Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

I wait until my weekly shows are finished. Just in case something changes in my plans which would result in me needing to change a match or whatever. Not big on writing PPV's in advance either tbh.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

That is something that I've always had problems with. I think it is better waiting until the weekly shows are all done. I've tried where you do a match after every weekly show, but I feel that once the PPV has been started that the motivation for the weekly show seems to fade out.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

I just progress chronologically through the thread.. Working. In order. I don't like to do half a show than work on the next or a PPV... Which I've tried cause like TWG said, you loose motivation to write for what you were on before.

Thanks and thanks T-Bag.

I plan my ppv match cards in advance but my weekly tv show matches are on the fly. For the ppv write ups I wait till the weekly shows are finished. I have a ppv coming up but all I've done is write the template out for each match. The basic things like center, colour, size, Match 1, Match 2, KOTR first round match, who's facing who, winner, match time. That's basically it. I haven't done the match write up yet but I always like to prepare so that it makes it easier for me to do the writeup whenever it comes to the actual ppv.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

People write PPV's before they've finished TV's? Really?

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Do people utilize the advertisement thread? As in, do people really use it as a way to find out what threads to check out?

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

I check it out cause sometimes guys like WCW or King post in there and it gets my hopes up that they might return

But I see in the main section if someone I follow posts a show so not really. It's not like if they hadn't said something in the advertisement thread I wouldn't have known.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Quick question for everybody.

What do people make of interviews/news, on the companies website (e.g. posting an interview from wwe.com).

Recent examples come to mind from TWG in his 2011 thread, and of course 619IDH in AOW.

Do you read them? Skim through them? Or do you just plain ignore them? Personally, I think they really add to the thread, but I'm intrigued to find out what other people think of them.

First of all, I'd say that 619 makes a much better use of them than I do/did. The only reason I did them was to further the character development and show of new sides of some characters; whether I actually achieved that isn't for me to comment on.

But to answer your question(s), I enjoy reading 619's, because it is a way of connecting to the characters on a more intimate and personal level. For example, I found myself getting behind Kidman, Sydal and Kingston in the Trios Tournament because we'd seen the relationship blossom because of the exclusives.

As for the posting of the news, it serves as a way to see what people think of potential ideas, and to also completely throw them on the wrong scent so they get a reaction when they end up reading something opposite to what they thought they were going to read.
