shorter than a man's in the wrestling business, so I'd say 35 is the magical number in which they usually begin winding down. If she hits her stride at 30, that's fine. There are always exceptions, though. As far as young goes, I'd say "young" for a guy and a gal is 20 - 22. That's really young. Most professional wrestlers hit their stride around 28 - 33.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Hey first time checking out the BTB section, wondering if there are any TNA threads worth checking out? Thinking of doing a 2006, 2010 or 2012 thread. Thanks!

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Okay, I've stumbled across a problem that I've discussed with a couple of people, but it seems that they're just as clueless as I am with regards to finding a way around it. I'm still with my ROH project, it's just going slowly but I'm enjoying the writing and I'm confident that I'm going to stick with it (and you can still post predictions for Honor Nation, link is in my sig... ). For those of you who aren't familiar with my roster, one of the most beloved babyfaces I have is a crazed masked man called Delirious, and I'm really struggling to write his promos, and his promos are important as they are one of his selling points and one of the reasons he is adored so much by the fans... It's just that his promos are a little... Unique? Off center? Different? I don't know, take a look for yourself and call it what you want.

It's not the content that I'm struggling with - And yes, it's not just him screaming, there is actual content with actual words that are somewhat relevant to his character and direction - It's more the delivery I'm struggling with, and how I convey and create the promos through writing. I don't just want to have to recap them whilst I write everyone elses' out in full, especially because I'm very happy and looking forward to the direction I'll be taking him in. So how would you write him?

Any ideas are better than none, which is currently what I have.

There's always the South Park approach..

RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE...

... silence ...

RABBLE!

RABBLE RABLLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE

and so on and so forth

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Is there any kind of rule, or unwritten rule, about using formats that other bookers use for shows? I was reading Szumi's WCW thread which I saw mentioned in the Newsletter and I really liked his format.

Depends how long they have been wrestling. WWE signed Doane at 16 worked him in too early. Realistically I feel a wrestler truly hits their prime 26-30 range, however it seems like WWE waits to push their guys 31/32.

THANKS TO CHAMPVIADQ/FOURTHWALL/ABROWN0718 FOR THE BANNERS
