Default Re: The Official BTB Discussion Thread

I made a mistake in my first thread I tried to make something that would stand out, but i'll be honest with myself I don't follow the WWE much I'm more of a Tna guy and was wondering how people would feel about me moving on from my WWE thread and starting a Tna one that should be a hell of a lot easier for me as I know the company better.

I would start from Lockdown and bring all 12 PPV's back, would anyone read this?

On topic, I can't answer that question without sounding like some kind of sugarplum fairy, but for me, I just love it. I love writing and I love storytelling, so putting them in wrestling format is almost the pinnacle of fun for me. Sure, there's moments where I kick myself for saying 'holy shit, did these two really need to wrestle for twenty-five minutes', but maybe that's why I don't feel that is because I keep trying to have fun. And as with most things fun, you do it when you can. It usually takes a good two weeks or so to get a show done the way I want. And as others have said, don't force yourself into it. You really do have to be happy with what you're doing and you kinda do have to have a bit of patience if you want that payoff.

As for the whole 'feedbacking' ordeal, I'd write an essay on it if I could, but I'll save that for later.

I think this was pitched to be revived sometime last year, but there weren't enough threads to possibly make it meaningful. Seeing as how the section has had a really nice influx since the New Year, this may be a possibility at this point. I'd totally be behind and endorse it if it helps people out.
I am le undead. I decided that it would be bad for the section if I took out the second best in the competition early so I let him win knowing he would win the whole thing.

Nope. You just say goodbye, hope people post fast enough for it to fade away from page one and wait for 30 days :3

In the veins of what's been discussed in this thread for the past couple of days, you write for yourself. You write what you would enjoy more, not what people would read. If you want to write TNA, then write TNA. Let those 30 days pass (and plan a lot during said time) then come back with what you want to write.

Feedback is great, but even a little rep message just to kind of let a person know that you read their show would be pretty cool also, I've found that to be a great tool.

Why does that matter?

Do what you want to do.

Does anyone ever notice that BeTheBooker can also help you in real life situations?

One day last year my teacher walked into our research class and said we had to type a 1,000 letter paper on some article and everyone was like "A THOUSAND WORDS, UGHH" and I'm sitting there like ... I used to write stories for FUN that were like 6-15 thousand words. Just thought it was pretty cool how BTB kind of helped me with writing "long" papers.

Yep. Uni was like, 500-1000 words for a story, a week's deadline too. I was like, "Seriously? Can knock that off in my sleep!"

Exactly! This girl was like "I'm going to use a lot of filler and garbage so I can actually do this" ... "MY FINGERS HURT SO BAD" ... And I'm sitting there and my friend looks at my computer and goes "Dude you have 1,324 words" or whatever it was and I'm like oh hey look at that lol.

I have a similar story -

I owed a friend a favour, and for his drama assessment he needed a script typing out neatly and professionally and how full shows are generally presented around here is exactly the style he wanted, so I found it pretty easy to do that and he and his crew loved it. So yeah, it has helped me in real life, I guess.

Yeah, I know what you mean. My friend complained about a 2000 word essay that he needed to do, and my initial thought was that it was the equivalent to a 10 minute match so it isn't actually that much.

I've got a question for everyone, how do you go about thinking of a name for your thread? Did it just come to you?
