Raw, Smackdown, Impact Wrestling etc, to me are in recap or somewhat an extended recap form. I see no point in writing them in full when it's just as easy to get your point across in recap. PPV's should always be in full, with extra effort for the 'Big 4'
Also, not to stray you away from your current project Stojy, unless you've already packed it in but, I'd like to see how you'd do with the Attitude Era.
Another helping tip for you (and anybody else who wants it) is to look up top moves on YouTube. This is a huge help. Basically any move sets you can think of are on YouTube. I've seen lists ranging from top ten moves to top 130 moves. The best "move list" guy IMO is named bdwj1986 who regularly post 50+ top moves for both Indy and main stream workers..
Just wanted to say I am new to the forum and have a question to ask.
I am thinking about starting a BTB from WrestleMania 29 and just wondered how you guys go about it?
I mean, do you plan ahead and have story lines and angles lead to them or do you do it on a week by week basis?
Was curious was all - hope I am not breaking any rules by asking this here. Thanks!
Well for me my BTB started about 6 months before WrestleMania 29, so first thing I did was come up with my desired card for that. That helped me work backwards to fill out what I needed to happen at the preceding PPVs to tell a compelling story and have some long term arcs.
My week by week shows, I have notes on what I want to happen to advance story lines but you will naturally come up with ideas as you write so there is always an element of adding things on the fly.
As for match length. Feedback I got early in my BTB was to keep match write ups on TV short but go into more detail for PPV. It depends if you feel you can construct a good match move-by-move, I feel the only way I can get my ideas across is to thoroughly describe the high spots and finish and leave the rest to the imagination of the reader.
