Obviously firing them would be too unrealistic and somewhat over the top, but so would leaving them off television or jobbing them out left, right and centre.
So what is a man to do?

Give them an unscripted injury during their match that ends their career or just puts them out long enough so that when you book they won't be there for a great chunk of time (8-12 month injury), and then you can say they signed with another company or something.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
If it is just a case of not having anything for them for a while, just give them an injury. BUT, if it is the fact that you can't think of anything for them... say you have Shawn Michaels and you don't have any plans for him any more... just use him to put over someone and have that someone beat them in a 'Loser leaves WWE Match' or 'If Shawn Michaels loses, he must retire' ala CP and Ric Flair.

One thing I did do on the spur of the moment was turn CM Punk heel. I'd finished writing a traditional Survivor Series elimination match where Jeff Hardy & Punk were sole survivors after Hardy slapped Punk inoxiously for the tag and hit the swanton bomb to get the win. I just thought while writing Punk's reaction getting back in the ring, GTS the druggy prick. Probably the best thing I ever did was turning Punk.
Has anyone else made a spur of the moment decision that proved to be a big deal?

Most of my best stuff in my original tna btb was off the cuff I did a thing where Christian got Johnny devine's name wrong and called him tommy it was just a little running joke and became possibly the best thing on the show. Another thing was originally I was going to have Christian as a transitional 1 or 2 month champion and have him drop it to sting but I called an audible and left the title on Christian based off reactions to him and the Christian coalition stable and it turned into a hot 6 month reign that really turned my show around, and gave it a purpose throughout every show that effected almost every major angle and character.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
Question - It is a simple one. What are everyone's thoughts on a big title change on a normal TV episode?
Would it be good that it would come across as a shock or bad because its giving away a title change on free TV?

I don't think it happens enough to be honest, but I'm sure a lot of others will say that titles should only change hands on pay-per-views.
For me, as long as it fits a particular story, or if the timing is right, it's fine. The first example that comes to mind in BTB is Legend, when he booked The Big Show to beat Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship on Raw. It didn't need happen on a pay-per-view, but it felt no less important than it would've been had it not been on television.

Yeah, or if it is going to be in a surprise way such as Money in the Bank I think it'd be a little more accepted by anyone. Overall it's your choice and doesn't matter too much. Have fun with it!
