Fuck there's nothing more annoying than going to write shit and seeing that Word didn't save where you were last up to and you lose shit.

Give your characters their own unique histories, backgrounds, etc. There are one of two ways you can go about starting a promotion with fictional characters - either all of 'em are unknown wrestlers or they're well known within your fictional world (which could also be OUR world). You could also have a bit of both.

You also have to describe your wrestlers too. Perhaps not down to the last detail, but you'd have to describe well enough so that the reader has a mental picture in their head of what your wrestlers look like. Even a few reference pics would work too.

I'd read one, just to answer your last question.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Question time...

How hard do you guys find it to do something different in BTB? Be it storylines, be it in ring action, be it two guys feuding, how difficult do you find it to mix things up and do something fresh?

Personally I find it quite challenging but at the same time it's got an enjoyable factor about it. There's only so much you can do and at times it can feel a little repetitive, Wrestler X attacks Wrestler Y for example and boom, there's a feud. At times, it can be that simple and that effective but there are times where you think 'Hmmm, what can I do that'll really spice this up?'.

I'm not sure about the feud itself, but I remember one guy whose name I cannot recall who was just terrible. I remember a piece of his 'feud' dialogue was like

I'm Triple H. I am no longer fighting with Umaga. I am now a rival with Jeff Hardy.

No idea why this question made me remember that, but it did *shrug*

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

Anyone else get that streak where they want to write but have writer's block to the fullest, or you just procrastinate certain parts? I've been working on one weekly show for like 3 weeks if not longer and I'm only moderately far into it. It's really kind of a bummer.

Try having writer's block for years. Yeah, that bad. I want to write, but a mixture of perfectionism and something else just hinder my progress. I always get my opening posts, though.
