Good question that, it does give you a different perspective and maybe sometimes I can't remember but you do take some of it on board.
One thing I did do on the spur of the moment was turn CM Punk heel. I'd finished writing a traditional Survivor Series elimination match where Jeff Hardy & Punk were sole survivors after Hardy slapped Punk inoxiously for the tag and hit the swanton bomb to get the win. I just thought while writing Punk's reaction getting back in the ring, GTS the druggy prick. Probably the best thing I ever did was turning Punk.
Has anyone else made a spur of the moment decision that proved to be a big deal?

It wasn't initially a big deal, but when I came back from quite a long break in booking, I had intended on putting the U.S title on Batista immediately on the first Smackdown back, with Brent Albright merely being a stop-gap transitional champion.
But, at the last second, I changed the match with Albright winning via fluke, and again (I think) the week after, and to build toward a more meaningful title change at WrestleMania. Then, as Mania rolled around, I had another change of heart, and kept the belt on Albright again. Of course, that ended up leading to (IMO) a bigger title change and a more meaningful run for Albright & eventually, with the enjoyment I was getting booking him, it led me to making Albright King of the Ring.
If I had put the belt on Batista on that first Smackdown, I'm pretty sure Albright would be nothing more now than a perennial jobber on Smackdown.

*Refrains from predictable D'Lo Brown comment*
You should try this booking lark sometime.

Patience is a virtue, my friend.
Also, I never formed a tag team called the Acolyte FASHION Agency.

What can I say? The people loved the AFA back in the day. Ron Simmons & RICO - comedy gold. They were the odd couple Booker & Goldust could only dream of being.

If only I'd been able to dish out the feedback I can now back then - would've changed the course of your thread.

Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread
Question - What do you do when there's someone on your roster that you despise booking, whether it be through your personal preferences or just because you find it extremely difficult to do so, but said person is a staple of the roster. I'm talking the Triple Hs, the Shawn Michaels, The Undertakers and the John Cenas of the company (all of which in their prime, not part time). Obviously firing them would be too unrealistic and somewhat over the top, but so would leaving them off television or jobbing them out left, right and centre.
So what is a man to do?
